And it stands up pretty well. They do a solid Cuban sandwich, perfect maduros, great rice, and solid ropa vieja, with much friendlier service than you’ll find in Miami. Only knocked down a point because I love beef picadillo, and every time I get it there, it’s dry.

People talk about eating places that don't look like much but are surprisingly good. This is one such place. It is a small venue with graffiti covered walls. You order at the window and they bring the food. The menu is not extensive, but our little group was three for three. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. I had the Cuban Sandwich, others had the pulled pork and one of the bowls. One person said the sweet potato fries were the best she'd encountered. I don't normally like sweet potato fries, but these were good. We were in the neighborhood for a concert and finding this place was great luck.

Authentic feel as well as reminiscent spices and recipes - great place to meet up with fellow Cuban travelers for delicious deja vu.

Authentic Cuba bowls & plates, drinks; salsa music. Enjoy black beans & rice (white, brown or yellow) with tasty meats, shrimp or veggie. Great selection of beverages.

Was told by friends in the area that this was good Cuban food. I was very disappointed. Two people in our party ordered the mamey shake and it was a faded, bland concoction with not much mamey flavor. The special of the day was vaca frita and, while the taste was not too bad, it was not cooked correctly to have the crunchy crust it needs to develop. The black beans were horrible and tasteless. Everyone in our party agreed they were not worth eating. The rice was made without salt. Another person in our party ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was basically a ham and cheese-not very exciting. The best part of the meal were los maduros (plantains). They were sweet and cooked to perfection. There was great Cuban music playing from the 40's and 50's.

This was my first time at the El Cubo and I was not disappointed. I tried the Cuban Sandwich and was very happy with my choice, the sandwich was seasoned very well and grilled just right. I have to say this was one of the best if not the best Cuban sandwich I have ever had. The atmosphere is very down to earth and great for a casual lunch with friends. The two friends I went with enjoyed their Cuban bowls of meat, rice and condiments, Delicious. So we all were happy with our choices. Too full to try dessert maybe next time. Oh yes tried the Mojitos, just delicious. I will definitely be returning.

As a former food cart it was not bad, sad to report that as a brick and mortar Restaurant it leaves a lot to be desired Their alleged best dish, Mojo Pork was mushy, tasteless and totally bland. The side dishes followed suit. My wife had the chicken, same outcome, not acceptable to be called Cuban cuisine. The food lacked character, and thus a true Cuban identity. As a food town, Portland deserves much better, and there is better.

Just got back from having a really authentic Cuban dinner. The place is what you would expect to see in Cuba or Mexico, but probably nicer here in America! Two of us had the chicken with a tangy delicious guava sauce along with the typical rice and beans PLus a side order of your choice... Plantains, fries or a Carribean salad made with cukes, red onion, fresh mango and that's what I ordered. Never had it before but will try it at home. Loved it all! Price was very reasonable. Don't go when it's hot outside because it isn't cooled! That was the only thing we didn't enjoy was the heat during this heat spell

We were pleasantly surprised how good the food was here. We had the mojo pork and beef picadillo plates with Caribbean salad as the side. The Caribbean salad was really, really good!! It is small cucumber, thinly sliced and tossed in a lime flavored dressing topped with a little red onion, mango chunks, avocado slices and a little pepper on top. Lime daiquiri was good and you could taste the rum but I couldn't taste much rum in the Havana sunrise. I could only taste pineapple juice. The mojo and spicy mojo sauces were very tasty. The staff was very friendly. I'm not a fan of counter service unless it's fast food or a sandwich shop and if I wanted to bus my own table I'd stay at home for that! That's why 3 and not four stars. Would recommend though.

Some the best food we've had, and we know Cuban food. All ingredients fresh. Great spices and flavors. Effective use of garnishes like avocado and mango. Unfortunately you order at a counter and most of the seating is in the back lot next to the HVAC. This food in an actual sit-down restaurant would be five-stars easy. It even has parking.

Very interesting place; loved the atmosphere and the food is very good!! Next time I'm in Portland I'll be stopping by!

We both expected more meat in our dinner order as it seemed like the rice and beans took the main focus of the ropa vieja. But what meat we did get was very tasty. The mojitos were made fresh, the tostones were addictive, the plaintains just right, and the outdoor seating was really pleasant. If we were locals we wouldn't go here regularly, but would definitely be back. The entree is maybe a little overpriced for what you're getting, but everything else was in line.

The Cuban sandwich was amazing as was the Caribbean salad. The "Mojo Pork" was also excellent. Love this place and will definitely go again and again

I had a groupon so my friend and I decided to go. Sometimes when you use a groupon your service can lessen because you are using a discount. This was not the case here. Our waiter was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout the whole experience. The menu only had 4 bowls (each w a diff meat) 4 platters which were the same ingredients as the bowls just in a platter, and two sandwiches. But I got a bowl and my friend got a platter. We both were happy with the size and taste of the dishes. We also both got red sangria which was excellent Only complaint would be lack of menu options but still what they have tastes good.

Holy cow! Best Cuban food we've ever eaten! Hubby had the Cuban sandwich, I had one their signature bowls with rice and beans and other deliciousness. We sat outside on the patio where they were having Trivia Night, so we joined in. Definitely recommend this place for either lunch or dinner.

My husband and I stopped there for lunch and really enjoyed our first experience with Cuban food. I tried the Pollito bowl which had shredded chicken with guava sauce, black beans, rice, mango, avocado, and two kinds of fried plantain. It was nicely spicy and delicious. My husband tried the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato tots which he said was very good. We will definitely go back.

This is a place where everyone can get what they want, including the GF person. Great food, fast and friendly service. A great selection of rum based cocktails.

This little place is great: good selection of authentic Cuban food, wit a number of vegan options as well. And it's super affordable, with bowls in the $9 range.

We stumbled onto Cubo de Cuba having gotten off a bus on Hawthorn. So very glad we did. This small restaurant is not only totally cute, but also very authentic. The empanadas (gluten free) are the best I have ever eaten. Seriously - go there just to get the empanadas they are THAT GOOD. We also had the Cuban salad which was really good on a hot day. Hubs had the shrimp bowl and was blown away. Highly recommend this off-the-beaten path restaurant. It is so very good. Staff are wonderful too.

A group of 6 met up here for dinner and it was good. Everyone got something different, but mostly bowls. The plantains were a hit. I got a daiquiri and it was awful ( should have taken a star back for that but didn't because others enjoyed their cocktails). It was bad because it was terribly sweet.

Food is greasy, over-cooked, and flavorless. I love Cuban food, but not this place. On the bright side, there is free wireless and great coffee, and there aren't many customers most of the time if you want a quiet spot.

This Cuban restaurant is truly a great value. Their food is delicious: ropa vieja is excellent, as it is the pork. The fresh juices are generous and really fresh: we tried mamey and mango juice, and both were delicious. I strongly recommend this place, very few times something new surprises you, that's what happened to me when I tried ropa vieja, it reminded me my mum's cooking.

I was so looking forward to coming here. Came into town on business and ate an early dinner. I was a little disappointed on the portion of the chicken. The plantains were good, I wish I would’ve ordered more. Didn’t finish the black beans. Maybe I should have ordered something else.

The empanadas we ordered were cold on the inside. The meats were dry. It smelled so good as we entered, so that set our expectations high. Plus, the staff was very friendly and nice about answering our questions about the food. The food just didn't work for us.

First time visiting. Picked it for a mutually convenient spot for a business chat over lunch. Cute cheerful ambiance. Nice bouncy Latin music, not too loud. And the food was good. We both had bowls, one had the special shrimp bowl, the other the beef picadillo bowl. Succulent maduros. Crispy tostones. Garnished with avocado, mango, lime. Just right for a light yet filling lunch and a bit of sobremesa.

We heard good things about CUBO. We ordered the Ropita and Havana bowls for lunch. The Ropita could have qualified as vegetarian since the sparse 1 oz chunk of shredded beef was difficult to appreciate. Not enough to taste the spice with the tiny amount of meat. The Havana was similar in quantity just slightly more meat serving. Overall, the beans and rice and plantines were cooked excellent. Value not what I expect for $10.95 each. We won’t be back.

First of all, this is a counter place where you place your order and pay at counter and take a number to a table. The menu is extremely limited! I ordered a Cuban sandwich with plantains. It all was burnt. The quality of the food was poor. The place is very tiny. If you find this to be good Cuban food, you must not be familiar with Cuban food.

My wife and I were looking for a quick, late-evening gluten free dinner. We found El Cubo and we were very happy with it. It's sort of like someone took a food cart and attached it to a seating area and called it a restaurant. There is indoor seating and an outdoor patio which was very nice on a warmish evening. The food came quickly and was very good. My wife was thrilled with to be able to order a gluten-free empanada. The chicken, rice, beans, and plantains were all tasty. Overall, this was not quite as good as the other Cuban restaurant we go to (Pambiche on NE Glisan and 28th), but it is a different type of place, so you have to appreciate it for what it is. We are definitely planning to return to try more of the menu.

Came here for lunch around noon on a Friday. Ordered a vegan bowl (The Portland?) and another bowl that had meat. By mistake, they made us two meat bowls, but quickly changed the situation when I pointed out their mistake. As another reviewer has pointed out, the food was good, but the portions a little on the small side given the price point. There's a large, expansive patio (that was pretty much empty the day we went) and a smaller inside. They serve booze, and the guys who served us were dreamy and efficient. Would I come back? Yes ... although probably not for a while.

Was walking around the hawthorne area to figure out what to eat and decided on Cuban food tonight. As is typical of the few times I've had Cuban food there is beans and rice with your entree and plantains. The ropitta bowl(shredded beef cooked in tomato stew) was tasty and not hot spicy I didn't care for five alarm food. The place advertised it was gluten free

Simple and very tasty Cuban food. Service is quick and meals are inexpensive and the menu is large enough to satisfy all family members.

The Cuban sandwich was fantastic specially if you have the Cocojito drink with it. El Cubo is a casual place with lots of character reminding you of the tropics. If you like Cuban music like I do, you would really enjoy your time at this place. I will go back again.

Want authentic you get authentic, The prices are pretty steep, but for authentic we will pay, The Cuban sandwich was delicious, the dirty rice was so flavorful and the Empanadas delicious, the sangria was super yummy. The service was awesome! Will be back.

Fun place for a bite. I liked everything we ordered and will probably be heading back to try a few things I missed!

We did take-out so can't speak to the ambience. I grew up in Key West Florida - was married to a Cuban and cooked and ate Cuban food for the first half of my life...This was in no way real Cuban cooking. The pork was fine, the yellow rice and beans were just that...not genuine. The only two selections we ate that approached Cuban cuisine was the maduras and the flan...disappointed.

The food was very good. My wife enjoyed one of the pork bowls and it was fresh and tasty. She would have liked it more if Jasmine rice was a option but I don't think that comes from the territory their trying to represent. I had the mojo pork and the serving size was perfect and flavorful. My only complaint was the salty plantains had little to no salt on them and I would describe them better as savory plantains. The beans lacked flavor but with a splash of siaracha turned out just fine. The piña colada was blended perfecto.

What a wonderful find for me on Hawthorne. Honest Cuban cuisine is a real treat. I had the Cuban sandwich put together perfectly (juicy pork, slice of ham, cheese, pickles, crispy toasted bun) served with sweet and savory fried plantains. Served fresh lime. Great Cuban music playing, very colorful decor. There's a lovely patio and one of the Cuban owners plays in live band on the patio during the summer. Very friendly, check this place out!!

Excellent food, astonishingly low prices for the quality with local and other beer and wine available. 5 of us ate well with at least one beer each for ~$70 It's informal not about service as much as focus on the food. Picnic like tables, colorful happy environment and ... I repeat, excellent food.

What a wonderful restaurant! The rice bowls and empanadas were excellent! So was the Cuban sangria. The atmosphere is colorful and fun too. The staff is extremely friendly.

I really wanted to eat here but we weren't hungry. I did order a Cafe Con Leche and it was one of the best coffee drinks I have had in a long time. Very smooth, not bitter at all! It looks like they have a good happy hr. 1/2 Price 3-6pm

We stopped by on a really hot day and almost didn't stay because there's no air conditioning but I insisted as soon as I saw that they make 2 kinds of plantains: tostones (fried green plantains which are crisper and salty) and maduros (fried ripe plantains which are sweeter and softer). We ordered these as part of the happy hour offerings such as a mini version of their Cuban sandwich and drinks. Very good and the restaurant is really fun. Colourful, funky, a big patio and friendly staff.

What a fun place. Located on Hawthorne Blvd. (with it own parking lot -- so handy), this brightly colored, small establishment, is a find for fresh Cuban food. You order at a window (the cuban sandwich is delicious), find a table, enjoy, and bus your own dishes. The prices are modest and portions just right. The staff is super friendly. We were there for lunch but now want to come back for dinner.

I've walked by this place 100 times and finally decided to give it a try and wasn't disappointed. I had the Havana bowl, pork, black beans, brown rice & a side of plantain chips. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. As for a previous comment about the food not being "authentic" Cuban, so what? If you like good food & perhaps something different from the plethora of pizza, burgers & Thai food, give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. Don't be surprised if you have to wait for a seat.

The first time I came, I opted for the Cuban sandwich, which was tasty, but I was jealous of the bowls my 2 vegetarian friends had chosen - they came fully loaded (though not so big you can't finish them) and had both types of plantains (green and ripe) as well as mangoes. The second time I visited, I got the bowl that has pork in it. It also had beans and some yummy sauce. I also tried the Flor de Cana /espresso drink (cold) and found it delicious. While waiting for our food, my boyfriend and I also played a friendly round of ping-pong and the music on the patio was so inspiring, we danced a bit of salsa by our picnic table before heading out. Good food, pleasant atmosphere. Wil lcertainly be coming back when I have a lechon or maduro craving!

The Mojo Shrimp bowl included +/- 6 large shrimp marinated in a tasty sauce along with rice, beans, avocado, mango and plantains... very good!

Maybe a dozen tables, most a little rickety, bright colors and Cuban music. But we came here for the FOOD which was so good we wish we lived in Portland so we could go back. The BOWLS and PLATES are heaping with flavor and more than enough for medium appetites. Portland Bowl is typical island fare with rice and black beans, avocado and mango.Guava Chicken plate is a protein hit with locally raised chicken and homemade guava sauce. Sandwiches made with pork, also local, chicken and cheese. Prices $6-$10. Try a side of Tostones (fried, crispy, salty green plantains) or Maduros (fried ripe, sweet plantains). Rum drinks, wine, sangria, beer and non alcoholic.

Good quick stop for lunch. They have a nice patio. Ropa Vieja with maduros and a cortadito hit the spot.

Fresh ingredients delightfully prepared makes El Cubo top notch in my book. Havana bowl is a meal unto itself. Perfect. Atmosphere is friendly and comfortable. Highly recommended.

First time having Cuban food, so although I have nothing to compare it to, I can say that the food itself was fantastic! Dishes ordered: Mojo Shrimp, Ropa Vieja and the empanadas. All were stellar. The black beans and sweet potato fries were also winners. The yellow rice was good - just lacked a little seasoning. The ambience is very Portland, and more specifically, very Hawthorne (which is not a bad thing). I don’t make it to this side of town very often, but I’m glad I made the trip to check this place out!

I had high expectations for this place and I wasn't let down. Ordered Ropita bowl and it was awesome, very tasty. I had yellow rice which was their own flavoured and I loved it. Everything was good, nice taste combinations and I loved the plantain chips on the side! Bowl was just a perfect size too, not too big, and if you want more food you can order the plates instead of bowls. Decor was great and colourful, music was good and the place was busy. What's not to like?

We're been here a few times now, and are very pleased with the variety, taste, and reasonable prices. Nice to get away from the usual foods we eat. Employees are friendly, and food is promptly served.

This far from Havana or even Miami, the plantains can be chewy, and the ropa vieja a little dry. Solid rice and a surprisingly good piccadillo, at least when I tried it.

This was a fun find for our family on a night out! We love trying new cuisine and this one was new for us. I am gluten free and my family is not , but this restaurant offers plenty of gluten and dairy free options! We enjoyed trying the fried plantains with our dinner( we arrived at happy hour and they were only 4 bucks for a good size of them) Also, they serve empanadas made with a gluten free batter! It has been a long time since I have had an empanada! We loved the ones filled with guava and cream cheese!! Yum!! So colorful inside and a great find! Worth checking out for sure!! Good food that’s also healthy! We didn’t notice the Cuban styled sauces inside that I think are meant to put on your dishes til we we’re leaving, so we missed out on that part , but now we will have to try it again!;)

My first visit to El Cubo DE Cuba today and I was NOT disappointed. I had the Pan con Lechon slow roasted pork sandwich with swiss cheese and picked the maduros for my side. DELICIOUS.... Staff was very friendly and nice. Cute restaurant with cool outdoor patio. Can't wait to go back and try all of the other items on the menu.

OMG these guys know how to make a drink. Rave reviews on the mojito double and the pina colida. Most are rum drinks and one tequila drink. They also have beer, wine and cider. Food is good too. There can be a wait, depends on the time of day. They have take out if you cannot eat in. They have a nice patio and small parking lot. Workers are nice and efficient.

I had lunch from their "food truck" at PDX on my way out of town. It was DELICIOUS--The best airport food I've had in a while! I highly recommend their Cuban sandwich and the side of mango salad.

A cute place we found while walking along Hawthorne. Nice staff with indoor and outdoor seating. Great drinks and food with almost everything on the menu gluten free. The prices were very good. My niece and I had Pina Coladas and my husband had a Guava Colada. My niece and I both had Ham & Cheese Empanadas and my husband had Tostones and one Empanada. I would definitely keep this place in mind for the future.

I remember Cubo de Cuba when there were two food carts downtown. Always stopped when I was able, and enjoyed the experience. Had an e-mail from a friend whose band was playing at the Hawthorne Street Fair last Sunday, and they were in the parking lot of Cubo on Hawthorne. Had to go - loved the restaurant....positively the way a small Cuban restaurant should be. People waiting to order, others on the back patio having a drink, others sitting inside or in front, talking & having fun. The food was, as it had been in the past, the way I like it. Viejo Ropa with white rice, good Cuban black beans (there is a difference), tostones - what else besides a shot or two of rum to add to the great music of Melao de Cuba. A wonderful time, it's the way a Sunday afternoon, at the end of summer should be. I'll be back first chance I have, just to sit and visit, and have more good food.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. Quite possibly the most original menu in the industry, partly because no one else specializes in Cuban food. I was really impressed by their original dishes and unique food offerings. There’s no other restaurant out there with a menu that compares, this is one unique place to visit.

For the price would have loved more food (only 2 tostones should be illegal ha ha) but the meal had very good flavor. I would go again.

The Cuban sandwich and plantains here are simply to die for. I washed it down w a tasty IPA on tap. Great food and service in a funky cool place music that was inviting, but not too much for good conversation. Well recommended! :-)

My mom lives around the corner from here and I wanted to eat here for every meal during my visit! We visited for an early mid-week lunch when it wasn't crowded. Upon entrance, we were immediately welcomed and felt at home due to the warmth from the greeter/counter person. Both, my mom (in her 70s) and I liked the vibe there. While she tolerated the graffiti on the walls, we enjoyed the art throughout the place. Our meals were fresh, colorful, and DELICIOUS!!! The food was not disappointing at all. Again, I just wanted to move in and eat there everyday while visiting mom. The venue looks like it would be so much fun to be there on those warm nights out on the back courtyard patio. I can't wait to return!

I have been to this place a couple times before and had wonderful food. This trip, in December, the food was great, the staff very friendly and helpful, but the restaurant itself is freezing cold! We all kept our coats on and buttoned up throughout the meal. I will definitely be back here in the summer, as they have a big patio and the warm weather experience is a completely different one! I think it would be great if the owner invested in a different heating system!

I read the good reviews and decided to try this place. I was looking forward to my dinner. You do wait in line, but I thought this was a good sign ad an indication of the food quality. I ordered the Mojo Pork plate with brown rice, black beans and a Caribbean salad as a side. It was a nice night so I sat outside. My food arrived fairly quickly. It had no flavor. The pork was a flavorless meat-mush -- just no pork flavor. Rice and beans were bland. Maybe the yellow rice has more flavor. You're asked to bus your own table, which is fine, but outside they only have a trash can without a foot peddle. And the bag inside was folded over so the food ended up on top of the bag. Kind of gross. The beer was good and it looks like the authentic Cuban cocktails were popular. And the Caribbean salad did taste fresh. Service was ok. The order-taker and the person who brought the food seemed a little burdened by customers. So, figure out how to get more flavor into the food, buy a trash can you can open with your foot, clean up the outside area a little bit -- and smile.

The mojo pork plate is wonderful. The Cubano sandwich is quite good - we prefer it to the pork belly version at Bunk. Definitely more authentic. Although they seem quite simple, the Cuban black beans are very addictive. The best though is the maduros - plantains cooked til they are soft and carmelized. They are fantastic. You get to order a side with your plate so order the maduros!

went here with 3 friends, spur of the moment. We were expecting more of a sit down restaurant but were very pleased. It is an order at the counter place, with a friendly laid back atmosphere. We had 2 vegetarian plates and 2 pork, both with beans and rice and plantains. and caribbean cocktails. We all loved our meals and would go back again.

We enjoyed a quick bite at El Cubo on a Sunday morning. Steady stream of customers without the crowds. The counter staff was lovely- friendly and personable. Enjoyed the Cuban sandwich with generous meat portions (very tasty!) and some empanadas. Fun and colorful vibes with great Cuban music. Nice outdoor seating which was too cold for us but others were enjoying the chilly sunshine. Happy to have discovered this spot!

This place used to be a food cart downtown and was arguably my favorite food cart. I was distraught when I heard they were moving to a brick and mortar location on the east side. I have since been to the brick and mortar location and it is even better than the food cart. There are more great food options and some great drink options as well and all for very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and the food is still amazing as it always was. The only downside is that I can't walk to it from work anymore because it is no longer downtown.

Loved this place and wanted try everything on the menu. I went with the Pollito bowl, which had chicken with a guava sauce, rice, beans, avocado and plantains. Yumm! They have a nice outdoor seating area as well. I’m definitely going back.

My wife and I found a Groupon for this place. Nice little place right on Hawthorne. We both had the cuban sandwich. Piece of sliced pork with ham and a pickle. I guess there is "mojo" sauce somewhere. Tasted good. Bread had chips pressed in it. Simple but delish. The plantanes not so much. Bland and salty. We both ordered alcoholic bev. The sign said "Best Mojitos" so I tried that and my wife had the hot cider with rum. The mojito by far was not the best. Small glass packed with ice and gone in 2 sips. $6.50. We will go back to try something different we just wont have mixed drinks or plantanes.

We ended up here when the Asian place we planned to go to was closed. Initially were skeptical because it was not air conditioned and it was still really hot outside. The patio was all in shade and the breeze made it comfortable to eat outside. We enjoyed our Cuban sandwiches and four different sides (each of us picked a different one). All were very yummy. The mojito was good but the glass was filled with more mint than drink. very friendly staff who have great recommendations for other places to try while we were visiting.

This was a great late lunch spot after a day of being outside. The food was delicious and I enjoyed the Cafe con Leche as I warmed up. The staff was helpful and even brought out new maduros since they felt those that came with the meals were too dark. I appreciated their attentiveness and kindness. The Cubano sandwich was really great - but other dishes look good as well.

Good chicken and pork dishes, at very fair prices. Also, good local micro beer on tap. pleasant outdoor patio and good parking. Order at the counter and be prepared to wait for whatever gets the staff distracted.

By far one of the best meals I've had since moving here 1 year ago. I love everything about this place. Simple yet pleasing presentation. I had the Havana bowl at the recommendation of one of the men working there. It had delicious mango, avocado, rice, very tender pork that fell apart on the fork, black beans, wedge of lime, & 2 kinds of fried plantains. The more sweet/mushy plantain I paired with the mango and avocado. The flat crispy & savory plantain I used to scoop up my beans and rice. Everything was delicious. Oh, and the service was fast! I place my order, and just 8 or so minutes later, it was in front of me! HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone! They even have began and gluten friendly options for those who don't eat meat, gluten "contaminated", or animal sourced foods. This place is bomb! I want to try every menu item now...

There are very few Cuban options in Portland and this place is one of them. I love the 'local' feel and the food is very good. The atmosphere is light and bright and a good place to just hang on the patio or even for take out. The mango and cucumber salad is yummy!! Definitely with a stop!!

For sure check out the vibe amazing food and awesomely helpful and friendly staff. Artwork and garden area is sweet. Definitely coming back for drinks. Love Love Love your spot! 💜 🇨🇺

Always excellent food with a choice to suit everyone. Great cocktails too. Friendly service and good value.

Delicious food, generous portions, the tostones were really good, friendly staff. Food was delicious! They had great vegan options. Loved it
good first meal
My wife and myself had been meaning to try this place for a while and we finally did this past weekend. It used to be aTaco del Mar in its previous life; it's a small building so space would be limited. We decided to get our orders to go. We both had the guava chicken with black beans, brown rice and the Caribbean Salad along with a side order of the sweet potato tater tots. I'm not a big fan of sweet potato anything but my wife wanted to try them. We both loved the chicken; it fell off the bone it was so tender and the guava gave it a unque taste. We also loved the salad; it was a good counterpoint to the chicken,. The beans and rice were also very good. My only negative was the tots. They were soft, not crunchy like a tater tot should be. Unless my wife wants them, we won't be getting those again. I also noticed on the menu all the items are gluten free which is useful for many people I'm sure. We'll definitely be going back; there's a vegetarian item my wife wants to try and a pork item I want to try. I also noticed many sandwiches so we'll give those a shot too. Overall, although we miss the convenience of having the Taco del Mar within walking distance, this is a huge upgrade.
