Local favorite authenitc Italian

By Lindsey C |

This Italian deli is right across from UNLV. My brother went to school there, and while we were visiting, we stopped by for lunch. The food is amazing and authentic! This is one of those places that locals go to, but a tourist would have no idea about, unless they had an inside source (like I did). If you get a chance, you need to treat yourself and try it out. You won't be disappointed!

Hidden Jewel by UNLV

By Matusla |

Attended a concert at UNLV and left hungry and was told of this Deli across the street. It is and Old Mom & Pop Deli and as you walk in you see the Italian favorites. Menu is simple and we ordered are sandwiches and we were not disappointed. The bread was great.

Hidden Gem

By BradD |

After a long day at Hoover Dam and ziplining in Bootleg Canyon while on Spring Break our family was looking for some good pizza and a nice low key place to have dinner. Cugino's is just that place! Pizza was awesome (and very reasonably priced), the owner who took care of us was super friendly and come on, the police eat there so it must be good! Note, they do not serve beer/liquor. However, the owner was more than happy to direct me to the laundromat next door to purchase a nice big can of Bud Light to enjoy with my pizza. Great food, great service and very cheap. Don't miss this place!!!!

That's a tasty meatball sandwich!

By KelliMcK |

No frills restaurant with fabulous sandwiches and delicious cannoli. Perfectly seasoned meatball sandwich with tangy sauce and fresh, crisp bread with a generous portion of melted cheese comes with a pepperoncini and a soda for less than $8. Bare bones atmosphere with a baseball game on the television and imported Italian goods lined up on shelves against the wall. Friendly staff and quick service. Buy a pint of the marinara to go!

Great sandwiches, lovely people

By Ivor M |

This deli has a really authentic and family feel. The sandwiches are big and very reasonably priced. And they serve Lavazza coffee which is excellent. The staff is very welcoming and will ensure you have a good experience! Well worth the short drive from the strip.

Canolli, And Cheese Steak

By ShogunMarine |

I travel here within 24 hrs after arriving into Vegas for the great food. Look forward to the canolli. Eat one here and always take one to go.

"Arthur Avenue + Mulberry Street in Las Vegas"

By NYCHeadhunter |

This is the kind of place in the "old neighborhood" that you could trust. Fresh, honest, home-made dishes that your grandmother made everyday (especially Sunday).....they even fly the fresh bread in from New Jersey!! A local Italian restaurant owner sent me here initially because I could not find great, fresh (made daily) mozzerella....I left with $100 in marinated mushrooms, eggplant, fresh mozzerella, arancini, a great pie, etc, etc, etc.....If you're a tourist and reading this, just a short cab ride from the Strip and you're back in the "old neighborhood."

New Favorite place for an Italian Sandwich

By jdotchin |

I head to Cugino's Italian deli at least once every few weeks and get either the #1 or #2 Italian Sandwich, I can't decide on my favorite. Nothing fancy, lots of tables and very busy for lunch. It is on Maryland Parkway near UNLV but has more Police and professors than students. May cost a little bit more than some of the cheaper places but this place is legit. Always several specials on the board for lunch. Worth a trip to UNLV area.

That sandwich? To die. Amazing.

Yelp, I'd like to applaud you for not letting me down. I bow to each of you, fellow reviewers, for you steered me right tonight. You see, tonight I got home from work and was just too exhausted to do much of anything. So, I settled on delivery and headed over to the net to guide the way. I ended up ordering a Sicilian Rice Ball, the Donnie's Special Sandwich, and the Garlic Knots. Delivery: I ordered using the site Eat24, which was easy enough. Because of their handy dandy little timer, I was able to see that my delivery took about an hour and ten minutes. I'm right up the road, so I'm not sure if they were just busy tonight or what. I didn't really mind the wait, since I'm just lounging at home--- but if you are rushed, keep that time window in mind. Let's start with the knots: they're delicious. Flakey on the inside, crisp on the outside. VERY garlicky (which is a huge plus in this Italian girl's world). I feel like they might be slightly improved with a little cheese or something, but I'm not mad at all. My order came with six knots and a thing of marinara--- which was actually a nice sauce, for the record. The rice ball is. . . well, I don't totally know what I was expecting, but it's big (like, half a softball?). Cooked well, slightly crisp on the outside, mushy in all the best ways on the inside, good flavor. The meat and pea situation in the middle is really great. Goes really well with the marinara. The sandwich is the stand out though. Like, the sandwich will be the reason I'll order from here again, no doubt. The bread is flakey, the chicken is huge and cooked well, the peppers are flavorful but not overly sweet, the balsamic is just the right flavor. . . and the mozzarella? Amazing. Actually, I was saving the other half of the sandwich for lunch tomorrow, but now I think I'm going to grab that other half. Thanks again, internet!

New York taste in the house.

By Sandra J |

My honey and I visited this Italian Deli & Pizzeria referred by our friends at Broadway Pizza. This is another NY style (thank goodness) restaurant. We were able to talk about Queens, Long Island City and the taste of NY. I had a NY knish, beef patty and going back for dinner. Nice place to bring your NY friends.

Authentic Italian for reasonable price

By jdawg5682 |

Good food, reasonable price and super friendly staff. Great service. Get the garlic knots. Just trust me!

Great sandwiches and homemade pasta

By brucedog |

I have been there several times and their sandwiches are always fresh with lots of good quality meat and cheese. There cheese pizza is excellent and fresh. Very friendly NY staff and fast service. Small place with NY style food.

The best comfort food!

By kevin l |

Yeah, if you live here and don't know about this place it's your own fault! Everything is made fresh and is wonderful. They make their own cheese, and the sauces are out of this world!

Lunch

By Crustyitalian |

Wanted to try this place out since first reading about it on Trip Advisor. When there for lunch today & the Italian 2 sandwich and small rice ball has my mouth watering for more. Can't wait to go back for a good dinner.

Solid Italian

By TAMAN1951 |

Great place for sn authentic Italian meal. Not fancy and counter service, but super friendly. Fairly inexpensive. Flavor is mild, just like in Italy. Delicious pasta snd meatballs or Italian sausage. Good cannoli. Not much ambience but good food.

Authentic!

By jimmybob333 |

Their pizza is awesome simply because they make the mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce everyday. All of their pastas and sandwiches are delicious too. The cheese pizza is similar to the real NY pizza! Yes, that good!

really good food. neat little hole in the wall.

By Nancy M |

We stop here every time we are in Vegas. food is good, service is great. you can even get special order food not on the menu. Small family owned business with a great quality product.

Best olives ever!

By GretchenFromSpfdMo |

The pizza and cannolis are amazing but the best thing in my opinion is the Kalamatta olives that you can buy by the pound. They're amazing!

Look no further for the best pizza in Vegas!

By cybertraveler |

My son and I were in town working and we are there a lot - he had seen this place on One Bite - Everyone Knows the Rules....so of course we had to hit up Cugino's....BEST DECISION! This is like being in a true NY Italian deli - the family run place, the guys sitting around talking about their wives and walking out with cases of Italian canned tomatoes and pastas. The cured meats - the cannoli - wow - the pizza was AMAZING. Don't kill your wallet on the strip, go get some autehntic Italian food here. We can't wait to go back and try other things.

Italian Food & Deli

By Linda E |

Coming from the east coast and being Italian, it's great to have an Italian deli that has food and goodies that I love. Service & quality is really good!

It was so GOOD I paid for lunch!!

By Matusla |

My friend took me here for lunch, with another associate. Now this is a family Deli and it's family run. I tried the Spaghetti with Meatballs, now the BIGGEST mistake restaurants do is they do not drain the noodles before they place the sauce. Cugino's did it right and no water to weaken and take the delicious taste of their sauce. The bread was physical warm, fresh not pre-made and frozen like chain establishments. My friends raved about their Ruben Melt, good quality meat, and fresh bread. Cugino's Mini Cannoli were not oversweeten One of the associates was taken back that he ordered a Pizza to go, for that was going to be his supper with his wife. As reviewer mention "Good lunch specials off The Strip”, he was right! Easy to Get There: Across from UNLV on S Maryland Pkwy and behind Chipotle Mexican Grill in the Rebel Plaza

Great family-owned shop.

By FrugalFly |

My brother and I wanted to find some local spot off the strip. Trip & yelp showed this Italian family deli in a strip-mall across from UNLV. Very friendly place with kind of east coast feel, and the owners bring you the food. They seem to know a lot of the customers which is good. This place is casual, trays & paper plates, but metal utensils. The Cugino's special pizza was massive & cheesy, a little soggy in the middle but great crust and plenty of toppings & cheese to move around. They have little garlic knot bread rolls with very good marinara sauce, $3 for 6, yum. Also, they have great chicken milanese: 3 pieces, lightly breaded and clean, not oily at all, on a salad with side of pasta marinara, & bread sticks. Great local food.

Memories from Home

By rrooyal |

Cugino's is a family run restaurant/take out establishment that allows anyone from the East Coast to close her/his eyes and to recall meals that Mom and/or Pop prepared as the aroma of home cooking engulfs the restaurant. What I love the most is the ability to buy top rated Italian products that I can bring home to assist me with my meal preparations. My favorite offering is Pizza Rustica which has an English translation of Easter Pie. One point of information - Pie is used as one would order a pizza with the word "pie". Secondly, it can be eaten any time of the year; it is best to order one in advance especially if not in a Holiday season. Occasionally, there will be some remaining from someone who didn't want a whole "pie". The main ingredient is eggs - Mom used to use a dozen for her pizza rustica; I don't know how many "MaMa" uses. The other ingredients are meats and cheeses - delicious!!! Whether someone is Italian or not, this is a must stop located just east of the UNLV campus in the shopping mall with Coffee Bean and Tea and Chipotle. It is just south of Harmon.

Great Italian Deli!

By C S |

We headed into Vegas from Seattle looking for yummy Italian & found it. Cugino's Italian deli. The prices were very reasonable. I had a cavatelli with marinara for $14.00. The cavatelli were a perfect al dente and the dish came with a romaine side salad and breadstick. The garlic knots made us wonder fried, buttery or baked? So tasty cold or hot! We got two arancini, stuffed rice balls. Get them piping hot. The smaller was cheese filled. The larger meat with some sauce. Again, tasty cold or hot. We ordered a tasty manicotti and a chicken Milanese. Cugino's was sampling an Italian cheesecake-like dessert with barley. Mmm. We also bought several Italian sodas to go and some rainbow cookies from NYC. The people were great. The food piping hot & wonderful low key East coast style Italian with a wonderful offering of deli products. What more could you want?!

Like “Mama’s” kitchen

By Lynne C |

I cook Italian at home. Sauce and most things from scratch. The food here with these friendly guys and entire family, was truly home cooking! Here’s how it works. Like a deli, you walk up to counter and order your food, but not just sandwiches or subs or pizza, they have entire delicious homemade dinners including stuffed Rigatoni, Broccoli Rabe and the best boscaiola Sauce ever!!! TRUST ME! I make both at home from scratch and learned from my husbands Italian mother! The bread is fantastic and the guys bring your food to your table with a smile, chat and warm family feel!! They carry many pastries, deli meats, homemade pastas and more.... but over all fine Italian restaurants their pasta dishes are perfect and served “altente’ like we like! They carry “Pellegrino” water and many more! We left hugging them and were only in Vegas for a week ....... ate there three or four times!! So folks!!! GET OFF THE STRIP, if you can just to head over to this little deli from heaven! It’s worth! Pizza superb BTW!! We have eaten all over tri-state area and Europe and these guys are in our top five. No atmosphere so if that doesn’t bother you...... Mange’

You'll Think You're in NY!

By John C |

Who thought a REAL NY joint could be found in Las Vegas. We did the buffets for a day or so and then we found this place. As a native NYer living in the SW I thought the good pizza, sausage, peppers and onions and eggplant Parmesan was 3000 miles away...Wrong! They can be found right here. In a week we did everything on the menu and never looked back. Great food at less than casino prices. Try it, you'll like it.

Never go to Los Vegas without a couple lunches at Cugino's

By Willam M |

This is the best lunch in Las Vegas. Get off the strip and have great italian deli food. Sandwiches, soups, pastas, pizza. Buy ingredients to take home... They have it all. Small place, nothing fancy but we go every year to meetings in Las Vegas and look forward to lunch at Cugino's. BUT...if too many of your friend find out about it you will need a box to carry back sandwiches etc for them. Guaranteed great food.

Better than any casino and strip Italian restaurant in Vegas

By Jose C |

That was a big surprise for us ! This little tiny family Italian restaurant it's just delightful in your palate No more words Just delicious and very affordable. Plus the Italian deli can make your cousin at home a delight for your guest if you like to cook. Definitely recommend this place !

Great Food at Very Reasonable Prices

By Richard H |

We have eaten here a couple of times. Both have been excellent. This time we split a club sandwich. It was outstanding. The huge portions of meat were unbelievable. Not sure how they can make any money charging such low prices for such large quantities of Boar's Head meats. One sandwich is more than enough for two people.

great Italian food

By jerry s |

all kinds of Italian food, sandwiches, full meals, you name it. you have to wait a short time for the food, but it is worth it. Pizza was good, so was meatball sandwich.prices are decent.

A little disappointed

By kate2010 |

I wanted a local place to have dinner instead of fastfood. I would guess this is how the Italian deli looks like, with groceries on one side and the food counter on the other side. They had some specials with soda ( no refills though). I would not say that the food was cheap. I had cheese pizza, my son had the cheesy bread while the hubby had a sandwich. There were only 3 tables occupied so I do not understand why it took them so look to serve the food. My son said the bread was good but my pIzza tasted like the usual cheese pizza. I probably expected more and I was disappointed.

Trip advisor needs a 10 because 5 isn't enough

By Steve D |

Did an internet search and found Cugino's - showed up 30 mins before close (they close at 8). Family run shop - and they were all there - asked for recommendations and one of them was the lasagna. Also ordered the fried gnocchi (yeah - fried) OMG the food was delicious - the lasagna was firm - you could taste the ricotta - lot's of mozzarella - and tasted great (better than homemade). The fried gnocchi was wonderful - good flavor - just crisp enough to pickup by hand, yet soft enough to say "gnocchi" - tasty marinara And as a bonus came with salad and two breadstick sized "loaves" of fresh warm bread. This little deli, buried deep in the back of a strip mall will send your taste buds on a vacation to Italy. You owe it to yourself to eat here -

New York in Las Vegas!!

By frezman321 |

OMG - didn't believe my niece when she spoke about this place. A little deli with some tables run by relatives from various parts of the NYC area. Fried gnocchi!!!! Eggpland rolatini to die for! lots of specialty items that are hard to come by in the American West... Friendly service and clients. it's on Maryland Parkway, (Ave?.) south of Harmon on the east side of UNLV....I think there's a Chipotle in the same strip. We bought and brought back to our suite and enjoyed for 2 days. A real find.

REAL ITALIANS - Family Owned & Operated

By BeenAroundTheWorld |

From the outside this place looks like another strip mall disaster, but inside is an authentic Italian Deli. Tried a slice of cheese pizza... I’d give it a 6.9 out of 10 The meatball sub was a much better choice 8.1 out of 10 (great bread, tangy marinara and good meatball) Famous Garlic Knots... definitely not famous and needed to be HOT, not luke-cold. Service was my favorite part here, cause they are all Italian, older, related and don’t give a damn about customer service. Real Italian, real attitude and it’s like they are all doing us a favor by being open and allowing us to order their food, lol. If I’m around the area (UNLV) I’d come back... but for the $1.99 REFILL on my soda... I’ll probably grab a better slice and sub elsewhere.

A REAL Italian Deli and Best Pizza

By vmacchia |

If you don't mind eating in a nice litte Hole-in-the-Wall in a Strip Mall by UNLV, and want REAL Italian food, made by REAL Italian's, then Cugino's is the place. I found them on a Hidden Gem's search of Las Vegas Italian Food, and a gem it is! A real Italian Deli, market, and Pizza place, not to be found anywhere else near Las Vegas. The sandwiches are simply the best, made on fresh baked bread, and with only the freshest ingredients. They make EVERYTHING from scratch, including their Ricotta and Mozzerella, and their NY Style Pizza is simply to die for! I haven't had a better pie, even in New York. The dough is fresh made, thin, yeasty, and soft. The sauces are homemade, and the toppings generous and homemade as well. I had the Eggplant pizza with homemade sausage, fresh basil, roasted tomatos, and garlic, and I would have to say that it is the best pizza I have ever had. Also got the Italian Sandwich, and it was plentiful and delicious! I can't say enough about this place and will be going back time-after-time. To top it all off, the owners, staff, and service are just delightful! I felt like I was hanging out with Family!

Great deli

Loved this good old Italian deli , the place offers a great selection of food with a great smile and service loved it

Great Italian Sandwiches

By Bluestreak1129 |

Came here after landing at McCarran and picking up our car. Needed a quick fix, and had a craving for Italian. I had the Tony Soprano and friend had pasta with Ital Sausage. Sandwich was quite large and very good value for the price. Nice ingredients as well, very flavorful. The pasta was somewhat bland, but still pretty decent. Overall a very good lunch that hit the spot. Service was good, and the atmosphere is definitely Italian Deli. A nice find in Vegas.

LOVE their sandwiches

By callmemochelle |

Hidden gem! Amazing sandwiches. My boyfriend had the Italian 2, and I had the Italian 1. I enjoyed every bite, and it was a nice, hearty sandwich. We've been back twice, and I've been wanting to try another item, but keep going back for the sandwiches. Its practically the highlight of my Vegas trip! Thumbs up for a great meal.

Not for delivery

By Scott W |

Pizza was marginal at best. Delivery fee was 5 dollars and the driver didn't even bother to offer change. Never again.

WOW!!! Possibly the Best in LV!!

By Bernie L |

If you’re in the LV area and love Italian, you’ve gotta go to Cugino’s Italian Deli & Pizzeria!!! After having a great lunch, we recommended Cugino’s to our friends that arrived later that evening and they all loved it!! This is a quant, authentic Italian deli located across from the university in a small shopping center. Worth the drive!!!!

Good Spot for Lunch

By baloha |

Just walking into Cugino's and you know at once that you are in an Italian Deli. The smells are WONDERFUL!!! They evoked memories walking into Italian Deli's in my childhood. We went to Cugino's because of the write ups on TripAdvisor. And we loved it. My husband had the meatball sandwich which he liked. I ordered the eggplant pamesian sandwhich which I really LIKED!..The sauce was yum and the eggplant was yummy. I also ordered 2 stuffed peppers so that I could taste these specialties. They did not disappoint at all. Nice and spicy. For desert, my husband ordered a large cannoli and I ordered a small cannoli. These brought back memories of Boston's Italian North End and the cannoli there. All we can say is absolutely TERRIFIC!!!!!!!!!!

So glad we stumbled upon this deli

By dl5701 |

The food was delicious! First trip in and ordered two sandwiches. The Goodfella (meatless) and the Tony Soprano tasted delicious, fresh ingredients, and excellent roll. We also took some "to go" stuff from the deli case to enjoy on the long weekend: Eggplant Roasted Red Peppers Marinated Mushrooms Arancini w/marinara on the side They were all excellent, but the Eggplant was off the charts delicious. Waiting for our Grub hub order as I type. I hope what we ordered tonight was as delicious as our first time in.

Always a Treat

By rrooyal |

If you are Italian or if you are not Italian, you must visit this NY style deli located across the street from UNLV at the corner of Harmon and Maryland. My only regret is that I only get there about a half dozen times a year. During the Holiday season, two features that one must try are Pizza Rustica and Grain Pie. The first isn't a pizza and the second isn't a pie, but if you are Italian, you know what they are and that these taste exactly like the ones bought in NYC and Long Island - a fabulous treat for the Holidays. I also found some Holiday Italian pastries that I haven't had in years and they were prepared perfectly. Cugino's isn't only a deli, it has wonderful meals cooked to order - try the fried gnocchi. Below it asks about dining on a budget - it depends on one's budget. With a beverage, I usually spend approximately $12 -15 a person.

Thank Goodness......Authentic NY/NJ Pizza

By TTerpFan |

Moved to LV last fall and searched unsuccessfully for decent pizza for 6 months until a friend recommended Cugino's. After our first bite my wife and I looked at each other and nodded. Our search was over. The crust was thin, crispy and tasty. The sauce and cheese were clearly Italian, not canned pretenders. The place is nothing fancy but we knew we were in a good place as we sat near a table of @ 10 people who spoke mostly Italian. Looking for good pizza.....try Cugino's, you won't be disappointed.

Great Italian food

By Trickropingstar |

I ordered the raviolis they were fantastic and delicious Shrimp penny al vodka was spot on with a light garlic sauce. This Place is really delicious if you like great Italian food.

Must stop

By Jeepers_Mimi |

I don't live in Las Vegas, but Cugino's is a must visit everytime I'm in Vegas. The sandwiches are awesome. They also have pizza's and pasta's, which I have heard are also fantastic. My favorite sandwich is the Cugino's Special. They also have fresh mozzerella!!

Like being in NYC

By Carrie A |

This is a great place to feel and taste like you are in little Italy in NY! Food is great! Conversation is great! Its like hanging around the deli back home! I loved it!

Very Good Italian

By mikempink |

This small deli adjacent to the UNLV campus has good Italian dishes and sandwiches. The baked ziti was very good as was the Italian sandwich # 2. The food was fresh and full of Italian flavors but the price tag for two dishes of $26 without drinks was a bit high for a small neighborhood deli. But the "no drinks" part was not by design; we would gladly paid for beer or wine. When asked if we could bring our own into the restaurant, we were told: "they frown upon it". Who ever heard of eating Italian without a glass of wine? My Italian brother-in-law must be doing flips in his final home. Hell, I dated Italian girls before I got married, I have been to Italy, I can even spell Rome in latin. I know Italian food and I know that I will have to go to confession, if I ever eat Italian without a glass of wine! Probably will not be back.

EVERYTHING is good!

By Barbie |

I have been here several times since the first time I tried it. Originally I was looking for deli meats and olives and found their business card on a closed deli's door that I had frequented often. It was close by so I went. I have been back OVER AND OVER since. PROS: *Marinated Olives *Deli Meats *Easter Pie (made for special holidays; its a thick pie of pizza doe mixed with cheese, eggs and italian deli meats. Serve warm. *Stromboli - thin dough rolled with various Italian meats and cheese. Sliced and served warm. *Eggplant Parmasen- Large portion of thinly sliced lighted breaded eggplant and mozzarella cheese covered in their amazing homemade sauce. Served with a salad and pasta. Bigger than a restaurant portion. *The Godfather Sandwich - Fried Eggplant, Mozzarella, Roasted Pepper and balsamic vinegar. *Donnie's Special Sandwich - Chicken Cutlets (thin), fresh mozzarella, roasted pepper, balsamic vinegar and oil. *HOMEMADE on premises mozzarella cheese. The best I have had in Las Vegas. Firm and lightly salted. EXCELLENT.

Comfort food.

By jp3469 |

Cugino's is located close to my hotel, the Best Western McCarren, so I gave it a try. I had a simple meal of two slices of cheese pizza,a diet coke and a calzone. It was just right. The pizza was hot, fresh and cheesy. The calzone was very tasty. They are open from 10a-8p daily. The menu includes a nice variety of salads, cold and hot sandwiches, pasta, pizza and more. I will stop here again when I come through Las Vegas.

It's a short ride to NY!

By Jewan S |

If you were to magically transport an Italian deli from NY or NJ to Las Vegas, this would be it! I got the italian # 2. These subs are built using quality meats, cheeses, and rolls. In my opinion, there is no easier way to ruin a nice sandwich than by using a cruddy roll with no texture. Thankfully, these guys recognize the importance of this key component and use rolls that are baked on the premises. I also got a nice cannoli and some of their hot and fennel sausage links to try later. There is all kinds of good stuff there including fresh mozzarella, cured olives, cheese cake, tiramisu, and #10 cans Cento brand tomatoes. The guys working there are friendly, efficient, and are real New Yorkers.

Real Italian Deli in the Desert

By Christopher J |

OK, I was hamburgered, and Buffeted out and wanted to get off the strip and find some real food. When we stumbled across Cugino's, a quaint Italian Deli over on the Maryland Parkway by UNLV, really only 5 mins by car from the strip. First off we met the lovely Julia who owns Cugino's with her husband, what a sweet lady. I am Ukrainian / French Canadian, but for a moment I thought I was Italian when we began to eat the Chicken Parm sandwich on fresh Jersey made bread with awesome Mozzarella fresh lettuce, tomato, and shaved red onion. This was a delicious, warm sandwich that almost brought tears to my eyes. We also had a cold sandwich made up of layers of authentic Italian deli meat, Wow what a sandwich. There was also pasta, salads, pizza, and dessert. Oh!!! the cannolis were delicious. This is a must go to location when in Vegas, and say hello to Julia for me.

Can't get more authentic.

By Mark S |

I discovered this place about four weeks ago and have returned at least three times each week for lunch since. The vibe and Ambiance is true Italian to the core. The food is made with passion, and if you're Italian Grandma or Ma would be relieved you're eating right. I've tried a different menu item every time I've dined (eggplant parm. sandwich, peppers and eggs, slice of pie, cannoli, greek salad etc.) These guys couldn't get it wrong if they wanted to. Plenty of vegetarian options, traditional fare etc. If you visit Vegas this needs to be on your short list of places to visit. If you live here, dinner tomorrow... TRUST ME.

Good lunch specials off The Strip

By mcgowan06 |

On a recent business trip to Las Vegas, I stopped in to Cugino’s Italian Deli for a quick bite. I ordered one of their lunch specials, a meatball parm sandwich and a soda for $8.99. I also added a slice of cheese pizza. All told, the meal was a great value for $13. The slices reminded me of those in New York, and the sub was really tasty and filling. For a taste of New York in the middle of the desert – but away from the hustle and bustle of The Strip – you can’t go wrong with a lunch at Cugino’s.

Great local find for Italian food

By OrlandoSoul |

If you want something better than the ordinary franchised or fast food Italian then you have to find time for a family owned treasure on Maryland Parkway and Harmon. It has the charm of a little café and you’ll find the entire family on premises making and serving up their offerings. What a personable, hard working group of people. Cugino’s Italian Deli and Pizzeria reminds me in many ways of the old Italian store but with a complete lunch and dinner menu of Italian dishes, deli sandwiches for every taste, carryout of luncheon meats and cheeses by the pound and a whole assortment of other treats that are incredibly inviting. Everything is available for eat-in or carryout and they also offer delivery. You can find the entire assortment of offerings online. It’s an easy trip from the strip. We had the lasagna, a dinner salad accompanied by hot rolls and followed up with cannoli for dessert. The salad was fresh, the food was served nice and hot and the portions were generous. The prices were very reasonable and everything was delicious, This is one I’ll be sure to visit many times. There were so many choices that I still want to try.

Pastrami sandwich !

By urbanleola |

If you had a choice to eat at a buffet or steak house. I would rather eat a pastrami sandwich made with Marble rye from here. This is the spot that drivers n pit bosses come to. Dont tell anyone ;)

Very good pizza but even better Caesar salad

By ex-road warrior |

This is a review after two visits to this place. I saw this while driving and decided to check this place out. The first time, I was in a mood for a salad so I ordered Caesars salad with grilled chicken. The salad had just the right about of dressing, not too little that I was only tasting lettuce, and not too much that lettuce was "drowning" in dressing. The grilled chicken was perfectly prepared, it was soft and juicy. I expected dry/chewy typically served on Caesar salad. On my second visit, I ordered a slice of NY style pizza and the Caesar salad. The pizza was very good and the salad was as excellent as my first time. Their salad will be the reason to keep me as their regular customer.

Not Impressed!

By Kobesan2000 |

First of all, this place was filthy. We should have left when we walked in. Food debris under the tables is never a good look. We ordered the Sicilian pizza which was overcooked and almost burnt on the bottom. The Donnie sandwich was actually pretty good but I won't ever go back because of the lack of cleanliness.

Needed an Italian food fix...mission accomplished!

By Salemduckfan |

In Vegas for a quick overnight and wanted to get a meal I could take back to my hotel room. Found this business on eat24 app, delivery was available but I went and picked it up. Awesome meatball sub, garlic knots were tasty and I finished with yummy cannoli. They sell all kinds of fresh meats, wish I lived there! Very indiscriminate location in a strip mall but don't let that scare you away.

New York Memories

By NunyaBwax |

We've eaten here several times and we really enjoy the food and atmosphere. I grew up in NY and this place makes me homesick! Love their rice balls and meatball sub! Staff is very friendly.

We were staying near the airport and had already returned our rental car. Had food delivered by a food delivery service through Cugino's website. The food was yummy, especially the gnocchi. The portions were huge. The delivery service was Postmates. I had never heard of them, but their service was reasonable, quick, and with text notifications. Very pleased with the total experience.

Try it, you'll love it!!

As a local I have eaten here on numerous occasions and I finally decided to give a well-deserved excellent review. I have had more or less everything on the menu. I eat the same thing now every time I go, 1/2 Italian sub or 1/2 chicken parm with a slice of pizza. I always go with a friend so we can split the sandwich and then split the two slice lunch special. Can't leave without having a canoli because they are on point. Its inexpensive and legit Italian folks run the place. Don't believe me just ask for mayo on your sub, you may get a funny look. DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!

Best Fresh Mozzarella & Italian Deli In Las Vegas

By birdddurr |

Had a fantastic caprese salad done right with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil on the side so I could adjust just how much of each I wanted. The fresh mozzarella was the best I've ever had. Followed up with a meatball parm hoagie. Simply amazing! Best Italian Deli in Las Vegas!

Best Pizza in Vegas

By Laratron2k |

Quite honestly one of the best cheese (NY style) pizzas I and my wife ever had outside NYC and Italy! Seriously a plain cheese pizza is so flavorful here, the crust is thin and crispy too. I truly recommend ordering or picking up a pie from this place if you’re planning a night in.

Delicious

Authentic Italian deli / restaurant. Very friendly staff . There's no place like this in Vegas. I had the spaghetti special (9.99$). It was great.

I have enjoyed 2 meals here and Pizza was one of them

By Jeremy B |

The pizza is on par as one of the better ones in vegas area. I have had the Fried Raviolis and Cannolis as well and I do suggest them as a decent side and desert, the Cannoli is damn good, they make their own filling with a creamy texture and a flavor all its own, and it works. no messy syrup, just the typical chocolate chips and powdered sugar. But that Filling is killer... The Fried Raviolis cannot go wrong, while I think they may order them and coat them themselves, the sauce that come with is good stuff..

Excellent Meal

We were lucky to find Cugino's Italian Deli. The meatball parmigiana sandwich was delicious. I can't say enough about the fresh baked bread. And the sauce was outstanding! My mom had the sausage and peppers sandwich and raved the entire time, and she's 100% Sicilian! I can never get her to an Italian restaurant because they rarely measure up to her home cooking. Today, we found one and that's a huge deal! By the looks of the lunch rush, we're not the only ones who love Cugino's. Next time you're in Vegas, make the drive over to Maryland Pkwy and eat at Cugino's Italian Deli...

lots for great food.

Authentic Italian Family Deli/Restaurant

By sonopieno |

Freddy and his family welcome everyone that walks in the door. This note is long overdue. My wife and I just left again today, this time splitting a meatball parmigiana and Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. Took home homemade rice balls, tuna salad, pasta salad and cannoli. It's one of the only places in town that has San Marzano tomatoes to make my spaghetti sauce with also. See you again soon Freddy!

An East Coast experience in Vegas

By ElGuru71 |

Cugino's provides a true New York Italian deli experience not far from the Strip in Las Vegas (across Maryland Parkway from UNLV). The food is great and inexpensive. It is a deli so the service is minimal, but that is more than made up for in the quality of the food. Personally, I lean toward the sandwiches (hot and cold) over the pizza and other dishes. The sausage, made in house, is a must try as well.

Just like mama use to make

I had a job interview with a Dr. He saw i was italian and suggested we go here. Well it was perfect the italian atmosphere had me relaxed the food is like back home in New York. I got the job over meatballs and cannoli. Now i go here when i need quick service and down home cooking.

Excellent lunch

Las Vegas can be a pretty expensive place to eat but Cugino's bucks the trend. It's near the university so a bit off the beat track for most tourists but well worth a visit. We stopped by here on a weekday lunchtime and it was pretty busy but the line moved quickly. I had the turkey special which was the turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwich with a drink for around $9. The sandwich was awesome and massive. I could only finish half and saved the rest for dinner. Absolutely delicious. I would definitely head back there the next time I'm in Vegas.

Hidden gem, what a find

By Idania28 |

What a find while on vacation. I found Cuginos on Yelp and we have been here 3 times already. We will visit one more time before we depart. This is very casual, home cooked dining at it's best. We love having a few good lunches away from the strip and tourist traps. Their Sicilian rice balls are the best you will ever have. They are moist, not greasy and filled with a delicious meat/ mozzarella center. Their fried gnocchi are also worth a try along with the pasta fagioli soup. They have many specials and offer eat in or take out. I learned that they are transplanted New Yorkers (Staten Island) which explains the familiarity we felt. Our frequent visits in such a short period of time speak for themselves. Don't miss out.

best Cannoli in vegas !

Great NY deli

Love the people. Feels like home in New York .. And by far, the very VERY best Tiramisu! There are no bad decisions on the menu. A great tasty step out of the West Coast and into the East. A little Vegas gem

Exceptional Italian Deli Straight Out of Brooklyn

By thepepperman |

Cugino's is exceptional in everything that they offer. All food is prepared to order, fast food it is not. Homemade mozzarella and ricotta, fresh cutlets of veal and chicken, pastas with the perfect marinara, with the right amount of sugar to eliminate the acidity make for one of the best "Like Momma makes" Italian food I have found since moving from New York to Vegas. If only they could bring the bread from New York, it would be total heaven. All dishes are homemade, pastries are shipped in from New York along with a great selection of Italian delicacies that you will find in an authentic Italian store. They even serve Dr. Browns Sodas. If you want the atmosphere of a restaurant, you are missing the point. This is a seven table, deli style seating arrangement with some of the best food you will find West of New York City. Manga. Average cover with beverage can range from 12 to 20 depending on whether you choose one of their amazing sandwiches or entrees, but whatever your choice, Cuginos is worth every penny.

Amazing every time!!

We always go to Cugino’s if we are in the neighborhood of UNLV. My nephews were in town and wanted to eat here, to see if it lived up to the hype. It did!! They commented on how everything we had was delicious and the service was friendly and fast. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!

Cuginos

Order the Donnys special....amazing!!! We also had the garlic knots that were so flavorful. It is a family business that caters to the locals

A piece of Italy in L.V.

By AMISTAD144 |

While working for Teach America our oldest son found Cugino's. The owners are Italian descendants even though they were born in Uruguay,South America. Every time we go to L.V. we eat there at least once. The pastrami sandwich is my favorite.

Wanted more but had no time.

By Duane H |

Ordered the Italian # 1 and garlic knots to go. The sandwich was amazing as were the knots. The marinara that came with the knots was also very good. So wanted to come back and try other things but with a closing time of 7 pm it just wasn't possible. Will definitely eat here again on my next visit to Vegas.

Home Style Italiano

By Jerry B |

This is located north side of University of Las Vegas, in other words easy to find. It's old school Italian. They have spices and ingredients for sale with old world Italian names. We had lasagna and we were both stuffed beyond belief. It's like being in a Chicago or New York old world diner. Wonderful

Great sandwiches, great price

By Randy P |

Went here for lunch based on trip advisor reviews. They were correct. Had Italian sub and was awesome. They are big sandwiches but really really good. It is a place to eat, nice deli. Would definitely go there next time in Vegas.

Real deal

By TXRJ53 |

We stopped here for a late lunch after arriving in Vegas, before heading to the strip. OMG, the best meatball parmesan sandwich I've ever had. My NY Italian husband loved whatever it is he had, as did our daughter (sorry, I don't pay that much attention to what they order, just whether or not they like it). This place is the real deal...quality food lovingly prepared.
