Positive one of my favorite restaurant in San Antonio. Menu is very taste, creative and perfect in the variety of the dishes they offer. Huge bar and service is outstanding. When visit them ask Francisco (Paco), great and attentive man, he knows everything about the drinks and dishes.

Came here for lunch and they did not disappoint! The food was unique & DELICIOUS! Packed with flavor! Our server, Karen, was so sweet & attentive & had great suggestions. If you’re in the vicinity, definitely give Cuishe a try!

What a unique experience! Hector was our waiter and he was the best. He described the food so amazing and we wanted everything he suggested! We highly recommend!!

Wonderful food and service. The lengua carpaccio was unique and delicious. The grilled octopus was so tender! Wonderful night with great people.

While visiting family over Christmas in San Antonio they decided to take us to Cuishe in Stone Oak. A very upscale look as you enter the front door. It was a beautiful day so we chose to eat on the patio. Our server, Marcos, was at our table immediately and welcomed us to "their" restaurant. Although he was an employee and not the owner you could tell he had great pride in working there. Any questions we had regarding the menu were answered beyond satisfaction. Marcos has an extensive knowledge of where the food items came from, how often per week they came in fresh, how each item was prepared and what herbs and spices were used in the process. Being an adventurous diner I asked for recommendations. Marcos suggested the pulpo (octopus) and so that was what I ordered. So glad I did! The octopus is first boiled and head removed (per health department regulations). It is then grilled over wood embers. It is served with a roasted pineapple chutney and pickled onions along with corn tortillas. This was without a doubt the best octopus I have ever eaten. Grilled to absolute perfection! I know we will be back in San Antonio again if only to eat at Cuishe! Thank You Marcos and Thank You Cuishe!

Delicious authentic Mexican food in an up-and-coming section of San Antonio. This establishment specializes in Mezcal- a must have if you visit!

None of us had been here before. They had a very unique menu, more authentic Mexico rather than Tex Mex. We started with a very small cup of a spicy shrimp broth. Spicy but very good. As an appetizer we had the guacamole de langosta (with lobster, mango & cilantro) which was delicious. I had the pulpo (octopus) which was amazing. Great presentation, the salsa was unique, corn tortillas were excellent. My wife had the Chili en Nogata which liked as well. My daughter had the shrimp Aqua hole which was very spicy (maybe too spicy for her tastebuds). My son-in-law had the steak milanesa which he devoured. Our server (Faith) was very new, but very sweet and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious, unique dining experience.

Way over rated... flavorless and expensive... As context perhaps important to note that we're originally from Mexico City... living in the US and were visiting San Antonio... since it was San Antonio, we figured best to eat Mexican due to culture of this wonderful city. This restaurant has an attitude that we were lucky to be there... not unfriendly but hardly friendly and not really good service. Stand-offish. If food was amazing, could have tolerated it... but this was very well presented good with no flavor.... We hated: esquite, steak tacos, tacos al pastor, salmon, Caesar salad, margarita... basically flavorless and we left hungry... really good was agua de jamaica Kids liked: flautas and enchiladas (latter did look really good) Two of us left with upset tummies. Basically this is a really really nice looking place, service is indifferent where it server could care less if we were there, played make great photographs but you'll be disappointed with the first taste and then really disappointed when you see the final bill...US has some great Mexican restaurants... this just isn't one of them.

OK place, the prices are high due to being by the Alamo Dome, but not outrageous. The food is different, not your regular TexMex. We have been here quite a few times since it is close to the Dome, always been ok.

Last night we were at an event in San Antonio... we left, needed a cab..none... We popped into Cuishe intending to have a drink and call a cab!! Very late.. but food smelled awesome!! So...we ordered and were really happy!! We shared the corn cup..different and delish!! Then my husband had the amazing shrimp tacos!! I had a chicken enchilada with mole sauce!! What a pleasant surprise!! Excellent margaritas and mojitos!! And the staff were wonderful!! Forest our server, helped us get a cab!! Ian, the manager came and chatted!! I didn’t get the name of the lovely server who helped us with the online menu.. we will definitely make a point to go here the next time we visit San Antonio!!

Brief family dinner on a weekend evening prior to attending an event at the Alamodome, which is very close. We were promptly seated upon arrival, though at a high top table that we did not request. Service was pretty good throughout the meal. Drinks were excellent, as were the appetizers and entrees. Some great unique items on the menu that you won't find at most comparable restaurants in San Antonio. We will be back!

An excellent experience! The queso fundido with chorizo was a fantastic starter. Loved the La Rosalia drink and the Camarones Cuishe surprised with giant prawns on a bed of Caesar salad. Be sure to try the quesadillas with grasshoppers…a real treat. We were a large party and they handled us with aplomb: Very good service. Highly recommend.

Food is excellent, just take this advice: If you are concerned about prices, ask for the menu and check prices. They will recommend you expensive beverages with no extra value. At the time of check, review your account to make sure they did not add ingredientes you didn’t ask for that add at least the double of price. Other than this, everything was ok.

The enchiladas suizas and papas a la diabla are the best. Great music and excellent service. Thank you, Roger!

The place is amazing, the food was great and the service was excellent. Memo (our server) made sure to give us an excellent and memorable experience

Amazing experience, I considering my self as an explorer both wine and food. If someone asked me to describe the kind of cuisine they serve I must tell fusion prehispanic. All delicious, I tried the bug cacerolle as an entry, it was incredible, also tacos de canasta, and my drink was the amazing cuishe that gives the name of the restaurant (I am not going to tell you what is this, tried better, no regrets). But, let Hector ( the waiter) describe and take you to the magic of the dishes. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

On the way to see UTSA beat UAB, my wife and I were looking for a place to eat near the Alamo Dome. We STUMBLED across "Cuishe Cocina Mexicana" as it opened for business that day. I was not expecting the food or ambiance we discovered inside. I was delighted to try the cuisine, which was unfamiliar to me, but found it new, savory and exciting. The interior decor was simple and polished, exuding a high end feel. The wait staff was friendly and helpful and made us feel comfortable. I highly recommend this location for those looking for a cuisine that is outside the normal parameters of Mexican food served in San Antonio. We visited the location twice that day and will be back again soon.

Hands down the best and probably only real Mexican experience I’ve had in SA.. Being from Mexico City it’s extremely hard to find a place that serves food from there and also gives you an upscale experience and atmosphere.. Everything from the bichos, tacos de canasta, pulpo, enchiladas... Could go on and on! Service first class, variety of Mezcales made me feel in Mexico and the food out of this world!! We’ll be back to keep trying all of the menu!

This spot is perfect for a Thursday night out with friends to grab some delish dinner and amazing drinks ! I recommend the Cantarito drink, there is a shareable size and a personal one.

Food was amazing and beautifully presented . Drinks were delicious as well . Karen provided great service . Definitely a hidden gem in San Antonio.

Delicious food and drinks. Our server, Memo, was wonderful when asked for recommendations and made sure that we were taken care of throughly. He brought out some of the crickets for the table to try and surprised my husband at the end of the night with a dessert and candle for his birthday. Enchiladas suizas, waygu tostada, sopa de fideo were all delicioso!

Karen was great and answered all our questions! Great food, great service! Def a must, even has live music!

Great great service and food , and don’t forget the drinks ! Atmosphere was fabulous, food was prompt, and service was fabulous

Food was amazing ! Service was great! Our service was with Karen and she was kind and informative on the menu. We will be returning !

Definitely recommend to fellow diners as this is a hidden gem! We had dinner here on a Wednesday evening and had a great experience. Not crowded, plenty of room between tables and a nice atmosphere. Our server, Roberto, was simply awesome - happy, enthusiastic and so helpful in recommendations. I had the Sabana de Invierno and could not stop until every bite was gone. Soooo delish! My friend had the Pulpo, which was a Mexican octopus - not only delicious but the presentation was awesome. I am not as adventurous to order such a meal but had a taste of hers and it was fantastic. (I’ll order my own next time.) Although my hubby was less adventurous and ordered the enchiladas with red sauce, he was happy as it was also a very good meal. We left with very full bellies and will certainly return soon!

Absolutely wonderful authentic food. Our server, Karen, was great. She led us through the extensive menu and helped pick a phenomenal dinner. We especially enjoyed the Savana de Invierno.

This place was very good with a lot of specials. Extensive drink menu with all tequilas you can think of. We got the salsa sampler which was very good, the habenero salsa is a spicy one!! Al pastor tacos are for sure something I would order again and recommend, the wagyu taco was average. The enchiladas were a hit at our table, flautas also were good, and quesabirrias were very filling and unique. Overall good vibe with a patio that could also be amazing if open.

We decided on Cuishe Cocina Mexicana for a NICE lunch before the snow. We were there for almost three hours! What an experience our server Marcos gave us! Pronounced varyingly “kwee-sh” or “kwee-shay”, Cuishe is a subvarietal of the Agave karwinskii species of agave. They have 80 tequilas and I think over 100 mexcals. Marcos walked us around the restaurant showing the tools and pix of agave used in making the liquors. The restaurant is beautiful. This is NOT Tex-Mex. This is elevated, regional Mexican dishes that are created by the executive chef to match up with their robust selection of tequila & mezcal. The executive chef shares duties with Torro. Cool! Their two other restaurants (Cuishe & Torro) are located downtown also together. Rather than chips and salsa, they provide an espresso sized warm cup of shrimp consume. I have never tasted anything like in my life! DELICIOUS! The executive chef was changing the menu, so we eat off the one they are creating. WOW. We got two small plates which came out beautifully displayed on one board. Perfect for my wife & I to share without getting stuffed. OUTSTANDING! Again, never tasted anything like it. Marcos, who helped open all four restaurants, spent quality time with us explaining everything: farm, prep, table, etc. The mixologist was also wonderful and personable. A professional! He creates over 600 specialty cocktails. My wife totally enjoyed her VeraCruz & Mexican coffee. I had their nice draft beer. Sounds like they have a great happy hour as well. Dessert was a homemade brownie from homemade Mexican chocolate. WONDEFFUL. Light as a feather. This is dining at it's finest!

Lots of hidden costs in the bill. Diner beware. Extra charges to margaritas —-$18 for Small margaritas! we were so floored. Although the food was ok, the ambience is very noisy! . I would not recommend this restaurant. We felt taken advantage.

I’m not even ashamed to say we came twice in the same day! Our lunch experience was delicious so we came back for dinner and drinks. We tried the cantarito, the Veracruz, and the Xalapa for our drinks. All of them were top notch! Our server Maria R. was impeccable. She provided friendly service with excellent recommendations for food as we are new to the area and were unsure what to try. Everything she recommended was better than expected. We definitely plan to return to explore the remainder of the menu.

Excellent, refreshing food and drinks. Hector, our server, made the experience even greater. Hector, knows the menu, learns your likes and allergies and then comes up with the best recommendations.

Amazing food. We got the flash fried octopus it was so delicious just a touch of heat. Known for their specialty cocktails we got an after dinner coffee drink called (?) spice 43. It was so warm and delicious, and did I mention briefly on fire. Again, every dish they served was better than the last, but the atmosphere was fun and cool. Loved the whole experience.

First of all most of the staff is not wearing proper face coverings! This is the second time we are here and the food is not good, its bland. They had several items from the menu unavailable on both occasions. We shared tacos we wanted half with cheese and half without, and they did not accommodate. We ordered bone marrow and they were dry, so we complained and they did bring us a new order. The artichokes took a very long time the waiter said they were still on the grill, when the finally brought them they were not hot and the butter wasn't even melted, they were just boiled. Jacob had a great attitude and was wearing his facemask all the time. Other than him we had a hard time with the staff not following safety guidelines. We were really hoping to have a good mexican restaurant in town. We will keep waiting.

We had an awesome dinner at this restaurant. Staff were warm and pleasant. We were promptly greeted as soon as we walked in. Wait staff introduced herself once we were seated. She handed out menus and offered water. The dining area is clean and nicely decorated. Tables are well spaced. House cocktails were excellent- fresh tasting and generous with the alcohol. The restaurant has a large collection of tequilas and mezcals. Every dish we ordered was simply delicious. Well seasoned but not salty. We had lengua tacos, octopus, stuffed poblano pepper, queso fundido w/ chorizo and Caesar salad. Service was outstanding. She explained the menu and answered questions about drinks and dishes. Plates were cleared and water replenished when needed. A great place to enjoy good Mexican food.

Awesome food, service and environment. My favorite restaurant in San Antonio as of today. The octopus chicharron and the area Hera chicharron were my favorites

Delicious! The pulpo tacos were outstanding. Tender with great grill flavor. Fresh corn tortillas taste like they came from your abuela's cocina.

Karen was very attentive and made great recommendations! Our entrees were authentic. The location was very close to Staybridge Suites and a welcome sight after flying all day!!

I am not impressed with this place. The service is terrible, the prices are obscene and the food is average. They added an automatic 20 percent gratuity which totally blows because the service was horrid. The drinks were very overpriced and horrible. Worst margaritas ever. I gave them a 2 because the food was not terrible.

We were visiting our daughter's family in San Antonio from Virginia Beach. My daughter had the afternoon off so we decided on a long, leisurely, delicious lunch in the Mexican tradition. Cuishe Cocina Mexicana is a consistently excellent favorite of ours. As usual, the experience was perfect - as was our server Maria - who made it extra special!

Great double date night spot. Enjoyed the eclectic drink menu to set the tone. Several tequila mixers are what we partook in! Chips and salsa were the perfect starter. It came with guacamole and 3 salsas - medium, hot and really hot. All had a more intense level id peppers to drive up the scoville scale. I really liked the hottest salsa and it definitely tingled the tastebuds. For dinner we got the taco platter which came with 12 wagyu steak tacos. The wagyu was cooked perfectly and was so tender and flavorful. Toss some guac and that top level hot sauce on em and it was the perfect taco. We got some street corn too that had bone marrow mixed in. Delicious for sure and the sneaky addition of the marrow was perfect! Later in the evening, a live band came on stage for some entertainment. The overall restaurant space felt small for a live band and speaker system, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Memo our server was knowledgeable and full of energy. Solid overall experience!

Very different vibe for San Antonio. Not traditional SA Tex-Mex but more Mexico City type cuisine. Food and service were excellent. Drinks very special! Our server Maria R. As professional, very nice and provided excellent recommendations for appetizers, entrees and drinks! The Wagyu ribeye was amazing. Food and drink were well presented and prepared. Party of 6 who all enjoyed the evening!

This Place Is Unreal! From the beautiful interior to the delicious food you will be absolutely delighted with this restaurant.

What an awesome experience this meal was! We decided to go there for dinner last night, and were treated to an incredible Mexican meal. Our server Alejandro truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. He was extremely attentive, and had awesome recommendations. We decide to share a few dishes, starting with their chips and 4 salsa dips. All of them were pretty spicy, but generally, really good. We then shared the octopus, which was one of my favorite dishes there. The Wagyu beef was good, but a little dry, and boring. The steak was also really good, but our favorite dish had to be the Chile en Nogada! Overall, this was such a unique and amazing Mexican restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere very chill, and the service was outstanding! I cant wait to be back there again, and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique Mexican cuisine!

Hector was the best waiter ever! He navigated us through this amazing menu. Tequila here is the best. Food is amazing. Flavors burst on your palate.
Delicious food and great service
The food was excellent. We had the pulpo for an app and it was great. I had a couple street food dishes while my wife had enchiladas for main course. Also super good. I had a carajilo as well and was best one I had since I visited Veracruz a couple years back. Karen provided awesome service!
