If you’re looking for something healthy, don’t go here. I’m sure they have some healthy menu items, but the soul food catches your eyes and tempts you like the devil... in a good way! I can’t say what’s my favorite so far, but the grinder sandwich I’ve had a few times and love. I will be going back over and over again. Great for brunch and the outdoor seating is beautiful and a really fun atomosphere.

This place was rockin' with families, kids and groups of friends all having a good time. Our date night was a little drowned out, but the food and the service was great. Best fish-and-chips ever and the bar served a decent cocktail. Would go back. But maybe earlier to avoid the family clamor.

We arrived at 12:30pm on Sunday, Oct 27th and asked for a table outside as we had our dog with us. They have two outside options, we wanted the area by the door (which I pointed to) and had 9 open tables. We were told it would be 45 min. When I asked why since there were 9 open tables, I was told they had a list of reservations. We went back at 12:45 and put our name down, and again told it would be 45 min. 15 min later we were buzzed that our table was ready - he was going to have us seated in the other much louder and more crowded outside area. I asked if we could sit in the other outside area, now having 6 open tables. We weren't led to a table for two, but told to choose between two tables for 4. I don't understand why this even had to happen. I didn't appreciate the aloofness of the host, nor the fact that they clearly did not listen. When we left, there were still 6 open tables outside. Also, the fish and chips just did not taste right, I didn't finish my meal and was sick the next day.

After a long day of meetings our team relaxed and had dinner. We tried a nice cross section of the menu and deserts and everyone agreed that it was all delicious.

I had dinner here with my kids recently, they were drawn to Culinary Dropout like moths to a flame by the ping pong and foosball tables, and by the big corn hole space. It's a huge restaurant, very open and despite the near 100 degree temps we were OK outside because of the shade, the misters and the fans. We were there early (still happy hour) so there were a lot of happy hour folks (and happy hour pricing). Like the rest of the Rock Rose area, Culinary Dropout has a lot of young professionals, but there were also several families with young kids taking advantage of the game space. My kids both had the grill cheese sliders, and they really liked them. We all loved the fries, even adding an extra side order to our meals so we could enjoy them more. I had their thai chile chicken wings, I thought they were well-seasoned and nice. I had their version of a Moscow Mule, it was very good. They also have a decent selection of beers, although I was disappointed that a lot of those beers were cans or bottles and not draught. This is a great spot at the north end of the Domain if you're looking for decent comfort food, a group happy hour and/or a fun semi-outdoor space where you can let young kids burn off some energy.

Visited with some work colleagues for appetizers and drinks. Our server was super sweet! There was some great live music.

The menu may not be expansive but it has all the items that you want to fill your tummy and feel sated. We had the fried chicken and it has a unique batter to give it a sweet and salty taste. The portions are just right. The kids menu had the usual items that kids love: mac and cheese, chicken tenders, etc. Lots of drinks available for anytime of day. The music entertainment was wonderful to have as we dined.

Wow!... yesterday’s soup, pierogies, and monkey bread (sticky European style apple and cinnamon bread). Good music and a bit like home in 1967, or was that Alice’s Restaurant.

Bar - dinner - food / relaxed and good We started with drinks at the bar, had our dinner at a ling table with music next to us. Awesome evening

I've been a few times and the wait for a table depends when you go. Fridays and weekends could get lengthy. The atmosphere is awesome!! I love coming here because it's just vibrant and fun. You can sit inside or outside. There are games and music. The staff is very friendly and the food is good. I've been during happy hour, lunch and dinner, and have enjoyed my experience each time. This is located in The Domain, so be mindful of parking when you plan to go.

Very large restaurant and bar with game and entertainment space. Menu is small but includes enough diversity. Tried a salad for lunch which was quite good though the protein was layered at the bottom such that when it was brought to the table I thought they'd forgotten it - but it was there. Service was friendly. Very casual and moderately priced.

All the food we picked: starter, main, dessert was delicious. The coctails are mind blowing (and strong), full of your people, the area has good vibes. I would go back again and try more.

The atmosphere is very hip and fun. Great food and amazing service. Had the Hash for brunch and it was delicious. Would highly recommend this for brunch in the future.

My group of senior friends enjoyed the great happy hour--good drinks and yummy appetizers in a very lively environment. Our waitress, Sky, was helpful and attentive.

My husband and I were staying at the Domain for a few nights to get away, and we had dinner two nights in a row at Culinary Dropout. The space is great, huge outdoor covered patio, an area with games for the kids and adults alike. We loved the small plates and snacks portion of the menu, we had some great food! Drinks were good, entrees were well prepared. The staff was great, our first night the food took forever to come out, which we didn't mind as we weren't in a hurry. However, the staff was super apologetic and we ended up getting free dessert, which wasn't expected, but appreciated. I would highly recommend a trip to Culinary Dropout when you're in town!

Everyone thought this was going to be a fabulous place. Hour wait and all.. But alas, the nachos were so so..and the kale was how shall I say..not as good as one expected. Others enjoyed the butternut squash cannelloni. Although truth be known, it resembled more of a pasta dish to me. But to each his own..So many dishes its hard to describe them all. I just wasn't crazy about the kale..and the dressing was just so so...guess you cannot win them all.

We started with the “Snacks” consisting of sherry glazed beets & goat cheese along with the Strawberry, pistachio & Brie both of which were excellent I followed up with a seared tuna salad, cashew, ginger vinaigrette, wasabi pea, cucumber, red pepper and avocado. The tuna was great the salad was fresh the only thing I could have done without was the wasabi peas which were very hard although they had been cut to small pieces. Also eaten by the others were the pub burger, hot wings and the M. A.C burger all of which were coked to order and delicious!

We try to eat at Culinary Dropout any time we come to Austin for a visit. Contemporary menu with very good food, friendly efficient service and a fun atmosphere. We've never been disappointed. Nice bar scene and a large enclosed outdoor seating area with a variety of games to play. Located in the Domain which is a thriving Retail and Residential Center.

My grandson and his wife had a small celebration at the Culinary Dropout. The Food was excellent along with the service. Champagne to top it off

My steak salad was delicious. The only thing I would do differently is to remember to request the dressing on the side. I loved the dressing but could have used "less" of it. Also ordered an appetizer "pretzels and fondue" which I would highly recommend. Our server was top notch. We were there on a nice day and enjoyed the large outdoor seating area and people watching. We would definitely return in a heartbeat!! Unusual bathroom set up...there was a common hand washing area for both men and women in a large hallway...for lack of a better description (bathroom area was separate of course).

We came here on a Saturday night for a birthday celebration and sat outside (on the covered patio) near the game area. I thought the service was surprisingly good considering we weren't at a conventional table inside. The food was superb. I had the fried chicken and it was out of this world. My husband loved the fish and chips. We had three toddlers in our group and the place was surprisingly kid-friendly. In fact, there were a lot of kids throughout the restaurant. They have Foosball, ping pong and cornhole and there was also a live band that evening. Culinary Dropout is also located right next to a green space where you can take your kids to run around. Overall we had an excellent evening and would definitely go back.

A very popular place in a busy section of Austin although not right down town. For my liking it was far too noisy—had to really talk loud to be heard at your table. It was very expensive for food for the amount you got—the food was good just small amounts. Drinks were expensive a Margarita was $11.00.

liked the menu, was pleased with the food but don't expect to hear any conversation. Band, TVs, concrete floors make this a loud place.

Ugghh I was trying to be good and ordered the delicious veggie laden kale salad and then went downhill with the naughty nachos...ssoooooooo goooooodddd. Bevs were pretty spot on with friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Great staff, food, atmosphere! Came here on July 4th for Sunday brunch. Only had a short wait for a table. Great menu and helpful staff. Had to wait a while for food and restaurant was a bit loud. We loved our brunch and lunch dishes.

There is a very active and social atmosphere at this place, which I usually enjoy. At this location, it just did not completely fit. I ordered the chicken dish, which was $17 I believe. They gave me incorrect pieces, which is not so bad, but it was also not very tasty. It was missing flavor. I have not fried chicken in years, but I could have made more flavorful chicken by simply adding salt, pepper, and flower. Not sure how their process went wrong, but it was devoid of all flavor. The wait time was super long. We would have expected a slightly longer wait because it is so crowded, but from what I have seen it is always crowded when we pass by their location. More staff may be in order. Next, it was hot beyond belief. We sat inside and would have expected a bit of relief, but it turns out it was cooler outside. The waitstaff were ok, but I found it difficult to distinguish which people were staff. I am absolutely ok with staff being able to express themselves through their clothing, but maybe name tags, or a special sticker on the shirt. Not sure, but something should distinguish them. Not sure whether I will return or not, but I am thinking not. Happy eating!

Outstanding food and service. Highly recommend the Pretzel Fondue, Fried Chicken and Brussel Sprouts. Oh, yes, and the Monkey Bread for dessert. Great place for a date, a night out or watching the game. We went early so had no problem getting a table. Any time after 6:00 PM I would get a reservation.

The food was a chain-grade style, with a fun twist! The pretzels and fondue are a must order. I also enjoyed the Moscow mule velocities they had on the menu. The biggest downfall of this restaurant is how loud it is... not a place for conversation!

This is a chain that offers some hip twist on food. The fried chicken with honey was not my favorite course of the night but the kale salad was delicious, the bread and meat dish was great. the desserts were not great either

I ate here a few months ago and I'm quite impressed. The food was made fresh and was exquisite. The whole ambience of establishment was impressive. I will definitely come back again

The Culinary Dropout located in the ultra high-end and extremely popular Domaine Rock Rose District, and is a must stop when you're in Austin. It is such a fun face place for friends, family, or a date. They have great food, amazing craft cocktails, extensive craft beer selection, and an atmosphere that anyone can have a good time in. They have a huge covered patio with tons of fun games like Ping Pong, cornhole, giant Jenga, and so much more.

The location at the Domain with lots of options for other restaurants and great shops is excellent. This is a loud restaurant with music and lots of people, but a laidback atmosphere and personable service. There is an open and covered patio, filled with plenty of seating, including seating at the bar, dining tables and lounge chairs, and also outdoor games. Lots of good menu and bar options for everyone.

I ate here today 7/16 at 3:00. Sat near glass windows where you can watch the kitchen and servers set up your food. Interesting to see the kitchen at work. We saw when our table order was being finished. Then witnessed a server walk by the man setting up the orders and eat fries off my plate. While this may be common practice when patrons can not view, I was mortified. This server handles new plates, dirty plates, and money. Poor practice. If you have glass windows to prep, you should know that people are watching and this is unsanitary regardless.

Although it was busy with holiday shoppers. We had great service! We shared the pretzel Bites, which were tasty, I liked, but the rest of the table didn't really get into.I had the "Chicken Falafel", which was pretty good, although not excellent. My side salad was also tasty. I ordered a mulled winter wine, but it was really sangria (OK, but not special), so it was not at all what I was expecting.

Can came by for lunch after some shopping. The service is awesome. It looks like the staff has a good time at work. The fish & chips are awesome. My daughter had the salmon. She said it was really good... but I didn’t get a bite... she cleaned the plate. Definitely will be back.

Went out for a midweek date night with my wife, and we were less than impressed. Really, the atmosphere was the biggest issue we had, since seating was pretty cramped and not very private at all. It was also very noisy, and surprisingly packed for a Wednesday night. The wait staff was pleasant, and very helpful, if just slightly understaffed. The charcuterie apps were good, and I do actually like the "build your own board" style of it. The food selection was good, but fell a little flat for me. I was really expecting some interesting dishes, but I'm sure that was a problem with my expectations. They had lots of alcoholic beverages, and I sampled a beer that was very good, so that's a plus. I'm an old man too young in life, and I definitely feel like this place is for the young or young at heart. It's a place to be uncomfortably social at, and I just don't really go for that kind of thing. I felt claustrophobic and anxious in the loud, cramped indoor seating, and I definitely wasn't going to sit outside in 100 degree weather. After we left, my wife expressed pretty much the same opinion. Not too many points off, but definitely wanna warn like-minded individuals.

This popular restaurant in the Domain Northside didn’t quite deliver the tasty food I was hankering for this visit. The pork belly nachos was dry and unappealing and the cheese cracklings were basically bagged pork rinds dusted with a very salty cheese powder. I’m not a fan of their appetizers. The burgers passing by looked good though.

The Soft Pretzels & Provolone Fondue was the Best I have Ever eaten! Wow! The Alamo Amber Lager was also very tasty! Other customers also enjoyed ping-pong, bean bag toss, and visiting on the couches. Our waiter, Austin, was friendly & knowledgeable of their menu. I love the laid back style where Austin sat on the booth next to my friend when taking our order. :)

I came here on a Tuesday night with a large group of people. We had about 3-4 tables and partied it up. Our waitress was very accommodating and friendly. Most people snacked on the appetizers all night long. There was Brussels sprouts, wings, cheese trays, almonds, etc. Due to my food intolerance issues I ended up getting the vegan spicy curry later in the evening. Whoa my taste buds were alive and dancing. The meal was flavorful and yummy. "Who needs meat???" should have been the name of the meal. I would highly recommend this flavorful dish for meat eaters to non meat eaters. Overall I like the place but it quite loud inside which sometimes I felt I had to shout so the person across from me could hear me.

Good food and service. From the lunch menu, ordered salmon and trout to determine the taste of fish in practical applications. The portions were smallish. The sides were very small. See pictures. Appears this is a national chain. Music? Had multiple visits from various staff. Fun to watch the chefs at work behind large plate glass.

I really liked the vibe and decor of this British style gastropub. My colleagues seemed to enjoy the cocktails. I ordered the Vegan curry and enjoyed it. However, it was rather soup-like in consistency and so I asked for a spoon instead of a fork and was told there weren’t any spoons available. Um, what? How does a restaurant not have enough spoons when they serve dishes you need to eat with a spoon?

We sat outside and enjoyed watching others that enjoyed the activities on the patio. We had the pretzels and a mixture of cheese, meat, and the bread from the small bites selection. Food was pretty good but a little expensive for what it really was in my opinion.

Fun place to hang out and have a drink. Our food was good but not great, but the atmosphere and people watching is hard to beat.

Always dreamed about eating here every since this place opened. But today was the day to treat my niece to a warm meal. We walk in and run we have to wait a long time for a table but can claim a spot at the bar. We took our chances and got seating. Soon the bartender arrived and gave me the 101 on beer choices and drinks. I decided to try a beer from California since so many of them are moving to Texas. The beer tasted good. They also have local choices too. I ordered fried chicken. Two pieces of chicken was very good and can with mashed potatoes, biscuit, and cole slaw. I recommend this plate. The place itself itself is quite cool. Inside is a bar area where can watch food get prepared behind glass. The outdoor patio is huge and has games to play. It's first come and kids will enjoy it. Seems like families during the day and then the drinking 20 years olds at night. It a must visit place if shopping at Domain NORTHSIDE.

We went with a big group of colleagues and were pleasantly surprised with the friendly service and good food. Their beef steak was absolute best I've ever had, and their platter with cheese and meats was wonderful to the taste buds. The atmosphere was quite nice, but once they had the live music the place became a bit too loud, though the band sounded lovely.

I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant earlier this week (07/18/17). We had a reservation for 15. We were seated promptly. They were able to provide our group with a pre-selected menu. Service was prompt, friendly, and professional. We had the fondue with pretzels to start. Dangerously delicious. I could not stop eating those things. I had the ravioli dish. The ingredients were very fresh and the portion was just right. Some in our party had the fried chicken. They raved about it all night. The banana pudding pie was very good. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. There are corn hole games. We sat outside (covered). The area was kept at a comfortable temperature with misters & fans. I highly recommend this place.

Had brunch and a brunch-type beverage with a friend. We had the cheese pierogis to share, and I had the Cap'n Crunch French toast (I was listening to the kid inside at the time). Service was great and everything was quite delicious. Nice, casual atmosphere. We were out on the patio area, but it was well heated (chilly outside) and comfortable!

I went here recently for a work happy hour. It was super crowded. Service was average as was food and drinks. More of a hang out place vs a place for quality food and cocktails. However....not a bad place. Just a bit of a fancier frat boy vibe here.

The food was mediocre. We had the pretzels and fondue; the salmon entre and a Caesar salad. My cocktail was delicious however.

I rarely write 1 star reviews but it seemed warranted for my recent experience at Culinary Dropout at the Domain in Austin. I originally had a reservation but opted to sit at the bar vs. taking up an entire table for just me. That was a mistake. Perhaps it was just this particular bar staff member, but I was not happy with the service or in this case the lack there of. The bar and restaurant were not even very busy. I ordered the salmon dip and bread from the snacks portion of the menu. I had asked the waiter if he thought it was good and his response was "it's ok" and then he made some comment about it "not being a meal" and so forth. It is on the snack menu. That was really not the problem but I had to ask for cutlery/napkin and he never once checked back in the ask how things were or if I wanted another beverage. I would have ordered another $13.50 drink if he had just stopped by! I gave up and waited and waited for my check with my credit card in hand. Nothing. Finally after sometime I went to the wait stand and asked them if I could pay there. I did let them know of the poor service and they chose to get the manager. (I did not ask for a manager.) The manager was very nice and apologetic and did credit part of my bill, which I did not ask for. Maybe this was just a one off at CD but I won't be back. For the first time ever I did not leave a gratuity. Service was that bad.

We ate here as part of an after work dinner and drinks. Whilst the drinks came quickly, the food service was very slow and there was so much background noise that it was difficult to talk.

Amazing snacks, food, service, and atmosphere. We had a variety of snacks (SO GOOD) as well as the chips and French onion dip (YUM). Would love to go back to try some of their main courses. The food we saw coming out looked amazing as well as watching these guys operate in the kitchen. Watching them roll out fresh pasta dough would definitely force me to try their ravioli! All in all a great experience!

My friend and I were out for a girls day. We had reservations for lunch and were seated promptly. Our server was very nice and helpful with menu items. We had margaritas and the pulled pork nachos. Drinks were good, nachos were tasty but kind if skimpy on the pulled pork. We will go back and try other food items. Great place to kick back and relax. Misters for outdoor seating was a plus.

Nothing wrong with the Comfort Foods here. Our party started with the Provolone Fondue with fresh baked pretzel rolls (large enough to share) then ordered the Fried Chicken (definitely noteworthy) the Kurobuta Pork Ribs (a full rack is served) and the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich (packed with tender sliced beef). Everything was cooked perfectly, served hot and full of flavor. The ribs had a hint of sweetness and fell off the bone. Prime rib and fries were more than enough for one with a small or medium appetite. Fried chicken had crisp skin, was tasty and still juicy. Beware this is not a romantic place because of the noise level and proximity of fellow diners --- it is certainly a "hang out" kind of place. Service was adequate - the only glitch being that the open concept of the establishment made it uncomfortably warm for some in the party. Prices are reasonable given the quantity, quality, preparation and service. Some reviewers have mentioned long waits so if you are set on dining here be sure to get reservations. Enjoy! P.S. - If you like banana cream pie, you will LOVE their's .... save room or get a piece to take home ..... you will thank me.

Stopped in for a beer and a bite. Service and food were both pleasant and inviting. Perogies and Brussels were the recommendation of the bartender and were both outstanding. Thanks Logan!

This isn't the place to come for an easy time at conversation, as the acoustics are horrible. But I figured the food must be worth it, so in we went inside looking forward to fine beer and meat-filled meals. Thursday night at 8 PM, and the place was packed, but we managed two seats in the center. I had a good look at the kitchen, which worked like a machine. I chose the 36-Hour Pork Ribs ($24), and my companion picked the Pub Burger ($13.50). Even though the place was slammed, the waitstaff kept hustling by making sure we were attended well. That was good, because our simple order took a good 25 minutes to turn up. Upon arrival, I found the fries limp and uninspiring. Nevertheless, we both agreed the main events were delicious. A good smoke on the ribs with a complementary sauce kicking slightly at the end. The burger oozed with goodness.

Holy cow - talk about a great meal! I ordered the chicken pasta and brussel sprouts, we also had the steak frites and rainbow trout. Everything was spot on with flavors and cooked to perfection. Atmosphere was great and service was awesome.

We stumbled on this at The Domain and had a great time playing ping pong while we waited for our table. Menu provided good variety for our group. Everything was tasty and GF options were available. Live music was very enjoyable. It was quite cold in Austin while we were there but the enclosed patio was still quite comfortable.

Attended a company dinner. The tequila cocktails were really great! The Margarita, Por Favor is a great example - very nice. The food was very good too.

Ate here on a family trip with the whole family. Probably a more adult venue, but quite family friendly for a bar/restaurant. Tried several of their dishes between us and a couple of their signature cocktails. All very good to excellent depending on which dish and who liked what. This was my first ever Bacon Bloody Mary and as weird as it sounds it probably won't be my last. Fun noisy atmosphere with some games to keep you amused. If you sit outside which is where most of the seating is you may sit under an active misting system which should cool you, but you may get damp.

Place is a lot of fun. Came for food & drinks, stayed for corn hole, food all, and ping pong. Great fun all under a covered outdoor patio. Open air, but shaded. Seared Tuna salad was very good. Friends all liked their food, too. Will definitely be back.

Went here on a Wednesday night with friends. There were ping pong tables and corn hole set up but it was so busy we never got to play. We just went for drinks and stood at the bar because there was no available seating at the bar or around the lounge area. It was very crowded but everyone was friendly and we never waited more than a few minutes for drinks. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and service was quick. I wouldn't mind going back when it's less crowded.

Had dinner and drinks for my Birthday. I'm from out of town and we don't have anything close to this in SLC. Amazing trendy restaurant with excellent food and drinks. The energy was good and I had a really fun birthday dinner.

We went to Culinary Dropout for Sunday brunch and had a blast. The staff was so accommodating and very nice. We sat on the patio and got to watch the little ones playing corn hole. The weather was perfect. I enjoyed the egg and avocado breakfast sandwich and my daughter had the breakfast burrito. Both were quite tasty. Our favorite were the mimosas which our waiter ensured we did not go without. They even had live music which was great! We will definitely be back here again ! Yum !

We were searching for a fun place to take our team while we were in town for conference. They've worked hard - wanted a place to kick off the week right. Knowing that SXSW was in town and we didn't want to go downtown, and also wanting to go to Sprinkles after, we found Culinary Dropout. It was just what we were looking for. Jeremy was our server; and he was ON IT. So kind and helpful answering all of our questions; and put up with our endless comments. He recommended several items on the menu, and we ordered a bunch for things to just keep coming. We started with the pretzel and cheese fondue; brussels sprouts, pierogies and pork cracklings. All was fantastic. The pretzels were soft and warm; the sprouts were a hit and the pierogies were decent. We ended up only having a couple of the pork cracklings but we took them back to the hotel to enjoy later. We ordered a couple of cheeses, a salami and some crusty bread; all were fantastic. The 36-Hour Ribs were up next. They were good; but not like at an authentic BBQ joint. The fried chicken was amazing; and the butternut squash raviolis were the hit of the table. All was fantastic; as were our cocktails. The only thing I will say - the cocktails were a bit pricey; so we each opted for one in celebration and then decided to wait for another cocktail later that night once we returned to the hotel. All in all a great experience and Jeremy made the night. We truly appreciated his hospitality and honesty; he's absolutely amazing. Kudos to Jeremy! I will definitely return when in Austin.

I enjoyed the beer and ambiance. Our server was nice but not impressed by the menu. Come early to avoid the crowds.

This is a really cool place for the whole family. They have a ping pong table outside and some games in the outside patio area which is covered, I assume depending on weather. Weather was pretty wet and cold when we went. Food was pretty good. The service was good and they prices were pretty good as well. The manager will came over and was very pleasant.

I like to go there for happy hour and I sit at the bar they will make my margarita to my specific order.

Great atmosphere! Excellent service. Scratch kitchen and food was very good. We were there for a family birthday and everyone had a great time with the games and very good food and drinks. Super nice outdoor dining and overall domain area is very nice. Kinda like it better than the downtown scene.

We ate from the appetizer menu and they charged separately for everything, even though the menu price appeared to be all inclusive. We ate outside and it was so noisy that we couldn’t have a conversation. The prices were outrageous. Our waiter was excellent. But we don’t plan to go back.

Food is different, but good. The patio is awesome with all the games. We will be back to try more of the menu

In town visiting son, figured we would give this place a try. First of all our waitress was outstanding, she was very engaging and friendly. The food was very good, we had everything from the steak to the hamburgers. The live music was good but way to loud, hardly able to have a conversation. Only negative was the prices of our cocktails , very expensive ! I mean isn't Tito's made locally! Don't think it commands the price that was charged. I would return, but might have a cocktail or two prior! Lol.

It was nice - good service and vibe. Inside was WAY to loud and we had to sit outside which was fine and fun. Food was average and drinks probably less so. All in all I did not feel like I wasted my money, but I was not thrilled.

We had brunch here on a Sunday. Everything was wonderful! Great menu, food, drinks, & service. Highly recommend. It’s also in the Domain, which is a great location for shopping. Make sure you have reservations.

Corporate Hipster-Ville. We waited over 30 min. for our order. The service was almost too friendly with our waitress sitting down at our table to take our order and rubbing my back when asking if I wanted a second drink. Our food was good, but nothing crave-worthy to come running back for. It was a fun atmosphere, like a millenial Dave & Busters, but too loud for brunch.

Yummy, unique food with an awesome drink menu. The snack menu is killer and so is the service. We had the pretzels, sherry glazed beets and Brussel spouts to start. The meatloaf, trout and butternut ravioli for main course. All the copper-less mules were delish. Definitely a great spot. It is really loud inside, so be warned :)

We moved to austin in December and spend a lot of time at the Domain. This restaurant always looked so intriguing and was always so packed. We finally made it last night and was not impressed. We are two foodies from chicago and left disappointed but glad we know now. The atmosphere is VERY loud To the point that the hostess had to repeat herself a few times. We got seated outside at the tables with couches and loved that. More intimate. Ordered drinks and have to say that was my fave. Great craft cocktail menu. Loved the El Matador. Great tequila drink and ordered mine a little spicy. Food...well where do i begin. The wings appetizer was lightly breaded and still pink in some parts ..not good. He ordered the fried chicken and i had the salmon. His was just ok and my salmon was semi dry and not prepared that great. Def overpriced for what it is and foos was below par. Gave review two stars because of cocktails, service , and ambiance. Would come back for drinks but that’s it.

Had a great dinner with family here. We sad outside although it’s all covered and beautifully decorated. We did make reservations, although it was possible to do dinner without. We just wanted to make sure we had a table. The food was delicious! Our appetizer was huge pretzel bites with a provolone cheese fondue. Would definitely recommend to anyone! Service was top-notch, they were very attentive and kept coming to check on us. The fish and chips, fried chicken, and pasta Bolognese were all a hit. Can’t wait to visit again when we’re in the area.

Came here after a rough night and it only took a breakfast bowl to snap me out of it! Of course, the hot coffee and iced water didn't hurt! The breakfast bowl was delicious and hearty. Our server did a great job at a pleasant pace. We would come back here anytime!

A spur of the moment lunch decision found us dropping in to this spot. The outdoor seating was large and had plenty of bits to keep hungry patrons occupied while they waited for a table. We sat inside and it was comfortable but a tad on the loud side. The server was friendly and enthusiastic. The ahi tuna salad was good, but lacked any creativity. The meat and cheese board was excellent.

No question I was surprised about how good the food was. When I had the Smoked Salmon Toast, it was nicely presented, super tasty and the portion good for a light dinner. The restaurant/bar itself is quite big and it has an "entertainment area" with ping-pong, bags, foosball... And live music from time to time. The disappointment was the waiters in the bar where we ate. Oh my... They were extremely slow, did rarely ask if we needed anything and was almost impossible to get their attention without jumping over the bar. Very unfortunate I must say.

Catchy restaurant name. Unique atmosphere, where outdoor sittings are arranged with sofas, and with ping-pong table and other games. but the food we ordered wasn't warm/hot when it supposed to be. good happy hour place.

We were visiting Austin for the first time, and a rainy early evening put a damper on plans to walk around Downtown. So a trip to Domain Northside led us to Culinary Dropout. The wait was long but we found a couple seats at the bar and had a great dining experience. Fun atmosphere, great service, live music and the food and drinks were excellent. It may be a small chain restaurant but it felt like one of a kind.

Impressed with my first visit. Four of us dined here and had great meals. I am not big on ribs, but I was convinced to get the fall off the bone ribs. They literally fell off the bone and were about the most tender ribs I have had. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only improvement I would suggest is the bar. The drink I had was a orange tasting tequila drink. The drink tasted great, but with many upscale places, they focus on flavor which sometimes forgets that it is a drink. Meaning, it would be nice to have a little more alcohol in it. Other than that, I’ll be looking forward to coming here again.

Took too long for our food to come out. Both our waiter and the manager came out to apologize for the long delay. Very few fries accompanied the burger. Also very few fries accompanied the chicken tenders. Chopped chicken salad was good but pricey at $17. Our waiter was excellent and checked on us regularly. Will not come back here for the food

You should go here. Yes, it is loud, but that’s part of the atmosphere. If you don’t like loud, you should go somewhere else. The food and drinks are excellent. Waiter was great, but I did take one dot away for the service being slow.

Had an early lunch whilst at The Domain shopping centre. Great atmosphere with family/friends vibe. Great to meet up for food/beer with games to keep kids entertained. I had the Turkey Pastrami sandwich which I recommend. Breakfast burrito not so popular although grapefruit juice made up for the burrito. There was live music.

We came to this restaurant on a pin interest recommendation and it didn’t disappoint Family of 5 (3 teenagers). We ordered 3 mains and one appetiser and more than enough Food was great. We had ribs, Mac burger and fried chicken Service was faultless

I had the Best and I mean the Best Prime Rib Sandwich. Everything is hand made here even the bread. The bread was so fluffy and airy that I was not stuffed. The prime rib is cooked to perfection. Talk about good ribs 36 hours cooked. I highly recommend giving them a try. I'm pretty sure you will not be disappointed. Also forget about Fireball they make their own. Way, way better. Smooth, easy to swallow, almost reminded me of Apple Pie.

This restaurant was hopping! So fun, people of all ages. We had mixed drinks that were AHHmazing. WE did not eat, but the menu was well priced and looked good! Will return!

The setting is quite casual, with most of the seating outdoors under cover. The food is very good, and somewhat creative. The one drink we had, a blueberry daiquiri, was incredible! We had three snacks: cured olives (only two varieties, but tasty), deviled eggs (creamiest filling ever, maybe whipped with cream or something), and something described as strawberries, brie and pistachio. The latter dish presented something that would not be identifiable as brie; I speculate that they took the inside of a brie and blended it to a cloud-like effect with cream, but I didn't ask. It was delicious. Every component, from the brie-thing to the pistachios to the sweet-tangy sauce on the dish made the whole a great deal more than the sum of its parts. We went on to have the cheddar & potato pierogies, which vanished too quickly for me to taste, so I assume they were good. The seared tuna salad seemed like a tame choice, but their version was deliciously different, highlighted by wasabi peas. The smoked salmon couldn't have been more perfectly cooked, and the accompaniments were perfect and generous. I was told that the Italian grinder and grilled bistro steak were very tasty, and the portions were quite large for both. I didn't bump this up to 5 stars for two reasons. The servers, although very pleasant and attentive, seemed fairly unfamiliar with items on the menu, and it isn't that large a menu. My other point of displeasure was because I found having to eat outside (which I didn't realize I'd have to do since I'd made a reservation) pretty uncomfortable on a day that reached into the upper 90's.

I traveled to Austin for business on Saturday, August 17, 2024. While at the Domain in North Austin, I decided to shop and grab a meal. At approx 5 pm, I stopped at the Culinary Dropout for a to-go order. Unfortunately, the ribs were incredibly dry, as if they had been cooked a week prior. They tried to mask this by drowning them in extra sauce, but it didn't help. Even the fries were cold. The coleslaw was passable. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I won't be returning.

A big open place with a large patio and lots of fresh air dining, we stopped in for a quick lunchtime drink. we ordered a couple of gin and tonics, friendly bar staff who pour a very generous drink. There are lots of large-screen T. Vs for sports fans at the Front Culinary Dropout bar. Great atmosphere lots of comings and goings defiantly a happening place. TIP: On busy days if they are full ask to sit at the bar. If you’ve found this review helpful, I would appreciate a thumbs up below.

Was in Austin for work and had dinner with our team here. Happy hour specials were really good. Margaritas and queso on point. Fajitas and Diablo pasta were the two winners of the night. A really nice dinner.

You can't go wrong with Culinary Dropouts!! The service was amazing and food delicious! My husband and I made reservations ahead of time for dinner, but arrived early. There was quite a crowd, but the place is large and we had no problem being seated. We ordered the fried chicken plate to share along with the pretzels with cheese fondue for an appetizer. Along with that, we also had their Brussels sprouts and for dessert got Monkey Bread. Every Single Item was Fabulous!!! I highly recommend Culinary Dropouts!! You won't be disappointed!!

I had a business lunch here earlier this week and had the French Dip Sandwich. It was very good although it went light on the meat in the sandwich. The meat on each half of the bun only covered about 50% of it. The fries it came with were also quite tasty.

Fun place to be with friends. Food is ok, not the best Fox Concept restaurant, but atmosphere takes care of the food. Outside bar has games. Lot of kids though so sometimes don's go because of that.

This is one of the better places in Austin. The pierogies are out of this world and they have great beer as well. This is one of my favorite places to visit while in Austin.

Excellent location, with great atmosphere. Wide variety of drinks, and several activities including a cornhole court and other games, was great for socializing.

The overall experience was fantastic. Very diverse menu done expertly. The vibe was upbeat. Open concept kitchen.

Most times, it is really difficult to distinguish meals from one place to another. Culinary Dropout had some of the best salmon that I have had, and I often pick this meal as I travel around the country. Service was great, and the old fashioned solid as well.

We celebrated my birthday with a party of 10. We made prior reservations. The service was great and food amazing.

The atmosphere at Culinary Drop Out was fun and easy going. The kids (young and old) can play and eat. The fried chicken was really good and enough to share.

All 3 of us loved our breakfast, I love to cook & my hubby used to run a restaurant. Good coffee in a pottery cappuccino cup, tall big waters. Ordered a cup of corn chowder, smelled delish and we all loved the combo of flavors. Ordered the breakfast sandwich on a soft roll, hash brown patty, avo, egg..great home fries cooked perfect! Apple Bread Pudding French toast was amazing (& I’m not a bread pudding fan!) crispy corners, apples cooked perfectly. Chicken and buttermilk biscuit (had a brown not white gravy) good.

We had dinner here and really enjoyed it! A fun, lively outdoor area, great service and good food! An interesting menu with lots of variety.

Stopped here while shopping at The Domain. It was one of the few restaurants that allowed children under 21. They had great drinks and live music. We only had the pretzel/fondue and kids chicken fingers and fries but both were very good. Great service too and fun outdoor seating area.

Best place to visit with friends for a happy hour, nice Happy hour menu, huge food portions. Very busy place but is worth it.

First time to this spot. Comfortable atmosphere, tasty drinks and food, very good service. A good option for North Austin folks.

The subculture cuisine atmosphere of Culinary Dropout is directed toward the Generation Z crowd having a cool vibe. It’s a great hangout with games to play and listen to music, and the staff makes you feel welcomed. The problem you will find is the secret is out and there always seem to have a wait list. Be sure to arrive early for lunch or dinner. I have dined here many times and love the Fried Chicken, but today I wanted to try the Chopped Chicken Salad. I asked for a sparkling water and got a cold bottle of Mineragua with a lime to self insert. It was presented very well and enjoyed it. This place seems all about presentation to the eye where it has cool decor and can be a kitchen watcher through a wall of glass. However the food takes centerpiece. My salad arrived and it was a big bowl of deliciously mixed ingredients. Just on top I saw grilled chicken chunks, bacon, avocado, lettuce, cheese and an egg. The bacon bbq ranch dressing was perfectly matched where the salad was full of flavor. This is a perfect to bring kids to where they can feel included versus the more adult hangouts on Rock Rose Ave.

We visited here with friends for brunch & it was fantastic. Everything was made fresh. Everyone thought the food, drinks and service were phenomenal. Also, it is located in a great convenient location in the Domain. Highly recommend.

Yes it is crowded, for a reason! My second time there on a trip to Austin. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time! New menu items since last year and I was not disappointed last year and certainly not this year as far as the food! The service is slow but it’s because they are super busy! The slow service is definitely worth the wait for food! We ordered a variety of food and shared it all. But still my absolute favorite is the ravioli!!!

My husband ordered the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. His chicken was warm and the potatoes were lukewarm at best. I had the fish and chips but with mashed potatoes. My potatoes were cold and the fish was in desperate need of salt. The server took my potatoes and had them reheated. They were minimally warmer and it took so long that I was done with my meal when they came back. I was excited to try this place for my birthday dinner only to be very disappointed. The cole slaw was good and I don't typically like cole slaw.

Great food, great beer and AMAZING service! Came solo after work and sat at the bar. Freddy at the bar made some recommendations that all turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for. Had the deviled eggs and pesto pasta dish. Absolutely amazing. Thanks will be back for sure.

It was awesome. The patio was wonderful place to sit. It rained yesterday but the patio covers were great. It was a fun time. Loved the food. The portion sizes were amazing.

We wend for dinner, had fried chicken, ribs and Korean steak, all we fabulous. Went back Sunday morning for brunch and it was just as wonderful!

We went here as we were staying in the Domain. The reviews were pretty solid so we checked it out, and I'm glad we did. This place is unique and fun, not to mention the fact that they have great food, service, and a fun backyard area to play games. Located in the Domain, it's pretty easy to walk here from any of the hotels. We ended up sitting outside near the cornhole games. It's a cool place because there are a ton of TV's if a good sporting event is on, and you can play backyard games, as well. If you're a beer drinker I'd encourage you to try the brown bag special.... it's a can of something for $1.95... and elicits a lot of laughs. I ended up with a Lone Star and got some chuckles... see the picture. Cocktails here are incredible, the food from the menu is great. My GF had ravioli (a summer dish) and I did the baby back ribs. Both were awesome. The cocktail list is pretty expansive and the waiter was a totally cool guy. I would come back here if I were in Austin again. Definitely recommend.

A totally Austin kind of place. Live music, good food, not too expensive drinks and a staff willing to please. I'd strongly suggest choosing some apps from the extensive "shopping list". Our party of six had no complaints about food. Portions were big enough, without being ridiculous. Lively vibe was also cool.

Culinary Dropout is fantastic. I'd call it industrial urban chic which is fits Austin just perfect. We sat outside in the covered patio that had fans and water spritzers. Like a outdoor picnic. I loved it. The food is standout and we ordered a lot and pretty much waddled out the door. -Pork Belly Nachos- Yes please -Kale Salad - becuz we're healthy ;) -Pub Burger- harvati and bacon YUMMMM -Fried Chicken platter - Chicken is brined to juicy heaven. We literally were fighting over the white meat it was so tasty. Biscuit-- enough said. YUM! -Chocolate S'mores Pudding w/ marshmallow fluff, pecan toffee, graham cracker -Basic Vanilla Sundae that is the size of your FACE! =) Service was top notch and the GM Will went above and beyond during our visit and we also got some food education behind the inspiration of the dishes. #customer4life #yourewelcome

The rating is due to the poor customer service at the hostess stand. We dined on a Friday evening and were quoted a 45 minute wait . I checked back after 45 minutes and was told in would be an additional 10 minutes. An hour and a half after we initially arrived I was told that I was sent a text message and our table was given away. We were seated but I had the sense that I might have received better treatment if my skin pigment were different. The noise level is quite loud. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts and the pretzel fondue. I wouldn't suggest the perogies. We sat along the kitchen window with the red couch. There is a plethora of far less comfortable seating from wooded bar stools to metal chairs. The cadillac margarita was tasty, but the soiled dove was a head scratcher. The menu stated that it was made with grapefruit soda but it arrived with a canned premixed Paloma beverage. I had the MAC (fancy big mac) burger and my companion had the roast beef sandwich. The portions were good and both were delicious.

We needed a place to gather a large circle of friends to celebrate an engagement. We wanted something casual, dog and baby friendly. This was the perfect place with a mix of lounge seating and tables. I really want to commend our server Peach who took such care of us with patience and kindness. Also serving us was Ian and Bailey. When we wanted to do a champagne toast with lots of glasses needed for everyone, they were more than accommodating; actually they were genuinely happy to help us celebrate. Yes, the food and drink was good at Culinary Dropout, but what made our experience great was our servers! Thank you!

I had brunch here that turned out to be so good, I returned the second day as well. While the prices are not terrible here, they may be a bit more than your typical breakfast place.. and breakfast type foods is only a portion of the menu. Looks like a really fun place to go in the evening as well. Full Bar, Full Menu.. the wait staff were amazing nice and really took care of you. Great place for kids too.. there are games, corn hole, ping pong, etc. In door seating and a great patio for outdoor seating.. Pet friendly.

We decided to meet a friend and their kids for brunch at Culinary Dropout. The kids enjoyed their egg sandwich and chicken strips. I loved my Turkey Pastrami and the ladies eagerly ate their seared tuna salads. All around tasty food. Service was great and considering how busy the patio area was, we really appreciated the service. My iced tea never ran out!

Been to this restaurant twice now and both times I've had the pork butt nachos -- they are absolutely delicious! Some of the best nachos that I've ever had. I didn't think nachos with pork on them would be good, but they are incredibly good. This place is always busy and pretty noisy, but I'll go again and again just for those nachos. And the wait staff has been friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Ate here tonight with friends. Showed up early and had beers and played games in the waiting area. Once seated appetizers were really good and food was great. Service was better than I have had in several visits to other places!

Went in with my daughter on a rainy night so there was no wait. The restaurant was still surprisingly busy and had a great vibe. The hostess was prompt seating us and immediately the server, Sydney, brought extra napkins to help us dry our arms off from the rain. Pros- excellent service by Sydney and the hostess. Good drinks and fairly priced. The pretzel appetizer with cheese fondue was tasty and large. Cons- the rest of the food was not very good. Caesar salad was bitter. I had the Korean steak... very fatty and stringy. Odd. Glad we checked it out. Would maybe go back for cocktails and to hang out on the patio but never for dinner.

Great location in the Domain Northside. Casual food in very hip restaurant. Beet appetizer was excellent and the turkey pastrami sandwich with fries was very good, as well. Service was attentive and staff was very friendly. Outside patio had several outdoor games. Will definitely return.

The flavors are amazing! I enjoyed the vegan curry; non meat dishes often leave me wanting more but not this; it was awesome!!

This is not the place for family. We were seated inside in the alcove area after the end of the bar. We had 6 adults and four children. All wait staff was dressed in non-conventional restaurant attire, some were scantilly dressed in sexually suggestive attire or caberet style. The biggest offense was the small young male bartender with long light brown hair dressed in low rise pants and a short "belly shirt" which exposed his lower chest to his abdomen just above his genitals. His unprofessional behavior was disgusting, bordering on sexual foreplay. He kept bending over and gyrating his hips and shaking his butt when he took bar orders. He kept touching one of the wait staff on his face and body and making kissy faces. We were all disgusted by his inappropriate and unprofessional behavior. We felt we had accidently stumbled into a gay bar. We will never be back. This happened after 6pm Monday evening, Oct. 27th 2025.

I had a great experience there tonight. It was all because of the manager. He promised and delivered. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Club sandwich. The service was better than the food though. I will go back and reward them for a job well done with my patronage. I also had a side of tomato soup.

Following a recommendation, we tried this restaurant during our first trip to Austin. The menu is excellent - a great mix of tex-mex, pub food, southern eats, and American. A warning, however, the portions are big! We tried the brisket nachos & fried chicken, and split both between two of us. Both were EXCELLENT and only made better by a specialty pink cadillac margarita. If you're in need of some good southern food I would highly recommend. The surrounding area and busy atmosphere only added to the fun!

This restaurant visit with my wife was absolutely the best overall meal I have had in a while and that is saying something. The food is so unctuous and deliciously full of flavor! The chefs are really making and serving plates of food presented with pride! We started with the soft pretzels with provolone cheese fondue. Good grief, this was ridiculously scrumptious. I couldn't stop eating these salty, chewy pillows of deliciousness. And the cheese? Heavenly. Smooth, creamy and flavorful. I ordered the pub burger and it was great. Not the best burger ever, but certainly not disappointing. Flavorful, cooked perfectly and topped with bacon, cheese and bbq sauce. The medal goes to the Fried Chicken. The batter is the most interesting and crispy, crunchy. The chicken is tender and juicy with a biscuit and honey drizzle. Best ever Chicken! I can't recommend this place enough. I'm so disappointed we don't have one in DFW. I'd be a regular.

Located north of the river, at the Domain shopping area, with lots of parking. Nice big patio, outdoor games, decent size bar. Friendly staff, and yummy southern flare influenced food. Reminded me a bit of Whisky Cake in Dallas. Didn't have a bad dish! Yum and fun all in one place.

This place just screams COOL! Games to play while waiting on a table, outstanding food in a diverse menu and the drinks are inventive. Beer selection on draft could be better.

A group of 5 of us decided to stop in for lunch and a few adult beverages while we were visiting from Dallas for the weekend. We took a table on the patio and luckily they have great misters so we stayed cool. They have a wide variety of drinks, however, the menu was a little ODD for my taste so I opted for a side salad w bacon added. It was DELISH and the table enjoyed their raviolis. We wanted to order those pretzel bites!!! they looked so good. I wanted to leave a review because although I do not remember our server's name, he made this visit SO WORTH IT. He was patient and helpful w our group as we were so undecided on drinks and food. He was pleasant and such a great guy!! I will be back in 2 weeks and get his name!! See you guys then.

From the drinks, to the service to the food, I just love this place. I went to Culinary in Arizona when I lived there and always loved the vibe but in Austin it seems even better. Funky, fun, vibrant, alive. Great experience all around. The roasted salmon on any of the salads is an absolute go to for me.

My husband and I visited Culinary Dropout on a Wednesday around 2pm. It wasn't very busy, so we were seated right away. The woman who seated us was really nice. Our server was a nice young guy who was very friendly and patient whilst we were looking over the menu to decide what to get. My husband is British so of course he went for the fish and chips! I just wanted something small, so I opted for the crusty bread with garlic oil & balsamic. We didn't have to wait very long for our food. The crusty bread was so good and cooked to perfection! My husband enjoyed his fish and chips. It also came with coleslaw which he said was really tasty. (Usually he isn't big on coleslaw.) The chips (fries) were crispy and well seasoned. The fish was battered perfectly and had a nice crunch. The restaurant itself was very clean and has a great vibe about it. We loved the decor so much! They also had fires going where they have their outdoor seating area. My husband enjoyed how you can see where all the chefs/cooks are cooking. We would definitely recommend Culinary Dropout if you're in or around the Domain area. Prices suit the Domain area.

It's a fun place for dinner with space to play games (literally). As a result it can be loud but that just adds to it's charm. Kids will love love it. The food is great & so is the service. In drinks, I would recommend La Vida Verde for a 'green' twist on the usual vodka cocktails. Do order their house fries. These are the 'British' fries (or crisps) that come with an awesome dip. We did try their Brussels sprouts - Korean style & ended up sharing the fried chicken which was finger licking good. All in all, deserves a repeat visit.

Met up with a large group of friends and the atmosphere is great. The Between you and me cocktail is delicious. There are a ton of kids and it seems like a good family/ large group place. Really enjoyed it, but it was so super busy so come here if you plan to chill out and hang for awhile playing foosball or washers.

My husband and I had lunch here with our Yorkie on the patio. It was a nice patio area with a section where kids could play games. The service was friendly; the server even brought a bowl of fresh water out for my pup. We had the house chips and fresh onion dip. YUM! And we also had the beer battered fish ‘n chips. Best beer battered fish I’ve had, ever! Usually, the fried batter tastes greasy so I end up peeling it off the fish, but this was a delicious golden brown texture, not at all greasy, and the fish tasted fresh and not over cooked. It was soooo good! I think the place overall is a little pricey, but we were at the Domain, so I guess it makes sense, since all the surrounding restaurants are just as pricey. I do recommend this delightful family and pet-friendly pub!

Some of the best food in Austin. Be warned: the plates are HUGE. I had the fried chicken, 3 big pieces and 2 sides, enough for 2. My wife got the rack of ribs, with 3 good racks and 2 sides too, also enough for 2. Both were excellent, but left us with no room for dessert! The only downside was the noise level, intense sitting inside. I'd recommend going outside, but you may need to mention that when you make a reservation or get on the wait list.

Loved this swanky spot at the domain. We stopped in for an afternoon snack (truffle cheese and bread) and cocktails and they were super tasty. We will def be back for dinner! Dog and kid friendly! Lots of games the kids can play

I went to Cullinary Dropout on a Tuesday night with my 2 adult daughters. We shared 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and had drinks. Everything was very good. Service was great and the atmosphere was fun. There were kids and dogs on the covered patio and fun was had by all. Would recommend!

Dog friendly bar restaurant in midst of domain town center. Very busy with good casual vibe. Make a reservation to avoid wait.

This is a fun restaurant located in the Domain in Austin. They have a good menu of craft cocktails (I recommend the pistols at dawn) as well as beer and wine. This is definitely a family style restaurant so plan to share some dishes. My favorite dishes are the deviled eggs and the Korean Rib Cap. This meat melts in your mouth. They also have an excellent selection of meats and cheeses to make up your own plate. Finally, if you are looking for ping pong, bags, or any other games, this is the place to go!

Cool vibe to this place and the three of us enjoyed our lunches. 3 lunch entrees, 2 glasses of wine and one draft beer was $90 before tip. Service was very good. Our one big complaint was the noise level. Really hard to hold a conversation. We wanted to sit indoors, but the noise level was deafening - so we ate out on the patio area. Was still touch to hear.

We stumbled on Culinary Dropout before it opened and they invited us in for a tour. We have been back several times. They food is great but we love the perogies! My daughter and I usually share them. They are three good sized perogies - they aren't quite like grandma used to make but so yummy, Their drinks and beers are good and they have a fun outdoor area with games. We have been several times with live entertainment. Always fun! Wish we had a picture but we tend to start eating before I remember!

Sat behind the taps as it was the only place at the bar. The bar tenders were very attentive - to the regulars to my right and the 20 year old blond to my left. Received my first cocktail and appetizer no problem. Then I became invisible. Waited 15 minutes just to close out my tab. It was funny because every employee came to sample the new Berry beer on tap. No one looked past it to me. Bummer because the steak tacos looked good.

Food was very good, a fun atmosphere. The service was bit slow but overall a very good dinner. It is in a nice area to walk around in.

Culinary Dropout does not disappoint- great vibes, family friendly, awesome scratch menu. Tasty! Great service!

I had heard so many people rave about this place, and while the food was decent, I think the hype is far fetched. the menu does not accurately describe the plates, and they were very underwhelming. Interesting atmosphere for the type of crowd it's looking for. birds flying everywhere in the enclosed outdoor section. Waiter was very nice but her co-workers were not welcoming whatsoever.

We were here with family on a Monday evening. Excellent service. Atmosphere is very casual and high energy. Food is above average. Some items such as rainbow trout, chicken wings, monkey bread dessert were very good.

Folks of all ages will have fun here. Great variety of cocktails and some unusual and tasty choices of food. Staff were super attentive even during busy times. Cornhole games out on the screened-in patio. Super music. Enjoy!

What a great hangout in the Domain, great food and games to play (I was the cornhole champ for my company outing, yasss). Beer is nice and cold and music is solid Texas. Great place to visit for some food and drink.

This is a dog friendly place with good food. The huge open air patio has plenty of room for sitting with the mutts. There's also a large area for games for kids and adults alike.

This place is fantastic! Every dish is created from scratch and every drink they have on their menu was created by one of their bartenders. The menu isn't huge, but EVERYTHING looked and sounded amazing. The servers are very knowledgable and are happy to answer any question. Honestly, the value is good for what you're getting. We got several things and we LOVED all of it. This is definitely on my "must go back" list. NOTE: a reservation is best way to ensure a seat.

We were looking for place close to our hotel so I checked both trip advisor and yelp to find one. We saw this place had good rating so we decided to come here. Very nice place, great service and the food was outstanding. I had the Salmon meal was delicious. I highly recommend it.

I had heard great reviews and decided to check it out for myself. It was wonderful! The service was great and my server answered all my questions about the menu. He recommended a wonderful cocktail, room service. The pierogis were delicious—a highlight of the meal. The trout was a very large serving and had a wonderful flavor. Will definitely be going back.

Came into Austin for my daughter’s birthday (both my lovely daughters are at UT) and we chose Culinary Dropout to dine and celebrate. We started with the muscles which were great and then all branches off and order completely different dishes. What happed doesn’t happen often, we found ourselves sharing each others plates. Food was great and the service was spectacular!!!! Definitely a revisit soon. Thanks guys for making my daughters celebration extra spectacular!

We met with out-of-town friends at Culinary Dropout. While we waited, two of our party had great fun playing games. Loved the food, the vibe and service was good. Also, parking is so easy in the Domain.

Loved sitting outdoors and staying cool with the fans. Ordered the Perogies, loved them! The fish and chips were good, but the coleslaw was bland. Loved the waiters! We will be back.

Went for dinner and the menu was varied, and all 5 meals were prepared. Turket pastrami was especially good. A nice kids menu too. Drinks a little on the skimpy side.

You must start with the pretzels and cheese fondue. The pretzels are freshly baked, and the fondue makes the perfect accompaniment to them. We had salads, pasta, sandwiches, and the green chile stew. We are “green chile stew” stew snobs . . . But this unique dish with an egg and corn meal made a fabulous combination! Our only complaint was how loud it was .. . A very busy restaurant on a very busy night, but the food made it worth waiting for!

Enjoyed lunch with friends and had a marvelous time. When I arrived my initial reaction was not good as it appeared to be another noisy crowded restaurant. I was WRONG! Somehow this restaurant has created an open, casual and vibrant environment that is welcoming and fun. Service staff is great, menu is varied and tempting. The entries at our table did not disappoint - portions were generous and food was very fresh. I look forward to returning soon.

I loved the egg sandwich. The avocado was a nice touch. The sandwich was delicious. The glass used to serve the grapefruit juice could have been larger. I will definitely go back again.
loud dinner
I met a girlfriend here for an early dinner. It is very loud. It actually get less loud the later it is. I got the meat loaf and it came with green beans, mash potatoes and gravy. It was a bit salty for my taste. Waitress was friendly. I ordered the Rose wine and it came in a can. Something different. I think if you are coming with a group this would be a great place. For a one on one dinner, it was a bit too loud. Next time I have a group event in North Austin I will keep this in mind. It has an indoor and outdoor area. The indoor area really isn't that much indoors as they have the big garage doors open.
