Late lunch

Stopped by to try this new place and was not disappointed. The quality of the Entrees were top notch. We had Salmon, Pizza and Prime Rib Sandwich, save room for Dessert! Sever was very informative and did not rush us.

Great place to try lots of variety.

Delicious food and a great vibe. I will return. The menu had lots of options and the drink options also excellent. Had appetizers and dinner. Service was great, and the prices very reasonable. I had the fried chicken and would try a different option next time, seemed too dry, but could have just been a fluke. Will return and try something different.

Pretzel bites were good

We went for a birthday. It was hot outside and the hostess who opened the door for everyone had my friend stand out in the heat and give the info to her regarding the reservation, which she inputted on an iPad. We then walked in and there were three other people at the host stand and they proceeded to ask if we had reservations, that should have been our first sign that there is a lot of staff, but they are not working together. Once we were seated, we noticed a lot of servers walking around. None were ours, we sat there for a while and our sever appeared and said she would be back later. Once she finally re-appeared , she was friendly. Everyone liked their drinks. My friend asked for a carafe of water for the table, and our server was told to tell us it was against health code to have water carafes?!?! Just say you don’t have them, don’t make up a story like that when other restaurants in Dallas do provide water carafes. Our food took so long, they provided pretzel bites, which were great. My friends fried chicken was too greasy - no one else had issues with their food - it was just OK. My breakfast sandwich was ok, but it made me sick. My friend did let them know the issues we had, and they offered to provide him gift cards (in addition they did comp his meal and a few drinks) - but none of us would be willing to go back.

...for an early dinner. The pretzel fondue was a tasty, unusual starter. Not a fan of the parking situation - nothing against offering valet for those so inclined, but seeing an empty, coned-off parking lot next to the front door is irritating. Then it gets really silly when the valet retrieves a car and drives it 20 feet. The ribs were praised for being tender. The pizza was given a thumbs up, as was the chopped chicken salad. The prime rib sandwich was good, although the au jus had a slight off-flavor & was not piping hot on arrival. Sandwich tasted better on its own, without dipping - which kinda defeats the whole point of a French dip sandwich. French fries were inconsistent - some were fresh, hot, and crunchy, others were lukewarm cardboard, which was odd given it's a pretty small serving. Lively, trendy vibe to the place, but it was too loud for all in our group to converse & hear each other, so keep that in mind. Service was friendly. Our drinks and pretzel fondue arrived promptly, but it seemed like a long gap before getting our mains. Overall, an uneven visit, but your results may vary...

Good brunch

It was super delicious food - the drinks were good but out of the box which was cool to experience and try. We went for brunch and enjoyed the cool vibes and it was a good environment to catch up with family and friends. We sat in a long booth/table but unfortunately it was close to one of the doors so every time it opened we got a really cold chill. Recommend to them if they would ask people to use the one entry next to hostess versus multiple entry points.

A Very Pleasant Surprise

The Culinary Dropout was a very pleasant surprise. We dined on fried COD, fried chicken and the prime rib dip, which all 3 were excellent. The service was very good. A large selection of specialty cocktails were on the menu as well. The restaurant caters to the younger crowd and has a great bar scene, although it is a bit noisy. We shall return.

Amazing food, drinks and weekend atmosphere!

Friday night happy hour was such a great deal, with the most amazing drinks, tasty appetizers and live music. Service was friendly and speedy. We had such a fun time there, we went back on Saturday and enjoyed our time just as much!

Below Average - Disappointing

Culinary Dropout is appropriately named. I chose the brussels sprouts as an appetizer. Very lazy preparation to not cut off the hard stocks and were swimming in some kind of strange buffalo sauce. I chose the pepperoni/sausage pizza and again it appeared as though some high school kids unboxed a frozen Red Baron pizza and said here you are. Very disappointed. Hope they do a tremendous bar business.

New restaurant in the Design District that is worth trying.

Spacious, airy restaurant that, while part of a nationwide chain, is new to Dallas. We ate brunch there during its first week of opening and the service was great. The menu, both food and beverage, was eclectic. We will go back.

A good choice for lunch in Dallas

First impression: the decor is modern industrial softened by glass and leather. It was crowded with patrons but the soft touches absorbed the sound so pleasant conversation was possible. Our server was quick to approach the table even though the friends I was meeting had not yet arrived. My cocktail, a Valentine special with tequila, ginger agave and raspberry was well balanced with just enough sweetness. I ordered the brussels sprout appetizer which had a gochujang cilantro seasoning. It was a generous portion to share with the table. My entre of steak frites came out well plated and perfectly done. The fries were hot and salty, just right! My friends had fish and chips and Bolognese. Both were generous portions and reportedly well prepared. We opted to share the caramelized banana bar for dessert. It was velvety smooth with bruleed banana slices on top, delicious!
