My friends and I had lunch here recently and it was amazing. We were a large party of 7 and they had us seated quickly -- even on a Saturday. Their bar is quirky and fun and their food is off the charts. I ordered the crawfish etoufee and oh my -- just delicious. The server had no problems with separate bills and was very friendly and helpful.

Best Cajun restaurant in Central Texas. The food is superb. Small privately owned business that takes a great deal of care in food preparation.

The food is always excellent. I always order the same items and they are always the same delicious. Love the place.

Food, service and prices are consistently great. I always enjoy visiting Cypress Grille. Great place to meet with friends.

The staff is always so friendly, and the food is delicious (I should put that in capital letters!); my favorite is their Crawfish Delight and Crawfish eggrolls, but every food I've had there is a genuine treat! I also always admire the artwork on the walls, which come from local artists and are frequently changed.

Cypress Grill is my favorite restaurant in the Austin area. I grew up in south Louisiana and the food here takes me home, especially the po-boys. Cypress Grill also serves delicious seafood pastas.

As always, the pancakes are primo. Others may like cornmeal or potato pancakes but I like the old fashioned flour ones and Cypress Grill just seems to get it right. Especially since the mystery of the switched baking soda/ baking powder lids was solved. The pancakes are fluffing fluffy again. For a while I was thinking they may be trying to make bad crepes. Not a good 2 weeks. If you go, all the wait staff are great, but my wife and I really like Jeff. He's knowledgable about the latest menu items, friendly and is always willing to share photos of his new rather large dog (or small horse). Enjoy.

Met a friend for lunch here today. Server was the best: accurate, speedy, and great sense of humor. Crispy, juicy, shrimp po boy for me and salmon salad for friend. Artichoke dip was a yummy way to prepare for the main course.

Order was delivered Long John Silver Quality at 2+ times the price Any person from Louisiana would be ashamed to serve this

Our usual great breakfast was complimented by the fast, professional and friendly service provided by Josh. Our favorite breakfast place in Austin. The Bayou Breakfast is our go-to choice that includes eggs to order and 3 side orders, all for $11. Great food, very reasonable prices and a friendly staff makes for an enjoyable Cajun dining experience.

Went for lunch with family. We totally enjoyed it. We had the crawfish eggrolls; petite jambalaya with red beans & rice; chicken & sausage gumbo; atchafalaya catfish over dirty rice with a side of mustard greens. Our server, Sherell, was very attentive. I recommend calling to reserve for lunch. It was quite busy.

Moved to SA, but I come eat there when I visit Austin every time! It’s…kindof a priority!! Been at patron there for 4 years, love love love this place! Amazing food! Incredible cocktails! Wonderful friendly service that always make me feel like family. 🥰

Always a great place eat and have fun with friends. Staff is always courteous, kind, and professional. The food is wonderful. If you want to go somewhere for delicious food and service--this is it.

Can't say it 100 characters!! Best authentic "cajun" food outside of Louisiana! We really loved it!!

Every time I take friends and family here, everyone enjoys the food especially the dessert and don’t have to worry about parking. Always come out a winner!!!

I ordered the day prior for a curbside pick up the next day. Manager took my order, but failed to put it in, causing the food to be 30 minutes late even though I arrived 15 minutes early. Horrible attitude and horrible service. Don’t use them if you have an important lunch!

We have been coming to Cypress Grill close to ten years now. My favorite is the Troy special. My family and I have tried most of the dishes on the menu, great flavor, great quality ingredients, it's wonderful. Give Cypress Grill a try and enjoy.

As always the omelet and the Creole Eggs Benedict were yummy. The veg of the day, fried green tomatoes, were perfect and should be on the regular menu IMO. Big Yum! Service fab as usual.

Authentic NOLA dishes, perfectly executed. We went here based on T/A reviews and were surprised to find in a a strip mall. But, no matter - the place was great. Nice informal atmosphere, courteous service and excellent food. FYI, we've been to NOLA more times than we can count for 40+ years, so we do know creole food. Only thing missing was draught beer - no biggie as the canned selection was very good.

Whether you like home comfort cooking or the Cajun specialties, Cypress Grill beats the rest hands down!

We love all the food. The Greek blackened salmon salad is amazing. The red beans and rice, glazed pork chop, and the Chile relenno are really good too! Save room for the amazing cocktails and don’t leave without trying the bread pudding !!!

Tim is a great host, Great Food and a Great Environment. Tim knows you After your First visit and remembers what you like! The chicken Fried Steak with garlic potatoes is the best we have eaten in Austin. Come try it and meet Tim!

It is our number one choice for out of town guests and ourselves. The atmosphere and staff are friendly and professional. Their variety of dishes is great including everything from pot roast, mouthwatering chicken, lemony sauce base trout, fried shrimp, and the best side dish there is fried okra, although their broccoli is a close second. For brunch they have a delicious Tasso ham eggs Benedict which is definitely a must have along with a Mimosa. I almost forgot my favorite of their pasta dishes which is Shrimp Rockefeller. I highly recommend Cypress.

Cypress is one of my favorite place and food is so unique and delicious, I like many of dishes on the menu.

Excellent Service always. Knowledgeable staff and the food is always perfect... I hesitate to order broccoli but not here always great. the Seafood Lasagna did not disappoint

We go here every year for our anniversary...57th this year. We have loved every dish we have ordered plus the best "Old Fashion" ever.

Cypress Grill continues to deliver outstanding food and service. We’ve been coming here since 2007. It’s one of the very few restaurants we’ve been still going to since moving to Austin. The owner John runs a great operation and you can tell by the employees that they enjoy working there.

One thing I really love about Cypress Grill is -- no TVs on the walls! There is one behind the bar, but it doesn't intrude on the dining experience. Instead of TVs, the walls at Cypress Grill are filled with paintings, photos, and multi-media pieces created by local artists; and most, if not all, of them are for sale! Such a serene and cool habitat (enlivened by the jazz music, either live or recorded!). The food, of course, is exceptional. I had Pasta Evangeline (pasta, lots of veggies and a broth-y sauce) with added Gulf shrimp; my husband had a shrimp platter with dirty rice and a side salad with honey-lime-cilantro dressing. Mmmmm! We had an appetizer of Cajun popcorn shrimp, with cocktail sauce and tartar sauce for dipping.

Cypress Grill is an excellent choice for food and vibe and customer service. Since I am from Opelousas, LA, I would know.

Food was great and service was excellent. Chicken fried steak and fried shrimp were awesome. Also highly recommend blackberry cobbler and chicken tenders

The food was great, I had the crawfish delight, the étouffée (the best I have ever had in Texas) was delicious, and the crawfish was cooked perfect. The wife had fried shrimp and she said it was great. The portions were plentiful, the place was very clean, and the waitress very friendly.

If you are traveling through south Austin you want to plan to share a meal at Cypress Grill, our local favorite restaurant. There are many excellent choices for lunch or dinner. And if a weekend be sure try the brunch specials!

Fantastic food from a hidden gem located in a strip mall. My brother swears his chicken fried steak was one of the best he's had and my shrimp & grits took me back to N'awlins...flavor was spot on, nice plating..wanted to lick the bowl! Super sweet server, too. We have a family event in November and Cypress Grill will see us again!

Love the creole eggs Benedict at brunch with french toast and a couple spicy bloody marries. Makes my weekend!

Always love dining at Cypress Grill. My favorite is the Atchafalaya Catfish. I finish with the brownie a la mode. It was great as usual.

As always great service and great food. My wife loves the blacken tilapia and I try to get the crawfish Linguine. We have never been disappointed.

Outstanding food, very good service. It was really a pleasant surprise find excellent Cajun food while visiting Austin

Fabulous selections and service is awesome! I’m becoming a regular I love there food so much!! Need to go on a Tuesday or Saturday for crawfish!

We had 3 people in our party. One had the shrimp and grits. Excellent! One had the trout. Again, excellent. I had the crawfish etouffee. Excellent! My only complaint is that sometimes they have Riesling, other times not. Lately, they haven’t had it in a while. I was told they don’t have a distributor that has it now. I really wish they would have this wine again.

WE LOVED THE FOOD HERE! Love New Orleans and Cypress Grill does a GREAT JOB at recreating the food experience! The Bloody Mary was AWESOME and the Pumpkin bread pudding was VERY VERY NICE! Went for lunch and the service was fast and good! Highly Recommend!

My husband and I eat here all the time! We always have amazing food and great service. Being from New Orleans, this place is the closest thing to home I have found in the area.

We were in Austin visiting relatives. Friends from San Antonio came to visit & we planned to have lunch together. I checked on idine to see what restaurants were nearby & saw this place which had good revies. The service was excellent. Server was friendly & helpful. I had the blackened chicken with rice & a side salad. The chicken was tasty. My wife had the salmon salad & liked it. Prices were good, as we had the lunch specials.

I tried the trout dinner this time and it was cooked perfectly. AND THE SAUCE! Yummmmmmm! This restaurant is well run from management to kitchen staff, to wait staff, to bartenders, to greeters. Check Cypress Grill out for authentic Cajun cuisine and more!

Our food was delicious as usual, but the service not so much. My husband and I shared The Catfish Atchafalaya and it’s still my favorite dish on the menu. There seemed to be several trainees and th service was very slow and minimal attention from our server!

Better food than we found in New Orleans. Love the Shrimp and Grits and drink specials are great. Best bread pudding in town!

Food and service always excellent. Cajun dining good for lunch and dinner. Try the weekend brunch. We love it, many regulars.

Cypress Grill is my "go to" restaurant for delicious food and friendly service. I always share my experience with friends who have never tried them. The seafood is particularly fresh and it's the best Caesar salad in Austin. Would love to know their secret ingredients!

The prices are reasonable for the high quality of food and service provided.Great food and amazing service, will definitely be coming back soon!

All of your staff are very friendly. Michelle is the best! Even with a mask on you can tell she always has a smile. Service is prompt and the food is amazing. The brunch creole eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes are delicious - best in town!. Saddled with a spicy-infused Bloody mary and a single side of French toast and you’ve got a brunch fit for royalty. I look forward to it all week. 10/10. I enjoy your dinner menu very much as well.

A hole-in-the-wall ( it's just one in a series of shops in a strip mall), and has minimal decor. But the music piped in has the correct feel (it was New Orleans style jazz) and the gumbo I got was pretty good. This was a Saturday so I got a brunch menu (not sure if it has a bigger selection during the week). The selection being limited, I got a bowl of gumbo and a bread pudding, both of which were well made. Good service from my waiter. The only downside for me was the spartan feel of decorating. Otherwise great experience.

I had the Chicken Fried Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes . My daughter had the Shrimp Plate with Salad. The Salad Dressing, tartar sauce and cocktail cause were all made in house and very fresh and flavorful. Both were excellent and the portions were huge. We shared the Blackberry Cobbler. It was just the perfectly tart to go with the Vanilla Ice Cream. Our server - sorry I did not make note of her name - was attentive and efficient without being pushy or hovering. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in on weekend trip to Austin and bcz it was rated number one in Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed!! Had crawfish eggrolls, the shrimp and crab gumbo, the crawfish stuffed chili relleno, and the blackened catfish topped with the crawfish etouffee. It was all delicious! Good portions and reasonably priced. Plenty of other options if you don’t like seafood. Will definitely go back!

Yes it’s in a strip mall in the suburbs, but it’s been here for years delivering super tasty Cajun food. And once you’re inside it’s a friendly restaurant. The seafood gumbo and Boudin ball were on point, as was the friendly service. Will definitely be back.

We came here on a short visit to Austin. We made a reservation and were seated immediately on arrival. Everyone was so nice, this is very important to our family! I ordered the crawfish delight and my wife had the shrimp and crab gumbo. The kids just ordered stuff from the kids menu. Everyone was very satisfied! None more than me 😁! Highly recommend the crawfish delight! We will defined be back next time we’re in town!

It doesn't get any better!!!!Reopened and fantastic! Wait staff always friendly and the food tastes better than ever!!!

Wow! The end of no eating in restaurants. So good to experience the great food and service at Cypress Grill again. Even got to sit outside for easing back into restaurant dining. Always a treat to enjoy their crunchy, juicy fried shrimp.

We eat at Cypress grill once a month, this is because the food is so consistent and of high quality, the staff remains on alert and we have never had a problem... The food's not that expensive, so try it you'll probably like it

The seafood gumbo is reminiscent of New Orleans. The meatloaf was a pleasant surprise. We missed the fried okra this time but the Cesar salad was good. The trout was outstanding, as always.

We waited over 20 minutes after being seated to be waited on, but the food was excellent as usual! They were a little short staffed that evening. I was so happy to use my $10 Birthday Reward! This is absolutely my favorite neighborhood restaurant!

Good selection of New Orleans style food. A bit of a wait for seating but worth it. Child friendly seating. We make a special point to eat here on every visit to Austin. For four adults and two kids the total bill was $180.94 so not cheap. Gumbo is normally very good but was way too salty this time, almost inedible. Atchafalaya Catfish was good. Shrimp Platter was even better. Best fried okra around.

Love this place, especially on weekends for brunch. It's dog friendly outdoors and the food (really like the Eggs Napolean) is consistently excellent. Staff is both friendly and efficient.

The crawfish were AMAZING!!! Huge and very tasty. Everything is always great. If you're looking for great Cajun food, this is the place to go.

We really enjoyed our visit. We used to live in Circle C but have moved to Round Rock now but we miss Cypress Grill. Love your rattlesnake pasta. We’ve actually loved everything we have ever ordered. Fabulous place.

Despite COVID Pandemic, we felt safe dining in at Cypress Grill, our favorite neighborhood restaurant! I would highly recommend their establishment, the food is always good and wholesome. I know they use local vendors when possible and that reflects in the quality of their dishes. Sabrina was excellent in her service, suggestions and friendly attitude! It was Monday evening so we enjoyed two bottles of wine at half price! A great value!! Everyone ordered a different entree. I had the Crawfish stuffed Poblano pepper. It was a great fusion of Cajun and Mexican cuisine!

Although the restaurant was crowded, we were seated and served quickly. There were weekend and brunch specials, so there was good variety. The shrimp and grits were delicious!

Crawfish Relleno and Crawfish Ravioli were Spectacular and keep those drink specials coming. Austin Foodies REJOICE and don't miss out on this gem!

Cypress Grill is a wonderful restaurant with great food, friendly staff in a fun and intimate setting. Check them out!

Cypress has the best Crawdads in Austin. The atmosphere is family friendly and the Happy Hour Pricing is very reasonable. It is a very good local restaurant.

Amazing Gumbo and fresh Mahi. The drinks and staff were fabulous. Best restaurant in South Austin for Seafood!!!!!!!!

When we pulled up and found out the eatery was in a strip mall, we had flashbacks to a recent, disappointing experience. The place doesn’t look like much when you walk in but the food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Pleasantly surprised.

Cypress Grill is a fantastic restaurant. The food is as good as anything we have had in New Orleans. Do not miss this Austin eatery. We had the crawfish linguine and the crawfish relleno. The linguine sauce was delectable. The relleno was perfect. It came with a side of coleslaw that had a delicious satay sauce on it. The staff were so friendly. I even forgot my sunglasses at the restaurant. I was two hundred miles away when I discovered it. I called the restaurant and offered them money to send my sunglasses to me. They refused to take anything and a week latter my sunglasses were at my house. They were so kind. Thank you so much Cypress Grill. You are a great place to eat. No one should miss it.

It was so gratifying to be in person at one of our favorite restaurants once again! And we even got seated at our "old table" in the corner :-). It's always nice to chat with John Haug, and congratulate him on doing pretty darn well through the pandemic. Needless to say, the food is still excellent -- and tastier in the dining room than after transporting it home... Glad that Cypress Grill is still here!

Excellent friendly staff. We stopped here on our way to San Antonio from Dallas on our Texas Christmas road trip. Lovely ambience, great food - everything I tried was a new experience. Will definitely return

If you need a Cajun fix, go here. This season ask for the duck gumbo. You will not be disappointed!!

The food is great and very New Orleans authentic! Best Cajun food in Austin!!! We have enjoyed the food and service every time we go.

Prompt and courteous service. Food was excellent, it is what keeps us coming back again and again! Location is easy to access, plenty of parking.

Food is consistently wonderful. Gumbo is great. Wait staff is attentive and welcoming. Safe distancing and other COVID precautions are in place. Just a very pleasant dinner.

This a great place to go if you LOVE fantastic Cajun food!! It’s a super casual place with a great atmosphere. The staff are the best too.

Wife and I went for lunch on Friday May 10, 2024. Good food, Good service. Fair price. Overall, a real good experience - which is hard to fine at any restaurant these days.

I pulled up and parked in the curbside parking space. I had just been placed in a boot from a fractured Fibula. The staff said no problem on not pre ordering my food. They offered to bring me out a paper menu. I know what I wanted so, was not necessary. I truly love this restaurant. The food is consistently tasty.

Finally the remodel is finished. The place looks great and the food is even better. We will be back as fast as possible.

Excellent food and excellent service! Fresh local vegetables and delicious season specials. Delicious drinks!

We love this restaurant but we tried to order online and it did not work! So we called and were put on hold and after five minutes no one came back on line so we gave up and went elsewhere. I would of had a rating of five except for this!

Holly was great and the food was fabulous as always. We come here often and the food is consistent in quality and flavor. The rewards program is great also

The food was absolutely scrumptious. Management is excellent! Thank you. Ordered trout, pork chop, duck gumbo, & wine. Yummy! Restaurant is open at a limited capacity. I appreciate their curbside option during these concerning times. A definite treat!

Visited this place for brunch while on a weekend trip to Austin. The restaurant is located in a plaza, about 20 minutes drive from downtown Austin. I am a big fan of Eggs Benedict and always look out for original options, and Cypress Grill serves Eggs Napoleon which is eggs Benedict with crawfish étouffe. While this combination was interesting - nothing to write home about, the same goes for the trout that my bf had. All dishes also come with a choice of a generous-portioned side - we went for beets and home potatoes. Overall, the place feels very simple (in a good way) and authentic, with plenty of locals dining in - but I am not sure it is worth a taxi trip from downtown, if you are here for just a few days, you might find better options within walking distance.

We almost always eat the Fresh Fish Special and have never been disappointed. Love the veggies specials as well. Remainder of the menu is solid and well proven. Wait staff is consistently one of the best in Austin.

I have eaten here almost weekly for 10 years. The food is consistently good. The atmosphere is casual. The location is great for me.

Located in a strip mall. their sign is very visible. The ambiance is very New Orleans. We went on a weekday for lunch and had to wait about ten minutes. We had the Atchafalaya Catfish ( smothered with crawfish etouffee)with a cup of seafood gumbo and the Crawfish Etouffee. Both were served on large platters. We also did notice they did have a luncheon menu. Service was very attentive.

Great stop for lunch for 2 of us while visit family. Busy little spot with a nice local vibe. Happy to sit at the bar. We had both the chowders and they were great. Chose a muffuletta and a catfish po-boy on the recommendation of our very helpful and friendly bartender. Glad we went and we’ll go again on a another visit.

Cypress always Great food and service. Had the Atchafalaya Catfish. Always a favorite. Delicious!! Mmmm

I love this place! Great seafood gumbo and roast beef with greens and fried okra. One of my favorite places in Austin when I want home cooking and Cajun food v

Food is always fresh and we'll prepared. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Excellent dining experience!

The blackened salmon was cooked perfectly to my preference, the crawfish relleno continues to be pure genius, the dirty rice and red beans and rice are deliciously authentic, the barrel-aged old fashioned is the best cocktail around and the bourbon chocolate pecan pie with two scoops of ice cream is the exclamation point to another exceptional dining experience at Cypress Grill!

As usual our meal at Cypress was excellent and the service was superb. The Salmon was cooked and sauced perfectly and the dirty rice was a lovely accompaniment along with the wonderful fried okra. Salad with blackened chicken and balsamic vinegar was very tasty; the salad dressing is complex and perfect with the greens.

I love their Duck Gumb it is only Available for one or two months a year. It’s the best Duck Gumbo. I have ever had and will continue to make several trips a year to order it.

My wife and I frequent Cypress Grill almost every weekend. I always get the Bayou Breakfast. She will too, but gets different sides. They are good about rotating the choices and they never disappoint. The beet salad with candied pecans, goat cheese was super good. Even for a breakfast side. Still my favorite place for Sunday mornings.

The chicken fried steak was exceptional so bought 2 more to go and dropped them off at our son's house so they could enjoy them as well.

Well, to be accurate, Door Dash delivers the 'always awesome,' food from Cypress Grill. I always opt to have them hand the great smelling and tasty food through my car window, when I show up for curbside delivery. Sadly, I haven't entered Cypress Grill in more than a year. My recent food order was provided sooner than I expected (that's super!) and when I got home I told my wife that I had the best smelling car in Austin. Of course, the quality of our food exceeded the smell! We're very grateful that Cypress Grill has managed to stay with us through the pandemic challenge.

My wife and I popped in to this place after a drive up from San Antonio. Has a hole in the wall vibe and has good jazz/blues music playing which adds to the ambiance of this Cajun style spot. My wife ordered blackened tilapia with dirty rice and for her side was red beans & rice! I had the fried shrimp Po Boy with fries. The food was decent enough but lacked a bit of flavor. The fries had a nice crisp to them, which was appreciated. The prices were a definite positive and lunch special was so well priced. Service was quick and friendly!

Cypress Grill was a fun find in suburban Austin. The bartender that day has been there for years and was super friendly and helpful on suggestions on the menu. Fun to find some cajun in TX?? Food and service were great and worth the drive out from the city. The brunch cajun hash was very good with poached eggs and plentiful portion. Their bloody mary was very well done. We even bought a T shirt. Worth a visit!

Cypress Grill's food is unique and delicious Louisiana food - one of my favorite places. I've been going there for years, and the staff is always friendly and efficient. Sometimes I joke with the wait staff when they ask me if they can get me anything else, and I tell them I'd like a free sack full of $20 bills! They always have a funny response. And I always have a delicious meal!

I stopped by the Cypress Grill for a quick lunch whilst in the area. I was looking for something simple and fast at a reasonable price.

This place is top notch from the moment you walk in until you walk out the door. You are always greeted with a warm welcome and a smile( I’ll have to assume they are smiling under their masks). We have tried probably over half the choices on the menu (would probably have tried more options if the old “standbys” weren’t so awesome) over the years we have enjoyed eating here. The saddest part is we no longer live in Austin and don’t get to enjoy Cypress Grill as often as we did when we lived in town. We are traveling pretty much full time in our RV now with Austin being our home base. We arrived back in Austin in early November and cypress grill was our first restaurant of choice and today, 12/23/21 was our fourth time to eat there since we got back. The only negative thing I can say is about something that is no longer available on the menu, probably our favorite appetizer we have ever enjoyed, Cajun crab cake; two crawfish eggrolls; and three boudin balls……absolutely awesome way to kick off your dining experience. For those who never had the chance to enjoy this appetizer, I am sorry and for the rest of us that miss this, I am equally saddened.

True Cajun (South Louisiana from Lafayette-Houma) and New Orleans cuisine! Herbal with slight "bite" but not too much pepper! Casual, family friendly, very friendly and professional staff. Large portions easy to share an entre! All entrees are delicious! Try the bread pudding--YUM!!! DELICIOUS !!!! Go! Eat!! Enjoy!!!

I’ve been a customer for years. I was happy that my client likes Cypress Grill as well. The food was excellent and came out quickly. I was happy because I was hungry. The special I had was yellowfin tuna and seafood gumbo.

Cypress Grill is our favorite hometown restaurant. Have never had a bad meal there. Very welcoming and the servers are always helpful and friendly.

After the snow and ice storm, 10 days with no water.it’s a treat for us to come in from Henly and enjoy the food and drinks at Cypress Grill

We were here for lunch, but they were still serving brunch. The portions were decent and reasonably priced, and they had a variety of hot sauces. We had the jambalaya, and red beans and andouille sausage

Everything was fantastic! The food was great and the drinks were awesome. You can bet we will be back soon!

We had such a nice lunch here! The cocktails were delicious and the food excellent!!! All of us had different meals and enjoyed them thoroughly. The service was good and reasonably priced.

The crawfish egg rolls, Muffulattas, and bourbon chocolate pecan pie were AMAZING! Everything was fresh and well-made. We had dinner at 6 PM and the restaurant was still surprisingly busy but the wait staff was great and the service excellent! Will be back next time we are in the area.

Dependable good food and service at a reasonable price. I look forward to my next visit. Cypress Grille is one of my favorites.

As always the food, drinks and service was excellent. I brough friends from out of town for dinner and it was fabulouse. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and everything ordered was perfect. P.S, the fried oysters were to die for.

We arrived at 4:30 p.m. Cypress had advertised boiled crawfish would be available starting at that time. I ordered my 3 lb. platter upon my arrival. They were great, a little on the small size but hot and tasty. BUT they ran out about 15 minutes later! Apparently, the on-line orders at up (literally) all they had on hand. So disappointed and annoyed. If you keep running out, and you have limited options to acquire more, limit the bugs to in-house dining. Anyway, the owner who happened to be there that night, was able to locate more. He went and bought them, hauled them back to cook, and let us have 1st preference. What a way to keep a couple of customers. He's such a fun guy, but more importantly, he knows how to run a business. Thanks, unnamed manager.

This restaurant consistently makes the best skinny blackened salmon. Curbside is quick and easy. Service is great.

Great fresh vegetable of the day. Always so good! Shrimp and grits are the best I've had outside if New Orleans. To go orders are so easy and still great to enjoy at home.

I came in one day and decided to go with the shrimp and grits. I was absolutely blown away by the flavor. You will not be disappointed by a lunch visit here. Staff is great. And they have all of the COVID procedures in place to ensure public safety.

This locally run restaurant is an Austin gem. It’s in a small strip center, but it has a loyal local following and big flavors. They are still spacing the tables, so you will feel comfortable dining inside. It’s great for lunch or dinner and a great brunch on the weekends.

Great seafood for anniversary dinner. Service was really fast and nice atmosphere. This is our "go to" place for good food!

Excellent weekend brunch menu. Food quality was very good and service was fast. Excelent table spacing for these COVID times.

Always great food. Great happy hour specials and delicious Bloody Mary. The vegetable sides are always a hit and garlic bread is devin.

Excellent service and food quality The weekend brunch menu is my favorite. I have been going to Cypress Grill since they first opened. They have never disappointed me.

When in Austin, my wife and I always make one or more stops to eat at the Cypress Grill. My wife’s favorite dish is the Catfish Atchafalaya, and mine is the Crawfish Linguini, and the seafood gumbo is delicious! We always compliment our meal with a bottle of wine!! When in Austin, stopping here for lunch or dinner is a must!!! Bon Appetit!!

Great experience, brought my parents to dinner. Loved that there are dividing panels throughout the restaurant to comply COVID precautions. The service was outstanding and food fantastic!

Service, food and atmosphere was excellent. It was really nice eating out again as a family especially at Cypress Grill

Excellent Service! Great Cajun Food! Safety Protocols! Brought my friend in town from Hawaii and she loved her food. It’s always a treat for me!

My Shrimp and Grits were amazing. My husband got the Fried Shrimp and it was delicious too! I can't wait to go back!

Cypress has a great easy atmosphere for casual dining with family and friends. Great comfort food with an excellent and attentive staff. It is a great place to visit for an easy evening out with family.

A very friendly place, customers as well as staff. They take care in safeguarding the health of customers while providing a wonderful selection of drinks and eats. I had the Atchafalaya Catfish - blackened fillet on a bed of dirty rice smothered in crayfish etouffee - and a cup of seafood gumbo. It was absolutely splendid! They have a good assortment of bottled beers and some creative cocktails. I had their special barrel-aged old fashioned. It was one of the best I've ever had. My dessert was the excellent hot brownie ala mode. I took a couple of pictures and I apologize. It smelled so good I could not refrain from tasting before I snapped a pic. You can call ahead in case it's busy, but we went on a Tuesday evening and did not have to wait. i cold eat there 3-4 nights a week.

Everything was fresh & delicious! I like to order the Greek salad w/blackened salmon & the Rattlesnake Pasta. Poboys are also good. Great food & service!

We have been Cypress fans for years. They were one of our go to places during the pandemic because of how they conducted business and have remained a constant for delicious food and great service. Monthly specials are always interesting and their happy hour is every day until 7p so you can get discounts on drinks even on a Saturday night! Not many places do that.

My Creole Eggs Benedict weren’t very hot when they were served, but they were really good! My husbands Cajun Hash looked very tasty too. My mimosa was just perfect! We got Bread Pudding to take home and I loved the Bourbon Sauce on it. It’s easy to miss this neighborhood gem on William Cannon, but you won’t be sorry if you try it!

The quality of the food time and time again is excellent. The monthly specials are always a delight.

Great hospitality served by an experienced employee. Happy hour hurricane, two favorite appetizers and entrees were tasty. Dessert ordered to go.

Great seafood and service. Best mustard greens in towns. It feels like home. I come here ok fyen and love the salmon and fried shrimp.

Cypress is a great family restaurant. It had good food and great service at an affordable price. Cypress serves comfort foods with an emphasis on Cajun Specialties. The Crawdad boils held in the spring are by far the best in the city.

Our experience was awesome! Good food and good service.. the atmosphere is awesome! Especially our waitress she was knowledgeable of the food menu and very helpful. Will definitely be returning .

Cypress Grill has been on our FAVEs list for decades. It is one place you can count on the delicious entrees being consistently prepared & great service. Our last visit was for Sunday Brunch and the shrimp & grits and Eggs Benedict did not disappoint!

I love everything Cypress Grill offers. A must stop in Austin Texas. Their chicken salad is wonderful.

Always consistently great and excellent food and super service. The food is always the same Great selection .

I enjoyed everything: the stew, the catfish, the dessert. A very good job on the flavors. Only one desire: to come back

A few miles out from Austin centre, but well worth the drive. Staff are really friendly and more than happy to answer any questions you might have. Menu is mainly seafood based, with some chicken options too. The salmon I had was as good as I've ever had and a generous portion. The dirty rice is an excellent addition.

As usual our food was spot on. The Eggs Benedict was excellent an excellent choice for the Sunday Brunch. This is our favorite Cajun restaurant and it is so convenient for us! The staff always makes us feel at home! I’ll be so glad when the dividers can come dow though!

Best restaurant in South Austin! I’ve never been disappointed. Delightful staff. It feels like home.

I was one of my favorite places to eat in Austin. The gumbo still is some of the best I’ve ever had.. And they always have summer drink specials.

We ordered the catfish to go and it was wonderful. Out of all take out we have been doing during COVID, this one still tastes great once you get it home. Dirty rice is great as well.

The restaurant is pretty simple; in a strip center... The food was very good though and not too expensive. The waitstaff was good. We would definitely return.

Outstanding small local cage that serves authentic Creole food. Perfect sized lunches. Homade sodas were a nice treat. The shrimp gumbo was delicious. Service was very friendly and attentive. A definite must eat place when in Austin.

My husband and I always eat at Cypress Grill in February to celebrate his birthday using his birthday reward! We shared the Catfish Atchafalaya and Bourbon Pecan Pie and it was wonderful as usual! The service was excellent and the restaurant has put up dividers between tables in order to meet Covid restrictions! This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant!

Pretty good Cajun in Austin. The blackened Atchafalaya catfish, one of my favorites, was excellent. The blackened trout was average. Service was friendly, but very slow.

Since moving from Austin, I’ve missed Cypress Grill, my favorite restaurant in the whole world sooo much!! I get so excited when I can come visit! I went twice in a row the weekend lol. Love y’all!!

Food always excellent. Service is very good. Would highly recommend. Best Cajun restaurant in Austin

This terrific consistent New Orleans Type style restaurant is just what you want when you are longing for fresh top shelf Cajun food!! From the fried oysters to shrimp and grits to the bourbon bread pudding, it never dissappoints and always has terrific staff and wonderful cocktails. Check it out soon!!

I love the ability of call in and put our name on the waiting list... It helps so much with my elderly mom being seated quickly. Only issue is, I think some folks don't know about this trick. My family and I sometimes get the "stink eye" from folks waiting to be seated and we appear to stroll in and jump in front of them. My husband think that perhaps the iPad could distinguish folks that called in vs walk in... I am not sure if you've ever had any issue with this, but we thought to pass it on to you. Thanks for yet another lovely time at your restaurant!

CG is a can’t miss spot for weekend brunch. Never had a dish that disappointed. The Cajun hash is stellar. Michelle and the rest of the staff rock!

We have been coming here for years and the quality of the food just keeps getting better and better! We LOVE the rewards program - might as well since we are eating here anyway. We tell everyone we meet about the rewards and always recommend the restaurant to friends. Loyal long-time staff is a testament to the treatment and the appreciation of them. 10/10!

This was the greatest ambiance to match the best Cajun meal. The ONLY place to help me when I have my Louisiana blues.

Cypress Grill is one of our favorite restaurants in ATX. Always excellent quality and service and amazing Old Fashions! I used to say that it is our favorite neighborhood restaurant and then I realized that it's our favorite restaurant PERIOD!

Just shared a wonderful to go lunch there of pot roast, mashed potatoes and the cheese & garlic grits with their signature drinks.

The crawfish enchiladas was superb. I love to see what they have as veggie of the day. I have not been disappointed.

Well, after suffering without my favorite pancakes for almost 3 months, they are being served again. Oh, and the remodel is looking great as well. Lots more seating on the patio with small herb planters all around. Real locks on the restroom doors is a nice plus. Only sad point for me is the the boy's stand-up kiosk in the restroom is gone. Gotta go back to lifting and lowering the seat. Whatcha gonna do? Jeff, our usual waiter, still remembers our orders. Good guy.

Overall I would say this is an average restaurant. Average wait. Hostess was a little curt. Average wait service. Food was good but nothing special as well, one plate came out cold. Not sure why this is the top restaurant in Austin. Not worthy of the hype.

Exceptional service and the food never disappoints, delicious every time we visit. Love our local restaurant! We have been coming here for over 10 years and we must say the fill is always on point.
Best Seafood on William Cannon.
