Best Peking Duck, Spicy Craw Fish and Hot Pot

By GH33029 |

Best Peking Duck I have ever had, juicy and succulent; If you love authentic spicy food, this is the place for your craving for the best spicy craw fish and crab. Individual served hot pot with the best quality of the ingredients from A5 wagyu beef to hand cut New Zealand lamb, hand made fish noodles...just to name a few. Just remember to go there with an empty stomach and a big appetite...your table is ready😋

Expensive and Weird ( I'm saying weird not sophisticated )

By Elvira R |

We went for lunch on a weekday, my husband his sister and myself. We ordered Hot Pot, please correct me if I'm wrong: When this kind of food is called "sophisticated" I wonder how a hot soup where you cook some vegetables and some meat, can be called "sophisticated". The price, which included %20 tip was ridiculous and we didn't order any alcoholic beverage, just sodas.

Best Hidden Gem in Brickell

By coold8 |

The people on tripadvisor are so wrong on this place. Most complaints are value related, but this is Miami, the land of expensive yet awesome food. This isn’t your typical unlimited hot pot place, it’s not cheap because the quality is phenomenal, hands down the best hotpot I have had in the U.S. Their spicy pot is fire, and the owner and staff have been toughing it out, waiting for china to reopen it’s borders with the U.S. My parents always taught me, a good sign is when the largest customer base of a restaurant matches the origin of the food, you know it’s authentic. This is Da Tang. Go enjoy the best Chinese food in the city. If you are worried about cost go at lunch!

Da Terrific Da Tang

By saltysdad |

Christmas Day and what's a Jewish traveler to do? Seek out a traditional (for us) Chinese dinner. Da Tang Unique proved to be a fantastic dining experience. From the moment we sat down in this beautiful traditional Chinese setting, we were treated to delicious food served by a kind, welcoming ,seasoned wait staff with Exarious standing out. My kids particularly enjoyed the salt and pepper prawns. Not to be missed.

Definitely a MUST!

By amrheinu |

I was craving Peking duck and had found this place which features Hot pot as well. Definitely not disappointed. Great service, good wine selection, and the food was wonderful! Definitely will be back!

18% mandatory unadvised service charge

By shannon m |

Reasonable food, duck came out lukewarm though. However no where in the menu does it state that an 18% mandatory house service charge applies. What a joke.

Great new find

By Michael K |

Discovered this place through Open Table and what a great find! It's located in the Four Ambassadors. The service was great thanks to Ley our waiter. He made excellent recommendations and was very attentive to our needs. The food was so good that we asked for the chef to come out. (Have done this maybe 3 other times in my life). The general Manger Alberto made us feel so welcome as well. We will definitely be coming back!

not quite a walk on the wild side

Free valet parking in Brickell, very nice surroundings/decoration, imported Tsing Tao beer, good service, and an interesting concept (hot pot - cooking what you want as and when you want it) - what's not to like ? Well, despite the (Szechuan) soup/broth we chose living up to its fierce reputation and a very decent, appetising range of veggies, the main protein (all seafood) in our meal was so cold as to be effectively frozen for ingredients like the scallops. (Indeed, there didn't seem to be much (any ?) local produce.) The consequent double whammy was that the centrepiece was tasteless and the broth was progressively watered down. The Da Tang concept was developed in new York - I can only assume that there is a central procurement strategy behind it which doesn't work for the seafood. Maybe it's better if you're a carnivore (we didn't try any of the meat dishes). It's a shame because Miami is short of good Chinese food and it would be great to have something different and toothsome downtown, but it requires depth of flavour in the food, not just a novel concept. Incidentally, the only other customers on a Sunday lunchtime were oriental (which I consider a positive sign) but very few in number (which is not).

Amazing authentic Chinese Food in downtown Miami

By Virbeau |

We had a fabulous meal back in December in this authentic Chinese restaurant. While their tables are setup with individual induction burners for Hot Pot (a meat/seafood/veggie fondue - you choose the ingredients and the stew base), they also offer the traditional Peking duck as well as a myriad of lesser known dishes, all very fresh and tasty. The Peking Duck was crispy and delicious. The décor included typical Chinese pieces. After living in Beijing for 2 years we are delighted to be able to enjoy genuine mainland China dishes in South Florida. I recommend that you ask for advice to order if you are not familiar with the dishes offered.

Excellent Chinese food!

It is the most excellent and the only authentic Chinese food in Miami - worth to try it - classy Chinese!

Worst service

By Jacqueline K |

Went to da tang restaurant for a birthday party, we were seated and took 20 min before anyone took our drink order or gave us a menu and I had to ask. When the waiter came he had a major attitude and very rude (Cuban guy). I asked for a glass of water 2 time before I had to go to the bar myself and get it from the bartender. This restaurant is under staff and the staff they do have are rude and clueless. Very disappointed will not go back again.

The best authentic Chinese restaurant in town. Dim sum is amazing. Beautiful art work. At da tang you can enjoy the original recipe from China. Aromatic duck and the wagyu are the must try dish.

The chef at Da Tang Unique uses sugar as a weapon of mass destruction

By Franck D |

The chef at Da Tang Unique uses sugar as a weapon of mass destruction. If you are diabetic he will kill you in one meal, and if you weren’t when you came then you better check again after you leave just as a precaution. On the top of that it is ridiculously expensive for what it is, tasteless, and borderline swindling when it comes to the check. The restaurant was half-empty on this Valentine Day evening and the hostess still made us wait at the bar. I had a Coconut Dragon Milk cocktail that was excellent. The barman didn’t want to add my drink to my table, and then added a mandatory 18% tip, and had the nerve to ask me if I wanted my change when I gave him a $20 on a $13 cocktail. At least let me decide of the tip. The food was mediocre and over-sugary. The satay chicken skewers were a reconstituted flat chicken nugget with a bland sauce. The Beijing chicken was perfectly cooked, moist and tender, but drenched in a sugary sauce that was overwhelming. The Pumpkin soup with rice dumplings was also saturated with sugar. The assorted dumplings were so small but at $16 they were the only thing edible on this dinner. The fried rice was actually good. They asked us if we wanted dessert; I think it’s because we did survive the onslaught of sugar in the dishes. We declined. Now the scam. They bring you the check with a mandatory 18% gratuity already added, which is not a big deal. They point to you that you can add some additional gratuity. But if you click on 22% it is actually an additional 22% on top of the 18% that you’ve already paid. Which will actually be more than 42% gratuity. Check twice, and then check again. Better actually to just stay away.

Great food, great service

Da Tang has an extensive menu sure to please whether you like Dim Sum, or a host of well done chinese noodles, rice and seafood dishes. The decor is lovely and the service was excellent. Appreciated comping our first round of drinks to celebrate our first visit to the restaurant. Valet parking is right out front.

Fabulous!

What a fantastic evening!! This restaurant is within the Four Ambassador Residences on Brickell Bay Drive. A lovely looking restaurant bursting with Diners - all eager for a taste of wonderful Chinese cooking. They were not disappointed and nor were we. The food is delicious but just as importantly, the waiting staff are excellent. All knowledgable about the food, and in our case, the wonderful Oscar.....what a great help he was. He began by recommending my drink - a delicious rum, coconut and curaçao concoction. He then explained that by ordering a particular broth and cooking our own choices of protein and vegetables ourselves at the table, that we would end up with a delicious tailor made banquet. He was right. After sharing a gorgeous half Peking duck, my husband went on to have the mushroom broth with chicken and I ordered the pumpkin broth with beef. I have to say that everything was beautifully served on three tiered platters with delightful groupings of potato, yam, tofu, carrot and broccoli along with an assortment of fish! This was our most enjoyable meal in Miami during a week long stay, where we ate in super restaurants each evening. We cannot wait to come back soon and see Oscar again!

The BEST Chinese food in Miami

By Kimmy D |

The most authentic food in Miami. I had the dim sum to start & the Peking duck as a main plate, I never had such authentic tasty Chinese food in Miami. The decor is warm, inviting, cozy, romantic. On certain nights there is live traditional music. The service was beyond excellent. It's a hidden gem behind the fast paced Brickell downtown. This a must go to while in Miami.

DA TANG ZHENWEIi – NEW RESTAURANT – OPENED NOVEMBER 2017

By Journeyer |

I went to write this review and noticed that this restaurant’s reviews are merged with the prior restaurant in this location, Da Tang Unique. It seems that I am writing the first review on TripAdvisor for Da Tang Zhenwei. Da Tang Zhenwei recently opened in November 2017 after a major reconstruction of the previous restaurant’s space (Da Tang Unique). It offers a new and unique menu making it a great choice for a special upscale and fun dining experience with high quality very fresh ingredients. We were invited to dinner with friends who had eaten here after its recent opening. The setting is stunning, for starters. The furnishings and decorations were imported from China lending an authenticity to the restaurant. Our friends consulted with Wesley, the manager, who helped with our dinner selection. Feel free to do that too as he will guide you through the menu options. The house specialty is hot pot and is prepared with your choice of six bubbling soup bases at the dining table; each person has a selection of meats, vegetables and seafood based on your order which are put in the soup base for a minute or two to cook and then garnished with tasty specialty sauces and condiments. All the ingredients are super fresh and tender. There is a vegetarian option. I have never seen this before - the black mushrooms are actually growing on logs and you can watch them being picked for your dish; the preparation and sauce were a hit with our group. Other dishes that we liked were the Peking duck and scallion pancake. The food presentation is simply beautiful. The service is excellent. Complimentary valet parking for 2 hours – be sure to get your parking ticket validated at Da Tang Zhenwei.

Finally, a great Chinese restaurant in the Brickell area

By Traveler12306 |

We had a mid-day banquet, every course of which was excellent. We first started with lamb skewers, followed by peking duck and a platter of large crabs (plastic gloves are provided so you can eat them with your hands). We each selected a different broth for the hot pots. Platters of tofu, fish balls, assorted mushrooms and vegetables were provided for dipping. The meal finished with a platter of assorted mochi ice cream..

Delicious and Authentic ; So Glad We Found this Newcomer

By FtLaudFla |

My wife, daughter and I recently ate at this newly opened Miami restaurant and were incredibly happy to have found it. The decor is beautiful and authentic — if you didn’t know better you’d swear you were in the middle of a gorgeous restaurant in Beijing. But as nice as the setting was, the food and service were the real stars of the evening: the Peking Duck was the best I’ve ever had — succulent and delicious. Several days later I’m still dreaming about it.... The hot pot was a delicious novelty: a bit like Chinese fondue, and a great meal for a small group such as us, or for a larger party. The food kept on coming, the tables with the induction cooktops kept our meal bubbling away, and the delectable assortment of meats and fish were thoroughly enjoyed by all three of us. The desserts were novel and delicious. If you want a fun, delicious and authentically Chinese evening in Miami, run — don’t walk — to Da Tang Zhen Wei.....! You won’t regret it.

Great find!

Delicious meal and superb service. A little off of the beaten path but worth the travel. Authentic Chinese food for all.

Awesome High End Hot Pot.

By James B |

We really enjoyed the food, and the service. We ordered too much food and knew it but wanted to try everything that we liked. Service was A+. Hot psicey sauce was A+ ( not spicey enough...lol ) We were invited to have dinner with the owner and see what opportunities there might be in expanding this concept to Las Vegas. He offered us some of his specialties like the Peking Duck, and the Crispy Roasted pork that was our all-time favorite! Stay tuned. He did mention that a D.C. location was in the planning. The Capital could use some real authentic Chinese Hot pot food. Hope it works out for all. Thanks Ken.

Absolutely Excellent

By egeller315 |

I don’t know when I’ve had better Chinese food. Scallion pancakes, fantastic Peking duck, mouth watering lobster, tasty dumplings—-every bite was amazing. The service was excellent and helpful with suggestions. This restaurant is pricey, but, in this case, worth it.

Vegetarians rejoice!

By SusanMochnacs |

This was the best hotpot we have had in years! Two vegan broth choices; the mushroom broth (with a side of Sichuan chili paste) was truly excellent. The mixed mushroom plate, fried tofu skin, taro, and mixed veggie platter gave us more than enough food for two, but it was hard to stop eating even after we were full. We’re coming back here with friends soon. (Also, service was excellent, which we don’t take for granted in Miami.)

环境可以,饭菜真是一般

By Tom T |

环境可以,饭菜一般,我们去的那天估计超市盐促销,饭店买的太多,我们叫的菜做的太咸了,价格又高,没什么值得回味。The food is not impressive but salty with lot msg. You can find much better Chinese food For the price I paid in Miami.

Delicious Food & Amazing Service -Unique place

By Katia R |

I had an amazing experience and the food was absolutely delicious, I had the Chicken Hot Pot and tried the Vegetarian as well and they both were perfect. The Lobster, the crab, everything was so yummy. The ambiance is so authentic and beautiful and the service was incredible everyone was so welcoming. We celebrated a Birthday Party with Karaoke and it was so much fun. Highly recommended it and I have found my regular authentic Chinese restaurant in Miami :)

We love hot pot, a friend of ours mentioned this place. It is authentic and delicious. You can choose the base and level of spice , there are many fresh vegetables and meats for your personal hotpot. There is a sauce preparing station with sesame oil, garlic and cilantro. Delicious food and great service . Saw many Chinese running there, it is a gem

Four Ambasadors Success

By DanBMiami |

Wow! Authentic Chinese right here in the Four Ambassadors Condominium. Excellent food and reasonably priced. Genuine Peking Duck for much less than the competition across the street. Easy parking and very unique hot pots. Food for absolutely everybody....MSG free, Meat, Seafood, Fish or Vegan, Gluten free, what else can you ask for?

Price change makes it much less attractive.

I have lived in Brickell for 8 years and really don't have great choices for good Chinese food--except now Komodo, but that's not an everyday kind of place. I was very excited to learn about Da Tang a few weeks ago since it is literally across the street from my house. My first pickup went smooth and the food was pretty good. The hedgehog buns were unique, the won ton soup was average, and the lo mein was tasty but nothing spectacular. But, it satisfied my desire for Chinese. Tonight I called in another order for the same thing leaving off the soup. When I picked up the food I looked at the bill--$30 for lo mein and buns--about $6 more than the prices online and what I paid a week ago. I was told the prices recently went up. The waiter apologized but there was no effort to honor the prices online which was disappointing. I honestly feel like the victim of a bait and switch. To be clear, I'm no cheapskate--see other restaurants I've reviewed--but this is not $18 lo mein. I'm very disappointed that what could have become my go-to spot for a Chinese food craving put itself out of contention by raising prices to an unrealistic level given what you get. I obviously cannot speak for the many other dishes which may very well be excellent, but given my experience I'm not eager to spend $30+ on a single entree. O-well.

Hidden Gem!!

By Maggie492013 |

We met up with some friends at Da Tang for dinner. The food was amazing!! The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a very classy way. The drinks were great. I had a Pina Colada made with green tea that was really amazingly good!! You have got to try the Pekin Duck, Chilean Bass and the eggplant they were to die for. Our server X was charming and very professional and so was everyone that works there. It's definitely a hidden gem inside the Four Ambassador's building. Highly recommended!!

Pre theater dinner

By Jacquie V |

The food was expertly prepared and tasted delicious. The soup dumplings were as good as any we have ever had; as good as those from NYC or San Francisco. However the food was very slow coming out of the kitchen. The waitstaff was attentive and pleasant but despite there being only one other table it took for ever for our courses to come out. Also the portions are very small given how expensive.

Expensive tip

By lurogo9 |

This place is nice and the food is really good but service it's bad and worst when they try to charge you 40% of tip with lies. It's a shame because it's good food and place to eat

Highly Authentic, superb presentation and creativity, mushroom garden

By good scoop |

This elegant Chinese restaurant specializes in Hot Pot, a bubbling Chinese variant of fondue. They also have many other traditional and innovative dishes. The restaurant is decorated in a very traditional and ornate style reminiscent of the fine old restaurants in Beijing. The service is friendly and helpful. The food was excellent in every area, and features many dishes unavailable elsewhere. The restaurant grows it's own mushrooms and fungi and the freshness is amazing. Traditional Peking duck, unusual appetizers, and the best Baijiu I have ever had. Instead of flying 12,000 miles to China, have dinner here.

Not impressed

By GirlonthegoUSA |

Service and atmosphere were great but food (assortment of uncooked veges and thinly sliced meat that you cook in broth) was way overpriced. For four people it was $175.00. I get much better food at the Golden Wok in San Antonio, TX and the price is about 1/4. They even cook the food and I can focus on the conversation.

Rude staff

By chewyyyyy |

Food was disappointed and expensive. Their staff Dianna has a terrible attitude. Bad service and would not go back nor would I recommend this place.

Authentic Chinese Food in Brickell!

Excellent Chinese food in the Brickell area. Alberto, the manager was very gracious and the mixologist was great too! I particularly liked the Dim Sum. Cool atmosphere and ambiance

Super Great Find!!

By 2lifeadventure |

We were a group of 10, and went on a Saturday Night. The Restuarant is located in the Four Ambassadors Condominium Complex right behind Brickel Ave. As a large group, we had a chance to sample a little bit of everything, which is how I suggest you approach this particular restaurant since they have great dishes. We ordered a plate that had a variety of Dim Sum, it was fantastic, I would really recommend it. The duck with crepes and plum sauce, a classic was superb. on everything we ordered, we found it to be excellent. Apparently, the have a Dim Sum buffet on a specific day of the week, and am looking forward to trying it. I also want to add that the service was superb, very attentive, and entertaining. The drinks were also well made. Overall it was a very pleasant surprise as this was my first visit. It's great to have a good Chinese restaurant in the Brickel area, and especially good if you like Dim Sum. Don't miss it, well worth the visit, and truly not that expensive for what you get in food, taste, and service.

Everything is so authentic

I really enjoyed the food and most importantly the environment! Will definitely come back again. The Da Tang fired rice is a must. Also, the signature cocktails with special baijiu and maotai :) OMG... so special and unique.

Work Anniversary

Took the office staff for our anniversary and enjoyed a spectacular dinner. The Peking Duck is the best stateside.
