My husband and I decided to check out Dame hoping for seats at the bar and we scored. (It was a Saturday shortly after they opened at 5:30.) The restaurant is quaint and beautifully decorated. The bartender was extremely helpful in suggesting several of their natural wines and describing the evening entree selections. I enjoyed three of their wines; Kali-Kovek, Brand and Andert. Fabulous! We shared the Grilled Flatbread with ricotta, fennel pollen and olive oil. Delicious! My husband had the Trout (with fennel, citrus, green herbs, potato, carrot and grilled lemon) and I had the Cappelletti (with pancetta, butternut squash cream, leek, chestnut and lemon zest). Amazing! We had a fantastic evening at Dame enjoying their unique natural wines and the outstanding creations from the kitchen. Dame, you will definitely be seeing us again.

A lovely restaurant Decent service Wonderful Cacio a Pepe Delicious Gazpacho Wine geek wine list( weak in local wines, oddly) Our server volunteered that they would time things, so that we could order everything , and that they would time it perfectly. Not so much, but a petty complaint. Didn’t “ get” the z beef carpaccio w Foie… over my head. I’d gladly go back for the pasta!

Our daughter took my wife and me to Dame during our trip to Portland to visit her this past September. It has a good atmosphere and a good vibe. We started off by sharing some marinated olives and focaccia. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, which was excellent. Overall, I can recommend Dame for the good Italian food that I ordered.

Delightful dinner with unique wines and food preparations. Friend smelt was tasty and the pickled herring was the stand out dish - wonderfully creamy and flavorful.

This beautiful restaurant is owned by two fabulous women who know food and wine. I am a vegetarian so the French food isn't always available to me. But the wine and cocktails and desserts have never disappointed. I have also been here with meat and fish loving friends who have enjoyed every bite. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this very beautiful place!

Truly a gem in NE Portland. Went on beautiful Friday evening, ate inside (with vax proof) with a few well spaced tables. Started with beef carpaccio/fried capers and the grilled flatbread. Entrees included diver scallops/gnocchi in a green sauce (leaning towards pesto, but better) and summer vegetable risotto. Everything, including the service was great. Even the ceramic dinnerware rocked. Success.

Didn’t meet our expectations. We went for Portland dining month, so we tried several dishes. The rapini salad had no pecorini as illustrated in their Instagram pictures. The ravioli were way too salty, could taste the ricotta or the bottarga. The cacio e pepe was a very disappointment, it tasted only butter, was there any pecorino in?! I won’t go back there. Too bad as I am trying to find a good Italian restaurant!

We had dinner at Dame/Estes last night, with their NW Italian menu. The asparagus was seared perfectly, and served with prosciutto. Their rabbit dish with cavatelli was the best rabbit dish I have eaten, here or in Europe. The rabbit was braised, served boneless and delicious! The cavatelli was like gnocchi, but made wholly of semolina flour and eggs. Perfectly al dente. For dessert we had their chocolate Sunday. The ice cream was mad of Mexican chocolate, was rich and delicious, ad had a touch of cayenne, which made it more interesting than most. Great experience!

Best under the radar restaurant in Portland!!! Small storefront on Killingsworth…. seating for maybe 20 Outstanding service..,., fresh made foods , wonderful place to dine
Can’t be beat
The best restaurant that I know of in the Portland area. Nice size to get great service from all the staff. The food is outstanding and so well prepared. We always share plates and try several items. Always have Moms donuts for dessert. You will love it too
