First time to visit after hearing great things about this place from 710 AM ESPN Radio. We had the Crab Louie and Steak Salad. Good tasting food and portions good for lunch. What was disappointing was the service. It appears that serving lunch is still new for their staff, we arrived 25 minutes before last order time, and from 2:30 onward we were rushed through lunch with wait staff taking our plates before we were done, giving us the check before finished eating, cleaning up the areas around us and washing the windows, etc. we asked one bus girl if she was in a hurry to go home, and yes she was, as she took away my wife’s plate with food still and n it. What bothers me more is their service charge policy of 20% without giving me the right to tip according to the level service I received! The Schwartz Brothers who own a chain of restaurants are quite well off, but it appears that the guests are stuck with all the labor costs increases.

great service and great food. Sat at the bar before seated. Excellent and friendly bar tenders. Waitress was attentive and steaks needed a bit more heat and they quick to fix the problem and came back perfectlly

I had the good fortune to have a meal at Daniel's Broiler in the South Lake Union area of Seattle last week. I WILL be going back. The restaurant was beautifully situated on Lake Union, the decor was inviting, the service was excellent and the food was great, although pricey.............but the quality made it worthwhile. The highlight of the evening was spending time in the piano bar listening to song performed by the very talented pianist/vocalist, Kacey Evans. If you happen to be in the area, make it a point to dine here and spend some time in the piano bar. Come with requests as it seemed to me that Kacey knew every song ever recorded. His piano rendition of Eric Clapton's "Layla" was first rate, as was every other song he played.

We took a group of 30 to this restaurant & everything was FABULOUS! The atmosphere is terrific - great harbor views & the interior is filled with rich dark wood - very nice. Staff was terrific - large groups are not always easy but this staff was 100% prepared. The food did not disappoint - living up to the locals boasting “best steak you will ever have” the filet mignon was perfection. From appetizers to dessert it was a meal we won’t soon forget. Excellent wine selection & we finished our meal off with a glass of Port - 5 stars +!

Beautiful restaurant on the water!!! First we had drinks at the bar and the barman was really great!!! He made the best martinis!!! We went to our table and our waiter was very nice and helpful. One thing that I didn’t like was that everybody had bread in their table and we had to ask for it. The service was very nice but really slow. Our food was delicious!!! I had a wonderful steak!!! The wine list was amazing.

I'll start with saying we eat out frequently. I rarely review restaurants, but felt this warranted a review. We just went to Daniel's for dinner. We both had the Ribeye. Our steaks were both overcooked (we ordered medium rare). We had the opportunity to send them back, but neither of us wanted to put everyone through the trouble or cost. The steaks were juicy and tender, however my steak had a strong burnt taste. My husband thought his had a fake smoke flavor. I did like the rosemary flavor, but couldn't get past the burnt taste. Calamari was fine, though super salty. The wedge salad lacked effort. I get a $5 wedge salad in my local small town that is far superior than the wedge here. We got the cookie dessert and let the waiter know we'd share this. The dessert comes with a shot glass of milk, which is a cute touch. Could the restaurant spare a second shot of milk since we'd be sharing the dessert? No. It's the little things. I understand staffing is short, inflation is soaring, but small gestures like footing the bill for a second shot glass of milk would be appreciated. I suppose that otherwise insignificant moment stood out since it occurred at the end of a very blah meal. Okay service overall. There was nothing noteworthy or exceptional -except the price of this lackluster, average meal.

Our party of four went to Daniel's Broiler that is in the neighborhood. We made reservations and arrived a bit early, so we sat at the bar. The place didn't look too busy, so it was a bit of a puzzle why we had to wait. When we sat down, we realized this was definitely "upscale." The menu was sky-high and we weren't dressed in our Sunday best. Prices were well beyond our usual fare. Not that we couldn't afford it: it was just a surprise. I'm not used to menus with a slab of meat priced over $100. When our food arrived, it was a bit of a disappointment. One of our party ordered a pork chop. The waiter sliced into it and pulled out a flashlight to be sure it was cooked to order. My fish was covered in a rather bland sauce. There was noting memorable about our meal. In other words, I've certainly had better food for less. Nevertheless, the ambience was wonderful. We were seated next to the huge windows, looking over the launches at rest by the dock as the sun set. The decor was just right for a high-end restaurant and the wait-staff was properly snooty. Again, most of the high-end restaurants I've been in, the wait staff was friendly and worked to make our meal memorable in a good way. But they are in the midwest. We were celebrating several events, so we decided that the ambience and the view were worth at least 60% of our experience and left satisfied with the evening.

Great atmosphere and views, the staff reception and serving was terrific and the food and wine was excellent.

We had dinner here on the Fourth of July. We arrived early for our reservation and were seated 15 - 20 minutes later. We were polite and non-demanding with the staff, with no complaints...at first. The food was marginal and after an hour and a half, we were indirectly asked to leave by Steven, the Maitre'd to make room for other guests. Be prepared to pay a 20% tip, regardless of the wait staff's (Kevin's) marginal service. They auto bill you the 20%. We will never go back there. Way over-rated, expensive and rude. Avoid this place.

Great food and great service but the waiter told us that the hefty service charge did NOT go to the waiting staff. WTF? Over priced.

We've been here for Happy Hour many times and enjoyed our visits and the service was good, however, awww, too bad they removed the burger from the hhour menu; that was the best deal of all! The drinks are comparable to others; the view is great and the vibe of the place is good, overall! Unfortunately, we will not patronize this establishment again, because they came up quite short at our special birthday lunch with our family! After spending nearly $400 for our group lunch, it's not too much to expect great service, not just average! To that end, I did call the next day to speak with the GM, Steve, to share my disappointment. To my surprise, he was very defensive, dismissive, and rather rude. I kindly shared with him the things that went well and then shared the things that didn't go well. He neither acknowledged my compliments nor showed genuine interest in what I had to say, overall. At a minimum, he could have simply demonstrated a good faith effort by expressing a kind thank you for our visit and accepting accountability for the outages. He certainly could have fixed the situation simply by being kind and, heck, just offering to reimburse me for part of the cost of the few kids meals which were clearly not prepared well; or, he could have just offered a small discount on a future lunch entree. Anything would have been a good faith gesture given that we have been loyal patrons! Our group: 8 adults and 5 children; and, we were excited to share this establishment with our out of town guests. This time though they did not deliver on great service and the kids meals especially were not acceptable. Our kids did not eat their meals (except for the kids' filet minon meal which apparently was the only good kids meal item that was eaten!); their food wasn't warm, the min-burgers were dry, and the fish and chips were very over cooked! Although they were not very busy...at the tale end of lunch time, we had to wait about 20 min. for a table and then we waited about an hour for our food. We told the greeter that we were celebrating birthdays and that we would love a table with a view. She delivered on the nice table with a view, but, it was a bit disappointing that there was no acknowledgement from our waitress, Sadie, to attempt to help us celebrate our special occasion. Speaking of which, our waitress didn't seem very interested until we started dropping hints that we were interested in drinks and steaks. It was easy to see how she lit up after she had obviously sized us up wrong! Overall, the adult meals were good (seafood pasta was really good!) however two of our steaks were not actually fixed to order (medium rare steak cooked to medium). We dared not let them take the steaks back to the kitchen since we waited so long for our meals in the first place! Our water glasses were not all refilled...service was just not very good! We didn't want to spoil the mood, so we enjoyed our time together, in spite of the challenges. I understand that on rare occasions, any restaurant can miss the mark, but, I do expect that when this happens, the manager absolutely should demonstrate utmost professionalism, care and compassion...too bad that we will not be returning! There are so many other restaurants in Seattle that can be counted on to make sure that, especially their loyal patrons, enjoy a great overall experience!

B & I went to Daniel's last night, & had an amazing experience. We shared the delicious spinach salad, & then the 28 oz. Porterhouse; all dishes were served having been portioned, with the bone on a separate plate. Minh was so perfect, can't wait to go back!

So thankful for the fantastic server who made our lunch more special. The restaurant looks tired. Pretty dingy outside and the deck needs a facelift. We loved the service and the lunch was pretty good. The water view saves the place, otherwise it’s sister restaurant in Bellevue is far superior. Hoping this Seattle icon can freshen up!

We had our favorite appetizer the yummy crispy artichoke hearts. The waiter recommended grass-fed filet mignon. We ordered it with Daniel’s Signature Oscar Style and as side dishes broccolini and one potato. We were asked by the waiter to cut our steak in the middle in order to be sure it was the way we ordered. Everything like always was delicious. We selected this restaurant because it is close to the Opera and Theaters, nice view and great atmosphere. We have known this place for about five years and it became one of our favorite in Seattle. The place was rated Excellent by king County Food Safety rating system. Great food and customer service.

We only had time for one dinner out when in Seattle. We wanted seafood in walking distance from our hotel. We ordered 4 dinners and 2 were not so good. I had the salmon it was so dry I couldn't eat it. No one asked if our food was ok. it was very busy. One of my kids had that fish tacos and they were very good.

While spending part of our anniversary in Seattle we wanted to cap it off with a great steak dinner. Daniels hit the spot. Lets be clear, it is a tad over priced but the food and especially the service was fantastic. Its located on Lake Union with nice views of the marina. Our service was very good and the food did not disappoint! You will drop some coin here, but it is a great dinner experience.

The restaurant is located in South Lake Union, and it has a great view. You might see seaplanes taking off and landing. I tried Filet Mignon. It was a good flavor and size. The inside wasn't so noisy and had a nice atmosphere. So I think you can use this restaurant for a dinner with important guests.

We haven't been in a couple of years and this time, we had a one year old with us. We wondered how that would be! The staff was very good and understood about making sure the little one got their food first! Calamari was cooked to perfection with not a ton of breading. Salads were crisp and fresh and the onion soup was fantastic. Steak good as always but was really impressed with the chicken - juicy and flavorful and good portion size as well. All in all, they haven't lost a beat!

Daniel’s Broiler is conveniently located right at the marina overlooking south Lake Union. After visiting the MOHAI museum and the Center of Wooden Boats museum, a drink and dinner is in order at Daniel’s. While this place is a swanky classy steakhouse, as them for their secret vegan menu which always features rotating dishes. Today’s choice was the ravioli and the portions were HUGE and delicious! Sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive.

The good: The steak was one of the best I have ever had in my life. The bad: The price. Very expense.

Best burger in town, and happy hour half price at $10. Can't beat it with the white linen service and the top-notch atmosphere.

We usually eat at Daniels Broiler in the Seattle area about 2 to 3 times a year. The dinning experience is usually top quality. We decided to treat some friends of ours to a dinner here and ran up a bill total (north) of $450.00 - which included wine, alchohol, stakes, etc. A large final bill was expected - the surprise was the 20% mandatory service fee automatically added on to the final bill. The mandatory 20% service fee is explained away as a "fee" that is given directly to the resturant owner and then the resturant decides how to dispurse the fee. The mandatory service fee charged to the customer is then also taxed at the Seattle tax rate (somewhere over 9.5%). I don't mind paying for fine dining, but what I completely do not understand is why the tip on my final bill is being automatically converted into a (mandatory service fee) and then (taxed)? It's a new experience to pay "a tax" on a tip that I am trying to give to a resturant for good service. We disagree with this new billing policy and will be more observant of this billing change going forward. We do thank Daniels Broiler for pointing this billing change out to us in the Seattle area - we will curtainly make the right dining decisions going forward.

This was the best lobster bisque we’ve ever had in the 30 years we’ve been in love with the dish. We arrived early, had great cocktails in the lounge before being seated. We had a couple glasses of pinot noir and split a ribeye steak after our lobster bisque. The steak was excellent, the only flaw was instead of splitting the potato, they gave us each our own, they were huge and of course we both had to have the works. The potato overwhelmed the 1/2 steak on the plate and of course we had to eat it. There’s a lot of talk about the mandatory gratuity, the positives were they told us it was on there when they gave us the bill and it gets divided amongst everyone. We really felt like everyone on the staff was waiting on us too. The negative is you don’t get to decide what it’s worth, but it’s far better paying for staff waiting on you than paying the clerk serving you over the counter where they’re asking for tips on the credit card receipt.

Recommended by a friend...used open table..when we arrived, told it would be a few mins... We went to bar for a round..bartender said table ready did we want to move bar tab to table or close out..we closed out..walked back to hostess..different person now..and now we were 5th in line for a table..40 mins after our reservation time. We explained what happened to new hostess...she called bartender a liar and said nothing she could do. We'd uber'd to this place...ended up eating at bar. Bar manager heard us talking avout the issues but never came by or talked to us... Food ok but not worth it.

The food and service were great, what you would expect from a high end steakhouse. I did think it was pricey. Good steaks were around 70-105 dollars each, plus extras. plan 200 a couple with no drinks.

Had dinner here on March 21. From the time you walk in to the time you leave everyone on the staff is genuinely friendly & courteous. We were never rushed at all in terms of ordering or leaving. The food is excellent, I had the 8oz filet mignon. The prices are high but well worth it

My fiancé and I enjoyed our time at Daniels. Calamari was pretty good. Steaks were cooked perfectly.

I met an out of town guest at Daniel's for dinner one evening for a very informal interview while looking for someone to develop a new sales territory for my company. The view was incredible, our Steaks were perfect and the conversation was scintillating! He started a new job with my company on July 16th, 2018! We went back and celebrated on 7/20/18, the day he made his first sale!

I went in for happy hour. The least expensive Chardonnay was $14.50 at HH! My impression is a super spendy tourist trap, but as a local I would not even think of coming here! So many better ways to blow a wad of cash...

Daniel's Broiler is one of those established steak and seafood places you find scattered in any big city. It is just plain good food. It is a little on the expensive side (ok, a lot on the expensive side) but if you are looking to celebrate, have some really good food, and enjoy a nice water view, then consider Daniel's Broiler. Some things I noticed: - We sat at the bar at around mid-afternoon and it was pretty quiet. - There was a nice selection of spirits and they have a special spirit room (but I didn't check it out). It looked like maybe there was a cigar bar in there too? Not sure. - Expensive (but worth it).

This is a difficult review. We had a very nice meal for four. I am basing it on the price paid for what was received. The price was high, so I am reviewing accordingly. This was one of the better meals that I have ever paid for in North America. The service was good, the staff were pleasant, and the serving sizes were what you would expect for the rather high price. My son and I ordered our steaks (Delmonico & Ribeye) well done. A waitress and manager came out with the meal with flashlights and made us cut into the steaks to make sure that they were cooked as we had ordered. Pardon? That is either incredibly diligent, and exemplary service, or astoundingly insulting. I haven't decided which yet. Was it dining theatre? No, it was just overbearing and annoying. Does the Chef not possess a kitchen thermometer? 170 degrees is Well Done. Buy a thermometer. We had one starter, four mains, two additional vegetables, two glasses of wine, and two kids drinks. The kids drinks came in cans. Don't laugh. With tax and tip that was $440. Was it fine dining? No. We had a booth in a steakhouse with vinyl seats, and our knives had wooden handles. It was very nice, but it wasn't fine dining. At least there were no peanut shells on the floor, but I have had steaks that were just as good in places that did. Fine dining would have been Potatoes Dauphinoise, not garlic mash with a sprig of parsley. That is pub food. Below is a picture of the lamb chops. They were very good. Lamb chops, a pile of mashed potato with some unmelted shredded packet cheese sprinkled on top, a sprig of parsley, and a little tub of red sauce. Hello 1970. Red sauce? Redcurrant jelly, mint jelly, yellow curry, satay sauce, hummus, all YES! A Rosemary Demi-Glace? No. Red sauce. A Greek salad and pita with some Tzatziki sauce? Amazing. At least run the mashed potato and packet cheese under a broiler to give it some color and crust like you get on a Shepherd's Pie. Something. Please. Rosemary and pine nut Israeli Couscous? Spectacular. Seattle is known for having a lot of people with too much money. I get that. But price aside, it just seemed to be carried out so inartfully. A wonderful setting, hard working staff, amazing ingredients, but absolutely zero imagination.

Great views, great food, and great service. This is a fantastic place to eat and take in the beautiful scenery around the marina in Lake Union. Great selection of appetizers - we had the bacon wrapped scallops, and they were superb - and the steaks we had were extremely flavorful, properly cooked, and well-presented. The service was excellent by all of the folks we came in contact with. This place is pricey, but it is well worth it and a great experience in Seattle fine dining.

Great experience. Dined in the lower-level area with work. Atmosphere is great, and so is the location on the harbor. Very kind folks working there.

This used to be our favorite restaurant in Seattle. We used to come here at least once a week. But then things changed almost overnight. They instituted a mandatory 20% fee on all bills regardless of service. Now, I usually tip 20% anyways and sometime I give more or less depending on the service I receive (it used to be excellent, more on that later) but now they are taking it away from the customer. There's no incentive for giving you quality service since they are getting 20% no matter what. That opinion was echoed by the staff who also agreed that it was a terrible idea. Now the service. When I first went to Daniels I met a waiter by the name of Zach. He was probably the best waiter I've ever had in my life (I eat out a lot so this is not something I say lightly). Saying he went above and beyond is putting it mildly. Over the years I would always request to be seated in Zach's section. When he was promoted to sommelier we continued to visit him as he always had great recommendations for wine. Then a few months ago, they got rid of their sommelier program and Zach was let go. Our family was shocked. It was disappointing to say the least. However, the staff agreed with me that it was BS and that the establishment/management was making things miserable for everyone. On my next visit, I decided to have a Steak and I asked the waiter to recommend a bottle of wine. His response was that he had no idea about wine. For a restaurant that's supposed to be a 5-star steak house, I was floored. Zach always gave me a good recommendation and I spent hundreds on good wine based on his recommendation. His absence was felt. Not only did I not buy any wine that night, I started vising less often. It's gotten to the point where I have hardly go any more. The service is not what it used to be. They even managed to ruin my steak dinner (although they did comp me, so that was nice). I understand that restaurants go through changes but in this case, change is bad and it just cost them a regular customer.

Enjoyed lunch looking out over Lake Union on a sunny day! The Cobb salads are huge ($19). Too bad you can’t order a half and the Corned Beef sandwich very good, although lacked a side of mustard or horseradish. Service charge is included. Our server, Alannah, was spot on - perfect amount of attention and timing. Highly recommend!

Horrible service. Went out for a nice dinner date. Ryan was our server. Took our drink order while we were looking at the menu for appetizers. He came back with drinks and left quickly didn't even ask if we were ready to order. We enjoyed our drinks and waited. After giving our dinner order he asked if we wanted bread. That bread and butter never came. We asked the guy who came to fill our water for bread while we were waiting. Which came seconds before our dinner. After getting our dinner served we didn't see him till the end of the dinner. We ordered a bottle of wine. No one came to serve us our wine. We were both done with dinner, Took my fiancé's plate and came back after maybe 15 minutes to take mine. Of course the tip was already added to our check but I was not happy paying $65 tip for that kind of service. Dinner was delicious but there are many other places we could've had delicious dinner for $450.

So nice to watch all of the sailboats. Great wine list and good service. The appetizers were wonderful, though my halibut wasn't out of this world as I'd have hoped. Ample parking and delicious dessert menu

I wnat to be very fair in this review, as I have dined in many cities and many steakhouses. This is my 7th or 8th trip to Daniels in the past 8 years, and it is quickly becoming unaffordable with no relative value for the price paid. Service was a 6 out of 10. Our waiter (we had a table of 9, so you think we would have a dedicated waiter, but we didnt) took a long time, Forgot several things when asked, and failed to return to check on the table for drinks, or anything needed. It was not a memorable experience. Food was anywhere from 5 out of 10 to 10 out 10. The lobster was amazing - however, at $125.00 (with tip - $150.00) - it should be. The weight on the 8 oz. filet as questionable, and the ribeyes are no longer 1-1/2" thick - they are more like 3/4". That change, and taste, is disappointing. Price was a 3 out of 10. Way overpriced. 8oz. filet -$80.00, , 16 oz. ribeye - $82.00, amd King Salmon @ $60.00, and you cvasn wash it down with a Columbia Valley cab for $36.00/ glass. No matter how you slice it, no food is worth this much - and the lavk of valet and patrons showed it. The most disappointing things was the "20% mandatory tip, and the "by law" rule of calcualting the tip with the tax. I dont care who made this rule - it's thievery. #1 - I pay tip on service - not becasue you serve me food I pay for. And #2 - for the state to require tax on tip is a horrendous business rule. Overall - no more visits for me. I'm sure others have done the same, and others will too. Disappointing - but I do have memories of the old Daniels.

Our granddaughter turned 21 on June 5th and it was her choice to dine at Daniel's as we traveled all the way from Ontario to celebrate with her and family. We were a party of seven and we asked for seating that looked out to the lake. It was a perfect evening and we were surprised to see some boats with Canadian flags. Our family goes to celebrate special occasions at Daniel's often and so it was more a formality to check the menu as the grand kids knew what we were having and they even picked the menu for us. My wife had a spicy tofu mixed vegetables as she's a vegetarian. It was served nice and hot and the rest of us who were having steak or prim rib also tasted this as a vegetable supplement. The meat was cooked perfect and we took a bottle of Merlot which they decanted and served. The service was excellent. By the time we rose to leave, evening set on the bay and we came home feeling happy and content.

What can I say...we were a group of 12. The staff so attentive we felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant. From drinks to appetizers, the meal and dessert everything was excellent. It was a beautiful cold and clear evening. The view of Lake Union was so pretty with the reflection of Christmas Lights. Make sure you're aware of the pricing before you go......very very expensive. They also build in a 20% gratuity ..... state they split among all staff. I If you have a salad, entree, maybe a side veggie.....a couple would need at least $200.00. That's not taking into account any appetizers, drinks or tip.

Last minute decision to try to get a table on a Friday evening but the hostess was most accommodating and found us a very nice booth. They are proud of their steak selection and gave us the full "tour" of their offerings....we opted for a delicious crab and salmon entree but if you like steak, they got 'em. Our waitress was excellent with attention and explanation. A dandy spot for a special evening!

Have to say the steaks and service were absolutely top notch! Thank you so much to our server Pearl, for a fantastic dining experience. Recommend Daniels Broiler for a perfect night out on Lake Union anytime.

Every time I visit Seattle (second time this year) we must eat at Daniel's. The food is excellent, pricey, but a wonderful, relaxing experience on the waterfront. I always order the garlic chicken. Also ordered artichoke hearts, oysters half shell, french onion soup, cup chowder, lobster. You will not leave hungry. Love Daniel's!

What fun we had. We sat at the piano bar section. Staff were great the pianist was GREAT. He knew every genre. Something for everyone. Food was FANTASTIC as always... we had the appetizers like the steak, crab.. yumm will be back!

Nice views of the lake and close to downtown. Had one appetizer, calamari, that was average and over breaded. Dinner steak was very good, baked potato very basic, classic with usual toppings. However, waiter unimpressive, didn't know the featured wines, was not interactive. And for that, you are automatically charged a 20% service fee!! So, we paid over $100 in "service fees" for less that worthy service. It almost makes on wonder if since staff knows they are guaranteed that tip, they no longer need to provide the level of service one should expect from one of Seattle's "finer restaurants"

Superior service and food. Excellent wine list. Steaks cooked perfectly. Views of the lake. Live music afterwards. White linen tablecloths; definitely upscale restaurant. Highly recommend if you have the coin to drop for a very special evening.

I went to brunch at Daniel's Broiler on a Saturday. Bottomless mimosas (I tried orange and grapefruit), Oscar Style Benedict which contained a healthy portion of steak and hash browns on the side, and a tutorial on how to make Bloody Mary's. The food was great, and I really enjoyed the decor, as it was very modern and well decorated. Service was fantastic even though it was a full house. I'm definitely coming back again!

Perfect location, perfect food. One of the best steak sandwiches I've ever had. Highly recommend and the bar/lounge is ideal for the solo diner

We went for a birthday celebration- setting was gorgeous, menu beautiful and very expensive- had to remind waiter twice I ordered a martini, he brought dinner wine before the appetizer even showed up or my martini for that matter...tip was incorporated into bill even for a table for two- waiter truly seemed disinterested in going the extra mile for this type of restaurant- which in my mint is suppossed to be one of the best dining experiences- he reminded us a couple of times we would get a free dessert because it was my birthday- really? Needed to make an announcement ibstead of serving it with some level of class? Next time it's Canlis- never a disappointment there!

We went for a nice dinner and as much as the restaurant was nice, the food simply did not deliver :( Steak is there big bragging point as they let us know, but my steak was very tough and not much flavor. They also charge a automatic 20% tip with claims it helps allow them to take care of there staff, however at $80 for a small steak one would think that would cover it. And as an ex waitress I would like the choice to decide how much tip I am going to leave my server. This said service was good (not the profection they note). Server did not even notice I didn't enjoy my steak. It was a fancy steak house without great steak. Opt for the Metropolitan Grill or the like. Or come here for happy hour to enjoy the view, just don't count on an exceptionally good steak dinner here.

We've got a very good impression with both the quality of the meals we ordered, and how personal operated. Very professional level.

Yep ~ it is totally worth it! The location is awesome with a view of lake Union, valet parking and service that makes this dining experience a memorable foodie delight! The food is fresh and prepared perfectly, the bar makes craft cocktails that have a kick and personality. The chocolate desert was over the top. I would not bring kids here this place is for folks who want a nice quiet night with good food. Happy Hour, full bar & relaxed dress code. Dreaming of our next visit to Daniel’s!

This place is right in front of the hotel I like and their seafood is one of the best I've tried. Food is fresh and ideas are different, but they also offer classics which are fantastic.

Chose dinner here because of the good reviews and a recommendation from an Uber driver. The restaurant itself had a pretty good atmosphere and was comfortable enough. The service was pretty average for this level of dining. The food was just ok. My fiances steak was over cooked and a solid medium instead of medium rare, which is an elementary mistake for a place claiming to be a a high end steakhouse. My prime rib was pretty good, but really fatty and I have had better from non steakhouses. The kicker though was that I always look forward to desert, it is my favorite part and instead of bringing us desert menus or telling us what they have for desert our waiter brought out a chocolate lava type cake with ice cream and said it was his treat for our first time in Seattle. The gesture was nice, but I didn't get an option and I do not do chocolate cake, so I was extremely disappointed in the dessert and the fact that I didn't get any. He never asked if we wanted anything else, just brought our check, so I didn't even ask. The kind of killed the night and although the intention was good, it wasn't executed properly and ruined the evening.

A $125 lobster tail was rubbery and without taste. It could have been cooked the day before and was plunked on a shell that is probably reused. The server was great but the restaurant adds a 20% surcharge that they mislabel as a "gratuity" and keep for themselves. If you care about food quality and the rights of staff avoid this restaurant and all others in the chain. What a rip.

I was staying at the Residence Inn right across the street and ate here twice. The happy hour is great. I tried the seared Ahi tuna appetizer. It was amazing and I came back another night to get it again. Great good, great views, and a great staff!

Thx fellas, plenty pricey but cooked to perfection. And appreciate you taking care of my drinks! Unfortunately the patio was closed. The patio is one of the best features of this location.

Daniel's on Lake Union, Seattle is a fabulous place to dine on delicious cuisine and to watch the seaplanes take off and land at nearby Kenmore Air. We sat outside and watched the beautiful sunset, the seaplanes, and enjoyed our wonderful food and wine. It was one of the best nights of our trip, and we hope to get back there someday.

A great meal with drinks and dessert at this resturant. Facilities were really good and vaiters happy, friendly and helpful. Really nice tables outside with with view of the harbour. The dessert was delicious. 😀👍🏻

Splurge just once if you can, I did for my birthday dinner and it was worth every penny. The 13 oz Lobster was so good. Great view, amazing service, simply YUMMMM!

Enjoyed a birthday lunch with friends recently. Service was great and food prepared well! We enjoyed the whisky crab soup (cup for $9.), a Bay Shrimp Salad $12, a Daniel's Cobb Salad for $19 and some wine. Nice wine list although quite pricey for the glass! They gave us a celebration cake to share (complimentary) and included the 20% service charge. Very nice lunch but be ready to open your wallet!

Service was average. Ordered the Stuffed mushrooms, Caprese Salad and the Artichoke appetizers. Stuffed mushrooms were barely edible, tasted like someone put Thanksiving stuffing in them and were not cooked all the way through. The Caprese Salad had tomatoes that were unripe and sliced way too thick. This time of year they could get amazing heirloom or ripe tomatoes that would have made this dish taste delicious. The Artichoke appetizer was the only edible part of my meal. They were crispy and served with a garlic hollandaise.

We have been a group of 8 people, coming to dinner. We have booked this place after strong recommendations from locals in Seattle . The service was very professional. The porter steaks were big and amazing, good wine choice. All starters we have choose to share were good. Go for it

A very nice place in a beautiful location. Steaks are very good and $50+ with the wagyu steak at $120. A good wine list as well. Try to get a table towards the pier.

We had a special event here and it was outstanding. The service was impeccable, the food and beverages were outstanding, and all of our special needs were met. The management and staff exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this location for just about any size event

We had a nice walk in early evening dinner, the food was amazing, steak, salad and drinks, yet somehow pricy, 4 ppl, 3 mains and salad, total of 400$ 🧐🧐

Visited Daniel's Broiler for the 2nd time this year. Another very good experience. Love the atmosphere. Great view of the water, boats, etc. Business meal with a group of seven. Very accommodating restaurant. We recommend this restaurant...for business or pleasure.

We ducked into Dan's Broilers after visiting the Museum of History and Industry next door. both are right on Lake Union. We weren't familiar with this restaurant even though we are in Seattle 2-3 times per month. The restaurant is upscale and so is the menu. Prices area little steep for lunch but the food we ordered was excellent. The service was impeccable and even though we had fish and chips and the classic hamburger, they came with perfect fries, cole slaw and 2or 3 individual small bowls of condiments. No ketchup bottles on THIS table !

My son took me to dinner for my birthday. As residents we have eaten at 3 of Daniels.I arrive at earlier than him go to the bar.The bartender keep washing glasses no acknowledgement,I ask for a Stella, seems a little perturbed I went cheap. Our table is called and ask to put on dinner tab,ata ain bartender seemed confused on how to transfer.Had a nice table with view as requested.DInner server was great. He had 25 years of service. The Prime Rib although rear had to be " sawed" with the steak knife. My son's rib eye was the same. The staff kept circling with their dining room map on their tablet. In the course of dinner we counted 8 times.it was distracting and felt like they wanted you hurry up.it was tacky for a fine dining experience. If you going to drop 400 for a dinner for 2,it takes away from the dining experience.I will not return. The Cut of meats were mediocre for the price.it just turning into a franchise experience.

This restaurant is well located on Lake Union in Seattle. It is very lovely to see the sea planes taking off and landing from the windows. The food at happy hour is plentiful with lots of choices and well priced. The burger and artichokes are favorites, but there are so many choices. the servers are friendly and the buzz is just perfect. I highly recommend this place. There are other locations too in the area.

Beautiful setting of the restaurant. Good food . Located on the waters. The server did not know how many people a dish could serve. We ended up ordering more food than we needed. Good food for vegetarian people as well.

This is hands down my wife's favorite steakhouse and with the docks, boats and water, it's one of my favorite locations too. Incredible food, great wine list and outstanding service. You really can't go wrong here.

When you are looking for a great place to eat and you love steak. One place you have to try is Daniel's Broiler, I visited the Lake Union location in the heart of Amazonville. Great Ambeince and view of Lake Union. The Steak melts in your mouth like all great steakhouses and the Halibut is unbelievable. Parking is a little sketchy but, other than that you should have a great time. Prices were up there but, expect that for where you are located. A great time and meal!

Business group of 20 for dinner and most of us chose the steak which was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Service was very accommodating and wines offered pair well with each course.

Daniel's now has a creative and tasty plant based menu, but it's upon request only. This is really bizarre, and the menu should be included inside their regular menu so that people (like vegans/vegetarians) get to see other options, which also adds more sales. Recommendation: Replace the Impossible Burger with the Beyond Burger. The Beyond Burger (also vegan) tastes "meatier" and is a much better product. Also, I overheard the manager tell the bar staff that the Impossible Burger's buns are being replaced with brioche buns, which contain butter...and are not vegan. THANKS!

Brought my cousin from out of town here. Hoping to enjoy a delicious meal with my family, there were 6 of us. Everything from the staff to the food was just ok. not one area wowed us. It was an expensive meal and we could have gone elsewhere to have had something spectacular.... the food was ok, the service was pretty inattentive, and we all left saying it'll be a long time before we take a chance and come back.

I usually don’t eat a lot of red meat - but I did order it here at Daniels Broiler and did not regret that decision. The food is really good and service also.

This is food is tired. The staff and management are really nice! If u lik Ruths Chis this is on par. The choc cake tasted thawed from.a freezer. Costco cake is better (and costco cake is not very good) Everything was cooked nice. I would rather stay home and grill. Anyone could cook thus food . Laughing at how cold our cabernet was served.

We ordered takeout popcorn shrimp, salads and steaks. The salads are medium small. (We are comparing our experience with the Met.) Steak was very good. They charge at 20% gratuity no matter if you pick up or get waited on, so plan on that. We will order from the Met next time for premium steakhouse experience at a premium price.

Stopped in for bar food given I was on my own for dinner last night while on the road for work. Ended up in the bar and had a burger- wish I had gotten there 20 min earlier as it would have been half price during happy hour. Great burger for half price ($9) but a tad overpriced at $18. Came w steak fries that I wish I had asked for extra hot or more cooked than they came. Medium rare was closer to medium well and I could tell was quality beef. Nice attentive service- I will return and make sure I order as I expect the food to be. Great view of South Lake Union if you get there before sunset.

Went here with couple of colleagues. Very friendly service. Awesome food. Nice views to outside. On the pricy side but you will get an experience that will stick with you at least for a while.

Really fantastic - listen you need to understand this meal will cost you but the quality and service are top notch - so do with that what you will We enjoyed a fabulous dinner amazing service and a terrific atmosphere

The steaks here are delicious if you are able to get yours cooked correctly. One of our filets came out cooked perfectly, and the other had to be sent back as it was overcooked. This was inconvenient since their cooking process takes a bit longer and the new filet came out at least 20 minutes later once it was sent back. The sides were very good, the Caesar salad and their mashed potatoes are excellent. We ordered a side of asparagus and the hollandaise sauce was bland and didn’t have much flavor. Not sure that I could recommend this restaurant as we expected a better experience than this at the cost.

Went out for what my partner and I considered to be a special Friday night dinner. Having lived in Seattle for number of years now, we decided to finally check this place out. We heard this place was pricey but my God! I had to pick my eyeballs up off of the menu because they popped out when I saw the prices. For a $70 steak this better be the best place ever… I was thinking. If I based my review solely the bone in ribeye steak that I ordered, I would have definitely given this place a higher rating. It was that good! And I appreciate the hostess educating us on the different cuts of beef that they showcased in the waiting area. Everything else was just so-so, even down to the decor of the place. Also when is there going to be a restaurant that's going to grow a pair of balls and actually disallows children. The last thing I want to experience when I'm chomping down on a hundred dollar plus meal is the screaming of unruly little ones in high chairs. Totally took away from the ambience and value. Other than that our server John, was extremely friendly and professional. We were in good hands the entire meal. Also impressed that the general manager stop by our table even before we ordered shook our hands and thanked us for coming by. I was hoping Daniels would be the place that we could keep in our back pocket to wow out-of-town guests but unfortunately it's not. The view, check! The steak, check! Everything else...basic.

Really good service and wonderful atmosphere. The prawn cocktail was to die for! The filet was really good but a bit overpriced for how good they said it would be. I'm from the midwest so I know steak. My definition of an 80$ filet is a bit different but it was good just not 80$ good.

Dinner for 2 was over $175 (including mandatory 20% added tip). Good steak, really, really bad service. Asked if Diet Coke came in a glass, waitress said yes, then brought me a 12 oz. can ($4) along with a glass of ice. We sat for a long time before the waitress came over, a long time to get bread to the table and a very long time to get our food. They were NOT busy. We are regular visitors to Daniel's when in Seattle, at least 2x a year, but I'm afraid we are done coming here. The pricing, server attitude and service are not worth the high end prices they charge.

We came for drinks and light eats. We loved the tuna, and the artichoke hearts, loved our drinks We had a spectacular view of the lake at night with shimmering water and boats. Nice place to go for a fireside chat

visited this Lake Union location2 times in the last 45 days, brunch both times. The service was poor and less than ideal. I have been visiting this restaurant as well as the Bellevue location for well over 10 years and except for he last two visits, I was always been happy with the food and service. The last tine I was in there was on Easter Sunday and everything was pretty mediocre. Poor selections. No other options except for egg dishes, or if available the menu was not offered. I have been there on Easter Sunday before and always had a good experience. I will no longer visit this location. Ramon

When a stake cost 60- 100 USD excellence is expected. We went in a group of 7. They brought wrong cooked stakes for two. When one of them came back, was burned outside. We ordered asparagus as a side. They didn’t have any flavor. Not impressed at all. This was the third time I was eating here. Quality had gone down.

My son took me here to impress. We sat outside and had great views of the lake. Had to ask a couple of times for the wine list. We all ordered filets (4) and they were all tender. Unfortunately they were also tasteless, not charred before finishing in the oven, not seasoned. Service was not attentive. Not worth the money imo.

This is the second failure by Daniel's. Once at Leschi and now Lake Union. I was very interested in tasting their grass-fed steak to compare with the grass-fed I have shipped to my home. I never got to taste the steak at Daniel's because it was so charred, all I (and everyone at the table who tasted it) could taste is burned and charred meat. When I told the waitress and the floor manager about it, all they said was "I'm sorry" and did nothing about it. No replacement, no compensation...nothing! I paid $80 for a steak I couldn't eat! I cut the entire outside of the steak off and it still tasted charred. My friend order oysters Rockefeller which were also over done. They did bring her a new plate of oysters which were done properly. My husband and I didn't really want to go because of our bad experience at Leschi, now we will never return to Daniels. At Leschi the food was simply ok, the service was bad and for the price, the meal was not worth it. If we're going to spend over $200 for dinner, I expect it to be delicious and special. Neither experience qualified.

Great appetizers and filets. Top notch service! Fantastic Steaks and Seafood! Service was spot on. Was a good ending after a long day of traveling.

This restaurant was recommended by a local. Once we got there we were seated and noticed there was a card on the table stating that 20% gratuity is automatically added to each bill to pay the salaries of staff. That was very off putting because I don't think I should have to pay the salaries of your employees. i'm a very good tipper but if the tip is included what incentive does the waiter have to give good service? Unfortunately the service was not good. The waiter was not attentive to our needs and we could not wait to leave. The only reason we stayed, we were from out of town and did not have transportation, we used Uber. It just left a bad taste in my mouth and on my next visit to Seattle I will not be visiting this restaurant.

Amazing food. Amazing view. Steak was perfect, corn side dish was unique and delicious, chocolate cake was heaven on earth. Hella good, hella pricey. Worth it? Yep.

Made a last minute reservation and sat overlooking the lake. The vesper martinis are fabulous, the oysters wonderful and the steaks tender flavourful and fabulous A great must visit - happy hour in the bar is fun and they have good prices for small bite plates

Made our yearly trip to Seattle for the boat show and steak dinner. always a fantastic meal and this year was no exception. Started with popcorn shrimp. Oh man how I love those. Caeser Salad and bone in NY was so good. Only slightly disappointed that the steak was warm but not hot. Must have been sitting for a couple minutes. Still able to give full marks for the meal over all and our server was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Will be back next year.

Went to Easter Brunch at Daniels on Lake Union today. Fixed price at $55 per person for two courses plus a small piece of coffee cake. Choice of 3 starters and 5 entrees. Food was excellent, but I can't say worth the cost, as the total for 4 adults was $310 and all we drank was coffee ($4 a cup.) Service was friendly, but a bit erratic. I'm not a fan of the policy of charging a fixed 20 percent service charge that the restaurant retains, paying staff only by the hour.

This was our first dining experience out since COVID and it was amazing! Great staff/service, great drinks (best spicy Bloody Mary ever!), great food and great outdoor dining!

What a cool place this is. Located right on Lake Union we watched planes land and takeoff in the water as we looked over the top of the beautiful motor yachts parked just outside the door. The views were absolutely fantastic and the interior of the restaurant encourages you to take advantage of those views. The attitude of the employees was superb. They were very attentive to our needs and seem to truly enjoy their jobs. Even when they madeA mistake our waiter acknowledged it and moved on. They were not needy like most of the service up that we encountered in Seattle they were actually there to service their customers. The beverages were served in a timely manner and often. We enjoyed everything from beer and mixed drinks to a wonderful bottle of wine. This place has a wonderful menu and you should know that it is pricey. We enjoyed the crabcake although, it is not the worlds best but was reasonable. The artichokes were a fun little appetizer and the Caesar salad was served fresh and crisp. Our entrées included the lamb chops, prime rib, New York steak and each was wonderful. The side dishes included mushrooms, cream spinach, and sweet corn and all were wonderful. We even ordered dessert, which is not normal for us. The chocolate banana bread pudding was over the top and the crème brûlée was yummy. We would recommend this for anybody that is in Seattle that wants to enjoy a big night out. It is pricey. Too bad for the waiter that they included a service charge on the bill as we would’ve actually tipped more…

I ordered the A5/wagyu combo and let me just say WOW!!! Cooked to perfection I couldn’t have asked for a better steak. I jumped ahead because the steaks were both amazing. We also had the seared tuna and it was just ok for me. The scallops and bbq shrimp on the other hand were amazing. The shrimp was ok until you set it on a piece of bread that it’s served with and drown it in the sauce , it takes it to the HNL(whole nother level) 😂 others ordered the king crab legs(said was good but would get a steak next time), salmon(amazing), tuna(also amazing) we ordered almost the entire desert menu and all were very good. Great staff, food, atmosphere and the view was awesome. We will definitely be back!

Went for lunch. Fantastic food although the fire made it very warm. Chowder and Fish and Chips most excellent. Recommended.

Came here for dinner with my wife during happy hour. We split a Caesar salad, a burger, and a calamari plate. It was very good. Not too expensive, and goid service too. All in all a good place to go.

Maybe we've been leading a sheltered life, but the prices at Daniel's were shocking. Dinner for two was $259 including one drink each and the tip. And it would have been easy to have doubled that had we ordered some of the more exotic cuts of meat - e.g., $90 and $100 steaks. The wine list, although extensive was difficult with anything half-way decent in the $95 range, and up; there were plenty of $150 and $300 wines with Chateau Margeaux at $1000. With all that said, everything served was top notch and excellently prepared with a single exception: The fries on the plate with my filet mignon were swimming in juice. This was relatively quickly remedied by the waiter who brought an extra plate on which to shovel the fries - which btw, could have been crisper. My lobster bisque was quite good and my wife's Daniel's salad was also very good, as was here rib eye. Tom, our waiter was one of the best waiters I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. He was attentive to detail, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful at every turn, and available.

Look - we went on July 4th so it was busy - so take that into consideration to be fair but our experience was disappointing. This is a high end restaurant our bill for four people was over $600 - so you expect a good time right??? We booked in December last year for July 4th as we were going for my dads 70th birthday, and travelled from NZ. We had asked for a table on the deck with views of the fireworks. they told us to arrive at 9pm if we wanted to see the fireworks and secure a deck table, When we arrived they sat us inside away from the fireworks - we told them this was not good enough and luckily they redeemed themselves and found a table for us. Dinner was great, the food was very good and the steaks amazing, very highly priced but maybe we are spoilt with good steaks in NZ. At 11pm while still eating dinner we were told it was last call?? What?? this meant last orders for food and drinks - it wasn't our fault we received our meals at 10.20pm - they told us to arrive at 9pm! So weird! So we asked to order dessert, while still eating mains - my step mother had been emailing to get a birthday cake organised - she was willing to pay to get one delivered from a local bakery but they assured us that they had something they did for a birthday. Well they forgot or something, but nothing came! It was very disappointing for us celebrating such a big occasion. I complained and we got our deserts taken off the bill. Look the food and service was great - but for a restaurant like that you would expect just a little more - especially since we had been emailing them for months.

Note to self - this restaurant is very peaceful and relaxing on a Monday night for early dinner. The food and wines were outstanding and the ambiance was wonderful. We will be back!!

You really can't go wrong with anything at Daniel's Broiler, at either location. I like this one in particular because it is more laid-back and has outdoor seating. Right on Lake Union, just steps away from the marinas an wooden boat museum. Nice walks around the boats and a 20 minute walk to downtown.

This restaurant is way over priced - had to wait too long for mediocre meal. Much better value at other restaurants in Seattle.

This evening I had made reservations for a business dinner at Daniel's Broiler at South Lake Union Seattle. 3 locals and one out of town business partner attended. 3 of the 4 of us arrived on time and, as we were led to our table, were told, "There is a 2 hour seating limit from the time you are seated at your table." Our 4th guest was about 10 minutes late. We ordered drinks while waiting for our 4th guest to arrive. After her arrival, a good selection of appetizers were ordered and enjoyed - yes, they were delicious. Following appetizers the main courses were ordered. Finishing the meal, a manager approached our table and informed us (and this is genuinely his quote): "There was a 2-hour time limit for your table. and we told you this when you came in.You have exceed that so we have to ask you to leave." My response was, "Well, perhaps we need to receive the bill then." We had been there for 2 hours and 10 minutes. As we had just wrapped up dinner, no dessert menu was shown nor offered nor was an after dinner cup of coffee. Daniel's assesses an automatic 20% surcharge on the check and states "no tipping is required." We were troubled with this because our server was BRILLIANT throughout the evening. The manager's abrupt accusations of the time limit seemed to indicate to us that it was our fault for breaking their rules. For a $$$$ Seattle-based restaurant, I will unabashedly state that I am unable to recommend this restaurant to my business colleagues, will never bring out of town business partners to this restaurant, nor will I personally choose to bring family or friends to this restaurant ever again. My one star rating is only because of the 5-star service by our server. Management - you brought the rating down by accusing us of violating your 2-hour rule. Oh, by the way, on the way out of the restaurant I heard a father explaining to his wife and 3 kids that they too were kicked out because of the 2-hour limit. There are much better resaurants in Seattle. Avoid this one.

Great View of Lake Union and all of the BIG boats. It is hard to say if it worth the money... the food was ok not the best steak I have ever had and the King Crab was ok. Again nothing stood out that was amazing.... very expensive. 2 couples and I think our bill was 650. I don’t even know how when we split entrees.

Awesome ambiance and view in the marina, delicious mouth watering prime rib, baked potato, asparagus, great service, everyone in our group of 4 had a good experience

I've been to this Daniel's dozens of times. No more. It has lost any sense of elegance it once had. The staff are clued out, the service is slow, the facility is aging badly, and the food is a notch above Outback Steakhouse now. Danny, Seattle grew up, your restaurant didn't.

I'm not sure if this is the best price point in Seattle, but the good here is excellent. I would recommend Daniel's to anyone looking for a good steak.

I try this place about once a year. I really want to like it but every time something doesn't work out. I mean: steak at $60 and 20% automatic service charge - the place must be darn near perfect. And it just isn't. This time I waited 10 minutes for a black tea. And that's tea bag's tea - no need to brew, just add hot water. Naturally, when the tea arrived it was lukewarm. I sent it back, waitress apologized. No big deal. Calamari were great. Steak arrived while I was still eating calamari. Seriously?! I got to admit, the steak was also quite good with the exception of about 0.5 sq. inch burned piece. Again, no big deal, forgive and forget. Except I don't come to a restaurant with that kind of prices to forgive and forget. I come to have a nice dinner and chill and forget about day's labors. Bottom line: there are so many other great places nearby what coming here again just doesn't make sense.

A tip for the waiter is a gratuity for good service. A tip should be voluntary - not mandatory - regardless of service. I will not eat at any restaurant in the future that has a mandatory tip policy kept 100% by the restaurant.

Friday evening my wife, daughter and I dined at Daniel's on Lake Union. I was expecting a very good meal, I was extremely pleased. We actually 'Dined' for dinner. These days most restaurants subject their customers to a hopefully digestable meal served by a poorly trained server with absolutely no knowledge of food, wines and spirits, or professional service. Friday evening, Daniel's hit this one out of the park. Our server, a very pleasant lady with a slight accent, approached our table with true professionalism. She was extremely knowledgable about their food, it's origin and it's preparation. I know because I asked her quite a few probing questions. The appetizer, salads and entree's were all delivered with perfect timing. The cold items were cold and the hot items were hot. A tall order for most establishments these days. Her assistant was excellent as well. He removed plates and flatware correctly and kept our water glasses topped off, while not intruding on our dining experience. My only problem is with the owners. I feel very strongly that the 20% service charge added to each bill is wrong. I spent many years in the industry and feel tipping is a choice not a requirement. Also, only a portion of the 20% goes to our server. More than one quarter of that charge goes to the house. It is not distributed to the staff. That is wholly wrong. Of course we tipped well over and above the 20% so our server would receive the full 25% gratuity she earned through her work.

I'll admit my friend had a difficult time finding something to eat tonight because she's vegetarian and there's not much on the menu for her. I picked the place and didn't think about her limited food options. So my fault, not hers. Our server, Rochelle, was clearly annoyed. Not like the place was packed and she was swamped and had better things to do. My friend was told the creamy spinach could be served without bacon. Well........... just plain old spinach came out.... when asked, the manager said, the bacon was not something that could be left off so she was given regular spinach. (My friend was charged $9 for the creamy spinach when she actually got the regular $4 spinach). Service was not so great and our server had an attitude. Yet we had to pay a 20% service charge regardless. Seattle restaurants are getting a bit arrogant and this is not OK. I don't expect to pay for fine dining and get the service of a fast food restaurant. Seattle restaurants need to quickly check themselves because this 20% service charge with crappy service is getting OUT OF HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention... the prices here have sky rocketed.... $45 for salmon??? Come on - give me a break!

What can I say? It’s Daniel’s Broiler! Service was on point! Ambiance is okay, dining area and restrooms were impeccably clean and food was delicious as usual. I’m a rare to medium rare kind of girl but is married to a well done man and yes I still married him. I cringe every time he orders “cremated sirloin steak please” but Daniel’s is the only place this picky eater devours his food. I was curious to see how my husband’s maltreated steak tasted and it was well done with no sign of life (pink) all throughout but was actually still juicy, well seasoned and surprisingly tender. Wow! Our dinner party for five was over $600 before gratuity but was worth every penny. I could have easily purchased steaks at our local specialty butcher and saved a lot of money but you are paying for the over all experience and impeccable service. *****(5 stars!)

Delicious meal while visiting Seattle on vacation! Our server, George took really good care of us! Enjoyed Lobster Bisque & Filet Mignon with Baked Potatoe! Wife had hers with Garlic Mashed Potatoes

This is the great place to relax and enjoy the finest steak in North West ,great view's of Lake Union ,and the ambiance is very cozy , ( I find the lighting is a little dark for me ! ) not a cheap place go for steak dinner ! I all way say you pay what you get ! I order the Porterhouse (M R ) ,comes out perfect , my business partner 's Lamb Chops looks very yummy ,a little over burn outside , but very juices ,, ,services is excellent , I do not have any problem with the 20 % service change ,I been eating out a lot around the world , a lot of City's they do put the service change on the bill ,special in Asian ,you lucky to get away 20 % ,around 30% less ! ,also in Europe too ! over all ,as long you have a great happy dinner ,what is another extra 5% ( Average tip is 15 % ) If I am back in Seattle ,I will be back try the Lamb Chop ! drop in and try it out !

We have been going to Daniel's Broiler for years and I can say that they have been so consistent and good and that's no easy trick in the restaurant biz.

Went with my wife for a celebratory anniversary dinner on a weekday just before an Alaskan cruise. Had not booked and was still accommodated in a nice inside table with lake views. We were served by savannah who was most helpful and fully understood that we wanted this to be a no-rush relaxed dinner with sufficient time between courses. My wife ordered spicy prawns which were properly spicy and delicious. My small-portion chowder was equally delicious. The main-course halibut my wife ordered was perfectly cooked and faultless. My prime rib was also very good but a little fatty although Savannah had warned me about this. I was surprised to be asked to cut into my steak when it arrived to check if it was cooked the way I had ordered it but I took this to be good service. All in all, an excellent experience worth the high prices

Came here to celebrate our Anniversary. This restaurant has all the bells and whistles of fine dining in atmosphere, but does not live up to expectations. My porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly on the inside but the outside was completely burnt and ashy. It was also drowning in a pool of butter and there was still 2 huge servings of butter still on top. The New York side was really tough and very hard but the filet mignon side was perfect. My husband said his filet mignon was just ok. It was cooked alright but he said it was slightly tuff and was unusually fatty. Our waiter had forgotten to bring my roasted corn but she never came back till our meal was almost done so there was no point in bringing it out. I had the dessert duo. The creme brulee was on point but the cake was painfully dry and tasted like it came out of a frozen box from cash and carry. Yuck. The rolled chocolate stick. Gives it the appearance of something classy but it doesn't make it taste classy. I also found it extremely poor taste to have a tip auto included in the balance. I always tip 18 to 20% regardless of sub par service or not. Since it is just the 2 of us and not a large party, I find that practice to be a poor choice for fine dining. Also for a dessert wine of moscato you would only sell by the half bottle. Don't you make enough from a glass alone? I found Daniels Broiler to have extremely bloated prices but making cheap cutbacks in areas where they could deliver the appearance of fine dining but not actually giving fine dining. Try Ruth's Chris, El Goucho, or Six Seven.

The service was horrible. We waited 22 minutes before we got menus and that’s after we waited almost 10 before we were greeted with water. I paid $16 for a glass of wine that was watered down... The kids meals were definitely from the freezer section. The prime rib was “nothing to write home about” according to my husband. And I ordered the halibut that was over cooked but at the same time barely warm when it was served. Over all we paid $174 for basically a horrible meal with horrible service.

What a shock, 20% tip for service. TIP, stands for To Insure Prompt service, not to boost wages. The service was fine, but when they deliver food and four men with flashlights descend on your table and demand how is your food prepared. Give me a break, let me cut the meat on my time, not yours, and I will let you know. The food was very good, but very expensive, for what you get. Then when you get the bill they put 20% on your parking bill, this is wrong. There is no where to park around there for Handicapped, as it all says VALET. With this 20% on food, and parking is one reason WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!

Visited this location last Wednesday with a business associate. Happy hour is a rip off and not explained well. Ordered a rib eye steak rare. Was presented with a Daniel's Delmonico served medium. The say their meat is premium aged...tasted very tough and over cooked. John our waiter did take off $6.00 since the Delmonico was $66.00 and the rib eye was a mere$ 60.00. The service was very good, the meal was not! In all honesty, I have had much better steaks at Outback. Very disappointed. Try Duke's next door.

Kudos to Daniel’s Broiler! I am vegan and had a gift card from years ago to Daniels. I looked on their website to see if they had any good vegan options. Well... they have an entire plant-based menu (you have to request it) and the food was amazing! We had the Crispy Tofu, Lola’s Lumpia, Lettuce Wraps and Kimchi Fried Grains & Rice. Every single dish was absolutely excellent!

Nice waitress but not very knowledgeable. We asked 2 questions, one about the food that she did not know or find an answer to , and another about the sweetness level of one of the Rieslings that I was not familiar with, again she did not know the answer, even after asking her co workers, where is the Sommelier???. Overpriced, mediocre food, good portions sizes and kudos to the water server, he was always on top of it.

I’ll start out by saying this is a really nice restaurant. The location is beautiful. The steak we had was delicious but certainly not worth $65. Please consider offering veggies with your steak meals - one shouldn’t have to choose potatoes or veggies but should have both at this price point. I also didn’t like the 20% gratuity that was automatically added to my bill; Let the customers decide how much to tip. In conclusion it was a good meal but I probably would not return.

First night in Seattle, near the hotel. Don't get me wrong, the steaks were very, very good - but it was expensive. Friendly staff but up-selling un-necessary. Was it worth it? Not for a business meal - a special occasion maybe, but for me, it was not justified. If you don't mind splashing the cash, you'll love it.

We visited Daniel's Broiler for the Piano Bar and It was AWESOME!!! The "Piano Man" Kacey Evans was AMAZING!!!! He kept the audience totally engaged throughout the entire evening. He was always asking for requests and played a wide range of music!! Not only can he play the piano but his voice is Fantastic!!! Prime 809 Piano Lounge at Daniel's Broiler is A Definite Must Visit!!! I Promise.....You won't be disappointed!!! Fun Time For Everyone!!!!!

Visited here with 3 generations of our family. Staff was very friendly and accommodating fir our seating arrangement. Enjoyed a number of the appetizers ($4) off menu price during HH in the bar. The calamari & fried artichoke hearts were very good. The ahi was artfully presented and the bacon cheeseburger big enough to cut into smaller servings. The strip steak was easy to share. With 2 drinks x 5 guests and 5 appetizers our bill with 20% added service charge came to $225.00 so not inexpensive! View always worth paying for.

Excellent table over looking the lake - the food was excellent' especially the rib-eye steaks. We enjoyed the atmosphere and it was easy to have a sensible conversation as it was not too noisy like some restaurants. The prices for the steaks were not cheap but you are paying for quality. It was a shame they didn't have more different small cuts of 8oz apart from the fillet as not everyone wants 12 oz, 16oz or larger steaks!

Years since I'd been to Daniel's Broiler, a friend invited me to attend a financial presentation. The dinner was first-class perfection. Graciously served, the lovely Caesar salad was just the right portion size with crisp Romaine and lightly dressed. The Prime Petite Filet Mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini was an inviting trio on the plate. Ahh, the filet mignon was melt-in-your-mouth scrumptious. For dessert a small scoop of strawberry ice cream in a short glass goblet sufficed. Everything looked and tasted superb, even the unsweetened ice tea. Rarely have I experienced such perfection and what a joy to not receive the check.

We arrived in Seattle on Thanksgiving so booked the fixed price Thanksgiving dinner, for $60 a head excluding drinks and service. Starters of a prawn salad were meagre - I quite literally had *A* prawn. Main course turkey with trimmings was much more successful, with tasty moist turkey and delicious vegetables. Desserts were lovely bit enormous. Our only complaint is the speed at which everything was brought out - main courses were served before one of our party had finished their starter, and our whole dinner was done and dusted in a little over an hour. I know that we Europeans tend to linger over dinner but even by American service standards it was too fast! Delightful and friendly service

I met my sister-in-law here for dinner while I was in Seattle. First things first. The restaurant was 1.5 miles from my hotel and I left 45 minutes prior to our meeting figuring I had plenty of time. Traffic was so heavy it took me an hour and 20 minutes to get there. Physically the restaurant is "old school fancy" and I mean that in a good way. It is at the water with quite a few boats to look out on. We started with an appetizer of artichoke hearts that was fantastic. We each had a salad and a steak -bring your checkbook!. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. The only criticism was that we had a table of 4 men in their 30s next to us and they were very loud.

Nice romantic comfortable atmosphere that over see the water, Very attentive servers that apply them self's on making there customer's feel completely satisfied with the services.

So here's the deal.... nice atmosphere, friendly staff and really good food. The two stars are due to one fact only: I normally consider my ability to tip as influenced by the service I experience. Mandating a 20% charge be included as part of the total bill (includes alcohol which is marked up) left a bad taste in my mouth. Consider this; a server who traditionally gets lower tips than comparable servers may be an indication of a training opportunity. The reverse is true of a server who takes home consistently larger tips. So let's look at our example: our server Maria, was average in every measured experience. Not great & not bad but certainly not a 20% 'thank you' service provider. The no-opt-out charge should be reviewed by management. Especially if you buy a bottle of wine with your meal. Exemplary service should be the determining factor in tipping, not a a blanket fee for service that wouldn’t warrant 10 percent. Sorry Daniels, comparable food quality and atmosphere can be found close by and until you change the policy you'll have one less local customer.

Jeanette was such a pleasure, she was very knowledgeable and kept the whole experience fun and light-hearted. Would come back for the delicious filet mignon & Rib-eye we ordered, in addition to having such a lovely experience withher as well! 10/10 recommend

I very rarely give 1 Star. You CAN’T criticize the location, view, atmosphere, servers & valet. I would give them all 5 stars. It is not the price, or even the 20% mandatory added charge to help Daniel’s Broiler with their bottom line. It is because: When you brand yourself as a high end steak house, display wonderful & accurate versions of the steaks in your display case but serve average meat that you could get almost anywhere, then you deserve 1 Star. If you like short reviews stop here. If you want to read the details, you can read them below. We paid $300+ for a ribeye steak and a flight (3 - 4 ounce) filet mignons. Both entrees came with delicious garlic mashed potatoes. We split one desert and we each had a coffee. No wine, no starters, no salad. My Entree: I was excited to try Waygu beef. I ordered my flight medium rare. Our server explained Domestic Waygu beef is not Japanese Waygu beef, but it should be as “tender as butter”. What I received was one medium rare and two rare steaks. Of the three filets I had, the Waygu was the toughest, the Piedmontese was second toughest and the USDA Prime filet was the the most rare and most tender. This was fun, but they did not look like the ones in the case or resembled what each filet mignon was suppose to be. I was really disappointed with the Waygu. My Wife’s Entree: We eat ribeye a lot, like twice a week. This was not ribeye, some sort of sirloin steak, but not ribeye and it looked nothing like the one in the case in the lobby. It was like a tough steak not a tough ribeye. Enough said. *A note to management, people do not want to ruin the potential for a wonderful night out by complaining their $120 flight of filets are possibly not what they are advertised to be, they just want things to be awesome as advertised. Yes we could have complained and stressed our server and cooks out, but this review hopefully will help YOU live up to your brand. You direct the unsatisfied people to your facebook page for reasons I am not interested in, sorry. You can email if you would like. Timzorrr@ gmail.com

We booked reservations on July 4 at 9:45PM to be able to eat and watch the fireworks over Lake Union. When we arrived we were told that the restaurant was overbooked and they could not accommodate us at the time but we were able to watch the fireworks from outside on their waterfront dining area. We were very displeased and upset but we rolled with the punches and dealt with the situation. The manager on duty was very gracious and apologetic. She went as far as giving us a $100 gift card for the inconvenience. We weren’t sure we would be able to make it back as it was our last day. We made reservations for the 5th and decided to go back and give it another shot. I’m so glad we did. We were graciously welcomed and thanked for deciding to return. We were sat right away and experienced excellent service. Molly was our server and she was so great. Everything we ordered was tasty and delicious. We finished the meal with dessert and coffee. We were not disappointed. At the end of the meal a male manager came over and thanked us for giving them Another shot. He went as far as to comp our desserts, coffee and a couple other items on top of the $100 gift card we had received. Wow. Blown away and unexpected. I say all this to say they made a bad experience a GREAT one. Kudos to all of your staff and professional attitudes. If you are in the area then go there and you won’t be disappointed. There is a 20% service charge but it is worth every penny for the level of service you get here at Daniel’s Broiler at Lake Union!!!! 5 Stars

12oz Fillet was excellent. Service and attitude were very good. Bit pricey, yet it was worth every penny

In order to submit a review, I was forced to fill in fields unrelated to my experience, so those irrelevant responses should be disregarded. Normally, reviews are submitted by those who have actually dined at a particular establishment. I never had the chance. I called the South Lake Union location in late March to make reservations for Mother's Day. I was told that the main dining room seats up to twelve guests. As my party would consist of fourteen adults, and three small children, I was referred to the Private Dining coordinator to make arrangements. I called late on a Sunday, so was not surprised to get voice mail. A (seemingly) very pleasant woman named Shelly returned my call the next day, and took my information. She explained that there would be a $1,000.00 minimum, and a $500.00 deposit to secure the reservation. Understood. She said that she would forward information regarding the deposit, and whatever else via email. Shame on me for waiting more than 72 hours for that email to appear, but I let two weeks pass before leaving another message to say that I had still not seen it. I repeated my email address if it had been unclear, or she may have copied it incorrectly the first time. In response, I received -- NOTHING! No phone call, no email, no apology. Yes, I always check for "junk/spam". It was not there either. Having dined there previously, as well as at another nearby Schwartz Brothers restaurant, Chandler's Crab House (since closed), for Mother's Day several years ago, we were looking forward to an awesome dining experience. Our party consisted of 6 - 8 on those earlier occasions, so reservations were made via the main number. This, combined with their off-putting 20% "service fee", on which Sales Tax is charged (!), one might imagine the bitter taste remaining after this unbelievable experience. As El Gaucho also charges the same 20% ripoff fee, we passed on them, as well as Palisade, for what seemed to be a disproportionate number of poor reviews. Fortunately, and on relatively short notice, we were able to secure reservations (no "minimum" or deposit required), at the 13 Coins location in Bellevue this year. No incredible scenic views there, but hey, I'll probably save a few bucks. Thanks, Daniel's!

Everything at Daniel's met with our approval, and in fact merited raves. The meat was perfectly done, the wine was excellent, and the dessert equally so. The service was impeccable.

We had a business Dinner with 18 People in a private dining room. The private dining room was Drk and ugly and the set up without any love or style. Meat was ok butt missing totally the real grill flavor and experience. Felt more loke done in a pan! Masjed potatoes way to salty and broccoli cold. The highlight was when the waiters suddenly tok away our wine glasses at 9 pm instead of asking if we want to drink more wine!!! I do not know how this place are arguing their premium prices

The prime rib here was melt in your mouth good!! The server was excellent. Love the atmosphere . I heard this is one of the best places in Seattle for steak. So, I had to try it and I am glad i did.

If it is all about status, come here, if you want a truly enjoyable, reasonably priced meal go elsewhere. As a party of 8, we came to celebrate our son's 30th birthday. We knew beforehand it was going to be pricey but that was fine. We were seated right away and the waiter was attentive. The manager came and introduced himself and welcomed us (but read on for the irony). We ordered a variety of things off the menu-some just wanted appetizers for their meal, some wanted steaks, some wanted seafood so our order was all over the board. Daniel's Broiler fell flat on their faces in a few areas. The steak order was fantastic as was the lobster mac and cheese and the half chicken dinner. The two different fish plates on the other hand were not. I would have been embarrassed to put the plates on the table. The very small piece of salmon rested on about 1/4 c of quinoa and the halibut was on some sort of pea side dish which in actuality had four peas (yes, four!) in it. The tomatoes in the caprese salad were refrigerated which any chef knows you never refrigerate tomatoes (giving them a stale, funny taste). And the big kicker was that on the cold appetizer plate, two of the oysters on the half shell were empty. Not an oyster to be seen. One would think at $55 a pop, quality control coming out of the kitchen would be a touch better. We didn't say anything at the time since we didn't want to ruin our son's big celebration. When we got ready to pay, we used gift cards we purchased at a very large box store, saving us $100 off the quite large bill. The waiter condescendingly said-not asked, "You didn't use valet parking, did you?" implying because we used gift cards that we were too cheap to use valet parking. The evening wasn't a bust but I did feel the necessity to send an e-mail to the manager (remember the above statement about him) regarding the oysters. I put in the caveat I wasn't sending an e-mail to get something out of it, I just wanted to caution him that there should be quality control coming out of the kitchen, and/or on the waiter's part, especially at the high prices they charge. I would have thought I would at least receive an apology but not a peep and this was in mid-July. I read into this that DB doesn't care about their customers. We will never patronize Daniel's Broiler again.

Is an expensive place. Do not expect to enter Daniel's and get food for average price. They are expensive but steak and dessert are great as well service (wich you will pay at 20%). But is a place where you can host a special night for a special even and you will not find surprise in quality or service. Just be ready for a $$$$$ bill.

My wife and I went to Daniels for our 26th anniversary dinner and had a great meal with excellent service from Kevin our waiter. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and very tender. Everything we had helped to make this a memorable evening

Lovely service, fantastic food, generous portions and the fantastic service at Daniel's Broiler, definitely one for the good memories in Seattle.

I follow a vegan diet. I was offered their vegetarian menu which I declined. Their veggie sides on the regular menu are enough for 2. When I addressed that with our server she said they could do half portions. I ordered the asparagus, baked potato, the squash and some sautéed mushrooms and onions. Everything was amazing, the best veggies I have ever had anywhere. It was swimming and drenched in oil/ butter.

Go here when weather good as view of water, ships, and landing seaplanes is great. Bring sunglasses as the glare can be horrific. Service good, menu varied, drink menu great, and food very good. Very low key atmosphere, not dressy.

Fresh off the plane, we stumbled into this place. And it was the most amazing dining experience. The bread was the most delicious, and the clam chowder was perfect. I had the popcorn shrimp that comes with two sauces, and it was a treat. We ordered the artichoke but I wasn't a fan. The menu didn't explain that it was breaded and fried.....so that was not something I recommend. It is a steakhouse, but because of the odd timely of our trip, we were eating at an odd hour and decided to skip the steak. The view of our booth made the dining experience amazing. The staff was so friendly and kind and accommodating, it was like we were celebrities or something. I can't wait to visit this place again.

We had a great nite at this restaurant. We ate in the bar and the food was good, drinks were great and the service was excellent. The best part was the piano bar after we ate. I am a musician so I don't go to piano bars but we did this evening and we had a blast!! Casey is an excellent musician and singer and funny as hell. It was a great night and I would go back to see Casey anytime.

This was a great place that must have had a change of management. Server was rude. Drink showed up after we were almost done eating. Food preparation is not nearly as good as it used to be. We are sad to say that this is no longer a place for us to frequent in Seattle.

Food was good , vieuw was nice , service was not matching the prices , more at the level of a take out It took them more than 30 minutes to serve bread , no quistion asked about how the food was Prices are sky high and they give them self 20 % tip My opnion not worth it

After a VERY bad experience I was contacted by the management of Daniels. They requested information about the visit which I provided and promised to get back to me to "make it right". In continuing the tradition of poor service they never got back to me. Again, for a great night out keep looking.

So as with so many businesses, they know better how to realocate tips to their servers in the "form of wages, benefits". Lol. Here... Gimmie your tips and ill decide what to spend it on. What a joke. "how can we add 10% to our bottom line?" "take 20% from the wait staff and give them back 10% in wages and benefits." Our food last night was ok. The sham we discovered at Daniels was not. Wont be back.

We had 7 pm reservations, and were seated outside on the deck. It was a great view of the boats and the water, we just had to wear our jackets, as the wind was blowing through at regular intervals. The lobster tail was yummy, and the chocolate chip cookie was tasty. We would definitely come back here.

Took my daughter for dinner. The waiter clearly was under pressure to move his table. The incredibly expensive caesar salad was just a pile of romaine chopped up and smeared with too much dressing. Undercooked side dishes. The steak was good but really overpriced compared to a real steak house like the Metropolitan. I will never, ever go there again.

Took two friends to celebrate a birthday. Because Daniel's was a last minute decision, we arrived with no reservation yet sat at a wonderful Lake Union view table enjoying fabulous food and service. We recommend the Prime Rib Dip, Steakhouse Burger and Steak Sandwich. Exceptional sides included the sweet corn & believe or not, Brussels sprouts. What a lovely surprise for my friend to receive a beautifully presented birthday lava cake, ice cream and lit candle, complimentary. The automatic 20% service fee simply saved me the time to calculate. Truly, an outstanding birthday lunch!

We went to Daniel's Broiler to listen to Diane Fast in the Piano Bar. We went early to make sure we got a table in the piano bar so we could eat dinner there also. Our dinner was really good. We split a salad, and a steak and lobster dinner. It was plenty of food for both my husband and I. I appreciate restaurants that not only allow you to split a plate, but the do it for you, and don't charge a additional charge for doing so. Diane Fast on the piano was great. She asked for requests from each table which kept everyone engaged. We enjoyed our dinner, drinks, and mostly the music of Diane Fast in the piano bar.

Delicious lunch at Daniel's on Union Lake. In a great position overlooking the lake and watching the sea planes taking off and landing. Great range of lunchtime options. My Lobster Club salad was particularly notable. Everyone enjoyed their lunch for the food, service and ambiance.

While we were here for a business dinner, this would also be an excellent "date night" spot. The view of Lake Union was spectacular. The menu is typical steak house fare, but there were some great seafood options. We settled on steaks, but couldn't resist the artichoke appetizer. The steaks were a generous portion and served with a very large portion of broccoli. They were cooked to perfection.

So let me start with the great view! The view is really outstanding and makes u go there! We have ordered a New York steak (quite expensive). The price and location higher our expectations. Unfortunately the meat was more than basic without any sauce any cream. The backed potato aside was ok. The bill at the end was really expensive due to the additional fees which you are obliged to pay! I am generous in supporting the service and would like to decide myself where and how much I would like to pay! To be honest I would not go back.
Very good, but not great!
Although the food was very good, it was still not up to the quality received at other high end restaurants like Ruth Chris or the Metropolitan Grille. Add the overcooked steaks, and the 30.00 service charge to offset tips and 15.00 minimum wage requirements, plus the 8.00 valet parking and you have nearly 200.00 for 1 steak dinner, 3 glasses of wine, dessert and a salad. No bargain by any measure. The view was nice, but there are better water views around for a lot less money and equal or better prepared food & service.in the Seattle area
