Newest Dave & Buster's is a great adult playland...

By Debbie O |

Just visited the new Dave & Buster's in downtown San Antonio on Commerce street. They don't validate parking but the Rivercenter Mall has a parking garage or you can find street parking on a surface lot. Tuesdays are free parking downtown in city garages, so I'd recommend you go for a fun date night or happy hour then. I had lunch and the food was super, great options, hot and very tasty with reasonable pricing. The games are really cool, not what you see at the kid places and they have awesome prizes in their exchange shop. As an added bonus they have private meeting rooms with AV & screens built in along with catering menus, so perfect for a team building event, ADM Asst luncheon, Happy Hour or Mgmt Celebration. Definitely a fun date night with a few friends!

Lots of fun for the big kids

By Frampy24 |

The beer prices were fair and the games are plenty! Adults and kids alike will have fun here. Cash your tickets in for some neat prizes too.

EAT, DRINK, PLAY!

By Tony T |

We've always loved Dave & Buster's! Great food, fantastic staff, Games for grown ups (as well as the little ones if they tag along), great drinks, unsurpassable service for a sports bar and grill, and all the sports you can handle on a huge array of Tv's! All games have a service button, so when your ready for a refill of your drink, press the button, get topped off and keep on gaming! It's a grown ups play ground!!! Its just so convenient to drop in at this D&B's when visiting S.A. since this one is right on the river! So next time your on the RiverWalk, stop on by, Load Up, Refuel, and Game On!

Great food great service and video games

Food was really good. Well presented and tasty. The waitress was really good kept our glasses filled. Good selection of video games.

Good food, a bit expensive, NASTY MEN'S ROOM

By Dave R |

This was a great location for our family to have a spur of the moment gathering. The food was great if a little pricey. The service was a bit slow that Saturday night. But the Men's room was a MESS!!

Terrible service

By Brushman50 |

We love Dave and busters. We go to them whenever we travel to San Antonio or Austin. This one we experienced a total lack of any service. We were not greeted when we came in. We sat at bar for a drink while kids played. After sitting for awhile a server finally came over put two napkins done and my husband started to order but he totally ignored him and walked off. We waited and he never came back. The only person that was helpful was the person at the front that helps with reloading your cards. So after this experience we left and will probably not be back to this location.

Loud with average food

By HOSKI |

Loud with average food about says it all. I went because a friend wanted to eat there. I wasn't impressed.

Football Fans Delight

By Slats66 |

We can recommend the steak salad, Teriyaki sirloin and sweet potato fries.Service was attentive and kept the glasses of iced tea full. Reasonably priced and handy in the River Center near the Alamo. Trolley stop is just outside the door for those not able to walk the distance from their hotel.

Great Saturday night fun

Felt like a big kid!!

By William G |

I was downtown with a few friends who were visiting from the east coast. After doing the typical tourist thing they wanted a bite to eat and everything on the riverwalk was busy so they suggested Dave and Busters. I didn’t have high expectations considering I’m 45 years old and not with my kids but WOW was I blown away. We got there and there must have been a party going on and it was only 12:30 in the afternoon. I don’t know if the staff though we were part of the party or what but they greeted us with a smile and it felt like they were waiting for us. We got seated right away and Sheree our server was friendly at efficient. The food was great, I had this double burger and when it came out it looked intimidating. The manager told me it was new on the menu and challenged me to finish it on my own. My friends and I were kind of surprised because the level of service downtown usually is terrible but we were being treated like royalty for some reason. I even asked the waitress Sheree if there was a “Big Wig” in town to see if that’s why everyone was so on top of things and she laughed and said “I’ll make sure I tell my boss you said that!” We finished eating and took our drinks into the game room and played like I was back in elementary school....... I can’t believe how much fun it was. Even some guys in black and white checkered shirts played with us who said they work there. As we left we were thanked multiple times for coming and I told the waitress I would do a survey that was on my check and mention her but I’m taking it one step further and leaving another review here! If your ever downtown in San Antonio stop by and go to this place, you won’t regret it! Ask for Sheree and tell her William sent you!

Lots of fun.

Once we were arrived at the front register we were quickly greeted be a friend guy eager to help. When we were attempting to charge up our power card he was repeatedly interrupted by a coworker. I found this very confusing when there was about six cards being processed from different people all at once. After they figured out the mess they had working we were able to enjoy the rest of the evening. I highly recommend going on a Wednesday for half price game day.

Great Service. Great Food. Great Watermelon Margaritas

By MLB768 |

The service was outstanding and the food and drinks were great. My only complaint would be that it was pretty loud there - but that's the nature of the restaurant (and we knew what we were getting ourselves into). Great place.

Fun date

By Jessica B |

My husband and myself went just to play games. We found a coupon spend $25 get 25 free. Lots of the game options and all the machines were working. We had so much fun and it was very clean.

Food was fine

By Mike D |

Ordered apple pecan chicken salad. Came out from kitchen in fair time. Service was really slow... and the music was painful after a while... maybe better at dinner hour.

Great variety

By Mark S |

So when visiting cities, ones that have Dave and busters, I make an extra effort to check out their menu. Dave and busters can sometimes have a unique items on their menu. Plus I don't mind the atmosphere the bar mixed with the amusement games even though all my kids are older now it still brings back good memories of me taking my kids there. So first the atmosphere great for family great for kids and if you are like me a game of skeet ball or 5 is great after dinner. I sat at the bar since I went in by myself. I was in San Antonio for work so I decided just to stop there instead of going to some of the restaurants on the Riverwalk. So the bartender was friendly but younger not as courteous as you would expect the other restaurants that cater to tourist. Most Dave and buster restaurants do not have high level of service just because of the game and bar Atmosphere that's mixed. The food was excellent great variety on the menu. Different items that had a unique mix to them. And price was fairly average. So I enjoyed my meal played a few games of ski ball went back to the hotel, had a good night.

Poor Experience

By MidnightShadow3 |

I'll start with the positives of the place, which are scarce. The staff was friendly, the portion sizes of food were generous, and the claw game actually worked like it should (no dropping things that you should have clearly won). Our waiter came to take our order, and since it was our first visit, we wanted to know how much it cost to play the games so that we knew how much to get for our daughter on the cards. He said he didn't know, but would check. He came back and said it was "3 to 7 tokens per game." Okay, so a $10 card had, I believe, 48 tokens? We purchased the two for one deal ($20 for $10). Unfortunately, the server didn't know what he was talking about. The cheapest game was 2.8 tokens. Most of them were 6.8 tokens, and a rather large amount were 9.9 tokens and above. The uneven use of tokens leaves unused token numbers on the card, which you can't do anything with unless you purchase more. In most cases, the games were simply not worth the amount of tokens they were charging. The next question was about an appetizer offered by the city of San Antonio for anybody who was there for a conference. All you had to do was show your badge and purchase two entrees. That's what we were doing, but we were told that both adults had to have a badge to get the offer. The only thing the offer mentioned in the booklet was that you purchase two entrees and show your badge. I did both, but had to speak with a manager to get the deal. At least they did accommodate, so that's a plus. The food came out in a decent amount of time and had an okay flavor. My wife and I both had a burger (mine was a double and hers was a single). Her single patty was about the same thickness and both of my patties combined, so I'm not really sure what I paid extra for there. In addition, you could tell that the patties were frozen and not fresh. The fries were good. My daughter didn't really like the pretzel mini hot dogs, but that's subjective and more along the lines of personal taste. Overall, the experience was poor, the staff was not knowledgeable, the cost was high, and the end result was expensive. I don't believe we will visit another Dave & Buster's in the future.

So close to greatness!

By Scooter1223 |

This was my third visit over a year and a half time span. The atmosphere never fails to satisfy and meet expectations. And the food is delicious. I've never been disappointed. However, this is quite possibly the slowest service of anywhere in San Antonio. We waited over an hour from the time we walked in until our food arrived. And it was only slightly slower than our other two visits. You are so close to being great.

Half Off Wednesdays !!!

By rks7792 |

Food was great, can't beat half off games. It get busier towards the evening so I recommend getting there early

Just OK

By Danielle N |

It was a place just to waste an hour os so until our movie started. Visiting our Sailor who told us he hadn't even gone in the 4 months he has been there. His view was that there were better things to do, I'd have to agree. The first 30 minutes were good and then you run out of things to do. Played the games that were working, challenged each other, laughed and then had to go back and play games just to spend what was left on our card. Didn't try the food or even order drinks so can't review that. I imagine much younger kids would enjoy this but as for adults, I think it grows boring quick.

The perfect spot to catch the game!

By Steven B |

D & B's is a great place to hang out, enjoy some amazing food, killer cocktails and great service! This place is like Chuck E. Cheese for grownups! Full of arcade games, tv's and an outstanding staff that are busy taking customer service to the next level! Go check it out the next time your favorite team is playing and you'll see what I mean!

Always Great

By Red-Super-Hero |

Great Food - Great Service - Great Games - Great Fun for all ages - Will return over and over again.

My kids loved it!

By ninetysgirl |

The kids had a great time and most importantly they all hit a jackpot at the arcade which made them feel really good! The prizes were scarce but all in all they had a great time!

SO much FUN!

By pidaua |

My husband and I had a blast at D&B. We walked from the restaurants in the RW down to the Mall and used a coupon ($20 gets you an additional $20 in credits). We played several games and ended up beating this weird zombie one. Great time!!!

Lunch

By Lisa R |

We were in San Antonio for a conference and popped over to D & B for a quick lunch (or so we thought). We had 1/1/2 hours for lunch and the restaurant wasn't busy at all, so plenty of time, right? Wrong. We sat in open seating and waited....and waited....and finally the manager and a waitress came and took our order. And then we waited....and waited.....and waited. Finally, after inquiring about our order, four of our group received their lunch.....the other two waited even longer.....after 1 hour and 15 minutes, they got their food. They literally had to cram their food--and even left some on the plate--because we had to be back at the conference. After we complained to the manager, he did comp the two very late meals. In summary, service was terrible (and the poor waitress was literally running to get our food, drinks, tickets, etc.), but the food was very good...when we finally got it.

Been to better

By nwnh40 |

Been to bigger and better, food is just ok, really don't like the layout. Service is good. Kids had fun that's all that matters

A Little Overrated

By carol i |

Food, average. Nothing stands out. Do not order the Calamari. You will get only 30% calamari. The other 70% are fried onions and fried sliced pickled pepper that look like calamari.

Fun place downtown, big menu...

By Debbie O |

Lunch meeting, fun place with a gigantic menu, you can order anything from a steak to a salad to a burger or even pasta with lobster sauce. It's definitely kid-friendly, pricing is pretty reasonable for a downtown location and our server was fantastic - very warm and welcoming.

Cool time

By j0rgemarrer01 |

We're from Orlando where we have our own Dave & Buster's. This one was in San Antonio was fun but wasn't as exciting. A few machines were down & became down as we played. A bit more expensive by a few dollars. I always recommend a Dave & Buster's to anyone. I got a jackpot at this one, 1000 tickets!

Good times!

By RaulMex70 |

Excellent food and even sitting at the bar gave the whole experience a different approach. Loved it! The service, the drinks, the food, the atmosphere. I'll definitely go back for some long island iced tea!

Not for us

By paws0810 |

Just not for us. Too long for food to arrive. Missing items and reported to manager got a portion of bill taken off. It was 7pm but should have had better service

SA Dave and Busters

By GSP_Mom |

Just like all the rest. As an adult I really like the gaming area. Food, not so much. Kids like it, which is what counts. As we were staying close to the hotel we came here often to get out of the heat and for my son to play games. Ate here one night. 45 minutes for a table with plenty of open seating. Perhaps a staffing issue. Menus are online. Service was slow. I think our server had an entire section to herself with no food runner or any other assistance. Can’t fault her, she did the best she could and got a generous tip. Food was hot when delivered. The area to cash in tickets for prizes is roped off and only so many allowed inside; guessing due to Covid capacity limitations. Prizes are very picked over. Four stars for entertainment. If ranking food only would give 2 stars. Service, as noted was slow but I feel that’s a management staffing issue, not personal to our server.

A good time

By Dominic23 |

D&B is exactly what you would expect it to be, a fun place to have good food and great drinks. Of course, it will always be about the company you are with but this place can be fun if you are alone as well. I would say, it's a bit more modern that the one at Crossroads mall. It has a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly.

Fun and Good Food

Took visiting family to the newest location in San Antonio off River Walk. We were pleased with good selection and service. Love the smoke free environment and great selection of games. We plan to return for our son's birthday.

Rude Bar Service

By Christopher N |

Stopped in with my son. Bar was quiet, started a tab and played games for about 2 hours. Went to close out tab and bar was busy with tour. Asked bar tender to close out tab...said "give me second." 5 minutes....10 minutes...15 minutes and I ask again. He says "give me a second." I say "it's been quite a few seconds." I understand he wants to make money but it's just plain RUDE to ignore someone and make them wait with their kid while you serve 10 people who came in after you. I'm a business owner so I know customer service. Not going back to any dave and busters after this. Sour taste in my mouth.

Nightmare visit!!!!!!!!

By MrQue54456 |

I should have taken the hint at the door. After being seated it the waitress a good five minutes to come and take our drink orders and then she was totally confused by me asking her to split the check. Next it took at least fifteen to twenty minutes for the food to come out; which I would not have complained so bad except it was extremely slow afternoon. No reason for the service to be this bad. She never checked on us or came back to refill drinks. To make this nightmare worst they still messed up the check and over charged my debit card. Now I can't get anyone to return my calls and getting the run around from the manager. Now this is not the norm for Dave and Buster but I'm extremely disappointed in them.

Great

By Wagner S |

Dave & Buster's is always fun time. Thematic restaurant, full of Tex-Mex options. Good food, friendly staff. Convenient location at the Rivercenter Mall.

just blah

By mtgirl1982 |

Service was slow and lacking. not much for food or drinks as the menu is limited and bottled beer only. The game area was dirty and all the tables full of bottles and empty drinks.

Not the best D&B I've seen...

By Theresa M |

A bit disappointing, no counters in game area for loading power cards. Restaurant was busy, food mediocre.

Family Fun

By Ralph S |

Great family time.....bad service. Upon arrival we were giving an hour wait time which it was not necessary cause there was plenty of empty tables. Then we got dry mouths waiting for our drinks. 21 mins to get two drinks from the bar...ridiculous! My sons child's plate was better than my entree and we both ordered fish and ships. My wife's shake that took 21 minutes to make was made with spoiled milk. Very disappointed!

Fun time

By Mary Elizabeth C |

My 14 year old son loved Dave and Busters! Food was good and games were a lot of fun! We went at lunchtime, which I think has a more family-oriented vibe than dinnertime.

Food is better than it has to be

By SabRN |

With all the entertainment/games available, I wasn’t expecting much from the food. But I was pleasantly surprised. We were shopping in Rivercenter Mall and just needed a sandwich/burger for lunch. Wow! Phillycheese and cheeseburger was amazing and arrived hot with great presentation. I hate it when people post pictures of their food, but I must admit that I was tempted to take a picture. Service was excellent and would definitely make a return trip. The only downside was the noise level - music was too loud for casual conversation, but I’m sure this was to add to the overall gaming experience. But I would suggest turning it down a notch in the restaurant area.

Need a new chef

By hungry23 |

The staff was very nice and courteous. The place is very clean and seems to be well run. The food was not so hot. The ribs were the worst I've ever had and over priced at that.

Bad Bar Service

By Linda F |

Worst experience ever, will not be returning to this location or recommending to Anyone! My initial contact with staff was wonderful, although crowded, were greeted and treated in a friendly manner by people at the entrance. Bar service was horrible, they were busy, but there were open seats at the bar. My husband sat and I walked to the game area with my son. I returned and was surprised to find my husband hadn't been served yet, he was visibly and understandingly upset. I sat and watched as the bartenders served everyone around us. Second couple sat next to us, same with them. My husband called one of the bartenders over and asked if there was a manager available, proceeded to ask why we hadn't been served, he immediately became defensive and rude, the other bartender even walked by and smirked at us during the conversation. At one point the bartender interrupted my husband and said "look you could sit here and complain to me about the service or I could get you a drink, while you wait for the manager" I was stunned at his tone. I told him just order the drinks and we will wait for a manager. The second couple next to us tried to get the bartender's attention she snapped back I will be with you on a minute, same thing she had said to my husband and never returned. The customer then asked her why we were being ignored?? She proceeded to get rude and defensive as well, i was shocked at her attitude. The customer then through the drink menu down on the bar and the left. Within seconds that same manager we had been waiting for appears. He was overreacting, called security and told them his bartender was assaulted! The security left, and we tried to talk to the manager, he was even worse than his team! He would not hear us out, never apologized and had no intention of doing his job as a manager. I could see exactly what the problem was with the bar staff, Poor Management. The entire scene could have been avoided by three different employees, a simple I'm sorry, what can I get for you, from either of them, basic customer service. On a side note, the bright side is we had a wonderful time, the best customer service, dinner and drinks at Margaritaville, and they were even busier than Dave and Busters, but the staff was high spirited, and very personable. We even ran into the couple that had left before us. They explained they had been followed by security through the mall and didn't understand why. They assured us that the other location (Dave and Busters) was nothing like this one, they were just as shocked. Glad to see they also enjoyed there evening, elsewhere, after that horrible experience. This location definitely needs to be looked in on by corporate, just view the security tape, I'm positive it's all plain to see.

Great Experience

By Heather S |

We had a small party of 5 on busy Easter weekend. Lara was our server and she was outstanding, exceeded my tough expectations at every turn. We were seated quickly in a huge booth, everything was super clean and everyone moved so quick. What I love is that everyone on staff seems to be super friendly. Everyone passing by spoke and was helpful to their colleagues and all guests. If they keep this us, they will beat out other local restaurants easy. I was not feeling to well and had to take my entree to go, it was still delicious at home. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their apps and entrees/drinks. We had a great time and some of the BEST customer service I have experienced in my life. If i could rate service higher I would. The management of this place is doing something right. Please keep it up. Looking forward to our next trip.

It was OK

By rwk212 |

Wife and I visited here while staying downtown. Place was clean and staff was friendly, but we definitely prefer the other location here in San Antonio. We weren’t too fond of the games selection, and even though the bartenders were working frantically, we had to wait quite a while when ordering drinks.

Fun time

By 502ericaf |

we had an AMAZING TIME! we came for the bottomless wings and the game as well as the drinks they have to offer. the place is located inside the little riverwalk mall, spacious and very well done, plenty of games to play solo or in group. i would say that the bets game for groups is the Mario kart. for a solo game try to do the wizard of oz game cause you will get plenty of little credits and you will be able to get some neat gifts from the credit store. the drinks we had were from the signature drinks, they were tasty, a little weak as many chain places, but they were very tasty at the very least. my friend went to town with the wings and ate plenty during the game. i got the burger and the seasoned fries, i loved it, pretty amazing food. the only sad thing was that the waiter forgot to bring me the condiment that i asked for but over all the food was good and the drinks tasted great. make sure to take a look at the menu cause most deals for the meals include the game card, dont miss the deals here, they are worth it.

Football Sunday

By Anita M |

Needed to see home team while on vacation. Many large screens around restaurant, with signs identifying the games to be shown on that party set. Friendly staff good food and fun drinks. They do not rush you Long, we watched entire game!

The teens picked this one—adults went along for the ride.

By Kip K |

In one of my favorite cities there are many other places I would have picked. I was very surprised as a new item the street tacos. Excellent flavor! The kale Caesar was also a hit, We also enjoyed loaded tots a lot, the boneless wings were...eh, but the kids enjoyed. The service was excellent and the server made a big deal over my niece’s Airforce graduation. I was happy that the kids were happy with the things the adults considered average, while the adults found some unique flavors that made us happy.

Never Been

By ladyice1725 |

Decided to try this out since I see them popping up everywhere. The chain has strict guidelines. Sports bar, arcade area, family dining with tv. LOUD and COLD. Food was pretty good

Games on the River Walk

By Big red mom |

Located in the River Center ,this Dave and Busters is larger with plenty of seating and games . There are a good variety of games at fair prices especially when you sign up for specials on the app. There is paid parking for the mall. The supervision of kids by staff was minimal which made the area somewhat chaotic . It had been a busy holiday weekend so they were out of many things including food, tops and liquor . The bar was crowded and there were no auxiliary bars set up in the game room like they do in other cities . The managers were visible and offered assistance / apologies . The food came out cold but was reheated . It was a challenging visit but still fun.

Fun!

By Tina C |

We brought three boys ages 7, 10 & 13....needless to say, they LOVED this place. It is expensive, though. I would gladly return. Not busy at all on Monday at noon, it was nice to not have to fight a crowd and wait for games!

Great people!

By tngregscott |

I normally wouldn't leave a review on a chain, themed spot like this. But, we (on very short notice) arranged a large group outing while we were in town. D&B was fantastic - met our needs, took care of all of our folks, and delivered! Food was good, everyone had a good time, and the experience was fantastic. We would highly recommend them for a group event!

Terrible Food

By Marge387 |

We came for the arcade, but thought we'd eat first. Despite not being that busy, it took our food a while to come out. Once it did, we were so disappointed... We got the tomato feta soup, fresh garden salad, and hand-breaded crispy chicken sandwich. The salad was wilted and have multiple slimy, discolored pieces. We told the server and she took it away and removed it from our tab. She offered to bring something else out (if we paid for it), but we didn't wan to wait another 30 minutes for more terrible food to replace it. The soup didn't come with a spoon and it took a while for a spoon to be brought. It tasted like marinara and was luke-warm by the time a spoon arrived. The chicken sandwich was insanely salty, almost to the point it was inedible (and this is coming from my spouse dumps salt on everything usually). We were so upset about the food that we didn't even stay to play games. We won't be back.

Salad on a slab

By deckchair58 |

Was not sure if this place served food but it did. Large room. Staff friendly. Was a bit surprised when my salad with avocado arrived on a slab. Price reasonable. A bit noisy.

Perfect afternoon diversion on a rainy day with kids

By Tim M |

This is a well run D&B with all the usual features that kids (and some adults) love. It was also a gift from heaven on a rainy Wednesday afternoon when we were tired from two days of touring and just needed a break. All games are half price on Wednesdays so we happily spent an entire afternoon playing to our hearts' content without breaking the bank. It is conveniently located in the Riverwalk Mall next to the Alamo.

Know Your Destination

By Jeremy G |

Dave & Buster's is great for a lot of things: having a drink with friends, watching the game, playing arcade games with your kids... but there's some thing's it's not great for: reading a book, romantic dinners, interventions. This particular D&B I found to be exceedingly friendly and upbeat. The staff were all super-helpful and outgoing. The bar area was clean and quite neon. There were about 20 TVs lining three or four walls and over the bar -- truly an enjoyable place for an NFL fan to spend an hour on a Sunday afternoon. The food and beverage were excellent and well-presented, and best of all, quite reasonably priced! I had three blood orange ciders plus a big plate of buffalo wings with sweet potato fries. Even with a 20% tip, it was under $30.00.

Almost an adult Chuckee Cheese

By Mark W |

Known about Dave & Buster's for many years but never had the opportunity to visit one. My wife was very interested in it so we went to the one in the Rivercenter Mall. A little tricky to navigate through the mall but we finally arrived. We were greeted by the friendly staff who pointed us in the right direction for lunch first. The service is fast and friendly and the food is delicious. We then went to play some games and there are a lot of them. An interesting and fun place.

Fun Trip

By Lovely Southern Girl |

The kids loved Dave and Buster's games and food. They were excited about all of the gaming options available. The husband was just as excited as them and not for the establishment having plenty of pool tables, but for the gaming options available for adults as well.

Good Food

By Nolen_Jay |

Stopped in here twice during our visit to the area. Once just sat at the bar and had a few drinks. Next time me enjoyed our meal very much. Each time the service was very good.

Very disorganized

By Dmitri M |

1. We see why they have an arcade. 2. They said , after questioned about why they didn’t have us on the list (we had a pager) that they ‘didn’t think we would show up so they didn’t bother.’ Really??? 3. We left. That’s ridiculous.

Brand new, Good experience

By Connie J |

The waitstaff was great, we ate and played. The games were new and the experience delivered consistently with other Dave and busters my husband and I have been to. I would definitely go back.

Not what I expected

By torino7788564 |

D&B was not very good on this occasion, place was not busy and it took awhile for our server to arrive. Ordered simple items and did not taste fresh, the tortilla soup was partial warm and the place could use a cleaning. The kids had fun with the games.

Lots of Fun... If you can get past the register

By Journey_Gal70 |

The arcade and dining experience was a lot of fun. Top industry gaming for decent credit per play prices, especially if you go on Wednesday 1/2 off gameplay. The prizes available for purchase via ticket winnings are decent... try to acquire about 5000 to 9000 credits for the quality items (it is possible when two team up). The only sticking point was the lag time at the register. The staff were jovial with each other but failed to really offer dedicated attention to the patrons in line to 'charge' up their power cards for gameplay. Less cutting up from the staff would have made for a more welcoming experience.

Good Food, Slow Service

By jpt153 |

I went on Monday evening after arriving in town and checking into my hotel. I went in hopes of watching some MNF while I ate. The place was practically empty and not busy at all so I was able find a seat pretty quickly, it's a seat yourself place. I didn't have to wait long for the server to come and take my drink order and my food order. Once food arrived it was semi-warm and I can only assume that it didn't come out right away. I didn't send it back as it was still OK for me. Food was still good. Once my food came out I only saw my server once when she asked if everything was ok. After that I never saw her again. I waited almost 20 minutes after I was done eating to even get my check and then it was another 10-15 until she came back to get the check. Overall, a good place, but if service is always that slow, especially when they aren't busy, then I would hesitate to return.

Good fun for everyone

By CVaughanH |

This location was extremely nice with the separate eating area and renting area, even the arcade area is large. The drinks are good and the bartenders are pretty attentive. The selection of games was awesome aside from a good amount of them not working at the time of our visit. The reload card machine has a hard time taking debit cards even the bartender told us so have a credit card ready or have a worker reload your card. Still overall great place to hang out and have a good time.

A bit pricey but great fun

Good selection of games, wish there were some more old school games for us adults. Lettuce wraps appetizer was super good. Philly cheese steak was fantastic. Daughter said it was fun and the chicken fingers were delicious.

Games Out of Order, Rude Waitstaff, Gross Food

By FeenixPhyre |

I will start by saying I LOVE Dave and Busters normally. While visiting San Antonio we decided to have lunch and play some games here to soak up the AC after walking outside in Texas heat all day. The waiter was rude and inattentive, we had to flag people several times to get drink refills, we sat over 20 minutes to have our order taken(only 5 other families there at the time) and then our appetizer came with the rest of the food. When the food arrived, it was cold, bland, and clearly sat for a while. The tzatziki(from the hummus plate) was nothing but water, the fries were cold and soggy, and no one enjoyed or finished the meal. To make matters worse, we had to wait another 20 minutes to find out waiter to pay and leave. Along with that, several games were not working and not marked as out of order, so money was taken off our cards with nothing paying out. It took over 30 minutes to find someone to fix it, who just fixed the game but put nothing back on my card at all. Worst D&B experience ever, and we go to ours in Austin at least every other month. I would not try the San Antonio one again and my whole family agreed we don't even want to go to our local one for a long while after this experience.

Skip it...

By Lennise |

This was a disappointing D&B location. After traveling all day and looking for something at the River Walk to have a nice meal and give the kids some time out from riding, we selected D&B for food and entertainment. Early dinner for 6, including children, and our bill was over $150! Our food, ranging from tacos to burgers (YES - $150) was mostly luke warm or even cold. Another $100+ in games and this was an expensive evening— we found employees at this location to have little interest in their customers, on the up-side, kids enjoyed the games and their ‘wins’ of the evening.

Fun place

By marilynb196 |

Fun place to go but the food is way overpriced! If you like video cames, car rides, etc you'll love the place. Just be prepared to lose your wallet cuz it ain't cheap. The food is so so. Nothing special. Good family fun if you can afford to drop money and not miss it.

Great fun and games, eat before you get there.

By DAVID G |

Family and I had lots of fun here playing the games, but the dining was slow and the food was not that good once we got it, except for my wife's salmon which was pretty good. To clarify the very good rating was for the games mainly.

Best day ever!!

By Brenda H |

First time at Dave and Busterd and I absolutely loved it!! Boneless wings were delicious!! My daughters goldfingers were tasty will definitely go back Had so nuch fun at games as well

Always a fun place to kill time.

By JetSetterRobb |

I'm not really a fan of the food at Dave and Buster's, but it sure is hard to beat when it comes to killing time. We had a few hours to burn while in the downtown area and decided to bring the boys here to have some fun. Thankfully it was half price game day, so we played for twice as long on the $50 that we spent. Always a good time where ever we go.

Good fun.

We took our airmen here for one of their town pass days and they were thrilled. If you're hungry, you'll definitely go home full. We had one tiny mishap with the pay and play while trying to reload it but customer service took care of the problem with quick efficiency.

BEST of the best!!!

By Steve10367 |

we have never been to a Dave and Busters so here we go.....This is a GREAT spot to walk in, get a drink, eat some really good food, and also play some kick A## video games...The games that are available KICK A$$!!!!!!! The VR (virtual reality) games which are abundant in this venue are really cool!!! We kicked A## in the "shoot the zombies game (2 players and you HAVE to work together!!) and ( kicked BUTT in the fly a jet plane complete with throttle and missile/machine gun/controls) kinda made me feel like Tom Cruise back in Top Gun!!!! even got to put my name in the top 20!! Make sure you check all the specials of the day of the week you are going because we missed out on a lot of specials (FREE) but hey...it's still a great place to eat and play-even if you are a :"older kid" :)

Overpriced and overrated

By Emily W |

The food was okay but seriously overpriced- the arcade was meh, looked kind of cool but nothing special, the bathrooms were disgusting. Went with our Airman for Town Pass for BMT graduation- its a way to pass the time but we spent about $65 for 3 people before the tip which isn't terrible but for the price I wish I'd gone somewhere a little better.

Nice place, really friendly staff.

By N_Jarv11 |

Asked the guy on the door if they showed the English Premier League games and he told me to chose a screen and he'd make sure it was on. Very attentive, polite staff and they even brought over a little wireless speaker so that I could listen to the commentary.

After waiting 2hrs for food and having our table stolen

By MissKionna |

We were able to play quite a few fun games, but waiting over two hours for our food was a major turnoff. Then, to top it all off, after we ordered and received our drinks, we left the table to go play some games while waiting on our food; only to come back to find another family sitting at our table, with another waitress taking their order. Then WE were the ones who had to move. I was not happy at all, and if it weren't for the children's sake, I would have left immediately. I would not recommend this location. They seem overcrowded and understaffed. I do not plan to return.

Fast & Efficient Lunch Service in Restaurant BUT Slow Happy Hour Service

By Heather9876 |

I've been to this location 3 times this in the past 4 days! I played video games the 1st night & enjoyed the stress relief & adrenalin rush! Day 3 I had lunch with my boss in the restaurant. The service was fast and efficient and the food was delicious! Day 3 my co-workers and I went for Happy Hour in the Bar area. Our waitress wasn't sure of the Happy Hour times or specials. 🤔 We found a table topper that showed fruity cocktails were 1/2 off and beer and wine were a $1 off. There were about four appetizers at $5 each. It took almost 10 minutes to get our drinks and 15 minutes for our appetizers and one meal. Next time, I will avoid the Bar area; I may sit at the bar close to the bartender!

Great Family Fun & Value

By Louis S |

Great family value. For the price of a movie, you get a nice meal & 2 hours of fun. The atmosphere is colorful, bright & loud. If you have an Autistic child you might want ear protectors, but mine eventually got use to it after we ate 1st. They have daily special's so check website...I like Wednesday, double playtime. Also try giftcardgranny.com for discounted gift cards, saves usually 20-50%.

Family Fun

By Teresa G |

This was our family first visit to a Dave and Buster's and it was great. The kids really enjoyed themselves and the food and drinks were great. The food is a bit pricey but overall this place is great.

Fun times when you need a break from the River Walk

By Brandi T |

Just steps from the River walk, this is a great place to take kids when they need a break from the river and history!

Nice menu

By Confident Charlie |

If you are in to burgers, steak, and beer, go see the interesting combinations at D&B. It had been a while since our last trip to the restaurant and I would say the food is much improved and the San Antonio branch has good management.

Awesome service

By jillebert64 |

While on vacation in San Antonio, we took our son here for his 6th birthday dinner. The service was awesome. They treated our son like a king and gave him lots of extra power cards and a birthday dessert after dinner. Sarah, our server, was fantastic. She provided over-the-top attention to us during our two + hours there.

It is... Dave and Busters

By Kathi W |

This Dave and Busters is just like every other one we have been to. It is loud but, fun. We went on a Wednesday night and there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant. We had our pick of games.

Dave & Busters is just about BUSTED

By keithjones31216 |

So we went to D&B and were kind of disappointed. When we walked in we were told there was a 30-45 minute wait. Wouldn’t have been an issue, but the rest so was 3/4 empty. The host said they were short staffed… Anyways went and played some video games and our table was ready. Sat down to order and everything is done by the app. Well that would be fine if there was decent cell service (I have Verizon). The servers don’t even take your order!! Got the order in and the food was brought out. Food was cold (guessing because they were short staffed). Maybe instead of going all virtual/tech you should properly staff the place.

Expensive but fun

By Cherry Duke |

Food was good. Games are fun but overpriced. We would come again. You can oay extra to add to your tickets for the prizes. There are games for everyone. Large place.

So nice we ate there twice

By Splinky88 |

Not just a restaurant as there’s plenty to do. Great for families. The food is delicious and the wait staff were personable. We had lunch, then after sightseeing we came back for dinner.

Meh, service really slow

By drjekyll |

They probably have too big of a menu for the staff to really know it. We had a large party and more than once, the same item was plated differently to different people at our table. We were able to watch the Blues not quite win the championship and went there more for the TVs than the food.

Nostalgic!

By BHUANG69 |

I have graduated college for at least 20 years and I used to love arcade games. Upon visiting San Antonio my friend and I found this place and I was able to re-live some of my past life! I had fun here.

Fun happy hour

By Rick H |

Always a great place to visit to blow off some steam - fun happy our and great staff! Nicole was fantastic and kept everything light hearted and fun! Menu has some good unique items on it - a different stop in the riverwalk

Good but small

By Troy S |

Took the daughter there for dinner while the wife was shopping in the mall. Food is what I have had in the past at other locations, but this one is very small for the concept. Not as many games as other locations, at least it seemed that way to me.

Awesome burgers/great service.

By Thomas F |

We had a hamburger and onion strings. Both were awesome. Our server, Tasha, was so courteous and attentive. We also got to meet one of the managers, Stephen, who took time out of his busy schedule to ask about our meal and visit with us. Gene took us to our table and got our drinks while Tasha was waiting on other customers. These three people made our lunch there pleasant and enjoyable. These three individuals are an asset to Dave and Buster's but more so to their customers. We would definitely eat there again.

Fun place and Good Food!

By Hanna M |

This is a good place to eat and drink with family and friends. Their food is really good and it is a fun environment!!

Walked out!

By Pookiebeau |

I called this afternoon around 1:00 to speak to a manager about the experience we had just had. Went in around 12 for lunch and no one was around the counter, finally saw a waiter who apologized saying he was the only one working. He got our drinks and appetizer quickly but we waited over 40 mins after that for our food. We noticed a larger group who came in after us got their food, ate their food and even left while we were still waiting on our order. We decided to leave and we left a $20 to pay for the appetizer and drinks. Was told he'd look into what happened and would call me back and I never got a call back from him. Was our first time coming to this location and this was a horrible first impression, not to mention not hearing back from the manager.
