Davenport's Restaurant located at roadside of Venture Blvd. Parking is often a challenge (no valet parking) The restaurant has an elegant setting and well decorated. There’s an outdoor section: chic and stylish. The section we were seated packed with guests. However, their service was quick cordial and very professional. The server we had was superb: warm, friendly and responsive. We family of four here for a celebrated dinner. We ordered: Sashimi (a disappointment); Filet Mignon( well-done); Baby Back Ribs(portion bigger than expected, $29); Beef Rib, about right, $29); Cioppino, superb, yummy $44); Lobster Bites(well-prepared and tasty, $24); Lobster Roll (wonderfully tasty, but need to finish it fast, $24); Banana Cream Pie (dessert, $13) We loved our Sunday night get-to-gather dinner”!

It was a very enjoyable evening for 4 friends who have been celebrating birthdays together for 30 years! Lovely atmosphere, and you can even hear each other talk! Food was very good to excellent, I think meat dishes might be better than sushi dishes. I had the sashimi salad, which was very pretty and fresh but the fish didn’t have much flavor. The dressing was super light (if there was any!) but I spiced it up by asking for soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. My friends who ordered the skirt steak were very pleased, and my friend with the steak salad ate every bite, Delicious bread basket, good cocktails, great service, and validated parking in the back. Definitely would like to come back for some raw oysters, steak and martini!

Love it.... Love it.... Love it! While Davenport's is a great place for business lunches (Wonderful ambiance, comfortable booths and great food! The Davenport's French Dip sandwich rocks!!! The slaw is crisp, the drinks cold and the brownie sundae to die for!!!), dining "Al Fresco" at night is where Davenport's really shines! While "Twinkle Lights" and "superb service" are the "icing," the food is the cake! My personal favorites include: Oak Grilled Artichoke French Onion Soup Tuna Poke Fried Chicken Salad Grilled Salmon Jidori Chicken Breast Short Ribs Brownie Sundae Given how sunny and warm the San Fernando Valley is, there are at least 300 days a year where dinner under the stars makes perfect romantic and culinary sense at Davenport's!

Davenport's is about as good as it gets. Great location, ample parking, Expansive and gorgeous indoor seating and a patio during nice weather. Great food and superb service. We had the artichoke appetizer, albacore sashimi (melts in your mouth), and for main courses the salmon and bone-in ribeye. All amazing. And because there was a birthday in the group, we were treated to an out of this world chocolate brownie sundae. We'll have to go back and try all the sushi rolls and other great things on the menu. And be sure to start with one of their great signature cocktails!

Hard to find as it used to be O'Gradys and then Dupars on Ventura Blvd., in Encino. Parking is behind and you enter from the street into the left side of two parking structures, one a building and the other a lot at street level. At night there is some outside seating with twinkle lights and fire pit. Inside it looked elegant and we were told our private party was the door next to the main one and was a room that sat about 28 people at a long table. Appetizers were passed and then placed along the table and included blackened shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, skewers of tomatoes, basil and cheese and at the table, chicken skewers and quartered artichokes. Also some sushi and ahi tuna with avocado and large chips. Dinners we chose were the filet mignon with Bearnaise sauce and the pasta primavera with fresh veggies in a lovely light sauce. Sides brought out included their brussel sprouts, roasted wedge potatoes, rice, broccolini and tri colored cauliflower. This was after a choice of three salads of which we chose one cesear and one house salad sans cheese and both were excellent. Bread basket were assorted with what may have been corn muffins along with small baguettes of lovely bread. As the food was from the main restaurant's kitchen, I couldn't find one thing that wasn't cooked, seasoned and presented beautifully. Looks like the type of place in the main restaurant you wouldn't wear blue jeans and tee shirts too but maybe nice slacks and shirts or pants, tops or daytime dresses. It may have been our first time eating here, but it won't be our last. I am looking forward to a great meal there on an evening out.

We went to Davenport's to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. The atmosphere was very nice and elegant - low lighting and quiet, white table cloths, etc. This was in contrast to the somewhat casual menu and the TVs over the bar (small identity crisis)? The service was outstanding - very attentive (thanks Morgan)! Our party of 6 all ordered different dishes and no one was disappointed in their meal. The bookends of the meal were the true highlight, tho. I've never been impressed with a bread basket before. This one came with a variety of breads including a spicy cornbread and pretzel bread. The butters included a honey mix and a black sea salt. The desserts were large and really good. We especially liked the baklava cheesecake and the blueberry lemon pie. Definitely enjoyed our visit.

Had the recommended tomahawk pork chop with fruit glaze, mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Everything was cooked and seasoned well with fresh ingredients and excellent service. This is an excellent establishment to enjoy a meal with the family or on a special occasion alone. Well done!

Davenports restaurant is a hit in the space where two previous restaurants didn’t last long. I have been for lunch and dinner. Their salads are delicious and large. Four of us went for dinner and had ribs. Yummy. You won’t leave hungry. The prices are competitive with most upscale dining and you get a lot of bang for your buck. We all took home leftovers and decided sharing would work next time. We were too full to try dessert. Reservations for dinner should be booked well in advance as it is very popular. The decor is great, however it is a bit noisy. We sat in a booth and didn’t have any trouble hearing each other. Can’t wait to return!

First would like to say the atmosphere and general ambiance is very good, they have very good indoor and outdoor seating, owner makes the round and conducts pleasant conversations, food is conditionally good, for example my skirt stake was good but the parmesan wedge potatoes were cold, and totally dehydrated( prepared long time ago). Hence the side dishes ruined a good meal. The waiter on the other hand needed significant training, while serving our wine he kept dripping the wine on the white table covering, served the espresso without a saucer under the cup, no sugar or spoon, my friend asked him for proper setting his response was that "he has not been trained as Barista", the owner came over and said they are busy and they cannot take care of things properly ??? This place has great potential but needs to be managed much better to achieve higher ratings

Came here prior to dinner to have a few drinks. The vibe is old school but classy. Place is on the expensive side but I'd absolutely go back for another round.

Fri, July 27: First time for myself, my wife (celebrating our anniversary) and my brother-in-law and his wife. Friday was a really happening day. Looking around, all I saw were happy faces, and especially at our table from start to finish. Shannon waited on us perfectly, and it was a nice touch being greeted by the owner at the start and again at the end. Beautiful inside and out. Many people suggest that you should hold out for the outdoor setting, which is beautiful, but don't get the impression that the inside is lacking in any way. Had the house salad, split between my wife and myself, perfect portion. Martinis, Old Fashioned were done as good as it gets. The pork chops and sea bass were done perfectly, and the portions are huge. And it is easy to substitute sides if you prefer other items than the ones that come with the meal. Next time, and there WILL be a next time, I'll try the lobster bites and a few other fascinating items. Parking was plentiful in the back of the restaurant. I'm very happy to give the 5-star rating. The restaurant business is so hard, it's gratifying to see one so well done with all the details executed perfectly. Glad to support with a great review. Already planning the next visit.

I met some people here for an early dinner. I had never heard of the place and for good reason. It has only been open 3 weeks. It is a classic restaurant with a raw bar and a cocktail bar. Dining room is small but there is a great outdoor patio. Service was a bit confused at first but soon became well oiled. The crowd is a typical Valley crowd. Menu seems well thought out. Will be going back to check out more items. Cocktails good.. wine list ok.

Davenports opened a few years ago on Ventura Blvd. in Encino, CA. They do have parking in the back and an area where one might be seated outdoors if you wish. The outdoors area is quite beautiful featuring strings of lights and outdoor fire pillars. We sat inside and one is quickly taken with the lively atmosphere inside. In your first steps you might see the raw bar where raw oysters are served. Going in further there is another bar where you might also be served food. We reserved a table for six (reservations are STRONGLY recommended) and immediately ordered the signature dish here, lobster bites. This is a yummy concoction served on a tray with small cups in which are placed morsels of lobster smothered in a broiled cheese. Not to be missed. Someone ordered filet mignon steak salad, and one in our party ordered sliders. My kids ordered mac n cheese with lobster (per request) and I had a jumbo shrimp cocktail. Everything is delicious. You can't go wrong here - there is something for everyone on the menu. Again, it behooves you to call in advance for reservations or go online to Open Table, accessible on the restaurant web site.

The food and service is abominable and if you go there you will be ripped off. We ordered skirt steak medium rare and it cam well done and they refused to do anything about it and they seated us in the worst table in the place.

This is a lovely place, darkly lit, with very decent food. There's an outside patio that's well insulated from traffic and full of atmosphere. The fish was great. So is the pretzel bread.

So happy to visit this new restaurant in the former DuPar’s space. Artichoke appetizer to start, entrees sampled were salmon, pork chop and filet minion. All were prepared to perfection, quite tasty and not overly seasoned. Another interesting option is the sushi bar, if you are looking for something different. Mr. Davenport introduced himself during our meal, thanking us for the visit and son Nigel, the chef also greeted us. Overall, I would highly recommend and be sure to have a reservation.

When you walk into the restaurant you notice that it has a certain "class". The service is top notch. Food was very good; not 5-star good, but close. The prices are also not 5-star, which means very fair for what you get. Parking is a bit funky but not impossible to figure out. The big downside of the restaurant is that there is a very busy bar, which makes the restaurant very loud, sometimes too loud to have a conversation. They seem to have outside seating which looked to be quiet. Overall a worthwhile place; we would return.

Excellent and delicious food. Wonderful environment and atmosphere. Servixe was first rate. Everyone was attentive and efficient

We had a very nice dinner outside in what appears to be an office park. The setting is very elegant and cozy however with its use of outdoor fireplaces and lighting. Service was excellent and so was our food. It is a very nice place to go when celebrating a special occasion.

Went to Davenports for the first time last Wednesday eve at 7pm- 4 of us. It was full at 7pm which is a good sign. The decor is great, the bar stools are so big and comfy you could live in them. The service at the bar was fast and friendly. The beer was ice cold and just the way it should be! The layout is very modern and there is a good energy in the room. The chef/ owner came to our table to introduce himself, and welcome us- which i thought was a very nice touch. Service is stable and no issues on the night. The staff seem well educated on the mission for the restaurant and handle guests with ease and polite conversation. Our food was very good- none of us experienced a wow factor. Considering the prices- which are not outrageous, its definitely promoting itself as a chef driven place- and although the food was tasty and delicious- we all felt a little exposed when the bill came. With a few drinks its a $100 a head night out- which i dont mind once i feel than i got the extra lavish that should come with it. we will go back for sure to try it all again. we enjoyed the atmosphere and the mood of the place. Nice to have a new local place to go to for those special nights out. Well done to all concerned

Beautiful restaurant, nice ambiance, easy parking in the back. Service friendly and very accommodating. Started with the shrimp cocktail and California artichoke. For our main dishes, we had the sea bass, salmon, grilled chicken salad and an Impossible burger. Everything was very good. Definitely coming back.

There were six of us. We each had different dishes. The lobster bites were really great. The Havarti cheese was perfect. I ordered yellow tail belly sashimi. It was very fresh and was sur Pringle good for a non sushi place. I was a little disappointed in the over cooking of my filet mignon. They were very gracious about taking care of it. They even comped the desert. The pork dish was enjoyed and did look good. The service was very good. Very attentive and caring. I look forward to returning and trying lots of other dishes.

You know, I have lived in the Valley for over 25 years. I know all the good places. And plenty of the bad places. First some good points. Sculpin is on the beer menu! A+ Nice accommodations outside, beautiful oak tree. A+ Clean and new A+ Food...wow...don't order the french dip. Bread soggy. Sauce tasteless. Prime rib fatty and RAW. I ordered it medium...that means cooked. The salmon appetizer. Really, the waffle was tastless...like eating nothing. Salmon sub par, like out of a package at walmart. Look, the price was pretty reasonable, but I won't be back. The need to lose the french dip!

Dined here late September and again early November. Both times the service was awful. After the first bad experience, we agreed to give it another try. That was a mistake. After being seated, waited 20 minutes for waiter to come to table and take drink orders. Four drinks were delivered 30 minutes later. Another 20 minutes before he returned to take dinner orders. When meals finally arrived, one order was incorrect. It took the waiter 30 minutes to return with the correct order.

Finding a place where parking isn’t a worry is a luxury in LA. For that, Davenport’s hit a good note. Parking was simple and available. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and readily available for our needs. The food was pretty good, but not exceptional. The sautéed spinach was undercooked the night we dined there. The pork chop is huge. You will not leave hungry! Pricing is about what you’d expect for LA.

My wife and I went there because the menu was fabulous. Well written, diverse and interesting. The food was another story. There was nothing wrong with the meal, but there was not one aspect that was close to outstanding. My appetizer, burrata and tomatoes was somewhat flavorless. My entree was not memorable. When the highlight of the meal was dessert (chocolate brownie sundae), I knew something was wrong. Will I go back and give it a second chance? Maybe, but not for a while.

Restaurant completely empty but because I feel like we looked a little different they claimed there were no tables and wanted to sit us in the back, outside. Hostess, Fatima, was not inviting and didn't smile once. Almost as if we were bothering her. I've traveled the WORLD and never felt that disrespected. The lady walking us to our table was super cute, friendly and the smile never left her face. She should be the one greeting people versus Fatima.

This is an alternative to the more expensive steakhouses, and it did not disappoint. They have plenty of parking, but it is a bit confusing to figure out. But once you find the door you are amazed. The restaurant is modern but also classy, with just enough lighting to give it a nice feel. Your table is private and service was great. The food was surprisingly good and, while not cheap, certainly not overpriced. Everything we tasted was delicious. A good place for couples and special occasions.

We enjoyed our candlelit dinner at Davenport's very much. The good steaks served as ordered, and preceded by large and tasty salads. The selection of California wines is extensive.

We’ve waited for a restaurant to open in the Valley that offered comparable cuisine and service to the many fine places we drove “over the hill” for in L.A. and finally we have Davenport’s! The setting on the outside patio was incredible on a warm Valley night. Our server Morgan was very professional and accommodating. The sea bass main dish, burrata beet salad and trout pate appetizer were top quality at fair prices and the desserts were unique and delicious. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Free parking in the back and free corkage on your first bottle of wine are unbeatable anywhere. Davenport, father and son, you have done a high end resto right... in the Valley...finally!

Atmosphere is top notch. Dark, cozy, and romantic. Areas good for large groups as well. The food is EXCELLENT. Best steakhouse I have been to in LA. The quality of the food was better than Ruth's Crhis, Flemmings, etc. Lobster bite appetizer was to die for. Homemade bread is amazing. My wife had chilean sea bass that was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. 1/2 dozen delicious fresh oysters with great cocktails as well! Our server was Cody and he was fun, attentive, and knowledgeable. He did a great job!

My family and I had a very disappointing experience at Davenport's last night. I'll start by saying this is my father's favorite restaurant and he asks to go to Davenport's every year on his birthday, as well as other times during the year. He and my mother have been regular patrons for as long as I can remember. Last night we were celebrating his 87th birthday and he specifically asked for the wine room because he is has significant loss of hearing and told me it was always very quiet. Not anymore! Atmosphere: There was a party of 15+ people who were uncomfortably loud. This made other people at other tables speak louder as well. There was an caustic laugher every few minutes at one table and so on. I had to physically plug my ears during the entire dinner and even then I could clearly hear full conversations from every other table. I have terrible tinnitus and can't be exposed to high decibels or it gets worse. Once it's worse, it never gets better and sounds like a high pitched drill in my ear 24/7. Today, even through ear plugging for 2 hours, my tinnitus is significantly worse and my ear aches. I explained this to the wait staff who apologized but offered no solution. Even the owner looked at me quizzically but didn't check in or offer a solution. My decibel meter recorded the sound jumping between 90 and 100 decibels, just 10 decibels shy of a rock concert and 15 decibels over hearing damage (which is above 85). The Food: The food was incredibly disappointing. I have been to Davenports several times before and the food was quite good, however this was my first time as a vegan. Almost every high-end restaurant I have been to as a vegan has had amazing options, not Davenports. They had one vegan option on the menu and it was just okay. Pasta with red sauce and impossible burger meat for almost $40. I really expected more, from the options and the dish itself. My mother couldn't even finish her lobster roll (without the roll) because she didn't like it and she's not a picky eater. For a meal that costs several hundred dollars for 3 people, I expect better. And to top off the night, we had to leave early because of the excessive noise, and they didn't bring his birthday cake. We would have left even earlier but I had a very hard time getting a staff person's attention. I wish I didn't have to write this negative review but it's important for anyone with hearing sensitivity, or tinnitus as well as vegans and vegetarians to know what they will and won't find at Davenports. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because my father liked his short ribs and the staff and servers were extremely nice and incredibly hard workers.

My friend and I had dinner last evening at Davenports...we both ordered baby back ribs...one of my favorite dishes. These were some of the best I have ever eaten...they were so meaty that I could only eat 3...and we each had a full rack with shoestring potatoes and coleslaw. They also served the most delicious corn muffins...good enough to be dessert. The restaurant was packed, service was fabulous and in my opinion not overpriced for what you get.

A great patio, exceptional décor, comfortable seating, not overly noisy.....all the physical ingredients for a great dining experience......BUT, the food we had last night was quite average. My wife and I shared one glass of Sauvignon Blanc, Caesar Salad (extremely poor....even soggy croutons), French Fries (very good) and Beef Chili (a lot of broth, mediocre taste, I prefer the meat ground). Price was right, but we didn't eat much....$52.00 including tip. The other couple we were with had two cocktails (prepared well), one salad with broiled chicken (she said it was good), one vegetable stew (very good) and one sashimi plate (mediocre). Banana cream pie was fairly good with a good crust. I don't know what their cost was, but it was relatively high. The service was disjointed....too many people servicing the table and not well trained. The host was exceptionally nice and tried to accommodate our needs as did the primary server. I think they have great potential. Their menu might be too varied (large) in order to provide a good product. The place is jammed....it's new.....but they need a bit of improvement in order to reach their potential.....Encino patrons wants a prime restaurant and this could be it if they get the kinks out..

This relatively new restaurant/bar/oyster bar may be better suited to an evening visit, when I’m sure it’s even more lively than at lunchtime. The service was spotty, although the young staff were well intentioned and very friendly and accommodating. The lunch menu included appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. (The day I was there, no soup was on the appetizer menu.) The food is slightly pricey, although not exorbitantly so; my French dip sandwich was $18 and OK; cioppino, which was offered under entrees, was $32. The wine list is ample; the lowest price per glass is $12. The decor was attractive, although there are a couple of different levels, requiring navigation of stairs. There is ample parking and, with validation, is free for two hours.

Amazingly shaky service. Not that they were rude, just not competent. Peas, two separate orders, brought with no spoon for serving. Numerous requests, meaning way more than one request, for little things that were forgotten or ignored like bringing some lemon for the water, lighting the heater near the table, soy sauce for the roll, etc, etc. Average taste. Nice presentation, but limited savor. My spicy tuna was attractive without flavor. Read a mid-July review with similar results. So it is a returning feature to this venue. Yet some like it. We'll leave them to it. Can't imagine a scenario where we would return.

Multiple visits , always very good. Fine dining in an suburban area that doesnt have an abundance of fine dining options. Service staff is attentive. Wine list quite extensive. All dishes we have tried have been very good to great. The outdoor patio has a nicer vibe than most even though its actually on Ventura Blvd. Trees, lights and plants give it a nice touch. Well done. Dog friendly too. Indoors is more elegant but same menu.

We were delighted to find this excellent new restaurant in the Valley. Outstanding raw bar, sushi, sashimi, and other great menu choices. Good bar scene and great cocktails (highly recommend the Mezcal old fashioned) and lovely patio dining under lighted trees, sheltered from Ventura Blvd traffic. Service was welcoming, including the owner ensuring our satisfaction with the meals and atmosphere.

Went for first time on a Friday night in Encino. Was able to park in rear of restaurant and go in between buildings. They have a nice patio outside of restaurant that looked like a hot area butiut was too hot for us outside. We sat in their private reserved area for parties as it was open and filled for Friday night reservations. The owner Mr. Davenport came over and gave our anniversary couple a sparkling wine comp. It was of been nice if he brought 4 for the table but it was a very nice gesture nonetheless. He also comped us later on a banana cream pie that was good which was also very kind for our first visit. He was nice and spent some time talking to us at the table and checking on us to see if we lied everything. Loved our server Shannon as she was nice and attentive to our needs. Drinks were great, Martinis were large and Makers old fashioned was made by a very good bartender. Were not cheap at $15-$17 range but were well made. Loved the split Burratta beet salad which was split large which I loved. I ordered the baby back ribs at $22 and there were a lot of ribs and they were tender and you get two sides with it. The cole slaw was delicious as well as the potatoes. French dip was not great as meat was too rare and fatty but not bad enough to return as some people like their meat like that. Seabass looked good as well as a beauty of a Pork chop. I would go back and most likely will as we enjoyed our dining experience here. Restaurant was full so reservations are a must it appears and owner personal and is very on top of things and we liked meeting him.

The food is very good, served hot by an attentive staff, with many selections to choose from. The one negative, and it has repeated itself on many occasions is the reservations. Do make a reservation online...it is the best way to do it, either on tripadvisor or open table. But my hangup is that we walked in to a virtually empty eaterery, and they gave us grief because we did not have a reservation. They should be more interested in turning an extra diner rather than being prissy. But once you are seated, I think this is a great choice for lunch or dinner.

Davenport's is a beautiful restaurant. They have a raw seafood / sushi bar. There is a beautiful private dining room that seats 40 or so and it is private, with its own entrance and small bar. They have two dining rooms and a great fully stocked bar. They have some great specialty cocktails as well and a respectable wine list for a newly opened restaurant. The bar seats are a little heavy and hard to maneuver, but very comfortable once you get in them! They also have an outside dining patio. I've been there twice. The Sea Bass sushi roll was excellent. The Kale, Spinach and Artichoke dip as a starter is very tasty, but 6 tortilla chips?? I didn't understand this! I ordered the lobster roll on my second visit. Its almost a classic New England Lobster Roll - the butter poached lobster was plentiful for the price, but the toasted roll was very dry; an easy fix if they butter the toasted roll,as the only other fixings are lettuce and scallions and delicious perfectly fried french fries! The cavatappi and six cheeses (mac n cheese) was bland for my taste, especially with six cheeses. The baklava cheesecake is a must have if you like baklava and cheesecake. Keep in mind that the place has been open a week and they are working out the kinks. Hopefully they will make a few changes, like including bread of some kind with the chili soup, which was also amazingly tasty! I'll definitely go back and i hope the management is reading reviews!

This is one of my favorite new lunch spots for business in the valley as well as for drinks. The service is solid and I love the touch how the owner walks around to make you feel welcomed. The apps and sushi were quite tasty. Lots of options to sit inside or outside. Look out Larsen’s there is a new kid on Ventura Blvd.

My husband and I decided to try Davenport's because two different friends had told us how good it is. Although Fleming's in Pasadena, CA is our usual go to restaurant, we decided to try Davenport's this past Saturday, 8/4th. We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation thinking we'd wait in the bar, but the hostess said that she could seat us right away. So we went to our table. Our server's name is Cody. He was very professional, attentive and had a warm personality. We ordered some drinks and then came the bread basket. It has 3 different pieces of bread: a small pretzel stick, but soft like bread, a small cornbread and a roll with black salt (not sure) on top. My husband had the cornbread and I ate the roll with the black salt on top. This bread was so soft and delicious! We could have just eaten baskets of bread for the evening! They bake it fresh right there. Great job! Then we ordered the Lobster Bites ... so much goodness, absolutely scrumptious! It comes with a fresh backed piece of Sourdough bread to soak up the juice. Ask for 2. It's that good. Order them, you won't be disappointed! We shared a Caesar Salad. It was good, but so boring compared to the flavors of everything else we got. Next I ordered one of the specials: a Mediterranean Sea Bass that came with rice pilaf and sugar snap peas. So mouth watering ... delicious flavors. My husband ordered the Filet cooked medium rare. It came with sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes. Melted in your mouth. Really incredible. For dessert we ordered the Banana Cream Pie. Oh my gosh, so much goodness! We had a terrific night with amazing food! We waddled out of there extremely full and very happy we found our new go to restaurant. We will be back over and over again! Thank you Davenport's for a fantastic night!

You can hear your conversation, no blaring music, loved it. Service was stellar, staff was so friendly. I did a bit of exploring to see what other areas were in the place and the hostess let me know there was an outdoor patio. Food was amazing. We had the lobster bites, smoked trout spread and oysters Rockefeller. Birthday boy ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, out of this world, I had the halibut which was great as well. We will be back. Awesome atmosphere and a great place to sit and watch the game as well. Free parking on street on Sundays.

Short on time, I stopped at Davenport’s. I ordered the Chopped Salad Wedge. It was delicious, along the great service by Allison.

We started the birthday celebration dinner with oysters, raw and Rockefeller style. Our dinner party liked both but especially liked the Rockefeller style the best! My wife, son and daughter-law all had steaks and enjoyed their selection. I had the sea bass and found it to be excellent. For dessert, we recommend the banana foster, it was great.

First off there is a Mr. Davenport who visits diners to make sure all is well. Atmosphere inside and out is worth the wait for a reservation. Takes about a week, at the moment. Main dining room and bar can be a bit noisy but the private dining room is perfect is you like to converse with those you are dining with. Take your time with the menu which is impressive. The lobster bits starter was bliss. Use the bread to soak up the sauce; the Dover sole was perfect and the banana pie dessert in a graham cracker chocolate crust was a throw caution to the winds event.

An extremely enjoyable experience. Davenport’s is an upscale restaurant who’s ambience reflects both good taste and elegance. Dark paneling, copper-sheathed ceilings, warm, comfortable surroundings. It was a pleasure to visit. The menu is varied, the drink list extensive, and the prices, reasonable for a restaurant of its class. We were pleased to discover that the portions are larger than restaurants of similar ilk, a welcome exception. Our only complaint was that the wait staff was a bit slow. While water glasses were filled promptly, requests for drinks, breads and butter refills took an inordinate amount of time. That is why we downgraded the “star rating”. But there were no complaints about the quality of the food. Steaks melted in your mouth. Vegetables were done to a turn. The appetizers were to die for. This is definitely a “keeper”!

Great variety if superb food from Suschi, Sashimi to Steaks and Chops with everything in between..Their service truly pampers the customers and its hip setting adds to the fun!

I took my two teenaged kids to this restaurant to celebrate my son's 16th birthday. We got a reservation at 8:45 pm at the last minute. The restaurant is very crowded and very festive. We were seated indoors although there is a gorgeous patio outdoor seating area. If you prefer that it behooves you to request this when making your reservation. This restaurant can accommodate large parties and it is just the place for a celebration. People were dressed casually - some in shorts and t shirts - and others were dressed up more elegantly. It's that kind of place. Anything goes. My daughter ordered the baby back ribs which were served with fries and slaw, son ordered mac and cheese. I ordered the house salad (delicious and not to be under estimated). But the piece de resistance is the signature dish - lobster bites - which are served on a small wrought iron pan with small cups forged into it - each filled with delicious chunks of lobster smothered in a bubbling cheese sauce. We devoured that, competing for the last bits of lobster and sauce. Even the bread basket is wonderful filled with an assortment of corn bread mini muffins, pretzel bread, and other breads, and served with honey butter and another kind of salty butter. One can order an iced cold beer or any number of wine selections here which are listed on the menu. We loved it and will definitely return. PS I'm not sure if this is the sort of place one would want to bring a stroller - there are waiters rushing about in narrow aisle ways - and the noise and activity level might be a bit much for a baby - it's better for grown up kids.

Overall, the review is a result of our choices in ordering per our friends. There were so many great seafood choices but we were encouraged to order the rib eye steak. We started with a beet burrata salad and Caesar salad, the tomatoes were tasteless but the beets and burrata were good. The Caesar was very good, but simple. We tried the lobster bite appetizer but the cheese and garlic overpowered the lobster taste. It was tasty but the lobster flavor was lost. The bone in rib eye was very disappointing. It was very tough and there was not one bite that didn’t have some gristle or was as tender as a Costco rib eye. We would definitely like to go back and eat the seafood that Davenport’s features.

This is our second dinner here with a group of six people. It's a nice looking restaurant and the food has generally been very good. They seem to have a major problem with service, either they are understaffed or don't train their staff. We were promptly seated, and then waited 10-15 minutes for a waiter to show up, 10 minutes more for our drinks, then we placed our orders and didn't see our waiter until our food showed up after a long wait. We ordered a bottle of wine that didn't show up until the meal was almost over. When we asked to see the manager, they were prompt to apologize and comp us the bottle of wine, but I'm not sure that we'll try this one again. Our first experience also had some service and food availability issues. Hopefully the management will pay attention and either get more or better staff to provide good service. There are too many good restaurants out there to put up with bad service.

The atmosphere is wonderful, a bit dark in the right way. The menu is nice, but the food was just average, nothing special. One dish was overcooked and another was very bland. Prices are reasonable for what you get and there is ample free parking.
Some of the best fish ever.
Excellent food and service. A lovely evening where we could carry on a nice conversation over great food. We will definitely return.
