My daughter and I had heard positive reviews on the Trey Ware radio show on the restaurant Praise or Zing segment. So I thought we would go try it out. Upon arrival we were met at the door and told to sit anywhere and our server would be with us shortly. We sat down and our server took our drink order. We ordered sweet tea and a water, when she returned with our drinks we ordered our meal. The first thing I did was try the BBQ sauce on its own. It tasted like doctored up ketchup with an emphasis on ketchup. I thought uh-oh. We ordered the 3 meat plate and 1 sausage link ( 2 portions of brisket and 1 portion of Baby back ribs) with creamed corn and green beans as the 2 sides. We were going to share the plate between the two of us. Our order arrived without a 2nd plate, 1 slice of bread, about 6 pickle slices and about the same amount of onion. We had to ask for more condiments and bread. The server brought one more piece of bread and 3 pickles and 3 rings of onion. We told the server we were going to share the plate we ordered. the creamed corn was OK, and my daughter approved of the taste. Her palette is pretty sophisticated. The green beans were tolerable but overcooked and squishy. The brisket was appealing to the eye and the marbling to meat ration was good. The fat on the brisket was rendered properly and had a nice chew. The brisket itself was flavorless and overcooked as if it had been wrapped in foil and set aside which tends continue cook and steam the meat which turns it into pot roast. The baby back ribs were inedible after one bite. The flavor was unmistakable similar to having sprayed bug spray on them with no seasoning or rub detected. I tried to cover up the bug spray taste with "BBQ" sauce but the insecticide taste overpowered the sauce. I attribute the taste to the wrong wood or combination of woods being used. My daughter said the same thing about the rib and could only eat one bite. Needless to say, one bite of rib and about 3 bites of brisket does not a meal make. The sweet tea was good. As we paid (20 plus dollars) I asked the person who rang our order up what type of wood was used to smoke everything. He responded " Oak and Mesquite together". Just as I thought the wood. Needless to say we won;t be returning for a second time.

I have yet to get anything that I don't like here. I can tell you that everything I have personally tasted: brisket, ribs, chicken, turkey, potato salad, baked potato salad, sweet potato casserole and green beans....is amazing! If you are lucky enough to catch the musicians you'll have dinner and a show. This is a must try!

The lady t is very rude. Never going to come back. The food is decent but it is not worth the attitude

DeeWillie’s is absolutely PHENOMENAL! They are so much better than...well I’m not gonna even name their competitors because they don’t even matter! This food is THE BEST BBQ I’ve had and that’s no exaggeration! Make sure to get the ribs and you better not leave without trying the Mac-n-Cheese. I’m not gonna lie, a 2 meat combo plate can be pricey at about $15-16 but you absolutely get what you pay for. Fall off the bone ribs...the sweet potato cobbler(I think that’s what it’s called) Brisket, just everything is so sooo good. So thankful they are expanding! Let’s run BM and their disgusting precooked food out of San Antonio and replace them ALL with Deewillies! Last but certainly not least, the service is wonderful and I love the way everyone is greeted upon entering/exiting this establishment! Good job guys and I’m a life long customer!

I placed an online order as the dining room is not open. Overall good, but not great. The smoked turkey was the best thing on my two-meat combo. Very moist with a good smoky flavor. Ranked among the best I have had. Brisket had a nice smoke flavor but was too dry, Bark only appears on the fatty side and it's really thin. Green beans were fair at best with little flavor beyond the taste of canned green beans. Bill Miller's has better green beans. The creamed corn was good. Better than Rudy's. Service was a little odd. Sign outside said come on in. I did and the staff seemed shocked to see I walked in. There was some sort of stage where there were lots of orders. The masked stranger told me where to stand and fetched my order.

Spouse saw this bbq restaurant on a local show so we researched locations. Discovered one less than five miles away so off we went. While atmosphere and such is well done, I'm more interested in the food--and it was great.

The BBQ was prepared to perfection. It was tastefully seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent.

My Mom and I really enjoyed Dee Willie's we love both TX and MO BBQ and at this eatery we found both in our assessment. Keep up the good work and hold on to that level of product consistency.

Great BBQ and the staff is great. We had the brisket, very moist, ribs, meaty and fall off the bone tender, sausage was spiced nice. Sides we had the potato salad and the sweet potato casserole which were great. Not an upscale place but I came to eat BBQ, it was very clean and yet quaint. They have bands a couple of time a week and you need to call for reservations. Nothing is over smoked just a nice gentle taste, BBQ sauce was good if you need it, I prefer mine with a small drizzle.

This place was so good! First time we had the 3 meat platter. The cheddar jalapeño sausage was fantastic, the ribs were excellent, the brisket was good! I had the cream corn and sweet potato as the sides. Both excellent. This place was so good we came back to try Ro the Dino rib that did not disappoint. Huge piece of meat, couldn’t even finish it. Staff was friendly and attentive. Excellent BBQ spot, some of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend.

Not a bad thing on the menu! Awesome service and a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back again and again!

Restaurant was recommended a few times and I finally tried it yesterday. Amazing customization service and my food was ready pretty quick and was fresh. Had a two meat place of chicken and brisket with a side of Mac & cheese/potato salad and theirs nothing negative to say about the mela. Generous portion for the price and the pecan cobbler hit the spot. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

I had the most friendly and amazing service in this place last Saturday! I got the Dino rib with two sides and a Big Red. Baked potato salad great and everyone get the Green Beans!! Waitress was awesome and the food was amazing!! Had no problem leaving her an amazing tip.

I’d give 5 stars if they had cole slaw ,who ever heard of a BBG restaurant without cold refreshing cole slaw?I noticed the servings have gotten smaller also.

Location on 87e Bbq was ok just average and the sides I could not eat. I have a gluten allergy and asked for no bread because of this, my god shows up with bread and he uses his hand and pulls the bread off the plate when it is in front of me, not acceptable for celiac. Potato salad was not right , sorry but, all they way bad.

Fantastic service, quick food, immediate seating, live music, and the BBQ is fantastic. All the sides we're great. Mac and cheese, beans, sweet potato casserole, and the brisket, sausage and ribs are the star of the show. The BBQ sauce is sweet, you get brought bread, pickles, onions. This place is my go to right now. I would have a picture but I cleaned my plate before I realized I should have taken a picture!

Great service with good BBQ. Brisket & turkey better than baby back ribs. Don’t miss the sweet potato casserole....excellent. We plan to return on a Thursday evening (6:30-8:30) for their LasVegas style show & dinner. Nothing fancy and reasonably priced.

After hearing so much about this place from friends, my husband and I were a little disappointed with the food when we finally got around to going there for take out. The food was OK but the puny side portions were ridiculous. There seemed to be one scoop of potato salad and one scoop of beans on our plates. The meat was a little more plentiful (we had brisket, sausages and turkey) and enough for leftovers but had to get new sides to go with the meat. The meats we had were OK and the potato salad and beans were OK but this won't be the place I brag about to friends.

This restaurant is pleasant with good, friendly service. Barbeque is pretty good, not overly seasoned as so many places. The sides we tried were good, particularly the baked potato salad. Definitely worth a trip.

Everything here is fantastic! The Ribs are to die for! Great portions, good service, you cannot go wrong with this place

My mother-in-law lives near there and noticed this place opened up recently. Went there for lunch. Smokehouse in front of the restaurant! The decor is nicely rustic. The bar stool height tables are in the shape of Texas. Horse paintings and other decor on every wall. Nice bathrooms. Barn doors wall off a smaller room with a full bar, two pool tables and a digital jukebox. The bar looks like a place that'd be open after 9p, so not sure if it has different hours. Simple, one page menu: brisket, sausage, turkey, baby back ribs, and (I think?) pulled pork. One, two or three meat plates with two sides, family size meals, a la carte sandwiches, five sides - green beans, potato salad, baked potato salad, beans, creamed corn. Great prices - sandwiches start at $5. I think the One Meat Plate was $8.99 or $9.99, the Two Meat Plate was only $10.99! Sides are only $1.95. 32 oz drinks $2.50. Two of us got the turkey sandwich. Big, buttered and grilled bun. Turkey was moist. Free jalapenos upon request. I got the two meat plate, brisket and ribs. Two thick slices of brisket that was falling apart tender. Four ribs, tasty and tender. To me, the potato salad seemed store bought, but it was good. The creamed corn was yummy. I wanted to compare against Rudy's, which is super good but sweet. Dee Willie's creamed corn isn't sweet, but really creamy, buttery and good. I could've eaten a huge bowl of it! Also tasted the green beans, stewed with tomatoes. The baked beans had tons of bacon chunks and bits in it. (So the only side we didn't try was the baked potato salad.) Their BBQ will give the competition a run for their money. Rudy's and Bill Who? EXCELLENT BBQ, excellent prices, nice atmosphere. Please go and help this new restaurant take off!

I went in to place an order for me and my wife.. my wife can't have gluten.. I asked is the bbq, and anything else gluten free? I was told brisket, chicken, sausage, green beans and beans are... I asked if they could find out if the potato salad, and baked potato salad was gluten free.. the server asked ,and came back told me it was.. SO we had to get green beans, and beans.. Long story short.. after they knew I needed gluten free items, and paid almost $50 we get home and they have bread on the food.. so my wife can't eat... I was so upset.. These establishments need to educate themselves on glutenfree, and just how dangerous it is not to know!! Need someone there to educate the people putting food and orders together to know this.. very important!!

I can't even begin where to start as to how BAD this place is. I was highly upset with Texas Eats and my friend who recommend this place. This place needs to realize that we work to hard to pay for such garbage. First off, I was talked in getting the all you can eat for 27 instead of the three meat which was 21 thinking why not its few bucks more and ALL I Can Eat, so I was lead to believe. I ordered the ribs, brisket and sausage with the three sides to start (Mac and Cheese, Potato Salad and Cream of Corn). I received a small portion of ribs a few sliced sausages (not link) and a few thinly sliced Brisket. At first glanced it looked decent yet not to what I'm used to but seeing it was highly recommended lets dig in. I ate the ribs, it was ok yet the sausage was not good and the brisket was fatty and dry. I drowned it in bbq sauce making a sandwich to at least make it edible but again that didn't help. The person I was with said order the brisket again maybe it was the cut so I did to receive huge chunks of more dry meat. Crazy. Meanwhile, the server asked if everything was ok and of course didn't want to be rude just asked for ribs and she came back stating they are out of ribs (problem number 1) so I asked to get the turkey, she came back again stating they are all out. So I asked how could I be charged for an all you can eat special if you don't have what i want or I would have just ordered the three meat plate and saved myself the extra money I was being charged. She just shrugged off my comment as suggest I order the spicy sausage or pulled pork and or chicken. I should have just walked out but I'm like "let ride it out" mentality. I can 100 percent tell you the chicken was not grilled and the pull pork was absolutely horrific. You should not have to use that much bbq sauce to make it taste better. The Mac and Cheese, cmon who are you kidding while I have to say the potato salad was not bad and the cream of corn was ok at best. Over all Dee Willie's should change it slogan from "It's stupid good" to "it's stupid to spending your hard working money on this." Seriously folks the only thing good was that the server was nice and honest while being apologetic yet having to pay for an all you can eat was in such poor taste, no pun intended or maybe yes it was. Dee Willie's and Texas Eat's you should be ashamed of yourself for having us believe in to your utter lies wasting my hard earned money on this absolutely horrible meal. Thanks for nothing.

Went to Dee Willie's last weekend; 12:00 on a Saturday. Not what I expected. A BBQ joint where you actually sit down, and someone comes to wait on you. Ordered the 3 meat plate (12.99), so I could taste the brisket, sausage, and chicken. Was not disappointed. Brisket that was juicy and lean, sausage with a little kick, and chicken moist and flavorful. Service was excellent, atmosphere very nice, and the place reminds me of a quaint country restaurant. They also cater if you're interested. Will definitely revisit this place.

Have been here about ten times in last two years, the BBQ has always been great, the ribs, brisket and turkey have been super, now I’ll add the pulled pork too, super moist and flavorful. My wife loves the huge baked potato with brisket. The wait staff has been excellent each visit. Definitely go here.

Four of us ordered various menu items and were pleasantly surprised by the quality since we had never visited before. A nice find on a cold night.

I thought I finally found a good place to eat BBQ ....the first time we went it was really good.Since it was down from my house we went back and it was not so good. The ribs were tough, brisket had no flavor and fatty. I thought maybe it was just a bad day,and we gave it another try,and believed me third time was not charmed!!! Needless,to say we have not gone back......consistency is the word. If it's not consistent I don't go back.I just wished there was a good BBQ joint here.

The BBQ I ordered was full of fat, and ends were burnt. Also the waitress I had would not refill my cup of water when I asked for it. Her excuse was they are about to close and have poured the water out. I disagree as the customer service should come first. I went ahead and gave them only a $1 tip due to this.

We had the brisket, turkey, beans, potato salad and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious and this would be a regular for us if we lived here.

I've read reviews on this place so decided to stop by Friday night after a long day of work to pick up a plate of BBQ. I've been trying different BBQ Restaurants, trying to find one that I really like and can go back to when I have a bbq craving. When I got home I sat down to eat my brisket and ribs plate. I did tell the order taker that I wanted moist bbq and asked if the ribs are really tender, fall off the bone type? She said yes. I first noticed that my brisket was very lean. Then I took a bite of the rib and it was tough, no where near fall of the bone type of rib. I decided not to eat the food and heated up a frozen pot pie. So, yes, I was very disappointed.

First time trying this BBQ place and got to love the decor. It has tables in shape of Texas and good service. Got to try the three meat plate, the chicken, brisket and sausage plate is good. The staff is friendly and great.

Great atmosphere and great BBQ. They have a stage for bands and a bar or club next door. Very nice people and the lady who checked me out said her son is the pit master. I had 2 meat plate with brisket and sausage. My sides were cream corn and Mac n cheese. Sides taste homemade and were great. I will go back.

Not a big barbecue lover, not a big pork eater, but the ribs and barbecue were so seasoned and on point I’m hoping to return and receive food just as good!! It was a birthday celebration lunch at a friend house and we picked up the food to go! It was hot and quite enjoyable!

Upon recommendation, we tried this restaurant. We were not disappointed at all. The BBQ was juicy and cooked right. For me, they need more smoke flavor, but that is a personal preference. I believe all the sides are cooked in house, not store bought. Prices are good for a BBQ place. The staff is very courteous and professional. Thank you for a great experience.

They refuse to let us enter. From the door they turned us away. They said, they're not serving anymore people, but other people were still entering. The majority of the customers inside and those coming in were black. So, i took it as discrimination /racist. We will never go back and suggest others don't go either.

Nice place and good food. Our server was great and super friendly. Brisket and turkey were good and moist. Great side dishes. Brisket had a little too much fat, next time I will ask for lean meat. Prices were reasonable compared to other overpriced bbq places. 4 in our party with plates and ice teas ran $52. I would recommend this place and I plan to visit again.

Food/Service/Price satisfactory. HOWEVER they added a SNEAKY SURCHARGE for using Credit/Debit Card and did so without mentioning the surcharge and there was NO signage to that effect at checkout counter. Cashier even asked my method of payment and didnt mention the surcharge. It was AFTER i paid and got the receipt that it appeared. I asked cashier for explanation...got NO APOLOGY or other ACKNOWLEDGMENT of my concern. I REALLY dont like being DECEIVED by merchants i do business with. I visited 7/18@ approx 1pm.

Big portions and very good quality food. Very good service definitely worth going to. Lots of room we were not crowded. Yummy

I have been in San Antonio for a year and Dee Willies is the BEST bbq I have ever had!!! Every time we go in, there is something going on and the atmosphere is cheery and fun and the food has some of the best flavor ever!

Amazing Food!! The ribs fell off the bone! The cream of corn and Mac was amazing! Not a fan of the sausage, but it was still good. The sweat potato side was so good! I tasted it off my husbands plate and regretted that I didn't get any for myself. Have gone back more than a half a dozen times and they always make sure you are taken care of and if something is not right, they will make it right. So nice and friendly!!

Food was good. A little disappointed the didn't have pulled pork. Ordered the brisket tacos. Brisket was great however it was just brisket in a tortilla. Not much of a taco. Came in with a group of 8 and staff refused to seat more than 6 at a table. I understand covid regulations but we were all together so it shouldn't have been an issue as long as our table was 6ft+ plus from everyone else, which it was.

I had the three meat plate with potato salad and Cole slaw (I needed some veggies). The brisket was tender, tasty with just the right amount of smoke, ribs were super meaty and yummy and the chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Portion sizes were fair and I tried my best to finish it all (it was all good) but I came up a bit short and wound up with some leftovers……oh well 😁 I went with the house spicy BBQ sauce and it set off the meal perfectly. Service was great, food was excellent and the prices reasonable. It’s a Texas thang’

My husband and I visited this place on Friday evening, Feb 09, 2018. I must tell you that of all the BBQ I have eaten in my life, This was one of the worst. I grew up in Kingsville, TX, and I have eaten my share of BBQ thru the years. This has to be one of the worst; Bill Miller is better!! The beans are canned and subjected to the smoke, along with the canned cream corn, but you can taste the difference. My husband did tell me that the bar is good, and the beer is cold. We will NOT return.

My friend and I made our way to Dee Willie's this past Sunday afternoon after hearing so many good reviews and seeing them on T.V. As we pulled into the parking lot we were anxious to get inside just by smelling the deliciousness and was greeted by one of the pitmasters (which I nicknamed him gentle-giant). We get inside and was greeted again by a young lady at the register, real cool down to earth I must say and my friend girl and I was talking to her more after we ordered (she is the sister and come to find out we have a lot in common) The dining room is really big and spacious (I can bring my cousin in a wheelchair with no problem) also there is a big stage for the live music on Friday nights. The food was terrific we had ribs, brisket, sausage, beans, green beans, potato salad, baked potato salad and topped off my lunch with banana pudding. You can't beat the prices, they are very inexpensive and they also have daily specials. Whoever is reading this if you don't go you've missed out! We will be returning!!!

Great atmosphere two guys singing Motown and r&b. Food was fantastic had 2 meat meal brisket and ribs loaded potato salad. No napkins no bbq sauce, refills, no service.pretty sure cashier stole money because I paid cash
Bar-B-Que
I was surprised by the amount of brisket that was on the single meat plate. The single meet came a choice of two sides. I chose the mac-n-Cheese and the cream-of corn, both were good. The B-B-Q brisket, was hot, fresh. But most important- the meat was not dry. The B-B-Q sauce could be a bit more spice, but that is a personal preference. Not much to say about this place. Good- plate of Bar-B-Que
