We had seen this restaurant being reviewed on a local television station and all the hype associated with this place, it lived up to it's reviews. It has a great ambiance and we were quickly seated. Good wait staff and service. We tried the Scallops in Saffron Cream which turned out to be a great appetizer. I had the calzone and she had the Penne and Fennel Sausage in Six Cheese Cream, both being full of flavor and very filling. We did not try any deserts as we were full but we will be back.

Horrible Horrible Horrible place to be. If you live in Bethany Neighborhood area I recommend not not not ever going there. My husband went there at 9:18pm and they said the last order would have been at 9:20pm and they didn't allow him to go inside while the restaurant was open until 10pm. He came home wrote a reveiw about this experience. My husband is a kind and compassionate person. Tonight(7th,Jan 2018) my husband had forgiven the experince of last week's and took me along to enjoy happy hour. Belive me, once we are there the 2 guys came out and literally behaved so wrongfully against the reveiw and used facial, physical expressions of anger, offending us to humiliate us enough , opened the doors saying you write bad reviews about us....just get out from here...Its too bad. We are very offended by this behavior of this local business that earns money from local people. We have spend(1000s) here a lot of money for atleast 3 years bringing freinds and family. They didn't even conside how to be well behaved around a lady. I personally felt very unsafe in my body-mind from these wrong behavioral of this restaurant people. Its disgusting. And I wouldn't recommend anyone in this neighborhood to eat there; atleast be cautioned if you write a "true reveiw" they will chew your face badly. Need to Learn Being Human!!

The italian dishes were fantastic, especially the lobster ravioli. The tiramisu made for fantastic desert. The service was nice and on top of everything, it’s located in a strip mall but inside had a nice Italian atmosphere. Would recommend and will be back

We went to Degario’s some years ago and had a very good meal and interesting wines, but we hated the TV screens that dominated the room. I’ll go to a bar to watch European soccer games, but when I have a good meal at home, or at a restaurant, I do not want to see a TV screen. We decided to sample their food again by having a take-out. We are glad we did as what we had (Calabrese Glazed Ribeye and the Salmon in Chianti) were excellent and modestly priced for the quality and quantity.. My wife had originally wanted the Rosemary Lemon Halibut and that was what we ordered on-line. Later we got a telephone call from the restaurant that their halibut delivery had not happened and it was sold out. He was very apologetic and I said my wife had an alternative (the Salmon). I was then told they would give us free desserts for our inconvenience, and the Panna Cotta was lovely. Everyone we had contact with over the telephone and on pick-up were so pleasant and courteous, that the desserts seemed a very generous offer. An additional benefit was we discovered they now have a second dining room without any TVs. It will not be long before we are back to eat in-house!

I've come here twice and both times the service has been perfect and the food has been extraordinary. Both times I ordered the Ravioli di Zucca con Salvia--ravioli with zucchini--and it was rich, intense, and perfect. I savored each bite. (I should probably branch out and try other menu items but how can I pull myself off perfection?) I'm glad this place isn't closer to me or its siren song would lure me there far too often! I've only been here for later lunch on weekdays and it's been quiet, no reservations needed. There are lunch entree specials for around $8 or you can pick from the menu for around $14. It's just a little strip mall location but inside has nice ambiance. Some dishes are served with an edible flower garnish.

Wow, this is like a hidden gem that shares a common parking lot with Albertsons! We came here on a fluke after work & TKD & on daughters day as a family. It wasn’t crowded which was amazing at 6 PM. It smelled delicious upon walking in. We had a wonderful service they staff were attentive, kind and informative. We don’t have the privilege of having any Italian in the smaller suburb city west of here. (Except tons of pizza joints of course) A young gentleman staff member helped us figure out what to order and explained what things were to us which we really appreciated. The squash ravioli was like succulent cheesy pasta heaven! My husband got the mushroom penne which he loved and our 8yr old daughter got in individual pepperoni pizza. We could not believe how amazing the food was! The prices were quite reasonable too! We will be back!!

My daughters and I were out shopping and wanted to treat ourselves to dinner. We had never been to this restaurant before so decided to try it. The food was very good. The cream sauce was decadent and full of flavor. The pasta perfectly cooked. It was plated beautifully. This place should have easily gotten 4 or 5 stars. Oh, but the service! It was excruciating. We almost left at the beginning when we got ignored for a ~10 minutes. The table that walked in right ahead of us was immediately seated. I half wondered if they wanted us to go away. We weren't dressed up but we were certainly in Finally, we got sat. Again, we almost walked out as it was another 10 full minutes for us to even see a waiter. We ended up ordering everything at this point (the server only wanted to take our drink orders). It then took just over an hour to get our food. Yes, we timed it. No apologies. No offer of bread. Very little checking on us. They did tell us the food was delayed as we approached the hour mark. We had planned on getting dessert but didn't want to wait the extra time for it. Overall, we were there for just over 2 hours. To be clear, there were, I believe, 3 tables (including ours) being served. So, hopefully this was all "new restaurant" pains. The food was delicious. If you have the time and want a leisurely meal then go.

Degarios is relatively new, and my husband and I have been here twice to great delight. An authentic Italian restaurant with delicious cuisine in Rock Creek!. This place deserves more recognition and visibility, as it's a "hidden gem" tucked away in a suburban shopping center. Whether you're in the area on business, or want a refreshing change from the various pubs and franchises in the area, DeGarios has something for everyone, with its fresh appetizer and salad options, pastas and pizzas, and more traditional meat and seafood fare. I found a beautiful wine (one of the best I've had anywhere) to accompany the Spaghetti alle Poverace (spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, clams, subtly flavored with controne pepper). Another time I tried the Trofie al Pesto con Patate e Fagiolini (pasta with potatoes, green beans and pesto -- a new-to-me combination and so filling I took some home). We have not yet tried the desserts (too full!) but they do offer traditional Italian desserts including panna cotta and tiramisu. (Note to self: stick to a salad and light appetizer next visit, so I'll have room to try dessert!) The only critique I would have (and hence a four-star rating) is that the "mall shop" environment does not match the wonderful cuisine, and I hope eventually management will be able to transform this space into something with more ambiance. I realize that cosmetic upgrades can be expensive and may have to wait until they are more established, but at least they should replace the dreadful midi-generated background music to something that transports us to Italy! Degarios also offers lunch and twice-daily happy hours with ever changing menus.

We went on a Friday around 7pm, temps outside were about 85 degrees. We were seated quickly inside, given waters, and placed our drink orders. Note - being seated inside after a hot day meant inside was baking hot as the seating area has windows on 3 sides, and minimal shades. Drinks did come within 10 minutes and was the major highlight of the evening. We ordered our food shortly after the drinks. Our appetizer of scallops ($18) took 45 minutes. While the tables were relatively busy 45 minutes felt excessive for a wait on appetizers. When it did come the sauce on the scallops was salty and the order had only 4 scallops on the plate. Given the price we were expecting more. Mains arrived right after the appetizer (did they not get to any of our ticket till all at once?) and were disappointing. I had their ravioli with squash ($17). It was clearly premade store bought pasta which had little flavor over the cream sauce, rather than highlighting the squash and showing off various seasonings. With that being said it wasn’t unheard of for a pasta main for price. My boyfriend had the lamb chop ($26?) which came with potatoes, green beans, and a sauce. He had ordered it medium rare and it came somewhere between well and past well. The green beans were again salty, and the sauce seemed likely to have come from a jar. For the price it was rather underwhelming. Both dishes came with what I presume was garlic bread. While it was clearly toasted it was a filler with minimal flavor of any kind. Overall it seemed the restaurant must be catering to an older crowd given the mix of over seasoning, bland pasta, and slower service. I wouldn’t recommend for the price that the restaurant has set.

4 adults celebrating our new grand daughter- all happy with our meal. We had lasagna, spaghetti, shrimp rotinni and chicken alfredo- all delicious. My glass of pino grigio was perfectly chilled and a respectable amount served in a nice big goblet. Our server was just perfect. Very classy.

Met friends here for early dinner on a Thursday. New place for both couples. Tasty food, I had the Petto di Pollo and my husband had the Chicken Linguine. Both were served hot and flavorful. Portions were perfect - in fact I brought half home for lunch. Did not have room for dessert. The only negative is that it needs customers. I think at any given time in the almost two hours we were there - at the most there were 6-8 of us. Hope they get more business!

Website said they were open 11AM to 10PM Monday to Friday. Have never eaten there and was looking Forword to it, but when I tried the doors, they were locked and the people inside ignored me. This was distressing behavior and less than hospitable. Not sure how business is at this location, but I will not be returning.

we've stopped by a few times and there haven't been very many other customers so service has always been very good. of course we go early so i can't speak for later on in the evening for dinner.

My Wife and I stopped in to try Degarios about a week ago. What a lovely place, quiet, nice ambience with very good food. The Waiter was excellent and so happy to know they are a local family who all participate in the family business. Great Wines, not a huge selection, but the few that we sampled were very good and the Waiter was extremely knowledgeable on the Italian Wines. The Happy Hour looks great as well with great prices on wine and beer and we will be making a trip back to try the HH Menu Items very soon. Thank you Degarios and Thank you Number One for making our dinner special.

My 14 years child and I ate Lasagna Bolognese and Pizza Margherita. It was delicious, fresh ingredients served hot. The pizza sauce was very unique. The dishes were large and we took back home the pizza remains. We couldn't leave it there. Even after heating, it was delicious. It cost 27 $ for both and you get what you paid for. Highly recommended.

We decided to try this place as we were looking to do take out once a week to support the local places during the Covid quarantine. Italian food is not something I think about doing take -out usually but it worked. Husband ordered the salmon which was very tasty. I ordered a pesto/italian ham tortillini dish which was very good too. Presentation was lacking on the salmon but it's tough when everything is going into a take out box. We will try them again when we can actually eat there.

Another delicious appetizer, meal with wine & tiramisu. All dressed up for the holidays too! Our nine-year-old daughter always gets the pizza my husband got the steak meal and I get the cheese ravioli zucchini dishes. My husband wants to get one of the pizzas for himself next time because they are so delicious!

We had high hopes for this interesting Italian restaurant but the food did not live up to our expectations. Given the mixed reviews on the website I have to say you should take your entrées wisely. We started with a caprise salad which was a nice stack of tomatoes, mozzarella and basil with a generous balsamic drizzle that was easy to share and enjoyable. We also had a scallop appetizer which seemed very overpriced at $16 for four scallops that included a large amount of sauce and saffron for the scallops but was overall disappointing. The spaghetti Bolognese was a nice size portion of pasta and sauce described as their meat Ragu which for me was lacking on tomatoes or tomato sauce. The sauce tasted more like a sloppy Joe mix for me. It was not an enjoyable spaghetti dinner. The second pasta dish was a tortellini prosciutto which was also a really good size portion that was tasty and enjoyable. Service staff were attentive and the restaurant was not busy when we walked in but was much busier when we left so it’s clearly a matter of taste. So again it is a choice of entrées but I know there are better choices for Italian (see my earlier review) so I doubt we will return.

Third time at this restaurant food is consistently very good. My tortellini was fantastic. Wife loved her eggplant. But service didn't come close. We arrived at 4:45 (going to play after) and first server told us we were in time for early bird apps. When we tried to order at 5:02 or so second server says, nope can't order them now it's after 5. We asked for child menu for my 91 year old mother in law, got menu but when we tried to order nope can't do that. We had on previous visit asked if child menu was possible and were told it was. Next she tried for half order of spaghetti but that wasn't possible either. End result we didn't order appetizer, dropped one of our mains so that the spaghetti was shared, and we didn't order dessert. We like the food but service needs to be better.

This is the second time that we have eaten at Degario's. Both experiences were great. We really liked their seared scallops with saffron sauce. the penne with six cheeses and fennel sausage slices, the seafood fettuccini, and their tiramisu was excellent. The service was great. I've admired their pizzas from a distance and may be compelled to try one in the near future. The wait staff, who do a great job, were obviously related making this a local family spot which we prefer to the chains.

We've eaten here at least a half dozen times. Great food, good wine, and the service was friendly and ready to answer questions. Who eats Italian at 930 pm? Those people were wrong. Come at a decent hour, not just before they're ready to close. Most kitchens close almost a half hour before the restaurant itself, the staff can clean up and be home at a reasonable time. I would recommend this Italian to anyone who enjoys good food at a good price.

We have implemented Thursday Pizza Night at Degarios for the last year. Pizza and pasta options are great. My kids love the Pizza Margarita. Great service too!

No waiting, no crowds, for now! I am enjoying this secret little gem before everyone finds out about it. The food the servers and the atmosphere is so relaxing and I love it!

Food was excellent. I had a penne pasta dish with six cheese cream sauce and fennel sausage. Very good. I had an appetizer that was carasau bread and fondu - also very good. Very moderate prices. I highly recommend. Good service.

I love this place. The chef presents such wonderful dishes and they are all so delicious. Compares to, or even better than, some downtown fancy places at twice the price and I don't have to drive downtown. The cocktails are just as good. You must go try everything

The excellent menu may be a little too sophisticated for a neighborhood restaurant. It is in authentic Italian menu style using Italian words followed by English explanations. The Cesar Salad was among the best I have ever had. Lasagna and capellini primavera were both delicious. Portions were just right as we were full with just a little left on the plate. Service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients, and preparation. Background music was mandolins reminding us of our visit to Venice where we were serenaded in a gondola. This restaurant is not too busy early and is well worth a visit.

We went to Degarios for the first time on Saturday evening. Wonderful experience and Italian meal. This restaurant is a hidden treasures. Inviting atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. The meal was divine. Spaghetti with tomato base clams, Ceasar salad, lamb chops with green beans better, potatoes and wonderful reduced wine sauce. This restaurant is highly recommended. We will be back again and again.

Celebrated our anniversary at this delightful restaurant. Food was delicious, service superb and overall an excellent choice for a celebration or just an evening out. The Caesar salad was so good! It was fresh and loaded with fresh Parmesan cheese. Both of our entrees were really flavorful. I had the shrimp in a wine sauce and my husband had chicken with linguine in a white sauce. Portions were plentiful and although we were both very full we opted for a homemade dessert each. The Tiramisu and The Pannacota were beautifully plated and incredibly tasty. Overall a 10 for our anniversary celebration dinner! Thanks Degarios!

Very good to excellent service, nice interior and background music. Located in sort of a modern day mall giving this place a less than charming atmosphere when you look out the windows. Additional charge of $1 for a drink on the rocks. Capesante Scottate scallops were very tasty. The veal were even tastier. Parmesan was abundant in the Ruchetta and Cesar salads. The Trofie al Pesto was a generous serving which left a wonderful flavor the rest of the evening. The Lasagna was soft, mushy, had no garlic flavor and the meat ragout tasted like plain hamburger. Not sure if this type of cooking is from an Italian region I am not familiar with. 7pm Wednesday evening, no reservation, parking not an issue, one other couple seated when we arrived, another couple sat but left soon, we spent about an hour dining...many, many empty tables.
