Fun place with large portions and lots of drink choices

By gnowhb |

I've been here a couple of times now. It is a fun place to go that is very family friendly. The food choices are pretty decent although not a whole lot of healthy options. They have a pretty extensive list of beers on draft and whiskies. For those with younger kids there is a playground area and a few video games. It can get pretty noisy because of the "busy-ness" and the kids. It can also get very busy. I would recommend it but caution that this is not a fine dining place and you won't have a peaceful meal. But if you like the energy of a popular place with good food and drink then this is a place for you. I just wish it had more healthy choices.

Too Much Noise!

By WaterGirl55 |

We recently went to Del's for a birthday lunch with family. We had no idea the place would be overrun with NOISY kids! We enjoy children, but this was over the top loud and we couldn't hear each other speak. That aside, the food was delicious. Great salad/grain bowls and very tasty sandwiches ( quite substantial in size, too!). Excellent selection of beer, wine and cocktails.

One of my San Diego favorites!

Always a great time when going to Del‘s for dinner and drinks. Food is consistently great and the service is even better. Dels is always a stop I must make on any trip to San Diego.

BBQ Hideout

By Barry H |

Had an early flight out of San Diego the following day, so drove into San Diego to beat the morning rush. I was staying with family, so they said, "Let's try Del's Hideout." It's kinds out of the way so to speak, but worth it. Nice sports bar with large selection of beer, spirits and food. Shelly and I ordered the Pulled Pork Platter. Casey had the Smoked Meatloaf Platter, Chelsea had smoked bbq wings and Brian had the Beef Brisket Platter. All in all, huge portions and the food was delicious.

Just great!

By Cew00 |

Delicious food but mostly very welcoming and generous! Our waitress was great with recommendations and service. I wish I captured her name. Even when I got it all wrong with my choice of dessert, she didn’t bill us for it! A great atmosphere and a great option if you are in town

Good enough to try it again

By MarabousMommy |

The servers at Del’s are extremely accommodating and personable. Even though they were dealing with a slow kitchen and some food mistakes the wait staff made it an enjoyable evening. Our group ordered appetizers – deviled eggs, and hot wings. The eggs came out almost immediately, but we had to wait for more than 20 minutes for the wings. Both items were really delicious and I will be making deviled eggs like those served from now on. The prime rib sandwich was tender and the accompanying beans had a nice amount of heat. The barbecue pulled chicken sandwich tasted great, but there were bits of bone in it so I only ate a couple of bites. My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich and thought it was perfect. Hands-down, the tastiest and most satisfying item we had was the Best Mac & cheese. The name is no lie! It was coated with crunchy Panko and had bits of jalapeño in it, the sauce was creamy and delicious. Del’s offers free ice cream, but the machine was empty. The manager visited our table and comped the chicken sandwich, and apologized for the other problems we experienced. It seemed like they were just having an off night. And I rather doubt that a similar experience would happen again. Normally the late arriving wings, bone in the chicken sandwich, and empty ice cream machine would equal three strikes and you’re out! But the food was good enough for us to decide we will give it another try.

Thankful & Happy

Thankful for this wonderful restaurant that never lowered its standards throughout the Pandemic. First place I went with a friend for indoor dining again because a) the food is extraordinary and b) I knew we could trust them for a great experience. They came through with shining colors. Love you guys.

Cohn group restaurant

Fun place in Adobe Falls where you order and pay and food is delivered to your table. Re-order with punch of button. Bar and some video games. Outdoor and indoor dining and lots of parking. Good food. Comp ice cream cone for each person.

A taste of home (Texas)

I have been to Del's twice now. Both times with the same result. Melt in your mouth brisket, meaty baby back ribs, perfect pulled pork. There are lots of sides to choose from, beer, a bar, Tv's, and a small arcade for kids. Crowded for dinner every day, it is worth the brief wait to get served. I will take all out of town guests here. Price for a 3 meat combo with 2 sides was $26.95. Enough for 2+ if you ask me. I substitute ribs for chicken and it is worth it..Adds $4, but the ribs are greatness. Give this place a shot, you will like it a lot! I am picky about my BBQ

Popular Place, Not For Me

By Don C |

We had early dinner here on Saturday during Restaurant Week. I thought the food was pretty good. I started with a bowl of Chili and then a Pulled Chicken sandwich with Pecan pie for dessert. My wife was less thrilled. She started with Mac and Cheese and then a Baja Chicken salad with Cherry Delight for dessert. Her portion sizes were large enough that she took half of it home. The desserts were disappointing. The Pecan pie was small and flavorless and the Cherry Delight was a custard with a couple of cherries thrown in. We were seated at a table with the most uncomfortable bar stools to sit on, in the middle of the shrieking children's section [probably the whole place is a shrieking childrens section]. Add overly loud thumping music and slow service. I couldn't get out of there soon enough. The roar of the freeway noise was pleasant in comparison.

BEST brisket in town!

By deborahk301 |

Best brisket in town in our opinion! The other food is great, also. Nice to find a barbecue place her in southern CA that actually smokes the meat! Beans were delicious, potato salad was very good. Loved the hominy with jalapenos and the street corn. A little spicy but soooo good! Very casual place, kid friendly. We will recommend to friends and will be back.

Great new place near SDSU

By Carole Ann W |

Have already been to Del's 3 times since they opened last month. The food is delicious and the service is great, even though they were busy each time I've been there. "Tes" is a superstar!! She handled our group of 10 with ease and kept our beverages full and even stopped several times to take photos for us. Great gal with a great personality!

Shhhhhh!

Don’t tell anyone about this great, new restaurant. The selections are varied and scrumptiously delectable enough to fit anyone’s tastes, the staff is professional and well-trained, that atmosphere is fun with great music. So very grateful to have it in the neighborhood, but let’s keep it just between us, shall we?

Dinner after long day of travel

Food was good. Bit pricey for sandwiches but grateful for a chance to relax and have a meal. Free soft serve ice cream was a nice unexpected treat.

Family Friendly

By cedric09 |

The folks at Cohn Restaurant Group are aiming for the family crowd with this new addition to their collection of San Diego restaurants. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood not far from Interstate 8, it attempts to provide everything a modern family is looking for. There is a kid's play area (a la McDonalds), a extensive list of local brews, a menu strong on family favorites and enough TV's that you cannot avoid watching a variety of sports programming. The place can be hectic, particularly on Wednesdays when kids eat free. There are daily specials every day of the week and happy hour bargains as well. The staff is friendly and helpful, food is good and there are enough distractions that even the most jaded child will find something to do. Don't miss the free ice cream machine on your way out.

Wow! Great food and good serving

By pam c |

Wow! Great food and good serving sizes! We had the dinner for two and it was plenty of food and we took some home too. Serves was great and fast! Loved the chicken, very moist and tender!

Great BBQ

By James S |

I really enjoyed the BBQ burger that had a large burger with pork and a sausage on top. Huge! Best I have had in a long time. Just make sure when you do the burger and beer special that they don't charge for the beer. The dark beer was great also.

You can see it from the freeway-Worth finding your way there.

If you’re not from this part of town it might take a minute to find. Great food Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. When you walk up you grab a menu and place your order at the bar. They give you a locator disc and you find a place to sit. When it’s busy they staff to help seat you. One of the menu features is they have family size side dishes . Also family dinners. Kid friendly. Go check it out.

Fun bar and grill set up with dedicated kid entertainment

By Stephen S |

This is a fun place to go and hang out - good food, good drinks, lots of tvs and a built-in kids playground. Have been here a couple times and the food is good for breakfast, lunch or whenever. The open air atmosphere is relaxed and the kids love that play area with toys and ipads.

Indoor or outdoor seating

By Jan W |

I met a small group of friends for lunch and was pleased to see that indoor or outdoor tables are available. This is a casual dining restaurant with a friendly staff. The menu features lots of BBQ options. I tried the five grain salad, which included arugula, bleu cheese, roasted tomatoes, pecans, smoked turkey breast, tomato vinaigrette, a grain blend (not sure what type of grains) and shredded carrots. Other than being a bit light on dressing it was an interesting blend of flavors. I ordered a side of fries and they were fresh, not soggy. Another in my group ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of onion rings and the rings were enormous.

Delicious

The impossible burger was delightful. Fries were equally as good, just too salty fir my taste. When they opened the roll up door it was way too cold at our inside table.

Great portions and price

By Pnyangel |

We had the food delivered to our hotel on 4thh of July just before the dinner rush. We got the dinner for 2, and my daughter doesn't eat much red meat, however, this was so good and soft. She picked the beef brisket, pulled pork, and hot links, & it came with 2 small side, which was green beans, fries, & we had to order a side of onion rings. Everything was delish and we still had leftover for the next day. We almost ordered elsewhere, but they didn't offer order for pickup or delivery using any of the rideshare services and I couldn't leave due to babysitting.

Warm Helpful staff, hearty / delicious food

By TravelingEgr |

I wanted a hearty lunch because I was attending a music festival and didn’t want to spend the time/money to buy food there, and Del’s Hideout was walking distance from my hotel. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go because BBQ isn’t my favorite food but my late husband loved it. And I’m recently widowed and was worried that it would be rough. The person who greeted me when I walked in was so welcoming. She asked if I preferred a table or bar, and when I indicated I could leave the tables for bigger groups she graciously ushered me to a table and promised Josh would take good care of me. Josh stopped by and was cheerful and helpful throughout my lunch. Josh made recommendations based on my preferences, and everything was delicious. I felt very well-cared-for and I highly recommend this restaurant. I ate the PB&J burger with a side of mac & cheese and drank a fun cocktail.

Great atmosphere, great food, awesome service

We happened to come across Del's Hideaway when we had the misfortune of staying at the Days inn. The food is amazing, fresh and hot, huge portions and oh, so tasty! Our meal here was so good it almost made our stay at the days inn bearable... Almost. We would highly recommend a meal or two at this establishment. You won't be sorry!
