Great appetizers

By AR H |

We loved the Burrata bruschetta with hazelnut & honey! This appetizer was one of the best bites of our entire trip. We also ordered the margherita pizza with burrata, and that ended up being a bit too much burrata for one meal. It was a fun and friendly atmosphere, but be prepared for loud music. The staff was helpful and attentive. We had a good experience and definitely recommend.

Decent pizza

By Izzy L |

Nothing crazy here, but the pizza was decent, everything was fresh, but most lacked flavor. Customer service was great

Music was too loud and abrasive

By Stacey L |

We read good reviews about the food - so we went to check it out. However - we did not expect the abrasive almost hip-hop music that was blaring the in the background. I honestly don't know how anyone could tolerate it. Also wasn't aware of the shared tables. We were smashed in with other people We had a beer and left as we could not stand it any longer. Went to Uncle Vito's. AMAZING!

$120+ for a family of 3!!!

By thistle-do-nicely |

We arrived arrived on Monday evening from SFO. We were staying on Fillmore and our cousin suggested we grab a pizza at Delarossa. The pizza was ok, but way too expensive. It was $123 before the tip for three pizzas, two beers and wine for the adults and a Coke for my son. The place was busy with locals (as far as we could tell) on a Monday evening - so wages in SF must pretty decent.

Clean

By William S |

Great bartender. This place is frequented by the young crowd in the Marina. A sandwich, chicken parm, 3 house wines, 2 beers fo $86.00. Food was good, not over-the-top. We can understand that the locals like this place. Worth a return.

Our favorite diner in this trip

By SuryaSG |

This was our second visit as we really enjoyed food at their other location near financial district and we were not disappointed. This time around, we wanted to try an antipasti and not share the desert course. We tried: burrata bruschetta, hazelnut & honey ($8) - Two slices with subtle flavors of hazelnut and honey maccheroncini pomodoro with chicken parmigiana al forno ($14) - My wife's favorite. Reminded us of the dishes we tried in rustic Europe eggs purgatorio ($8.50) - This was a lunch special. Dish was really tasty but pretty light coppa mocha ($8) - pure gluttonous treat molten chocolate cake ($9) - Our favorite. This classic combo is really the highlight of both our visits bundaberg ginger beer ($4) - refreshing drink The location was very lively and service was great. It was tough to get a parking slot. We parked in the slot right next to the restaurant that had a 30 minutes limit while rest of the slots have a 2 hour limit

Fresh Italian cuisine and pizza ok

By Valesia11 |

Very nice place that offers "Italian" dishes although some very revisited recipes, vodka in pasta! All in all we ate for three nights in this place because the food is fresh and well cooked. The pizza is not bad, the salad is well seasoned with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Recommendation.

Fun vibe, good simple Italian fare in the Marina!

By SasMonti |

Open concept kitchen, high tops, and bar area. I liked the chill relaxed atmosphere at Delarosa San Francisco. There were plenty of patio seats outside and a modern setting inside. Burnt orange, chrome and wood everything was simple but energizing. The décor is modern, clean-cut and upscale, and the wait staff is courteous and professional. The seating is community-style, which is great for large groups. Notable things to try: Antipasti: ~Burrata bruschetta with hazelnut & honey was amazing. ~Meatballs in spicy marinara was definitely not your average meatball! ~Beer steamed clams - the sauce was so good I drank it like soup. Insalate: ~Red beet salad Pasta: ~Papardelle napoletana Pizza: ~Margherita with burrata wow this was so filling, paper thin crust easy to fold the pizza to hold the thick creamy burrata. The prices for everything were so reasonable. The dishes look a little on the small side but order the appetizers and salad and by the time you get to the pasta and pizza you are stuffed! I love Delarosa with the fun lively atmosphere and really good food at decent prices.

Good vibes and reasonably price pizza

By Nolinice |

A very young clientele and great setting on communal tables makes, with the bar, for a friendly, if not romantic place. Good selection of foods. The Caponata with burrata (and olives, fennel, capers tomato eggplant) was excellent. The Margherita with burrata quite good, we would have preferred a regular homemade tomato sauce, rather than the marinara sauce. The prosciutto and arugula pizza was also quite good. Excellent and fast service.

Happening spot. Good food. Good happy hour

By Garrett Dallas & Emily Stuhrberg |

$4 Trumer Pils at HH. Pizza was good and I had a couple of starters. The meatballs were a good portion and tasty. It got pretty crowded by 7 on a Friday night. Fun spot.

Best panini ever

By 842JohnF |

Stopped off for impromptu lunch and was not disappointed. Clean and friendly and I had the best panini I have ever eaten.

AMAZING!

By Jennifer H |

This is hands down my favorite place in SF. The burrata with honey appetizer along with the arugula prosciutto pizza are my go tos!

Expensive pizza

By Stefan W |

This place has great pizza and it was very tasty. However, it will cost you an arm and leg and after creating a pizza we though would cost around $20-25 it added up to almost $50. For a pizza? Maybe clearer instructions on the menu could help. Food was great however.

Lively scene and a mean Manhattan

By pcg123 |

I found this hopping place behind the Marriott hotel in pass through walkway. It has a big bar area to sit and eat solo or with a group. The bartender was super learned and made a proper Manhattan. The food was delicious Italian. Highly recommend.

Ambience, food and service...all good

By yef70 |

Walked by, saw the good vibe and decided to try. Did not regret. 10 mins wait only for lunch. Large draft beer selection (10-15). Good menu, all we ordered was very tasty.

Great pizza and awesome GF pasta as well!

By Cincyskimom |

Wood fired pizza with spicy sausage was just spicy enough. GF pasta with prawns and squash was delicious! Had to wait a bit for a table on a Saturday at 6ish. Text system allowed us to wander the neighborhood until our table was available. Panna cotta was soupy but tasted okay. Would definitely go again.

Excellent Food

By Cathy M |

My husband and I went there for Sunday Brunch and it was one of the best I've had. The food was excellent, the service was perfect, very nice atmosphere, cozy and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Just ok

By TOpotato |

We went to Delarosa with high expectations after having read raving reviews. We weren't blown away. Delarosa offers creative and a modern approach Italian food but there wasn't anything extraordinary for us. The margherita burrata pizza was fresh and delicious, but the mezzemani eggplant pasta was underwhelming and too salty. The ambiance was hip and communal tables were fun but it was very noisy with loud music playing and everyone trying to talk louder than the people next to you. It felt like dining in a night club. This is a place for a quick bite, not ideal for a relaxed dinner and conversation over a longer period of time. The service was good - the wait staff was fast and accommodating. We would go back but only to sit on the patio.

Great Meatball Sub and Salad

By Nothing Personal |

We split a meatball sub and a ceaser salad. Both were excellent. I could finish my half of the sub. It is huge. The salad had just the right amount of dressing. I’d definitely come back. Plus it was very reasonably priced for SF.

Wanted to try their pizza

By Bob N. |

We saw this restaurant the last time we went out for dinner in the center and saw a line outside waiting to get in. We figured the next time we would have to try it. Well it didn’t disappoint. We had appetizers which consisted of mussels and the other was burrata bruschetta which were both delicious. I had the linguini with calamari that tasted sooo gooooood! I had a taste of my wife’s pizza the margherita with burrata and was equally good. We’ll define coming back to try more of the menu.

Great pizza, lovely location!

By jcrann |

Walked her from our hotel at Cow Hollow. We just arrived in San Fran and wanted something quick, wow this place was good. One of the best pizza places I've been too forsure.

Just ok for me too

By Dgaldattrvls |

I agree with someone's review that this place is just ok. Nothing extra ordinary. The $16 dollar crab liguini came in a very small bowl. Thank you to our waiter who warned my fiance and I about it. We were supposed to be carbo-loading before a race but we didn't get to do that because the portions were small. We also ordered a margherita pizza. We didn't know what type of mozzarella cheese was on it. All we know if it tasted like mucus. Disgusting I know. Turns out it's what they call burrata cheese . Excuse me for not knowing my cheeses because when whenever I visit Italy and whenever I get pizza anywhere in the world, the margherita pizza is served with the same mozzarella cheese. Long story short, expensive for so-so food. I've had better pasta and pizza dishes.

Super food, pleasant atmosphere.

By Jackie P |

Lovely casual place on Chestnut street. A good variety of food and pleasant service. It got very busy around 6.30 so if you want to sit outside it's best to book.

Delicious Pizza

By Nath4lia |

Good pizza and variety of wines. Nice staff and honest prices. The only lowlight is the waiting time for a table.

Bad Timing?

By Tim C |

Maybe we came at the wrong time of day but I was thoroughly unimpressed by the food and service. We hit the place on a Saturday around 11:30 so I ordered an omelette and my wife ordered the margharita pizza. It wasn’t very busy but our order took forever, and then the waiter only brought the pizza. I honestly thought he forgot my order. When he finally brought it, what I got was a watery omelette short on the advertised sausage and onion. Denny’s makes a better omelette. I tried a slice of my wife’s pizza and it tasted like someone poured grocery store tomato sauce on a pizza crust and melted a few pieces of mozzarella over it. To call it bland would be polite. To top it off, we waited another 10 minutes for the check. Given the number of great places to eat nearby, we won’t be back.

DINNER WITH FRIENDS

By danieledc |

I ate a pizza with few friends, I’m Italian so I can taste and see if it’s good or not. Ahaha Was great the pizza, but the price is too much in my opinion. $20 for one margarita is kind of crazy. I got also the tiramisù, was nice but if I’ve to say something too much coffee.

Very nice!

By P636TTsusans |

I had dinner here my first night in San Francisco and this eatery was very close to where I was staying. It's a small place with both indoor and outdoor seating and since it was a warm night and relatively early, I opted to sit in the patio area. I had the scallops with leeks and lemon sauce which was extremely good as was the salad I ordered prior to dinner. It's a nice, casual, laid-back kind of place that can get very busy and loud on the weekends. However, I was there early on a Friday night and had the chance to relax, have a nice meal and a lovely glass of wine. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would encourage everyone to try it.

One of my favorites in SF

By soccerfan24 |

Delarosa is an awesome restaurant, great pizza, great appetizers, great paninis, can't go wrong with anything here. Definitely one of the best in the Marina District with reasonable prices

Great little place!

By Kris C |

I was here yesterday. I had the eggplant appetizer - fabulous. Not heavy, the flavor of the eggplant was wonderful, a little cheese as a complement instead of smothering it and a great fresh tomato sauce. It should be served with a slice of grilled bread to mop up,the tomato sauce. I also had the panino with various meats, tomato dressing, provolone, and the arugula side salad with lemon dressing. It was nicely done and the salad offset the heaviness of the sandwich. The bread (focaccia) was great. Servicecws good, too. I'd like to rate it a 4.5, but don't have that option!

Unreal atmosphere, cocktails, and food!

By sajw86 |

This is my must-visit on every visit to San Francisco! There is always a wait but you're able to snag seats at the bar and enjoy some cocktails from their concise but well put together cocktail menu. I'm a sucker for a great old fashioned or on a hot day can't beat their aperol spritz. We enjoyed the Meatballs, Hazelnut Burrata toast, Prosciutto arugula pizza and the off-menu "chef special" pizza which is spicy and has lots of saucy meaty goodness. We routinely chat with our share table neighbours and enjoy the atmosphere and patrons, everyone there for a great time.

Great Pizza

By MLT |

Excellent and fresh food. We shared a pizza - the margherita with burrata cheese and also the beet salad. My friend is a regular here and also loves the cocktails at the bar. I will definitely be back on my next visit.

Great pizza!

By C L |

Hip and casual place The crab balls were bland and underwhelming. The four medium scallops were tasty but overpriced. The hot salami pizza was great- chewy crust and lots of good toppings. Waiter helpful. Clean restrooms.

Delicious Italian food!

By Angela M |

Wonderful food and fast service. Lovely little restaurant, very busy and popular. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. The fritto misto seafood, meatballs in spicy tomato, pancetta, crimini pizza and crispy tagliolini dumplings were wonderful. Highly recommend you go.

Great pizzas - lousy service

By Michael_Wolf_Bek |

Random seating and waiters. Apparently little/limited coordination. However - great pizzas - sizzling hot and swift. Great crust and taste. A loud group of people in the bar made normal conversation impossible.

Amazing food!! Great staff!!

By Relax312477 |

We stopped to have lunch and we're blown away! The food is phenomenal, the service is great everyone is very friendly. Must eat here if you are looking for great Italian food. Pizzas are wood fired and so yummy!!

Best Italian

By Pauline. |

On Chestnut Street, Beautiful food, great staff, service was quick, got very busy. Had the Pizza Procituuo di Parma and the Raviolu, both were exceptional. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Great Rose' on the drink ist.

Good choices for Pizza

By Jake Rutter |

We ended up here after looking for a non-touristy restaurant near Union Square, this restaurant had high rankings on tripadvisor and yelp. The menu had lots of different options: pizza, pasta and appetizers. It was similar prices to other restaurants in San Francisco (generally pricey), but good location and service!

Excellent solo pizza!

By Lia A |

I was in SF for the weekend on my own and my Airbnb host recommended this place to me. I usually don't go much for Italian restaurants but this place looked nice. I managed to get a place at the bar and I ordered a pizza (prosciutto de Parma, goats cheese, arugula). Coming from Europe I've had pizza in Italy and elsewhere quite a lot and I have to say this pizza was one of the vest I've ever tasted. Amazing thin crust and great ingredients balance, super tasty. The bartender was really nice and the service efficient. Really great place! When I'm in town again I'll definitely pay a visit.

AMAZING!

By Lassedaugaard |

Please do yourself a favour and go here. We had been to Muir woods and on the way back wanted to find a really good lunch place.. This place is lovely, food is amazing, and the place is buzzing.. Just go here, you won't regret it!

Great food, Attentive Service, Action Central

By jakeDVermont |

Arrived in SF late afternoon with my wife for several days visit with my son and new daughter-in-law. He picked one of their favorite places, and I saw why: this place is FUN, busy with mostly 20-30 somethings, and food is great. Got a dog like my son? No problem! Bring along your well-behaved dog and they'll happily seat you at outdoor table. My son and dog made at least 20 new friends (See pic). Pasta was excellent, so was Margherita pizza. Panna cotta for dessert delicious. This is the young, SF scene at its best, with food to match. Highest recommendation.

Delicious

By foxymamaruth |

Delarosa was within walking distance of our hotel and what a great place. The decor, atmosphere and vibe were great. We were seated immediately and our server was very nice, although he didn't introduce himself. You are provided with complimentary bread and dipping oil which was outstanding. This might possibly be the best bread I've ever tasted. It was actually the size of a small pizza!!! Delicious!!! I ordered the ravioli and my friend had the scallops. We both commented about how delicious our meals were and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely return to Delarosa's.

Beautiful Place!!!!

By Tito R |

Food was excellent, great portions. Extensive wine list, Defiantly coming back!!!!!This place was yummy and worth the wait.

Trendy

By Michelle B |

This trendy little restaurant was great. Superb food cooked well with amazing flavours. A wide selection of drinks and good price range for food. A great atmosphere sitting next to complete strangers to share the experience of good food, just like they do in Italy. Loved it!

Nice Pizza Lunch

By SonomaNut |

Nice location with outside and window seating. Pizza and beet salad OK but lots of similar places in neighborhood. Good service.

Amazing food & service. Be aware in the area though...

By Danielle B |

Blow your mind good! We came here our last night in SF and the appetizers, beer, and pizza were awesome! We were a party of four and did family style 2 appetizers, 2 pizzas, 2 desserts and it was plenty. The service was incredibly fast, they were very busy and we were in and out in a hour. Wish there was one of these in Atlanta! Side note about the area- we parked on the corner of Chestnut and Pierce and our car was broken into while were were at dinner from 7:30pm-8:45pm on a Monday night so beware if you are parking do not leave any valuables whatsoever. Our camera was stolen out of the trunk so we have no vacation pictures, such a bummer. I think rental cars are being targeted because while at the police station two other tourists came in with the same situation...

Chic vibe

By sweetandneat |

Food was very good but keep in mind that it is a communal table restaurant. It became less enjoyable as people were seated next to us, so I would recommend getting an outside table. The mussels antipasti and tiramisu were excellent.

Hip, fun, vibe with wonderful pizza and other delights

By bostonGM58 |

Sometimes you just want pizza... but when you walk into Delarosa, you realize you can have much much more. Order one of their daring and wonderful combinations, or create your own pie - you won't be disappointed. The crusts are pure perfection. This family-friendly marina district restaurant is a perfect choice at the end of any day in San Francisco.

Really nice

By JBK |

Went here for dinner with my family of 5 tonight. After spending 5 days in LA, with 4 of them at theme parks, I was glad to finally eat some good food. The food at the theme parks was awful, and the food on Hollywood Boulevard where we also stayed was not much better. The food at Delarosa was really good. You could taste the fresh ingredients and the presentation was great as well. Good service too and the place had a really funky vibe. Price was reasonable. An enjoyable meal.

Good all-round Italian food

By AntM_WorldExplorer |

Had dinner with some friends here. Ordered a lot of the small dishes, including the margherita pizza. The ambiance of the place is pretty busy, apparently is 'the place' to eat in the Marina district at the moment. Pretty cool bar where you can have a drink before your table is ready. Not sure if I would rush back as nothing really blew us away but the standard was generally very good.

Great Food, Great Vibe

By Jenn M |

My friend and I were visiting San Francisco from Brooklyn, and my friend was craving a thin crust margherita pizza. We found this place online and decided to check it out, and we weren't disappointed. It was exactly what we were looking for, and felt like we were at home in Brooklyn! The crowd was younger, early twenties to mid thirties, I'd guess, and the pizza was so good we paid our compliments directly to the chefs. Everyone knows NYC/Brooklyn residents are 'pizza snobs,' but this place was incredible!!

Bad service

By Víctor B |

The pizzas were quite good. What we did not like was the service. We arrived late from an Alcatraz night visit and very hungry. We got to Delarosa at 10:30pm, quite close to the 11pm closing time. They attended us and took the order for the pizzas. When we finished the pizzas, with the place still packed (and other tables still halfway through their dinner), they told us that "we could not have any dessert because we have already ordered". We did not like their manners with us, and besides that desserts are already made and they only need to put them in a plate, if that was the case they should have asked if we were going to have any dessert after the pizza.

Soooo good

By mimbecky |

Long day spent walking over the bridge and through the Presidio. We were bordering hangry and walked by this restaurant. After smelling and seeing the food as we walked by, we turned around and headed in. Ordered a kale and beet salad to start. One of the best salads in a long time. Split a Margarita pizza with burata cheese and I can't even discribe how good it was. Friendly staff. All in all, wonderful!!!

Great pizza

By Peter W |

Really awesome pizza! The sausage and pepperoni pizza was absolutely loaded with meat. Will seek this place out again when I visit SF.

GREAT SMALL PLATES

By Tim |

Had the crab rice balls. Very tasty and served very hot, sauce was a perfect compliment. The cauliflower dish was also excellent and the sauce was real tasty. Big fan as they were very accommodating.

Looked fine on paper...

By Randy L |

#1 easy request is to bring the food at the same time for everyone - broken. Not even close. Food ok, service fine, music too loud...

Casual affair

By Maria L |

Dinner @ Delarosa tucking into eggplant parmigiana, linguine with crab and a Margherita burrata thin crisp pizza and then polished off the best tiramisu we have ever tasted, a couple of reds and a 'dirty dog' cocktail for two and we are in big belly heaven....

Not what it was a year and a half ago

By ggintruckee |

Visiting the area again and remembering the wonderful gnocchi we had last time we knew we needed to eat here again. Sadly it's not the same as it was last time and gnocchi is no longer on the menu. Last night we tried the chicken Parmesan and the pappardelle napoletana, both were on the bland and disappointing side... We were hopeful that the flavors of both would be bold and wonderful. The large kale/romaine salad was tasty but was a bit on the small size for the price. We'd have to say the best part of the meal was the herb bread, the Uinita Black Lager and the Green Flash Passion Fruit beer.

Excellent Brunch

By Pamela R |

Sunday brunch at Delarosa is my fave - sitting on the sidewalk and people watching while enjoying proseco, stuffed French toast, meatballs and good laughs. Enjoyed it again!

Delarosa is Delicioso

By justinhoagster |

We had pizza and kale salad. Great service, happening place, decent pricing and AWESOME food. Rustic look and seating on backless stools at the tables. Good times!

Fun Place. Good Food.

By Joe P |

Our hotel was close by, and they recommended delarosa. We found the restaurant and were quickly seated at a communal table. The storefront windows were open and the patrons were noisy. It was tight and crowded, so we got to know the couple sitting next to us and had an enjoyable meal. We had the crab roll appetizer and pizza. Drue was our server and was there for everything we needed. The food arrived quickly and was very good. All in all, it was a fun night, with great "street vibe."

You're NOT missing something amazing if you haven't been here

By JAY M |

The place is conveniently located in the heart of the city. Quite buzzing and always full of people. That's what baffles me. My experience would say otherwise. We went for a dinner on a busy evening. Ambiance: The place has a good ambiance. The seating is good and lighting could be better but not too bad. A little cramped, so you may be rubbing arms with someone or the other as you make your way in or out. Food: Being a vegetarian, I wouldn't give any comments on the non-veg part (that may be good). But as far as vegetarians go, you may not be missing something if you give this restaurant a skip as there are many far better places to have your meals in this lively city. We ordered Burrata Bruchetta as an appetizer, followed by Mezzemani pasta, a Margharita and a Spinach pizza. While burchettas were okay and pasta were good, pizzas were disappointing as they were quite greasy and very chewy for a thin crust. There is as much dough I can tolerate when I order a thin crust pizza. Service: Service was quite slow although the lady taking care of our group was well behaved. I would tend to attribute slow service to the rush hour but I am not sure if that's the case during non-rush hours as well or not. However, I shall give this restaurant a pass, given the quality of restaurants that are there in San Francisco.

Delicious Pizza

By DaisyTravels |

We arrived at Delarosa by chance- we were shopping in the Marina neighborhood and this restaurant was recommended to us by a local. We enjoyed it here, we started our meal with a delicious kale Caesar salad and both of the pizzas we ordered were outstanding - we had the funghi misti and margherita pizzas. Our server was friendly and attentive. Wish this place was closer to where we live so we could eat here again!

Good Pizza and good vibes

By Pedro P |

A nice place for a pizza lunch, with good quality and good atmosphere. When too busy the service is slow, but the flavours still deserves the waiting time.

Arcade Fire, New Order and pizza

By Kristin B |

Rocking music and Roman pizza. It is a good combo. They also have a great selection of beer and wine. My son's rating for the cheese pizza (his baseline comparison) was a 7/10 -largely because cheese was more parmasean than mozarella. Great crust though. Hit of the night was homemade doughnuts and dip! Totally scrumptious. But I really could just rock out to wickedly good music and wine.

Great find in this foodie neighborhood

By Claire L |

My husband and I were staying around the corner and wanted a light, quick dinner. Delarosa fit the bill...and more. Seating is open and family style. We were seated with a very friendly group. The pizza was delicious. We had arugula and Parma with mozzarella. Our glass of wine was good and reasonable. The service was excellent on this early Sunday evening. All and all a nice experience. Definitely a young active crowd

Pizza & salad to go.

By AbMb34 |

Stayed at a hotel half mile from this eatery. Stopped in to order a pizza and salad to go and it was ready in fifteen minutes. Enjoyed.

Wonderful pizza

By Victoria L |

This was a fun place to stop as we walked a Chestnut Street at lunch time. We were early but we were not alone for long because it filled up very quickly keeping the attentive staff hopping. We tried Dungeness crab arancini with a Calabrian dip that were small and easy to share before our pizzas, one the traditional margarita and the second a fungi pizza. Both arrived piping hot and were delicious...they were large enough to feed three and take the remainder away for a later snack. We sat next to a party of little girls celebrating a birthday and it made the atmosphere all the more fun.

Late afternoon drink and nosh

By Qpower1 |

Popped in for a drink and decided to try the bread with EVOO. Freshly baked pizza dough with a few onions served alongside a dish of EVOO. Pleasant trattoria environs and beautiful people crowd highlighted our visit. Bench seating at communal tables. Rustic in its urban way!

Good pizza, great service

By Mousey1985 |

We went in there for a second dinner! Had a very good prosciutto pizza. Unfortunately it got tipped over by another guest! The manager however insisted on us having a complimentary pudding, which was really really good! In addition we had a great chat with the manager about lower class german football!

Really great find

By FussyDave12 |

We ended up in here for a late lunch on the return leg from a bike trip over the Golden Gate Bridge. We were starving and thirsty and we left full and very satisfied. Fantastic pizzas and a great selection of draft beer. The service was excellent and we loved the atmosphere.

Trendy Pizza with Good Beer

By Marty m |

This restaurant has great pizza, funky modern decor and good cold draft. It is an amazing place for lunch and has a great atmosphere with lots of happy customers. You can eat on picnic like tables inside but if you are lucky you can eat outside on Chestnut St and watch the show San Francisco Lifestyle Show ride by. (the we were there 6 nude dudes on bicycles rode by which was both gross and funny). Love the food and decor, looking forward to the visit next time.

Good meals

By Peter B |

Really popular place with locals etc, good atmosphere, well attentive staff accompanied by really tasty food, one to visit!

Fun restaurant

By sogster |

Really good Italian food Pretty busy..We had a 20 min wait on a Sunday night but the staff do work hard to fit you in Most tables are communal, long benches which makes it a fun dining experience

Ciao Roma Pizza

By BeeSkip |

This past week, we dined at Delarosa's for the second time. Again, it was excellent !! Great Happy Hour !!! Nice neighborhood vibe!! Pizzas definitely Roman style, thin fresh crust, as we just got home from time in Rome Italy. Salads were served cold, crisp and perfectly dressed. Its a small place and well worth the visit. I know that third time will be a charm and will look forward to 4th, 5th and so on....

Lovely spot for dinner

By Michael A |

A great place to meet people at the communal tables. Pizzas are great and service from Floyd was perfect.

Good pizzas in a young atmosphere

By Francois L |

Modern dining room with high ceilings kitchen open on the dining rom and huge bar Young crowds hence rather noisy The pizzas are quite large and the crust is very thin. Large choice. Large choice of beers as well. Service is friendly and young prices as expected

I like this place

By Justmyopinion |

This is not only a cool restaurant but the food is good.. You sit at long tables with other people and their menu encourages sharing. We had the mussels, meatball, Caesar, steak Spiedini, 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine $92 before tip and we liked everything! Not bad. This is a fun place. Our server fit right in. Lots of personality and very attentive = great tip. I would absolutely come here again. We really felt full and entertained. Great night out. Only suggestion: expand ladies washroom. 2 is not enough. We had a line for the bathroom next to where we sat.

Friendly and Tasty

By worldfamousjeff |

We stopped in here for a refreshment after too much time on our feet walking around the greater Presidio area. The bartender was friendly, maybe even a little overly so for our state at that moment. I tried a delicious cocktail (some sort of homemade ginger concoction) and a bruschetta with honey and burrata, which was also great. I'd consider full-on dinner there another time.

Italiano!

By Keisha A |

We saw this pop up while searching places close by, it was super close to our hotel and we decided to go and boy were we not disappointed!! We were seated in about 2 minutes and a waiter came to us real quick! The menu is straight to the point but the flavors are on point! We ordered the Margherita pizza which was so good and the grilled steak with crispy potatoes. The flavors were really good! The desserts were amazing! As an avid lover of Tiramisu I was not disappointed and the others with me loved their dessert as well! The workers are young and the decor is modern but the food is classic Italian! Plus point, whoever was in charge of the music did a great job!

False advertising with poor service

By gracesfsf |

I used to love the pizza and vegetable dishes here and really looked forward to returning. A single pizza is too big for one so when I saw they had a happy hour with a smaller pizzetta size, I decided to return specifically for that. The website advertised happy hour as 3-6. I arrived at 3:30 and ordered, and was told the happy hour had changed to 4. I said the website said 4 and it’s specifically why I came in - for the smaller pizza. They offered nothing but a shrug, not even making the smaller size 30 minutes early. I ordered the full pizza, didn’t finish it, and they offered zero discount on the pizza. The manager was right there as well. I expected more of this former fave. I won’t be back.

My wife and I had lunch at delarosa on a rainy SF day. We ordered antipasto and pizza. Everything was good, but nothing was exceptional. I doubt if I would return as there are so many incredible pizza places to eat and I would consider delarosa to be average.

Nice little pizza place & bar

By Julia C |

We went in to simply get a drink & was very pleased to see they had a full service bar with lots of options. We had just eaten, but the food smelled & looked amazing. Would def recommend if you want a pizza and good drink!

Great meal

By Amy M |

Great casual italian dinner. Dining room was definitely noisy, although we didn’t mind. Loved the vegan cheese option.

Very disappointing

By Marylou M |

French couple for dinner. We order vongole and in steack pasta. Let steack was a skewer. And the pasta no shells but hyper shrimp with tagine cheap inedible!! It was burning! The least thing is to warn the client especially when Mr. is allergic to shrimp and Madam can not eat spices. Very poor communication. It would be nice to respect the client's choice and adapt to it as well as possible

Neighborhood Feel Overcomes Pedestrian Menu

By David S |

In reading reviews and people-watching at the restaurant, felt like this was an "everyone knows your name" kind of place and perhaps got better service and a little more topspin on the food. I was from out of town and probably on the upper end of the target demo, but sharing a pizza oven with my neighbor, I truly have a feel for good pizza and pasta. Found the menu to be a bit un-exciting, and the pizza's didn't have that wood-fired taste to it. Ingredients were good, but overall, didn't give me the pop I've had at A16. Wine list was limited and just didn't motivate to have more drinks. I think they could do better.

Air of freshness

By Odia |

Went for a late lunch on a tuesday afternoon with friends... we had pizzas and beer... they have some fabulous options in beer.... tested few before ordering ours...which was great... the pizzas were also good...enjoyed our food and drink... but what I liked most was the ambiance... feel of freshness... love to go back soon

Very nice surprise for this casual chic Italian restaurant

By cavaglia s |

Very good restaurant, the dishes are hearty and almost all under $20 which seems not very high for San Francisco The atmosphere and nice and the setting also. The servers are very friendly and we were served very quickly despite the large crowd I recommend this restaurant

Tasty pizza and great beer

By Greg Hilton |

Tasty pizza and great range of craft beers. Not the biggest food menu but very nice spicy fennel sausage pizza. 15 beers on draft with some nice IPAs I’ve not had before.

Great Italian diner!

By AmitMAgrawal |

We were 6 of us and found Delarosa thro Trip Advisor. Was an amazing find, thouroughly enjoyed our evening! There was a 45 min wait as we had landed without reservation. The place was crowded including at 10.30 PM when we left. Seating is casual and place quite noisy but great atmosphere! The food was excellent with good choices for the 3 Vegetarians among us. The Pixza was particularly great, we had ordered a spicy pizza and to our delight it was genuinely spicy and quite enjoyable. Service was good in a very crowded place and that was an added joy!

A good pizza

By Marco L |

Good pizza, even if a bit 'Americanized and expensive for in our standard, still great dough... free water and very kind and fast waiters

Fab pizza with excellent vibe

By Chanelle_P |

We were drawn in by the intimate light and cool tunes playing, it's got a great feel to it. The cocktails were yummy and the hot salami pizza was incredible! Best pizza of our USA trip!! Totally recommend

Family friendly pizza place :)

By Heliana Mano |

What fun this place turned out to be. I reserved a table for 10 (8 adults and 2 kids aged 2 and 4) for July 4th. I was happy they took my reservation since it was very last minute. Britney was very nice and patient with us. Our waitress was as well an angel - I forgot her name though :( Between all of us we shared a bunch of pizzas and drinks: - classic cheese pizza for the kiddos was like I said - classic and solid option. - burrata pizza was delicious though my hubby didn't love it - sausage fennel was so good that we ordered 2 of them hahaha - hot salami was my top favorite along with the burrata. Really flavorful. Good stuff - We customised 2 veg pizzas which people were happy with - white wine was lovely and so was their IPA and Pils choices of beer - apple juice for kids was a great score too - phew! - finished strong with tiramisu, pannacotta and the lava cake. All delicious Highly recommend if you need a kid friendly place since they have high chairs and are patient with a large group, loud and undecided like we were. Would definitely come back but I need a long break from pizza because we overate so much :D

Fabulous neighborhood restaurant

By rj111 |

This is a must choose restaurant. Tasty northern italian, small plates Creative offerings Can be very crowded and loud after 6 Family atmosphere before 6:30 Shared tables Yummy food

This restaurant has it all My new favorite pizza restaurant

By Joe H |

This restaurant probably deserves a 5 rating but I reserve those for only the very best. But this restaurant is not far behind that rating - great pizza, salads, cocktails and service! What more can you ask for? Don't be shy about customizing your pizza, they're very accommodating. We will return.

Close to Shopping

By Arlene H |

The location, so close to the mall and Union Square, was perfect for us. Pizza and salad were fresh and delicious. Just the right meal for a busy shopping day.

Perfect spot, even more perfect Pizza

By MarlenaduToit |

We walked in, was given a cozy seat at one ot the long tables. Nice compact menu, Italian food! We shared chicken meatballs, baked aubergine with mozzarella& of. Ause Pizza! Perfect base, aromatic tomato base with burrata. Service was fast& effective& good news to one's wallet! Not to be missed!

Great pizza with trendy setting

By Jackie_R_7289 |

Delarosa has a great menu and something for everyone - vegetarians and meat eaters. The restaurant is usually quite busy, and seats customers in communal tables. While you can certainly hear other diners' conversations at times, you still have a good amount of room for all of your food and belongings. It's a trendy spot in the Marina with well-crafted cocktails and generally efficient service. Our favorites: - Eggplant caponatina, pine nut, caper, burrata - This has a nice mix of well-sauteed diced eggplant, olives, tomatoes and pine nut. The pile of burrata is placed in the middle of the bowl, and there's always enough to generously spread over the rest of the caponata. The creamy burrata mixes nicely with the lighter vegetables. - Broccolini, pepperoncini, garlic - This is simply spiced and sautéed but has a good heat to it! It's a good size serving of broccolini with pepperoncinis scattered throughout. - Fava bean bruschetta - Two good-sized pieces of bread made nicely crunchy without being too toasty. There's a good portion of fava beans on top. Again, good mix of flavors and spices. - Spicy marinara, pepperoncini, olives - For $11, this pizza feels like a steal. It's easily split between two or a full (very filling) meal for one. We never miss the cheese, as the sauce has such a strong heat to it and the crust is perfectly done! A great (and a bit lighter) option, but still with all of the satisfaction that pizza brings! - Molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream - Delarosa has good serving sizes and filling food, so a big dessert can be tough to squeeze after all that (this from a dessert queen!). Their molten chocolate is not one of the best ever, but they douse it in caramel and chocolate sauces, making it extra decadent. And who doesn't love the heat a molten chocolate cake brings? Served with a large scoop of vanilla, you can create the perfect chocolate/vanilla and hot/cold mix in every bite! This place was a go-to for us when we lived in the Marina!

Great Food, Great Atmosphere

By Vickie R |

Love this place. Have dined at the Yerba Buena location previously and was pleasantly surprised while I was on Chestnut Street that this came up in Yelp as closeby to where I was. Didn’t disappoint. Went twice in 2 weeks. Love the food, atmosphere and service. Service is quick and efficient, food is fresh, hot and tasty and atmosphere is fun and casual. Chestnut Street has a lot of great shopping so don’t miss this place or area while in San Fran. Open one in Philadelphia please?!

Fun vibe

By CFAtlanta |

Met two friends for a Thursday lunch while in the area. It's 1 block off the bus route and in a section of town with non-stop specialty restaurants and bakeries. Super fresh ingredients in the food and signature cocktails.

No Spaghetti in a so called "Italian restaurant2......

By 1scarbo |

I'm pretty sure that the owner of this restaurant never ever went to Italy. No Spaghetti at all available. Each Italian restaurant all over Europe provides a large range of Pasta. Spaghetti a la carbonara or Spaghetti a la puttanesca are an Italian standard. Because of the fact that only a small range of pasta was found on the card, we ordered Pizza. I don't know what kind of cheese they put on that Pizza...Horrible. They can cook good food but apparently they don't wanna prepare proper food. The chairs in the restaurant are not comfortable. Only heavy. Very frustrating .

Excellent choice even w a wait

By John A |

After a long day venturing all over the city, the 7 of us were hungry and thirsty searching for a mid p. m. meal. After finding parking in the Marina district, we used TA app for good haunts close, and Delarosa didn't disappoint. Entire staff was cordial even w the place being packed. Hostess, bartenders, everyone was nice and accommodating. Restrooms and restaurant was very clean. We were seated within 30 minutes, had drinks and appetizers in hand quickly. Within 10 minutes, our entrees were out hot and fresh. Quality of food was excellent and fresh. Our group ranged in ages from 9 years old to 70. Place was packed and festive. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back. Thanks Delarosa for providing this Midwest group with a positive experience!!

Casual pizza spot with a variety of appetizers

By Judy M |

We were greeted by the manager, who was very friendly and warm. Our server seemed knowledgeable about the menu and made recommendations about the most popular items, however, at 6pm on a Monday evening, they were sold out of 3 of the items we would have definitely ordered. We ordered meatballs and prawns for appetizers. Prawns were excellent in a light buttery sauce, meatballs were good too - served with bread. The waiter recommended the steak skewer - which we ordered, but then were told they were sold out of it. We opted for a pizza instead, and the waiter spoke with the kitchen about a customization of the pizza - which they did and we were very appreciative. However, as the pizza was delivered to our table, the waiter told us they had the steak skewer available again if we wanted to order it. ??? That was a disappointment, but the manager was very kind in her explanation, and all in all, our waiter was attentive. Good for a quick bite if you're in the area. They did have outdoor seating but it was a little too cool for that. Prices were moderate. Good place for families, friends, couples to have a casual lunch or dinner.

Wonderful lunch

By MoghaniALABAMA |

Delarosa has delicious food! Had a great salad with grilled scallops. It was busy lunchtime so we ate at bar and was so much fun! Lovely place for lunch!

Great pizza

By Eric E |

Another Chestnut St. gem. It is noisy and the seating is mostly communal. Menu is appetizers and pizza. Both are very good. Prices are very moderate. It is a fun place. You will get to know the folks seated next to you if you want to.

Great vibe, great pizza & pasta 🍕

By DAROHATH |

First night night in San Fran and we found this little place whilst walking along Chestnut St. Busiest place in the area, vibe seemed good, food smelled great✔️✔️✔️ We had a selection to share of the anti pasta, pizza & pasta. Food was yum, service was prompt....winning👌

Great Venue

By Daiana67 |

We had a lovely dinner on our first night in San Francisco We had crab arancini which were brilliant Steak spiedini delicious Cauliflower fritters great Topped all that off with a pizza and your local beer Anchor ale thank you Delarosa for a lovely welcome and All the staff were wonderful

Street side dining with dog; great food.

By Mugsy001 |

We stopped at Delarosa on our bikes after a long ride around San Francisco. Locked bikes on nearby bike stand and sat street side with our dog. We shared a beet salad, My wife enjoyed pappardelle w/napolitana sauce & I had Fennel Sausage pizza. I had a beer & my wife had a Salty Dog. We shared Molten chocolate cake w/vanilla gelato for dessert. Excellent food! Great service!

Best Pizza We’ve Ever Had

By Katie G |

My boyfriend and I went to Delarosa because they have some gluten-free and vegan options for me and we both ordered our own pizzas. He said that their margarita pizza with burrata cheese was hands down the best pizza he’s ever had and I got the spicy marinara with vegan cheese and gluten-free crust and that was the best vegan gf pizza I’ve ever had. We HIGHLY recommend if you’re in the mood for pizza!

Nice Brunch Spot

By Peter H |

Was in town visiting some friends and we stopped here for lunch. Seating here is open with larger shared tables. Pros: -nice open windows to enjoy a beautiful day -adequate drink selection with a good list of beers -very tasty roasted brussel sprouts (appetizer) -ham panini wasn't too heavy Cons: -veggie panini was a little light I would recommend trying it out.

good selections

By KBcalifornia |

We sat outside, under heat lamp, as very noisey inside. Service was very good. Was pleased to see a gluten-free menu. All our selections were satisfying except for the tomato salad. Tomatoes were too ripe. Next time, would order the smaller salads, as large salad is entrée size. Ended up too much food.

Great italian style food

By pip0m0l0 |

We went there with family today and the food is perfect. Pizzas, pastas and also quality of service. Recommended

good Food, Small place

By AnandCAV |

The food was very good. It is a cozy place but service is great and you can be in and out quickly. We liked the vegetarian food we ordered and our waitress was very attentive.

Pleasant Surprise

By Charleston29412 |

Food was great! Tanya excellent! Going back tonite with friends. We had the panini vegetable with homemade chips - zucchini, tomatoes, goat cheese - the best.

Just awesome

By DD19351 |

This place has some great food, amazing service and just all around a cool place. I will go back every time I am in town.

Great pizza and beer

By smash_cat |

Seven of us went out for dinner last Saturday night and luckily we didn't have to wait long for a table. I had the margherita with burrata pizza and it was delicious. I paired it with a pint of Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. I like a light pizza. As long as you don't mind communal dining tables this place is bustling with a great atmosphere.

Great Pizza!

By alexaf1 |

What a great pizza spot! Incredible food and a really nice open space which makes it beautiful for a sunny day. It was the first place we ate after landing in San Francisco and the pizza was talked about all trip! The service could have been a bit better- after we ate it took half an hour to get our bill, but that is the only complaint.

This restaurant does not disappoint!

By bklynguy |

Amazing thin crust pizza, pannini's, spiedni, salads and pasta. Nice wine menu. We went back twice and was able to sit outside on the sidewalk (Chestnut St location.) A must when in San Francisco!

Quick Lunch Spot

By Sinara |

The food at Delarosa was definitely delicious. We got the crispy asparagus with aioli as an appetizer which was super, the red and gold beet salad which was pretty good, and the artichoke ham pizza which was also good. The food was served fairly fast, so its a good spot if you don’t have much time to spare. However the menu, in my opinion, did not offer many options. I felt like there was a limited selection of dishes, but whatever we got was tasty. Overall rating (3.5/5)

Very expensive but decent food

By William M |

Small portions, very expensive. Good pasta dishes but so costly that I just can’t recommend it. Always busy with techies and hipsters and not a place the locals go to very often.

Wonderful

By MeredithShah |

We had the kale salad and pizza. Great atmosphere. Wonderful service. Delicious food. Can’t ask for more!

Late night pizza spot

By Mayur S |

Typical Roman-style thin, crispy wood-fired pizza. There are classic flavours - margherita with burrata and elaborate options, like clams, marinara, chorizo, pecorino romano, garlic, chili flake, sofrito and vegan cheese. Open daily from 11am to midnight.

Great tho. Crust Pizza.

By Mae4545 |

We loved the pizza! The spicy oil with the Coppa and hot salami was excellent. We also had the dungeoness crab aroncinni was the best! We ate here a few times. Great drinks, too! Very, very efficient and friendly staff! Very clean establishment! Highly recommend. There is outside seating as well! One of the best pizzas I have had! They need to bottle their spicy oil and sell it! Weekday happy hour 4-6 pm

Not for the food. Drinks yes.

By Henry I |

The food runs a distant second to the drink scene. Average to bland cuisine, served without much attention. Go here for drinks and if you are hungry, order a bit of something. High stools at high tables- beyond 'communal' tables- the entire place is played out as a very large- and crowded bar.

Very tasty

By Kathleen T |

I had the dungeness crab linguine. It was wonderful, not too heavy on the garlic, just the right amount. We had lunch, so the portions were perfect. One of my dining partners had chicken parmesan and gave it good reviews. The other guest had a pappardelle Napolitano and said it was very good. Our server was very friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place when visit the SFO.

Wonderful pizza

By Egas11 |

The restaurant is quite nice, pizzas are awsome. We loved the Margherita! It is a must go in San Francisco! We recommend

One of the best pizzas we've had!

By Kristin B |

Grateful we stumbled upon this gem! Both the food and service were exceptional! Their menu is quite unique. It truly is a contemporary spin on traditional foods. We started with the parmigiana of eggplant, which was absolutely delicious. The mushroom (funghi misti) pizza was probably one of the best I've ever had. It had a variety of mushrooms, tomatoes, fontina, and thyme. If you're in the mood for Italian or pizza I would definitely make sure you try Delarosa!

Great place. Helpful stafd

By ImmortanJoe |

We arrived here late with our hungry kids aged 6 and 9. Our boy had a mild form of autism (aspergers) and gets very anxious in noisy places. We asked a very helpful member of staff called Christina if it was ok to take an outside table because of our son and she was totally cool with it. No hassles at all. The food was great, two pizzas for the kids. A steak dish that was awesome and a fantastic risotto for us. We also had some wine and a great cocktail each. The waiter who’s name we missed was also great. Thanks so much. If we make it back to SF we’ll be going back to Delarosa

unfriendly and rude

By Stewartfr |

The staff simply asked us to leave because we had a baby in a pram. I would have been happy to leave a good tip instead of a bad review. too bad. My advice: families stay away.

Amazing Pizza, Awful Service

By Esha |

One of the restaurants we end up eating at repeatedly inspite of the terrible service because the pizza is just that good. The burrata pizza is a must try!

More bad than good

By KennyMacD |

Busy and trendy pizza joint in a lively part of town. Got a table quickly and the waiter brought a jug of water. All good so far. That's when it began to slide. We ordered a pizza and a salad to share. The pizza arrived and we were asked if we were all good. That salad? Waiter said "my bad". We'd ordered two things and he'd forgotten one of them. The pizza itself was lukewarm bordering on cold. By the time the salad came we'd finished the pizza so sent it back - the server grunted "I'll get your waiter." Good beer selection but a dismal experience overall.

Great food fun atmosphere

By GeorgiaTravelz |

Great little Italian restaurant right in Union Square. Fun atmosphere, as long as you don't mind a little noise. Wonderful chicken Parmesan and great pizza Combine that with great service and reasonable prices and you have a great place to visit Drink prices are a little higher than the average in the area but it's worth eating here

Close to San Francisco Marina

By NapiliR |

Good choice if you're docked at the San Francisco Marina as it's in easy walking distance. Really liked my the chicken parmesan. Pizzas are very good. Short wait at 6 PM on a Saturday night, but be aware seating is communal.

Excellent Pizza, Great Service

By JillClardy |

My daughter treated me to my birthday lunch at Delarosa and it was a very enjoyable meal. We sat at the bar, and the bar tender took our order and offered very nice service. We shared a burrata toast starter which was so delicious and filling that I could have made a meal out of that and a side salad. We then had the red and golden beet kale salad. While quite fresh and pretty, it was rather bland. The dressing seemed to be just oil with no vinegar added. A little tartness would have been nice. Then we shared the potato, proscuitto, provolone pizza which was divine. I love the airy, bubbly crust. I'm sure we'll be back for another meal ! The restaurant is quite popular and was busy with couples and many families with children on a Saturday, but since we chose to sit at the bar we didn't have to wait.

Yummy Pizza!

By Ida W |

The margherita pizza with burrata was super delicious! Next time I'd order it easy on the sauce and ask for more basil leaves. Husband likes it too even though it didn't have meat 😊

Positive surprise

By Keivan Z |

I had the whole trip to SF planned, except for the first evening. We thought we will go for a stroll and grab a bite to eat. It was late and our expectations were low. I have to say it was a real delight to visit Delarosa. Wonderful food!

Neighborhood staple

By Jim K |

We discovered Delarosa several years ago and have been enjoying their food and vibe everytime we are in San Francisco. The service from all staff is excellent. They will answer questions, make suggestions, and really make you feel at home. The food is always fresh and delicious. We had the Margharita with Burrata cheese pizza, the Hot Salami pizza, and a delicious salad. This restaurant never disappoints, you should really give it a try... you won't regret it.

Good Food

By Adam |

A good and enjoyable meal with attentive staff. However, the shared tables were very small. It was at times very loud being sat very close to couples either side of you.

YES!!!

By shann0nd0herty |

Definitely get a pizza. The cocktails are great and they have a great beer selection. The server can guide you if you are unsure. Just go because you will not be disappointed.

Best pizza

By margaret n |

Love this place make sure we visit at least twice whilst in San Francisco food is always good Love the pizza but also the cauliflower with chilli its amazing along with the Dungeness Crab Arrincini balls ,Good coffee to finish Friendly service and a must visit in my opinion

Quick and tasty pizza!

By tekphilly |

Went in for a quick dinner and was shocked by how quick the food came out! Started with the calamari (fantastic!) and then had the spicy sausage pizza. It was very good. I would definitely go back and try some of the other pizzas they offer.

Great Italian food

By bucks17 |

Went here with colleagues after a drinks event nearby. They were able to seat 12 of us quickly (at side by side tables) which was great as it's small and we got there at a peak time for dinner. Meatballs, brussell sprouts and pizza were all delicious. Good service.

Don't go if you're a party of 1

By Felicia D |

I got seated quickly. Host was nice. Plenty of servers passed me, but no one even looked. I had sent the signal I was ready by pushing my menu to the side, but still, no one stopped. I felt like the Dr. Seuss book, only instead of "Are you my Mother?" it was "Are you my Server?" I finally placed my order with a guy who looked surprised to see me even sitting there. (I was at the community table, by the way, smack in the middle of the dining room.) I ordered 2 appetizers: meatballs and cauliflower. A nice woman brought them both, and also returned quickly with salt (after I asked for some.) Actually, I didn't need the salt. Both of these dishes were VERY delicious. That's the only reason I rated this a 3. Then it took about 15 minutes and 4 different requests from 4 different people to get my check. It was only when I got up and appeared to be leaving (when in fact, I was at the host stand to get a menu so I could just pay cash and leave!) that a server came running up to me (then I get the attention!) and acted like he was afraid I was leaving. After he returned with the check, I did something I've never done in my entire life. I put a big fat ZERO for the tip. Shocked, he was and said something about the tip. I said, "Who should I give a tip to? The person who never checked back on me? The one who never asked if I wanted to take any home? Or any of the FOUR servers I had to ask for the check?" I'd probably go back if I had someone else to even out the importance, but then again, I think of all the other restaurants that don't act like a solo woman isn't going to tip, and I think I'll patronize them instead.

Fun communal eatery and delicious food!

By Ballardgal50 |

Seating here is very communal...which is nice as there is little waiting and you get to see what others are eating before you order! :) Drinks were interesting and yummy and both our pizzas and appetizers were delicious!

Fathers Day weekend

By VickiDennis |

Excellent food. Kale Caesar salad, mussels, eggplant and crab stuffed arancina balls. OMG. Cabernet was great and the service was excellent. We sat at the bar. Busy place.

Delicious pizza, tedious crowd

By bschoolbound |

Every time I sit at Delarosa, I'm amazed by the terrible, vapid conversations happening around me. That said, the pizza is SO yummy and very reasonably priced for SF. I highly recommend takeout.

Crowdy place, nice pizza

By Balazs1981 |

We tried the impossible, to eat good on saturday evening in SF dowtown. We ended up in delarosa, wher the crowd was huge, but the atmosphere seemed really good. We decided to wait in the bar, where quite a lot beers you have on tap, and good cocktails as well. The seating area contains 3-4 two seated and 3 multpiple seated desk. So be prepared to share the experience:) the food: we took calamari fritti which was fresh and delicious and a marghareta pizza with burrata. Thin crust, oven baked in front of you:) minus point goes for not having standars wine glass, but the Napa Valley Cabernet sauvignon (can't recall the winery) is a 10 point one:) once again, don't expect anything exceptional, but alltogether a vibrant place with good food!

Great pizza

By Nicolas Z |

This is a fantastic pizza place in the heart of the Marina district. If you are stuck at a conference downtown, do yourself a favour and jump into a taxi to Chestnut Street in the Marina district to see the nice side of San Francisco. Lots of nice restaurants and bars, including this great pizza place. Service was fantastic and my pizza was very tasty.

Great Italian food including but not limited to pizza

By Paul O |

We were looking for a Monday lunchtime pizza place before we left for the airport, and remembered how full this restaurant had been on the Saturday night when we arrived in San Francisco. Prompt service, great selection of beers and the food menu was so varied not just pizza! We ordered Crispy fried Taggliolini dumplings and a pizza which arrived promptly with the pizza being from their Wood fired oven. Delicious! No wonder with such a awesome menu that they were so full when we first saw this restaurant!

We eat here every time we visit SF!!

By happytrails7777 |

Fourth visit. They still make a great Manhattan! Excellent chicory salad, terrific margherita pizza with creamy burrata and tasty meat balls in marinara. It's a short walk from Inn at the Presidio. It's a bit loud, so we always come early-ish to avoid the crowd. They are welcoming at the door and servers are always fun and efficient.

Best meal we had in San Francisco

By Brett G |

I visited with my wife and 11yr old daughter for dinner. Amazing house made pastas and pizza coupled with clever seasonal salads. Family friendly with communal seating and a very well stocked bar. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable and the atmosphere was buzzing. It was a little crowded but that just demonstrates the popularity of the place.

Back for a second time

By Jim K |

We found Delarosa the last time we were in San Francisco and wanted to return. We again ordered the pizzas Margherita and Funghi Misti...both excellent. The restaurant menu lends itself to sharing, so next time we will order several different items and share. We really enjoy this restaurant in the marina. You won't be disappointed.

Loved the grilled steak salad.

By mceast67 |

Arrived in the city late on a Monday...and stopped by Delarosas in the Marina district. Had a great glass of wine while waiting for my grilled steak salad to be prepared. The bartender was terrific and wrapped the meal to go. I was able to enjoy a first rate meal back at my place for a reasonable price.

Great food!

By Julia Simões |

One of the only options in the area open after 8pm, I am glad I found Delarosa! I had the kale salad and a procciutto pizza, both were amazing.

Good food, casual dining

By cpniner |

Food is very good. The server was prompt, knowledgeable, professional. Good drinks. Enjoyed the arugula salad, well seasoned. Entrees were delicious.

The flavors ... the flavors!!

By mackanna |

It is evident the chefs really know what's going on because all the food here is terrific. The wait staff is cheerful (at least the bartender is). Outdoor seating is great. Nice location.

Great Vibe, Awesome Pizza!

By FoodGuru914 |

This restaurant is located in the Marina district. I highly recommend sitting outside if available! The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and professional. The pizza is thin crusted, and truly off the charts. The pasta portions are a little small, but is still fantastic. You can go to Delarosa as a family, or with friends. I promise it will not disappoint!

Never disappointing, always makes us want to come back again!

By YunitaTHollinger |

Delarosa is a staple in the Marina neighborhood. Many restaurants come and go in this trendy neighborhood, but Delarosa has not only able to survive, but thriving too...this restaurant always packed during brunch, lunch, and dinner time. Every time we come here, the foods and their cocktails never disappoint us. It offers your usual suspects of comfort Italian foods, in a casual atmosphere with a modern touch. Just remember to make your reservation if you want to come on peak hour, also it's quite noisy, so if you can't handle it, maybe choose a less busy hour. Th Il Diavolo (tequila, crème de cassis, ginger, agave, lime) and their burrata bruschetta, hazelnut & honey is a MUST have.

Great drinks and super fantastic food

By Alicia C |

Love the pizza and the cocktails! Came here a couple times and always grab a seat at the bar and just let the bartenders go to town and make really good drinks and grab some eats. The pizza crust is yummy! Love the choices. The vibe is fun and electric on the weekend nights.

Hipster, loud, and just ok

By Melinda S |

The restaurant is decorated in modern decor, open, and light. But, the seating area is very loud. It was difficult to carry on a conversation with the person across the table from me. But the restaurant was full. Food was good. Nothing special.

Quality neighborhood

By jgieske |

We visited this neighborhood Italian with friends from the "hood". Everyone seemed to know everyone. The menu was filled with local and seasonal opportunities and the wait staff knew the products VERY well. There were no disappointments. Our hosts, regulars, brought their own Barolo, and the waitress got some too. Service was well informed and attentive. We were ages 12 to 78! There was something for everyone. I had a squid ink pasta with cuttlefish that was memorable after tiny heirloom tomatoes in a salad. This is a gourmet place disguised as a neighborhood Italian. Go!

☺️👯🍕

By Ms_KiraLeigh |

Morgan, the hostess, was lovely and accommodating. Our waitress was very helpful with navigating the menu. The manager was very kind and nice, as well. Pizza was delicious. Great experience. Thank You!

Great food Not heavy or greasy but really delicious. We are there 3 times. Had small plates. Service was great. Wish I could go more often.

We loved the pasta.

We loved the food. Past was cooked to perfection. I had linguine with clams. White prawn starter was delicious. Brilliant customer service.

That was good pizza

We had a nice lunch with a bunch of family. Even though we were an unwieldy group, the servers were helpful and unfazed. I would happily return if I find myself in the neighborhood again.

Nice family meal

Our family was looking for a fun Italian meal when visiting the City. With a toddler and infant, we weren't sure how many places would work out. Delarosa was great - we had quick service, great food (Prosciutto pizza, meatballs, and polenta). With two young kids, I didn't feel out of place or forced to feel bad.
