.... but he ate most of it before he realised. Seriously though went to Delfino's on the recommendation of our ex Pat host, ves it was a fair mix of nationallities on business in Seattle, super pies, massive servings and a typical student atmosphere which was loud and vibrant, we had to que for a table for four but the wait was short, the only problem we had was the language barrier, our combined accents left our server wondering if he'd need a translator, but we managed. Couldn't fault the food - well I could but it wasn't the foods fault - my pie came with Artichokes instead of Anchovies - they look the same right?? anyway I didn't notice untill the end, anyway it kept the others ammused for days. I highly recomment this place for a great fun night out with good friends. Note - parking can be dificult so leave some time to cruise the lot, worth the effort though.

YUM!!!!!!!!

By S_Robbie014 |

This is by far some of the greatest deep dish pizza I have ever had. Come hungry and get ready to leave with lots of left overs - and we get a medium pizza! Nice atmosphere and friendly wait staff. A pie will run you about $25, but well worth it. I recommend stopping by if you are up in U-Village and maybe follow up your meal with a chaser of coffee from the nearby Starbucks.

Best Pizza west of Chicago!!!

By Pieperk |

Absolutely love the stuffed pizza. It is made in true Chicago style. Our personal favorite is stuffed spinach--takes about 35 minutes to make but, worth every second of the wait.. The best pizza place in Seattle and we have tried almost all of them! Have a back room for larger groups. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a truely great pizza--this is the place! They also sell slices for lunch if you are in a hurry.

Best Pizza Ever!

By iloveromance |

Everyone says that Pagliacci's is the best pizza in Seattle and it's reflected in their constant winning of polls, but they have NOTHING on this place! Defino's is absolutely amazing! I normally only like thin crust pizza which they do have, but occasionally it's nice to splurge on their deep dish. The crust is just incredible, almost like a pastry and my only regret about this place is that they don't have calzones. But that aside, waiting 25-30 minutes for deep dish pizza is SO worth it! The place is small by appearance, tucked in the corner of University Village, next to the towering Room and Board store, so you could miss it if you aren't looking for it and that's fine with me. The service has always been good; not outstanding, but never bad or slow at all. The front dining room, as I mentioned before is small but there is a room in the back for additional seating and the place makes you feel like you're in Chicago, because it's decked out with Chicago decor. Even the water dish out front for pets has a Chicago Cubs theme. They have pastas, sandwiches and salads on the menu as well which we haven't tried but I really want to. So if you're looking for something different, give this place a shot. You'll be glad you did.

Soggy and dull and I don't mean the weather

By P&ZH |

We ordered their version of a beef dip. The bun was soggy and the au jus had slightly more flavour and colour than hot water. Don't look up while waiting for you meal because you will notice how filthy the ceiling is. There was water dripping on me in the washroom through the drywall in the ceiling. I almost suggested to the excellent waitress that she could find a better job anywhere else.

Seattle shopping trip

Probably one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Great service, friendly staff! If I’m back in this area again, I will definitely be back!

Delicious Pizza!

By Alice F |

We recently ate at Delfino's Chicago Style Pizza for the first time. The pizza was delicious and very hearty; we skipped dinner as we were still full, even with a small sized pizza. The menu is expansive but we chose the Delfino's Special which has sausage, fresh mushrooms, sauteed onions, green peppers, and loads of mozzarella cheese. We'll be back!

Best deep dish pizza in the state

By dashing_pilot |

I have had deep dish pizza all over Washington state. This is by far the best. They get the right mixture of cheese and toppings. The crust is deep dish but not just a big loaf of bread. I highly recommend the Meaty Masterpiece. It is truly just that.

Incredible Pizza

By hellomoto88 |

We are from the Boston area and are a bit snobbish about pizza. We stumbled on this place while in the University Village because the waits at a few other places were very long. Our expectations were not that high. And boy, were we blown away. Some of the best pizza we have ever eaten, anywhere. Get the deep dish, it's worth the 30 min wait for it to cook. Go hungry, it's filling!!!!

Quick pizza, could be better

By Mitch_K2012 |

Dropped in here on a Friday night because every other restaurant was packed, and now I know why. The pizza choices were standard but the thin crust pizza was more like a cracker. Lots of young wait staff but still slow. Not like likely to repeat.

Delfino's= delicious!

By Amie L |

Delfino's deep dish pizza makes you wish every pizza was deep dish style! We usually order the stuffed Delfino's Deluxe, takes about 30 minutes to bake up but it is worth the wait. They also have take home pizza options and slices for lunch. One of the best places to eat in the University Village shopping area too! Enjoy some of the best around.

Good pizza...

By filkfam |

Went here with some time to kill based on TA reviews...pizza was actually quite good. The atmosphere is not great, but to be expected in the middle of a shopping center. While I didn't have a problem with the food prices, the beer prices were astronomical -totally out of line with any other pizza place I've ever been to. Probably why we were the only ones in the place drinking beer...and why the Stella was flat, must have been an old and rarely-used keg.

A Little out of the way but worth the trip

By mfcdvm |

I'm from the mid-west and love Chicago style pizza. While Delfino's is no Lou Malnati's, all things considered they do an excellent job.

Excellent stuffed Pizza in a unique setting

By Kirk A |

Seattle has a lot of great neighbor hoos and the University Village is definitely one of them. I've been a fan of Chicago stuffed pizza since hitting Pizza Uno in Chi-town. What I really like about Definos is that althoigh this is a deep dish pizza with a top crust and tomato sauce on top of that, the crusts are easily cuttable with a fork, the totato sauce bases are robust, I took as pie home ot north Seattle and it was still warm 25 minutes later. I am by myself doe a medium served me four times. Great combination quantities of ingredients. I did the meat thing as that is what I remember from Pizza Uno. Their veggie pies looked just as good

Almost Great

By yaser z |

The attention was excellent , I have to start with that. We had a decent Sze group (12) and we were accommodated swiftly. They were prepared and brought bread quickly and often. When the main course came, there were mixed reactions. In my case the Spaghetti marinara was great but, I decided to add chicken and although I ate it all, the chicken was fatty. It wasn't lean and everyone noticed. Even though the experience wasn't perfect, the effort was obvious to take care of us. Definitely will give it another chance.

Still great after all these years!

If you are looking for a place with consistent high quality food, this is the place for you. We first went to Delfino's when we were moving our youngest son into his dorm at UW. That was in 1996. We have been back off and on over the years as opportunities presented themselves. Just recently went back with that same "youngest" son and had a delightful lunch. I had the meatball sandwich and it was probably the best I have ever had. So fresh tasting. Youngest son had their special pizza of the day, by the slice and ended up getting two pieces, it was so good. They are known for their deep dish pies which are wonderful.. It does take time to prepare the pizza, but they let you know that right up front. Depending on the type, it can take up to 30 minutes...great time for conversation and chillin'!! The dilemma now is do we go to Delfino's or Elemental (another good pizza place in U Village). It just depends on the style of pizza your taste buds desire at the moment! I would put the ambience at Delfino's above that of Elemental. A little more quiet and not so much hustle and bustle. Either way, have fun and enjoy!

Excellent customer service

By El_Hombre_del_Hierro |

Their pizza was pretty good-really have to leave room in the rating for truly excellent pizza, but we arrived on a Saturday near the end of the lunch rush, were seated immediately and had our food AND beverages within three minutes. Completely energetic and pleasant staff on a warm, sunny Seattle day. Nice work!

Really good deep-dish pizza.

By Ann H |

We always do take-out. The sitting area is not really appealing. However, the pizza in great. We love the stuffed spinach pizza. The crust is really tasty, and the sauce, spinach and cheese are delicious. The staff are very pleasant, and the pizza is always ready on time.

Our new favorite Pizza!

By iluvyak |

Max the server gave us a greeting so hearty that we seriously thought he was the owner of the place. Then when we got our stuffed Chicago style pizza, we knew we had found something good. The sauce is a little sweet, full bodied and packed with flavor. The cheese was so plentiful it oozed out onto the plate. And the crust is tender and full of "fresh bread" taste. Loved the pizza oven right in the center where you can see and smell it. Loved the atmosphere of the cooks and patrons -- everyone was happy. Very clean and bright inside, too. We will be back!

Couldn't get enough!

By Mooliday |

Went there by chance and was told to wait for 45mins if we chose deep dish - absolutely worth waiting. We ordered deep dish pizza with Eric's Meaty Masterpiece and a thin C.B.R. Pizza. All of us couldn't stop eating and the deep dish was filled with delicious mozzarella cheese while C.B.D. thin pizza's house dressing was delicious!!! Wanted to eat again before leaving Seattle but didn't have time to do so, wished we had the time to go back again.

Deep Dish to Die For

By 1VacationSeeker |

Takes 30 minutes for a deep dish mini pizza to make but well worth the wait. Great food, friendly staff. Good place for lunch.

A True Chicago Stuffed Pizza

By Larry K |

One bite of the stuffed sausage and mushroom pizza brought back memories of a true Chicago pizza we are so familiar with. We were not disappointed and recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a true Chicago Stuffed pizza. It was a 120 mile drive (one way) from Quilcene and it was well worth it.

Can't tell you about the Pizza...but

By XManNL |

I can tell you I had the linguine in Marinara w/ meatballs. Just what I wanted. Served piping hot. Your basic pasta...you should never serve bad pasta! BUT...I had meatballs added and thought there were supposed to be 3 when I was served 2. I asked the waitress who said she thought it was only supposed to be 2...but would check. Next thing I know a manager type comes over w/ a bowl w/ 2 additional meatballs (on the house) thinking they had shorted me one, when it was really my error (the 2 meatballs are a $3 add on...thus the 3 was stuck in my head)! And with that very nice gesture...they've made me a fan and I want to go back and try the pizza!!!

Can't Miss Chicago Pizza

By Stephen S |

Wow. Just Wow! I finally was able to take my family to real Chicago pizza and Delfino's didn't disappoint We had a great time here and the staff was superb. I recommend sitting in the back room which is much more comfortable than the front as the oven upfront does warm the room too much,

Not enough topping with too much bread.

Chicago Style!

By crabsign |

First time we tried a Chicago style pizza meaning deep dish pan pizza. We only ate 2 slices each - the pizza was so heavy and very doughie - we ordered the Delfinos Deluxe. Seemed like it wasnt thoroughly cooked through - we were not sure what to expect. We took the remainder to go but I dont think we'll be going back to try it again. Overall atmosphere is ok it's not upscale but rather homely. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Taste like frozen pizza in a box!

By Gratitude B |

I feel bad leaving a poor review...but it really was that poor quality. For the $$ it tasted like a frozen pizza you buy from your local grocery store that you cook in a microwave. I had the thin pizza and my husband ordered there Chicago deep dish....we've been to Chicago and it is nothing like a Chicago deep dish pizza! The crust was dry and tasteless...no sauce really...cheese was ok... Service was very good....just we wouldn't return.

TERRIBLE!

By BlueEyeTours |

Lured in by single slices of pizza, once seated we were told that we couldn't get single slices of pizza after 2:00. So we both had tortellini. The worst ever. The meatballs we added were bad as well. The plain bread was the best food we had and that wasn't special at all. And then the price was sky high! The server was a sweetheart however, but not enough of a reason to ever return.

Great deep dish Chicago style pizza.

By Erik W |

Great pizza!! We had the Delfino's Deluxe (sausage, pepperoni, mixed peppers, and black olives) and CBR (Chicago chicken-bacon-ranch) and both were tasty, loaded with toppings, and filling. I've never been to Chicago but this pizza makes me want to go there to try the real thing! We were there on a Sunday night about an hour before closing and the place wasn't busy at all, so we had no trouble finding a table for six.

Summer in Seattle

By John A |

Service was so friendly and efficient. Very atuned to the customer. There was no wait but not sure if that was common. People were coming in to pick up to go meals. They also have prepared pizza to take home to cook yourself. The food was excellent. True chicago style. Sandwiches and pizza was perfect.

Yummy......

By 1991KEB |

Delicious food! We had a great lunch during a busy day. The location is perfect in the middle of a busy shopping area. I had the tomato basil soup with brad that was the bet soup for a cold day, wonderful. The Chicken Parmesan sandwich was killer. My husband enjoyed every bite. The Chicago style pizza, the daily special was also a good choice. the service was a bit slow and I had to go and ask for my check but the food couldn't be beat.

Very Good Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza

By ebcnaz |

We had the Eric’s which was some of the best pizza we have ever had. It takes a while to make so get a beer and find something to talk about or play with your handheld.

Excellent pizza

By Erica A |

I still can't stop thinking about our delicious deep dish meat pizza. We stopped in on our way home from Seattle, knowing this was THE pizza place to visit. The pizza was fresh, hot, made with the best homemade sauce and finest ingredients I've had. The service was good, the restaurant clean, and hearing the kitchen staff speak to each other in Italian was simply the best. Keep up the great job!

Worst Service Ever

By dreamongal |

Last Friday I wanted to treat my grandchildren to lunch on the last day of summer vacation. We chose Delfino's at University Village. As we watched other people being seated, served, enjoyed their meal and left, we were still waiting for our food! Over 25 minutes for: One very lukewarm, dry Italian beef sandwich, small Ceasar salad, one pizza by the slice, and one appetizer order of pizza bread. No drinks, just water, and $37 later we left. I knew it would ruin our little lunch if we just got up and left instead of waiting so long, but if I didn't have the girls with, I certainly would have!

A+++ Chicago syle

By LaiLaiGirl |

Having just gone to Chicago, I know what a great Chicago deep dish pizza tastes like. Delfino's is as close to the real thing as far as I can taste. We ordered the Delfino's Deluxe. It was not too saucy, and the pepperoni and sausage were not too salty, overseasoned or overcooked. Seattlites are lucky to have Delfino's in their hometown!

Great casual pizza spot.

By sdrath |

Great casual pizza spot. We had pizza by the slice and enjoyed both the thin crust and the Chicago Stuffed. Great quick bite.

AWESOME PIZZA

By ramon131313 |

My son and I went on september 18 to Delfinos Pizza during our vacations. There we had a great time, the service was really good and the Chicago Style Pizza was really Awesome. We order a chicken and pepperni pizza, the taste was really good and they have really good prices. Reccomended 100%

Authentic Chicago-style Pizza

By TheBigTrain |

The deep dish and stuffed pizzas are worth the wait. The ingredients are fresh and the pizza will take you back to Chicago. Outstanding! Wish there were more locations around the city.

Not Chicago... but decent...

By Steven G |

I love Chicago pizza, Uno, Giordanos, etc. Delfino's is not one of the them. But, for Seattle, it is a decent take on it. The pies are... small, and pricey, as compared to what I remember from Chicago. But if you don't want to have to order frozen and wate for the FedEx guy, Delfino's is certainly decent.

As close to Chicago Style Pizza as you can get in Seattle

By jhgough |

When my wife and I moved from Chicago, this is the one food item we missed the most. Delfino's is about as close Chicago Style Pizza as you can get in Seattle. Not quite perfected but not bad for 2000 miles away. Get the stuffed spinach.

Deep Dish Pizza

By Cantikspabrunei |

I dont know how Chicago pizza taste like, but I like the dip dish pizza. And we had their soup, they were nice and delicious. Their price are reasonable too with good service and nice ambience. We didnt order Beef Dip so I wouldnt know how to.comment on that. But we enjoyed our meal.

Delish deep dish pizza

By WestCoastChick604 |

Strolling through UVillage we followed the scent of fresh-baked pizza to this place tucked away in a corner. We had never tasted Chicago-style deep-dish before so we ordered a 6" (mini size is 4 slices) with 2 toppings for $13. It takes 25 minutes to bake but wow, was it good. The crust is crispy and almost has a pastry-like texture. Served piping hot with lots of cheese and good tomato sauce, it was really delish. Note: be patient with your server as I think Delfino's hires students (ours seemed a bit nervous and a little unorganized).

Best deep dish in Seattle!

By Adriana M |

Every time we visit Seattle we have to stop by, it's a must! Best deep dish, takes about 30-40 minutes for it to be ready, they also sell it frozen to take home. Seating is limited, beautiful location at the University Village mall.

They make you wait for 45 min and they say we forgot to enter your order!! don't go!!

By Alienshellfish |

I had tried the Delfino's food truck in SLU truck and had an awesome experience. The restaurant was such a disappointment. I understand the pizza takes 30 min to prepare. After placing the order and waiting for 45 min, the waitress comes and tells us I FORGOT TO ENTER YOUR ORDER IN THE SYSTEM!!! Can you believe it! There were like 4 customers in the restaurant. More staff than customers and you mess up an order!?!?! arghhhh!

SO GOOD!!!

By Kristen C |

We love ordering take-out from here. The Chicago deep dish is delicious and keeps us coming back for more. A bit pricey but worth it and what you’d expect for good quality in a busy city.

I guess I just don't love Chicago style pizza

By IWillNotMinceWords |

The restaurant is pretty tiny and feels quite crowded when the tables are full. It took a little bit for the waitress to come take our drink order, but I guess it was crowded - for a tiny room. We ordered and then waited a bit for our salads which were good - and then waited FOREVER it seemed for our main course to arrive. The pizza was okay. I'm not familiar with Chicago style pizza, but honestly, it just seemed like a vat of tomato sauce had been poured into a pie crust. I wasn't really impressed. My daughter's Rainbow Cheese Tortellini arrived about that time - and they'd given her spaghetti noodles with sauce poured over the top. ??! Uh no, so that had to be sent back and she had to wait even longer until the correct meal arrived. She said it was okay, but wasn't impressed. She's at the UW and had been craving Tortellini from a restaurant near home. This was kind of a disappointment for her, but passable. Delfino's did comp us that mistake. Overall, the food was just okay and a bit overpriced from my point of view.

Fraud in a deep pan

By diderot19 |

You, dear reader, may be a native son or daughter of the Great Northwest. You may even be a descendant of the original Scandinavians who settled in the area, and thus believe that creamed mackerel and boiled potatoes constitute a daring taste treat. If so, this review is not for you. To say that Delfino's offering in any way resembles true Chicago deep dish is akin to equating sweet rolls with sweetbreads. This is cynical marketing at its worst...an affront to reality. Now, arguments will always erupt among Chicagoans as to what is the best. I am devoutly zealous in my argument for Pizzeria Uno, just off the Michigan Avenue. To me, the key is the crisp, oiled and secretly seasoned crust, which is alone worth the price of the pie. At Delfino's, the deep dish crust consists of flour. Just flour. Absurd. You will notice on their menu that the topping listed as 'sausage' is not modified with the word 'Italian'. So, it' different. Like sausage would be if it didn't have any flavor--which it doesn't. And as for the 'all natural tomato sauce'? Well, I can't really comment--since they didn't put any on my pizza. Absolutely absent. In the interest of full disclosure, I admit that I have actually visited Delfino's twice. The first was during a wind storm, and when we entered I discovered a listless staff sitting around various tables informing would-be customers that their power was off, and no food could be served. The second resulted in the flavorless pap described above. How I miss that first trip!

Great Chicago Style in Seattle

By SeattleMelanie |

Saw this place on a best of list somewhere... never even noticed it in the outdoor mall. No frills decor/inside, but the pizza was great and really reasonably priced for how much you get (under $35 for our Large pizza), great waiter and manager that came over to check on us. Does take a while, busy Friday night and those pizzas cook for a long time.. so expect that wait. Will go back!

Average Chicago style, but still best in Seattle

By Mike H |

This is only average quality Chicago pizza, but it is still the best in Seattle. The sauce is not flavorful, and the cheese is bland. But the toppings are good and the service friendly and competent.

Great Stuffed Pizza

By CrazyVikingSr |

A great choice in U Village. One of our group had lived in Chicago for several years and was craving deep dish done Chicago Style. We weren't let down. While he stated that it's not as good as the original (is it ever?), it was damn close! This was one of the dining options talked about for the remainder of the trip! We ordered "Smalls" for each of us individually, and were happy to be taking a slice or two home with us for later.

Favorite Chicago style pizza

By Avid_traveler0710 |

The best Chicago style pizza in the Seattle area. Convenient location by UW and in the Village shopping mall. After a day of shopping, we make a point to stop here. If you have time to wait 35 minutes for your pizza, it's definitely worth the wait.

Great Group Service

By Nancy O |

We had a family group event (15 people) here and I was really impressed with the service. I called a couple of days ahead to see if we could be accommodated and John, the manager, called back promptly and said yes, especially if we could arrive a tad earlier and give a partial pizza order in advance. We ordered all thin crust pizzas and especially enjoyed the Greek white pizza, which is even better with sausage! The service was excellent and everyone from kids to seniors enjoyed the pizza.

Simple

By Johannes Silaban |

Its a simple restaurant. Good service, if they dont have what you want then they have no problem of you sitting inside. Good pizza in a nice location.

Dreaming of Delfino's

By Brittany R |

The best pizza I've ever had ANYWHERE. We ordered a small deep dish CBR with stuffed crust. I could hardly eat two pieces because it was so filling. We took home our leftovers and had a moment of silence for our last piece. I am so sad that there aren't more locations! The service was great and when I return to Seattle, I'll be calling Delfino's first.

Great pizza

By rofo60 |

Excellent pizza and very good service. Our server was very helpful in the selection of quality local beers. And, also helpful in the selection of a wide range of all the pizzas available.

Excellent Deep Dish Pizza

By simpsjd |

I started my long friendship with Delfino's in 1995, and have been eating there ever since. I have said numerous times that this is a place you go for the food not always the service, and while the service has improved over the years the pizza is just as exceptional today as it was 19 years ago! The crust is amazing the sausage is incredible and if you have not had the stuffed spinach pizza you have not lived! It sounds ridiculous to say and even more so to write but it was the first pie I had and while I usually do sausage, pepperoni and black olive; every time someone new comes to visit I introduce them to SSP and have not had a single complaint yet. If you are looking for Giordano's then travel 1900 miles and eat there, if however if you want incredible deep dish pizza in Seattle, this is by far one of the best.

AMAZING FOOD...not so amazing seating

By JohnFromSantaClara |

I went to the restaurant with my family who was on vacation and a local family who are friends of ours. We were seated in a back room with no windows near a door to the restroom and office. It was kind of tight and the people sitting near the restroom were not happy. We got drinks but I was hoping for a bit more local microbrew choices. The place did not seem that crowded but service was not too attentive. The food came and did not disappoint. It was amazing! The best pizza I have had out of Chicago. The stuffed pizza is a must to the point of ignoring everything else on the menu. Gosh...this place has amazing food...if the seating and service only matched it... :(

Come to Seattle’s U Village for delicious thick pizza

By Athena Tung |

I made an appointment with relatives here to have pizza. After ordering, it was hand-made and put in the oven for 35 minutes. It was really good! It tastes good, the pizza is thick, soft in the mouth, and the crust is chewy. By the way, I ordered Delfino's Special Stuffed Large, a 14-inch pizza. We ordered 2 additional salads, which were also good, but we wanted pizza here.

Good Food & Service

By freesparrow |

The food was good and the service was very good. The waiter was very friendly. The decor was not special.

Hit and miss

By seattlepat2015 |

They offer thin and thick crust. The thick crust was bland and tough the times I have it there. The sauce is good though. They sell by the slice if you're in a hurry.

Delish Delfino's Pie...Worth the Wait

By PanoramaPoint |

I have good memories of Delfino's pizza from probably 20 years ago. Last night reconfirmed those memories. Server Hannah was outgoing, friendly and obviously enjoys serving. We chose a 10 inch pie with half Traditional Vegetarian with green peppers, mushrooms and olives adding sundried tomatoes to replace sauteed onions. The other half was mozzarella with added feta, pineapple and roma tomatoes. We had just mentioned how long it was taking to receive our order when it arrived after about 35 minutes. Delicious and worth the wait if you're not in a rush.

Delicious~

By Sujin R |

I love seattle because almost everything I want can be found hear. I had goooood chicago pizza in seattle.^^

Worth the wait!

By Guinnivere W |

I haven't had deep dish pizza since Godfather's left years ago. When my boyfriend asked to have lunch here I jumped right on it. It is a 1/2 hour wait for pizza but totally worth it! The service was excellent. A group was just leaving as we got there. The waitress cleaned up and got us seated quickly. We had the small Delfino's deluxe with Cesar salad and Coke. I'm glad we ordered the small, it turned out to be more than enough. We even brought home some leftovers. We'll be back for more!

Best Pizza I have ever had!!!!

By Tim L |

I never had a Chicago deep dish pizza and I grew up just outside Chicago. This was the best pizza I have ever had in the 15M+ pizzas an old guy could have at this point in life. The crust is light and melts in your mouth. The sauce is like no other I have ever tried-better than all of the sauces I had in Rome! My favorites- Spinach, Delfino’s Special and Eric’s. Can’t wait to return to Seattle for more pizza. Unfortunately nothing close to this place in Denver. Wow what amazing pizza!

Mouth watering delicious

By MAAB23 |

I highly recommend a deep dish pizza from here! They are amazing in the restaurant and the next day either reheated or cold. Keep in mind that a deep dish takes about 25 minutes to make, but the wait is well worth it. If you or anyone in your family is a pizza lover, you won’t be disappointed!

Pizza pie!

By irene |

My son raved about this place so we gave it a try. They do three types - thinnish, deep and deep covered in pastry. They tell you at the outset the length of time to wait as the deeper the pie the longer it takes to cook. Excellent way to get people to have a starter cos the deep pies take 30 mins and covered ones 40 mins. We therefore had salad and garlic bread followed by the deep pizza. We had a small one each. They don't look much, rather small really but absolutely delicious and totally filling. I would definitely go back for more.

Amazing, authentic

By MichelleTS |

The crust is amazing, flakey, soft. The wait took forever, but traditional deep dish pizza does. We got sat right away and had no problems. I will be back for sure!

Date Night

By Stephanie Liam |

For tonight's date night shenanigans we landed ourselves in a corner at the University Village. Dinner was to be the ever so popular Summer hangout, Delfino's Chicago Style Pizza. Every summer their patio is full and nobody comes out without one of their pizza boxes. Finally on this cold night we were going to find out why. We arrived just in time to get a table of our choice by the window. Not even 10 minutes later the entire restaurant was full and they were seating people in their overflow back room. Leanne was our host and server. Service with a smile is what we immediately received. When my hubby told her it was our first time she did not hesitate to give us a low down on how to decipher the menu. She was extremely informative and even answered my questions before I could even ask them. She never approached our table, or any other for that matter, without a genuine smile on her face. And we noticed that she was very attentive, but with respect to our needs. Excellent service indeed! Oh! But I guess I should touch on the food too, huh? Well, we ordered the small thin crust, half what they call CBR, i.e. Chicken-Bacon-Ranch, and the other half was their Traditional Vegetarian. Although the chicken pieces were big, the flavor was not so much. Overall, the pizza was just OK. Because it would take 10-15 minutes to bake, we decided to order Traditional Chicken Wings as well. Half was Italian and the other half was Buffalo. Again, not very flavorful, but the Italian rub was very peppery. Fortunately we ended our meal with a most delicious dessert, a deep dish baked apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was good and just enough to satisfy our sweet teeth. And of course my reviews are not complete without my input of the bathroom. There was only one so if you're in a hurry, don't be. As for cleanliness, it was a 8 out of 10. Overall, glad we finally went in the door. Will we return? Probably not. Many other restaurants at The U Village to review.

Worst pizza for a high price

I bought a medium sized spinach stuffed pizza that looked like the one in the photo. Very pretty but absurdly over-priced for something so totally ordinary. The outer rim of the crust was nicely crisp--that's the best I can say about it. The sauce was like any kind from a jar. The stuffing had a few flakes of spinach in enough plain mozzarella to choke you, truly awful. That was it. I will never go there again and certainly don't recommend it to anyone.

Get ready to wait!

By DCF318 |

We visited around lunch time, and had to wait over 45 minutes for our pizza to be cooked ... so we ordered an appetizer (kids were screaming and hungry), but the garlic bread took over 25 minutes. The food was a little greasy and cheesy (which i found yummy but some of my more health conscious family didn't), and although I would want to eat here again, I may only return if I know that I have sufficient time to wait.

Best Stuffed Pizza this side of the Midwest

You can't beat real Chicago stuffed pizza, but Delfino's wins my vote for best Chicago style stuffed pizza this side of the Midwest. My only complaint is that there is only one Delfino's in Seattle. You can find Delfino's in a rather small venue hidden away in an unlikely corner of the University Village adjacent to the UW campus. We ordered a 12" (medium) pepperoni and black olive stuffed pizza. In true Chicago tradition, this pie could feed 4-6 easy. All the ingredients were top grade and the sauce was to die for. The crust was a perfect compliment; buttery but never overshadowing the robust flavor of the pie. Even the simple garlic bread appetizer was excellent. The only thing Delfino's could do better is play their music a little louder. It was somewhat quiet and while waiting 35 minutes (yes folks, these are made fresh just like in Chicago), it does feel like you could take a snooze. However, the food was worth the wait and I highly recommend Delfino's to all my fellow Chicago-style pizza connoisseurs.

Real Chicago style pizza

Their 1947 pizza oven is from Chicago, the recipes are the orriginal ones used in Chicago. The sauces are lick your fingers tasty. The crust is light and delicious. Parking in the university mall is tough but worth the wait. When we visit Seattle this place is a must! We buy additional pizzas to take home for the freezer. I highly recommend this if you love Chicago style pizza. It is a trip back to how pizza used to taste before the big names were bought out by the national food corporations.

Good Chicago style - for Seattle

Looking for a quick place for lunch and something not too expensive, we wandered into Delfino's. I would say that the selection of beers from the Northwest was better than the pizza. Not that it was inedible - far from it but I did not feel I was in Chicago! In any case, the service was good, it was inexpensive and quick so all my goals were met!

A night out with friends

We went with a few friends for a night out to enjoy pizza. They had never had Delfino’s pizza and seemed to really enjoy the deep dish pizza. It was well worth the ferry ride and two hours to get there for really great Chicago style pizza! Thanks for not letting us down! Love Delfino’s!

We went to Delfinos hoping for real Chicago style pizza and we were not disappointed. The food was very good and we even ordered 2 par baked pizzas to take home.
