Never again.........will I attempt to make dim sum at home again......

By differentname |

I am staying at a Ritz-y location just south of Chinatown and scanned your reviews for delicious dim sum. I found a place named, Delicious Dim Sum, just 4 blocks north on Jackson Street. I walked in and simply pointed to things I wanted: 2 green scallion shrimp balls, 3 pork dumplings, steamed rolled up noodle with chives and shrimp, and a wrapped lotus leaf sweet rice with pork bits, egg, pork belly, etc.... all for $8.25 Every item was absolutely the best I have ever tasted. I am so happy I took the advice of your reviewers. Resolution: I am throwing away all my Asian spices when I get home and I will never attempt to cook any Chinese food again. I simply do not have the heart and soul to understand the depth of specific knowledge that is required to perfect something as wonderful as what I have just eaten. I have never done justice to Asian cuisine and today I have come to the conclusion that I never will. Our Ritz-y hotel has a huge jar of fortune cookies in the lobby. One of them called out to me as I passed by. It read, 'You will always have good luck in your personal affairs. ☺' I guess I should not share that fortune with my wife. By the way, you don't need soy sauce. You'd ruin it. But I would opt for a cool glass of white wine, possibly a sauvignon blanc. I did, it was wonderful: hey, this is California!

Best Dim Sum in SF!

By l2ider |

Seriously, the best steamed dim sum around! It's not a sit and dine joint but we usually do a group order couple times a month. They do have a couple tables if you really want to eat inside but it's a pretty tight fit. NIce to grab a couple orders while touring Chinatown. The best is the shrimp and cilantro! Also, the beef shumai is so moist and tender!!! It's small and they don't really speak English, but you can point to the various dim sum steam trays and everything is delicious just like their name. I noticed they also make large orders to be delivered to other restaurants. The shrimp and cilantro is better than any dim sum you get at the fancier places where they charge $4.50 for 3 pieces! Also, they close on Wednesdays!

Fantastic Dim Sum

By Brenda S |

If you're a foodie you'll want to go here. After reading a great review on Tripadvisor, my husband and I walked to Chinatown and searched for this place. It is just a small grab-n-go place (you cannot eat there) but the dim sum was wonderful. We had a local Chinese person help us with ordering because the menu is in Chinese. We used the "point to it" method. Everything we tried was over-the-top delicious! We heard that there is a park down the street where you can sit and eat, however we just took it back to our hotel and enjoyed it there. Do not miss this dim sum if you are in San Francisco. It's the best. You can tell by the line (of locals) going out the door.

OK Dim Sum, very greasy noodles.

By Jaimie C |

This tiny place in Chinatown specializes in Dim Sum. We prefer Vegetarian so they had veggie dim sum, and some with bean paste fluffy ones which were very doughy. We also had the vegetable fried rice (more rice than veggies), vegetarian noodles (extremely greasy), and the spring rolls which were very good. The freshly made ice tea was also very good. I've had much better dim sum in New York. The upside of this place is you pay a very modest price for all you can eat, the owners are extremely nice, helpful and friendly, and they stay open all day. We came at an odd time of day for a late lunch but were welcomed to eat at that time.

Tasty and affordable dim sum

By Ilon S |

Looking for dim sum in the area, I picked this off of Google maps. It's a very small place, offering food on the go. It has a single small table in the back. The selection of dim sum are pretty good, and all of the ones I had (4 different) were tasty and well made. The prices are good, and I ended up paying $5 for 6 pieces, which made for a good light meal.

Quick and delicious— and inexpensive!

By Jason G |

The potstickers and pork dumplings were delicious. We ordered four items and had a filling lunch for two for $16– quite a deal in San Francisco.

Yes it is delicious!

By NCC60 |

Best dim sum. So good! Only problem everything is in Chinese and only 1 small table. So just point to what looks good! Everything we picked was good. Three adults ate their fill plus 3 cans of pop and our bill was around $15. If you never tried dim sum this is your chance to try it.

Great Dim Sum

By HikerDave2 |

A wonderful experience selecting, with the assistance of the person behind the counter, delicious food. You can't go wrong here. This is a take out place but they do have a couple of chairs inside where you can sit and eat. And inexpensive! Two of us enjoyed a satisfying small lunch for less than 5$

The line out the door tells it all!

By Johnny J |

Walking through China Town, there are lots of options for dim sum. I had read the reviews for this place, and stopped in there on our first day in San Francisco. We actually got a seat at one of the two tables in the back, and ate until we were full. The four of us probably had four different things each and I don't think we spent $20 total. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Very reasonable pricing

By Lucas W |

I visited Delicious Dim Sum in the late afternoon and got two different kinds of pork dumplings, two beef dumplings and a pork & vegetable pot sticker. The pork dumplings tasted very good the rest was nothing special. I paid $4 total which is a very good price in my opinion. There is one table to sit down.

Food was absolutely fabulous would highly recommend

By I9734WOwarrenc |

We had a some banquet dinner for 2 Was absolutely fabulous, best tasting Generous serving Do yourselves a favour and try they You will not be disappointed

very disappointed

By Steve H |

Dumplings were doughy, luke warm and bland. Service was nearly abusive. Had to ask for chop sticks with my take out order. Had to ask for sauce... plastic packets. This doesn't compare to NYC Dim Sum. Maybe ok for tourists but not if you've had good dim sum elsewhere.

Delicious and inexpensive

By 5eaAirLand |

Simply the best. Steamed pork buns, shumai, dumplings for two cost less than $7. If there is a line, it moves very quickly. One table available for seating. They package everything to take away unless you ask for a tray.

Authentic experience

By CeeCeeAtl |

Tasty and and inexpensive dinner! You have to be flexible because at the end of the day not every choice was available. But there are tons of options to choose from. Not much English is spoken but that is part of the adventure. Really enjoyed an authentic meal in Chinatown

Fran-tactic!

By Olineman |

Delicious Dim Sum may not win the eye test but the food is incredible. It'd help if I could speak Chinese but the staff was very patient answered questions then delivered the best Dim Sum around. Price is great, food is great and service is great!

for dim sum

By Milly H |

I had been comin to this place for a long time every time I go to the city that's the place I have to go their dim sum are excellent, the price is good the food are great I would recommend this place to whom ever likes dim sum

Locals love it.

By Julianne M |

Filled with locals. That was our first clue. Wide variety of options, even for the gluten free folks in our group.

ok dim sum

By saltw80128 |

I ordered one of each of the dim sum. my least favorite was the beef. I didn't like it nor did my friend. My favorite was the shumai but it had a couple of gristle chunks in it. The shrimp dim sum was delicious. I think there was one table in there that had someone sitting in there and eating.

Loved the Dim Sum for a very reasonable price

By LUCKYME72 |

We did a 5 hour free walking tour of San Francisco and our guide, Britt, recommended this place. We were very happy with the food and prices. It is small with only 1 small table. But they accommodated 8 of us and were very nice. So tasty!

Fresh and excellent

By JeddaCath |

I don't normally eat dim sum. This was a stop on a food walking tour. Tried the shrimp and cilantro dim sum. The owner is Ivy and they make fresh dim sum on the premises. Very good.

if you like dim sum, this is the place!!

By Mariana C |

the best dim sum i had tried, its a small place, not fancy, very cheap, you must try them!!! you buy there and take away, i ate them in the side walk in front of the place. delicious!!!

Seriously Delicious!

By Nicole T |

This place was by far the best place we ate in Chinatown! The food was excellent, prices were fantastic, and the customer service was on point! When we walked in, there were a few tables already seated and ordering although it was early in the morning. One table was full of locals who were playing cards and laughing. It was a very welcoming place and I can't wait to visit again!

Good food, inexpensive.

By kpm45 |

Chinatown is busy any day of the week. Parking is hard to find, and don't be surprised if a native to the Chinatown area will not help you. Find a parking garage. We went to Delicious Dim Sum because the line was on the sidewalk, and the natives to the area were in the line. Inside the menu was in Chinese. However, if you politely ask, the staff will tell you what is in the wrappers. Listen carefully because they will not repeat it. We had vegetable and pork pot stickers, pork buns, and a couple of other things. It was all very good, and inexpensive. The space is very small and has no seating. Definitely would go back, even though it was a pain to park.

Very Deloicious

By kimlaughlin |

I found this take out Dim Sum restaurant via yelp review and was not disappointed. There was no line at 9:30 AM and I walked right in and went a little crazy on Dim Sum. The food is fantastic and great prices. The lady who helped me was very nice and smiled when I was going dim sum crazy. I ordered a lot, lunch and dinner :D I got my dim sum fix and was truly satisfied.... Awesome, cant say enough. If your in the area you have to try this take out.

What I got? I have no Clue, but it was delicious...

By Stepjarsteve |

Except for the Chicken Feet, but darn it, now i can say i tried it. But seriously, this was the best Dim Sum ever. No menu (in english) but all I had to do anyways was point and say "that one and that one and that one." Trying something new in each bite and the price was crazy cheap. I had to go back for more. No place to sit so we hung out by the door and ate in front of everyone. But everyone understood because they knew how good it was. Also the alley across the street is where the singing barber is, so be on the look out for him. So get in line and Point and say that one and that one.....

Delicious - NOT

By Angus-Ha |

Was looking for some dim sum when we were in San Francisco, Chinatown. Looked up Yelp and was guided by the 4-star rating of this takeaway joint, so went along, looking forward to some "delicious" yum cha. Not only was the food not delicious, the service was poor. The lady behind the counter clearly wished she wasn't there. She offered no assistance, service and frankly she couldn't care less. We asked if we could sit down and eat, no reply was forthcoming. The joint obviously caters for takeaways, I can accept that if the food was good, but the food we bought was lukewarm! doughy and tasteless, in fact, we threw most of it away and left in disgust. No rating!

Not so good

By maslo87 |

I was looking forward for a good dim sums but my experience was poor/average. Prices are good but BBQ pork bun was nothing but a stale, cold, all-dough experience. I met only a few tourists entering the establishment.

Utterly disappointed with the auntie!

By DianaCSW |

Really bad attitude that totally turns us off from buying from her, but still we did walk off with some Siew Mai, har gow, and another dim sum. Since Chinatown is a touristy place, probably the auntie should be a little more patience with telling the price, anyway we were the only customers in there with her! The dim sums we bought were average, but the attitude from her irks us. Will NOT return for more!

delicious and super value for money

By ZaneZv |

Super delicious dim sums on a side street in Chinatown. Fantastic value for money. One of those tiny places that have next to no appeal, but food is totally worth seeking it out. One little table if you want to eat right there. Menu on the wall in English also, but be prepared that they prefer you know what you want and speak their language :) Expect no service, just good food.

take out place with one table near the kitchen

By Bruce M |

accommodating server (no common language but that was entirely our fault) no chopsticks, no Hoisin sauce, plastic forks, food not hot but very tasty. We loved it

Delicious!

By Cece1424 |

We found this place based on some Yelp reviews. It is not a sit-down place so be prepared to take it to go or eat it while walking around. We tried the pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings and the steamed bbq pork bun. They were all yummy except for the bread on the pork bun. It tasted stale although the filling was good. It seems to be a popular place because we tried to go later in the day the week before and they hardly had anything left.

Great pot stickers

By EMT40SW |

I grab some shrimp dumplings & pot stickers. Both were great but the pot stickers were my favorite. The food was reasonably priced & delicious. Seating was very limited. I just got my food & ate walking downtrend street.

Very delicious dim sum

By Ana S |

Recommended by tour guide it did not disappoint. I took a plate with a variety of dim sum to go and enjoyed the San Francisco weather.

Quick bites

By rsenteno |

Great place for a quick bite or snack prices are cheap no where to eat inside and they actually recommend a near by park for a dim sum picnic The seafood dumplings are really good Shrimp crab etc.

Truly Delicious Dim Sum

By Melanie L |

It's so authentic that there is no menu other than the chinese one on the wall, however the staff is more than happy to point to each dumpling and explain exactly what's in it. There is one table in the back for seating. I loved the huge steam racks for the dumplings. This was our cheapest meal while in the city, my husband and I had 5 dumlinigs and one steamed pork bun each plus one coke and it totaled $8.

Cheap, fast and tasty

By SusieC637 |

Hubby and I are new to Dim Sum - this got good reviews on Yelp, so we tried something safe, Char-Siu, which is basically a sweet bread that tastes similar to King's Hawaiian Bread, and has a mildly BBQ flavored diced pork filling. This place has EVERYTHING written in Chinese, and nothing in English, so I really didn't know what to ask for. These were pretty filling, and, get this... they were only $0.60 each! Yes, that's SIXTY CENTS. I just wish there was a little more description in English... we would have been more adventurous.

Delicious Dim Sum

By CGJJ726 |

The name says it all...indeed is a very very good dim sum factory making large variety of Dim Sums and many types of Buns, Rice Rolls, and more. Go there just to watch, One visit not enough.

Tasty Food, Basic Decor

By JC_chgo |

This is a typical Chinatown inexpensive restaurant, there are many locals there and few tourists. It's, uh, quite plain decor. The food is why- very very tasty. I and some friends went there for Sunday morning brunch and everything was quite good. It was already busy at 9am. Standouts: shrimp and Chinese parsley dumplings; BBQ pork buns; 'plain' shrimp dumplings; pork dumplings; (pork) pot stickers. If you are a small group and are seated at a large table, another group may be given the other half of the table- this did not cause any issues, and with the number of people there, it would have been silly not to. Also- quite cheap, for 4 people we all had lots of things (like 4 or 5 each) and it was under $30.

Delicious and Authentic

By GameServer |

No waiting line on this small Dim-Sum stand. The menu is in Chinese so ask the nice lady what's available. Then realize you have no idea what she just said. Then just say: "al'right, let's mix everything in a box". Then pay a ridicilusly small price. Then eat some of the best Dim Sum you've ever had. Rinse, Wash, Repeat.

Great food!

By travelingjess |

We were reading all the great reviews so we found this place in chinatown and were not disappointed. Nothing in english at all so hubby got a little nervous wondering what we were getting. No where to sit so we had to stand on the street to eat. Really great dim sum, various kinds. Only reason for the 4 instead of the 5 is i have no idea what i ate!

Delicious! Delicious!

By RebArne |

Delicious Dim Sum is a typical walk-in and take out place for dim sum. A few things to note: If you are driving, I recommend parking your car at Portsmouth Square parking garage and walking to Delicious Dim Sum as street parking is difficult in Chinatown. Cultural differences; Chinese culture is different than American. Do not expect to be greeted with a smile. Walk in, look at the menu with pictures located on the wall in front of you, tell the lady what you want to order and the quantity. She will tell you how much you owe. Pay her and say “shey shey” (thank you). Then, go find a bench in Portsmouth Square and enjoy your goodies. I ordered the steamed BBQ Pork bun, yolk bun, sausage bun and one order of sesame ball (3 per order). All were very tasty. Total cost? $5.00. Taste and happiness content? Priceless.

Disappointing Dim Sum vs. Delicious

By Sylvia R |

I violated my rule on anything Asian-food related....if you do not see Asian people flooding the place, avoid. This dim sum was very disapointing...the beef looked like red mystery meat and was loaded with salt (probably MSG based on the headache after trying) and what seemed like bright red coloring. The roll was a blob of I-might-guess rice flour. Granted my bar may be high - I'm used to going to dim sum with my Asian friends, and they know where to go for great dim sum. Avoid this place. (This is not a sit-down eatery, but more "bakery" style where you go in, order and take out. Though I did not expect great service, the attendant was rude and pushy.)

Quick lunch , great dim sum

By AnbuMahadevan |

After reading reviews decided to check out this place. Food was delicious. Tasted fresh and yummy. Was a little disappointed that it was only a to go place as I wanted a place to sit and eat. But other than that loved the lunch. Favorite was the cilantro shrimp dumplings.

No sit down, queues, but fantastic food

By MikeCamel |

Found this on tripadvisor, walked over for breakfast on a Sunday. Amazing dim sum, very, very cheap. Not much English spoken, but you can point. No surprise that there were queues - mostly Chinese people - but they move quickly. Difficult to get a receipt. Went back twice. Heartily, heartily recommended.

Delicious and Reasonably Price Dim Sum

By Belinda O |

This little Dim Sum store served so many Dim Sum dishes that are delicious and the price is so reasonable for San Francisco. I will highly recommend it.

Delicious and authentic

By Cynthia S |

This is kind of a tradition in my family when we get together, its to go eat dim sum on a sunday. I rarely see my family because I live so far away, but we were all in San fran together so we had to do it. This place is a hole in the wall with delicious food. Right in China town as you would expect. I ate like a piggy, so did all of us.

Delicious

By DW |

We ordered potstickers and shrimp cilantro dumplings. They were cheap and good. How're there was an eyelash steamed into the dumpling.

Walk a block from the Main Street to find this gem

By KidDocDMC |

There is no shortage of restaurants up and down Grant St. However, if you can manage to walk a block to the west, you’ll find this tiny shop (no dining in). I went there because it rated well on Yelp and was open later than most. They had a limited selection when I went in, but I managed to get a ton of dim sum for about $11. It was all tasty and fresh. (The desserts were from down the street).

BEST DIM SUM TO GO

By Lisa B |

Every time we want quick, delicious dim sum, we go to Delicious Dim Sum in San Francisco. There is nowhere to sit, but if you want great dim sum at super cheap pricing, this is the place for you. Our family of 5 had a great lunch there for about the same price as going to a Taco Bell. The quality is just like what you would find at a much pricier sit-down restaurant.

Awesome dumplings!!

By Mako |

Real Authentic Chinese Dumplings!! I ate dumplings... this is best dumplings in China town San Francisco! But please expect customer service is terrible and no place to sit down to eat in place. Expect just take them home or hotel! 😋😋😋😋

Delicious Comfort Food!

By bell-lap |

We went to Delicious Dim Sum for the first time this August, while on vacation. And then we went back again before we left the city, because we enjoyed the food so much. I mentioned to the lady behind the counter that I would leave a good review, and so here it is. First off, don't expect fancy...it isn't. It's a small, busy store with just what the business needs to churn out dim sum continuously throughout the day. The two times we were there, it appeared that they made a handful of items, made them well, and continued in repeat mode. Next, don't expect seating. There were a couple of chairs and one table that was used by the staff to prep ingredients or eat lunch - we did use the table on our second visit, and it was suitable to get the food in our bellies before we headed out again. And as for service, it's okay, goes with the place really. Lastly, it seems to be a cantonese dim sum place, so think the stereotypical items (see below) and don't expect northern chinese dim sum! I'm from Toronto, raised on Chinese food mostly from the wave of cantonese restaurants in the 70's and 80's. We used to go to dim sum restaurants where the women workers still pushed the dim sum cart and shouted the names of the dishes as they passed our table (a nearly extinct scene now). Ha gow (steamed shrimp dumplings) and siu mai (steamed pork dumplings), cheung fun (steamed rice noodle) and pot stickers were the norm. This store was very much a sentimental blast from the past for me! They made those familiar items really, really well...and they were very large in size too. I chatted with the server in cantonese, and found her to be helpful and friendly. And what I was really impressed by was the pricing...like other reviewers have mentioned, you can get full without spending a lot! I think it was just under $3 per item (so, 3 dumplings for $3). A few minor negatives: I wasn't super crazy about the soy sauce, not the store's (they handed us a dispenser) nor the take-out packets. I was and still am curious about what cantonese restaurants put in their soy sauce, but it often makes the dish. Also, they had some deep-fried items at the end of the counter, but they didn't seem to have as high turn-over as the steamed items up front, so I avoided them. We were really glad to have 'discovered' them...it's a good thing that they are just a short walk from the Fortune Cookie store / tourist site, we stumbled on them quite by accident. So if you're entering the SF Chinatown by the ornate gate on Grant St., like we did, keep heading in/deeper for a more authentic experience. Resist the Chinese people on the main strip enticing you to go to such-and-such dim sum restaurant in english, and head for some down-home goodness like Delicious Dim Sum...it's the real thing.

Dim Sum on a Budget

By Judy C |

Eating in San Francisco gets expensive, and even with many inexpensive places in Chinatown, this particular Dim Sum place was exceptional. For about $6.00, my sister and I and our mother were able to eat and get filled - that's $2.00 per person! We ordered one Zongzhi (sticky rice tamale), which was huge for $2.50. It tasted as good as the ones my grandmother used to make. It was filled with a delicious tender pork (I think it may have been pork belly) with peanuts and egg yolk. I was in heaven. We also ordered a sesame ball, filled with sweet red bean paste, a taro cake, and a shrimp & chive dumpling. They were all delicious and the price to fill the three of us up was amazing. We went there later that day and got 16 of the sticky rice tamales to take home with us. (There is one small table in the rear of the place that you can sit at if no one else is there, but plan on going early in the day... otherwise it is all take away) The people were very gracious and helpful with our questions and needs.

Pretty good and affordable

By m00lah |

Read that Good Mong Kok was THE place for good takeaway dim sum but that there's always a long queue so I decided to go with Delicious instead. There's 1 table for 4-5 persons available and some additional chairs at the side. We ordered 6 items - shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings (shumai), vegetable dumplings, char siew buns, beef rice-flour roll (cheong fun) and wrapped glutinous rice (loh mai kai) and 2 bottles of water. All of which cost us USD22. The rice-flour roll was very good, the dumplings and wrapped glutinous rice were average, the bun was more bun, not much char siew fillings (but we ordered it as my girl is allergic to seafood). We sat at the side chairs and had our tray of food as there were other customers seated at the table. The lady boss is very friendly. Would I come back again? Possibly if we're wanting some dim sum while in San Francisco.

I have to stop by for a fix. Yummmmm!!!

By cnahoum |

Really good Ha Gow and veg shrimp (I dont know the name in chinese cause their aint no english menu..!?)(whish they would jot down a few english characters on a page so I can speed up my ordering!). I will be back even though the only way I can order is by pointing. I get a crave for them and every time I go to San Franciso (about 2 times a year) I have to stop by for a fix. Yummmmm!!!

Great dim sum

By AbbilC |

This is a tiny place that do great take out dim sum. Don't let the decor put you off the food is worth it. The shrimp dumplings are particularly nice.

So many choices!

By Vania N |

This place had so many delicious dim sum choices! You order at the counter and take your food to go instead of sitting down while someone comes by with a cart. They had so many options, and they all were very tasty. Definitely worth a try.

Wonderful Dumplings & Buns

By Jjack58 |

Best Dumplings and Buns in San Francisco. A true diamond. Very fair price for the amount of food you get. Take the food to go and enjoy people watching at a local park.

Very Good

By tolistravelers |

Very good Dim Sum, and very inexpensive. Lots of dough vs filling ratio (again, this is inexpensive so that's fine, it's just a factor). Service was needlessly unfriendly so I have taken a point off for that. We don't expect much in that regard, but it was unpleasant enough to mention it.

What a disappointment

By Martinska |

I should have been suspicious that the Dim Sums were sitting there already cooked, don't ask why I still decided to buy some. This is what I expect from Shanghai Dumplings: thin dough, tasty broth inside. These were the opposite: Thick dough, no broth at all, already dried out because there were steamed a long time ago. And the minced beef dumplings were raw in the middle. The idea of eating half-raw sitting there for hours minced beef is dusgusting. And they had no vinegar but that is only a side note.

5 dolla Make you holla

By Binwinut |

This place is big time on yelp. Awesome dim sum. Cheap dim sum. Dim sum you eat on the side of the street near other randoms because they have half a table with steam trays already on top. Random good experience.

Best meal in San Francisco!

By Love to go places |

Best meal in San Francisco! Best value too. Thank you to the stranger standing outside and recommending the place. Delicious and quick. However if you don't live near, it is take out only, we had to find a tea shop to sit down and eat.

Amazing Dim Sum!

By Amanda H |

Amazing food at such a low price, we especially loved the prawn ones (number 1) and kept coming back during our visit to San Francisco. You will not be disappointed!

Not so delicious

By Taz68Harrow |

Went here based on reviews. Take away dim sum in Chinatown. Was ok but not very hot so check before you take items away as could eat some of it but not all as too cold and slimey! Really cheap though and reasonable. Went to the bakery also reviewed on here and was super busy so I would recommend there as no one at this one so I clear missed something!!

Good food

By Persephone M |

Decent food. Solid four stars, they didn't have Worchestershire sauce. We went forty minutes before closing.

WONDERFUL DIM SUM AND A FIND ,LIKE A PEARL IN AN OYSTER

By finlander8888 |

couldn't wait to go to this place i did quite a search for an authentic dim sum restaurant , this is a place where you get the best of the best ......sat for lunch and was stuffed when i left .......the waitress was set aback when i ordered four orders of chicken feet .....they were fantastic and anyone that has been to as many dim sum establishment as me would rate this as a gem . sunday lunch is fantastic and you are well taken care of . i say go here not there

Really delicious - take-away with one table

By kla2015 |

The dumplings are really fantastic and almost at giveaway prices. Everything is done freshly, and you’re spoilt for choice!!!

Very good but not vegetarian friendly

By Gavynn W |

We stopped off for a quick lunch and our options were very limited since my partner and I are pescetarians, even dumplings and potstickers that *might* suit our needs had pork in it. We ended up having Shrimp noodle rolls and they were good! We just wished they had a couple other options that are vegetarian/pescetarian friendly.

Delicious!! Must have....

By Suzanna067 |

We didn't have good experience with Dim Sum places in China town last 2 times we visited SF. (Great Eastern, Lai long Lounge, and Pearl Restaurant) I did check out the Tripadvisor reviews on Delicious Dim Sum, but didn't plan on going. DDS is only for TO-GO orders and there are no table to sit and eat. I was so fortunate to end up finding the restaurant while we were aimlessly walking thru china town. We had Chicken and Chives, Shrimp, Beef, and Pork Dim sums, and they were all extremely good. Best Chicken and chives we ever had. It is a small hole in the wall, but store name and banner signs are clearly visible. We also tried the Gook Mong Kok Bakery on the same day, but wasn't as pleased. Highly recommend Delicious Dim Sum.

Quick bite

By Pazcam |

We stopped here while in Chinatown. The dumplings are absolutely delicious...tried the shrimp, shrimp & cilantro, and spring rolls. Fresh, just steamed, and tasty...definitely worth it if you are in the area.

Delicious Dim Sum

By Regina M |

My husband and I are not huge Chinese food eaters, but wanted to try some dim sum when we visited Chinatown in San Francisco. I met a native San Franciscan while there who was picking out food for takeout. She raved about the food here. We tried the pork pot stickers and they were very good. This is definitely a place for the locals because the entire menu on the wall was written in Chinese and no English! The lady working the front spoke pretty good English, but we still picked out what we wanted by pointing to it!!

Delicious is RIGHT!

By ChristineH |

Going to Chinatown can be overwhelming. There are restaurants everywhere! Which one do you try? We were walking down Jackson wondering where to stop. We saw a man standing outside this little restaurant eating out of his to go container. He said he took an Uber just to get food from this little joint and everything is good. There was a line, which was another good sign. The menus are all written in Chinese, but luckily the woman working there spoke a little English. We ended up trying everything she had left. It was all delicious and we only spent about 6 bucks! You must try this place! One small table and chairs toward the back and a few chairs that line up against the wall. But, this place is mainly meant for food to go.

Awesome Dim Sum

By Tourist634707 |

Awesome dim sum to take out... but go when it's busy so the food is hotter and fresher. Be prepared to queue and expect efficient (not friendly) service.

Good dim sum to go

We got many types of dim sum here. Cannot beat the price here. The dim sum tasted very good. They carry many varieties. The store looks very unappealing though.

Dim sum picnic in the park

By stepheno43 |

Delicious dim sum served by elderly Cantonese cooks. There is a queue but only 1 table and 8 chairs. The shrimp dimsum like har kau, chives dumpling and cilantro kau were of good quality. The pan fried turnip cake could be better with less flour. The sweet pastries with beans were not remarkable. The old lady will kindly show you the way to the park nearby for your dim sum picnic.

Dumplings Must

As a self professed dumplings expert (!), eating at this little humble place was a highlight of being in San Fran. Great quality dumplings (in particular the shrimp and chive dumplings) and at a cost which makes you think you’ve escaped mainstream San Fran prices and headed to China. Excellent all round and highly recommended

Lives up to its name

We got informed of this great little hole in the wall from our guide book and were not disappointed. It is very simple, no prices on the wall, one table to sit at but really, really delicious dim sum. We ordered 6 different types of dim sum, each came with 3 pieces and 3 of us it was plenty. The bill came to $21. So cheap. Would recommend.

Great place for a snack!

Dumplings were delicious! Potstickers are huge!! We got all the food pictured for under $8.00! It is a small establishment with limited seating. You can take your items and walk to a nearby park to eat and enjoy people watching.

Great quick spot for truly delicious dim sum.

Was delighted to pop into this place at 3:30pm on a Sunday. Most places stop dim sum at 3pm. Woman spoke English, process were reasonable, and most importantly the dim sum was fresh and very tasty. I only had steamed dumplings but the pork shumai, Shanghai dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and shrimp cilantro dumplings were all wonderful.

Hidden gem

No Lines And Great Dim Sum

By TheLeongOhana |

The family wanted more dim sum so we tried this restaurant. As with most dim sum shops it was small with just a counter with all the food on display. The menu posted on the wall also contained photos if you need more guidance on what each dish looks like. There was one small table in the back where a family was squeezed around eating their purchases. There was no line during our visit so we did not feel rushed in ordering. We ordered the pan fried chive dumplings, shrimp noodle rolls (don’t forget to ask for the separate small container of sweet soy sauce), fried glutinous rice dumplings and sesame balls. All were excellent. The food quality, taste and lack of a line moved this one up on our favorite dim sum places in Chinatown.

Very average food

super average dim sum would be a better name for this restaurant. I didn't love much about it. The sesame seed covered rice and sweet bean buns were good and one or two other things, but not great overall. I wish it was. I was really looking forward to it!

Go for it

We had 6 different kinds for $3.80! We had to come back the next day because we had a hankering for more! Don't forget to ask for the sauce that usually in the fridge. It's not homemade hot sauce but it's yummy! Get there early to get the good stuff!

A+ dim sum with zero waiting

I have probably eaten dim sum at least a hundred times in SF Chinatown due to my close proximity living in North Beach, and have tried dim sum from at least a dozen places. Delicious Dim Sum is by far my most frequent spot. Can't go wrong with the har gow, siu mai, and har cheong fun. Very tasty, very cheap. Best of all, it's just as good as the always crowded Good Mong Kok Bakery down the street, but without the line! If you go there often enough they will start to recognize you as a regular and even have your order memorized. Happy to continue giving them my business. There are a couple tables in there but just take your food to go like everyone else and walk to Washington Square Park or similar and eat it there.

Dim Sum nasty stuff there!!!!

By Paladine5 |

I ate a potsticker dumpling there that I thought was pretty tasty, otherwise.....forget it! The pork hargow had a very weird breading(pork tasted pretty good), the chicken's feet and the fish heads laying on the counters waiting for whatever was coming their way were unappetizing and smelly. My doctor(of all people) had recommended this place. I just wonder if he wanted to make money off of me getting sick! Nobody in my party liked this food.
