Great Atmosphere!

By Lori123456789 |

We went here on a Saturday afternoon. No wait, we walked right in and had a great table with a view of the Shop. We were hoping for sandwiches, but they just have their brunch menu on the weekends. I opted for the Cobb salad, which was amazing. My boyfriend had the breakfast tacos and said they were great. As an added bonus, they had Two Towns Cider on tap. The service was great, but man, this place is pricey. If I could 4.5 stars, I definitely would! This would probably be a fun Happy Hour, sharing plates kinda place :)

Surprisingly great food

By luckycat2016 |

The restaurant is part of a private auto club, but open to the public. Casual atmosphere. Lunch was HUGE and delicious. I had Cobb salad and it was one of the best I've ever eaten.

The classic car collection is just a side benefit, the real stars are the food!

By FrancineS5060 |

Another great Ethan Stowell restaurant with impeccable service, outstanding food and a fun vibe. Excellent Happy Hour and will be back soon as there is ample parking and it is close to work. Ethan never disappoints!

Good Happy Hour. Burgers and more.

By streykatt |

Went for Happy Hour. Restaurant next to 'Shop" where vintage cars stored- Macklemore's cycle and limo, vettes, Porsche. Had Burger $10 with "Bad Ass bacon'-great. And Nashville corn (on the cob). Happy Hour menu good-nice local beers on tap. Give it a try.

Perfect Pre-concert Bite

By EHayes575 |

My husband and I wanted to grab a bite to eat before a concert. Nothing fancy, not greasy stadium food, but something close to Century Link. A friend suggested Derby so we made a reservation and gave it a try. What a perfect solution pre-concert. I had the Pink Lady cocktail and BLT with the bacon that received rave reviews and I was not disappointed! I felt the meal was very reasonably priced for the quality of food and the ambiance of the restaurant. Clean, friendly staff, cool, vibe and parking! We will definitely be back!

BLT

By Catrina G |

Quite possibly the best BLT I have ever had. The thick Smokey fatty bacon was mouth watering, and lettuce, tomato, and avocado were fresh. Buttery toasted artisan bread encapsulated the whole delicious beast. Soooo good. Nice side salad too.

Small menu, pricey, but good food

By CTB |

I visited Derby for the first time today. I heard it could get busy, so I was there at 11 o’clock when it opened for lunch. At that time of day, it was relatively empty, we were served right away and the service was attentive. The menu is pretty short, with some fairly basic items. My son had a burger and fries and I had the pastrami Reuben. First, the fries were excellent, very crispy. I don’t know what oil they use for frying, but it seems something different. The fry sauce was very good as well. I really liked my Reuben. It was grilled perfectly. Properly heated (I’ve had reubens on occasion that weren’t heated all the way through). Very tangy flavor. I tasted my son’s burger and it was good too, but I don’t recall any unusual flavor profile. Overall, pricey but good. I will go back on some other special occasion. However, $45 + tip for lunch for two guys drinking iced tea was a splurge I won’t be doing every day.

This restaurant concept shouldn't work but it does!

By RichardWorldTraveler |

This is basically a burger joint in a building housing a classic car collection and a club for car buffs. It's in an industrial neighborhood but if you are in the area it is definitely worth a try. The menu is interesting and everything was good and the service friendly and attentive.

Style over substance, average overpriced

By EatingInEdinburgh |

Average food which is overpriced. Stick a semi celeb name on the place and you pay. The menu lacks imagination, the service was lack lusture and the food was average. Yes everyone raves about the garage that is kindof in the same building. If you want to see the cars call the garage, not the bar in advance, if you dont you only get very limited access to the show room. If you are in to coolish places and dont care about the food or the price this is the place for you. If you love good food at honest prices give this one a miss.

Great food, Service and Cars!

By Coachmj99 |

I wish that I lived here so that I could be a club member! The food was outstanding! I had the Cobb Salad and it was fresh and delicious. You have to try the Bacon Appetizer too! I could just have that. If you have time, take the tour of the cars and enjoy the unique and one of a kind rides they store here. I will be back again.

Combined dinner with car tour of The Shop

By Krisinseattle |

We came as part of a car club, and even though they knew we had reservations for over 30, were terribly understaffed in the beginning. They did rally though and put out a decent meal, although I’d go again and sit in the regular restaurant to enjoy the happy hour prices (which were not offered to us). The Cobb salad ($18) was plentiful & fresh, the burger tasty ($15), beers were plentiful on tap and wines predominantly from the Northwest. We had brought a bottle and paid ($25) for corkage. A 20% gratuity is added to each bill (including the corkage fee). Our dinner for 2 was a little over $100. I would try again without being a part of a large crowd. Fun to look into the “stored cars” as part of the decor.

Fun, casual happy hour!

Great food, great drinks and excellent service! A really fun, nostalgic atmosphere. Make sure to see the cars as well!

Price Doesn’t Match Service/Food

By Sandypeat |

Went with friends. The breakfast tacos were pretty darn tasty but everything is expensive for what it is. $13-20 for breakfast. $4 for cheap beer. $9 for fancy drinks. They charge an 18.5% service fee. The service was slow and they forgot some of the order on a slow day. The service charge was not shown anywhere either. Cool cars tho.

Great Meal, Attentive Owner

By Jennifer R |

What a great surprise. This menu has something for everyone. The burger and steak were delicious and my friend loved her vegetarian sandwich. If you are a meat eater, order the bacon. Incredible. Nice to see the owner checking in at each table to ensure satisfaction.

Brunch, burgers and drinks in SoDo In a Car Club warehouse

By Jon C |

In ten heart of Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, Derby looks unassuming in its warehouse digs. Inside is a cool space, co-situated with a car club and dozens of classic autos and motorcycles. It’s quite open (and the Restaurant and cars are separated by large glass walls) It’s and Ethan Stowell restaurant, so you can expect tasty, generous portions. I was there on a weekend early afternoon, so the brunch menu was in use, and their full bar. The burger was very good, cooked exactly like I wanted. Generous fries accompanied. Will return for dinner, and a more complete menu. Well worth the visit

Nice Bar Food. Killer Poutine

By jtssea |

Very nice drinks and elevated bar food. Kier cars to look at and fun vibe. At times service can be spotty and slow Food always delivers but staff can be slow. Feel like staff knows they are guaranteed The authentic tip put on every bill so they get a little lazy.

Worth a visit, certainly a unique place

By parisryan |

Heard about this new place and have been wanting to go. Stopped by today for lunch. The food was really good. We had the Poutine, wings and bacon. The bacon was my favorite for sure. All the food coming out looked great and will go back for sure. I don't think I will go for the food so much as the food car combination when I have people in town that may not have seen a place like this before if that makes sense. I wish they would give better access to the cars currently they have a small viewing area roped off, would be great if they had a couple of isles roped off to walk down. I understand not wanting the cars touched but currently they are hard to appreciate from the long distance.

Come for the cars, stay for the food

By FergusDad |

Derby is a modern restaurant within the Shop complex, a club devoted to car enthusiasts. The pub style menu is well executed. After lunch you can enjoy viewing the collection in the Shop next door. Good fun.

great food and great cars

By StephenJarrold |

If your a car nut you will like this place they have intereting stuff in the restaurant itself and public can view neat cars through windows or in a small fenced area it is kind of like a big parking garage with old cars all cars are in nice shape The food and service were terrific as well 2 downside 1 is it was a bit hard to find and 2 is that most of the sjop is just open to members and I am a car nut and wanted to gp see the cars plus side is there is a number of windows and a finced area to see them I will want to come back here maybe they have open house type thing where public can go viw the cars?

Where 1% parks their cars and the rest enjoy meals

By Helmut |

If you love the fumes of cars (yes, I do) and the vibe of a car shop, then this is the place for you to visit. Food was good (not great) and the place lovely. the quinoa bowl was OK, I would have expected more quinoa and less greens. The honey crisp cider was amazing. Overall a fun experience.

Middle of the road

By LoladeTiburon |

Derby's middle of the road menu would be improved by more attention from the kitchen staff. The salmon Benedict we had was good but could've been excellent with a better Hollandaise sauce. Their avocado toast with fried egg completely lacked seasoning and arrived too cold to enjoy. A little salt, lemon juice, olive oil drizzle or red pepper flakes would have been a welcome finish. Service, which you're informed will be automatically charged at 20%, was about 15% overpriced. The bar appears to be the main draw here, and the cocktail menu looked interesting. We agreed to visit again some night to see how it compares to brunch.

Nice Bakery If A Bit Pricey

By David P |

We stopped by for lunch while in the area (Space Needle, Chilully Gardens). It’s a 10 minutes or so walk. The soup and sandwiches were very good. The sandwiches were on large rolls made at the bakery. The veggie sandwich was tasty and the roast beef was flavorful and tender. We tasted the tomato and the lentil soaps and opted for the lentil. All of the breads we tried were excellent. The triple coconut pie was very good if a bit over hyped (the crust was very hard and while the filling was quite good, it didn’t quite live up to its billing for me, especially at almost $9 a slice). Quality was excellent and I would certainly come back. I’m a bang for the buck guy - call me a value investor - so I give it four stars, knocked down a star because it is a bit overpriced, even for Seattle.

Great food great service

By AtoZTravelJunkie |

Stopped here on way to Sounders game. Great service- we were greeted right away and chose to sit at bar. Had drinks and food quickly. Breakfast tacos were awesome. Love the atmosphere.

Neat concept

By Katherine K |

Went here with some friends. They had a good selection of beer and ciders. You don’t have to worry about tipping because gratuity is included. They had bar food which was really good. Atmosphere was nice. The cars were cool to see. For a tour you have to pay extra.

Super unique.

By tealchristine2712 |

My friend I was visiting with owns a car shop and this is her dream. For someone that cares less about cars and only knows where to put the gas in, I had a blast too. The food was super great and the bartender was really attentive and kind. She bought us a drink! It was my friends birthday. UBER HERE. We got lost walking and for two young women, it wasn’t the best place to be running around by ourselves. The shop is filled with super cool cars.

Derby

By christopherswaby |

i love this place. i like the decor - kinda industrial chic. i like the idea of a restaurant in a car museum of sorts. and the food is terrific. i love the burgers - juicy and well seasoned. the service has been great every time - pleasant and attentive and not obtrusive. i will keep going back.

Bacon to Die For

By Tim H |

Had dinner here with business associates and the food as outstanding. Get the bacon appetizer and be prepared to be blown away...... I ordered the BLT and it was delicious, my friends all ordered burgers and they were stunning. And yes, THE CARs!!!!!

Burgers and cars too

By Edmund1020 |

For some of you car fanatics that's enough reason to go. Too bad you can't get up really close to the cars. Otherwise come for a burger or salad. The food is good and the parking is free.

Birthday dinner

By Daniel H |

What a fun place! Everything we ordered off the menu was delicious. The cornbread was about the best I have had. They have a lot of delicious cocktails and beers. There is even a room full of beautiful cars to look at as well! Definitely be going back to this place.

Exotic cars and good food... a nice combination

By Tyrone M |

We were walking in the area and found this spot while doing a google search for a place to have breakfast. When we walked in there was a completely restored 1980s Audi Quattro on display. Behind the bar we were surprised to see a garage full of exotic Ferrari’s and other models. We had breakfast and coffee which was very good and then went into the viewing area to check out some cars. This is a really cool place.

Car Enthusiasts Delight-

By PegiSueD |

A wharehouse full of high caliber cars, motorcycles and an Ethan Stowell restaurant! What a great combination! We had brunch at Derby as we celebrated my husband birthday. Staff was wonderful and welcoming, they must have known it was a special day for us as they sat us in front of a large picture window, with a front row view of the impressive car collection, assuring us it was the best seat in the house. Thank you, we appreciated the special consideration! Wait staff was helpful and answered questions about the menu. Not an extensive menu, but some yummy and unique offerings, beautifully presented. We had the breakfast brisket tacos, with pickled onions and chimchuri sauce on top, and margarita cocktails. Bueno! Nothing too fancy, but very good. After breakfast we wandered, ogling over the car collection, an employee stopped by to answer questions and inform us about the car collection, along with services and features provided for their club members. The kitchen has a large open feel, it’s easy to stop by and watch the chefs at work. As a visitor they do have a viewing area in the warehouse to get a closer look at all of those classics. As we were admiring a vintage motorcycle her proud owner stepped forward to tell us all about her loving restoration. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and story! A wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Great food, wonderful cocktails, attentive staff. Thank you!

Unusual venue with good food and great service.

By Lori M |

Derby is a new restaurant in Seattle that is connected to a classic car show room. We stopped in for Happy Hour to check out the venue. The service was great! Friendly staff and very helpful in selecting wine. They let us sample a few before deciding on a bottle. The menu offers a nice selection and the burger and steak salad were great. After we finished dinner we strolled over to the take a look at the cars. The gentlemen there was very gracious and shared some interesting details about some of the cars on display. This is a great spot for large groups looking for a casual place for dinner or drinks. They offer several open seating areas with couches. Plenty of parking in the area which is always a plus.

Great vibes

By Phhugg |

We were a party of 8. We had a nice table looking into the garage. It was cool because one (younger) member of our party recognized a motorcycle covered with moose hide as one from a music video done by a famous local musician. The atmosphere was great. Servers were very attentive. The appetizers, burger and BLT were really good. We were only let down by the Korean Chicken burger. The meat was really tough.

Great Happy Hour Food and Drinks.

By Susan A |

We stopped in with friends early on a Saturday evening because it was handy to where we were and my husband likes to look at cars. The pub is attached to The Shop, which is a place where club members can work on their cars. Non-members cannot go into the work area, but there is a viewing window where car fanciers can look at the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc. This evidently isn't a place to work on your Toyota. We were delighted to find that there is a Happy Hour every evening, including weekends, from late afternoon until seven pm. The HH menu was not extensive, but it had some interesting choices. Drinks were very good and very reasonable. Fries were crispy and well cooked. The burger, which we split, was excellent. My only quibble was that the bun was toasted for too long and had gone from crispy to shattering when cut, making it difficult to eat. We chose to sit on very comfy couches in a living room setting, although there were plenty of tables available at five in the afternoon. There was a large screen TV displaying college football, but the sound was mercifully muted.

Interesting place

By Diannamania |

My husband and I ate here on a Sunday afternoon because we happened to be in the neighborhood (and there aren't many other options around). Overall the food was pretty good, but it was also expensive. I ordered the Breakfast Tacos, which are stuffed with scrambled eggs and brisket. It was also served with fried potatoes and ketchup. The tacos were pretty unique and very tasty, but I thought the potatoes were too plain. My husband ordered the Bad-A** BLT, which was amazing! The bacon is as thick as a slice of ham. The roasted garlic mayo also adds a great flavor and the fries were good. Yes, they automatically add 20% gratuity to your bill, but I thought our server gave us excellent service. The kitchen staff also kindly agreed to let us order something off the lunch menu, even though it was brunch service. I really appreciated that. Derby is connected to a private car club called The Shop. There is a small area where you can walk into the garage and see some of the cars. They have Macklemore's blue limo and moose motorcycle from his music videos, which were pretty cool to see, but you can't see much more than that.

Terrible customer service & ridiculous wait times

By Lance H |

Four of us stopped in today (9/7/2025) for lunch. We were seated quickly, but no server showed up. 20 minutes after we were seated, the manager came by the table, said someone would be with us shortly, and took our order. We already had plenty of time to decide what we wanted, so we ordered our drinks and food at the same time. Then nothing… There were several servers going to the tables around us, but no one checked on us. After another 30 minutes, and still no drink service at all, we started trying to get one of the servers to help us. None of them would give us eye contact or even acknowledge us trying to get their attention. I went to find that manager that had taken our order. She apologized but was useless. She could not tell us when our food would be out, and kept repeating she was sorry, but there was nothing she could do. We ended up leaving to eat at another restaurant. We waited more than an hour at a table before leaving. Never received our drinks, water, or even had a server show up at our table.

Eye candy while you eat

By Waltj-Seattle |

Derby is located a few blocks from T-mobile Park and a good place to stop and grab some food before attending a game. Also close to downtown ferry terminal. When you walk in the place grabs your attention to the car world and cars of all kinds. They even have a club membership and private area for club members. The cars stored there are really nice eye candy for the car enthusiast and the food ain’t bad either. I ordered the fish sandwich and have to say it’s the thickest fish sandwich I have ever had and had to get a to go box. The service was excellent and they seem to cover for each other versus just staying in one area. Oh yeah and grab a beer while you stare at cars or watch sports in their TV.
