Very impressed with staff. Suggestions were spot on and the veg offerings were exceptional. This is one of Atlanta's hidden spots that's under visited. I would highly recommend a visit. We have been three times over the last year and always pleased with our meal and selections. The price if very fair - I hate to say this however it's lower than I expected for the quantity and quality. So I am thrilled at the value.

Atlanta has a surprisingly large number of Indian restaurants, and a number of them are very good. The best is probably Desi Spice -- it has been around at least for two decades I have been in Atlanta, and while we try them all, we end up coming back most consistently to this one. Manny, the owner, is the best cook, though all are good -- and you are most likely to get Manny's cooking on a Monday or Tuesday night. While the food is consistently terrific, it is the service that really sets Desi Spice apart from most others.

I just gave Desi Spice in Midtown Atlanta my third and last try. I ordered the vegetable curry. It was almost tasteless, the portion was unbelievably small, it was by no means cheap, and the rice cost extra, making it the worst value I have had in any restaurant in a long time. My first two visits were not a lot better. I will not be giving them a fourth try. There are better Indian restaurants in the area.

Desi Spice is one of our favorite lunch spots (we are sure it's great for dinner as well). They have a prix fixe menu which gives you soup, entree, rice, and dessert for $6 - $7. Great service, awesome spiced ice tea. . Unlike many Indian lunch places, there's not a giant buffet tempting us to overeat. We love this place. In the heart of Midtown Atlanta, near beautiful Piedmont Park.

Desi spice gets a lot of things right about an Indian restaurant in the states. It seems clear the owners/employees are legit and they've brought a lot of the cool Indian culture into their restaurant. Anyone who may knock their layout likely has limited clue what a comparable place in India looks like. You want the religious/cultural pictures on the wall and the ever-unique videos playing in the background. Service was very attentive, no-pressure, and very professional. They lose a point because both the chicken in the curry and the nan were both too dry, but they definitely offered relatively larger portions of food. I was also amazed they included tandoori wings as part of the meal (and not a separate cost) along with dessert. I have definitely had overall better Indian food in my life, but they get a lot of things right and can come closer to perfect with some easily-fixed details.

My second visit to Desi Spic was this past Sunday. We had dinner. Started with the tandoori wings. It comes with a mint yogurt sauce. Loved it. Followed that with some vegetable dishes. The Samosa is the best I ever had! Very personable service. Wonderful food. Cant wait to return.

I’ve eaten regularly at Desi Spice and always thought of it as a second-choice restaurant. It got high marks for its location, but I didn’t find the service or food to be anything special. It was just okay. But, three recent visits have really changed my perspective. The food and service was so much better that I inquired if the restaurant had been sold. Well, no, everything’s the same as before. Two of my recent visits were at lunch and I was delighted to discover they offer lunch specials Monday through Saturday at reasonable prices. Servings are generous, service is quick and the naan is oh so buttery and crispy around the edges. My favorite lunch specials are Kashmiri Special Chicken and Kurma. Can you tell I like my food mild? But, don’t worry, there are offerings that cover all levels of heat and spice. Lunch comes with the entrée, a choice of a samosa, mulligatawny soup, onion pakura or tandoori wings, basmati rice and a sweet of the day, in my case rice pudding. It’s lots of food at a great price. The tandoori wings were a standout. I loved the sweetness of the Kashmiri Special Chicken but found the lamb in my Kurma to be fatty and stringy. Of course, the selection at night is much more extensive, including the addition of several vegetarian items, nine tandoori sizzlers, over a dozen vegetable side items, many more flavors of naan and other breads, plus sauces like raita and chutney. In the evening, entrees can be ordered with chicken, lamb or shrimp and are priced according to the type of meat you choose. Service has been very friendly and attentive and it feels like Desi Spice has upped their game. The same goes for the food. Subtle changes have taken hold, perhaps there’s more cooking to order, and it tastes better. I’m eager to return soon and see if they maintain this new sense of quality.

good food, good price, nice ambiance. Great staff. A group of 6 all had excellent meals. The soup was great !

Everything is absolutely delicious, very flavorful, and good portion sizes. I mix it up and get various vegetable dishes every time because they are all so good (of course with a side of naan and vegetable samosas). The Vegetable Dinner for 2 is a great deal with a TON of food.

The restaurant is a little hard to find because it is on the second floor of this popular shopping and eating area. Our family have eaten here countless times, the owners and wait staff all know us and if we go there without our children they want to know where they are. The sounds of Indian music and the videos from Bollywood perfectly complement the decor, but the cheesiness of it somehow seems to enhance the experience. Taj Mahal or Kingfisher beers or a Mango Lassi for the DD, start you out. The appetizers are a list of normal Indian restaurant fare, Samosas, Kebabs etc and while ok, we often opt for the pappadums with the little pots of sauce and then go for the main event. Like most Brits the chicken Tikka Masalla is a favorite and we always ask them to put in a little extra spice. All of the main dishes though are as you would expect and rarely disappoint. There is nothing fancy or haute cuisine about this favorite of ours but it is as close to the Indian restaurants that we grew up with in England as we have found, and is a casual fun place to go. As a bonus there is a bar with darts and decent beer within 20 yards of the front door and Rita's Frozen Custard just down below if you want a 'cool' dessert.

The owner is a lovely man who clearly cares about his customers and the quality of their food. Great vegetarian options, every time I go I get the veggie meal for 2 or 4, very filling and a good price considering it comes with an appetizer (samosas) and dessert (rice pudding). Try the housemade hot sauce, just a little bit goes a long way!

My son and I shared a lunch at this second floor restaurant in a busy shopping center. The parking is shared and difficult at busy meal times. The atmosphere is cramped but convivial and the wait staff knowledgeable and engaging. We both chose lamb dishes and of the two the Sag Gost was the spicier and best. Each dish came with a mound of rice and a choice of appetizer. We ordered plain Naan and the quantity was sufficient for the serving. I will definitely come back despite the parking issue to try the many other unique menu items.

Last evening, a companion and I had dinner at Desi Spice. We had each dined there once before, without much incident or acclaim. Neither of us will ever return. Something was very wrong in the kitchen, apparently, as everything we ate was overloaded with an annoying degree of sweetness. The puri shrimp appetizer, the lamb Kashmiri and the chicken vindaloo were all afflicted in this manner, and it felt like one long dessert! I don't enjoy tasting chunks of banana reminiscent of baby food with my lamb. And sweet red curry sauce is no friend to shrimp puri. The garlic naan and the basmati rice were edible; everything else made for one of the most unpleasant Indian meals I've ever had. If you dine here, please send the sweet stuff back and tell them to send the chef to re-take flavor profiles and seasoning 101.

The Tandoori chicken and garlic naan are excellent here. I also enjoyed the onion pakoras -- not sure why they are burgundy colored, but it isn't the first time in my life I've had burgundy pakoras. The service was quirky. We went for an early weeknight dinner before a movie. We were pretty much the only people in the restaurant. The quirky thing about the service? It was so...not American. It was just this Indian guy being a real person with us. He didn't have a shtick. We enjoyed our dinner and will be back.

I visited here with our family during Thanksgiving week. We came in with a large group and the staff was so great. They quickly accommodated us and were so kind. The staff was very helpful as we worked through the menu, deciding what we would all have. They even made a couple of special dishes for our children who weren't quite sure about the whole Indian food thing! When the food came out (and we ordered a lot) it was go time! The food was great. Really great. Everything from chicken to lamb and everything in between was just perfect. This was my first true Indian cuisine experience and it could not have been better. When I am back in town I hope to visit again.

Ate here tonight wih family. We ordered Malai Kofta, Naan and Masala kulcha. What we got was kofta curry instead (they have both on the menu separately) which is much spicier. Both the naan and the kulcha were chewy. Not bad but not great either. The location is right next to a pool hall and there is a Trader Joe and Mellow Mushroom in the same complex so it's in a nice area.

I was on a business meeting in Atlanta and ordered food through Grubhub. The delivery was on time and perfect. The food was so bad. The onion Pakoras were so hard and rubbery to bite. It look like re fried frozen ones from the refrigirator not fresh ones. Shrimp vindaloo never had an aloo and had lots of uncooked onions and venigar. The tails of the shrimp were burned. The shrimp was pretty hard to chew too. The Aloo Gobi was fine. Over all the food didn’t tasted like if it was made by an Indian chef. I felt so unhappy about that. The food hurt my feelings. The food was not worth my money I spent $41.00 including tip and delivery fee.

Basically it’s a Indian cousins restaurant at manroe drive northeast Atlanta. Inside space is very small. Also they have sitting arrangement @ balcony. Food is average.Waiters need to be trained. Kind of lousy.

Desi Spice is a regular lunch spot for when I am at work in Atlanta. The good is excellent, authentic and the service is spot on. Only problem is the portions are so large and the food so good, I usually eat too much. Try the samosas, the mango lassi, and the chapati.

Good for take-out. Trader Joe's next door to buy your beer or wine.

We had medium chicken curry and eggplant bhaji which we both good. The chicken curry had a very nice flavor and I would get it again! Service was attentive and fast on this one Sunday evening. The garlic naan is out of this world!! The pistachio ice cream was just okay.

This food came out piping hot and the freshest flavor I have had in Indian cuisine. The sauce was like a couple, precisely chopped vegetables and slow cooked. I will definitely come back!!

For a delicious taste of India eating at Desi Spice is a nice choice especially for lunch. However, be careful how spicy you order your dish. Although I enjoy spicy and think I am playing it safe by ordering my lamb curry “medium”, it turns out that I am in for tasty but head sweating surprise. Our lunch selection comes with a choice of samosa, soup or tandoori wings. We opt for the samosa and wings although the soup looked like it would be delicious too. Of course, it is difficult for me to eat India food without naan. The garlic naan here is awesome! I am definitely planning on eating at Desi Spice again but next time it will be mild for me or I am bringing a head towel.

...on the last night of our second great American tour and we just had to have a taste of home - an English Indian curry before we fly home tomorrow. Quick search lead us to this place, a good 20 mins from our hotel but well worth the trip out. Restaurant was not full with only a few tables occupied, who quickly left on our arrival. The service was quick and friendly, the proprietor taking time to speak to us foreigners and engage in conversation. The food was very good, responsibly priced and we'd happily recommend.

Bow, I love Indian Food, so when granddaughter and her boyfriend had been raving about this place I was eager to go. His mother joinedus, so we had the vegetarian meal for 4 along with n order of the Tandori Chicken Wings. The wings were wonderful. So were the Samoa's. The rest of the meal was good to very good but I ust saw the portions were a bit on the small side. Bthe service was grand, made us feel special. I was January and a very bitter nite outside. BUT, I thik it would be great fn to eat outside in the sping. So, yes I would love to return and ty some moredishes.

Out of the five Indian restaurants I've been to, Desi Spice has the best food and value even despite its small size. Desi Spice is located on the 2nd floor in a small shopping center somewhat near Piedmont Park. I visited during the week for lunch. For about $7, you get an appetizer, main course, and dessert. I got the samosa, a spinach/potato dish whose name I don't remember, and the fried donut-like confection. They were all delicious. I also ordered the mango juice, which was yummy. I didn't feel bad about eating the fried samosa or dessert because the portions were reasonable and not huge. I visited with three other people, and we were all stuffed when we left. I don't know how anyone could eat more food. Someone ordered naan as a side dish, and they left most of it on the table. The place is clean, and they play Bollywood music videos on TVs. We watched what appeared to be an Indian rendition of "Grease". Desi Spice also has additional seating outside.

We love this place. We probably go here once a quarter, but they always remember us, and give great service. Love the lunch specials with choice of appetizer, giant pile of basmati rice, entree, and dessert for around $8. They have a nice patio outside. Only complaint is that the staff must smoke in the restaurant before they open and I'm always aware of it when I step inside.

We took our daughter and her family (husband and two girls under 9) there right after Xmas, 2015. We shared orders and had the Tandori Chicken, Chicken Tica, Saag Lamb, Rogan Josh, three appetizers, and three orders of their Nan bread which is outstanding. The food was nicely prepared, but the prices are on the high side.

Disappointed in the dirty tablecloth at the table where I sat. The waiter only offered to replace it AFTER I tried to flip it over. Slw service about delivering a menu to me and even SLOWER for my Saturday SPECIAL to arrive. The side order was wrong, but I accepted it as time was an issue for me. The samosa was previously frozen and only barely thawed, making it inedible. The vindaloo was very hot as described in the menu, but there wasn't any other flavor to accompany the heat. The food is fairly inexpensive, however, the flavor simply left a LOT to be desired and so did the service. No return visit

For a quick check with my phone we came across Desi Spice. Very friendly and always made sure our drinks were full. They tended the beer so that we never had to pour. The food was very tasty the portions were good enough to take some home for lunch tomorrow. My wife and I will definitely be back.

The customer service is less than desirable. First, you’re sat as a couple next to a table of four that’s literally a table for 6. No need for conversation with your intimate loved one because the table of four sitting with you will provide all the entertainment while you eat. I think Desi is more interested in their take-out ordering than the real physical customers in their establishment. To add insult, the customer service was so slow we thought we’d half to leave and go somewhere else. We stayed and endured the agony of sharing our meal experience with our table mates. By-the-way, the food is just ok, and please...skip the wine selection.

Wow! Excellent food. The chicken version of the Kashmiri entree delights with tender white meat chicken in a dreamy, creamy flavorful sauce. The freshly made Peshwari Naan was buttery sweet! Nice, safe, clean location on the upper level of a new looking, modern shopping plaza with plenty of parking. You can eat outside at a table in the patio area.

I was not as impressed as the last time I visited a year or so ago. There are now many choices for ethnic food in the Atlanta are and Desi Spice needs to modernize! The food was better than OK but not fantastic the chicken in my Dhansak was overcooked and tough the spices had not permeated the meat. the sauce was a little thick. However service was good and friendly, the beer was cold and my food was served quickly. The location is very good and convenient but a little updating is suggested to make it more appealing.

Stopped in for dinner before seeing a show at the Fox. They opened at 5:30 and the restaurant quickly filled up. The food was very good and the waitstaff was very friendly. My only complaint is even though the restaurant was very clean, the wall hangings needed some dusting. The one by our table was covered in dust. We had a great meal, and would go back.

I would say - one can go here for a quick bite. I was in the city for a day, so for lunch I quickly searched for Indian restaurant - the reviews showed up bad but I still went there as it was closest to my hotel. I went there with no expectation so I was not disappointed. I only ordered for Potato stuffed Parata and Mango Lassi. I also asked for onion and pickle. Parata was heavy and oily - But i didnt mind... since I was really hungry and particularly wanted to eat aaloo parata. Again, its not like home food... but whatever I ate was not bad in taste.

We stopped in and tried five or six dishes. All were different and good. The kids were happy with the selections too!

This is an amazing place to eat Indian food at. The Tandoori Chicken Wings are mouth watering, as is the Tandoori chicken dinner. The naan is the best I have had and the shrimp biryani is VERY tasty. Service is always great here and it's a family-owned restaurant. Desi Spice gets 10 thumbs up!!

Had been to this restaurant after visiting the park with my family.. Food is ok, more of American style than indian. Please do not order the Mango Lassi it's horrible.. Nan and tandoori is ok.. The Manager is a BengalI who prefer said serving American than us.. he infact asked the waiter to not to Thank us..as our tip was less than 15%..in spite of the horrible food..

Although the food isn't the best 7/10, and the prices are ridiculously high for the dining experience, they treat you like you're in their home...for whatever that's worth to you. Quality of ingredients are below average, tables and chairs resemble discount furniture...but they're very nice.

Me and my fiancé came here to try different food we had my daughter and son with us and they told us we had to wait outside for 2 hours. And it wasn’t even full.. once we got seated we ordered food it looked like roach leg was in my entree… my daughter screamed and started crying cause she’s afraid of roaches… we left immediately no one came to apologize or anything they told us to get out cause my daughter was crying…Idk if they are racist or what but we were the only black people in there and getting treated poorly..

The food here was pretty standard Indian fare, nothing memorable. Prices are sort of reasonable, but for anyone who knows Indian restaurants, actually a little high for the portions. Service was good, but the restaurant atmosphere is pretty mediocre. Sits in a 2-level shopping center with a bunch of cafes and bars, nothing particularly exciting about the place. Wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

I love this place! small, very small, but with a big heart. As you enter, there is a crowded dining room, with a television playing some Bollywood movies, the smell of tandoori chicken immediately opens your appetite. Simple Indian dishes are cooked but the flavors are just amazing. I like the fact the waiters wear uniform, and they serve you the wine in a carafe which is unique. I some how feel transported to some small restaurant in India, I drawn in the aromas of the spices as they cooked together, I enjoy every bite of my meal, until I am reminded I am still in Atlanta. Prices are good, for this tiny little pleasure of Indian food paradise.

Desi(Asian Indian ) restaurant on a week day opened late was good. Though it was little bit difficult to find the restaurant bit it was, worth the effort.

I have been in this place at least 10 times before and after the new management. I am never disappointed. The Kashmiri Special is just wonderful. The attention is always good. This is the best Indian restaurant in the midtown area. Get your garlic Naan!!!

Vegetable dish was floating in oil. Mgt. said he'd do something about it NEXT time we came in. Won't be another.

We had a hankerin' for some Indian food and happened upon Desi Spice after venturing off the beltline. We may be spoiled by excellent Indian food elsewhere, but we weren't too impressed. The food was okay but not quite as delicious as we are used to. The service was very poor and we waited longer than anyone else who arrived around the same time as we did. One of the older waiter dudes is super clueless and aloof. Also, the amount of Grubhub, Door Dash, Uber Eats and Postmates drivers standing around waiting is kind of insane. At one point there were up to 10 delivery drivers standing among the diners. Not my favorite dining experience. We will not be back.

Have dined here a couple of times and each time have found the meals to be fine. Most recently had Tikka Masala Paneer (Home made cheese), and Tikka Masala grouper. Both were well-prepared, and spicy, without being overwhelming. Reasonably priced, good portion size, and the dishes arrived at our table within a couple of minutes of each other. Prices are reasonable. The staff here is both friendly and helpful. Desi is very convenient to movie theater as well as the iconicTrader Joes. Convenient parking lot. The view is just of the mall outside, but the interior is pleasant, and we enjoyed seeing a historical Indian pre-Mogul era drama on the monitors. We plan to come here again. Disclaimer: During a visit with our Atlanta-based member of our group, we decided to phone in a take-away dinner from Desi Spice. This is our traveling trio’s first experience with Indian cuisine. And therefore, making our decisions about what to order was what some might describe as a “shot in the dark”. Knowing nothing about Indian food, we read the description of the options and guessed what we might like. I ordered the Mixed Tandoori Platter. Our daughter had Chicken Dhansak. My wife ordered the Chicken Saag Paneer. I was pleased to discover my mixed platter included chicken dark meat rather than white meat, which I generally feel is always too dry. The tasty sauce in the bottom of my take out tray was a perfect compliment to the onions in the tray. There was an interesting and generous variety of meats in the platter, but most of the meats were cooked till they were “all done in” as the Cajun Chef might say. Had there been a little more of the tasty sauce in the bottom of the tray, it would have helped lubricate the dry meats. My wife didn’t like her meal at all and hastily declared, “I don’t like Indian food”. With all the options available in Atlanta, I’ll probably never get her to try an Indian restaurant again. My daughter said her meal was just like the description in the menu and was pleased with it. I attribute our disappointment with the food to our inexperience and lack of knowledge of what would best please our palates.

Well, I've always loved Desi Spice, so I was thrilled to find out they opened a new Indian restaurant up in Johns Creek (Alpharetta). I went, and it was awesome! OH, MY!!!! Soooo good!!! this little place is amazing! Just simply some of the best Indian food I've had in a very long time! And there are a bunch of Indian restaurants in Johns Creek, but none of them are even close. And the service was really good, too. They have an INDIAN LUNCH BUFFET, which rhymes with YAY! haha. Although, sometimes I prefer to eat off a lunch menu if there's an Indian restaurant I'm going to that has a buffet. But somehow Touch of India kept everything on the buffet fresh, even at 1:45, which is when I came in. I was impressed.

The food was okay. Service was fast, probably because we were the only ones in the restaurant for dinner at that time. Price at par with any other Indian restaurants in the area. Would chose another one next time.

Food tasted good. Great location. You are not assigned one server. Every staff comes to your table to ask how the food was. Litty bitty portions, with high price. Its midtown - what do you expect?

Did online order and pickup, service was prompt and easy, Food was delicious ! We had an array or offerings, everything was great 👍

Takeout order for family dinner. (Not the first takeout for us here). Food is delicious, reasonably priced, generous portions, courteous and hard-working staff. Great location, fairly easy access. (Check parking rules at restaurant lot.)

When i saw this place first open i said to a friend, "ooh! Indian in midtown!". He replied, "don't go there. the food is just plain bland!". I gave it 2 shots. He was so spot on. Some of the worst indian food i've ever eaten. The owner seemed nice, but the food just wasn't good. Very very bland. Kick up the spice!!

★☆☆☆☆ Disappointed Bridgette R. 1 Desi Spice I had been a huge fan of "Touch of India" until they sold it off..it became a horrible place to eat...these were the original owners(Deli Spice), so I was happy to try the new place. My favorite was always Chicken Kashmiri...OMG..DO NOT ORDER!! It was awful..it had so much gristle and fat and was extremely chewy! Naan was fine, Somosas was luke warm. Such a shame too...geuss I'll continue my search for GOOD Indian cuisine...this just isn't the place! Report Abuse Was this review helpful to you?

I can't say that I am an Indian food aficionado nor have scoured the globe in search of it, but it is the best Indian food I have had outside of London and New York. You have to look for the place (2nd floor), but well worth the search.

The food is amazing. The staff are very friendly, and the outdoor seating just seals the deal!

This used to be one of our favorite places. They changed ownership early this year, and after a couple of tries, we don't think we will be back. The food is now bland and the service is unattentive

Avoid! Desi Spice was never known for their delicious authentic Indian food. The food had always been average. Two reasons I used to visit though were friendly staff, and because it is 100 ft from my place. However, this has changed in recent months. Today I placed an order for lunch special at 1:11 pm and when I asked for a time estimate, they said 10 minutes. Anyway, I went there at 1:35 and was told repeatedly that the food is arriving in a couple of minutes. When I snapped at 1:40 saying why they did not give me the proper estimate, the manager says no place can give me food in 10 mins. Basically, I should not take the receptionist's word and use my own expertise as if I am then restaurant employee. And not even considering the fact that it was way over the 10 min period. No courtesy to offer a chair, or water, given that I am standing for 10 minutes. Instead, he was asking if I am driving for door dash. Is this the way to talk to your customers? No apologies until I snapped. What a horrible experience! Last time I set my foot in this unfriendly place.

Liked the atmosphere. Ate outside our server was very nice. Food was very quick. We were a little disappointed in our food as it was not as flavorful as we would of liked . I did mention this when it was too late or it would have been rectified. We are used to very spicy food but this was a little bland for my liking. I would like to try it again but next time tell them my preferences.

This place is in the same plaza as the Landmark Midtown Arts movie theater. Hence it was a logical choice for dinner after a movie (though there are a ton of other restaurants in this area). A friend and I had dinner here around 7:30 p.m. on a Wednesday. You access it via one of the stairways on either f the circular plaza out front (use the left stairway as you face it). You then cross to the left in front of another restaurant / pool hall and you're there. They offer interior dining and patio tables. It was pleasant (for July) so we opted to sit outside. You have a good view of Ponce City Market from there also. Their menu was fairly extensive. The didn't have what (to me) are quite all of the 'standard' Indian restaurant offerings, but they had plenty plus more obscure combinations too. If you have even a passing familiarity with Indian restaurants, you should be able to fine something here to your liking. I opted for Navratan Korma, which I enjoyed. We both asked for our dishes 'hot' but I didn't think the spice-level was too adventurous (I've had places make it hotter). The garlic naan was also very good. I'm not down in this plaza a great deal (especially over the last 15 months), but I'd definitely consider returning here before / after a movie in the future.

Went to this location after a movie at Landmark Midtown on New Year's day. The food was delicious, the service delightful, and the server, Hassan Ahmed, was a delight. He was patient, informative, gracious, attentive -- everything a diner could want in receiving service. If his manner could be cloned, every restaurant -- from diners to 4-stars -- would benefit.

This was our second time eating here. The food is cooked fresh, it's delicious, and seasoned well. I had the salmon Tikka masala, mango lassi, shrimp bhuna, and garlic naan. My wife had the lamb rogan josh. All of it was excellent. The service is on point. You do not have to ask for anything, they anticipate your wants. Lovely restaurant.

After seeing Black Panther at Landmark's Midtown Cinema, I was looking for some place to get dinner and this place was just upstairs. My friend and I were lucky enough to have gotten a table a half hour before they closed. They took our order and started bringing out our food shortly after. We shared tandoori wings, chicken tikka korai and garlic naan. Everything was really good. I also tried an Indian beer that I had not had before. The service was great. The restaurant is small and intimate. It has a lot of charm.

We just happened on Desi Spice after a movie at Mid Town Art Cinema. We though the food and service were quite good and also a good value for what we paid.
Disappointing--not worth the cost
We've gone to Desi Spice for years, but the last two times, we were very disappointed in the food. The chicken tikki masala is a very UNnatural red. Like maraschino cherry red. The portions have gotten smaller. The bread was decent--rest of the food was luke warm. Just not worth it.
