The service here is terrible!! Liked to never got waited on, then ordered drinks that tasted like koolaid !! $12.00 a drink !! Then took forever to get my change! These waitresses played more than they worked ! Ridiculous! We will never go here again !!! Beware if you stop here!!!

This was horrible shut the place down the people are rude i mean why is this ever here i was gonna go somewhere else but someone channged the plans horrible place

The location is great being right on the Riverwalk. We were able to sit outside and people watch. The food is very good. My kids were happy there were different kid menu options since the main menu items were not as appealing. The drink options are always fun and you get to keep the glasses (though this can be tough on vacation ). They waiters were funny and "rude" but knew when to watch out for kids of younger ages.

We decided to eat here our first night in San Antonio. We had a blast! Because we are from Louisiana, the seasoning wasn’t up to our standards but the food was still good overall. Our waitress yelled & we yelled. Napkin showers happened around us & we couldn’t stop laughing. Let me tell you.......if you don’t enjoy sarcastic humor or need to have proper customer service....THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU! If you’re a weirdo like us, then it’s perfect for you!!!

Okay okay you definitely cannot be an uptight person and go to this place. It’s not for the faint of heart lol Good times and jokes all around and burping is 100% allowed. Went here with a friend while visiting San Antonio and ended up having my mind blown away. Have some fun!

Like the fun of it, and our server was fun. She took great care of us. The food was not so great and took forever. Arrived late-7:30pm, late with kids even on vacation. So we were hoping to be in and out fairly quickly. The kids food was ordered and arrived in less that ten minutes-awesome. Grilled cheese was standard but the kids chicken was dry and she wouldn’t eat it. Adults ordered Mac & cheese with chicken and she ended up eating that. That dish I would highly recommended! The fried pickles were VERY salty. The crab balls were okay but nothing to write home about.

We had an average experience tonight. There were bees flying around our table the entire time we were eating. It was terrible. Food was average.. love the location.. dessert was good.

The food is pretty good. The atmosphere is fun. But you have to have a sense of humor and thick skin because it is what it is. One of a kind and decently priced. Must see when visiting

They think they're really cute, but the waiters don't talk with you - they scream at you! We were totally offended. If we're ever in San Antonio again, we most assuredly will NOT go here again!

March 11/ 3:45. NO STARS Told they were not seating until 4:10. Went to the bar. RUDE bartender. Helped himself to my husband’s change from our drink order. Finally seated at 5:00. Rude little girl at the upstairs hostess stand. When I gave her our name she leaned back and gave me a WHAT ??? Should be fired. Sat us on the balcony. Waiter referred to us as old guy & grandma. Really ??? Talked to the manager. He was sorry/ dinner on him. Rude waiter took the order. Came back. They were out of the 2 things we ordered. Seriously ??? Food was fair at best. When we left that same rude little girl shouted out bye bye to me. She should be fired. Trying to find a website for this ridiculous restaurant. Guess there would be just too many complaints. NEVER go here. It’s a joke. If you have a contact for their corporate office, please put it out there. This place should not be in business.

I will start this by saying if you are easily offended then don't eat here. We ate here because my son's MTI recommended it. The service was great. She definately made it fun for all of us. She was very much a smart ass, but it was hysterical! She made us each paper hats to wear on our heads. My dad's said, "This hat is old and wrinkly like my balls." My son's said, "I only joined to get drilled daily." He'd just graduated from USAF basic training. There were 9 of us and we laughed so hard so many times we cried. The food is your typical bar food. Nothing special. It is definatelt the atmosphere that makes this place a great experience.

Went with a group of friends. Wasn't my choice. Made the best of it, but it would nice if at least the food was great. You can't even get a hamburger in the evening!!?? And the seafood was not homemade. I don't really understand the appeal of this place but I have been twice and hopefully I don't have to go back.

The theme is sarcastic attitudes. If you can't take slightly offensive remarks, you may not enjoy it. Otherwise, it can be entertaining. Our server made funny hats for the guests. Food didn't meet our expectations. Wings were good, service was quick and efficient. Outdoor sitting by the Riverwalk is available.

We love this place. Hadn’t been here in years. It hasn’t changed a bit. A must go place if you are at the River Walk.

During a recent visit the wait staff was so overtly rude, obnoxious and vulgar that our party of 3 women left the restaurant. We represented 3 different age categories, so it isn't as though we were "elderly" as the waiter accused us of being. From the moment he walked up to our table, his rude and sarcastic behavior was not funny. When he could tell we did not appreciate it, he increased his actions and vocabulary to R rated (describing one's male anatomy) is not only NOT necessary, it is sexual harassment. I would think it would be better for the wait staff to step back from such behavior when they see the clients are insulted. He chose to become more aggressive. NOT WORTH THE VISIT UNLESS VULGARITY AND SEXUAL HARASSMENT IS YOUR DESIRE.

I know the theme is being sarcastic to the customers, but our experience also involved a bunch of lies about prices. Our waitress told us that the souvenir cups for the kids were 1.99 each. She said she had a coupon for us for a free appetizer, so we got one. When the bill came, the drink cups were not $2, a beer we got cost $12 because she brought us this souvenir beer glass we never asked for, and then the "coupon" didn't work. I wasn't at the table when my husband paid, so when he complained to me later about how expensive the restaurant was, I looked at the receipt and saw all the upcharges. The food was burnt at that. Shame on them for taking advantage of families spending their hard earned money on vacation. Buyer beware:(

Use to do some of the art work and advertising layouts for DICK'S back in the 90's. Not much has changed since then. Expect service with an attitude, but know the food will be good. Thank you Dave for the Nasty, and I mean it in a good way, service. Mike, keep up the good work!

Absolutely get what you should expect!! Wait staff, especially Gabriel and Mike, were the best. I am "Grandma" to all of them and couldn't be happier!! Yes, rude and crude, but that why you go!! Will definitely be back on my next trip to San Antonio, and will look for "Dicks" on all of my next travels!!

Visited for my Airman's graduation weekend. Great food, wait staff was awesome. Perfect amount of sarcasm and we all enjoyed our paper hats. Thank you for a great visit San Antonio! Signed, A Retired Pole Dancer

A casual dining experience for the not easily offended...fun, lighthearted atmosphere with adult libations and really good food served by sassy, spirited servers with an edge. My friend and I had a great time bantering with our server.

Came here with a friend from work. The place was indeed fun with waiters screaming, pushing people to finish early, building hats with funny phrases, etc. Don't come if you want good food. Place is a bar that servers food and it is really average or below it, Big portions, greasy, not something you'd like to repeat. Again if you have a group of friends, go there for the drinks and the fries

It's not our first visit here, but haven't been in many years. For those of you who like to be insulted, I highly recommend Dick's Last Resort for a little (well, actually a lot) of insult, and general being made fun of, in a wonderfully inventive fashion. Ask for Charles! Dick's is the proud owners of the rudest servers on the Riverwalk, and probably the whole state. There's a fair amount of PG-13 stuff, but OMG is it funny! My wife and I laughed for our entire lunch. Many years ago, our oldest kids were with us, when we visited for their first time. Their main issue was that they didn't think the server was mean enough! Just don't go there if you have thin skin. Oh, and make sure you keep the hat they make for you. It'll be a great souvenir. This time we lost my spouse's hat when our table was bussed, so that was a bummer, especially since our hats together were the real joke (which I can't put here cause it pushes the envelope...

This place lived up to its expectations. My husband has wanted to visit one of these franchises forever and this was our first chance to visit one. We thought it was fun & interestingly funny! My advice is to not be a sissy~

In the past there antics were funny and good natured so we went back. Never ever again after this last time. Instead of being funny and pleasant they have become rude and obnoxious and do and say anything they want. The kid at the door came out to my table while I had food in my hand and took my phone, took a selfie of himself next to me whipping me the finger! Hey fought with waiters and was loud and obnoxious. The waiter got nothing for a tip with his suckie attitude and the door kids antics. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere you can relax and enjoy being there. This isn't the place any longer.

Was there with wife and cousin...we had an awesome time...our wait person was fantastic...had us laughing the entire time. Service was great. Menu and food was so so.

Best restaurant ever and the workers were funny The food was really good and not that long of wait time

My daughter and I were doing some college visits in San Antonio and I wanted to give her so.e fun, so we stopped at Dick's! Food was good, but atmosphere and insults/hard time was amazing. My daughter left with a huge smile, so it was a success.

We visited Dicks Wednesday May 31st for lunch. I'm rating this 5 stars for the experience not the food. The food is average but the atmosphere is fun. We sat outside right by the water. Sam was our waitress and she was rude and completely hilarious. She kept calling my husband "princess". We laughed the whole time. If you get your feelings hurt easily then don't go but if you can laugh at yourself then go and have a good time :)

The wait staff are suppose to be rude- it is part of the kitch; however my 5 year old wanted a cheese quesadilla; they have cheese on the menu as well as tortillas but REFUSED to make her one. Nothing like disappointing a 5 year old on Christmas Eve day. Service was a bit slow; too pricey for what you get. Nice to be able to sit by river.

we had a lunch here with friends and family and we all had a blast. Sam, our waitress did an excellent job dishing out rude and sarcastic behavior. nothing too over-the-top but was a lot of fun and we give it back to her.. We had a lot of fun. And the food was OK.

Dick’s is a fun place to go with friends & just have a laid back time. The food is OK but the most enjoyable thing is the atmosphere. People are just having a good time. Go somewhere else if you don’t have a since of humor. I do like the ribs & fried fish.

Dining at Dick's is a hoot! We prepped our grandchildren ahead of time to expect "rude" behavior, insults, and adult language from the staff, but that it was all part of the fun and experience. The kids giggled at the large paper hats with insulting verbiage and promised they wouldn't 'repeat' words that they heard over the course of the meal LOL (especially to their parents!). The food and beverages were really tasty and the overall vibe was just lots of fun!

This is place to go to dinner if you are in the mood for laughs & a good time more than a gourmet meal. Imagine Groucho Marx as your waiter insulting you & your party as they serve you & you will get the idea of Dick's Last Resort. This is not a place for the meek & mild-mannered visitor. It is a place to go if you want to be entertained by your waiter in a very funny manner.

My husband, myself and our kids ate here and it was hilarious. You pay for crap service but it's a fun time anyway. My kids had a great time and loved the strawberry milk. The food is good as well. We are planning on returning!

Upon arrival, there was a 10-15 minutes wait in line. The host directed us to the bar for seating, but there were no available seats. When I politely approached a server for assistance, they rudely dismissed my request. After seeking help from another employee downstairs, the initial hostess asked us to leave and rejoin the waiting line outside the restaurant. Overall, the customer service was extremely poor, with rude and uncooperative employees. Won't return or recommend!!

Dicks last resort is a great place for irreverent humor. The crabby balls are awesome. I had the ribs which were awesome as well. I took my wife and 3 boys there. Everyone had a great time and a great meal. Not a bad price.

Relaxing place with a great atmosphere! The host and wait staff keep you laughing with witty humor and hats with funny descriptions on them. Lots of shade and a great view of the boats as they float by on the River Walk. I recommend sitting outside versus inside due to the unique atmosphere.

This is a fun, rowdy place to enjoy good music, with better than OK comfort food. Dick's is not the place to go if you want something upper class or a stuffy environment. Relax. Have fun. Enjoy.

Worst service ever! Stopped in expecting a fun experience and pretty much got ignored. Like if you’re an older couple of customers you’re not worthy of the “Dick’s experience. “ Had a great time at Dick’s in Chicago and thought it was hilarious. Not here. Might have had another drink but server never came back. And they were just standing around. Literally had to get up and ask for check. Have never, ever stiffed a server, but gave $1.00 to make a point.

My husband wanted to try Dick's Last Resort for a bite to eat and a beer. We were prepared for good fun and a teasing playful server. While our waitress was playful, and our drinks on par, everything else was just blah. Two of the three meals we ordered were completely wrong. When my husband went to let our waitress know, a different waitress actually got pissed and started yelling at him, and not in the playful "your at Dick's" kind of way. She was just being an honest to goodness jerk. Our actual waitress was happy to correct the mistake, but even then the food was not good. McDonald's would have been better and would not have cost over $100 for 3 people. My advice would be this is a great place to have a drink, but skip the food entirely.

This place is not for the weak at heart! The atmosphere is degrading and obnoxious and totally worth the wait. The servers are rude and their intention is for you to be treated with no respect! The whole experience is hilarious and great fun! I would go again and wait two hours. The food is ok but the beer is ice cold!

food was really good even though our waiter was a little slow catching on. We only had appetizers but they tasted pretty darn good.

service was attentive, but food was nothing more than bar quality . We were here for lunch. repeat, lunch..not dinner or late drinks, but lunch at 12.30 on a saturday afternoon. strange atmosphere to eat in as staff is rude, vulgur, crude and suggestive etc as part of their Shtick. you def need a sense of humor to deal with them because it was non stop. at one point during meals, the server makes the diners hats to wear..most with homophobic sayings on them. My "hat" was meant to cover my face and only had a hole for the mouth..and the hat said "insert "dicks" here". my god..im all for having a little fun, but it was really over the line for me. would def not recommend or return to this chain restaurant now that i know what is involved in the dining experience. there was a table with little kids next to us and crowds of families, seniors, kids strolling by this riverside restaurant. One couple went by and the host screamed and hooted at the woman and yelled how much he wanted to "see her boobs on him". Our server propped himself up next to me and asked have i ever seen a "tamale wagon"..then he proceeded to shake his groin. overall struck me as place for frat boys and people who find that kind of stuff funny..i consider myself a person with a sense of humor that does not take things too seriously and this place was too much for my taste.

I've been to restaurants like this over the years but this was the worst experience. I did not like the first table they gave us, it was right by the kitchen, so I asked for another table. They sat us upstairs which was fine, but before we sat down I noticed a prime table on the patio overlooking the riverwalk and asked to sit there. They said no, we're not moving you a third time. That table sat vacant for the next half hour. I get that the concept is to be rude and obnoxious to the guests, but when the lovely hostess flipped me both middle fingers when I looked at her, that was the low point of the experience. The hat experience is funny, but if you enjoy gnawed chicken wings and soiled napkins on the floor by your feet, scummy dirty tables, an aroma of stale ketchup, low quality overpriced food, and wait staff that can't get a job anywhere else, then this is the place for you. There are a hundred better places to eat on your San Antonio riverwalk vacation, don't waste your time or money at this dump. And definitely don't bring the kids.

So if you didn't know what to expect when you got here, too bad for you. I went with a group of friends and had a blast. Our waitress was great, insults, dozens of straws, and possibly thrown food? The service was better than expected so a decent tip was given. Sorry to all who expected a regular restaurant, but here, the customer is always wrong, and still given great service.

Dicks Last Resort on Riverwalk San Antonio was a blast!! Waiters and bar tender were very entertaining and full of energy! It’s all in fun and looking forward to our next trip!

First time eating here and of course, you are at first a bit taken aback by the "atmosphere". The staff sling insults and rudeness on purpose, non-discriminating - and they know their audience. No profanity with the families and kids. But it was very loud and the "experience" only goes so far when the food is mediocre bar food at best.

Food was average as all Dick Last Resort are. The true disappointment came on the drinks, six martinis , each martini came with glass half filled, so I'm thinking they are strong, nope! I didn't get a slight buzz. I read before going , that all Riverwalk restaurants water down the drinks, I've experienced this and know it to be true..,, what a waste of money

First off, when we arrived the restaurant was not busy at all but it was difficult for the hostess to find us a table. That should have been our first clue to leave immediately. Second, our waiter was absolutely terrible. I understand the atmosphere having been to a few different Dick's last Resort in the past, but he was over the top rude and crude. The food was horrendous! My children's school cafeteria food probably tastes better than what we were served. Save yourself some money and don't stop here. It really truly is your "last resort."

Jonathan was my knight in shining armor tonight. He was our waiter, and when I mentioned that I was a single mom and that's why me and my 3 kids were drinking water and sharing entrees, he PAID my entire bill. I was in shock! He refused any sort of tip as well. Such a kind, amazing human being. The food was tasty and my kids enjoyed the good natured smack talk also.

I was never so shocked in my life as to when we were here the staff is very rude and they throw your food on the table and it is not a very nice place to take the out of t own guest or family with children.

We had dinner here with 13 friends. We enjoyed the interaction with the wait staff and the hats they made for us. There was a variety of food from hamburgers, salads, seafood and barbeque. Everyone enjoyed the food. The drinks were good too and we got to talk our glasses home. A fun experience.

I have never, NEVER been treated like this at a place before and if you are into the kind of place where they insult you on purpose and mock you in front of everyone and treat you like you should not have stopped in, they you should not have stopped in. If that is what you like, then by all means, this is Mecca for you. But if you want any kind of decent food and good service at all....go somewhere else. This place should be ashamed of themselves and it is a sad state of affairs that people actually put up with treatment like this, shows what society has turned into I guess.

Staff is not only fun but entertaining and full of energy. Stopped here for an early lunch with two of my friends and we laughed the entire time. The food was good too! If you haven’t been please go!

The food is just ok. The servers are expected to be rude and they put crude saying on a hat for you to wear. It's just not for me.

We ate at this spot on a crowded Sunday night. We had to wait an hour to be seated. The food was good and their was lots of laughter in the place. We sat at an outdoor table and the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. They put hats on your head although our waiter didn't give us one. When I asked about it, she said, we didn't ask for one. Well the entire time we were waiting, noone asked for one, but she gave them all one. Other than that, all was good.

Based on recomendations my wife and me decided to have lunch at this place. The first thing we noticed was an agressive reception by waiter, urging to pick a table (the place was almost empty). As soon as we sat, he came to take our orders with no time even to handle the menues. Next, he starts working on two hand made chef hats, one for each of us, in which he writes offensive words and phrases. When we told him we felt disrespected, he did not apologize, just said that was his job. Of course, we left the place immediately, Practical jokes are for people you know, not for every person in the world.

So this place is a laugh from the moment your insulted at the door... Yes its insulting or offensive, but thats the fun of the place. We got to know our waitress and the front of house dude, and they were really nice people once you get past the act they put on at the start. We ate and drank and people watched as we sat outside, and enjoyed the show of people who laughed and got angry or were not impressed... all part of our entertainment.... harmless fun.. we loved it

We hadn't been to Dick's in quite a while and decided to eat there on a very busy Saturday night. We had to wait for a while for a table for 6 but it wasn't too bad. Waiter was great and food was good.

Rowdy, not funny, loud....must have few cocktails to tolerate.....long time for food to arrive, but great for the kiddies!

Our son and daughter-in-law insisted that we take lunch at Dick's Last Resort on the River Walk. The food was excellent. The service was very good during a very busy time of day. But, the atmosphere and crude culture and comments by our server were not appropriate for our 12 year old grandson. I was disappointed that they felt this was a good venue for such a young kid. Having said that, had a good meal despite the crudeness. They are true to their word about what they do, so I cannot fault them for that. For my wife and I, we'll look elsewhere next time and leave that atmosphere to others who like that type. The food was quite good and plentiful. It isn't inexpensive, though. Be forewarned. Go with an open mind.

The only reason I come here is for the service. It is the only place I can say what I want without offending anyone and in turn they can say what they want to me without any hard feelings. The service is always great, but the food is getting worse. If you have to put that much BBQ sauce on your meat then that means all you did was bake it without any seasoning. I mentioned this to the server and he said "Welcome to corporate BBQ" LOL. Fifty seven dollars later, not including tip, I can say we paid for the great entertainment rather than the food. It makes me feel better that way.

Surprisingly our waitress did an excellent job even while trying to be rude and obnoxious. We visited on a Friday and they were very busy. The food was decent but for price I'd go elsewhere!

Friends invited us to try this location, which is well known for the verbal abuse the waiters give patrons. Ask for napkins and they're likely to rain down on your table when the servers throw them your way. The later it is, the more humiliating the hats they'll make you wear. The beer is cold, portions are pretty generous and there fish and chips I ordered were really good. Not the place for a romantic dinner or for bringing friends who are easily embarrassed, but plenty of fun.

We had a group of 38 cheerleaders and family and they wanted to go to DLR ( Dicks Last Resort). I called two days prior to arriving and found out we were not the only people trying to go there on a Saturday evening. Well unfortunately they were booked up with reservations. But the lady put us on a preferred seating list and recommended I have my group of 35-40 arrive 30 minutes ahead of time. My group did and they got us all 38 of us in together 10 minutes before we had asked. I was very impressed. We got sat upstairs and we had one waitress. I got very nervous. But I’ll sum it up with she was great took everybody’s drink order and with a little help from our group got it spot on. Took our food order and almost got it perfect. I mean with 38 different orders I’m good with only 3 small mess ups. She entertained us and everyone played along with it. The food is OK. If your going here for a great meal stay away. Food is good but the entertainment is top notch.

Drinks were very expensive! ($24 for a margarita) and watered down. Food was also expensive and small portions.

If you don't know what you're getting in to, you may get offended. However, they do warn you that it is service with sarcasm. 4 of us went for my fiances birthday and had a blast. Our waitress was amazing and even the manager came over to wish my fiance a happy birthday and buy him a drink. I love this place for the drinks and entertainment. Food is decent. Overall great experience.

First of all, I have been to Dick's here and in other cities. I always knew what I was in for. In fact, they tell you beforehand. My kids are older, and I know they have a sense of humor so I took them. I actually like the other location better and I think it was more appropriate so that unwilling customers are not drawn in. Since we live in SA, we don't venture down to the Riverwalk much, but we wanted to see the Christmas lights. Despite the fact that our waiter was cool in the expected rude, vulgar way, I was a little disappointed in the food. It was just average, and unfortunately spendy. Same with the drinks.

First of all, if you are easily offended, pass right by this review AND Dick’s Last Resort! I was soooo happy to see this restaurant as I used to go to one at Bayside, Miami! Hilarious! The object of the staff is to insult you as they certainly wait on you, making sure you have everything you need! Plus some extra vinegar! A rip roaring good time where you end up meeting, laughing and chatting with everyone around you. I would recommend a sign outside the venue warning patrons.

The food was OK stuff. My burger was just good, nothing out of the ordinary. The insults were not very original or funny. I expected more Don Rickles and what we got was more like junior high level abuse. Maybe with the right wait person it would be more fun... I won't go again, but I know some folks have a great experience,

This is exactly what the DOC recommended to relieve the stress. Great food, great drinks and crazy fun people working here. The MENU has a lot of selections. I have been here several times, but this is the FIRST time in the new location of the Riverwalk... Tried the steak and shrimp and was great. The best part is the tasty GREEN BEANS.....

Went in here with my family heard it’s a banter place but from the minute we sat down we were abused and ridiculed as we were not ordering alcohol! The waitress threw the menus at us Hence we got up and walked out We spent $300 at another place a few yards away so they lost out My advice don’t go as the staff are morons!

Went there for dinner last night and it was just ok. Our servers Kay and Mark were both outstanding and kept the energy level and service very high. Sadly the food was very average too not so good. The chicken breasts were dry and tasteless. The shrimp looked tired and not so fresh. Overall this is a unique place with an awesome concept. Sadly the food needs major improvements.

Cool experience, most servers knew how to take the piss with quality banter. Overpriced drinks and there was some confusion over whether or not I could sit outside. Some of the waitresses lacked humour.

Be prepared..... The servers come acroos rude but they really aren't. It's like a dinner show.. The food is great, staff and entertainment is great! Highly recommend. If you are easily offended...then you will not like this place but Go with an open mind and a fun attitude! And you will Love this place!!!! And you will Love the staff!!! And the food!!!!

Did not know that this place is known for RUDE servicers. Tried to get a beer on a hot day on the River Walk in San Anatinio.. Was told "Go sit down , that is what the servivers are foe I do mean he said for. " You only goin to order beer and no food and leave." Sat down and the servers refused to come and take our order. DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING TREATDE IN A RUDE WAY. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THAT WAY ON VACATION OR IN MY LOCAL TOWN THAT WAY.

We were walking by on the river walk.... There was a lady outside trying to get people inside into the restaurant.... Well, she starts in on us making vulgar comments... They were funny yet very inappropriate since I had my young daughter standing right there. Then she started in on my son and almost had him in tears.... So, we kept walking.. Well later that night the older ones of our group wanted to go back to see what the hype was all about.. We left the kids with an adult from our group at the hotel. Well, our waiter sucked. Not in the way they are supposed to, but he just wasnt funny or good at his remarks to us.. All the other tables were laughing and being harassed, yet still served in a timely manner and had funny hats. We never got the hats where they write something about you on it. Im glad to have given it a try, but would probably not ever go back.

The food was not good and the staff were not polite and professional. Overall a bad experience. There are many better places on the river walk.

Great fun place. The food was very good. My kids loved the wait staff. If you know going in the atmosphere everyone will have a great time.

Granted, the city was packed for the final four. I enjoyed the staff and the intentional "gruff" treatment (intentional), but the place was dirty and the food was average.

I was there with my family(some of whom disabled) and was treated like trash instantly, my brother didn't know the theme of the place, so after being greeted with insults by the waiter he talked smack back, while I was explaining him the theme the waiter threw his bag on the ground... They REFUSED my dog Nelly water... really? I understand waiting a bit and it not being a priority but this is just evil... We decided to change tables to get away from the sun and for easier access for my legless father who has diabetis and they told us to leave, we thought it was just banter, but the waiter came back 10 minutes later with our orders and he SPILLED THEM IN THE TRASHCAN and said "Leave, it was not a joke" as he was spilling entire drinks(which we haven't even paid for) so we left... He was following us around and shouting he doesn't give a crap and that he was bothered by my cousin having his camera out.

Had a late dinner, and this was one of the few restaurants open. What a fun place!! They give you tall paper hats with some off-the-wall writing on them. We enjoyed the food, the waiter, and they also had music. We enjoyed our evening there.

While the staff was really nice, as we were waiting in line my wife and daughter went to the restroom. The restrooms and restaurant were so filthy we got out of line and went somewhere else to eat.

Grew up in New Braunfels thirty minutes from San Antonio. Love the Riverwalk. Been to Dicks many times at their former location. Always had fun and great experience. Not one bad time on the Riverwalk until last night. The receptionist outside tells us to go up the stairs to another receptionist who has a prepared speech about drinks and keeping the glasses. We couldn’t hear her as she was turned away from us while talking. We saw tourists with paper hats thinking they were fun. We decided to go somewhere else. As we walk out the door minding our own business a wait staff person tells us to come back on senior citizen day. My response was that we were never coming back. So he says other rude remarks and it goes downhill from there with two other wait staff joining in and laughing at us. The wait staff enjoys making fun and bullying people. If they want to do this and call it fun...so be it. In fact, they want you to complain. I think they get a bonus when this happens. We just won’t come back and whoever thinks this is good for business show me how it works. The manager told me he regularly has to talk to guests about the fact that this is their theme—maybe if you can’t be known for good food, be the worst restaurant in town type of thing. On the other hand I see someone one day getting so upset at the stupid remarks, they deck the wait staff. That I think would be FUNNY. Other than that don’t waste your time unless you are a tourist and like to look like a fool on the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk. If so Dicks your kind of place.

Spent 2 evenings at Dicks while attending alamobowl game. The bartenders worked their butts off - great atmosphere!

HI FOLKS, we had lunch at the last resort and we were heading out of town and , soooo dug the atmosphere , the crass talk and the staff!!!! The food is good and the people are great, stop by have a bite , drink or whatever floats your boat!

I was hungry and a burger sounded good when we walked past Dick's Last Resort on the River Walk. However, they were "all out" of the burger I ordered and I had to settle for something else. Prices were high for the dry burger, but, the fries were hot, fresh and tasty, the burger was large, and the dill slices were the best I have had. The waitress came across as rude and loud, which, must have been expected in this bar's persona. We sat on the picnic tables beside the river, the one redeeming quality. I would not eat here again if I ever came back to The River Walk.

We were told by a waiter cleaning a table, to go the door podium Greeter at 9:10pm to then be told that they are closing in 45 minutes, have two other people on the list and to wait on the side. The restaurant was empty and plenty of open seats outside. If these two people don’t show up then he would see. We left and ate at a restaurant who acknowledged us right away. This was the second day in a row to be turned away close to 9pm and the place not busy. Two workers were already wiping down tables. We should have been asked if we were dining in or ordering to go. The impression was don’t want to be bothered. Around 10:10pm, on our way down the river walk we passed by again to see people (MORE) seated and being served. They looked to be celebrating with white chef hats with writing. Shocked and disappointed.

Drinks were garbage...literally NO alcohol, but I thinks its part of the Dick's concept "we gave you a drink with no alcohol" LOL. Our waiter was great, he kept us laughing. Food was a bit pricey...but it was a great experience.

The food is just ok but great place to unwind and just laugh. Everyone needs some of that now a days. Coby was very funny and we had a great time.

The atmosphere was great, all the "team" were so accommodating and fun, food was huge but great! Excellent all round.

We always take new people to Dicks when we come to San Antonio. I was dissapointed of the location change this time. It is a little ways down the riverwalk than the old location but much smaller. They don't have a stage area any more and the tables are very close together. Service was "terrible" as always but you have to consider the restaurant and why you go there. :)

Very popular eating spot/fun spot on the River Walk. Known of this place for a while but just never went it. We visited 3 weeks ago...found the crowd boisterous and having fun...Dick's thing is that you will get insulted by your wait staff and they are pretty funny...everybody was laughing and all the customers were enjoying the comedy that the staff puts on...it is a little bawdy but you can take the kids in...food was really good and everything I saw on other orders looked very good. This is a fun spot and an experience to enjoy. If you are thin skinned and can't take a ribbing don't go there. We laughed the whole time and the staff was one of the reasons. They are good at what they do and keep up with a lot of orders very well...

Our first experience at a Dick’s and they didn’t disappoint. Our waiter nailed it. He was rude and funny and perfectly dick-like. Food was great and our margarita for two was yummy. Prepare to be insulted and to laugh. Highly recommend everyone try it once.

We waited for a table about 20 minutes. A table was open and didn't understand why we couldn't be seated there. Later, we were seated at the open table. Very confusing and frustrating.I was appalled when the server came to the table and threw silverware down and told us to pass it around! Then, I was told they were suppose to be RUDE. This attitude was difficult for me, but finally began to have fun with it. Some of the hat comments were a little raunchy for children in the restaurant. Prices for food was more than fast food, but we were on the Riverwalk. It was very loud! Probably wouldn't go back because I prefer a different type of restaurant. If our wait for a table was part of the rudeness, they should change their seating policy.

Had a fun time! If you get insulted easily then this is not the place for you! But I loved it!! Laughed the whole time with the fun of it all!! Great drinks!!! Raspberry crush to die for!!

We had a really great bartender and a great waitress. Food is just average people go there for the experience. Some waitresses are better than other. Plan on getting insulted which is what it’s about. If I was a waitress I’d work there, you don’t take crap, you dish it out

This is a fun place to go with a group...especially if your in SA for a convention. The food is nothing special, but it's a fun atmosphere with rude, obnoxious and hilarious waitstaff. If you've had a few cocktails already, you'll like this place even more. Great location on The Riverwalk!

YES YOU AND YOUR PARTY WILL BE INSULTED. That is why it so entertaining to go to Dick's Last Resort. It is SO entertaining, it is addictive. I wouldn't go any place else.

The experience overall was poor. Although, the wait staff and the service was fun... the food was horrid. This place is only good for a quick drink and appetizer. Don't try this for dinner. Love the insults tho.

Never heard of this place but as it was empty we stopped for a drink. I can take a joke but don't think the staff could carry out the banter and resorted to being downright offensive. Food not brilliant and overpriced. Avoid if at all sensitive

Okay this place is always fun for me! I come to see and hear how insulting their staff can be! All said, this is another chain Restaurant with merely average food and ambiance. Their Riverwalk location is unique and attractive for its patrons. Our waiter really made our experience fun and quiet honestly, he was the BEST WAITER we had during our Riverwalk experience! Great, fun, great service, okay food for me :)

I love the concept of this place. I have a great sense of humor. We got to experience the vibe. Waiter pretended he forgot who ordered each drink. Made my kids taste each one then say who's drink it was. Threw straws on our table. Made it rain napkins. Blah blah blah. But. . At $15 and $20 bucks per plate of seafood I expected something tasty. Absolutely horrible food. And how do you complain about it when the vibe is to have fun? Felt trapped / bullied into accepting worse than dog food. I will never go back and will tell all of my friends and family DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

It was my first time, and it definitely was interesting and fun recommend go with a group. The food was good seafood platter could have been little larger. Once they go busy it seemed like forever for the food to come out.

I know the staff are supposed to be rude and that is totally fine and that was not the problem at all. We were told 30 minutes for a table we waited 56 minutes. We then waited 53 minutes for our food that was barely warm at all. Not worth the trip

We enjoyed time at the bar upstairs with Mike.Wanted to go back after our ghost tour but sadly we were unable. We will be bavk and looking for Mike!

Great service and time while at restaurant. Had a blast would highly recommend and ask for him as your waiter!!

Came here expecting to be insulted, played with, told crude jokes. Instead, got a server who was almost too polite. Got the usual hats but other than that...Server next to us just the opposite. Food okay with limited menu, but portions large. Little pricey. Is right on the riverwalk which was pleasant. Just a one timer.

We went on the 4 th and 5 th. Great experiences both times. There was a family of three who did nothing but complain. As we were leaving I told them they should have read the signs before they came in. If you are that much of a snob. We don't need you at a fun place. My husband and I split a Chicken Sammich. It was done perfect. Today we had a great meal. I ordered Fish and Chips and my husband had another Sammwich. Wait staff have to put up with so much. They were GREAT. Prices are reasonable. We will go back .

My significant other has always told me we needed to visit a Dick's location because they're so much fun. I love the concept and idea for the restaurant chain. However, my first time being inside any location was rather disappointing. I expected to have a waiter be a "Dick" to us. Our waiter didn't say two words to us. Didn't give the experience you expect when going into a restaurant like this. Our food came quick which was nice. The waiter waited to write on paper hats until he was giving us the check. There was NO interaction with him whatsoever. No jokes made. Nothing. We were in the restaurant for maybe 30 minutes. We were expecting to sit down and have a good laugh. Instead, we felt like a major inconvenience. The gentleman seemed as if he truly hated his job. Who knows if we will be back. We will more than likely travel to the Dallas location. Hopefully the experience will be better.

Food is way overpriced and not that great. Don't order a draft beer unless you want to pay for an overpriced glass with it. Would recommend to no one.

If you've never been to a Dick's Last Resort, do yourself a favor and do some research. It's one of those places where the staff is mean to you on purpose, but it's hilarious! As soon as we sat down at our table my wife thanked the hostess for getting us a high chair and the girl looked right at her and said "Whatever, lady." It was perfect! Our waiter's name was Davy Gravy and he was absolutely a blast to have. The funniest part of the whole experience was one of my friends ordering the fish and chips. When it came, there was no tar tar sauce. When she asked for some he said "yeah yeah, it's on the way." In reality they were out of tar tar sauce completely! We were still laughing about it hours later! I will say that not everyone is built to eat at Dick's, but we had a great time and would definitely go there again. Oh, and the Dos Ritas are dangerous!

Been here several times in the past, but this was the most disappointing. What happened to their food. I ordered the Capt's platter and got 4 small shrimp, 3 small crabby balls, and 2 pieces of cod that looked like fish sticks. The cole slaw was just slaw with mayo. Their food used to be much better not only in quantity but quality..

I went in knowing their reputation is to be rude. But this was beyond belief. Terrible customer service and food is not even that good. Do not go here. There are much better places with nicer people. Dont waste your hard earned money on this.

You gotta know what you are doing if you go here. The staff will be crass, rude and even vulgar, but if you play along and retort accordingly it will play out. The food is better than average. The service can be a bit slow, because the staff will rather "play" then wait on patrons. It is a bar where stuff happens. That is the hook. It is always a good time. Know what you are getting into, if not, you might be shocked.

don't go here if you don't like being insulted for no reason. But I guess that's their motto. Place suxx anyway

Waiter could have been more dramatic, food way overpriced and lacked Flavor. Expected a lot more at this iconic place..

Went with large group, ages 13 to 70. Have never laughed so hard while enjoying my dinner. TJ is a great entertainer as well as a waiter.

Dick's Last Resort is a restaurant to go to for a lot of fun. Crazy waiters & waitresses that seem to really enjoy the zaniness. The food is okay but not the real draw to the restaurant. Right on The River Walk & worth going too for a fun time.

I was a bit irritated at first before I figured what Dicks is about. Sam was our waitress she was rude and fun. She was however considerate of the minors. Food was ok but drinks were a bit expensive. Would go back there

This is a fun restaurant and bar to eat at. The staff has issues which is part of the experience. They are rude and basically treat you like a d*. It’s fun messing with them too. You can sit inside or outside next to Riverwalk. I prefer outside where the scenery is nice and more enjoyable. The food is good where I had chicken and fries. It’s not a 5 Star restaurant and more pub food. The drink menu items are decent where I had a draft local beer. One of their trademarks is making hats out of butcher paper and your server will write a funny message on it. This is more an adult hangout but do so some kids and the nasty mouth servers have fun with them too. So if you tired of Mexican food or fine dining then check out this place and have a great time!

Went to Dick's because it looked like fun. Was forewarned by the website about the obnoxious behavior of the staff as part of the ambiance. The advertising was correct, and it was a lot of fun. The food was good and the crafted cocktails were good if a little light on alcohol. Our waitress was a hoot. She asked if we minded getting picked on and the fun was on. Not a good place for impressionable kids or thin skinned adults, but the place is a kick and ultimately very friendly.

We've been to several Dick's Last Resorts before, so we knew what we were in for when we arrived. We took in a late lunch and were seated on the third floor - well above the River Walk. Our waiter was fun and friendly and kept us on our toes during our visit. His "hats" were hilarious! The food at this restaurant is typical of the other DLR's we've been to before, so no surprises there. I think it would have been more fun during closer to peak hours, but we still enjoyed ourselves.

This place is known for it's "unusual" customer service. Waiter told us first thing "If you are easily offended, hyper-sensitive or politically correct, you need to leave and find a different place to eat!" We had a great time and the food was very good!

We had heard about this place and how rudely they treat you, so we were looking forward to this. Unfortunately, our server was way too nice. I guess normally that would be a good thing, but we were looking forward to the rude and sarcastic experience.

I hadn't heard much about this restaurant before going there, but it wasn't really my kind of place. They add to the "fun" environment with servers who are rude, insulting and sarcastic. Nothing that I appreciate in any setting. They made large paper hats for guests with some funny and some kind of gross sayings. There were business people there for an event, and the hats placed on the table went over like a lead balloon with many of them. The place was in need of a good cleaning, and the food was just so-so. I don't plan to return.

Great food, great fun! If you are uptight and a clean freak this is not the place for you. We were able to share the appetizer platter and a barbecue platter. It was plenty of food for all of us. My favorite was the fried pickles.

First of all no one ever goes to Dick's Last Resort for gourmet food; they go for the fun. I've been to a Dicks Last Resort before (Minneapolis...napkins thrown at patrons, the floor covered with paper etc). I prepared my friends for the experience, and they were ready for the back and forth banter back with the staff. The younger gals in our group (teenagers) were anticipating the "hats" we would all receive. My friend immediately started BSing with the server and his response was to apologize; that he got paid to act a certain way. We responded with "yah, we know...we're ready". Perhaps we offended the server? Or maybe since we were ready for fun it was decided not to provide it? We had to ask for the hats for the younger ones in our group. The rest of us did not receive them. The drinks were good. Our silverware was tossed a bit. I'm sorry to say it was the quietest restaurant experience we had in San Antonio; even the Starbucks in our hotel had more sass.

I've been going here for over 15 years, although sometimes years go by between visits. If you're not familiar with the concept, you are forewarned that the name "Dick's" means the waitstaff will be curt and maybe even downright rude. What is really fun is to take someone who knows nothing about the restaurant and wait until they comment about the staff being rude. Food is good, lots of fun going on, and the place being open for so long is a tribute to this place being a kind of institution.

Loved the place.. 1st time visiting and it will not be the last. I’m in the restaurant business and it was awesome seeing and hearing servers talk to guest. I gave as much as I got from our server and it seemed to fuel her fire. I ordered the Ribs and Wings combo and enjoyed it very much. It was a great visit. The only thing it needs is more staff but so does all of America. We will be back…

Good basic food, and outstanding comic abuse by the wait staff. A great place to go for comic relief!

I will start off by saying that we went on a Monday at 2:00 so that was our fault. The waiter was really funny and we had good service. My problem was with the food. It was pretty expensive which I know it all is in this area but it wasn't very good. The giant Margarita was good. The appetizer sampler was ok but I had the fish and chips and it was pretty rough. I will try them again at night when I'm sure the atmosphere is better.

To all those writing reviews about Dick’s and how they embarrassed their kids or are rude, maybe look up what place you are going to. Dick’s is know for the staff being funny and rude. My kids and family would go every year for cheer competition. The food is just that of any bar, fair. But we have always gone for the atmosphere. If you go around 8:00 pm, they do music that they have everyone sing along to. This place is great for family and adults, if you have a sense of humor. I wish we had more Dick’s around! 😛😝😜🤣😂😂😂

A lot of this experience hinges on the skill of the waiter to make mildly rude banter. The name of the restaurant is "Dick's", so I don't quite understand those who are complaining that they are offended by the comments of the staff. That is the whole point of the place, so why did you come here? We had a somewhat large group and our waiter was great at joking around with each person at appropriate levels. Some could take more, while others were more reserved. The waiter was great at adjusting the jokes to our level of comfort and not offending anyone. The food was good, not quite great, but worth it for the atmosphere. I came with all adults and I'm not sure why people would bring kids here as the name of the place is somewhat vulgar in and of itself. I would definitely come back to this location.

Best Crappy Hour on the river walk. We laughed so hard all 3 nights of our visits. Cheap drinks and great chicken tenders. (Don't call them chicken fingers here !) Yep we were yelled at. Menus thrown at us. The gay waiter told me my boobs weren't working for him. The next night I was mistaken for a porn star. (I should've went with it and gotten free drinks) They danced and hollered at the boats. And best of all .... we had so much fun we kept coming back. Do not miss. Just leave your feelings at home !!

Based on our previous visits to the location before they moved off the river walk for a while we were very excited to see it back on the river walk. So naturally we be lined for it which turned out to be a huge mistake. The only thing good about this visit was our server was fantastic, the food stunk, the margaritas stunk, the place was filthy from the night before. Not worth the visit!!

There is one thing about being sarcastic but there is another about just being a bad server. We were told to wipe our own table off as it had just got done raining out, ok cool with that. Menus thrown at us, and waited ????minutes to order a drink, after????minutes to get the drinks, ordered food... after receiving food asked for more sauce again ????time waiting for more sauce, server haulers back your not at a 5 star restaurant. (Never did get the extra sauce) I do understand the concept about being rude & sarcastic but shouldn’t there be a line where you can get the customer what they need to? After all the customer is the one paying the bill🤷♀️😂

Ate dinner here after people we met earlier in the day crowed about how much fun they had the night before. We arrived for dinner about 7:30PM (not too late). The greeter was funny and bawdy, which made excited to eat there. And a large gathering of people two tables over were having a blast, with wild paper hats and funny things written on them. Unfortunately that's pretty much where the fun stopped. We sat for almost 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged by the waitress in our area. After taking drink and dinner orders, we sat and watched everyone else have fun. Maybe the wait staff was short that night, I don't know. It's clear the wait staff is encouraged to engage customers in an outlandish, even offensive, manner. Our waitress gave a weak try, but she must have been overwhelmed and having a bad night. Our teenage son and I ordered seafood dishes, and my wife ordered fish tacos. The food was decent and priced in line with seafood at other restaurants. My 'big @ss beer' cost me $15.50, which allowed me to keep the glass. You won't find prices listed for the house specialty drink either, so choose wisely. This place has the potential to be a lot of fun, but the evening we attended it was just a downer. For a family of three to pay over a hundred for dinner (with tip), we expected more.

Dick's is a unique place but it's great for a party atmosphere and being on the Riverwalk is cool. Food is OK and the service is anti-service (part of their schtick is to insult the patrons - so bring thick skin), A fun time!

Great deals on HUGE glasses of beer and frozen margaritas. Delicious German cuisine and huge hot pretzels. Nice place to enjoy the beautiful waterfalls along the walkway while sipping on your favorite beverage. Prost!

I never went to Dick's before but knew what it was. My son really wanted to go, even after I explained it to him, or especially because I did. The nachos were good, they had a good selection of beer, my only complaint was the menu was extremely limited when I went because of kitchen issues and I would have liked to try something else. My son's only complaint was they were not mean enough. However, he didn't give them anything to work with and I am notoriously nice so I think the waiter followed suit.

As usual the food great atmosphere awesome watching people who have never been to a Dicks walk in and be greeted by the staff in Dicks style is just hilarious. Our waiter was great the food good I'd return here if I come back to San Antonio

If you are someone who likes to eat at a clean looking restaurant, this is not the place for you. Yes, it's supposed to be fun and the staff is supposed to be rude, but if you can't get past the napkins, straws, drink umbrellas and food on the floor, you will run out this place like you are on fire. That's what I did. I wouldn't eat here if it was the last place on earth.

We had a fantastic time. Servers were great(rude as heck just downright insane. We laughed are selves insane. If you don’t like sarcasm and downright fun cutting up don’t go there. The food is fair, the drinks are good and the staff lives up to the name. I’ve visited 3 restaurants in 3 cities. Looking forward to seeing them again.

Food is average, but lets face it you go there for the fun. Drinks are good and staff is funny. It is a place you go to have a good time and to interact with the staff that does a good job of being just the right amount of rude !

We had a very good experience here. The food is average, but the staff is great and you will laugh a lot here.

We were there the afternoon of April 30 just looking at the menu they had posted and the guy at the front asked if we wanted a table and when I said we were just looking and turned to leave he was insulting. I don’t think this would be a fun place to eat.

My dad came to visit me from Puerto Rico and wanted to take him somewhere we could have fun and enjoy good food. Couldn't think of a better place than this! He was laughing hysterically the entire time!! He was amazed by the idea of servers treating customers so badly and having so much fun with it. Definitely bringing him back next time he visits.

Fun, relaxed, and just enough space to raise a little Hell before they toss you out on the sidewalk, Dick's is a modern slice of old West saloon culture at its finest--- and most debauched. Come for the food, the beverages, the comradery, and the hilarious spectacle of tourists behaving like drunken idiots.

Okay people. Get with it that they are supposed to be rude and crude. I love reading some of the reviews from people upset. Get with it people, that is their show to be rude. If you can’t take it don’t go here. But now onto the real service and food. The food was ok and the service is spotty because of having to carry on the show. You may want to be careful with kids because the comments and hats can get a little over the top. Glad I went so I can mark this off my list.

I received a coupon from hotel for a buy an adult meal and get a kids meal free. I therefore assumed it was appropriate to take my daughter for lunch. I visited Sunday lunch time with my 11yo daughter. Waiter was rude, degrading re my weight, accent, what I ordered and my daughter hugging me. I am happy to have fun as he warned as he introduced the place but way over the line to rude. I left after ordering our meals. I said to the waiter if he continued to be rude I would leave. He made yet another disrespectful comment so I left.

I loved the concept but expected some better banter. One waiter made an awful joke about fish having gills because I was smoking - it was awful. The hats are a nice touch and the bar itself is in a great location, especially when outside. I felt the staff avoided customers that were going to respond to their snarky ways and instead focused on easy targets.

We were a party of 5 with an elderly, infirm family member and sat inside late hit afternoon to get some cool aircon. One ghastly waitress shouted for us to move outside... We explained that one of our party was as above and she said.. "I don't care... Move!" We moved, just ordered drinks and left. We didn't get the name of that waitress .but the management might know who she was.. Serving in the upper level, skinny with long straggly hair. Of course this themed restaurant is based on rudeness, but staff need to use their discretion and he told to have a little empathy and politeness in certain situations. We of course would have left immediately had not that member of our party needed the rest for a few minutes and a cold drink. The waitress that actually served us... Tattooed legs and long curly black hair..was empathetic to our situation.. and helped to turn the awkward situation around. We had intended to eat dinner and enjoy.... We didn't!!!!

We had SOOOO much fun being abused, spoken to sarcastically by our server, being given cone-shaped paper hats with hand-written raunchy sayings on them, having the perfect finger-foods meal & enjoying the show around us, inside & in front of us on the Riverwalk. We were told that staff has to practically audition for a job here with a well-planned, rude sounding and crowd pleasing skit or lines to dole out to unsuspecting customers, all in good fun and for good tips. Inside walls are filled with posters & statues, t-shirts for sale, breast cancer & crass Dick-joke bumper stickers (which are handed out to customers). music, bric-a-brac etc more tables, & a busy bar, while outside, meals are eaten at picnic tables covered with white paper for each new diner. We had the best time here, laughed, got abused and enjoyed our platter of mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, chicken tenders & the like. You gotta come here!

We had the opportunity to dine on a bright sunny day outside along the river! Beautiful view, right on the water. DEFINITELY NOT A PLACE FOR CHILDREN OR FAMILY DINING, UNLESS THE CHILD IS UNDER 2. The schtick is for the waiters to be a bit obnoxious and totally inappropriate. They are super friendly and we had excellent service. They make customers crazy paper hats with inappropriate sayings on them. (Which was hillarious!) If you're looking for relaxed, good food and drinks with a bit of off color humor, this is the place!

Never short on insults and entertainment the Dick's Last Resort on the River Walk proved to be one of the best staff I've experienced at one of these restaurants. Their greeter who harassed every innocent passerby kept us laughing. It's all in fun and for those who didn't appreciate the banter or engage in the parting shot as they walked by, their reactions were even better than the commentary. The food really is average, but I would recommend the alligator appetizer. This is one place that if you can't take a joke or if you're looking for fine dinning stay away.

I had the best time of my life in this restaurant 😌.. I had the worst waitress ever. (JK)..... YOU SHOULD TOTALLY VISIT LOL 😆

Was our first time at Dicks. It was enjoyable for the entire family. Enjoyed our meals and Fried pickles and Gator appetizers were all great. Definitely returning

If you want to have a fun naughty dinner this is the place. The wait staff is hilarious but be prepared as they go from naughty to nice. The food is very good and everyone there is very friendly. I have been to others around the country but this is one of my top favorites.

Took. Grandchildren that are 14. Funny as usual. Food good all around. I had salmon cesear which was great. Cheeseburger look good. Beer cold. Very unique.

Must visit with family, friends, first dates, Co-workers, study groups and clergymen. The entire staff is friendly, yet professional, respectable, and efficient. My husband and I loved driving down our visiting family and friends to Dick's beautiful restaurant on the Riverwalk in San Antonio from Killeen Texas. The food is great and the service is exactly as it should be. Great fun! Being Alaskan we found the portions on the moderate side...😄😁😉 Please do consider opening shop in my hometown of Wasilla, Alaska. We miss you guys and the whole state of Texas.... well not El Paso....or Killeen. Sincerely, Cassie Nix

Service was TERRIBLE!! They were so mean for no reason then they wanted me to wear some hat that said some mean thing about me. Why can’t they just be nice?? NEVER COMING BACK

Simply if is the signature of the restaurant ,,,firist time and last one,,,the reason is one of the servers w a room cowboy jersey say somethin about the man genitals in front of children in Spanish,,,will never come back.....worst experience ever....

We were visiting the beautiful city of San Antonio from Illinois. We saw the menu in a brochure and the seafood was what drew us to the place so we walked blocks in the pouring rain to dine there. As we walked in the door we stood literally in shock as the first table we saw was trashed, the floor was trashed, the entry to come completely into the restaurant was so trashed it was a slip hazard. I turned to my mom and husband and said “if the front of the house looks this bad-what’s the kitchen like?” Then we saw the 3 employees standing up the steps doing NOTHING and the guy must have seen our faces of disgust because he said “if you don’t like the way our place looks you can leave!” Then had the audacity to take a huge amount of napkins and chuck them down the steps at us! I couldn’t believe it! It was already a safety issue between the floor and the rain, then all the napkins and the food but for him to add more crap was ridiculous! Later we found out they are supposed to be rude as part of a “act” but we weren’t even seated yet and barely in the door. Safety of the guest is not funny or to be “DICKED” around with! The Pictures were BEFORE he launched the huge stack of additional ones at us, (my ELDERLY MOTHER and my husband and I are in our mid-forties) we are not kids by far. Keep in mind we are from out of state and didn't know the reputation of the restaurant and would not have been prudes about the "act" but we weren't even in the door yet and the place was a disaster on a night where it was NOT busy. They were just lazy and safety was clearly not a concern to them but it would have been to the owner if we had slipped or fallen.
If you can't take a joke don't go!
This place was awesome service was the way it should be with a title like "Dick's" Our waiter Kobe was a true ahole (in a fun way and he does warn you before it starts) the steak I ordered was fantastic; yes it was only a 6oz, but the way it was cooked was perfect, and my wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich as well. Yea we got roasted lol, and the hats will be a momento for the fun time we had. As my title states... if you can't take a joke... then don't go. If you're in the mood to let loose and have a great time, I suggest you check it out!
