My wife and I chanced across this small, family-owned gem while in town visiting family. We’d had amazing Chinese food in London the week before and were hungry for more. It’s a small, unassuming place tucked into a strip mall, with a locals-favorite vibe. The interior décor was understated, but the food was great. We were welcomed with hot tea, then ordered ‘small plates’ of curry pockets, pork buns, scallion pancakes, pork-and-shrimp shao mia, and (of course) dim sum. All were as good as anything we had in London’s Chinatown. The staff was super friendly, and service was attentive without hovering. We would definitely go back to sample all the other dishes on the menu.

Combination of Dim Sum and standard menus items. Order off the wall for dim sum, and the menu if you want a traditional Chinese meal. Food was tasty and one of the few places that an “extra spicy” request actually produced spicy food. Nice lazy Susan tables, that seat 6-8, allow you to share dishes with everyone. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Prices were good. Only issue is food prep is a little slow, this is understandable since they are cooking small quantities of custom ordered food. So relax and chill out and order as soon as you see something you like.

We were in the mood for dim sum and decided to try Dim Sum Heaven. We had dumplings which were excellent but no real dim sum. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. The place is fairly plain but as with many places the appearance has no effect on the food. What I can tell you is that the Mongolian Beef was one of the best I have every had. There were two types offered: saucy and dry. We got the saucy one and it was wonderful. Tasty, sweet and lots of onions and cabbage. We also got Beef Chow Fun which I liked alot but my wife and daughter thought was only okay. The portions were generous and all the food was excellent. I would highly recommend Dim Sum Heaven.

This restaurant is a dimsum place. They have a large selection to choose from in their menu. Price is overpriced, and food quality is not the best. Staffs are attentive. The place is not that busy. You might consider this place you you’re looking for Chinese food.

Hate that they don't have the carts, but love that you can order exactly what you want. Restaurant appeared to be very clean and the staff was extremely friendly.

This is an amazing find. Buford Hwy has a bunch of ethnic and Asian restaurants and we were running pretty late. Imagine my surprise that they were open here till midnight. We thought "wow get ready for bad food" So wrong! If you are going for atmosphere forget it. This is a peoples eatery. I noticed a lot of asian faces getting off of work from OTHER restaurants coming here to eat dinner late. Soup Dumplings - Yes they had soup dumplings at 11 at night. I wish they had been a little more "soupy" but what was there was good and nicely porky. The wrapper was a touch thick but hey we had soup dumplings in Atlanta at 11 at night. Stir fried glass noodles. In Korea this would be called Jap Chae - this was a Chinese version of it and it was really good. Had it with little clams in it. Such a nice treatment and was suggested by our waiter as the correct way to have them with noodles. Scallion pancake - very crispy outside but a little on the oily side. still a real nice find and very authentic. Crispy duck - Oh yes they had crispy roast Cantonese style duck. It was wonderful salty and fatty and just wonderful. There is a lot of depth to the menu here. Get off the beaten path and get some of the more exotic dishes. I am sure you won't be disappointed. The chef obviously wants to make authentic dishes and not just Americanized slop. Give them a chance!

This is a great and well run Dim sum restaurant on Buford Highway that has very family friendly service. Excellent food very authentic high-quality. The shu Mai and the pork dumplings are the bomb. Spicy garlic chicken = consistently excellent !! Ps - don’t tell too many people cuz I like to walk in get a table ;)

Loved everything we ordered except for the egg tart. We had the Pork Shumai, Shrimp Shumai, Shrimp Dumpling, Chinese Broccoli, Steamed Pork Bun and Young Chow fried rice. All were freshly made and tasted wonderful. The egg tart was a big disappointment. The crust was flaky but the custard was not soft; it was spongy. You could tell that this was reheated several times therefore overcooking the custard. The service was great and the waiter was very friendly.

We were a party of 5 for dinner. We ordered a mix of soup, dim sum, noddle dishes, rice dishes, chicken. The wonton soup was excellent and rich in dumplings. The Chicken Lo Meim was loved by our children and we all loved the dim sum very much. The staff was very nice and helpful. Hard working people.

Do not let the appearance of this restaurant fool you. I've eaten dim sum at many Chinese restaurants from California to Georgia, this restaurant has the best dim sum ever. Moreover, the customer service is great. The service is not like at other Chinese restaurants. While eating and observing around, I found that they care and listen to customers. They also offer a free dish of orange.

This place is just amazing. Open late, serves dim sum all day, and every dish tastes perfect. We ordered everything from sesame chicken to traditional dim sum plates and were blown away. They also provided excellent service. They were so attentive that we didn't have to say a word when we dropped our chopsticks - the staff was already on their way with replacements. Couldn't be happier!

There are not many dim sum restaurants around anymore. I wanted dim sum and got it here. I also wanted sesame balls and were thrilled that they came out too hot to handle, and were filled with delicious red bean paste. That might sound awful, but it's a not overly sweet confection. We ordered a pork ball that was huge. An interesting meal with lovely loose leaf tea included.

The soup dumplings were very good, and that is the main thing I am rating. The service was efficient, and all other foods were good. The soup dumplings had good flavor, were not too large, and the wrapper was not chewy. Not quite Din Tai Fung, but good for a craving fix.

I had long heard of this place and finally went by for take out. Unlike real dim sum places with carts to select from food is cooked to order. It took too long considering the other options nearby. It was OK (tasty but tiny shrimp) but nothing to write home about.

Wife and l were shopping at Pinetree Plaza Center. And came across this busy little restaurant. We walked in and seated were mostly Asians, so l knew we were correct. We had tangerine chicken and Kung Pao chicken. They were incredible. The egg drop soup, we poured over the rice. This was a great find. They had dishes from all over Soth East Asia.

Let’s start this off by saying this is a very homing restaurant. They invite you in with open arms. It was my very first time going, but the young lady I was with has been there a couple times. It seemed like they were family members with the opening arms welcoming. When it comes to food I got the fried sticky rice, spring rolls, soup dumplings and fried pork dumplings. My favorite item was the pork dumplings they were very flavorful. Salty pork with cloves and the drippings sauce gave it the much needed sweetness it needed. My least favorite item was the fried sticky rice. It was very oily and didn’t have much flavor. Could have been more better. Overall I would try it again with hoping it would be prepared better with much more taste. The soup dumplings were pretty good with taste but didn’t have a lot of soup in them and they were very small. If you plan on going here I will say depending on how many people you go with be prepared to order a good amount of food if you want to try different items because the sharing portions are very small. This is a good restaurant. I do recommend you to try it if you have never had dim sum before because they restaurant is a great steppingstone

My wife and I, mistakenly, chose Dim Sum Heaven, for dimmer. We were, exteremely, disappointed. First, they had no liquor license; so, a cocktail, or glass, of wine, was unavailable. Second, the dim sum we ordered was soggy, and nearly, inedible. The entree (egg foo yung) was OK.

Unless one is quite familiar with a great deal of Chinese cooking, the many photos on their wall offer the best guide for your selections. They make dim sum (as well as other items) to order here, which means items are freshly prepared, rather than pulled from a passing cart. That also means food takes longer to arrive. None of our choices proved memorably good or bad, so we'll have to try other items next time we stop in.

The food at this family operated Chinese restaurant is very very good, including the dim sum. The dim sum is ordered off the menu and not carts, but there is a fairly good choice and it is all quality. The main dishes are very well done, and many options you will not see in your neighborhood place. It is very basic looking, but the food and fine service more than make up for it.

My wife and I visited Dim Sum Heaven for Sunday brunch recently, making a 30-min trek to satisfy a hankering for soup dumplings and pork buns. We were greeted by a sweet hostess who promptly seated us and served us hot tea. On the wall next to us were four about dozen numbered photos of various dishes with Chinese and English titles. That might be a tip off to some adventurous diners seeking "real Chinese," but we prefer this to the more typical Buford Hwy approach: a menu in Chinese with weak English translations ("Pork with rice"). We ordered soup dumplings, steamed yu choy with garlic, shrimp and pork shumai, and a bean curd dish in ginger with black mushrooms. Ironically, we liked the non-Dim-Sum dishes best: the yu choy was steaming fresh with bold chunks of garlic; the tofu sauce rich, sweet and tangy. I learned during this visit that Dim Sum refers to the small, bite-sized dishes in steam baskets or small plates, and *not* the carts that roll those dishes around, but we enjoyed Dim Sum Heaven anyway...and ordered pork buns, hot and sour soup, and whole shrimp in onions and garlic to go. Totally worth the trip.

We read the reviews and everyone seemed to think that this was the best dim sum in Atlanta. Between my wife and I we tried 9 different menu items. Three were awful, five were so-so, and one was actually good. We would not recommend this to anyone.

I vowed (bucket list) to try every chinese restaurant in the metro Atlanta orbit. Especially Dim Sum. For a long time the earlier reviews kept us away. I am VERY glad we tried DSH tonite. I thoroughly enjoyed it for freshness, flavor and authenticity. We tried the Dim Sum first, Shu Mai, flavorful, lightly spiced, savory. A 10. Har gow nicely done, not gooey. I really liked the Stuffed pork Wrapped Tofu and the Guy Lon in Garlic sauce was so fresh, my spouse said if it were any fresher, she would have had to pick it herself just now! We added a nicely made Roast Pork Fried rice, and a House Special Pan Fried Noodle. To sum it up, we'll be back and soon! (no carts so there are a LOT of menus to go through and it may confuse the orderer. The service was good, prompt and available. Meal was moderate in cost. A very delicious and good value.

Came here today with the family. Ordered off the wall, see photo. The food was very good and my kids asked for seconds. I loved the pit stickers and shoronpo. Staff were friendly and service was great. I'd recommend this place to friends and family. Been to places like this in Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore and the food they have here is pretty authentic. Will come again. Order off the wall.

We love coming to this restaurant! They have great food and wonderful customer service! We have been here a few times and always enjoy it every time. A couple of times we didn't see our favorite egg plant with fish paste and they willingly made it for us. Their lunch menu is reasonably priced. The restaurant is pretty big but can be very crowded during the weekend.

We've only eaten here once. There is a large menu, though much of it is on the wall. We tried a pretty large selection of dishes (mostly small plates), and found that most were good, but none were excellent. Here are my notes: A - Beef lo mein C- - Beef steak w/ Peking sauce C+ - Pork w/ garlic sauce D - Kung Pao Shrimp B - Shu Mai B- - Pan fried pork dumplings C - Pan fried pork buns B - Fried shrimp & chive dumplings

We love Dim Sum Heaven! You won’t find many of their dishes in any Chinese chain restaurants, which makes it exciting for us. Try the steamed buns, the siu mai, the roasted duck, and the spicy squid! Complimentary tea is served.

Hubbie and friends have been here a zillion times and we all LOVE IT!!! There is absolutely no ambiance and we don’t care. The soup dumplings are to die for and we also love the scallion pancakes, hot and sour soup, and the chicken/lotus root/pepper dish. We get the same dishes every time and roll out stuffed with deliciousness. And it’s CHEAP! And we love the staff.

The Dim Sum here was pretty good, but not what the other reviews would suggest. Their menu was not very clear. Neither I nor my Chinese roommate could figure out what most items were from the written menu. Our food was just alright. Next time I'm at Buford Farmers Market, I'll try something else.

Made our 1st trip as a lunch outing. In a strip mall, so slightly hard to find. Excellent soups... tried hot & sour and wonton. Nice variety of dim sum... what you'd expect and several exotic. Tried several of the dumplings... nothing special and a little bland, but good with the sauces. Excellent large, succulent clams in black bean sauce easily feeds 2 or maybe 3. Decent egg rolls. I enjoyed the included tea. Excellent service. A little pricey... almost $50 with tax and tip for two. We liked the wall menu with pictures- very helpful.
First Time Here
First time here and glad I went. The menu is large plus a zillion pictures of food on the wall. I ordered the pork with garlic sauce. It came with just the right amount of sliced green pepper, cabbage and onion. It also came with a nice amount of rice. As soon as we sat down we were greeted with a pot of hot tea. Everything was good. The price was also good as was the service.
