I love this place. The brick fire baked bread is the best. Love the hummus and roasted eggplant are AMAZING.

It was okay

By VJBarre |

I'd heard about this place from a friend who knows we like to try Persian/Mediterranean food. There is an abundance of food but all wasn't as it should be. The cauliflower was way over cooked as was the okra but the gyro meat and the curry chicken were very good. The lamb, while very tender, didn't have much flavor. The rice was so so too. They did have a large amount of hummus that was very good. The pita bread was bland as it was just flat bread (I guess I've gotten spoiled eating garlic naan). However today may have been an off day?? The place was very crowded even at 2pm so I know they have to be turning over the dishes fairly fast. However what made me give it a rating of 3 is they ran out of gyro meat (really??) and it wasn't replaced while we were there (I checked often).

Very enjoyable lunch!

I was visiting some friends in Austin, they had never tried Middle Eastern food, so I thought that Dimassi's would give them a wide variety of choices. I've been to the Dimassi's in The Woodlands (pretty good) and in San Antonio (so-so) but his one topped them both. Now, I realize that buffets can vary day to day (some, hour to hour) so your experience depends on the luck of the draw. But I've heard that this restaurant remains pretty consistent. When it comes to Middle Eastern food, I'm a grazer--a little bit of this, a little bit of that on the first plate. Then eat, find the favorites, then head back for more of those. I tried literally every dish but some stood out. Hummus and Baba Ghanouge are among my favorites and these didn't disappoint. Many times, when made in the quantity that's available, the flavors are dull and the consistency either slimy or pasty. I'm happy to say, this was not the case. And what goes better with that than pita? It's fresh, baked in a proper brick deck oven; not wood-burning as in the East, but it does a great job nonetheless. The dolmas are very good, the rice was properly seasoned and not tough or slimy, as I've had it in some restaurants. Falafels--Lord, I love those little devils!!! These were great; as I was at the buffet, they came out, hot and fresh. I made a beeline for them and was rewarded with proper spicing and texture. As for the vegetables, the eggplant cooked with pomegranate molasses was excellent. As simple as it sounds, it's a difficult dish to pull off correctly but Dimassi's did an excellent job. Warning: it's somewhat of an acquired taste but be daring and at least try one piece. The grilled veggies were also above average; just tender enough without falling apart and for a buffet, that's quite a feat. And try the fried cauliflower, even if, like me, you don't care for it--this will change your mind. Among the meats, the shredded beef stood out--sort of like an old fashioned pot roast, juicy and succulent but with Middle Eastern spices. There was mustard chicken; a surprise, as the mustard flavor is very mild yet totally makes the dish. The kafta kabobs were spot on flavor-wise; however, they were a little dry but not so much as to affect the overall restaurant rating. But for me, the star of the show was the gyros. They were fresh from the kitchen; had they been sitting awhile they would have perhaps dried a bit. The amount I ate should make me hang my head in shame. But I ate 'em, I'm glad it did and I'd do it again--so there! Desserts and drinks range from the familiar to the somewhat exotic. And everything, including the drinks, is self-service. Busing the tables takes place at regular intervals, so your empty plates won't take of valuable eating room. I'll definitely come back and if my impression changes, I'll update my review. But for now, I'm stuffed and I'm happy--for this ol' boy, it doesn't get much better than that.

Good variety and flavor

By mel19802016 |

This is a nice buffet option no frills but a good variety. The bread is fresh baked in an oven right by the buffet. You serve your own drinks as well as your food but the price is reasonable and the food tasty. I will be back.

No picture ate it to fast

We are a big Arabic /American family. The best part of this restaurant was we sat across from American and Chinese families and all our children played as we ate. The food was delicious and we ‘were hurtin’ as we left. The chicken, gyro meat and salads spilled over on our plates, fresh pita !!! I am not a buffet person but I’d eat here daily. Even when we cook the same foods.

Just so good!

By L J |

My husband and I have eaten at four locations of Dimassi's now, and this one is right up there with our high expectations for this chain. With tons of veggies, meats, hot pita bread, and delicious baklava & coffee for dessert, there are almost too many choices. My husband commented that you rarely find a restaurant where you can actually get too full eating just veggies! This location had a few extras, like gyro meat, lamb, and specialty drinks including rosewater & tamarind water, which were both very good, even though rosewater is not my thing. Overall, delicious!

Great Mediterranean Food

By RobertWorldWanderer |

This place is a bit deceptive in that it has a very informal environment. but the food is amazing. Unlike many buffet style restaurants, where the food has clearly been sitting out, the staff here at DiMassi's is very diligent with keeping everything extremely fresh. The food is very varied, from salads, tabouleh, dolmas, fresh baked pita, kebabs, roasted vegetables, nicely seasoned and flavorful with mediterranean spices. There is an array of beverages, There isn't really a wait staff, but any employee will help you as needed. Everyone is extremely friendly.

Mediterranean done right!

By Anne V |

This is an informal, family-friendly, casual buffet-style restaurant. There are choices of hot dishes, and cold dishes, all with a Mediterranean/Indian/Arab style. Savory dishes included roasted vegetables...the zucchini, tomato and jalapeño combination was excellent, as was the roasted cauliflower. A selection of meat dishes were fresh, and flavorful. Cold dishes included salads, hummus and baba Ganoush, both were well prepared with the right acidity in the hummus, and the perfect combination of eggplant in the baba. The desserts were disappointing! Baklavah was dry, as was the honey cake, and the rice pudding lacked creaminess. Cold, and hot beverages, and breads are all included in the price.

Worth the drive and price

By JaviDastager |

Very good buffet of Mediterranean food and desserts. Very friendly place for families or groups. Its my second time on my second trip to Austin and it's worth the drive from downtown. Yes is not cheap but its worth it

Amazing

By Mandy R |

Seriously this place is really good, healthy compared to most buffets, and decent price. The food is amazing hands down. Everything I tried I loved and my husband feels the same. Between the grape leaves, the okra, and the gyro meat I could have died happy but that was just the top few favorites. Sit where you want, eat as much as you want, and go home happy!

very bad service , rude stuff

By max |

the female was cleaning the table was very rude and disrespectful , she was staring at me and I feel I've been discriminated . casher was rude and did not offer any receipt ..

Great food

By John P |

We knew this would be a good place to get mediterranean food by the number of middle eastern folks eating there. The food is fresh and very good. It is served buffet style. While the food is delicious, the rate at which the buffet is replenished could use some work. Lamb shanks were on the special for the day but there were none by the time we got there and none were placed on the buffet until we got ready to leave an hour later. That being said, we sill visit again very soon.

I think I died and went to Greek heaven!

By jeffysmom |

OMG! This place is amazing! From the freshly baked brick oven pita bread to the wonderful hummus and tabooli, I was very impressed. In the evening you can also ask for a lamb shank, which was good - add tzatziki sauce though and it's amazing! Desserts are eh, so don't worry about saving room!

Decent Selection

By TravelinMan94 |

Ate here with my daughter for dinner. Good selection of food, nicely presented. Loved the pita bread! The gyro meat was very good. Enjoyed the hummus as well, very creamy and smooth. The spinach was delicious, too. The service is non-existent, though. It's completely self-serve, including the drinks. If you're in the area and you like Mediterranean food, it's a decent value.

Very impressed

By JoshAlmighty |

I've been here several times and I live the fact that the buffet line is always steaming and inviting. They're pretty clean overall. Especially for a buffet. The food is always fresh. The pita bread, baked in a wood burning oven, was life changing! I have never had pita bread so fresh, soft, and delicious. I'm a sucker for their curry. I LOVE the pulled lamb! Yes, pulled pork style lamb. It was amazing. Just gamey enough to tell you it's lamb, just perfect to tuck into that piping hot pita bread and enjoy. Also, if you like tapioca pudding at all, they have a homemade rice pudding that has to be from the future. I've never been to another Dimassis. But if they're half as good as the 183 location I say go for it.

Good place to eat ,but

By nazirites |

I really like eating here when I'm in Austin. All the food is great to eat,but sometimes the beef and chicken can be pretty dry at times. The pita bread that is open oven bake next to the buffet table is great and now they also have a pizza pita bread that is the best pizza I ever tasted, that is worth the trip. They do have the soft drinks and 4 different types of tea.It is a very nice restaurant and very clean with tasteful decor. One thing to remember is if your not use to mediterranean food you might want to eat it slow because if you eat some of it to fast you might have a upset stomach.

Love this place!!!!

By RkblyJamesM |

Great food and great value!! I will be returning every time I go to Austin.....I went to the one near The Woodlands when I went there. This is the same food at a great price.

Great lunch at dimassis

By Roseann A |

Food was very good, fresh, great selection. Surprised to see stuffed grape leaves, hummus, chopped salad, fish, lamb shanks many healthy options. This was a great find for us. Happy to find it and will be returning. I almost forgot to mention the semolina cake! So good!

Wonderful!

By Stan A |

Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet was excellent - even better than years ago. They've now added delicious gyro meat and kept all the items they previously had. The buffet included the drinks.

So many Delicious options! Veggie friendly.

By Felora S |

This place was excellent. The cauliflower was so delicious as was the eggplant. There were plenty of options for vegetarians.

Vegan Options

By Royrisen |

Lots of good Mediterranean food. The hummus was excellent as well as the sautéed eggplant. Plenty plenty plenty of food wow. This is place makes it easy to eat healthy, or not, but the vegan options are delicious. Casual atmosphere and friendly hostess.

GREAT!

By pnkgirl27 |

I enjoyed dining here while in Austin that I ate there two nights in a row! I am vegetarian so it is hard to dine at places so I opted for this place due to it being a buffet. The items are all marked with what they are and what it is exactly made with. That took away a lot of questioning things when eating a cuisine I am not very familiar with. The buffet was extremely well kept and constantly attended to. When items were out, it took a bit for new to be replaced which proved that they don't pre-cook stuff and store it in the back. The brick oven was used to cook pitas and they were being made constantly for freshness. The menu online looked small at first but there are two long buffets fully stocked. The price was only $12.99 which included drinks! The overall feel was respect. The people that worked there and the customers respected the food by eating what they took and not wasting. It isn't the stereotypical American buffet with disgusting people over indulging and behaving loudmy with unattended children. Some of the customers at this restaurant were even reading books. It is a very low key nice place to dine from what I experienced. Unlimited bakalava and hummus made me a happy person! The only downside was the music volume. Wow, it was a bit too overbearing for my liking on both nights. Overall, I really did enjoy this restaurant and suggest it if you are in the mood for Mediterranean food.

Good Buffet

By rboykins71 |

I enjoyed my time being here at the buffet. This was good food. I was able to get full of food. I am a picky eater so this was a change for me.

Average food, pricey, not crowded

By M J |

I had Friday lunch at Dimassi's with several of my co-workers. The food was average and a little pricey for lunch ($10.99). Dimassi's was not crowded so we did not have any problems getting a large table at 12:00. The variety was food was good. We did not get any wait service at our table but I still left a tip for the bus boy. I will not be going back anytime soon.

Lots of both meat and vegetable based dishes

By kathlyn k |

If you enjoy middle eastern food in a casual and family friendly atmosphere this restaurant has a tastey buffet of both meat and vegetable based dishes. People come here from all over to eat here on a regular basis.

NIce Dinner Buffet, Great Fresh Choices

By la_vida_es_bela |

Every once in a while, our family of four (2 adults, 2 older children) like to go here for some Mediterranean style food. Great yogurt/mustard chicken, tasty rice and many other choices on their buffet line. I personally like to eat the roasted cauliflower, baked eggplant, salad and hummus with some pita bread. Consistent food prep, clean restaurant, friendly cashier.

good mix of different Med food

Wanted to try something fast and different. The food was a mix of all types of Lebanese types of food. The meat dishes were all good and the fresh warm bread was delicious

Wide Choice of Entrees that are Very Good!!

By kzsull01 |

We have eaten lunch at DiMassi’s Mediterranean Buffet multiple times. It is a very good buffet with a wide selection of items of all varieties. There is something for everyone, even multiple types of desserts. We love the salad bar, including the cauliflower, and eggplant. The entrees in the buffet include information on their ingredients, which is helpful in identifying whether they are gluten free. DiMassi’s is a great place to dine with a wide choice of items. You will definitely have enough to eat at this buffet.

Restart was a good thing

By miketash_aus |

Dimassi has reopened under different management and it shows. We really like Middle Eastern food and were excited by Dimassi when we first discovered it years ago. Then it slowly slid into mediocrity, then closed. It's open again and a new manager was running the show and he obviously cleaned things up a bit. The food was fresh, the decor improved, and they got the baklava back up to snuff. This place is back on our favorites list because of it.

good variety for vegitarians

By amy p |

Great food for both veg and non vet eaters. Buffet priced well. Love the stuffed grape leaves and soup. When you walk in, it may look questionable but I think they re just putting more attention into the food. Tv's to watch sports. World cup was going on when we went and everyone cheered and booed together.

My family and I love eating at Dimassi's on the weekends because we have to drive 70 miles to get to it. It is the restaurant that we take all our guests to. The variety of great food they offer is a great bargain for us. The lamb dishes they serve on the weekends are the best. The salad bar is excellent. Their tabuli is great and so is their hommos and baba ghanouj. You get great food with drinks and desert for a great price.

Delightful Surprise!

By Mdgaustin |

Lunch buffet was really good! Lots of things to choose from. The smells of the fresh bread baking was a wonderful appetizer and the varieties were delish. Veggies, salad, fruit were all fresh and well-prepared. A couple of the meat dishes were a little dry but made for great dipping bases. Tried several entree dishes and all were great. The Rose Water and the Tamarind Water were nice additions. Don't miss the Baklava!

Mostly Good Food; Lots of Choices; Service Non-existent

By CharlieinTexas |

Ate here, in part, based on the tripadvisor reviews. I would say that the food was good. Some things, such as the lamb shank, were excellent, well-prepared. Some things, pita, lentil soup, basmati rice, and eggplant were certainly edible, but just that, edible -- either bland, over-cooked, or just meh. Chicken dry. Tilapia had nice flavor but was overcooked. Gyro meat appeared to have sat out too long, dry, very disappointing. Kafta kabobs were good. Spinach delicious. Rice pudding a bit too firm, but tasty. All of the salads I tried, and I believe I had 3 of the 4, had fresh tasting ingredients and were good. In regard to the service ... what service? I get that this is a buffet. I've been to many buffets. From a distance of about 50 feet, the nearest employee on my arrival pointed toward the mostly open tables. I took my seat. I've not been here before, didn't realize I was to get my own silverware and beverage -- which was fine, I just didn't know. Walked halfway to the employee that greated me and mouthed and used a hand gesture for silverware - he pointed to the area that the silverware is set out. No one came by during my 45 minutes or so at the restaurant to inquire if the food was good, if I found everything/needed anything, etc. I sat facing the buffet. No one looked over the food/passed by the food and stirred it, turned it, fluffed it up, etc the entire time I was at the restaurant (although additional food was added to some of the recepticals). By the time I finished, I had accumulated a soup bowl and four empty plates which were eventually cleared (along with clearing of three other tables nearby that had been vacated for 15-25 minutes without being cleared of dishes, cups, etc). I'd have to say I won't be back. Too many good Meditteranean options in town that have better food and an overall better eating/dining experience. I gave this place a "poor" rating based on average food and terrible/no service.

Nice selection and tasty food.

By Stephen W |

had never been to this place and wanted something different.I was not disappointed. Overall great selection and the food was delicious. I will try this place again the next time I am in Austin.

Fantastic Lunch!

By CharlieinTexas |

I dropped in for lunch, having eaten here once a good while ago, and being disappointed with both the service and food. Not today. Absolutely fantastic lunch. All the food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The falafel was among the best I have had outside of the Middle East. The meat dishes appeared to me to have good quality meat, and were flavorful and tender. The lentil soup was very tasty. I was extremely pleased with my lunch, and will look forward to my next visit.

Rice "B"udding

By B P |

My Iranian friend took me to this place for some Mediterranean food one afternoon. I didn't know what to expect. It's a buffet restaurant located in a strip mall in the northern part of Austin, actually closer to Round Rock. The decor is ultra-casual, sparse, and no-frills, basically two large spaces with tables flanking the buffet. The food was acceptable, but nothing to write home about. You have all the usual Mediterranean items: Tabouli, falafel, Greek salad, hommus, baba ghanouge, pita bread, goat meat, eggplant, rice, baklava, and last but not least "Rice Budding". I asked my Iranian friend about the spelling of rice "budding". He explained that the "B" sound is often substituted for the "P" sound in Arabic, hence the phonic spelling. This lead to his telling of a joke about an Arabic guy(A) talking to an American policeman (P): Arab driving in car, pulling up to police officer. A: Excuse me, officer. P: Yeah? A: Is it OK to bark here? P: As long as your neighbors don't complain. Haha. His joke, not mine. Bottom line: OK food, good variety of items.

Not the freshest buffet

By bjcTx |

I think this buffet might have been really good if I had eaten there when they first brought it out at lunch. However I ate after 6:00 in the evening and it really looked and tasted like it had been there a while. There was a lot of variety but several of the offerings were empty. Doubt I would go back.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!

By newmexico001 |

We were looking for a restaurant for a to-go dinner and almost passed this place up because it has BUFFET in their name. Thank god we were too pressed for time to keep looking! The food is simply incredible. We are vegetarian, and they had a large selection of veg friendly dishes. They make all their food with olive oil so some thing are also vegan friendly. We had the stuffed grape leaves, 2 kinds of rice, char grilled zucchini, creamy mushrooms, spinach with home made cheese crumbles, okra and tomato sauce, slow roasted eggplant, crispy falafel, tabouli salad, another kind of yummy salad, baba ganush, fresh hummus, and the best and fresher pita we've ever had. All of the foo was piping hot, and they refreshed several of the dishes while we were filling our to go plates. The host was so friendly and was enthusiastic to talk about the Greek food. We went at about 6:30pm and there were only about 4 tables. Not sure if no one knows about this place, but everyone should know about it. It is incredible: flavorful, fresh, spot on Greek flavors in everything. Please go try them, we need this place to stick around Austin!!!!!!!

Good food. Service can be better.

By Om Maniyar |

Good selection of salads and meats. Good is fresh and warm. The chicken was a bit hard though. Also they ran out of falafel and it took more than 15 minutes to refill. But the waiting was worth it as the falafels are really tender. The place was very crowded. They do have the sanitizers and gloves etc. But hard to maintain any social distancing with so many people.

All right with quite a bit of variety

By Rover82 |

You had a lot of variety in the buffet; baked Tilapia, fried chicken, lamb shanks and quite a few Mezze. I liked the Fried chicken, not an item at the top of your head when you think of a "mediterranean" buffet. The hot bread was a welcome item and went well with the Humous. The Baklava was a disappointment though. The place is completely self service, which is something I prefer at buffets.

Variety & tasty food

Had a family dinner one evening. Buffet had a nice choice of food (meat, vegetables, pasta, salad + more). Deserts was good too!

Dimassi's Rocks

By Rebecca Y |

Dimassi's totally blew my socks off. Even though it's in my neighborhood, I had always avoided Dimassi's because a friend gave it a poor recommendation. It seems like it's had a checkered past. Well, that's old advice because now, Dimassi's rocks! The place was PACKED when we stepped into Dimassi's on Saturday night at 6pm for the first time. What we saw and tasted was heaven. The restaurant features two long buffet tables, one for cold dishes and one for warm dishes. From the cold dishes, I enjoyed the cabbage salad, greens salad, baba ganoush, myriad sauces like hummus, garlic sauce, yogurt sauce, tzatziki sauce, chickpea salad, and the dolmades were delicious, too. I don't even like baba ganoush but I loved Dimassi's. From the warm dishes, the roasted eggplant, okra in tomato sauce, and green beans in tomato sauce stood out. A couple of yummy lentil soups can be found, and don't miss the rose-rice pudding. Fresh pitas populate the corner of the buffet, toasted in the wood burning stove a step away. Soft drinks, rose water, coffee, tea, excellent baklava and cookies are all included. Did I mention that the price is reasonable too? The interior is a bit eccentric but comfortable. Dimassi's owner usually welcomes us to the restaurant, and later escorts us out to make a comfortable end to an evening well spent.

great buffet

By TheTexasFoodie |

This was our first visit to Dimassi's in Cedar Park/north Austin, we've been to a few in the Houston area a multitude of times. Some of our favorite dishes like the fried cauliflower, falafels, and lentil soup were not quite as good as we remembered them being. Fried cauliflower is usually sweet, not today. Okay, that's all of the negatives, now for the good stuff. Three different kinds of unsweetened tea to choose from, freshly baked Pita and other med breads, the lamb gyro meat was tender and delectable, the baba ganoush and hummus was spot on too, lots of goodies to choose from and as usual i chose too many, i ate most of it and struggled to keep from waddling and sighing with happiness as i...not Elvis.....left the building. They give you a card and after you get 10 punches you get a free buffet....

Good variety buffet!

By arazzmatazz |

Really enjoyed the fresh pita bread straight from a wood fired oven. Great food, we liked everything we tried. The lamb was tender. The buffett was kept well stocked and clean.

The Best EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

By TigerblueT |

I am reviewing DImassis at 183 NORTH Exit Mc Neal and then turn under the bridge, and they're in the access road. I love thier food, I took my family and friends to this place, and we are from San Antonio. We drive to Austin just to eat there. We used to live in Richardson Dallas and they have one in Campbell Road. The food is always fresh, anytime of the day. The salads, the meat, the sides the desserts are all fresh. Plus you can have the non alcoholic drinks that comes with the buffet. Always have fresh coffee to go with your baklava and other desserts. I wished they would open in San Antonio. Yesterday 3/ 1 2014 I went to Dimassis in Austin...with my family they loved it. I told the manager that there was a good location that they can open in San Antonio it's between Callaghan Road & Babcock Road just right 410 West about 5 minutes from medical center, 10 minutes from Alibaba, 15 minutes from Pasha. This location used to be the old Red. Lobster, and become Porkys Hamburger place. Now they are closed. The place is next to Ding How Chinese Restaurant. I hoped that they will opened there. Or this one at 410 that used to be a seafood place next to RED ROOF INN, with the bases we have in San Antonio I know if they open Dimassis here it will never go wrong. Dimassis the best.!!!!!! Highly recommend the food, if you are craving for something delicious and fresh!!!!!!!!

Middle Eastern must-haves

By E R L |

...and they have just about all of 'em. Rice, roasted veggies, stuffed grape leaves, kofta, several chicken dishes, gyros, tzatziki, garlic yogurt and other sauces, salads & fruits, and of course baklava and apricot jam cookies. Get your Mediterranean fix here. A bit pricey at 12 bucks, but well worth it.

This is my favorite restaurant in the world! I jump at the chance to eat here when in Austin. My latest visit yesterday was just as good as the first time I visited awhile back. The buffet items stay the same and all dishes are marked with the ingredients. The fire oven pita bread is simply the best!

Delightful spread of delicious ethnic food

By Gregory M |

Having tried Dimassi's in Houston and being disappointed, I was delighted with the meal in this location. It had a genuinely large assortment of meats and vegetables traditionally associated with Mediterranean diet. Specific choices I found to be satisfying: Gyro Chicken Baba ganoush Cauliflower Green beans Saffron rice The only disappointment was the crisp pita being a bit stale. Highly recommended!!

Good Med buffet for Austin

By crazyAustin |

There aren't a lot of Mediterranean/Greek places in Austin and the ones that were decent seem to close and the ones left aren't that good. It took me years to finally go here, but it was worth the trip. Pita is freshly cooked from a stone oven, pita chips are also available. Basmati rice is delicious and there are the typical lamb and fish dishes. Falafels are tasty. Sauces are wonderful, there are several yogurt based sauces, plenty of hummus and baba ganoush. The salads like tabouli are well presented and tasty. Baklava is tasty. A very good value at $15.99 as well. Solid but not exceptional.

One of the Best Restaurants in Austin or San Antonio

By OETEX |

We stopped at Dimassi's Mediterranean Buffet while shopping in Austin. The food is more eastern Mediterranean (Greek - Turkey) than Western Mediterranean (Italy - Spain). Great salad bar with some types of salads you don't see in restaurants. The hot line had a great lentil soup, two types of rice, eggplant, grilled veggies (my favorite), chicken, gyro meat and some stuffed grape leaves. There was pita bread, two types of flat bread and some great desserts (baklava and some other cakes). Usual drinks (cokes - ice tea - coffee etc). Definitely will come here again when we come to Austin.

Taste of the Middle East

By 1st_WorldCitizen |

Dimassi's is the most authentic Mediterranean cuisine that I have tasted in Austin so far. I started off healthy with Lebanese salad, Tabouli salad, Greek salad, falafel, hummus, grape leaves with beef and rice and fresh hot pita bread. After consuming the healthy plate, I started in on the good stuff. Baked fish (baked in lemon and spices), lamb shank, kafta kabob (ground beef with parsley, onion and garlic), chicken kabob (marinated with oregano, green pepper and onion) fried cauliflower, seasoned potatoes with herbs and cilantro. The second plate was packed. I normally pass on the desserts but they had some baklava that I could not resist. What was also nice was that the price of the buffet included the soft drink, coffee, ice tea (sweetened and unsweetened) and also a very nice mango-peach tea. I will definitely be back.

So so

By Catundra |

This is a buffet. If you like Mediterranean buffet type food it may be the place for you. We just were not impressed with the selections nor with the flavors. It seemed to be totally self serve when we visited. We had to get our own flatware and drinks and told to just sit anywhere. There did not seem to be anyone clearing the tables or attending the guests. The food was not to our liking.

Very good food, excellent variety.

By SEMPER F |

Worth the drive to North Austin to eat here. Saturday evening, they have a weekend special of endless lamb shanks on the buffet. All the mid-eastern standards, Tabouli, three types of hummus, fruits, vegetable dishes, hot fresh Pita bread, chicken, beef, lentils..... and Baklava! Great variety, very clean, reasonably priced. We will be back! Houpa!

Very good variety of food

By Elyas87 |

I had a lunch once. It was big diverse buffet. On top of that, it was very very good. I tried almost 80% of the food. All of it look fresh and tasty. Friendly staff and quite restaurant. You will eat more than what you will pay.

For Quality and Healthy Food, Go to Dimassi’s

By Ishtiaq Sagri |

For a real taste of Mediterranean food visit Dimassi’s and enjoy a variety of oriental dishes such as baklava, tabbouleh, falafel, lamb shanks, eggplant spinach, chicken kebab, hummus at a competitive price. The buffet even includes coffee, tea, and desserts. This place is renowned for quality food where you do not indulge with needless add-ons. The staff is attentive and cooperative taking good care of customers serving the very fresh items. It is noteworthy and praiseworthy too that they welcome all: an individual, a family, a group of friends or a large gathering since they can accommodate each size. Beside quality and variety of food, about 50 dishes to choose from, the restaurant has facilities such as parking, wheelchair accessibility, TV, clean atmosphere, take-out, credit card payment, kids-friendly and Wi-Fi which make it a preferred place to go. In conclusion I must say that it’s a place for healthy food that can be eaten by all.

First time eating here. My husband and I really enjoyed sampling items off the buffet. Loved the tabuli and Greek salad. The pita was excellent. So many items to try. Will eat here again the next time we are in Austin.

Delicious Mediterranean Cuisine!

By Gloria L |

I had heard of Dimassi's for a long time from an incredible cook-friend. The hummus, dolmas, babaganuche, hot pits bread were terrific. They had various entrées and lots of vegetables and fresh salads plus delicious soups. I had the lentil soup. The lamb seemed too salty for me. My husband and I loved trying a bite of many of their selections. They also have a yummy variety of desserts like baklava, apricot jam bread, and rice pudding with pistachio nuts on top. The rice in the pudding seemed a bit undercooked.

Worth its money

Its very good food. Tasty and clean and reasonably priced. The lamb shanks are just very delicious and the drink is included in the price as well.

Mediterranean buffet

Family style, good for large parties. Many different middle eastern items on the buffet. Drinks included. Food is average but the price makes it a good deal.

Carry out dream

The abundantly stocked and varied buffet allowed me to quickly gather plenty of delicious food for our family's lunch. Hot, fresh, and delicious.

Good Food but Cafeteria Atmosphere

By Karyl-Lynn D |

I really enjoyed trying all the new foods. Some of them were very good but I can't recall the names. The only draw back was that I felt I was in my high school cafeteria. No ambiance.

No food!?!?!

This was the most bizarre experience... The parking lot was pretty packed. It was a Saturday night, so I sort of expected that. We walked inside and there was one "hostess" just kind of ambling about, not sure of what was happening. The place was packed! People were walking everywhere, and it was only possible to pinpoint her because she was the only one not carrying food scurrying around. We asked to be seated (two of us). She didn't know what to do so she walked around the restaurant looking for seating. She finally found two seats — at someone else's table. Ummmm... not ideal but it's way crowded and I'm hungry. Whatever. Since it's a buffet, we go to get our food. They are out of sooooo many dishes, it's not even funny. Gyro meat? Gone. Lamb shanks? Nope. I see lots of spreads (hummus), some breads, and tons of sauces (tzaziki)... but outside of some friend fish and some sort of stew, there's no meat! There are SIGNS for it, but no real meat. We sort of walk around in a mindless fashion and look for something to eat that is substantive. We fail. We are deciding what to do when we look at our table, and our seats have been given away to someone else! So now, we are without food, and without seats. We left and went elsewhere. #VVVDisappointed.

There is abundance of food!!!

We came here for lunch with my husband's group. It's a buffet style. We seated or picked our own long table ourselves. There were three sections of buffet with different kinds of Mediterranean delicacies, from vegetables/salad, meat, flat breads, to desserts. There were soda fountain and coffee makers for drinks. There was a place/oven in a little corner where they make their own pita bread. They serve it fresh from the oven! I tried a little bit of everything, and I cannot name or tell which one was my favorite. The place is spacious and clean. The ambiance was calm and quiet because we were able to converse without screaming. I was not the one who pay, so I don't know if it's expensive or reasonable. But I enjoyed the food and the company😎.
