Jammed with yuppies

By zagatschmagat |

Great apps- in fact I don't remember if they had entrees. Lamb meat balls, tempura avocado, bacon flat bread, shrimp in kind of a hot baking dish. All stuff I remember from a work trip years ago that were great then and great now. Cocktails terrific.

Great Pizza!

By Roseann R |

This was the last night of our San Francisco/Napa/Sonoma trip. We started at the ball game but when the score was 14-0 we decided to head out for something to eat. My Foodspotting app pointed to District for pizza, and the pictures looked great. It was a short walk to the restaurant and I loved it the minute I walked in. Friendly greeting, we seated ourselves. I had to apologize to the server who had to help with reading the menu. Both my boyfriend and I neglected to bring our glasses. The lighting is extremely subdued and we couldn't read the menu! I mentioned we wanted pizza and he made several suggestions. We had one topped with fresh arugula and another with fresh mozzarella. We had two pizzas, a couple of glasses of wine (again, no way I could read what looked to be a very impressive wine list) and a very nice end to a fantastic trip. Great place!

Great wine bar and apps

Loved the atmosphere, the art, the high ceiling loft feel. Wine and app food was excellent. Staff was super knowledgeable too. Try the flight samplers.

Excellent selection of beer, wine, and food near att park

By petersam |

I met some friends for a late meal, and since there wasn't a ball game, we had no trouble getting a table. There are several types - high tops, regular tables and couches/lounge chairs by low tables. The staff act as a team, anyone willing to get you a drink or some food. The prices are a bit higher than other parts of the city. I really liked the pizza - very tasty and served quickly. Definitely a good option for something casual or for drinks if you're in the area.

We heart Scott

Scott (bartender) is amazing!!! He was so fun and knowledgeable. He knew all about the wine valleys in Chile as I pointed one out. He just kept the whole District experience fun and (Cava) bubbly.

After work drinks

Tredny wine bar, great atmosphere, good wine selection. Does serve bar food as well as reglar cofort food. nice for a drink, have not eaten there.

A twist on brunch!

By Salvador H |

This place has a great idea for Brunch! Not your typical seating arrangement, yet it makes it fun. It almost feels like you are in your living room eating brunch with a bunch of your friends yet with a full bar in your kitchen! The food selection in the buffet was awesome. The shrimp ceviche peruvian style was really good and I wish the gravy was not as sweet. The rest was normal brunch food which tasted really good. Will come back to this place.

District - Classically Trendy

By Sue G |

We came for dinner after a SF Giants game. It's 1 block from Oracle Park so a very easy walk. We decided to sit at the bar and enjoyed talking to the bar tender and the manager. By the way, the bar stools are super comfortable... which can't always be said. The design vibe is strong with dark woods, rich fabrics, brick walls, beautiful light fixtures and sparkling clean glassware hanging over the bar. Good, varied wine selections. We shared 2 hand tossed pizzas, fries with truffle aioli, and the Chef Tasting charcuterie board. All were delicious and made with fresh-tasting ingredients. We'll return!

Best brunch we've all had

By Tommo129 |

I'm lucky enough to travel a lot with my job all over the world and this place is by far the best I've been to for a all in brunch, we came in on New Year's Day morning and were welcomed in, served straight away and looked after brilliantly by Brandon for our whole visit. The food and drinks were excellent and I'd whole heartedly recommended anyone come here if they get the chance, keep up the good work guys!!

Perfect!

This place is a charm, a jewel! The flights of wine are very well selected, but be bold and just pick a bottle. You will not be disappointed. Food is gorgeous as well and staff is friendly. Do yourselves a favor and do not miss this place!

Perfect Light, Casual Dinner

By rhopelain |

We had a couple of hours to kill before a show at the Utah Hotel and this was the perfect place to do it. We started with one of their house-made charcuterie plates which had some of the best cured meat I've had in the city. Then some deviled eggs with chili and some tempura avocado which was probably the highlight of the evening. Really unusual and very wonderful. And all that was capped off with a kind of mind-blowing guanciale pizza, and five-spice powder rubbed chicken wings. So, for three of us it was the perfect amount and it was unexpectedly yummy. All of it. It looks like District would be a great place to meet friends for drinks. Half the room is set up in several comfy looking living room areas. With a great bar and wine/beer list I think it would be a winner.

What a great pub/restaurant in a fun location

By bumbalockus |

Had heard about District from friends, stopped in after dinner down the street for a drink. Great atmosphere, old brick and timber, looks like a previous warehouse (which would make sense with the area that is now high end condos, bars, etc. all within walking distance of the ball park). Oversized couches on one side for larger parties, massive bar dominates the center of the room and high top tables everywhere...Place was packed for a Thursday night (6:30), and while only one stool at the bar, hostess was very helpful in finding another stool in the back, and asking patrons to slide down just a bit to make room for another, which all did with smiles. Great beer selection (and wines) and bartender was very helpful as we were not familiar with the local beers. His choice was great and proceeded (completely unintentional) to order their margherita pizza, topped (as suggested, again, by bartender) with prosciutto. Fantastic...great crust, zesty sauce, etc. Old Marilyn Monroe movie on the flat screen added to the fun, loud (not overly)atmosphere. No issues (safety, homeless, druggies, etc.) problems walking to several other bars in the area, 3-4 blocks in all directions. If you're in the area, stop in. Lots of fun.

Great evening meal

The District is a cool bar and restaurant with a great vibe and great menu. I was there on a Thursday night, solo, watch the game, had a couple of drinks and dinner. I was a little disappointed with the oysters on the half shell, but the curly corn and chicken sliders were a total win. The District is now on my list of places to go when I’m in town for business. Shout out to my Lyft driver Jackie who recommended this place!

Everything we had was excellent!

By Hillary C |

District has wonderful ambiance. The menus was extensive and had a great selection of Vegetarian options which we wanted for our guest. Our server Conor was knowledgeable about all aspects of the food and beverage menu. The service was attentive, very professional but also fun and engaging. We enjoyed everything that we ordered, loved the variety of seasonings and ethnic influences. Really fun evening. We will definitely come back next time we are in San Francisco.

Good, but crowded

By sunshine415 |

Unfortunately this place is right next to the ballpark so finding a decent seat took over an hour and service was slow. Maybe I will come back during the off-season.

Great spot for post-game drinks...still need to check out the food menu

Had a great couple of reds the other night after a Giants game. Service, selection and ambiance are wonderful, now I just need to try the small plates. Really enjoy the Oakland District for light bites -- and bourbon flights!

Happy Hour Oysters

By Theresa |

We came here for the $1 happy hour oysters! Very good flavor and great, friendly service. We were impressed with how fast the oysters came out, and our waiter was very nice. Would revisit on another trip.

always busy, always buzzing

By Vessiev |

I've been going there since it first opened. A great place to connect with friends or colleagues after work and enjoy a nice glass of pinot (or anything else your taste buds fancy)! The tapas are perfectly portioned.

Wow! Interesting and delicious food.

Had dinner at District after a trade show. It was a great experience. The food was fantastic with unique flavor combinations and a really interesting menu. It was refreshing to have so many unique menu choices.

Great Small Plates and Post Game Spot

By Double64Double |

This establishment has the feel of a bar that serves food ~ doesn't really look like a restaurant. The food was excellent - and we'll go back when we are in the area (and not necessarily wait for our next trip to AT&T Park). All of the small plates we tried were very very good: Stuffed Mission Figs Moroccan Style Lamb Meatballs Crispy Pork Belly Fontina and Spinach Arranchini Stuffed Eggplant They also have a nice selection of cheese and charcuterie. There is also a large selection of wines by the glass. Our server (Laertes) was excellent. The place was mobbed (as expected after a Giants game) ~ so make a reservation if you are going to go there after an event. Service was very good.

Looks can be deceiving

By RBG-Halifax |

Walking by this place looks very interesting and there are some great aspects, but some of their tables are just poor locations which challenges even the best food - the food was reasonable but nothing to comment on - smallish menu where I expected more.

Better than average

By Brett |

Nice ambiance and seating options. Average wine selections. Nicely organized into flights, however. Food was good but entree selections were limited unless you want to order pizza. Service was average- the waiters were nice but did not check on us often enough.

Bottomless Mimosa Brunch!

By Alyssa J |

This is the cutest bar. When I get back to SF, I am definitely going here for evening beverages. We went for Sunday brunch. It is such a tastefully appointed restaurant with a great airy feel and natural light. There are wood beams, exposed internal brick, and a rectangular bar in the center. The brunch itself offered tasteful food, but not a large variety of food. The mimosa varieties were great and I especially recommend the guava mimosa. The service was great as well.

Amazing ambience

By deepakna10 |

Went there just before thanksgiving. The ambience was amazing and the place was buzzing with activity. They have a Moscato collection which is nice. One must also try the pizza here.

Brunch!

By Bethany B |

We came here for brunch before a Giants game. The brunch was buffet style but everything was amazing. $15 for bottomless mimosas! I can never pass up bottomless mimosas!!!. Brandon and Ginger took care of us. They were so much fun, and gave us many great ideas on what to do on the remainder of the trip. I would recommend this place to anyone! Fair warning it is busy so I can get loud.

Pizza was mind-blowing

By ryanoriley1 |

Went with some coworkers after work and the whole place has a pretty cool vibe. Dim lit and relaxing. We ordered the pesto pizza (and added sausage) and the short rib pizza. Both were awesome, but the pesto was incredible! The dough they use is delicious. It makes for some soft, fluffy crust that I day dreamed about the whole next day.

Go for happy hour!

By TJJapan |

They have $1 oysters!! And some other excellent choices for happy hour. The drinks are not discounted, so be prepared to pay $15 for a glass of wine, but if you eat enough oysters, it will all balance out. All of the food is great, but it gets pricey after 6pm. Service is excellent. Can get crowded and noisy.

Best meal during our whole 3 week trip!

By Sambrown76 |

We were staying SoMa and decided to go to District as it was in the area. There were four of us and we ordered 20 dishes in total. Each and everyone dish was AMAZING! We also tried lots of different beers. The service was great, the ambiance was fantastic, I can not recommend this restaurant more highly. At the end of our trip we all agreed that this was the best meal of the trip.

Fun wine bar

By jocelynlee |

Great ambience, surprisingly empty on a late Saturday night, good drinks but they really need to consider opening their kitchens a little later. Maybe that's why it was so empty

Just drinks but very enjoyable

By John |

Really busy bar near to the AT&T Ball Park. Very cool open beamed very SoMa feel. Friendly waitress and good selection of wines including a high end list. Great selection of tap beers. Would be nice if they had a few more cocktails on the list but the ones we had were good. Very lively and a must see if you are in the area. Didn't eat there but heard good things.

This wine bar is an all around winner

By dustyelisa |

The District is a beautiful place, with phenomenal staff and excellent service. I brought 5 friends for a bachlorette party in May. The reservation process was so easy. Ryan was easy to work with, accessible via e-mail and phone. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and the bride-to-be called by name and made to feel special. Their decor is beautiful - high ceilings, modern design. The cozy seating areas give your group it's own space, but low couches make it easy to interact with other groups. The staff was so attentive, ensuring our glasses were never empty. I will gladly return to this place, the bar is huge and had a great vibe too

Great for a pizza and drink when close to AT&T park

By NeilJ-HongKong |

We tried district when we were going to AT&T park and had a great meal that was served by very efficient and friendly staff. Our kids loved the pizza. The bar / restaurant is busy but we were served quickly and overall its a great place for a drink / something to eat
