The service was HORRIFIC! We ordered the hummus duo as an appetizer with a kid's chicken strips at the same time as we ordered our drinks. Shortly after we order 3 adult meals. The adult dinner salad with grilled chicken came out first, before the hummus appetizer. We had to remind our server about the childs meal. We saw our drinks on the bar and had to ask her to get them for us. She completely forgot to order our Bison burger. The hummus was very bland. The kids chicken strips were to heavily breaded. The bison burger was incredibly dry. I would not recommend this restaurant.

We ate at the Anderson Lane location. Great restaurant. Service first class — thanks to Ethan, our server, and Jeff, a manager. Crudo and shashito peppers great. Butternut squash soup delicious. Wagyu steak tasty. Granache wine bottle at $24 a great deal. Patio cozy. Not cheap, but good value.

We have been coming to District on Slaughter soon after its opening. The happy hour menu is great with plates for sharing. Dog friendly outside with separate entrance. Recommend the Hog Wings and Steet Tacos along with the Cheese Plate

went there for the first time since my old favorite place moved out... Decided to try it out with a friend. First off, great decor, patio for the hot weather has turbo fans with water misting... nice touch... plus the patio is also smoke free. Inside the booths / tables were nice, and then there is the Bar. I like the large group table in the middle and it was a buzz when I got there around 6 pm. Service team (from the entry, to the wait staff) were great... friendly, and did pay attention to detail such as making sure water was topped off and tea was also topped off. We were there to talk business, so we ate just off the appetizer menu... the 3 street tacos, and the Hamachi salad (fish, greens, and fresh herbs)... they were good, they were small... we stuck with our Ice Teas... no drinks... but plenty was flowing around us. Now time for the bill.... for the two Ice Teas, two appetizers, it was $24 dollars. That is why scored them with the low rating. The menu was diverse, lots of different types of food, from bar finger foods, to nice entrees I will be looking else where before visiting this place again...

Great neighborhood restaurant with great cocktails and terrific happy hour. Light night happy is a great deal. Gluten Free Friendly.

This southwest Austin location is a Hidden Gem that you must visit when in the area. The menu is very creative and extensive and features fresh local ingredients and the cocktails compliment all of the options. They have one of the best happy hours food and drinks in Austin. And now with an expanded outside deck with a mister system and plenty of shade helps keep it cool on those hot summer days.

I took my brother for lunch there to celebrate his birthday. We sat outside on the deck. The service was very friendly and prompt, and we both loved the plates we ordered. The menu changes from time to time, based on the fresh ingredients the chef can get. The restaurant is a little more upscale that you'd expect in the area. The food is made from fresh ingredients and is very high quality and flavorful. The restaurant is located a little far from where I live, but I'm sure I'll be making some extra trips down there from time to time. I need to go try it for dinner now. I did have to look for the place a little hard. My GPS took me right to the shopping center where it is located, but the way the sign on the top of the building is placed, it is hard to see as you turn into the parking lot. My brother drove right past it. I happened to see him and called him to turn around. It is easy to kiss the place. I only saw the sign out of the corner of my eye. It would be better if they had something more obvious facing the parking lot.

Overall we really enjoyed our meal here. It was a Friday night around 8 and we were surprised to be seated right away. Ambience inside was OK, too dimly lit, and weathered board interiors are getting a bit overdone, but still nice overall. Quiet in dining area, bar area seemed quite lively. We ordered Caesar side salads before our meals and were disappointed in them. Greens were kind of limp with quite a few bits of grit in them- nothing worse in a salad. Manager gladly took them off the bill. We also ordered the trout and the scallops. Both were excellent. While the trout was a very generous order of two good sized fillets, there were only three scallops, which seemed stingy for the price ($37.00). Overall I thought the prices were high given the ambience and portions. The biggest issue here was using a gift card which had been purchased for us online by a friend. She said the purchase process was really difficult, required downloading the "inKind" app, and using the GC likewise required downloading the same app. Our waiter and the manager both said they've had lots of difficulties with people using their GC's because of the "inKind" app, and ours was no exception. It took about 15 minutes. And if your bill is for more than the GC, you have to download a CC number into the app for the balance, which we refused to do. This was only resolved when I (not the manager) suggested that they give us two separate bills, one for the GC, one for the balance. Avoid the "inKind" app. It's rubbish.

This restaurant is located in the Circle C Ranch area of south Austin and is shaded and a very nice upscale area. There were four of us for dinner this night. My husband and I arrived for our 6:30 pm reservation early because we wanted to take advantage of their happy hour, which ended at 7:00 pm. We were seated and I asked our server about happy hour beers. She stated that happy hour pricing was only in the bar and outside patio areas, which I thought was a rather stupid marketing plan. So, we sat outside and ordered some cocktails and the hummus appetizer. It was excellent, with fresh soft pita and cucumber slices. If you've never tried cucumber with your hummus, it's nice change. Out server was so nice and kept offering to refill the pita and cucumbers for us, and trust me, you'll need it as there was quite a bit of hummus. For dinner, my husband had the trout fillet, of which there were two nice sized portions. Our friends had the fish tacos, which they proclaimed to be excellent, and I had the house salad with chicken breast. It was very good, with plenty of chicken and small squares of their house made bacon to kick up the flavor a bit, and came with an avocado lime dressing, which was interesting and tasty by itself, if a little salty. They do need to watch the salt though.

This restaurant was so yummy. It's in a shopping center. Once you step inside, you don't realize that it's in the middle of shopping. The decor is great! It's not a very large space. Every table was full. The appetizers were just as delicious as the main course. Will definitely go back. My husband had the lamb chops and thought they were really good. My friend and I shared a ribeye. YUM! We had roasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts as our sides. As well as cheese mashed potatoes.

The seafood selection is extensive and tasty. The Kobe Beef was cooked perfectly and was so tender. The mixologist Cocktails were so good and refreshing. Amazing seating indoors and out with very cool decor. Very attentive and friendly staff.

We were excited that a new restaurant was coming to the neighborhood. In fact, when we saw the menu, we were really optimistic that we'd finally had a spot to go beyond the usual suburban fare. Unfortunately, District Kitchen+Cocktails didn't deliver. We had the mussels, the bison burger & the shrimp & grits. While the descriptions sounded wonderful and the dishes were plated very well, there was very little flavor to any of the dishes. I'm not sure how mussels in a tomato broth with chorizo could have so little flavor. Similarly, the bison burger just tasted like I was eating wet bread. Maybe this was an aberration. I hope my experience isn't indicative of how this restaurant usually prepares their dishes. We probably won't be back, but I hope they pull it together as I think the place has a lot of potential.

We were on our way back from Wimberley on Saturday and were hungry, looked for "restaurants near me" -- District Kitchen got good reviews, so we decided to try it. And am I glad we did! I ordered the chicken and waffles during brunch and it was absolutely delicious! It couldn't have been any better - the chicken was moist, yet crisp, and the waffles, with a little cinnamon butter, didn't need any syrup; mouth watering. I can't wait to try this restaurant again. And they own a different restaurant in north Austin, where we live, so we're definitely going to try it.

Second visit to District Kitchen in a month. This is a real nice restaurant, for being in Circle C area...not having to drive down town! Great atmosphere to chill and enjoy quiet evening or sit in the bar and watch a game while enjoying a drink and appetizers! Food selection is great. Fresh sourced selections including a tasty smoked pork chop that is to die for! We also enjoyed the chorizo and goat cheese appetizer, 3 chicken/pork tacos (excellent), and the hanger steak. Cocktails selections are excellent; they also have fresh local beers on tap, like Hi Sign Brewing, my favorite!

My friends and I were on the way to a weekend Texas hill country ranch party to view the wildflowers and visit other friends. Using Waze to avoid Austin's traffic congestion we soon found ourselves on an unfamiliar road and after four hours on the road we were stumped to find a place to eat. Soon a sign in a small shopping center led us to the "District" an eatery that looked promising and we were really hungry. What a delightful find! The ambiance was very interesting - a very creative cross between industrial and rustic.. As it was a chilly morning, we chose a cozy table inside. The menu proved to be quite interesting also. We had a very professional and charming waitress who helped us navigate the rather un-traditional Hispanic brunch offerings. Two in our party chose Eggs Benedict which had a definite southwest flair and two of us chose the Migas which were outstanding and definitely un-traditional with several sauces. Rather than wax on about how outstanding the food and everything about the District is, suffice it to say on our return to Beaumont we enjoyed a repeat meal in this charming and yummy eatery but this time enjoyed their tree shaded outdoor deck. PS: The waitress provided excellent gluten free advice.

This restaurant has an interesting touch with their menu. Creative and inspired menu offerings don't disappoint. Regular menu choices of street tacos and grilled octopus were spot on and the special butternut squash hummus appetiser was a tasty surprise. They have a good wine and beer selection, too. The wait staff is attentive but not overly so.

Following church services members of my family went to the District for brunch/lunch. This was my second time to visit this restaurant, and I found the food and service to be very good. There is sufficient parking for patrons around the restaurant.

Did not know what to expect, the restaurant is in a strip mall. It has a large patio and the night we were there, music. We sat inside, great ambiance. I had fish tacos, they were very good. The rest of the party were equally delighted with their food. Before the end of the meal the manager came over to check on the food and service, nice touch. I would go again, very pleased.

Ate here 2 nights ago. Unfortunately, I have to agree with Converse99. Our neighborhood is RIPE for a good restaurant, and District looked promising. I like that their menu is not too deep, but I honestly had a hard time finding an entree that appealed to me. My husband agreed with me. We considered ordering a few appetizers, but again... nothing looked great, although there are interesting looking items on both sides of the menu. I ordered the grilled Ceaser salad and he got the beet salad. Oh-oh, they came out with the main courses. The staff was very apologetic and did take them off our bill, which we certainly appreciated, but of course we were looking forward to salads first. While I like the idea of grilled Romaine, the dressing was tasteless and the salad was just bland. My husband did like his beet salad. The entrees were boring, despite the fact that my husband ordered rabbit! I had chicken with apricots and pear sauce; the breast was stuffed with cheese. Overall, too sweet and just not delicious. It was ok. I didn't try the rabbit, but husband also rated it ok. My iced tea was good, fresh-brewed, and my husband liked his super-Tuscan wine. We're still waiting for a really good restaurant in our neck of town (Mopac/Slaughter). Come on chefs!!

Very cool place a little outside Austin ( North ). A menu rather burgers but possibility to also order beautiful salads Service is super nice and the rating not too salty (under $40 with drinks ) There is the possibility to eat on the terrace I recommend for the general quality of the dishes and for the very good Price quality ratio!

Ate dinner the other night with my wife. Great atmosphere, professional and friendly service, but more importantly, great food. Grilled oysters are a must-have if you like oysters. My pork chop was perfectly grilled and tender. The brussels sprouts are excellent, as well. My wife had the trout, which had a pesto sauce, looked wonderful, and the one bite I had confirmed it tasted as good as it looked. Excellent coffee! Wonderful server, Rani ... enjoyed her job, and she enhanced the dinner experience. If you haven’t been to this place, I’d say try it!

This restaurant is a great addition to the South Austin Circle C, Shady Hollow and Oak Hill areas. Small and Cozy, but it accommodates a reasonable amount of people. The patio is great to hang out and enjoy cooler weather. The chef offers a ever-changing selection of great food. The hog wings are always a consistent crowd favorite as are the desserts. The environment is always friendly and inviting and the staff is always willing to go that extra mile to make your meal and experience the best. Try some of the special bar blends and off beat menu items, you won't regret it.

The food was really good. We ordered the charcuterie + cheese board. The pork belly was my favorite item on the board. It was meaty and very crispy. The type of cheese on the board could have been a little more exciting. The braised pork was very good as was the shrimp and grits. The wine was good but a little pricey. The waiter hardly came around to check on our drinks and I had to call him over for things several times. There are not very many items on the menu so you may only need to make one or two visits to get a taste for most of the items on the menu.

Fortunate to have this restaurant down the street from us. Great place for cocktails on the patio after work or weekend dinner with friends.

Everything met and even exceeded our expectations. The place is pleasant and totally fit for families and kids. The food was excellent and they are flexible to accommodate changes within the range of capability. Very amiable and efficient service. Highly recommended.

A nice place to take a date for a happy hour. Service is very friendly and nice ambiance. They have a good selection of wines, the house Merlot was incredible. Good appetizers - we tried the chicken Naan and it was delicious. My date ordered the chicken bacon and she loved it. I ordered the pork chop which looked impressive but the meat was overcooked and required an effort to cut with a knife... nothing close to Perry's Friday pork chops! Bottom line, go there for happy hour or a date but don't expect fine dining if you're hungry.

Outstanding, friendly service from our server, Lyndsay, and the manager, Ben. They made us feel very welcome, described food and beverage options, and answered all questions. All food items were tasty, prepared and presented well, and were delivered in short order. Looking forward to the next opportunity to dine at District Kitchen!

I met a friend here for a late lunch. The menu at lunch in a Friday consisted of brunch items over priced appetizers and less desirable lunch options. I finally settled with the pork tacos. They were ok not great not good just ok. The best thing about the meal was the pitcher of mimosas for $12. Service was slow food ok and it was hard to find kinda hidden.

Average sums up the entire experience with the exception of value, which is below average. There are much better options within a few miles.

Awesome food the octopus is a must try and Matt the waited knows his food like a gourmet chef. The way he explained the food made full. Amazing food and great atmosphere. Love the tables and benches. So rustic and old. Great food you must try the octopus it was cooked to perfection.

I have been here a few times and its always great. The atmosphere is really good inside and out. Its a bit loud inside the bar but that's to be expected. They often have music out on the porch in nicer weather and that's fun. I have had almost all of the appetizers at the happy hours I have attended and they are all really good. The drinks are also great; reasonable prices; not over the top. For dinner I have had the shrimp and grits. Very good! Highly suggest coming here.

Back again at the District for our routine weekly Friday lunch restaurant rotation. The eating experience here is top notch with excellent food and drinks. We once again sit in the bar where I enjoy the atmosphere. The bartender has the coolest mustache and he knows his mixology stuff. Since I was ordering brunch I decided to order the District Paloma. I never tried this drink so took a chance. He also ask us if we wanted beignets. I thought about it but wanted to save my appetite for my meal. I probably should return for coffee and beignets later. I ordered the Un-Traditional Migas and had it before so I knew what to expect. There was no one in the bar and a few eating in the main seating area. The TVs were showing ESPN. My drink arrived and it tasted very good. And not long our food arrived and looked and smelled great. With a big organic egg on top and took one bite. Delicious. I ate it all. I finished my meal and drink, and left happy.

This was my first trip to District Kitchen and Cocktails and I'd be willing to give it another try. The food was good but the service, while friendly, was inattentive. This restaurant has a good drink menu.

Neighborhood place in Circle C. Attentive staff and great drinks. Worth a try. Will try Brunch next.

The service is wonderful at District Kitchen and the food is great. First time I've ever had rabbit and it was good! Scallops were perfect, served with pureed peas, mushrooms and beets. We shared the special appetizer, sauteed mushrooms and they were stellar!

I'm lucky that I was with four regulars who recommended many appetizers, entrees, wines and cocktails. A long leisurely evening on the patio included hummus, pork belly crostini, hog wings (to die for) and Moroccan lamb kabobs for starters. Reuben fritters were amazing. My nawlins shrimp and grits were tasty. Others raved about the bison burger, chicken and bacon and pork chop. Chef Amir Hajimalecki know his stuff. I look forward to a return trip.

Love the food at this place. The butternut squash bisque is my favorite and the beer bread is pretty tasty too!

This is a great little place to meet my hubby after a workday. With crazy busy schedules we don't get to plan date nights very often so when we are both in town and in the mood for a break, entertaining bartenders and gourmet food, this is where you will find us. I wish the bar seating could accommodate more. It's the best place to hang out and watch the bartender whip up his fabulous cocktails. Highly recommendable. I have tried everything on the menu and time to start back at the top.

We regularly eat here mostly for lunch. The place is ultra modern and more geared to those without or leave kids at home. The menu continuously changes with the seasons to keep things fresh. Everything on the menu is fantastic. The drinks whether mixed, wine or beer is just equally great. It is definitely a place to romance your lived one.

When we first heard of the opening of District, we were pleases to know of new eats in the neighborhood. There is little around our hood to really enjoy and the last big opening was Cafe Malta which was touted as downtown cuisine in south Austin. And well, we all know what happened there. So with some trepidation we headed out to check out the new digs. First impressions were excellent. The space is very nicely put together with interesting decor. Lot's of wood and low lighting, a large community table by the bar and spacious outdoor patio. We were greeted by a Maitre Di upon entry and as is our usual MO, heading right up to the bar. The Maitre Di is an interesting touch, however this jolly fellow was more of an ubber host than a head waiter. All the staff where smiling and welcoming us in. They had only been open a few days at this point and I can say after frequenting often, they staff is always like this. This all stems from the owner Amir. Who we got to meet shortly after we were seated at the bar. Amir is polite, funny and informative. He is a congenial young man, with a diverse background. He is the 5th star in my review. We go to District to say hi to him as much as we want to eat. I could of written a review right after visiting, but I wanted to wait mainly because I saw the potential of great things and the first time in, we got what one might expect and that is some kinks. However, I can now say they have hit their stride. At this point we mainly hang at the bar and enjoy some appys. Hog wings. Ridiculously, fall of the bone tender braised wings from a Hog. Served with a shiner tamarind sauce. Get them, they are 7 bucks during happy hour. Shishito peppers. Blistered and served with a chili lime aioli. Awesome. We get them every time we drop by. Hummus duo. Chickpea and featured hummus with toasted pita. They bring this out as a little taster tease. Salami Flatbread. Soppressata, fresh mozzarella, with tomato sauce. Don't get all Home Slice on me, this is a good representation of flatbread. It's not a pizza. Colorado lamb chops. Perfectly cooked with a nice semi sweet blackberry demi glaze. They seem to do most of their meats very well. Next on my to try list is the braised pork shoulder. They have a well priced wine list and some very interesting cocktails on the menu. I generally enjoy a shot of crown with my Estrella Damm Daura and kick back and enjoy the scene. Rumor has it in the spring they will be offering a new menu, french theme. Bring it Amir...

Second visit. Was not impressed with first visit. Same holds true again. Ordered overly priced drinks and good appetizers. The appetizers came long before the drinks. Clueless waitstaff, clueless bar staff, and equally clueless management. So much potential, great footprint and location, but huge failure to execute. Will go next door to Satellite Bistro and Bar and wait to see if they can catch up to their competition

A group of us went and had an awesome time! Drinks and food were delicious. Their flank steak and asparagus were the best. We ordered just about every appetizer and all were very tasty! Excellent waiter.

Had brunch here and it wasn't that great. The food was passable, but service was very slow. We were given the option of eating indoors or out. Since it was over 100 degrees we didn't really feel like eating outside. No one else did either, but the misters were going full blast the whole time were were there (about 2 hours). I think they'll have to shut them off next week when Austin moves to Stage 2 Water Restrictions. The spicy chicken sandwich I had was nothing special. Certainly it wasn't crisp and crunchy. The fries were pretty good. My wife's Eggs Benedict were OK, but again nothing special. Prices were pretty reasonable though. It took quite a while to place our orders. We were never asked if we needed anything or if everything was OK. When I wanted to leave I noticed our waitress making drinks, which led me to think perhaps they're short staffed. It was also very warm in there. I'm not a fan of Austin Restaurants being freezing, but we were sweating. We'd eaten here a while back when they first opened for dinner and weren't impressed very much back then either.

My son and his family stopped here while visiting us from California. He raved about the hog wings and, after an initial frustrating attempt to have breakfast at a close by restaurant, decided to come here. We were greeted and seated immediately in a circular booth close to the entry. Our server was prompt and friendly, explaining the options for breakfast on the day after New Year's day. I didn't see anything on their brunch menu that appealed to me so I opted for the Moroccan Lamb Kabobs because the hog wings weren't listed. Wife ordered a basic bacon and eggs plate from the kids menu. I also ordered a glass of champagne, not knowing that they offered mimosas for $3 less. The four lamb kabobs were tasty, though somewhat small in size and I shared some of the Bacon Beignets that daughter in law ordered. Overall, the service was fast and friendly but the seating was solid wood and not that comfortable. The food was OK but in my opinion overpriced for the amount. As I mention in the title, just a little too eclectic for our Texas taste buds. There is plenty of parking available and outdoor seating during good weather conditions. This restaurant isn't bad; it just isn't a place we would consider visiting again.

Great Neal at this cozy, upscale, neighborhood venue. Carter, our server (see photo) was great, friendly and accomplished dating. Fresh Massachusetts oysters. Yum! Chicken Kirage tasty. Raghu steak served with potatoes and onion rings really really good! We ate at the Anderson and Shoal Creek location — and I couldn’t find it on TripAdvisor …

Solo early dinner at bar. Jesse was very knowledgeable of food and wine and spirits and led the way to an enjoyable meal! Started with the Goat Cheese and Chorizo Aranchini with an amazing pepper/tomato sauce, then to the ground lamb kebabs and then the Wagyu chimichurri flank steak cooked to a perfect medium rare and substituted the roasted corn risotto for the potatoes (Jesse's recommendation) and was perfect! Love the half-price bottle of wine option (changes daily). First time at District Kitchen and not the last!!

District Kitchen more than fulfilled it's delicious menu, but the service we received left our evening less than perfect. My husband and I shared Truffle Prosciutto Naan and Beet Salad. I enjoyed the Spring Pasta, and he, a delicious Rainbow Trout. Everything was perfectly seasoned, fresh and local. My husband's trout was on a bed of grilled asparagus and he commented how excellently it was prepared. The pasta featured spring vegetables including asparagus that was prepared in a totally different way than my husband's, but was, again, perfect, sweet, and crisp. We'd love to say we'd return because of the food, but the ambience and service we received make us pause. We were up front with the maitre'd about wanting to sit outside, and were told that there was a 30-45 minute wait, but that we could be seated right away inside. After thinking it through, we decided to go ahead and be seated in the restaurant, even though it was dark, cold, and the wooden bench booths seemed unappealing. I put a jacket on when we walked in, and removed it when we left. We asked for a table, next to the window, (still hopeful for a little sunshine on the beautiful spring evening) instead of a booth, but were told that they were reserved for larger parties of four; so we ended up sitting away from the sunshine--my husband on the hard wooden "booth" bench and I in a chair. I figured at least he could look outside. As we began to order my husband inquired if there were any "happy hour" specials in effect still, since we were early in the evening, and were told that there were, if we were sitting on the patio (full), or in the bar (which was about five feet from our table and also crowded.) Not surprisingly the restaurant was practically empty at this point in the evening. The waiter talked to his manager; his manager came over to ask what he could do, but we weren't left with a sense that anything could be done (I suggested maybe just honoring whatever the happy hour prices, but I don't recall whether the manager said he would do this, and we didn't end up ordering any beverages--the manager did comp our appetizer--and we appreciate this, but it was hard to overcome the feeling that--what we hoped for the evening--relaxing conversation in sunshine--wasn't going to happen.) We should have gone next door to grab a taco from Torchy's so we could sit on the patio, and just had a lower expectation for service because it's a different type of restaurant. 3/4 through our meal my husband noted that no one had been seated at the table near the window. However, when one person was eventually seated, two of the place settings were removed. The food was excellent, but I wish our waiter had warned me that the Naan was similar to the salad I'd ordered--I would have switched salads--we ate a lot of arugula. Both were delicious--especially the Naan--but I had a different picture of what the dish would be, and help from the waiter would have improved the experience before I even placed the order. We really loved the eclectic menu and the chef didn't disappoint--wish the front of the restaurant matched the excellence in the kitchen.

We arrived during Thursday happy hours and many diners were enjoying the patio. The inside seating was pretty open. Our party of four enjoyed a very leisurely two+ hour dinner and our server understood that we were going to take our time for dinner as we had a lot of catching up and socializing. Drinks before dinner were good, nothing out of the ordinary, and maybe a little pricey. Entrees were judged by all four diners to be very good. I had the wagyu beef and it was enjoyable. My wife had shrimp and grits and it also got a thumbs up. This is an enjoyable, neighborhood bistro. I feel like I spent a little too much, but we had a good time and enjoyed a good meal.

We went again to District and tried their new Spring menu. As always, it was great, with wonderful, creative dishes and great flavors. They have really established a standard in how to excel, and it is right in our neighborhood. I love this place!

Our family went to the District Kitchen to celebrate my birthday. We had a wonderful time with good food and an excellent wait staff. Our waiter, Seraphin, was tops, explaining everything on the menu that needed explaining and going over daily specials. Several others stopped by our table to bring us things or remove dishes that were no longer needed. I had chicken and ravioli, which was different, but good. Also had desserts at our table--oreo tiramisu and banana pecan crumble--both were super delicious! There weren't many children in the restaurant, but they had a children's menu, and the boys seemed to enjoy the pizza.

We visited District this morning with friends for brunch. This was our first visit here and I was immediately drawn to the cozy atmosphere. We were quickly greeted by our server upon being seated. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was some of the best I've had. We also split a carafe of mimosas for $13. One of my friends ordered a bloody Mary, I tried it and to my surprise I liked it and I don't typically like them. Our service was great during our visit, our food was great and the drinks were great! We are all in mutual agreement that we will be going back again soon!

But we were there for dinner and to watch a game. Sat at the bar, which was good because the main restaurant was nearly empty. Great location, interesting menu but no sizzle. I'd come back to try the brunch but the scene at dinner on a weekend had no energy. Had a few different things...two days later I can't recall anything about them. So, especially in Austin where good food abounds, this place isn't making the case for itself. Fingers crossed for brunch...

We met several friends here last evening and unfortunately most of us were disappointed with our meal. First, the service was slow, admittedly it was happy hour and crowded, but the bar seemed to be badly backed up. We ordered several appetizers and they ere the bright spot of the meal as they were all flavorful and nicely presented. When our entrees arrived, most were only lukewarm. My wife's chicken was quite bland and my steak, supposedly a prime cut, was less than tender. When the bill arrived, I was amazed to discover they charged me $2 for an ice cube in my single malt scotch. After I inquired about this charge, it was taken off the bill, but REALLY.

We were on our way to the Austin airport so looked for a place to have dinner along the way. The District Kitchen was a choice—and a great one! We had street tacos, drinks & had the NY strip for dinner. Everything was really delicious. We would definitely come back!

This is the replacement restaurant formerly located where Suzie's Chinese Grill was for decades. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The décor is best described as industrial (cold and unemotional) and the music tape included pieces that were repetitive base booming were almost unbearable. The shrimp and avocado salad is a no-starter. The shrimp was white, limp, slimy and had no flavor. Did not finish it. Caesar salad was not remarkable, no bite from garlic or parmesian. Spanish octopus- this was an ok dish, due to the beans and chorizo, the octopus serving was very very small and flavorless. The scallops and green pea risotto consisted of some well cooked scallops over what looked to be condensed pea soup. Did not finish. The beer bread was doughy and not special. Service was very good, Fin was our waiter and was very attentive. Will not return, least pleasant experience in 2019.

We ate dinner here last night, my wife and I had a fantastic meal. I would echo her sentiments which is we need to come here more often. My photos will include a menu so you can see the descriptions. Everything we ate this meal was worthy of comment and was delicious. Carter, our waiter was quite professional, but at the same time very genuinely friendly, and made a great meal even better. Enjoyed the bit of conversation I had with the general manager. His picture, along with Carter’s will be included with this post. Alas, I don’t remember his name. The food at this place has been good every time we’ve eaten here and I would say we could be up to six or seven times as I write this review. Usually we sit outside which is cozy enough, although the inside is very well appointed and cozy as well. I had a frozen margarita and my wife had a couple of glasses of wine. It was happy hour which was a nice deal. We ordered shishito peppers and the Moroccan kebabs off of the happy hour menu and added the whipped feta which was a memorable dish. We had the Fesenjoon, a Persian dish I believe. Yum! I can’t rave enough about the dessert which was absolutely one of the tastiest things I’ve had in a long time, and a nice blend of flavors and textures. As best I can describe it, it was a very dense chocolate brownie with tiramisu on the top, served with a small, delicious, ice cream and a wonderful chocolate sauce. Oh my! It was perfect. Truly. Coffee was good too. Without question, this place deserves a higher rating than it’s getting on TripAdvisor. As far as my wife and I are concerned it’s in the top 10 when you consider the incredibly tasty food, the great service, and a fair price for what you get. Not cheap, but good value and quite a bit cheaper than lots of restaurants in this town with food that doesn’t compare to the food at this place. Thanks again Carter. Nice job. And, three cheers to the chef!

Had a delicious brunch his past Saturday with my husband and daughter. The food and service were perfect! I had Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and it was the best I've ever had. My husband had the French Toast, and my daughter had an omelette. They were amazed as well. You can't go wrong here!

This is the third or fourth time we have been at District and are happy to have this restaurant as part of the Circle C area. We went at a couple mid-week for dinner to celebrate a birthday and arrived about 7pm. There were only a few other tables occupied and the staff is smart enough to space out the diners so you are not sitting all in one "section." We appreciated that. Staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. Typically, there is a special and we were hoping for some sort of "jerk" dish - as we LOVED it last time we were there. But, the wait staff did not mention a special when we arrived. We both started with the beet salad, which is a favorite. The arugula is dressed with a pomegranate vinaigrette that is a bit sweet and a bit acidic...perfect with the yellow and red beets, feta and nuts. My husband had the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin which was cooked perfectly to his request and was very tender. However, it was served over cold orzo...which was very odd. It wasn't just room temp, but actually cold. We thought it was a mistake, but were told that was correct. We would order a different side, if possible next time, as this was not enjoyable. I had the king salmon and the skin was prepared perfectly crunchy, but lacked flavor. The risotto was perfectly cooked, but needed salt. (Which, by the way, they do not put on the table. I had to ask for it.) Some sea salt would have finished this much better. We also shared the Brussels sprouts - which were the star of the meal. Yum. And, we finished with the pistachio cannoli cake - a true gem. A bit salty, a bit sweet - but not overly sweet. A great finish to the meal. We enjoy District, but wish the menu changed a bit more often. And, we want the "jerk" filet back...and the ice cream/cookie dessert. Maybe next time...

The food, drinks, staff and atmosphere are all great!! They also have a reverse Happy Hour after 9PM and all day on Sunday.

Loved the Brushetta, street tacos, and especially the hog wings. Boudin balls were just OK. Drink prices are insanely high even during happy hour! Atmosphere is nice and patio area really nice. Service good too. If you come spend your money on the food and have just one drink as to have more will cost you. They may have the highest beer and drink prices in Austin! Come on guys, $4 for a bottle of domestic beer?

The menu was extensive with great appetizer and entree choices. The Chicken & Bacon was phenomenal. The service on the patio was slow. I order a beer before dinner. The beer did not arrive until after the food. I ordered the second beer at that time, it came quicker than the first, but was hot. I would recommend the restaurant for dinner. However, you will have better luck getting your drinks directly from the bar.

It might've been just a bad night, but the food was not very good. Ratatouille was burned. Wine didn't come until we were done with the steak. Just not a very good place for the money.

My husband and I wanted a last minute date night on a Friday night. Okay honestly, I told him we were having a date night because I was all made up earlier as I had been a makeup model at Texas Laser and Aesthetics Academy. I of course consorted my trust bookmarks and happened to stumble up on District Kitchen for our dinner choice. We arrived sometime after 5pm and the bar and patio area was busy. We were told that if you sit in either area we could get their happy hour deals. We settled on the patio area because who doesn't love happy hour specials? I will note that the service was slow out here because they were extremely busy. I am glad we were not in a hurry or this could of been annoying. My husband ordered the frozen margarita and I ordered the GPA + German Pale Ale. Apparently they were out of my beer. I would like to side note here, because this has happened to me multiple times since I have moved to Texas. I am not sure who the person(s) is that is drinking up all the good beer before i get to it but you really need to cut that out. We started off with the shistito peppers off the happy hour menu as an appeitzer. I was introduced to these types of peppers at a recent Yelp Elite event and loved them! There are simple with that being grilled peppers served with chili aioli dip. They were not as good as the recent yelp event I attended but they are a solid lower calories choice for an appetizer. Sometimes simple is much better. We both ordered the bison burger which came on a whole wheat bun. I upgraded my burger by adding an avocado and my husband had his with an egg. Also we upgraded the fries to truffle fries. All were solid choices and I would highly recommend at least upgrading to the truffle fries. I would note that we both didn't get much fries. It was maybe a half of cup worth. Sad panda! However, with the amount we did get I would still say it was a solid choice. Another thing to note here, I originally tried to order the chef's special umami burger. However, after about 5 minutes after placing my order the waiter sadly informed me they were out. I was a little annoyed because this was the second thing I had wanted that they were out of. Despite the sadness that occurred, I was given both a solid beer and food choice that did make up for the stuff I didn't have.

This restaurant is located in our neighborhood and I have been here many times. Today was special since I had my niece with me and wanted to take her out for a nice meal. Like always the service was excellent and seated to our booth quickly. Our server explained some items on the menu and todays specials. Of all the items I have had here is good where all food is prepared by a chef. I ordered the Migas along with a Mimosa. My drink was great along with my brunch which was very tasty. This place is really geared toward an adult crowd not parent with small children. There is another restaurant nearby for that. So this place is a great place to eat, have a drink and relax. There is plenty of parking and valet is not present here, for this place is quiet small but punches big in terms of food and drinks quality. I am also not sure if they take reservations for the evening. Nice to have this gem nearby where I have another choice of types of places to have breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.

First, I'm glad that we have what appears on a Friday night in SW as a popular spot. We came for dinner around 6 and were able to get seated promptly. This was our third time here as we really wanted this to be a regular "go to" in our part of Austin. But unfortunately, the third time was not the charm. Perhaps we're ordering the wrong things. This time I had the Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin. It was cooked nicely. The bacon was tasty. But it came with orzo...that was served cold. I was very surprised by this. I even asked the waiter if that was correct. He said it was. I guess a cold side is ok with a warm meat. But this wasn't what I expected. My wife's Texas Chopped Salad was "ok" as well. Fortunately she ordered the Avocado Vinaigrette on the side as it was very hot/spicy. SO, over all, we were again under whelmed. Service was great. We enjoyed the brussel sprouts and soup we had. But again, nothing to write home about. And we really do want another good local "joint" to call our own.

Perhaps it was because it was Valentine's Day, but I felt the prices were a bit steep. We had a plate of small pieces of cheese and meat, scraps basically, but as we just wanted a drink and a chat, it was enough, just. The main valentines menu was 75 dollars a head, and you really have to love someone to pay that in a bar. However, the service was good the bar staff knowledgeable but just because you charge a lot it doesn't make the place top class.

Ordinary. Except for rabbit (gimmicky for Austin) and spicy grilled peppers, there is no originality here. Service is also ordinary. Food is "as expected."

We were in District Kitchen for the first time on Sunday. Friends said it was outstanding. The brunch menu was not large but many things looked tempting including the Lavender French Toast. Well, it sounded pretty amazing but something about that much sugar just did not appeal to me. Instead I had Eggs Benedict. While predictable, it was very good. My partner had shrimp and grits and said it was quite nice. What was truly remarkable was the service. We were greeted immediately and it was obvious the staff was glad we were there. The waiter was generous with his time and more than one person checked on us during our meal. Take note you mediocre TexMex restaurants in Austin. We have choices.

The food and service was very good. Humus appetizer was some of mother best I have eaten. Shrimp cocktail was good, just be careful of the bite!

Nice neighborhood venue — child friendly but with craft cocktails and some upscale menu selections. Able kitchen can accommodate gluten free needs. Not haute cuisine but capable and a good suburban option if you are in he neighborhood.

Our daughter picked the Anderson location for Brunch. 3 people left very satisfied!! Mimosas and lots of other choices. Try the bacon beignets!

Sometimes is nice to avoid the traffic hassle of going downtown so we opted to dine at the Circle C area restaurant for our anniversary. Pleasant weather had us dining outside where our waiter was friendly, professional and attentive. We shard the beer bread with pimento spread, Seared scallops with butternut squash risotto and a caesar salad. the scallops were well prepared as was the risotto. BtW the deck is pet friendly although we left ours home.

My husband and I stopped by for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Front staff not inviting or helpful which was disappointing. Wait staff was really accommodating and great and reviewing the menu and drink menu. The food was decent, nothing to rave home about especially for the price. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband the bison burger. We also had a side of the blue crab Mac n cheese. We definitely will be sticking to Jack Allen’s or The League instead. Overall, mediocre at best.

Bam! This place is great! It has been open for 9 months and promises to be our go-to neighborhood haunt. We ate lunch there today and our eyes are still rolling in delight. The appetizer Hog Wings came with a subtly sweet and spicy sauce that we used to smother the perfectly braised hog shanks. The Texas chopped salad with chicken was a recreation of this salad made famous in California amplified by a vibrant vinaigrette. The Norleans Shrimp excited my mouth with slightly sweet grits topped by two sunny-side up eggs and six succulent shrimp. We barely had room for dessert, but the culinary-school pastry chef's peach cobbler with cinnamon ice cream was irresistible. And we did not resist! And are glad we did not. The fresh local peaches dotted the perfectly chunky cobbler and the ice cream pulled the whole dessert into another dimension. Wow!

This is a review of the Shoal Creek location. I am in agreement of other reviewers that thought there was nothing special about the food and the décor (uninviting, is a good description. also cold and not meaning temperature ) has a lot to be desired. We had the Pimento Burger and they overdid it on the sauce. Every time you took a bite, this sauce was oozing out of the bun. It was not a very pleasant taste either. We also had the Wagyu Steak Lunch and Wagyu is known for it's tenderness and flavor and this had neither. Get back to basics and be more concerned about the quality of food you prepare and less about the latest décor trends!

Came with a couple of girl friends for dinner without a reservation. Wait was going to be a hour and half for inside seating. We lucked out and a table was leaving the bar area as we walked in. They were leaving as happy hour was over. I was starving and ordered the shrimp avocado starter. It came quickly. I then had the tuna poke for my entree. My girl friend got the pasta entree and thought it was good. I forgot what the other one got. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Drinks were good. Server Sean A was attentive. Overall a good night. Next time I would make a reservation. They had live music on their patio. Parking can be a bit of a pain as there are a few popular restaurants in the same shopping area. Also beware inside when busy is very loud if you have a hearing issue.

The food and staff are incredible. We heard about the amazing food at The District so decided to celebrate our anniversary there. Not only did the food live up to our expectations, the wait staff and owners made the whole evening special. The food as well as the décor is innovative and fresh. What a treat! We will definitely be there again the next time we are in Austin.

I used to really like going here. The food, the drinks and the staff were wonderful. It's pretty close to where I live, so it was perfect. After the past few visits I've decided that I won't be going back. The staff is still great, but everything else has gone downhill. The food wasn't as good and even my favorite desert (chocolate Nutella mouse) wasn't as good. I'm really bummed.

Circle C needs this restaurant - an eclectic menu that doesn't highlight burgers and pizza! The menu changes to honor seasonal selections and the chef/owner delivers tasty small plates as well as entrees. The bar area is nice to grab a few drinks or even eat dinner if you can get a table. Stick with the featured cocktails, my last request for a French 75 left the bartender bewildered.

My mom and I have been here twice in a week. We started with the tres amigos drink during happy hour and it was on point. We tried a variety of both appetizers, salads, and the fish. Everything was presented well and tasted amazing. The atmosphere is pretty casual and the patio is very nice. Will be back! Great place to meet friends!

This restaurant/bar is comfortable yet upscale. From the industrial fixtures and decor to the lovely drinks and infused liquors from the mixologists at the bar, this place is one of our new faves. The food is really good, not cheap but high quality. Lots of healthy options, local ingredients, fresh and fabulous. Go to Happy Hour or Reverse Happy Hour to try small portions of favorite entrees or popular drink options. I'm addicted to the Soft Glow! Inside or outside dining, this place has something for everyone. It's right around the corner of Slaughter and Escarpment so don't wait, go today!

Stupid is as stupid does once again in Austin. Arrived for happy hour with 4 people. Bar had no seating. Too cold to sit outside especially with no patio heaters. Allowed to sit in nearly empty dining room but upon being seated were told we could not enjoy happy hour specials in dining room...only the packed bar area. Let server know we would leave if unable to do happy hour. Server said sorry, we said goodbye. I'll never understand why a restaurant would rather turn away paying customers, and keep empty seats, than be flexible and make some money. Stupid rules...stupid place. Went around the corner to their competition and dropped $300 on drinks and dinner and never looked back!

Nice little place that does brunch the right way! I highly recommend the Heart Break or the Eggs Benedict.

I hosted a baby brunch at District today and I can't speak highly enough of the experience. While I visit District occasionally on a personal level for great food and drinks - and I highly recommend sitting the bar and ordering off the appetizer menu for a fun experience - today was a little different. We had 11 ladies for a baby shower brunch and the staff was fantastic! From the excellent service over the phone to secure our reservation a few weeks before to the attention we received from both the hostess and our server today, District did a great job. Our server gave us time to catch up and chat, then skillfully handled our orders, many of which had special requests. They split up the bill as per our request easily and quickly, providing great service start to finish. And I don't think I've ever heard so many ooohs and aaaahs as the food was placed in front of our guests! Great job, District team!

I went to dinner to this place with my friend, and we had a great time. The food and service were both great. I plan to be back

We ate dinner here last Friday. I'll admit up front that there is not much on their menu that appeals to me, personally, but we were invited by family. I had their hummus plate and soup - Potato and Leek - both of which were good. Excellent cocktail - Negroni. My wife had fish, my sister the charcuterie plate. Parking is often horrible. My primary complaint is that every seat in the place is a flat wooden bottom and back, a hardwood torture device. Take note restaurant. Get some decent chairs and we'd become more regular customers, since you are in my neighborhood.

Arrived at 8:15 on a Tuesday nite. There were only about 10 other patrons. Entrees finally arrived just after 9:00. What do they do when it's busy? My pappardelle was luke warm and tasted like it had been sitting under the warmer for most of that time, while the kitchen located and undercooked my wife's wagyu flank steak. Don't understand how they could label it wagyu as it was tough and stingy. Manager was speechless when we didn't want to box up more than half our meals... and 'didn't know there was a problem'. Where the heck was he, not keeping an eye on the kitchen???? Most definitely two trips in one.... first and LAST!

...you'll know this is the place because of the garlicky, seafood aroma that greets you at the front door. If you don't like mussels, well, that's a problem. Small plates selection was varied and everything we ordered was tasty. Be aware that Happy Hour prices are confined to the bar area and patio...

Very dark, country ambience that seems to work. Very different menu, but the pork is a must try. The pork and Gumbo were definitely the top picks, the other food was average. Will definitely try again. The dark atmosphere brings a sense of romance. Great service.

The food is very good. In an area with few upscale choices, it is a good option. Food is fresh and flavorful. Prices are fair, and their appetizer menu is offered at a discount during happy hour. Nice drink selections also.

We have gone tot he District Kitchen+Cocktails twice and been very pleased. Both times my wife and I ordered different dishes and loved them. The peppers were excellent, and the fresh catch has been great both times. Service is efficient and friendly. It's great to have something like this in the neighborhood

Service was impeccable. Menu, cocktail & wines were fabulous. Nice outdoor seating. My first choice in this area.

The food and drinks here are okay, but it's way overpriced, and the uncomfortable seating will ensure you don't stay long.

Visited with a friend and her toddler son and had a great experience. Despite living just around the corner I hadn't been here before but I'll definitely be back. The Cuban sandwich was great and we also had a pitcher of mimosas that was made with fresh squeezed juice rather than the concentrate that you often get in other places. Our servers were really friendly and helpful, including a gentleman that was obviously new and in training. Will be back.

I have eaten here now 4 times; each time I have had something different, and not been dissapointed! This time was no exception...celebrating sister in law's 68th birthday...I had the ribeye, wife had the Wagyu and sis had the NY strip...all were served with very good sides...everything we had was cooked excellent, steaks and sides were very tasty, good service, and overall experience was great. For being in Circle C area, this was an excellent option to going down town and fighting traffic, with surprisingly good drinks and food...what more can you ask for!

We've come for breakfast a few times and just recently for dinner. We like this place. It's not our favorite, there isn't anything super special that would bring us back more often than we already go. But if we haven't been in a while it's a nice place to mix it up. Food is great, service is usually pretty good, no complaints.

I have come here once before but never for Happy Hour, I have to say these guys are doing something special here. 5.50 cocktails? How can you go wrong!! Not to mention the food same great quality but at a fraction of the price. We ordered the mussels, lamb kabobs, and the shishito peppers all were awesome my favorite is the mussels huge portion for 8 bucks. I like to drink my shiner and at 3 bucks that's pretty cheap. But my girlfriend had the district cutie which is house infused dripping springs with ginger brew and she loved it. Truly a neighborhood gem and soon to be a hot spot once the word gets out. We will be back to check out the brunch, here the chicken and waffles are awesome.

I was at first thrilled that there was a bistro/gastro-pub in my neighborhood just three minutes from my house. So on this particular Friday night we visited for the first time with two other couples. We shared over-priced drinks and appetizers on the patio until our table inside was ready at 8:00. The cocktails would have been just so-so at half the price, but the drinks I tasted (I ordered glass of Zinfandel) were not good at full price. Run screaming from the dirty martini made with kalamata olives. For starters we ordered Shishito peppers and steamed edamame, which were very tasty, but in truth, how can you mess those up? For entrees we ordered Braised Rabbit, bison burgers, and shrimp and grits. All of the dishes were disappointing and under-seasoned. The rabbit was dry and bland (I didn't subject my palate to more than two bites), and the ricotta gnocchi that accompanied it were also under-seasoned and heavy. The only thing tasty on that plate was the crispy kale that topped the dish--in other words, the garnish. Braising meat is almost a foolproof method to impart flavor and moisture, neither if which this rabbit had. The meat on the burgers was overcooked and dry. They would have benefitted from the fried egg that we paid extra for if it hadn't been prepared to look like a rubber shingle. The shrimp and grits were supposed to be "Nawlins" style; evidently the line cooks have never enjoyed a meal in the French Quarter. They're big on flavor there--not so much at this neighborhood bistro. Our server, Brandy, was cheerful and attentive, but even that couldn't counteract the damage done by the food on our plate. Bottom line: do not be misled by the contemporary offerings on the menu; the idea of the menu was promising, but the kitchen cannot execute these dishes.

Great fresh food by really friendly people. Excellent salad, roasted soshito peppers, branzino and pork. Very reasonably priced wine.

Interesting and diverse brunch menu. My wife had the Shakshuka which is a north African dish now found everywhere. I had the street tacos with pork. Both dishes were delicious. Nice atmosphere and good attentive service.

I'd never heard of soshito peppers. I thought it's Happy hour, if they burn my mouth out I'll just have two more margaritas! They were either pan cooked or broiled with oil till they softened. No char. They are two to three inches long and green and thin. Just like serranos but next to no heat, They were nice. Just pick 'em up We ordered Moscow Mules as well. The Hummus duo and bread was a good side to the peppers. The drinks were well made and fair at Happy hour. The patio deck is inviting and the inside wood work slats are attractive. We would certainly go back when back in Austin.

I love this place! I get the wagyu steak every time along with the asparagus. I also got the ruby red trout for my second visit. I enjoyed it too but the steak is my favorite.

Everybody wears shirts, creates a very comforting atmosphere. Food was acually really good im not even kidding. Word of warning though: don't lick the pallet walls because when i did it i got splinters.

Great food and service, prefect for a date night and brunch. i love the bar area for happy hour.....

I selected District Kitchen on a whim - I wanted to get us out of Downtown Austin for dinner. It was a bit of a drive from downtown - about $20 each way via RideAustin. Was it worth it? For the most part. The service was a bit unsettled. We waited for 5 minutes or more before our server came around, and our entrees seemed a bit slow coming out. Other than that, the service was very good and the server was friendly and appropriately attentive. A small appetizer of eggplant hummus with 4 pita toast points was brought - I don't know if that is standard or was complementary due to the hiccup in service to start. The menu looked great. We both had the vegetable bisque (I can't recall exactly which vegetable!) for starters. My associate had the Rosso buck which had a good flavor and was reasonably moist, though I have had better. I had the shrimp and grits. It was very good, though I was disappointed. It didn't do anything to stand out from anyone else's shrimp and grits. But it was good, so I can't complain too much. The wine list had reasonable depth to it, with several options for wines by the glass. We didn't have dessert or other drinks. Overall, I liked this restaurant. The atmosphere was modern rustic, if there is such a thing. It was not overly noisy, and was not crowded on this Thursday evening. I had booked the appointment via Open Table only an hour earlier. My primary criteria for a restaurant is whether I would eat there again. Yes, I would eat at District Kitchen again. It wasn't an overwhelmingly fabulous experience, but the food was good, I liked the atmosphere, and the service was mostly acceptable. So I would go back - though the $20 ride might cause me to hesitate!
Nice ambiance, went down hill from the start.
Dry, under spiced pork and slooow service made for a forgettable lunch. Even the sunny side up egg was over cooked. We would not return to this restaurant
