I was with a party of 11. They sat us quickly, but that is where the good customer service ends. It took FOREVER our waiter to bring us menus and for our food to arrive. After we placed our orders, no one ever came to the table to give us an update on our meals. We motioned for our waiter several times to come our table, and he blatantly ignored us. Someone from our table finally had to get up and approach him. Several dishes were cold when they arrived to our table. When we asked the manager if our order could be comped, the manager said, "We had a lot of birthday parties and we just are really busy. Why don't you come back on a Monday or Tuesday."

We order mariquitas, they were stale and super salty. Seafood plate with rice was cold. The waitress took our order never came back to see if everything was ok. Then we had to flag her down for a refill. When she brought it, she slammed it on the table. When I say it was horrible, I think it's an understatement! Zero 0 rating!!!

Great food..paella the best!..Dayanis served us excellent service!!always come back!....great family setting.good music outside(dj)

place was clean and the food food was delicious and really good service. i forgot to get his name but he was amazing.

The food was amazing. We ordered 5 things off off the menu and it was less then $50. Very fair prices and the service was awesome. Highly recommend.

Had the ceviche, have had it many places and this was among the best, with squid, octopus, scallops and more. Fresh and homemade. Companion had grilled chicken with rice and plantains (not a seafood eater). Steady stream of regulars in the middle of a Friday afternoon. Service was attentive, place was clean, but there is nothing fancy or upscale about this place. They have an adjoining fresh fish market where all looked good and locals were shopping.

A disgusting restaurant with horrible old and poor quality food. Don't waste your money visiting this place. The breads with minuta, the salad that makes them old and withered, the poor quality fish as well as the bread and stiff. Awful

I had a fish-seafood combination plate that was sufficient for the two of us. It was made up of shrimp, oysters, clams, scallops, chunks of fish and squids, all in a bouillabaisse sauce which was just delicious! Accompany that with a glass of wine and you'll be ready to tackle the world. Nice friendly service and music atmosphere.

Was tipped off about Don C Seafood by our hotel van driver. Took a few days to a actually try it out but I’m glad we did. We all agreed it was a great tasting meal and priced fairly. Staff is great too. Off street parking. Indoor seating. heat atmosphere. 👍👍👍👍

I order the ceviche at least once a week, and never do they disappoint. I've most of the menu and it's all good. What I like about them, that's it always fresh. I ALWAYS do pickup the actual restaurant is clean and the people seem nice, but I alway opt for pick up.

Visited on 26 December at the recommendation of my brother in law and the food was decent. I love fried Red Snapper so I had one and it was not very tasty. The yellow rice is very good. The service was lacking and although there were hardly any people, the waitress did not provide a good service. Maybe some of the other items in the menu are good, mine wasn't.

Dania excellent customer service, my family is very happy with her excellent service, respectful, kind, charismatic

Came here with friends, and enjoyed excellent seafood! On menu all kind of way of cocking, grilling, frying your favorite type of fish! We loved it! Large selection of wines and beers, and other beverages too. Prices very modest. Waitress Dania is absolutely the best!

We eat often at Don Camaron (on 37 ave, across from Magic City Casino) and I have reviewed it very favorably before. The present review affirms my previous review and addresses some comments I have seen in other recent reviews. Based on our experience, the food is not only very well prepared (shrimp have always been perfectly cooked) but the service is great, the environment clean and the price extremely reasonable. For example, for lunch we had Chaufa con Camaron (fried rice with 7 good size whole shrimp) $6.00, fish ceviche and a glass of cabernet for under $25.00.

Since I only live a few miles away and had a craving for seafood I decided to give Don Camaron a try. We started with fresh raw oysters and a cream of shrimp soup, both were good, the soup was reminiscent of a bisque and quite tasty. We then enjoyed the seafood chaufa,a Peruvian seafood fried rice and the large seafood soup these too were quite satisfying. And since I believe every great meal must end on a sweet touch we shared the excellent crema catalana,a Spanish version of creme brulee. Our meal was good and killed my seafood cravings. Service was a bit spotty but in all fairness we did arrive just before closing and in fact we were the last table to leave so I'm sure staff was busy with their side work that being said, both young ladies that came to our table were cheerful and nice. We'll definitely consider Don Camaron for our next seafood meal!

We ordered food to be delivered. Just as it happened before, we were very glad with the taste and portions' size, and the prices were fine. We will order again or return anytime

I loved this place. Very nice price and wonderful service. The food was delicious and plates are great to share. The best tostones in Miami. Overall was awesome

I've visited twice and I love the food there. The servers are always nice and attentive. The ceviche mixto is delicious and so is the seafood pasta. Had a great time & will definitely stop by again !

My last visit to Don Camaron is wasn't a great experience. First, we asked for two different plates, but the waiter told us that those dishes were cooked since morning and at that time of the day wouldn't be a good option. Advised by her we had the Fried Fish and it was to greasy. When we left the place our clothes smell like grease. It is a place to visit just if you are in a hurry and you don't have anything else close. I think that Burger King, Wendy's or Subway could be a better option than this.

So, it was a typical Sunday night around 8:30 PM. A group of four, myself included decided to venture into Don Camaron for a quick dinner. We went into the restaurant, nobody greeted us, we kept walking inside, nobody greeted us, we stood on one side, not one person asked us to sit, we stood in front of the kitchen and finally someone took noticed. Were they that busy?? well... no, not really!. Two waitresses were talking right in front of us, they just decided not to aknowledge us. When they finally sat us on a dirty corner table we had to wait about 15 minutes for water to be set on the table. We had to call the waitress to come get our order, then wait an hour and a half to be served. We were missing a pair of utensils and she picked up an unused pair from the table in front of hours that was dirty from previous customers. All in all a very unconfortable and gross experience. The people seated next to us were complaining loudly because their waitress was taking forever with their check. The restaurant was not that full for so bad a service. We will definetly never go there again. No matter how cheap the food.

Busy, there is music on the patio and everyone seemed to be enjoying. There is fresh fish in the front to purchase as well. Drinks were reasonable and good .

I go very often to Don Camaron since in Hialeah there are not many options for dining out. The food is decent. The seafood is fresh and they offer prompt service! They need to be careful on the weekends due they have live Karaoke and the place can be turned into a cheap bar easily if they are not careful!

Hadn't been there in quite a while because it was to far from where I live. however was in the neighborhood and dropped by Service was fast and friendly Food was fresh and delicious Conch Fritters best I've had ( sorry Islands) for desert I had the best tres leches ( three milks) ever

Went for dinner last night. The place was packed. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. The service was OK. We will definitely be back. A Cuban seafood restaurant with some Peruvian dishes.

Never coming here again. Why? Disrespectful server and a lack of management. Whilst complaining about my father's steak and my burger taking one full hour to cook, a gentleman that usually buses tables came and brought me my food. He asked me who the steak belonged to and I dismissively asked him to place it in front of the place setting in front of me. He immediately lashed back and told me, in Spanish: "if you're not happy with your food it's not my fault so don't be like that with me". When I told him I've said nothing for him to treat me disrespectfully, he ignored me, and left. Our waitress noticed I was upset and asked me what was wrong, I told her and she took no action, but did apologize. Besides this, the food was overcooked, seafood wasn't fresh like it used to be and the crowds are UNBEARABLE.

It is a good place to eat whole Rabirrubia, fried, I advise you to warn them that they do not fry it too much. They have a fish market and you can choose the size, they serve it with two garnishes (they call it companions). The wines are a little expensive, it is preferable to drink beer, although a glass of a mediocre wine is worth almost as much as a beer. The shrimp enchilado no longer looks like it used to, they taste like fried tomato, they should go back to the usual Cuban recipe. The service is very friendly and attentive. You can park well, Recommended site.

Great service and exceptional food. The best place I have seen to have seafood at a reasonable price.

I think the enjoyment of any restaurant or attraction is predicated upon 3 factors: one's personal preferences, one's expectations, and those who accompany the "critic". That being said, I went to Miami for a last-minute lone getaway without doing much research (not like me) and plan to try just about every Peruvian restaurant here. I have been to Peru. Twice. So my expectations are pretty high. I know what good/authentic Peruvian food tastes like and wish to find the equivalent (or at least a close imitation) here in Miami. However, it's New Year's Day, so my options were limited - as many restaurants are closed - and I stumbled upon this seafood restaurant and my starving stomach begged me to just stop walking and eat. ANYWHERE. In fact, I didn't even know it was Peruvian until I started reading the menu. With that said, here are my thoughts: PROs: -I only ordered the ceviche pescado -I thought it was pretty good. Not like the ceviche in Peru, but better than many I've had in the US. The mound size was typical, the chunks and flavor were about right, though it tasted like it had been marinated in lemon instead of Peruvian lime. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it means it has to soak longer and the result is firmer fish. -there was a little toasted corn and soft corn on the plate, as well as a small chunk of sweet yam, as is the custom in Peru. - I asked for diced red pepper to make it spicier (typically, Peruvian food is not spicy), and they brought it for me. Yay! -the sangria is pretty good and packs a punch. -this restaurant specializes in seafood - the restaurant was packed with customers, many of whom seemed to be regulars -the wait staff -both the men and women -are pretty good-looking, which I noticed AFTER they started talking to me. -They play some pretty good salsa music (CDs) CONs: -I agree with the reviews that the service is not the priority of the staff at this restaurant. -I was led to the bar, where I sat for 15 minutes, waiting for someone to wait on me. -They were very busy and that could've been understandable if the waitresses weren't smirking at me every time they passed, as if to say, "Sit there, Little White Girl until we deign to serve you" -I finally asked one waitress if she could take my order, to which she replied, "EH?" very rudely as if she did not speak English. I then asked her in Spanish and suddenly, her whole attitude changed and she took my order immediately. I could be wrong, but isn't money still money no matter who spends it? -I thought maybe I was imagining it, but they ignored the only other white girl at the bar as well, and when she finally received her bill, there was a lot of discussion about the charges. -The ceviche was $12 -a little expensive for something most people would eat as a shared appetizer, but understand: Peruvian food is not cheap, so this price is about right for Peruvian food. -Even though there is a "bar", the only alcoholic selections are wine, two beers, and sangria. -I did not think the chaufa, the lomo saltado, or many of the other pictures looked very appetizing. In sum, I think they did a good job with the ceviche and I would come here again for that. However, with so many Peruvian restaurants here, I doubt I'll will. But if I did, I'd be sure to speak Spanish from the start.

Their fish with Tamarindo sauce was delicious. Also, their yellow rice and Crema Catalana were really good.

My hubby and I decided to try Don Camaron Seafood Grill, a staple on 37th Avenue for the first time on a Friday night in June. Maidelin T greeted us immediately with a smile, was very attentive throughout dinner and suggested that we try the delicious Bahama Mama dessert. For appetizer, we had the Tostones Rellenos (shrimp-stuffed plantains) and for entrees, the Sopon Marinero (large seafood soup packed with all types of fish and shellfish) and a grilled Emperor Fish with vegetables and sweet plantains. Everything was delicious and Maidelin T's smile, positive attitude and attentiveness made the entire experience grand.

There is a restaurant in front and a fish market with a few tall tables behind. I ate in the market which is comfortable for dining solo. It was at the end of a long week working hard and simply looking for was a place to have a beer outside. Even in really nice weather Florida locals seem to prefer enclosing themselves in air conditioning. When I ordered my beer I noticed cold octopus salad in the cooler. I couldn't resist. It was delicious, just he right amount of oil, tartness and crunchy. I decided to have another beer and go ahead and order a meal of fried shrimp. The delightful Larisa behind the counter chose yellow rice and fried plantanos (bananas) for my side orders. Embarrassingly I dropped my plate off my tray before I sat down and scattered food all over the floor. The manager, Osman, immediately came to my rescue and ordered a new meal for me. Thank goodness. The shrimp were delicious, light and crispy and not at all oily. The plantanos? Well, what's not to like about fried bananas touched with honey?

The fish is fresh and deliciously prepared. The prices are reasonable for most dishes. The signature dessert, the "Bahama Mama", a rum infused tres leches cake, is amazing!

Great Service, great food......Had the surf and turf.....a nice size lobster with shrimp and a good size piece of flank steak....came with a good size salad. Also had oysters on the half shell for an appetizer they were pretty good.....

Don Camarón offers seafood and a fish market, where you can take fish home. They have three locations (Miami, near the airport, Miami Lakes, and a space inside of the Marlins Stadium). Even though it is a little noisy, it is a great place to have lunch with work colleagues.

I have driven past this place for years and decided to try it. I made a reservation on Open Table and arrived on time. The staff had no idea what open table was but sat us anyway. Lobster season had just opened and we ordered the Lobster after inquiring what the market price was. The meal was OK, just OK if you know what I mean. I was shocked when the bill came and the lobster was $7 more per dish than we were quoted. The waiter acknowledged what he had quoted but said "its the computer". The manager came over and displayed limited command of English. I've lived in Miami most of my 65 years and can get by with survival Spanish - finally he cut $6 of the $7 per meal error. As we left my wife turned to me and said "Lets not come back here"

Heading to Miami IAP for our flight home via a slight diversion to look at some old aircraft at a technical school and came across this restaurant. Great service, home made lemonade and a beer I hadn't tried before (Modelo). We had the Arrozz Chaufa and Lomo Saltado both of which were excellent.

Excellent and quality a nice place and very good treatment and good quality in food and very fast and very efficient employees

Even though, it seems to be that BAD SERVICE is a pattern in the comments about this restaurant, we decided to give it a chance. What a TERRIBLE MISTAKE we made!! The comments are TRUE, the service is NOT GOOD. No bread on the tables,we had to ask for it and the waitress gave us some rancid crackers, NO REFILL OF WATER. We ordered a Cream of shrimp ,Shrimp cocktail(NO MAYONNAISE) as appetizer and Sangria, very good. The Dolphin fillet and Fish fillet with shrimp in a garlic sauce(excellent). Our CUBAN WAITRESS disappeared and just came back when we send a coworker for her. She came like in a hurry with the check(of course),the restaurant was slow, it was Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 8:00pm. The food was very good but our experience was ruined by the WORTHLESS SERVICE. THE MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE THE CUSTOMERS. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE.

We visited this restaurant for lunch. They didn't serve bread and when asked, the waitress was very rude. She couldn't wait for us to finish to bring us the tab. She placed it on the table and didn't even ask if we wanted coffee or desert. Establishment should train those young waitresses to properly serve the customers.

Great little spot to fulfill your seafood binge! Try the Conch Fritters for starters. The Marinara Soup is enough to feed two. Recommendation level: #3! GetSome!!

Our friends had recommended this restaurant for a long time, however since it’s not in an area close to home, we’ve put it off. What a mistake! Everything our friends told us is true! We had the fried calamari as an appetizer and we shared the Mar & Mar (Sea & Sea). This consisted of a lobster tail, a filet of fish, 4 shrimp and 2 sides for $39.95. It was good and we both ate well. We left full and satisfied with the meal. The ceviche appetizer looked really good, but my husband opted for the fried calamari, which was very good and crispy. Our waitress was ok. I don’t know if it was that it’s not offered but we didn’t get any bread before our meal, but like I said, our waitress was just ok. We didn’t have wine, we had sodas and they had free refills, but we needed to ask for them. Our water glasses were not automatically given and they were not refilled. Our waitress did not come once to check if everything was ok, which it is the usual custom. Was the service terrible, no, but it could have been much better. The food was great! We were very happy with the meal! They just need to work on the service. BTW, when we came in, no one greeted us at the entrance. After standing at the doorway for a couple of minutes, one of the waitresses told us we could seat anywhere. Like I said before, they need to work on their customer service. Would this discourage us from going again? Absolutely not! Don't expect luxury, but it's clean and like I've mentioned before, the food is good!

Too expensive and the ceviche was not like a ceviche. The cod as an appetizer was just bread. Won’t go back. Don’t like the ambiance. Dont waste your trip.

A wonderful place, close to MIA, to go with friends and have one last taste of Miami seafood. The food ranges from Peruvian ceviche to Malanga covered fried shrimp. The service is outstanding and the prices inside the restaurant are pretty reasonable. If you want to save a couple of dollars, sit out by the seafood market where you can have most of the same entrees at a reduced price......but remember, this is Miami and it is hot and humid. The malanga covered fried shrimps were a real surprise. Malanga is a root, not well-known to others who have not lived in or tasted Cuban/Caribbean delicacies. My Argentinean friends loved it and since that was the last meal before heading back home, they have not stopped talking about it. I sincerely recommend this place. Clean, comfortable and down to earth.

Great place to eat if you are looking for some quality seafood around the Miami Airport. Located minutes away from the car rental lots, this restaurant offers a large variety of super delicious fish and seafood with very friendly, superb service. Don't forget to try their grilled salmon that comes with a bunch of side items as well as a freshly made green salsa. We were served by a an awesome server from Hondouras by the name of Zulema who came out with great recommendations and friendly service. That Tres Leches dessert is a must try for everyone. The neighborhood is a bit rough though but then who cares when it offers great food and it's so close to the airport. Would definitely go back.

Desafortunadamente nada para escribi a la casa. Nada especial, poca variedad de mariscos para llamarlo seafood grill. Tener dos platos con pescados y agreagar unos camarones para mi no hace la diferenciacion. Unfortunately nothing to write home about. Nothing special, little variety to call it seafood grill. To have twoo fish dishes and add a few shrimps to me does not make a big differentiator.

Two highlights to share from my experience 1. We were hungry and did not have much time to waste. This is the only reason we stayed after seeing a BIG cockroach roaming around the tables. 2. I ordered the menu special (fried fish sandwich & fries) for $7.99 with a drink included. However, I only wanted water, but Gloria, the waitress, told me the drink was included in my order, and I should have a drink, so I chose a drink even if I did not want it because she made me feel like I had to. When it was time to pay, the drink was charged separately ($4.50), we asked Gloria about it, but her answer did not make sense. The offer is misleading, the drink is NOT included in the order and basically, you are forced to pay for a drink if you want to be served even if you don't want it. The food was good, but the cockroach image did not leave my head as I was having my meal. The value of the food is decent, but the sneakiness they operate under is not appreciated. I don't recommend this place, especially considering the large number of options you have.

The place is rustic nothing fancy or formal but the food is like homemade seafood cuban style, try the tostones rellenos ,wich is fried plantains filled with shrimps in a delicious red sauce also you can ask for changes in an specific plate and they do it for you.

We got take out and absolutely LOVED the food. It is worth the price as they give sizable portions of high quality seafood. I would love to eat here again!

I always drive by this place but never had the incline to go inside and try it out, that's until some friends from work kept raving about this place and telling me how good the food was here. So finally I had a very good excuse. A friend of mines was celebrating his birthday so what better way to try out the food here. I must say it was delicious, we ordered the Paella and it was enough for us to share, we also had the Fish Tacos as an appetizer and they were excellent. this place is always packed, but they have plenty of available parking on premises. Also there's a small fish market located on the side of the restaurant with a wide variety and selection. we waited for less than 5 min for a table and it was at the rush of lunch hour the service staff is very friendly and welcoming. I will be back for sure.

Great place and service, excellent food, affordable prices. Yes, I would recommend anyone to go there.

We still talk about our dinner. Wish we could go back. Fresh fish with a Cuban flare. They have a fresh fish market right on the premises. The black beans were excellent. Even our picky eater enjoyed his dinner. I would definitely go back. The only reason the service was a 4 star our waitress who was very efficient spoke very little English. We were unable to get her to describe some of the dishes in more detail. They do have an outside porch area for dining (see picture) also air conditioned indoor seating. It's right across the street from the dog racing track.

One of the best seafood combined with steak that I have already had. All staff was really kind and polite in all manners. Very clean and good place to be. Price was really affordable compared to others seafood places with such quality. Highly recommend this place if you are around and want a very good food with Latin taste!+++++

My family ate here while staying at the Embassy Suites Miami airport. The restaurant is casual, but authentic with servers that spoke very little English. The menus were primarily in Spanish, but had English subtitles. The food quality was very good and the menu was diverse. I had the swordfish fillet and my wife ordered what turned out to be a massive bowl of seafood chowder. Both of us enjoyed the flavors of our choices. A good choice for good food and a culturally diverse experience.

We tried this restaurant for a Sunday lunch (the one located close to MIA Airport). Place was a little dirty, food and napkins on the floor. Food was average, greasy and expensive (actually I have eaten better seafood at home). Waitress was really nice and attentive. First and last experience, don't think it's worth a second try.

As tourists, we were just looking for a little something different. We are no experts on Cuban food by far, but we agree that this has to be one of the best sit-down locations in Miami. The seafood is wonderful, the fajitas are a winner hands down, and the Argentinian steak dish was to die for. The atmosphere is very casual and care free. I suggest ending the meal with a flan of some sort, they have multiple varieties that will complete your meal and leave you satisfied.

Very casual place with an older crowd out in the dining area and some younger folks in the bar. I ordered the swordfish, sweet plantains and yellow rice. Everything was cooked to my liking and very favorable.

Go in. Just go ahead and go in. We have passed this place for years and finally went in. We have ourselves to blame for all the time we missed. The atmosphere is not the draw. The food is worth the risk. The prices are consistent with a much finer decor but the food is better. I had a Caesar salad and shrimp ceviche with Ali Amarillo sauce - ample, spicy and delicious was a beautiful presentation. My companion had the salmon with cilantro sauce. It was cooked perfectly and topped with 4 shrimp. It came with 2 generous sides. We watched plates of fresh raw oysters, bowls heaped with traditional ceviche and steaming pots of seafood soup. It ranks very high in the "worth what paid for" column.

I want to love this place, however the service is never good. The food is good, the fish is fresh and the price is relatively good for Miami. We have been when it's busy, when it is slow.. the service is just always a little lacking in attentive servers and the kitchen seems to be slow. On the other hand, I love the cb fish tacos! That's why I go there. If I am feeling patient I will go just for those. The snapper and dolphin are always good.

I has grouper entree with yellow rice and sweet plantain, my friend had salmon, mash potatoes and tostones. We also ate for appetizer fritura de bacalao (fish fritters). We both got sick.

Wanted some good seafood and this is the place we found. I ordered the Lobster/Steak/Shrimp combination with white rice. It was all seasoned well and very good. The lobster tail was a little dry but couldn't complain. The service was good and the menu is in english and spanish. Portions are good size but not overwhelming. I did end up taking my steak and rice home but it was very good warmed the next day. We arrived during happy hour and the drinks are 2 for 1. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is nice.

try the Cerviche it is good The fish is fresh but have it grilled or broiled - Cuban restaurants are not known for their fish. good live music out side - sit inside - too loud

On our trip to Miami, we were looking for a good seafood place where the locals go. This place was suggested to us. The place does not look like much but it is clean inside. We had the conch fritters for appetizer and they were delicious. Our main dishes were seafood dishes with pasta in one and rice the other. I will say the taste was delicious but both dishes were long on the starch and light on the seafood.

I was there several times in Lunch hour, but yesterday was easy for me enter for dinner...Never again. Server does not understand any thing...We ask to server for a fresh fish, She say Grouper and Snapper...My husband ask for Grouper, they bring other kind of frozen fish, we never see something like that in a Seafood Restaurant.. ask for mash potatoes, she say no, is come with fries...I tell we pay for it, and she never smile ,very bad character. Lunch time ,food is better and servers more nice.

I placed an order and I was very surprised when I ordered a bowl of shrimp with rice and beans and I had to specify that I wanted shrimp, then I found the trick. There is an advertised price for a small bowl of shrimp with white rice and black beans ($7.95) but that is just the small bowl rice and beans price, when you adds shrimp the website adds $4.95 to the total. Why don't specify the real price up front? This issue on the website will create a reduction in customers, as I am sure people will not be pleased with the trick, as I am not. Give me upfront the correct price but if I order a dish with shrimp, there is no sense in adding shrimp to it. The food was food, it had good taste but I am not thinking to order again from here unless they fix the website with the right prices. Another point, when ordering online, careful about the tip, because the first tip that shows is like a 25%, so unless you really look at what you are seeing, you may click to give the wrong tip.

This is a spot to have fish and some starters like ceviche, calamari, couch... We went for dinner and started with a ceviche (good and decent portion) and fish croquetas (decent and well priced 5 for $5). For main we had the salmon with the coriander sauce ( surprisingly good fish) and Lomo Salteado ( nothing special and meat was hard). For desert we had 3 leches, not bad. The service was quite cold but got all the orders correctly! The place has some parking spots but is short when the place is full.

Our concierge recommended this place and it was within distance of using the hotel shuttle. The service is friendly and attentive, and my Spanglish definitely came in handy. They let us change the channel to watch the Sunday night football game. The waitress patiently explained the menu and suggested a couple dishes. I went safe with fried shrimp and my husband chose snapper and shrimp with cilantro sauce. Both meals were good but the cilantro sauce was a little rich. Coming from an international trip, it felt good to be back in the States with friendly service.

Fresh, delicious seafood with good service. Where locals eat. Across from Magic City Casino. Prices are very reasonable.

Excelent service with huge dishes, some of then for share... the price is fair and the food very fresa, they also have a fresh fish market arround the córner. Very convinience.

We were staying at an airport hotel and wanted to go somewhere else to eat. Don Camaron looked like a nice seafood place with decent prices, which it was. Nothing extremely special, food tasted good and service was ok. Splitting the bill to individuals was not a problem. I liked the place. There were lot of locals and they showed soccer on the televisions.

After eating a so-so food I asked for the check. When the waiter came back with the change, the coins change was missing; and the waiter said that they always keep the coins.... After a very rude answer I decided NEVER TO COME BACK TO THIS PLACE.

We went for an appetizer and ask for ceviche, was delicius, "minuta divine, and Dolphin sadwich very good"..Beer very cool.Service excellent.

Nice place with typical seafood dishes very well prepared in the Miami style. A very well balanced menu with options for all tastes.

Suggested spot from near by cigar store. Menu 95% Spanish but understandable. I had the swordfish and was the best I've had in a long time. Conch fritters were very good and main dish came with yellow rice and plaintains. Would be worth returning next time in the area.

great restaurant, great experience, try the tropical fillet, its amazing. fish was fresh, seasoning was good. extensive menu selection, some fantastic conch fritters.

This is a casual restaurant in the heart of Miami. Every time we go there is a waiting time. We ordered the raw oysters, oh my, they are absolutely the best and fresh. They also have the ceviche, three types. I usually ordered the shrimp of the fish one, yummy. They also have fried calamari, seafood rice, fried fish, sandwiches, etc. Best seafood place in the area and the prices are great.

Lively atmosphere. A little bit loud but very festive. Busy even late. Food was fresh and very good. The Dominican beer was good. I recommend it. Service was very good. Dine in or take out. Not expensive

I had a really good experience with the service here however I was a little disappointed with the food. I ordered oysters to start which were not served with crackers like any other time I've ordered them. They were okay but not amazing. The pasta I ordered was good but the only reason I ordered it was for the scallops which were way under cooked. I would not probably not return to this restaurant but again it wasn't a horrible experience just a little disappointing.

I love this place when I am in the mood for a good mahi mahi (dolphin in Florida) fish sandwich or a blackened version...

We loved this restaurant and will come again. Homemade lemonade was great and the child’s plates were wonderful! All 4 entrees were very good. Feels like a family restaurant.

The title sums it up. I had grouper with yellow rice and sweet plantains, my wife had shrimp alfredo and clam chowder. Service was friendly, even though we were the only customers in this fairly crowded restaurant speaking English. Everything was absolutely wonderful and we will eat there again.

Mainly a place where locals visit for seafood. Reasonably priced. You can order only if you can communicate with your waitress who does not speak one word of English. Still, fresh fish, cold beer, local atmosphere, close to the airport.

The restaurant is easy to find. Very nice place, clean , excellent service(Miguel was very helpful). Food is great, reasonable prices, parking and also a fishmarket in the back. I will Definitely go back.

We were hesitant what we will find and eat and we were all very happy with the food and service.. We had a whole Pargo fried fish. It was very fresh and it was delicious ... For appetizers we had fried Bacalao croquet sand Malanga crocquets which were absolutely great. .. Great meal overall. Our waitress was super sweet and accommodating .. The place ( restaurant ) itself was OK fairly clean, no table covers but very clean tables. Deffinetlyb worth going back

It was my first time to visit this restaurant, but I felt great, I love what it, the food was delicious, I had the salmon whit some vegetables.

Seafood market and restaurant offer quality seafood in a no frills setting. Huge portions. Great Value. Good service.

Took my mom to her favorite seafood place in her neighborhood. Great seafood! Delicious entrees’ Amazing staff!

Relaxed atmosphere and great food! There's a fishmarket in the back in case you want to take something home. The ceviche is fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable.

We had a late lunch last Sunday. Extremely surprised at the delicious meal we had. Shrimp ceviche was perfect, Salmon with cilantro and shrimp was Very tasty. The food's temperature was perfect. Server was very nice and the manager as well. We dine out often and are looking forward to returning to Don Camaron soon

Stopped here for lunch on a recent visit to Miami. Poor service with the basics, water, napkins utensils. Took 30 minutes to get water. Food ok. Could be better

Trivial! Excellent food, variety, plentiful and at a good price. There is an option to choose fresh fish on display.

Seafood is very good at really good prices. Everyday specials and several executives menus to select. Service is friendly. They have a good seviche. Their Tropical Fish is very good.

Enjoyed the fish soup. Didn't care for the salad, just basic iceburg, etc. Service was good.

Have been a number of times and the seafood is always fresh. The market is clean and smells fresh, which is a very good sign. The staff is friendly and they'll clean and/or cook the seafood however you want it. The fresh seafood prices are quite reasonable. There's also a restaurant although the menu is pretty basic. Note: parking is on street but free. However, it can be a challenge when it gets busy.

Excellent atmosphere with delicious food! Super friendly, professional staff. I had the chicharron de pescado appetizer and the jalea mixta entree. Highly recommended!

I visited during a business trip in January 2013. The service was prompt, and the food was very good. Most of the menu items include seafood, but there are some dishes that are beef and chicken. I would certainly return to this restaurant!

Don Camaron is a seafood restaurant with attached fish market. Diners can eat at counters in the fish market or wooden tables in the restaurant. The fish/shellfish/prawns in the market are very fresh and the restaurant cooks know well how to cook fish. The gastronomy is Chilean/Carribean with a few standards like New England Clam Chowder thrown in. The Chilean Ceviche is outstanding as are the shrimps malanga and chaufa. All portions are very generous and inexpensive. The overall appearance of the inside is clean and welcoming and the staff and clientele friendly. Well worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood of Magic City Casino.

The atmosphere was family style. Casual dress and group conversations. Wait staff friendly, patient and efficient. Best calamari I've ever tasted. Had a seafood rice dish with a mixture of shrimp, calamari, fish, crab claw and fried rice. Excellent flavor. With good company and a few beers - fun was had by all. Absolutely worth every dollar!

Well I am not a seafood or fish person, so I can't be a true judge of the food, except for what I had which is a "Non Fish Taste" like fish, which was good. The service was not that good, the servers were all sitting around joking, and didn't care about the customers. Definitely needs management improvement.

A fish restaurant - do not expect fancy; but, why does it have to be smelly and unpleasant? The smell grabs you as soon as you get off the car in the parking lot and it lingers in your nose and clothes hours after you leave the restaurant. The seats in the booths are plain wood-no cushions-uncomfortable. There is stuff hanging everywhere in total disarray. Understood, a fish restaurant/market is not expected to be a palace; but, at least keep it neat within the nautical theme. The food is not calling me back, the place is not pleasant and the prices are no bargain either. There is no going back for me.

Food was really good at a very reasonable price, we got there around 7 and the place was kind of full. Make sure and try the ceviche, the Mar y Tierra was big enough for two people.

We recently visited this place, which has another location on Hialeah Gardens, and had the 'Arroz Chaufa', a fried rice with a generous portion of shrimp and vegetables served with plantains. My friend had the Fish Tacos made of Raw Ceviche, which she loved. Recommend this place for lunch and dinner, any time!

I was near the airport and wanted some dinner that was good but now expensive. The Don Camaron Seafood Grill worked out very well. Since I was single I sat at the counter and watched sports on their TV. The Seafood Rigatoni was very tasty and I even took some as takeaway since I couldn't finish the large portion.

Don Camaron sea food restaurant A complete Scam. Don Camaron is promoting false advertisement. The Scam promotes $20 dollars for 1 appetizer, 2 entries and 1 desert. When we get there we show the add and clain for it as soon as we got seated. The waitres show us the menu and even suggest the entries. She also suggested the apetizer that comes with the offer plus the desert. Guess what, she came back with $60 dollars bill and she stated that the advertisement was for another menu that she never show us. We complaint with the manager but he also plays the same game with us and shows us another special menu for the first time, only 2 croquetes, 1 pasta and 2 eggs. He never give us credit but excuses and insist we have to pay the amount, mocking on us. We use cupons at Rubi Tuesdays and Tony Romas, they always honor their advertisements. Don Camaron sea food restaurant is a complete Scam.

TO ALL BE AWARE..!!! Hello, I want to share a negative experience I had last week on 01/27/2023 while having lunch at "Don Camaron seafood restaurant" located in 9491 NW 77th Ct Hialeah Gardens, Fl 33016. I went for lunch and ordered a Sopon Marinero which cost $18.99. The waitress then asked me if I would like to add a lobster tail to the Sopon and it would be $31.95. After giving a thought I said: "ok go ahead". To me it sounds a little expense to have a Sopon Marinero for $32.00 but I accepted because I want it to have it. But when I got the bill, it was for $55.02. I got really worried and when asked the waitress why so much she said the lobster tail was $31.95 in addition of the $18.99 price of the Sopon. I got really upset for her tricky and deceit suggestion but I paid it so I could leave right away and go back to work. I have never paid so much money for a soup in any other place I had it before. I think is a rip off charging someone that amount of money. But worse is that She tricked me by the way she sounds like it was that by adding the tail it would be $31.95 like an extra added to the meal but that amount of money for the simple naked tail is a scam. I would never go back to that place again.

We ate Friday lunch The waitress was not pleasant Pay attention to your bill $15 bill on top of our bill Without our agreement Not kind.

In the back of this restaurant there is a small fish market where they sell uncooked seafood as well as some fried fish and filet and other seafood. I like the Pan con Minuta very much. It is nice and not that expensive.

I had purchased a groupon for this place and ended up being that it was actually for the location at Hialeah Gardens, so they did not honor the groupon - understood. We went here for dinner to try this place for the first time. The first impression was awkward: There is no one to greet you at the door so we werent sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves and if so, what section. A waitress from the back of the room signaled to us to "sit anywhere we liked". Service was extremely slow. The food was not timed staged correctly. My friend's entree came out first, then my salad, and then the remaining entrees. We sat there with a plate of ceviche for at least half an hour waiting for the other food to arrive. I must admit that the taste of the food was very good. The ceviche was very well made and my pasta dish was plentyful and tasty. My other friend ordered the fish sandwich - not recommended, very bland and flaky, makes for a horrible sandwhich and messy. The waitress was sweet with a nice personality, but was not very attentive. I had to ask for a refill and so did my friend. You would think once you're asked for something you might as well go ahead and see if the rest of the table was in need of anything else - nope, we had to ask for every detail so it was bare minimum service. The bathrooms were clean, the atmosphere was good and people seemed to enjoy being there. The place was packed (saturday night). In conclusion, based on the atmosphere and taste of food, it deserves a second try, but I would not consider going there without the coupon since it is a bit pricey and the service was not the best.

Ate with a friend who loves this place. We had lunch in the fish market around back and the food was excellent. I had chicken and rice with plantains and my friend had the seafood soup. You’ll need to know Spanish if want service as they speak very little English. They also sell fresh fish to take home.

After driving by for years and years, we decided to give this place a try and honestly I wish we hadn’t. The service was good and the waiter nice, so I was very excited about the food. We ordered oysters as an appetizer and I (someone who order oysters all the time!) didn’t particularly like them, later the shrimp pasta we had as a main course was extremely oily, to the point where I barely ate it....oh! the 2 beers we had were not even that cold. The place is not so cheap either, so I will probably not give it another try. What a shame!

Nice clean Restaurant with a good flare ;Food offers are pretty good and priced okay;Though wish that being more Caribbean “ offering “ style besides Cuban ; Should add more from the other neighbors Islands like Puerto Rican seafood or even Jamaican style; The Peruvian and Pasta dishes seems odd in the menu, regardless that are the trend in most places “But that what cause the lost identity & uniqueness of venues this days. Staff are very nice and composed of hot Beautiful young Women, a plus in Miami ( No one care for old cranky waitresses any more). The Sopa de Cherna= Grouper Soup is a Levanta Muerto after a hangover and it is believed that it’s good as Aphrodisiac for both sex or convalescing people as well. Definitely a nice place to calm your seafood craving and amuse your sight. Que Linda que estan las Chicas Coño!.

I took my girlfriend to Miami for her birthday. Our hotel recommended Don Camaron for her birthday dinner. The food and service was outstanding. Everyone spoke Spanish but that was cool because they understood exactly what we wanted. The Sangria was the best I’ve had in fifteen years. Order an entire pitcher!

We visited the restaurant on December 16, 2010 during a family trip to Miami, Florida. A family member found out about this restaurant and I decided to venture out and try out the restaurant. We went around 3 PM for a very late lunch/early dinner. We were immediately seated and there was a variety to choose from in addition to seafood. I had the 10 oz Churrasco steak that came with a side of rice. The other family member ordered the Frituras de Bacalao (fish fritters) and Sopa de Pescado con Arroz (fish with rice soup). The food arrived quickly and was delicious! Before leaving, I decided to try out their flan de leche (milk flan) and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed bit of it, it was rich and not too sweet, a wonderful way to complete my meal! Our server Flora Z. was very nice. Before gratuity and taxes, the subtotal was under $39. This place is definitely worth a visit for seafood lovers (they also have some non-seafood options too). I hope to visit this restaurant the next time I visit Miami!

Stayed the night before cruise. A locals gem. There was a language barrier which was perfect and made our night more fun. Our waitress was great and the staff was super friendly, excellent food and food came out exactly as ordered. Best Ceviche I’ve ever had!

I read a lot of reviews on this place. It’s always amazing to me how harsh people can be. Don Camarons was recommended to me by a complete stranger. He said it was always really good.... my experience was no different. There is somewhat of a language barrier but we worked through it. The service was good and the food was delicious and my beer was cold. I will definitely come back. And if you are a patient English speaking person... I think you will enjoy it as well.

Fresh Seafood at very reasonable prices.Directly across from the Magic City Casino large menu heavy on shrimp and ceviche.Market takeout also available. Not bad,but I've had better.

The restaurant is located accords across "Magic City Casino" and conveniently in Central Miami. The atmosphere is casual and the staff is friendly and the service is also casual. The most important characteristic of this restaurant is that seafood is fresh seems in a variety of dishes. The fish soup has chunks of fish, broth and rice. A low budget dish is the minuta sandwich which is a meal by itself.

When in Miami, indulge in seafood is my motto. This place has one of best best seafood that I tasted during my vacation to Miami. I got the tilapia, they asked me if I wanted it grilled or fried, even though I wanted the healthy option, I went with fried. And maaan, did I make the right decision. Very lightly battered tilapia fried to perfection, just loved it. I also had their mojito, very good mojito that I had in a while. We ended with a rum cake dessert, also so good, perfect sweetness, delicious. Must try place while in Miami

Typical Peruvian ceviche. Fresh and tasty!! The waiter was nice and helpful with our order. It seemed like any typical seafood restaurant.

This is a fun family style restaurant, the staff and most guests are Latinos and very friendly. The food is fabulous, the fish as fresh as can be and the side dishes delicious, the cilantro sauce with the salmon was excellent, the ceviche, the shrimp the filet perfectly cooked and fresh. The fresh lemonade was perfect, they have a little sushi bar, from other guest dishes ane mine everything looked very good and well prepared and presented. The restaurant is clean, service attentive and prompt. Price is in the upper range but worth it for this quality. Restaurant is roughly 3 miles from Miami airport and accroos from Miami Casino. Thanks will be back

Two coworkers and I had the good fortune of choosing this place to meet. I had the shrimp in a white wine and cheese sauce, suggested by my waitress. Oh my gosh this stuff was amazing! We also had the fried calamari served with a tarter sauce. Some of the best calamari I've ever had. My coworker had a burger it looked very good and he said it was good. I felt horrible that my other coworker wasn't able to eat, because he was fasting. The staff were all extremely friendly, had the pleasure of meeting the owner who is very passionate about what he does, and takes great pride in providing a top notch product, and first class service. The second location in Miami Gardens is closer to my office, and I look forward to taking other coworkers to that location.

The place has a latin key west atmosphere. They do not take reservation..,o good for Sunday, even though wait was not too long. Good was good including the croquetas de bacalao and their famous tres leches. Good selection of beers. Place was packed and service was stretched but okay. I will be back.

We went with friends for seafood and enjoyed the food. Had the surf and turf plate for 2 and it was delicious, 8 oz lobster tail with 8 oz skirt steak with shrimp skewer, cooked to perfection. Service was good, friendly and fast. The only thing we didn’t like was the temperature in the restaurant, the AC was too high to our taste, considering the evening was cool outside... would recommend to any seafood lover!

If you don't mind waiting on your.food and the food is worth the wait but still there was a wait here. The food was awesome! One in our group said its the best meal she ever had in her life! She couldn't eat it all and shared it with a homeless man. He was happy! This place is a little.pricier for lunch. We sat outside it was nice. We never went inside We saw this place when we were leaving walmart.

Ceviche was sweet instead of citric. Mixed ceviche had fish only. What happened to shrimps, squids, etc.?

We decided to try this place because it seemed to always be full. My first comment - service is lacking however, once they realized we were being ignored. They tried hard to compensate. The shrimp seviche was very good and enough to share. The shrimp asopado was out of this world. I will be back.
Restaurant
Never put cold food in someone's table , that restaurant is the worst Ever , what can I say? the boiled vegetables were raw , how is that possible?? You tell me Don Camaron ???, Garlic Shrimp with no garlic ???? Served in a bowl full of grease, and on top of everything 30 min waiting omg , I wish I can give you 0 star but I can't. I had never write a bad review of anything but this made me loss my patience . And they didn't even said sorry . I don't blame the waitress but she is the face of that restaurant and to finish this horrible , horrible experience I barely touched the food and returned the plate and they charged me , shame on you .. a restaurant giving that bad service will be close soon .
