Gabriela is our favorite hostess. She knows me by name and made me feel very welcome. I had the rib eye tacos. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to my specs.

I have coming to Don Julio’s for the past 2 years. We have celebrated birthdays, ladies night out and family quality times. I must say the service it’s excellent. The food is delicious. Today, Daisy was our waitress and she was amazing. Always making sure we were ok and very friendly. The music and atmosphere at Don Julio’s is inviting to fun and good time. Overall I’m very please to say this restaurant has the 5 stars and beon. The owners are very down to earth couple very friendly and always very attentive. Definitely will keep coming back.

Great food and the service was awesome as well. Gabby was very attentive and nice. I had a pick 3 combo and the quesadilla was my favorite part.

when it comes to Mexican food, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Food taste great - you can really tell it’s made of fresh ingredients. Flavored and seasoned just right. At reasonable prices too!

Just stop by to eat late lunch with my friend! First time here and Maria Mendoza took care of us at the bar. She’s the best! We ask her about the food and drinks options and she recommend the best!!!Her drinks were very good too!!!

Food was amazing as always. Atmosphere is stellar. You can’t go wrong with this restaurant. Tonight service was four out of five instead of five out of five. There were a couple errors on our order but server did everything to make it right.

Joseph was very welcoming and professional while waiting on my husband and myself. He offered many different beverages and meals and dips for our chips. He is very friendly with a great smile. We enjoyed all of the food we ordered and will be back. Thank you for a great restaurant to visit. The only complaint would be that the music was a little loud to hear properly.

Andrea was our server at the Chickasaw location. The food was delicious and the service was fast. In and out in 30 minutes!

My question is: Why the staff at this restaurant is so rude? Every time I go there I was very disappointed with the attendance. This time I asked for some extra chips for my guacamole and was 9:45pm and the waitress said that they didn’t have anymore because the kitchen closed at 10pm and the machine was cleaned (15 minutes before???) In my opinion if the closed hour is 10pm this is not for the staff this is for the clients, once I’m consuming the staff needs to inform about the time the kitchen closes. The other point, by the time my friends was finishing their food the waitress was mad, doing a bad face for us, and she was look like think “why you guys don’t get way from here”. I’m seriously think about not go there anymore.

We ate at the restaurant in Waterford Lakes. The atmosphere was nice but the food and drinks were just ok and definitely overpriced! Drink was $18 and maybe 1 shot of tequila. The carnitas bowl and chicken bowl were 3/4 rice and beans. Ok flavor but nothing special. Carnitas were cold. I’d chose La Fiesta over this 100%!! We won’t be back!

My wife and I went to eat there and our experience was horrific. First off do know that if something happens to you there they have shady ways on avoiding on anything being their fault. Server poured hot steak juice all over my wife’s lap and suddenly all servers that were there were members of management. When we attempted to get an incident report they stated emergency responders are the ones who do that. Environment is awful. Loud regatón music in a Mexican style restaurant. Food over seasoned. Newbie servers that have zero practice and are dropping plates and cups all the time.

Don Julios Chickasaw has the best food! And it has a vibe that everyone enjoy!! And Héctor is the best waiter I’ve seen in that Restaurant

I went to Don Julio for a friend's birthday party. We had a large group of family and friends. The staff were friendly and the service was good. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. It has an upscale atmosphere and menu. The menu has a good selection of items both traditional and some creative. One in our group enjoyed a fusion dish of carne asada in a ramen bowl. I had the carne asada tacos. They were very good. The seasoning was good and the beef was tender in the tacos. They came with lime wedges and salsa as well as refried beans and rice. The food was very good and I enjoyed it. I can recommend Don Julio.

I have been going to this location for a few years and the food is amazing! They have expanded in the recent months and you cannot go wrong, met the owner several times. Impressed!

This was our 2nd visit to Don Julio’s. Always crowded with locals and families. The food is excellent such as your “queso fundido w/ chorizo”, pork carnitas, tacos al pastor, chiles rellenos, Skinny Margaritas(the best!) Only drawback is that they don’t take reservations and when crowded the service can be slow and sloppy. But the food is good!

Great place for a loud night out in Orlando. I went with my husband on a Friday night and they had singers and a classic and new hits playlist. I would recommend this place. The food was okay as well as the drinks. There was a long wait and its definitely for the vibe of the place.

This restaurant just had a makeover and the new modern look looks great! No doubt, this is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. It’s always packed and it’s not uncommon to have a long wait. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors is quite loud. Seems to be a popular place to celebrate. Their margaritas are a cause for celebration. A+ for a strong, flavorful drink. They have so many variations to try. Every time we’ve been in nearly every table has some of these giant drinks in an array of colors and flavors. Food and service have been consistently good over many visits. The food is fresh and not greasy. I think the price is very reasonable and they have lunch specials all week from 11am-2pm. There are also specials during the week like $3 Margarita Monday, $2 Taco & $2 Tequila Tuesday, Imported draft beer $2 Wednesday, Mariachi band after 7pm on Thursday, live DJ Friday and live DJ & Band on Saturday after 7pm. The staff is amazing and moves quickly. This is a very well managed restaurant. So excited to hear they will be opening new locations around Orlando soon!

I like this place. We have enjoyed going here for both lunch and dinner. I have reviewed in the past, and management issues have improved. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone down hill. My plate was oily and my partner food was cold. I spoke to the manager and she was apologetic and remade. The next attempt was not much better. Again she apologized and told us they had new kitchen cooks. I warn all to think about going until the new staff is trained and up to par.

Our server was very attentive, the atmosphere lively, and our food was delicious. Especially the house guacamole! Yum!!! My daughter and I split the steak fajitas which was tasty and more than enough food. My other girls got the chicken tortilla soup and the Don Julio Bowl which both got devoured. I come back here everytime I’m in the area.

We visited here for lunch this past Thursday and decided to sit outside to enjoy the weather and our meals. This restaurant is located in a strip mall and can easily overlooked if you don't know it's there. There is some minor renovations going on but not disrupting. We ordered a house margarita, and two meals off the lunch menu. Our server was great. We got our chips and salsa along with our drinks. Chips were warm and good and then we received our meals. Good taste, portions and price. This is our second time here and really enjoyed it. Great place for meals with a full service bar to sit at. They have a Mariachi band there on certain nights for entertainment so check their schedule. Lots of parking in strip mall lot. Will be back.

Went here on a Friday night and waited and hour for a table.  It was extremely loud as there was a live DJ and hard to talk and hear.  Yet I give this place 5 stars? That is because this is some of the best Mexican food I've had ever.  The guacamole is superb.  My wife and I split the Original Molcajete Doña Pepa and by split it we mean we split it 3 times!  Yes we got 6 meals off of this and it was amazing.  I would highly recommend this place though maybe not on a Friday night.

We stumbled upon this place. The service was excellent. Usually Mexican food leaves you feeling too full. We had the shrimp bowl. Black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, little bit of corn. I skipped the rice, plenty of grilled shrimp. Fresh not heavy. Really cold beer on draft.

4 of us went to Don Julio's last night. It is a popular restaurant for us and we have been many times. We were a few of the last customers, my husband had to go to the restroom before we left and he was refused access because they were closing and cleaning. He asked several times and stated he had to pee! He was refused again and had to go into the parking lot and pee against a tree. IS THIS HOW YOU TREAT LOYAL CUSTOMERS? It will be a long time before we go back here. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

We went for dinner and lunch both meals were very good, arrived quickly and well plated. And they tasted good. They do like cilantro at this restaurant so if you are one of those people who get the soap taste from cilantro. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. Otherwise very nice place.

Upon walking in the restaurant, it had a high-end apeal with a fast-food approach. I was escorted to the bar area where I waited patiently to be served. Only for that patience to be tested. They made a strong drink, which I'm sure everyone appreciates. Unfortunately my complimentary chips and salsa arrived after my entree had already made its way to the table. The food was good, nothing to rave about, but the service was so substandard I think that's really what killed the experience for me. It took forever before I was acknowledged by staff just for a cocktail, things never really improved from that point. I would say this restaurant is at least worth a second try, but remember patience is key with this one.

Raquel was very sweet and helpful. The service overall is excellent! The food is really good you can also tell the food is homemade. The restaurant is set beautifully and has so much personality to it! The price is really good to pricey for authentic Mexican food! 10/10 recommend!

My wife and I were in Orlando for our granddaughter's soccer tournament and tried out this restaurant for an early dinner. It was about 3:30pm and the restaurant was already busy so that was a good sign. We ordered a pitcher of Margarita (good deal - got several drinks each out of it and tasty) and enjoyed some chips and salsa while looking over the extensive menu. I settled the Tamales Bandera with chicken that had three different sauces and was tasty. It also came with rice and beans (good). My wife ordered the Quesadilla Don Julio with chicken that my wife enjoyed. We also ordered street corn and guacamole appetizers. We enjoyed the street corn. We never received the guacamole and had to ask to have removed off the bill. Overall, the service was pretty good considering how busy it was and the food was tasty and a good value for the price.

Was the Mexican Food we have had in a very long time. Our waitress was Lupita and she was great and very attentive. We ordered a guacamole appetizer and she prepared it right off the avocado care in front of us. Wonderful Guacamole!!!!! Everyone had something different. I had the choose 3 for $11.00 from a list of which I got 2 tacos and 1 chile relleno. Was too much food so I should have only picked 2 but it was soooo good. Prices were very reasonable and the food was excellent. Lots of Latinos eating there so you know it's a popular place. Of course Latino music was playing so made us feel we were in Mexico. Would highly recommend this place if you're coming to Orlando and want to have a reasonably priced Mexican Food Meal. You will not be sorry you came.

I went to DJ with a couple of friends and we loved our experience there! Service was excellent and our server Gabriela gave us such great suggestions for appetizers and main dishes! Food was great and very flavorful. Music and atmosphere outstanding! We are definitely coming back! P.s. Gabriela also mentioned us the party they are planning for 5 de Mayo!! so, we are planning to attend such amazing celebration.

Hands down a great experience. Food was delicious and staff were prompt and attentive. Highly recommended the ribeye enchiladas and chili renello.

For a new location the staff did very well. Drink specials worth the time and selections were excellent. Need more spice in cheese dip, although salsa made some difference. Staff and kitchen worked to make gluten-free selections worth asking for. All selections served hot and visually appealing.

My wife and I had a wonderful lunch at Don Julio’s. We happened upon the place while basically lost and looking for a restaurant. you While the food was excellent, it was the service and staff that bumped the rating up to five stars. The restaurant was crowded but the server made us feel like we belonged, almost like family. Thank you for an exceptional experience!

Our waitress Samantha was great. She was attentive and came to our table often. The environment was nice and a great ambience!

Javier did a wonder job with taking care of us!!! This was my first time and his recommendations were superb!! In the end, Javier got me to spend over $120. Just by myself. I am a bartender and when I go out I like when the person taking care recommends things on the menu. Thanks again Javier!!! I am coming back with my girlfriend next time!!!!

I'm visiting Orlando as a tourist with my family, we are a group of 12. I called to this restaurant from Universal to reserve a table. They told me they couldn't reserve, but they would write my name down and when I arrive I would have the next table available. They put my name for 7:3] on, not since they were clear there was no reservation I didn't call them to tell them we were delay. We got to the restaurant at 7:45. When we told the guy in the front my name he said we were late in our reservation and now we would have to wait. Even than in PR you have 15 minutes before they cancel your reservation, al that moment I was under the impression that there was no reservation, so I said "ok, I'll wait", mostly bc he did that the next table was ours. No way. People kept leaving and they kept accommodating other people that arrived after us. After 45 minutes and after the Manager came to confirm that we were 12, he never came back. With my nephew with with a low sugar situation, we had to leave and go to another restaurant. I could have appreciate that the manager tell me from the moment I arrived that he couldn't give me a table and that way I would move to another restaurant right away, because my nephew has diabetes type 2 and the time we had to wait was very crucial for him. The manager didn't try at all to help us. So be sure to have a reservation and get on time if you really want to go to this restaurant. I will never go to a place that didn't understood our situation.

Went here on business. The atmosphere and service were good. Queso and guac was good. My shrimp taco salad was just okay.

Great ambiance if your a single guy. Having to wait for 30 minutes prior to a seating. The women that flock there are incredibly gorgeous! The food is average or one step above. Chicken dishes were not served hot and returned. Tomales were mediocre. However; the drinks were strong and made it somewhat worthwhile!! Go on a weekday rather then weekend! Great Googly Moogly.. gorgeous Puerto Rican and Venezuelan Women!!

Don Julio’s has a reputation as a great local gem. It’s located in a busy strip mall with limited parking. Our party was seating outside and the ambience was a bit lacking. The margaritas were clearly from a mix as evidenced by the neon yellow color and lemonade like taste. I ordered en enchiladas mole after I inquired if the mole was house made and assured it was. However, it had the appearance of thinned jello and the taste of spiced ketchup. In general everyone’s meal was soggy and did not appear to include fresh, scratch ingredients. Our server was a bit absent minded but that could have been circumstancial due to low unemployment and difficulty in retaining wait staff in the good economy. I wouldn’t refuse to return but I would not choose to do so.

Rio Pinar plaza - Bridgette was a wonderful server!! We had multiple dishes, including enchiladas and tacos and every dish was delicious. We enjoy coming to this restaurant for the atmosphere, food and service. We will continue to come here!!

We had a chance to visit this location last night . This is a Mexican restaurant I wish was near my home in Ma. Amazing experience we had with one of our nieces , the people working here are above and beyond in their service. Food was great , my wife and myself share a plate and we had more than enough. Choices were awesome and there were a lot of choices ,tocos , fajitas etc. we choose a mixed plate that was awesome as you can see in picture. I highly recommend stopping here on your visit to Orlando!

We arrived later in the evening and the restaurant was still very busy. We waited about 10 mins for our table. Upon ordering they told us they had no “ripe “ avocados” for the made to order guacamole and we would not be able to order that but they did allow us to order the ready-made guacamole. They brought us out chips and salsa and that was tasty. The made to order guacamole was exactly how they described the avocados - big chunks of unripened avocados mixed through out it was not good. Our 2nd batch of chips and salsa consisted of pure watery salsa and the waiter did apologize for that. The queso we ordered was fairly good. The woman’s bathroom was deplorable- woman’s sanitary napkins, etc all over the floor, one toilet was completed clogged with feces. Trash overflowing all over the place. It’s too bad because we visited this establishment before and had a good visit. Unfortunately this time will seal the deal that we won’t be back.

We tried to have dinner at Don Julio's last night. At 7:30 there were hordes of people waiting to get seated. Figuring it must be good, we went for lunch today, We were not disappointed. I have never seen a Mexican restaurant before that put so much artistry into placing the food on the plate. The food was wonderful and reasonably priced The service was as wonderful as the food. Absolutely fantastic. We will return next time we are in that are of Orlando.

Admire a restaurant that offers lunch menu 7 days a week! Loads of plaza parking. Sleek, monochromatic color scheme. Modern. Clean. Good service. Food was fairly priced & tasty. My favorite was the flavorful salsa served with chips. I would return if in area.

My experience at the restaurant was absolutely wonderful thanks to Yanette. From the moment I arrived, he welcomed me with a warm smile and made me feel at home. His knowledge of the menu and his recommendations were impeccable. Every dish he suggested was delicious and exceeded my expectations.

Several times we have gone to taste the food of this restaurant. Again we went and as always his service and food is excellent. We were attended by a Colombian waitress with very good manners and very attentive. Only a small detail that does not take away anything good from this restaurant and are the cutlery set that are very ordinary. As always we will return with our family, especially Thursdays that have mariachi.

Jorge a waiter in the bar area at Waterford as very deceitful during our visit last night. We ordered skinny margaritas and he said “silver tequila ok”? Since we were with our daughter, her husband and FOUR grandkids and not paying much attention we said sure. He knew he was giving us the most expensive margaritas but didn’t feel he needed to advise us of the added charge. No where on the menu is the added charge noted either. I feel he should have advised us upfront that they would be $25 each! Not a nice way to treat customers, so we’ll never go back.

Worst experience food was tasteless . Chips greasy oil dripping from the bag. Store bought tortilla .Brought this to their attention never wanted to reimburse me for the food we did not eat. To put the cherry on top they responded we will relay to kitchen and with the audacity to try them at my expense when they did not even compensated me for the food that was thrown out. Chuys is far better with food that has taste and homemade tortilla salsa . More affordable

Our son and his partner took us here, as it is their favorite Mexican Food Restaurant. (Both of them are from Colorado.) We found the food average, as well as the service. Nothing stood out one way or another.

Was there on a Friday night and as a other reviewer mentioned it could be a bit loud, even though it was loud the place had a great atmosphere. Would try and get there earlier due to it gets really crowded. definitely would go back.

The steak dinner was superb! The cuts of meats were high quality, all natural grass fed meats. Also the selection of Argentine wines was impressive, bit peicey.

Went to celebrate with the family for my dad’s 70th birthday and it was a nice experience, service is excellent, the drinks all the flavors and tequilas taste wonderful and the food taste is amazing and the Mariachis band top it off the roof for my dad’s birthday was complete and we were satisfied and happy!!! An environment that for a moment makes you feel like you in Mexico. Can’t wait to do this again.

I had an amazing experience at Don Julio’s Mexican Restaurant, thanks to Raquel! From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. She knew the menu inside and out, offering great recommendations and checking in at just the right moments without being intrusive. Not only was she friendly, but she also made the dining experience feel personal and welcoming. Our drinks were always full, the food came out quickly, and she made sure we were happy with everything. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about her customers. If you’re visiting Don Julio’s, I highly recommend asking for Raquel—she truly goes above and beyond!

We tried it based on TA reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent. There is nothing overly special about the decor and as others have mentioned it is open and a little noisy but not annoyingly so. It was packed with locals. We will definitely be back.

Sad to say I am just done with DJ. There are so many other Mexican restaurants besides this one and DJ just happens to be by our house. We order my phone...They can't get orders right...you have to repeat, repeat, and repeat again...and now they nickel and dime you for everything but won't mention it so read the fine print. Can't get rellenos on the pick 2 or 3 anymore, if you want anything in your enchilada besides cheese it is $2 extra per item...$2 for this, $2 for that...so basically a pick 2 goes from $14 to $18. Pretty soon they will be charging for chips and salsa if they aren't already. This is what happens when a restaurant goes from mom and pop to many locations. No attention to detail and don't care about reviews like mine.

Near UCF Mexican restaurant. Great for the UCF parents when they come to visit. Great food, drinks and ambience. The DJ music was great inside restaurant but a little too loud for me. We sat outside. Santiago our waiter was great. Truly enjoy the visit here. Coming back soon

Sebastian was an excellent server. His recommendations were spot on! He kept saying to our questions “that’s good”. This was a terrific evening! And yes, he was right…it was good! Very good!!😁

I went for a mini reunion of present and former company employees who normally live in the Orlando area. First thing, it is a very popular dinner spot. Even going towards the end of dinner like 7:30pm or so, there was still a lot of people. Second, even though it is a family restaurant, the music is LOUD, louder than most typical Mexican places. The portions were good and delicious. However the extremely loud music made it hard to have regular conversations between friends.

Had heard good things about Don Julios so decided to give it a try. Place was busy but found seats at the bar. Server brought chips and salsa immediately - both husband and I liked the salsa, although he said it'd be even better spicy. It was thick and had a good, rich flavor - not like the watery salsas served at the national chains. I had the chicken enchiladas with guac and rice. Chicken was all white meat and tender, red sauce was good, although a little on the skimpy side - I like extra to dip chips into. Guac was very good. My husband had the tacos - said they were fine, nothing special. They have a large menu and our 1st experience was good, so we'll be back to try other items. Staff was friendly & attentive. Prices are reasonable. Not a fancy place, smallish joint in strip mall, but good food.

The atmosphere is great! The drinks are delicious at an affordable price and the food is even better! On the weekends they do have a live DJ, so it does it loud. We love the loud music and dancing in our seats as we sip on our large side cocktails and eat, so it was perfect for us. I wish they had more space for a dance floor!

The food tastes good. However the service wasn’t great. It took them a long time to see us because they were arguing about which table to use. Then they brought the fajitas, but never bought a large plate to eat the fajitas from.

We met 2 friends at the new Waterford lakes location and the place was sooo busy but we waited shortly. The drinks were great, big tasty margartias. I had a don julio shrimp bowl and I loved it. We got the guac appetizer and it was also very good. This was our first in-restaurant visit. My husband and I got take out here on their support local heroes during covid event and they were busy with that as well because they are so good! It is worth the wait. For take out we got a half gallon margarita, enchilada and taco combo dinner plate and it was delish! Will definitely be back soon!

The service was ok. Margarita's are excellent. The chicken enchiladas lacked flavor with rice and small salad average. If your looking for a great margarita this is the place. Mexican food is ok.

Do not expect Tex-Mex. This is more gourmet style food and spicy! Salsa was terrific. Do not sit in the bar area if you want better service (don't have to compete with bar clients).

Yummy 😋 delicious Mexican food. Table side made to order guacamole was yummy. All menu items were delicious. Margaritas were very tasty. Only thing was that we had to eat outside as the wait for a table inside was long. Outdoor area fans were not working and music was very loud making it hard to talk.

I had a large to-go order at 11a right when the restaurant opened. Andres greeted me at the door and was kind and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. I’m sorry I didn’t get their names but it was a woman with dark hair that was rolling silverware at the bar and another male server who looked like Oswaldo Cabrera from the Yankees who was also rolling silverware at the bar. He helped me with my bags to the car. Everyone was so so so kind and everything was correct with an order for 20 people with modifications.

AJ was great at proving my family great customer service and made us laugh. He was great at explaining the menu and providing suggestions since we are picky eaters. TBH he gave us a great experience by having a conversation with us. My dad and sisters felt the great vibes and we had a fun time.

My friend stated how he loved this place in 3 words-- authentic, good, and reasonable. I would borrow these to describe its location near Waterford Lakes. The staff was very friendly.

We visit regularly. Food is authentic, service is great, environment is family friendly. Do start with the chips and guacamole, and a margarita on the rocks. Can’t go wrong on the menu. Looking forward to a new restaurant in Lake Nona.

My wife and I attend Don Julio’s on a weekly basis but tonight was extra special because we had the most special server tonight Raquel M who went out of her way and above and beyond for our service. She was so professional and loving at the same time. We felt like family because Raquel treated us so well. I hope she gets the recognition that she deserves

This was the best Mexican restaurant we have ever been to. Service sensational! Food so good! Everything was exactly what we ordered and had leftovers! Great atmosphere. Will be going here again and again! Fresh food and came out piping hot!

Disappointing Experience at Don Julios in Waterford Tonight. I wanted to share my recent experience at Don Julios in Waterford with you. The food, drinks, and service from the wait staff were exceptional. Unfortunately, the payment process turned out to be quite challenging. We were a party of over 20, but sitting at separate tables. Upon receiving the bill, it was a bit of a nightmare. The manager informed us that they could only process 6 transactions for our party of over 20 individuals. Some people had already paid and left, but the rest of us were scrambling to figure out what we were going to do about the rather large bill that was put all together. Having separate bills for drinks and food made it extremely difficult for our group to split the expenses accurately. It took us 45 minutes to sort out the bills and determine who owed what due to this setup. We were charged a 22 percent gratuity for the large party, but the confusion surrounding the payments overshadowed the entire dining experience. To me, since we had to sit down and calculate each person's cost of their meal, the tax for that meal, and then the gratuity, it was not worth us giving them a 22 percent tip. It's especially disappointing because our previous gathering the year before at the same place was so enjoyable, which is why we chose to return. Regrettably, based on the handling of the situation, I have decided not to patronize Don Julios in the future. The explanation provided by the staff regarding their system limitations did not clarify the confusion we faced during the payment process. He only kept saying, you can Venmo people, etc. Not everyone has Venmo as a form of payment. I feel that they could have provided one check for each table and then we could have taken care of it accordingly. I honestly think they could have and should have provided a few separate checks in order to make the payment process easier. Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience. I wanted to share this feedback with you in case you plan any future events at Don Julios and have large parties. I hope this information proves helpful in your future arrangements.

Horrible food. Rice doesn't taste like anything. Stuff was in a hurry to get the table empty for another sitting. Gratuity was force on the bill for a party of 3. I would not recommend this place.

I love this restaurant. it was Recently remodeled and expanded. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. My favorite is the Don Julio shrimp special.
