Worst Italian Food on the Planet

By Randy M |

Absolutely the worst Italian food in my 46 years. I wanted to badly to enjoy this restaurant...yet the salad was so terrible, I didn't finish for the 1st time in my life. the entrees were even worse. Dine on frozen dinner, and enjoy a better meal,

after the show dining

By AllanNCynthia |

Cyn and I along with our good friends, Dave and Stevie, enjoyed a late night meal at this South Point Hotel restaurant following a wonderful show featuring Frankie Scinta, a long time Las Vegas Icon. The food was excellent and reasonably priced and we enjoyed soups, salads and some fettuccine alfredo and assorted fried seafood.

Great experience

By Kay W |

Food was very good. We were a group of 9 and everyone enjoyed their meal. Waiter was amazing. Very attentive, helpful and funny. We visited for a while after our meal, but were not made to feel rushed by the waiter. Definitely reconnend.

Italian Sojourn

By Becky W |

Loved it! The service was great and the food was tasty. The pasta was cooked just right, the Caesar salad tossed at your table was fresh and crisp, and the choices of breads and wafers with virgin olive oil were the best! The price was right, too. There was a nice variety on the menu!

Nice early dinner

By Clifford L |

Attending a conference, we decided on a 6PM reservation. Not many tables were filled at that hour. Service was good and not rushed. Meal was very good. And the place was quite.

Pleasantly surprised

By Ickibod |

We don’t think of restaurants in a casino being high quality. This was a very pleasant surprise. Thankfully, you can see the casino at South Point through the windows, but you cannot hear it or smell casino smoke, it is a very nice environment. It has a nice wine list, good tasting salads and entrees, and a friendly & attentive wait staff. If you are staying at or near the South Point, this is a good option. Pricey, but worthy.

Service was great - the food, not so much

By sandrakY578RX |

My husband and I went in for a 'nice meal' and while the service was very good, the food was lacking. We started with some Calamari, but had to send it back because it was over-cooked and was rubber band-like in texture. Next we had Minestrone Soup and Caesar Salad. Both were lacking in flavour. For our entrees, my husband had lasagne (it was recommended by the waiter that he get this over the lobster ravioli) and he was disappointed in the flavour and said that he was sure it had been previously frozen. I had the Chicken Marsala, which was flavourful, but my chicken was overcooked and dry. The portion sizes were very generous, but the quality just wasn't there. We did not have dessert, so no comments on that.

Not great

By MMMarty2ya |

Elegant but food wasnt as good as the ambiance. Service was very good. Chicken lombardi was a departure from my usual chicken parm. Taste not too different than chicken marsala. Eggplant parm appetizer was tiny and not worth the price. Were it not for the casino comp, I would have preferred to try a neighborhood Italian eatery which probably would have been half the price for twice the quality

Excellent service.....terrific wine!!!!

By martha b |

Celebrated my husbands birthday here and we were very pleased!!!! Ian and Daniel served our group and they were great. Very large servings and the food is delicious. We had wine of the month and it was very nice and only $20.00 !!!!!! I highly recommend this restaurant....think it is definitely the best in South Point!!!!!

If you enjoy be treated well , this is a great place to have dinner. There are plenty of food choices, focused on Italian food for every bodies taste. You can expect great service. There is a nice ambience, I always enjoy dinning here. Ciao

Great food and great service

By MrBill W |

It has been a while since we ate here but we were not disappointed. My wife had the veal Marsela, and I had the Shrimp Scampi. Both meals were excellent We stated the dinner with Cesar salads which was very good. the server, Roxanne did an excellent job. We will be back.

Food was Great

I really enjoyed the food here. Service wasn't as good as I would have liked but is was really good food. Have a little extra time when you go here.

Very Good Itailan Food At the South Point hotel

By MrBill W |

We had a family gathering and we all wanted to eat here. We were not disappointed. We all had different entrees and they were all good. We had spaghetti and meatball, a shrimp fettuccini, a veal parmigiana, sea bass and a Salads. the only negative I herd was on the shrimp Fettuccini was they could have had an extra shrimp. the service was outstanding. Yes we will be back.

Best restaurant on the property

By Tom F |

There are a lot of places to eat at the resort and this one is the best of them. Spagetti and lasagna were both excellent as was the salmon dish. The service was second to none.

Excellent food & service, but caring manager was the difference-maker

By David H |

They cared about my Las Vegas experience and that's what mattered to me. I showed up unannounced after spending 10 hours driving down the I-15. I happened upon Holly (Training Manager) who, after telling me they were fully booked, immediately phoned other South Point restaurants to check availability and booked me in at Don Vito's the following night. The Veal Saltimbocca dish was so amazing I returned for a 2nd evening and enjoyed the pan-seared salmon equally. Ron and Hector were efficient and professional waiters. I highly recommend, but do make reservations ahead of time.

There were 4 of us, 2 had great meals, 2 were average

By SunshineV88 |

My fish was way over done but still flavorful, my husbands oso buck was delish as was our daughter's salmon. Big problem that we had to wait 1/2 hour and ask twice for a bottle of wine.

Good Atmosphere and Great Service

By Mel_Iss_A_Lucky-One |

The service was great. Our waiters were kind and attentive. Our beverages were always full and our requests taken care of quickly. As far as the food goes, the bread basket was probably my favorite. We ordered the crusted artichoke as an appetizer, it was smaller than I expected but delicious! My husband had the chicken parmesan with the pasta fagioli soup. I had the stuffed ravioli with the bolognese sauce and a Cesar salad. The dressing on the salad was pretty tangy. The bolognese sauce wasn’t bad but a little salty for my liking. I would try something different next time. The chicken parmesan was average. Overall a good experience. Definitely worth trying at least once.

Great food inside a casino!

By Betsy S |

Food was excellent! Our service team was very professional and super attentive. They made suggestions that were perfect for us! We had a nice quiet booth where you could see the casino action but didn’t hear a thing. We will ask for Roxanne again too! We really enjoyed it and will definitely come back.

Don Vito's needs a new computer system

By Bob2222 |

We really wanted to eat here and enjoy the $19 summer meal deal. The 10 of us showed up at 6:20 and were told it would take longer than 10 minutes to set up a table for 10, and their computer automatically shut off the meal deal exactly at 6:30 so we couldn't order it. Fine, we said ---- We'll order it now. No go. Sorry. In addition, they don't split checks which makes it difficult to apportion the prices between our families. There is no excuse in this day and age for the old adage ' the computer won't let me take your orders'. That excuse went out with mainframes. And what system nowadays won't split the dining bills? Needless to say, we left the restaurant, never to return, and found another one nearby at South Point.

Overall good

By Kathysl02 |

The food quality was good but the servers need training. Ordered salads w/out croutons & sure enough had them. Server was confused when we asked about wines.

New Years Eve dinner

By Lauren E |

My husband and I ate there on New Year’s Eve. The waitress/owner, Barbara, served us; she was friendly and responsive! The food was delicious. Would highly recommend!

Fancy

By Justice H |

This is my second visit to Don Vito's in the past 3 years. They are located inside the South Point casino. It's a very nice place, you don't feel at all like you are in a casino. They have a massive wine list. I wish they had a beer list. My husband asked for one and they just asked what he would like. So, I assume there isn't one. They start with bread at the table which is 3 different types, all of which were just okay. He ordered the rigatoni and I ordered the chicken parm. We both had the Caesar salad. The salad was really good and our dinners were both good. The portion on the rigatoni was a bit small and on the chicken parm a pic large (see pic). The service was exceptional. You can really tell they pride themselves on their service. We would go back again. This is a nicer place and even though some people didn't, I would dress accordingly if you care about that kind of thing.

The best steak.

By Richard S |

We stayed at Southpoint Hotel Casino while attending the USBC nationals. We tried most every restaurant there and we ate at most every restaurant at Caesars Palace for 3 nights after that. DON VITOS was the best steak of 4 steak house restaurants. The steaks were cooked perfectly for all 5 of us. The ambiance was luxurious and the staff attentive. Furthermore the prices were a bit less than say Old Homestead or Palm on the strip.

As always amazing

By Richard C |

It was my wife and i 5th visit to eat here! The food is amazing and the staff is very helpful and friendly. On our first dinner there we had a waiter Murjo who was just great. Can not wait for our next visit.

Not Impressed-Overly Priced, Stuffy Atmosphere, Average Food!

By Debi N |

The hostess desk couldn’t find our reservation, acted like it was our fault (they eventually found it), was unfriendly and could care less about the customer. Our waiter seemed harried all the time with just three tables to wait on and an assistant that did most of his work. (The assistant was the only positive in the whole experience and was very attentive and helpful). The bread and cracker basket was delicious and plentiful, but the Pasta e Fagioli (basically bean and pasta soup) starter had no flavor at all. The Shrimp Scampi was good but no where near worth the $39. My husband had the Christmas special, which I will display in the photos, at a cost of $42, and worth $19.95. Not impressed with anything about this restaurant, felt uncomfortable the whole time and would never eat here again. With tip, the meal for two was $118. I accidentally deleted the Shrimp Scampi photo but it was simply 5 prawns on a bed of linguini with garlic butter.

Great meals

By Renee B |

There were 13 of us for our USBC “team dinner.” Hostess said we could only have 4 checks but wait staff accommodated individual/couple checks. Hector and Erik (with a K) were awesome. Those that had the lasagne said it was great but a little dry (not enough sauce). The Osso Bucco was excellent as was the chicken Marsala. We’ve eaten here often and we have never been disappointed.

Repulsive

By karen B |

Place looks nice and the servers were friendly but the bread to the salads to the foods was the total worst. The red sauce is poorly made and taste burnt and unhealthy. It is also full of Oil. We ate a few bites of our soup, salad, pasta and ravioli and looked at each other, paid the bill and walked out!

Consistent

By westie2 |

My wife and I shared a shrimp cocktail and calamari appetizers. The shrimp, numbering 4, were good sized, but the dish would have benefited by more cocktail sauce. The calamari were lightly fried, but the portion size proved to be too large for us. A bread basket with the Don's excellent dipping sauce proved too tempting though I knew we had over ordered since entrees include a Caesar salad or soup with us ordering the former. My wife ordered the chicken Angelo entree with me going for our usual eggplant Parmesan. Both were very good though belt busting. I used our $25 gift card won in the current promotion plus 2 ACG free appetizer coupons. Don Vito's service and food are consistently good.

Great seafood

By McFerrid |

Calamari appetizer feeds three! Great sea bass dish. She had rigatoni and it was quite good. Grilled shrimp appetizer was excellent. Beautiful restaurant and good wine selection. Wild cherry ice cream?????

Yummy...

By Herman02 |

When we finally only had a party of 4 we were able to be seated. This place has wonderful food. It is NOT your typical Olive Garden stuff, so if that's what you expect, do not go here. All the dishes we had were really really good. We each tried each others. Looking for really good Italian food, then this is the place...

Don Vito's Provides Excellent Service and Good Food

By porsche74s |

Back in town for our annual Mecum Motorcycle Auction and Bonham's, we usually end up at least one of the nights at Don Vito's for some good Italian food and ambiance. This trip we ate here twice, and each visit was a pleasure. The service is always outstanding, you're made to feel like it's special, and it is. The pasta dishes are very filling, so make sure you're hungry before you go. If you're thinking of going during your stay at South Point, make certain you call and get a reservation!

Okay meal... not great

By MMMarty2ya |

The restaurant is very.attractive and comfortable. Semi round booths provide an intimate environment for a couple, but a not so comfortable settng for four. Take a table instead. Before ordering, the breads and garlic/bean spread arrive, and they are truly delicious. We ordered a ricotta, herb and artichoke dip, and found it dusappointing... it tasted like it was just ricotta. Using our bean spread, we mixed it in to add a little flavor. My wife had eggplant parm, and found it lacking. It was a pile of ricotta and mozerella atop a paper thin slice of eggplant. My chicken parm, on the otherhand, had a generous juicy chicken breast with a proportioned amount of cheese and sauce. Overall, the meal was okay, but we gave had better experiences with other menu choices in the past.

Disappointing

By Nevada_Travelers_R-B |

Have been looking at this restaurant for some time with great anticipation since I cook and love Italian food. One of my most disappointing dining out experiences in a long time. The service was almost a joke and very a very poor waiter who obviously did not know much about food based on some of his comments and recommendations. We ordered Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms as a starter and they were not good. The gills were not removed just stuffed over which will not hurt you but they leave an unpleasant pungent taste so not good....easy way out but not what I expected from a place that advertises themselves as find dinning. The ordered a past with Marinara which the waiter described as thick and tasty. Wrong on that one it was merely watered down stewed tomatoes a long way from Marinara. Too many good places to eat in the area, I suggest that you go to Bootleggers and get some real Italian Food! Strongly do not recommended! There may be something good here but I sure did not find it and the service was unacceptable in my opinion!

Perfection

By Pamela H |

From the moment we went into the restaurant everything was perfect. The decor, food, service, everything. The best Italian food I’ve ever had in Las Vegas. I will try to return before heading home.

Good Italian food and fresh seafood....

By jackiebbf |

Service and food were very good... ambiance was friendly but personal... good wine list. Very glad we took the time to have a nice dinner here.

Excellent Food & Service..!

By Voyager595684 |

Don Vito's food is excellent and reasonably priced. They also have a suitable variety of dishes. The service was exceptional, and the ambiance very pleasant. We've been there about 6 times and always find the food and service to be the same - excellent. We will be taking friends to dinner there again tomorrow evening. Ron & Oksana

Excellent food at great prices for a full-service restaurant

By StevefromVegas |

Order anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. Why pay for over-priced celebrity recipes when Don Vito's is right there. Make the short drive to the south end of the Strip, it's worth it!

Food is actually awesome. .. I would go again everyone is super attentive ... menu is pretty reasonable. Staff is super friendly and I would go again

Great food! Even better service!

By Jessica D |

This is a great off-strip restaurant. We come here every year for their Christmas dinner. They have a prix fixe menu and it's always delicious. It comes with a bottle of wine for every two people. You can take the wine home if you don't finish it. All the hosts and servers are incredibly friendly and treat you like family. It's a great ambiance. The food is amazing as well! This past Christmas, we again did the prix fixe menu. We did the butternut squash ravioli, oven baked artichoke hearts, herb roasted turkey, medallions of beef and the peppermint cheesecake and raspberry & white chocolate mousse cake. Every dish was perfectly cooked and delicious. However, the mousse cake was beyond amazing!! By far, my favorite dish of the night. If you're looking for a great restaurant, off the strip, we would highly recommend this one. Plus, South Point is a great casino!

Excellent food, Excellent Service

By Richard L |

We finally went to Don Vito's at the South Pointe for dinner on our last trip! The food was excellent, wife and I had the dinner specials Chicken Marsala and Fettuccine Alfredo. The price was very reasonable. The staff was amazing, very friendly and very attentive. Would definitely go again, and recommend highly to our friends

The food is incredible

By Elizabeth A |

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The best Halibut I have had in ages. The only let down was our waiters assistant. She was a bit sourly with my sisters and I.

Many Photos added. Excellent dinner

By NitroDog |

My wife and I dined here for dinner at the South Point Hotel & Casino. It started with a bread basket. Table-side salad was served. Great presentation. My wife had the special of the night, Halibut with crab on top and a Minestrone Soup. I had the Chicken Piccata. Yummy. I will return very soon. The fun book on check-in to the hotel gave us two free glasses of wine.

Good Italian

By Shari B |

The food here tasted just the way we wanted it to. We really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere.

Good Service, Good Food

By rryan313131 |

Nice restaurant, good employees, and pretty good food. Great for groups or just couples. Nice view of the casino too, worth a visit.

New Year’s Eve fixed menu but too much food.

By manyplaceswest |

We decided to try Don Vito, the Italian cuisine at South Point, prior to our New Years show. We got reservation six weeks ahead and it was almost full for the evening. We did not know that it was a single fixed menu of four courses for fifty-five per person. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately. A couple of us wanted wine but they only sold it by the bottle, no by the glass. (Disappointing) Food came out in an organized fashion with no major time delay between courses. All portion for everyone at the table was very large, too much for all of us. We wondered if we could have shared some of the plates but did not ask. (Our mistake). Food was pretty good, better than expected. Crab cakes were excellent! Caesar Salad very ordinary. The veal chop was especially large and thick. It was cooked perfectly and pretty good. Overall, table service was better than expected. Location was very pleasant.

Excellent!

By CSML47 |

Lots of great choices on the menu. Food was excellent and well presented. Service was superb! Would recommend.

Impresseive price and atmosphere. Not as good as my Motown Italian restaurant.

By Jeffrey |

The atmosphere is quite nice and waitstaff is attentive and detail oriented. The menu had an abundant selection of chicken, veal and steak entrees well priced. We frqeuented the restaurant twice. Admittedly, the minestrone soup was a bit watery (not like in my fave Detroit restaurant). The tossed tableside caesar salad was tasty but could have used a more premium crouton, along with a more pungent dressing. Frankly, the J Alexander or Outback Steakhouse caesar is a bit better. The price for their entrees was extremely fair and the cherry ice cream was absolutely delicious. Glad I tried the place out !

Uber to Canada

By Barbara G |

Missing their food. Wish I could have eggplant parmigiana, so good. Too bad that there’s no such thing as a long distance delivery.

Bad.....just bad.

By sd2chi |

Seven of us arrived after the final night of CES. We choose Don Vitos because we were staying at the South Point, were tired and did not want to Uber it elsewhere. First the “good”. The spread (tomatoes, garlic) for the bread was great as was the crisps in the breadbasket. Service was friendly and punctual. The “average” included the rest of the bread, stuffed mushroom (lacking flavor), Calamari (meh), Cesar Salad (clearly out of a bag) and the pork chop. The bad....the fried mozzarella cakes (the cheese....what little there was is not supposed to be yellow), Ravioli which looked like it was covered in Cream of something soup, chicken parm (no flavor) and veal. The “horrible” was the lasagna. The meat was mushed up ground beef, very little (fake) cheese and noodles you could barely locate. Unfortunatley the three of us who did order the lasagna did find them.....and they were brown. We even asked if rhey were whole wheat. The answer was “no”. In the end we all maybe took five bites asked for the check and left. Very disappointed. First and last visit to this “microwave from frozen” Italian restaurant.

Don Vito’s is a solid choice

By Fred M |

Don Vito’s is a solid choice for Italian cuisine while visiting the casino. My colleagues and I were all impressed with the generous portions and comfortable atmosphere. As you might expect, this restaurant also boasts a full bar and good selection of wines. One of my colleagues ordered a “make your own pasta” with a carbonara base adding mushrooms and Italian meatballs. She reported the pasta was cooked perfectly to “al dente,” although the spices were somewhat disappointing. My Chilean Sea bass was outstanding as were the veal and halibut my colleagues enjoyed. Unfortunately, the salmon another ordered was served over cooked and dry. We left the scene satisfied, feeling that the price was reasonable for the convenient location. Next time we are in the area, though, we will find another restaurant to try.

Reminds me of home

By sfelm |

The food here is more than awesome. It reminds me of place that my family used to go off Mission St. in San Francisco. Very good enchilada's! I will be back again soon.

Good Italian food and nice setting

By Peter G |

My wife, daughter and I went here one evening for dinner and the food was very good. The server was very nice and the restaurant setting was nice and comfortable. Altogether a very nice meal.

Horrible Halibut

By Richard and Yer... R |

The halibut was so dry and extremely overcooked. $42 wow. How it even made it to the table amazes me. I forced a third of it down and had to leave over half. I was going to give it to my dog, but I didn’t even want her having that… For the chef not to take charge and remove it from the bill or offer a return meal was a disgrace And horrible customer service. I never complain about food. I told my neighbor I was coming here and he tried to talk me out of it. I told him I will give it a shot because I’m Sicilian… The server Ian and his partner was excellent. I look around on a Saturday night at prime time and hardly anybody is in here I think I know why. FWIW, will not be recommending this Italian restaurant to any of my friends when they come to town or my family for that matter and if I’m being honest I should post something on Facebook as well. If it wasn’t for the great customer service with a server I would give it a zero for the Halibut.

Perfect setting

By msteeler2 |

We go to Vegas every year for a week and eat every meal outside our condo. Don Vito's is a main stay for us. We dress up a bit and go out for a date when we go there. Make a reservation as it tends to get busy (as does any good restaurant). The food is well prepared, the menu has enough variety for all and the prices are very reasonable. We have the waiter take a pic of us at our semi-circular table and its fun to see how we have matured. South Pointe has a few good places to eat but this is our favorite.

Good service and food

By mmabend |

We have probably have eaten her a dozen times. Particularly good wait staff. Food was good. Horrible customers. One table could not control the excessive noise from a child, nor did we see much effort on the adults. Other customers were inappropriately loud, poorly dressed, hats on and with pathetic manners. This is a nice, upscale restaurant, not fast food. Again, excellent service and the food was as we requested. Next time we will try to visit later in the evening.

Amazing sauce for bread basket, great appetizers

By joy181 |

We were exhausted, decided to check out this restaurant figuring we could find something there. It was a fabulous experience, great service too. We weren't looking for a large meal and ordered appetizers. The stuffed mushrooms were amazing and the prosciutto wrapped asparagus pretty great. Lots of interesting flavors in both. They served us a bread basket, with what they called a sauce. This sauce was the best! Roasted tomatoes, garlic and loads of other tastes. We had this with an Italian beer recommended to us. Loved it!

Great place to visit

By Bre D |

We were looking for a nice restaurant to catch up with friends and decided on Don Vito's. we love this place and have always had great service. The sea bass is to die for and the rolls with the tomato garlic oil dip that is served with all meals is wonderful. I would not hesitate to take people to this restaurant.

Excellent Traditional Italian

By nshoreslimguy |

Don't judge this restaurant by its location. Inside the South Point casino, it is a very nice relaxing restaurant with outstanding service. The food was very good and l have found it consistently good over many visits. I will be back!

We loved it

By Denise D |

The food was delicious. The service was great . The atmosphere was great . All three dinners and salad was delicious. I would recommend it

Very good Italian

By Brian y |

As we were staying at South Point, decided to give Don Vitos a shot. Prices were reasonable; $33.00 for veal marsala & $22.00 for spaghetti and meatballs. Meals included a caesar salad which was nicely cold and included a lot of parmesan cheese. Both of our chooses were tasty and filling. A good chose while staying at the resort/casino.

Were It Not Comped, I'd have been disappointed.

By Mark Clay M |

We went to the one at Southpoint (I don't know if there is another) where we were staying and playing. Our dinner was comped, and that always makes things better! Our reservation was at 6 pm, and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is very nice with windows that look out into the casino.. The staff were friendly and efficient. The manager stopped by our table to make sure all was well and allowed herself to be dragged into our silliness with a great sense of humor. I had the fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken. The chicken was fine, but the sauce was thick and sticky, and the pasta was unlike any fettuccine I'd had. Kind of wide and lumpy. As I said, it was okay, but not what I expected from a higher end restaurant and at those prices. One of my friends also had the fettuccine and felt pretty much as I did. The other had a filet mignon, which I tried, and it was perfect! If I find myself at Sputhpoint again, I think I'll come again and have the steak!

Outstanding Dinner

By bobbyb09 |

Had a truly fantastic dinner here. I started with the baked stuffed clams and, while only getting three for $9, they were by far the best I have ever eaten. For dinner I had chicken marsala with penne pasta served without marinara (get it without the sauce and have them put it on the plate with the marsala sauce). This was also outstanding. Dinner also comes with soup or salad and I had the pasta fagioli with hand grated fresh mozzarella cheese. Folks, this may have been the best meal I have ever eaten in an Italian restaurant. Can't recommend this enough.

Excellent Itallian with Fine Service

By iowaland |

Portions are very large. They have a $10 split plate option that is a great way to go. The entire menu is outstanding. We loved this place.

Excellent Italian

By mmabend |

Cannot beat the food. Outstanding. Wait staff was flawless. Very nice restaurant, comfortable, well laid out. For God’s sake. Don’t bring crying kids into this fine restaurant. We had to hear a kid cry several times.

Good service, lousy food

By peterfromjersey |

Had dinner at Don Vito's on Oct 17, 2017. The good: service was prompt and friendly. The wine list is impressive (although we didn't order a bottle). The bad: the Caesar salad was the worst I've ever had, with bottled dressing and store-bought croutons. The bread was also store-bought and verging on stale. My osso bucco was good, but served on pasta with no sauce (not even a touch of olive oil). Not pleasant. My wife's chicken parm was just awful--dry, overcooked, way too much tomato sauce (which itself left much to be desired). Her side of pasta was an overdone pile of mush. I've had better food at the corner pizzaria for a fraction of the price. Two dinners with cocktails (no dessert) cost over $110, not including tip. Extremely disappointing. As for the glowing reviews on here, I suspect they're from people who don't know what good Italian food is supposed to be like.

Disappointed

By DR11440 |

Nice restaurant, great atmosphere, good service. Thought I would try something different, started with artichoke franchese. I thought it would be the hearts, not so,it was the small center leaves stacked, egg dipped tasted like thick batter. Verdict, would not order this again. On to main course, again thought I would try something new, had the lobster tail milanese with side of pasta. Lobster was overcooked, was not lightly breaded as stated in menu. Breading was thick and the combo just didn't seem to work. It was disappointing. On to the cherry ice cream ( that the menu says you got to try it ). Well I tried it and it completed the trifecta of disappointing dishes. Maybe would give this place another try and order more conventional Italian dishes.

USBC team dinner

By Renee B |

There were 18 of us for dinner at Don Vito's. We were high maintenance and Daniel and Ian handled our group with ease! Food was excellent. Wine and desserts were also exceptional.

AWESOME

By Valerie A |

Spent my birthday eating here. Though it was also Valentines Day, and we forgot to have reservations, the staff was accommodating and seated us anyway. Service was amazing and food was as well

Wow wow fabulous food great service

By Sirmatty |

Had a superb meal here on 19th Sept The steak was amazing and my wife loved her shrimp prawn pasta the starters were also to our liking and we were unable to fit in a pudding Thank you very much and this place gets our recommendation to others

Great food

Great dinner place, a nice place to have few friends around the table to eat and talk. Good wine and food.

Excellent Food, Drink, Service and Atmosphere

By robertscottw661 |

A wonderful Italian restaurant within the SouthPoint Casino. Avoid any wait and make a reservation and request a booth. Cozy round booths! Excellent service! Great wine choices, including a delicious Edna Valley Cab at a decent price per bottle. For those staying in the hotel, I understand there is a coupon available for free wine. Other reviewers said the restaurant was dark. We didn’t find it dark at all. It is a bigger sized restaurant so it doesn’t feel cramped or overcrowded even when busy. Delicious bread basket and accompaniments. The meatball appetizer (photo only shows one; sorry, we devoured the others) was delicious and fresh made - not frozen - with a delicious tomato sauce. Caesar Salad is assembled and tossed table-side, with optional anchovies. Just delicious! The Eggplant Parmesan was perfectly done - not mushy at all. It was fresh and delicious! The Linguine Clams were delicious also! Over 20 clams in shells, plus more in the sauce and noodles. None were rubbery in the least! I went for the white sauce, which was a good choice , as it really let the flavors come through! We enjoyed every morsel and every minute at Don Vito’s. We will be back. I would highly recommend.

Mediocre

By Fenton M |

There was a little confusion when we first entered, as they couldn't find our reservation, so they put us in a back room with almost nobody there, so no atmosphere. The service was good, cocktail and wine selection was good. We had the escargot and a blue cheese wedge salad. The salad was great, the escargot was mediocre. We ordered the linguine white calm sauce with extra garlic and a veal dish. The veal was good, the clams had very little garlic, but no shortage of crunchy shells in the sauce. Not terrible, just not great.

Excellent service, okay food

My wife and I had the pleasure of eating dinner here twice. Our meals were eh at best. The first was the Sea Bass, which the wait staff said they were know for. Both of us ordered it the first night Neither of us felt it was a memorable meal. The second night I had the pork chop and she had the pasta. Neither were impressive. The service was five star. Take a drink of water, put the glass down, and it was quickly refilled to the top. Honestly, the best thing we are here was the Smores desert. That was to die for...But if you want an awesome meal in Vegas, a phenomenal awesome meal, we recommend going off prop erty.

A local gem

By EDITH C |

Great and friendly service and really fine food and wine made for a great experience. Everyone there is wonderful. A real gem

Acceptable

By jn92075 |

On the positive side: service was reasonably good, portions were large, the tomato/garlic relish that came with the bread was very tasty, and the Caesar salads were nice. Unfortunately, the entrees were just so-so. The osso bucco was rather bland and it was served over spaghetti rather than with risotto or polenta, which I was not wild about. My girlfriend's fettuccine alfredo was OK, but the pasta somewhat overcooked. So it wasn't bad but for the price you might do better elsewhere.

The best in Las Vegas

By Blakely S |

Not only is the food the best, but so is the staff. We were treated like Kings on Christmas Eve of all days when everybody wants to be home with their families.

"Awesome Food"

By Richard C |

The food was amazing!! It was so good we ate there twice. The food and service was great. My wife and I received a coupon for a free bottle of wine. Would highly recommend eating here.

Couple of great meals while staying at South Point

By Constance F |

My husband and I ate at Don Vitos twice while we were staying at South Point on business. The first night we had Calamari as an appetizer and I ordered the Raviolli a la Vodka. The Calamari was good but the Raviolli was amazing. It had a sweet taste which I had not expected but it was a really pleasant surprise. I absolutely loved it. Because they also serve a salad with the meal it was far too much food. The second time we ate there, we both ordered the Chicken Parmesan. It was not really to my liking as I like a bit of spice and it was a bit bland. But there was nothing wrong with it. Just not really to my taste but I am sure someone else who does not like spicey foods would have enjoyed it. Service was really great. I actually commented to my husband that the atmosphere and service reminded me very much of a cruise. We had a head waiter and a support waiter catering to us the whole time we were there. I rate it high for food, service and atmosphere.

Excellent Italian food!

By Debra T |

There are many restaurant choices in the South Point hotel in Las Vegas but the best one is Don Vito's. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. I ordered the Cappellini Pomodoro, a simple angel hair pasta complimented by a sweet basil and fresh tomato sauce. Yummm.... :-)

Monday night

By westie2 |

The Don again hosted us for dinner on a Monday night when seniors using points are able to pay 1/2 price. My wife and I hit a perfecta by parlaying The Don's senior promotion with American Casino Guide coupons good for a free appetizer. My wife chose a shrimp cocktail while I smacked my lips after ordering clams casino. Her dish would have benefited from more sauce while mine, assuming you had to pay with cash, seemed overpriced given the size of the 3 clam shells. As usual, The Don included a complimentary basket of bread accompanied a fantastic dipping sauce. The tableside prepared Caesar salad was chosen over soup though it was immediately apparent to my taste buds that the dressing was devoid of anchovies. We each ordered the eggplant Parmesan from the Vito's Specialties section of the menu. The dish was solid, but not likely a contender for a James Beard award. Overall, Don Vito's delivers acceptable Italian/American food at reasonable prices.

Don’t go here during the NFR

By Carolynn L |

This was the second time my husband and I have dined at Don Vito’s. Italian Restaurant. This time was not a good experience. We dined on Dec. 11, 2017. The positive things about the evening included the delicious bread and salads. I had the champagne balsamic dressing which was wonderful and my friend had the blue cheese dressing which she liked too. My husband had the shrimp, and scallops seafood dish which he liked. My friend’s fiancé had the prim rib which he gave a taste to me and it was a little dry. Another negative thing we noted was that because the rodeo was in town the restaurant only had 5 Italian dishes on the menu. My friend and I decided to split the bone-in rib eye which we ordered medium rare. It was was medium rare but it was too tough to eat so we both sent it back. They did take off the rib eye on the bill and the waiter did apologize for the meat. I do not think I will go back.

Outstanding

By Karl F |

Don Vitio’s in the South Point is an Outstand Italian restaurant. Do yourself a favor and have the gnocchi it is fantastic. Fabulous flavor and delicious little nuggets of heaven. All entries come with a choice of a Caesar salad or soup. They have a great wine selection and fantastic service. You will thank your tastebuds when you try Don Vito’s. Enjoy

Terrible Food

By Rodney W |

My wife wanted to try this restaurant out for a long time. So we went in. We ordered our food and when it showed and we started to eat it, it was terrible. We had spaghetti and meat balls. The spaghetti was over loaded with way to much garlic and the meatballs were burnt. As you can figure out, we left this place to never return.

A must for Italian!!

By Sheila t |

I had the Alfredo with the chicken. It was one of the best I have had. The food and service was excellent. Highly recommend it. Good selection and atmosphere!!

Great Italian food

By Joe G |

Loved the atmosphere as well as the service. The food was great and the staff made you feel welcome with that at home comfort.

Not real Italian

By guseboy |

Wow what a disappointment! We choose this restaurant because they had a $19 three course meal. None of the 3 courses was worth a 1/3 of the $19. They call themselves an Italian Restaurant, but nothing is Italian in there. The food was very bland and had no taste, even by adding salt and pepper it still need something. I can say that the only thing that was good was the service, other than that please stay away from this place unless you want fake Italian.

Authentic Italian Goodness!

By Robin T |

I never order meatballs out but this was the exception … they were phenomenal and the best Italian bread in FL! Viva Italia

Excellent Birthday Celebration for Wife...Daughter Loved It, Too!

By 808son |

We live in Hendertucky near the I-215/Green Valley Ranch Station and decided to try another locals spot, Southpoint. But for the nasty traffic on St. Rose to get to LV Blvd, we arrived a bit after our res time but quickly valeted and found our way to this Italian hideaway. The server could see that I was a bit miffed from what I thought was a 15 minute drive from GV Pkwy so she was very empathetic and reassured me everything would improve from hereon out...and it surely did! She was actually one of the support staff and together with her reassurance, she brought out some unique bread with an olive oil/garlic/herbs relish that was very different and tasty. We had reviewed the menu choices so we listened to the server announce a few specials then ordered. Wild sea bass for my wife, fettucine for our 12 yr old daughter and I opted for the veal/mushroom cannelloni. Well, not to downplay the well prepared entrees BUT, we had way too much bread and salad (included). Next time, we might opt to ask for half Caesar salad or just a taste of their soup. We also ordered stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Preparation and presentation of our meals was excellent. Bday girl was given a chocolate dessert with raspberries/black berries and daughter had to have DV's smores. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was attentive and we most appreciated the privacy, quietness, and beautiful décor. We used OpenTable for our reservations and were seated immediately. Oh, we ate every bit of our leftovers and while pasta dishes are typically not the best for leftovers, we did not waste a single bit. Both my girls said they wanted to return to try something else. I do, too. A bit outside our dining preferences for MauiBoy and his ohana but it was well worth it.

new year's eve package

By Wayne F |

Excited about dinner offering, disappointed with meal. Expecting some of the best Italian food I've ever experienced, didn't get it. Started with some decent bread, so-so Caesar salad, but entre disappointing. Chose the Halibut, tasteless and over cooked. Had Halibut in Alaska and no comparison. Great service though and coffee the best.

Excellent Italian Food

By Georgie J |

Beautiful restaurant inside Southpoint Hotel and Casino, first floor. Fabulous, flavorful food, great service, beautiful ambiance. Relaxing. Elegant.

Good Italian food

By Dennis S |

Nice quiet restaurant away from the casino action. Many good choices on the menu and a nice selection of wines. The service was very good with a nicely paced meal.

Amazing experience

By Leticia F |

One of the best in Vegas. The wine selection was great, the eggplant parmesan was perfect, and the tiramisu was delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant. Oh, and the service was impeccable.

Fantastic!

By Melissat1021 |

Our experience was fantastic tonight! Roxanne’s service was over the top along with the rest of the staff. The food and drinks were excellent and everything we could have hoped for. She was lovely by helping us celebrate my friends fathers 76th birthday! We are locals and look forward to coming back again very soon! Thank you so much for the wonderful and memorable night!!

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT

By Engineer_Lou |

Had Dinner here December 10, 2018. Because the Rodeo was in town they offered steak menu items from the Silverado Steak House. I started with the Lump Crab appetizer ($20) and my Fiancée had the Shrimp Cocktail (3 large shrimp - $18). We both had the Rib-eye Steak dinner. My steak was fine but my Fiances was tough and we sent it back. The replacement steak was much better. However, it took much too long to get the replacement and I was done with dinner by the time the replacement steak arrived. For Dessert I had the Molten Lava cake which, was not what I expected. It was small and flat and not your typical Molten Cake. With a bottle of house wine, our check was over $200. RATES A RETURN: I would not return at these prices.

Trust me - you need the street fair zeppoles in your life

By Serena L |

Go here knowing that you must save room for dessert because the zeppoles are super delicious of you like hot, fresh, powder sugared donuts served with melted chocolate sauce. Thank goodness the prime rib place was closed and the steak place had a two hour wait. We ended up here and got seated right away. Very friendly staff from host to waitress to bus people. Nice Italian ambience. White table cloth but not too fancy. My scrimp scampi was good, not great. I would go back and order a differenr main dish. I would definitely order the zeppoles again but the waitress said they are planning to take it off the menu, so you better go now and get some! Well worth the ten minute wait while they make them fresh and hot for you! I’d wait twice as long.

1/2 points on Monday for seniors

By westie2 |

Once again we found ourselves at Don Vito's door and he welcomed us in. We started off with complimentary glasses of wine courtesy of American Casino Guide coupons plus a bread basket accompanied the Don's excellent roasted garlic, sundried tomato and EVOO dipping sauce. Entrees include a choice of soup or salad with my wife choosing the Caesar salad while I a cup of pasta fagiole. The soup was very good while the salad was okay. The Mrs. chose chicken Angelo (chicken sauteed with mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and black olives) in a white wine sauce. The gentleman selected the Mediterranean seafood salad (a mix of shrimp, scallops, calamari and lobster that had lightly marinated in herbs and EVOO and served on a bed of lettuces, tear drop tomatoes and capers). Both dishes to proved to be amply portioned and very good. We happened to be dining on a Monday evening and we happen to be seniors so the Don only charged 1/2 points on my wife's slot card. I got to the privilege of paying the tip.

Worth a visit!

By Climber735401 |

The atmosphere of this restaurant is comfortable and friendly. Its' marks of distinction are the quality of food and the professionalism of the serving staff. It is located in Southpoint and whenever we visit, we try to plan a meal here. If you like delicious Italian food, this is the place to visit!

Italian at it’s Finest

By Maureen K |

Great Italian place where you can also get seafood and steak. Hubs got the rib eye and said it was delicious. Came with mashed potatoes and veggies. I got Penne Bolognese and it might have been the best I ever had. Place was packed and service was slow. Waitress never even came to check on us but the bus person did. Will come back

A pleasant surprise, Italian meal and service in SP casino

By Jaysandiego |

Found this resto in the group of 11 restaurants at the South Point casino in south Las Vegas. What a nice surprise, a slow night, few patrons on a Tuesday night, great food choices at very reasonable prices, meal included a ceasar salad or hot soup, breads were tasty with a delicious homemade tomatoes based garlic sauce for dipping . All of it fit well together, servers were kind, professional, prompt, and not overly bearing. So I went back again three weeks later to celebrate a birthday with three visitor friends, and nice meal and service again. Desserts were killer, didn’t expect to find this type resto inside an average LV casino. Busier nights you definitely need a reservation, only open for dinner hours, just GO !

Great affordable Italian restaurant

By TommyD57 |

Had a nice relaxing and affordable meal in an upscale atmosphere. They have a vast wine selection to choose from. The chocolate layer cake is an absolutely divine way to end the meal. Two thumbs up for Don Vito's.

Good Italian Food served here

By Nailcutter |

Came here for dinner while here on business. Ordered pasta with with grilled chicken and vegetable pasta. Ceaser salad came with dinner and made st table side. Heaping portions of past was served and all very good. Warm bread served. Service very good as well as the prices. Again off the strip restaurants in. Vegas serve good food at reasonable prices.

Best Cannoli ever.

By 322BalloonRide |

In the South Point Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas. The service was great and the food was even better. They brought Lavash Flatbread to start the meal. We started out with Prosciutto wrapped asparagus which was really good. He had Spaghetti with Meatballs and he ate the entire bowl and I had Bolognese that was almost as good as mine(I make a great Bolognese). For desert we had Tiramisu which was okay and we had a Cannoli which I still dream about. It was amazing. I will go back and enjoy this quite restaurant.

Great Italian food.

By Jeff W |

I was in the mood for don Vito’s and had no problem checking in. the service was outstanding and the staff is excellent. I got the baked ziti and it was excellent. no long wait for the food. my server Melanie was so sweet. she was kind and pleasant. this is the reason I keep coming back here, because of the people and service. I hope Melanie gets the heads up on a job well done.

Great all around meal

By Brandon K |

After wondering into Don Vito's I was wonderfully surprised by the amazing meal that followed. A hidden gem in the South Point Casino. Everything from the bread on the table to desert was perfect!

Really Nice Italian Experience. Would recommend!

By ALEX P |

Service and food were excellent. All entree include a Cesar or soup.Good bread basket too. Portions were big. I had the lasagna and couldn't finish it. Nice ambiance in the casino. Value priced compared to places in town. Big wine and cocktail menu and great pricing and large pours on many drinks.

italian food

By Toni L |

A group of us went to this restaurant after the Bonham Auction. this restaurant is located in South Point hotel/casino. Very nice atmosphere. Food was very good. Service was attentive. They had quite a wonderful selection of entrees.

Avoid the specials

By MMMarty2ya |

We had their lower priced specials, and, unlike previous experienced in Don Vito, quality did not compare. In the future, we'll order from the regular menu. Don Vito is an excellent Italian restaurant, but you'll never know it if you choose to eat from the special menu.

Must do

By westie2 |

One of our must do's while vacationing in Las Vegas is to dine on a Monday night with Don Vito. Why you might ask? #1 the food is quite good: #2 prices are more than reasonable: and #3 seniors may pay using 1/2 points on Mondays. Need I say more? This night we each used a free appetizer coupon downloaded from the American Casino Guide website to order a shrimp cocktail that included 4 good sized shrimp and a pretty decent cocktail sauce. Entrees include a Caesar salad tossed table side that was quite good. My wife ordered salmon while chose veal piccata, both of which included green beans. Update: it appears the 2024 American Casino Guide coupons do not included the aforementioned appetizer coupon.

A wonderful Italian restaurant!

By Victor C |

Great Italian restaurant tucked away inside the South Point Hotel/Casino. The food and service are outstanding, I had the linguini and clams with white sauce, it came with 2 dozen clams in their shells and the sauce was perfect. My brother had baked Ziti, also excellent. And finally chocolate cake desert was amazing!! Check this place out it is definitely a gem!

Amazing Staff & Food

By Jeannine W |

Walking in the door the hostess were extremely nice. Our server Chris was the best! He got to know us on a personal level. Wanted to know why we were there, where we were from, he was just so friendly and genuine! I noticed he was originally from the Philippines and told him my dad retired and moved there. So we also talked about that. That alone made it an amazing experience! The food! So so good! I got the filet minion medium rare with green beans & soup as my starter. My husband got the special filet minion, shrimp, green beans & he got a Caesar salad. The bread was amazing there were about 4 different types brought to us. The food was just amazing and my husband said he is still dreaming about it! If you get a chance got to this restaurant it’s located in South Point Hotel & Casino.

Nice

By John H |

Located in South Point casino. Decor was a bit old fashioned but comfortable. Service was top shelf and our food was very well prepared and delicious. Chicken Parm was outstanding.

Awesome!

By Michelle M |

Outstanding food. Bruschetta with bread, Caesar’s salad, fresh fettuccine Alfredo, Veal Piccata, Tiramisu and Pineapple upside down cake were all fabulous! Hector was our waiter. He was attentive, nice and helpful. Our meal came with a bottle of wine. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Christmas Dinner Menu can't be beat!

By KSSeaB |

My husband and I enjoyed Christmas dinner here. My BIL had treated four of us to dinner here a couple of months ago. In both cases, service was stellar, food was good and the restaurant is lovely. For better or for worse, it's inside the South Point Hotel & Casino. They offered an amazing Christmas Dinner Menu. You could order off of the regular dinner menu or choose the Christmas Dinner Menu which was $49 per person for a generous bread basket and a bottle of wine to be shared by two people plus three courses each: an appetizer, the entree and a dessert. For my entree, I chose the Traditional Christmas Feast which included a ton of carved turkey, both light and dark meat, with gravy; mashed potatoes with gravy; stuffing; spiced sweet potatoes; green beans; and cranberry sauce. It was so much food; I didn't eat half of it. Then there was the Ricotta Gnocchi which I chose as my appetizer and Coffee Amaretto Panna Cotta for my dessert. The gnocchi was gummy and without flavor. Yes, the peas and peppers in ricotta were good but the gnocchi were not. Dessert was great while the liqueur lasted but, once that was gone, the Panna Cotta totally lost my interest. Hubby had Italian Christmas Soup as his first course. It was very flavorful. He had Seafood Cannelloni for his meal. The Cannellonis were chock full of lobster, scallops, shrimp and crab. The lobster really came through. They were very filling and he was only able to eat 1.5 of them but I think a younger person would have finished both. He chose the Cannoli Cake for dessert. It was heavy. But, taken with the whipped cream, it was the perfect bite. It was heavy, though; so much so that even the two of us couldn't finish it. I've noticed two Reviewers who were unhappy with their booth. We were in front, front and center, really. My husband enjoyed the heck out of watching the parade of people walking by. A man whose cowboy hat kept falling down onto his face. A well-dressed couple who we imagined were headed for Michael's. It happens sometimes; someone has to sit at the table. When we were here a couple of months ago with my FIL and BIL, we were seated in the center of the restaurant. I guess it's the luck of the draw. After two recent experiences here, I highly recommend Don Vito's. The food isn't great but it is good; service IS great. Bon apetit!

HUGE great food!

By Penelope C |

As regular visitors to Vegas from the UK we decided to try this restaurant out for the first time! We had $150 in vouchers to use up at this resort and the restaurant menu looked lovely! We decided to share 3 starters of shrimp, stuffed mushrooms and fried squid followed by salad, soup, clam linguine and seafood linguine..... oh my goodness! Check out my photos! The portions were huge! We also had a bottle of wine. The bill came to $156 inc. 15% tip. There was enough food to bring back for dinner tonight! Recommend choosing dishes and halving them as there is so much! Only gave 4 stars because portions were too big.

USBC2021

By Renee B |

DonVitos accommodated our group of 15 quite well. Problem with one order (mine). I ordered the petite filet medium RARE. It came medium WELL. I should have sent it back but I didn’t want to delay dinner of the other 14. Otherwise all VERY good and happy with entrees.

fine dinning

By jeanniejensen |

we used a coupon to eat here, food was great, and the coupon for the dessert was fabulous the dinning room was upscale.

Disappointing Experience

By TakaMorgan |

We opted for this venue on our last night of recent trip. We were very near walking away after being seated due to inattentive service. The wine list in this Italian Restaurant contained less than 10 Italian selections out of approximately 100 offerings. Overall uninspired food - returned a Caesar Salad that appeared to be out of a bag and a flavorless dressing. The eggplant parmesan was average at best.

Nice Italian Food

By Deb W |

We had a great dinner. I had the wedge salad and split the veal piccata with my husband. It was very tasty.

Amazing birthday celebration

By Angelica |

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 13. We had to sit apart due to covid but all was well. The food was amazing, our servers were very nice and on it. Thank you for helping us celebrate my Mom’s 60th bday. It’s an Italian restaurant with Italian dishes, they did offer a special with steak as well. Lemon drop was amazing!!!

Great Italian at South Point Casino

By Timothy C |

Enjoyed a really good meal in the dining room after a show. Great service and good food. A very nice combination. The restaurant has the feel of an old style Italian restaurant that I have enjoyed in NYC. They serve an awesome poached relish with the bread. Pasta was superb.

Good Italian

By bobbyb09 |

Had dinner with a friend. The chicken marsala was excellent. The meal comes with a nice fresh caesar salad and a side of penne pasta. All of the meal was very good but the rolls seemed stale. That was the only disappointing aspect of the meal. Service was attentive and water was refilled as needed. Very good Italian restaurant but they need much better bread with the meal.

Fend for yourselves!!!

By E Wildy |

We reserved a table here. Unfortunately we were sat next to a large christmas party. We were neglected completely....I even had to call the front desk for my entree and then the bill....lol....The fake manager on duty didn't even have the courtesy to compensate us for the applling service we received. The couple behind us received no service at all and walked out. Best to avoid around christmas perhaps.

Dine with the Don

By Steven G |

Although Don Vito’s is not a Mafia Hangout, it is an excellent Italian Restaurant. I will let you in on a little secret. They are running a summer special which is a choice of 1 of 4 favorites, side of pasta, delicious bread and rolls, salad or soup and a 2 item choice of desert for the fixed price of $19. which is an exceptional value. Served Sun.-Th.5-6:30P. Come later for the regular menu which is a hidden gem of authentic Italian cuisine.

Loved it

By Sherry R |

We were staying across the street and came in to try it. Very friendly and prompt service . Great menu and we loved our food. We were in between business meetings, next time I would like to try one of their drinks or a glass of vino!! Hope to be back soon!

Delicious

By 4Schus |

I can't wait to go back for their bread and oil..wow!!! Enjoyed our other dishes too. Service by the assistant staff was excellent..water always full..we we're never asked if we wanted another cocktail by our server..kind of forgot about us. All in all was a great evening and definitely would go back!

Entrees excelled

By westie2 |

My wife and I each were in possession of a free appetizer coupon downloaded from the American Casino Guide website. I used mine for burrata, melon and prosciutto which underwhelmed my taste buds, yours may disagree. My wife chose a shrimp cocktail that was mistakenly served without cocktail sauce. A bread basket was offered with a tomato, olive oil and garlic dipping sauce that was not as good as in the past. Veal Marsala was my winning entree while hers was pan seared salmon. Entrees include a Caesar salad tossed table side or soup, we chose salad. A second choice is required - seasonal vegetable (green beans) or penne marinara - we chose healthy. Service was very good considering the restaurant was packed. Tip #1: seniors with available slot points can score 1/2 point pricing on Mondays. Tip #2: secure reservations through OpenTable.

So amazing...

By romazzino |

This restaurant was a huge surprise. Located in the low-key South Pointe Casino, their food and service would rival any high-end Las Vegas Strip restaurant. A comfortable and unpretentious dining room that is still very nice. Attentive and prompt service through the entire meal and the food...well, so many amazing things! The Artichoke Hearts are to die good! Tournadoes of Beef were so fantastic as well as was the Nutella Cheesecake... Oh, and try the Vito's Limonata, amazing cocktail!!

Locals Favorite

By MDDdolphin |

At the end of Las Vegas Blvd., about 10 minutes drive from the Strip, is the South Point Hotel. It’s a locals hotel and casino with free parking and a well known equestrian center. Don Vitos is the Italian restaurant with a familiar menu of pasta, veal and chicken dishes ranging from $20-40, with a good ossobuco at the top end. Salad or soup or pasta are included sides. Dishes are not fancy, but we’ll prepared, tasty and generously portioned. A decent wine list with bottles under $50 available. If you want a break from Strip prices without sacrificing quality, Don Vitos is a good option.

Not so good

By Steve P |

We spent 4 days at South Point and ate all of our meals in the casino. Don Vitos was by far the worst. I had a veal piccata that was very bland. My wife had a lobster dish that was just fishy in flavor. None of the three of us at the table would eat the pasta side dish. The only good thing about the place was the service.

Most wonderful Veal!

By melinda n |

This is one place I love to have dinner. I always have the veal and look so forward to it. It melts in your mouth. House salad dressing very good. Leave room for dessert.

Delicious

Had a great experience here. From service to food and wine. I had the gnocchi and it was exceptional! Would definitely go back!

We had a lovely dinner at Don Vito's

By Anthony S |

We had a lovely dinner at Don Vito's. The menu was varied and the food was delicious. The prices on some items were moderate. The wine prices were very moderate. The décor is pleasant and the restaurant was pretty full for a Tuesday night. It is a medium energy restaurant. The wait staff were exceedingly charming and professional. The location is in the Southpoint Casino

Very nice but change the bread!

By Claire1955 |

We enjoyed everything we ate except for the bread/cracker basket we were served! A nice in-house roll or fresh-baked bread would have made the meal marvelous! Other than that, it was great!

No complaints

By 53sparky |

Our meal was a 'thank you' to good friends, reservations were easy, nice decorations, staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. Our meals were excellent. I would go again in a heartbeat.

delizioso cibo italiano

By Robert L |

Inside the South Point Casino is this great Italian restaurant. Great service and food. Moderate prices. Get there early for the Osso Bucco.

Very disappointing

By james6764 |

We decides to eat here because our first choice had a 45 minute wait. We should have waited on the first choice. I ordered the lasagna and the pasta fagoli. The soup was terrible, it was quite mushy and did not contain any kind of meat. The lasagna was just a step above eatting a frozen tv dinner. They do not even grate the cheese at your table. My husband had the Garlic crusted sea bass. At first he said it was good but the more he ate the more he started to dislike it. It was drenched with way too much butter. At one point the waitress came but and pour water into my lemonade and when I told her it was lemonade twice she just laughed it off. For the quality of the good it is way over priced. It cost us $75 not counting tip. Would not done here ever again.

Outstanding

By James V |

New Year’s Eve at Don Vito’s. It’s difficult to exclaim quite enough about the ambiance, the food and the service this evening. We always go out for dinner on New Year’s Eve, but as we have aged (we’re in our 70’s) we have opted for a more subdued evening. Our restaurant choice, however, has always been important to us and Don Vito’s was our third choice on this night. They were serving the Silverado Steakhouse menu this evening and this will be our first choice for New Year’s Eve in the future. We met Maître D’ James when we entered, and the evening began graciously. James was personable and accommodating as he showed us to our table, and he remained so throughout our dinner. After dinner he checked up on us and made sure we enjoyed our experience. Who does that? And talk about service. Our server, Monica, was delightful as was our bus person whose name I believe was Ulises. Both made us feel special. And now the food. Wow! We could not believe the outstanding menu. We both settled on shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. I had asparagus and beefsteak tomatoes as a second course and my wife had mushroom bisque. Our entrees were sea bass and filet, both cooked and served expertly. Then there was dessert. Fresh strawberries for me and black forest cake for my wife. Coffee and tea and a bottle of wine were included with dinner. For $69.00! Unbelievable. One of the best meals we have had in quite a while. We exclaimed to James and Monica and told them both what a great time we had. I can’t tell if we’ll return next New Year’s Eve since it is so far off, but I will try and make reservations now. What a lovely evening. Thank you.

Another great meal at Don Vito’s

By Renee B |

We have eaten here many times when traveling to Las Vegas and staying at South Point. First, thanks to Mark who went out of his way to allow us to have multiple checks for our group of 13. Our server (Joel) and his assistant were outstanding. Joel even made sure to bring me my favorite dessert (creme brûlée) from the restaurant next door. Everything was delicious from the Italian meals to the steaks. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. Hats off to the staff !!!!!!!! We will be back !!!!

Service was great, but food was average.

By Joseph S |

I've eaten at Don Vito's many times, and while I've always liked the food and excellent service, this time it was just average. Service as with before, was excellent. However, the food seemed to have gone downhill. Not that it was bad or anything, I just found it average (and so did the 2 others that I was dining with). Nothing about the entree (veal piccata) that stood out in terms of taste. Just a large portion size. The bread with tomato relish & the artichoke appetizer is still outstanding. I would have been happy with just 2 orders of each.

Don't Eat Here An Offer You Can Refuse!!

Meal started out ok. Waitperson friendly. Salad ok. The appetizer undercooked with blaise marinara sauce. My fish was good.. My partner's eggplant parm was bland and mushy. sauce was same as what was with appetizer, and on my pasta side. It was bitter. We were offered no water refills til I asked. We didn't see any waitstaff after we were served. The place was not busy at that point so no excuses. Plates left. The wine was good. The table of loud people was not. we could have been seated farther away. For a $100 meal it was not much. We shouldn't have left a tip but we aren't mean. It was a bad experience and the hotel didn't care either.

Enjoyable meal

I want to say that you do not have to get dressed up to be welcomed. The service was great and prices reasonable. My husband had there Chicken Parmesan and his soup was very good also. I had Chicken Fettuccine but I thought the sauce could be better. The wine we had was so good and we were told we could buy it in gift shop. What a plus! We would eat here next time back to Vegas. Gian are server Kudos for your customer service.

Wonderful atmosphere and food

By Love to travel! |

We went here twice while staying at the Grandview next door. They treated us special by giving us a complementary glass of bubbly to help us celebrate our anniversary. The food quality and staff were incredible. Be sure to make reservations as it is a busy place! We will be back

Amazing service

Love this place. Such a fine dining feeling in a somewhat lowbrow casino. I loved the level of service and the kk fest of the workers. The food was amazing .

Our 1st visit, won't be our last.

Friends suggested this for dinner before a show. Very good Italian food, we enjoyed it. Got great service! I had Pasta e Fagioli soup & then House made Fettuccini in Creamed Almond Pesto....so good!! Hubby got Cioppino & enjoyed it.

A great "Go To" upscale restaurant.

By Robert E |

I've dined here a half dozen times, all outstanding. Steaks are grilled perfectly, not just so do. Salad and potatoes are prepared table side, a nice touch. Service and ambiance are great. This is my "go to" place for entertaining out of town guests.

Great Food

By morine00 |

The food at this place was to die for. The portions are excessive and you will not be able to eat it all. The service was impeccable. You will not find better service in Las Vegas. You must visit this restaurant.

"Great Italian dishes"

By CactusCaro |

We like to eat here every visit to Las Vegas ...good food, nice quiet setting, and friendly staff. Service has always been top notch. The restaurant is located in the South Point Casino. (We like to stay at the resort next door).

Maybe the Best

By Michael K |

OK. I eat a lot and I eat at a lot of restaurants. This one is in the top 5. Wait staff was amazing (even when dealing with the unruly table next to us) and the food was almost to good to eat. Presentation Amazing. Flavor Amazing. Amazing. Will Be Back...

Delicious food and very nice atmosphere. The restaurant is located inside the South Point Hotel and Casino. I tried fettuccine aflredo with chicken and cream brûlée.

World Archery

By BMWrider_12 |

Was at the Archery competition stopped in here because it was easy.Great Atmosphere and fantastic service. Food was OK. Not as good as some national chain Italian restaurants. Definitely more expensive. I am neutral on this one. if you are in the /south Pointe and want out of the noise and a OK meal this works.

Hostess was rude.

By Karol D |

Christmas Day, we had reservations that I made 2 months ago. We arrived at the reservation time of 6:00. The hostess was confused and acted like we had already checked in. We had not. It went downhill from there. The hostess acted like we were trying to get in without a reservation. The restaurant and casino was very busy. After standing there in a small area, we felt very awkward. We were seated about 6:10, by that time I was ready to try another place but every restaurant was booked. Service was slow although room didn’t seem full

Second time at Don Vito's. Lasagna was delicious and the wine offering was perfect for the meal. I will be back soon I hope.

Came hungry, left stuffed

By Karen D |

Decent portions, delicious food. For appetizer we got the shrimp cocktail, bruschetta and calamari. All were delicious. Went with another couple and everyone's dish was outstanding--eggplant parm, ravioli a la vodka, and filet mignon. desserts were fantastic as well, tiramisu, chocolate cake and capp cheesecake.

Very filling - recommend this restaurant

By like2travel16 |

Very nice evening. There were three breaded shrimp with the appetizer. I would recommend this appetizer (while only three). Caesar salad was fresh. Breads were served with dinner along with roasted tomatoes/garlic - yum!! The Rigattoni was a very healthy serving. Easily shared by two people or plan to take some home for leftovers! I had the S’mores dessert. Very rich. You won’t be disappointed and have no reason to leave hungry! Very comfortable setting. The wait staff was very personable. Ian was our waiter and another fella to refill drinks and pick up plates very timely.

Will go back

Too many tables, not enough staff,,,but the staff was still great. The food was excellent! If any body can figure out the recipe for the tomato compote that comes with the bread, please post. It's my husband's favorite

Great service

We were staying at South Point for our anniversary and we went to Don Vito's for dinner. We were so pleased we did. Service was so good, the servers were knowledgeable and helpful with menu details. Fresh breads and antipasto to start the dinner. Lovely wine. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo and my husband had the calm linguine. Both were delicious. If you stay here make this a stop for dinner.

Very nice!

Great food, amazing service. The Lobster Ravioli is to die for! Kudos to Ian and the staff serving it up this evening.

You DON’T need to go to the strip for an amazing meal!

By Renee Fraser |

We just finished dining at Don Vito’s Italian at South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa. The entire experience was amazing! We had 2 wonderful servers taking care of us, Melanie and Francisco. They were so attentive and professional. And the food….so tasty! We started the meal with a cocktail, I had the Limonata. So light and refreshing, and for only $9. My husband and I shared the Mozzarella Fritti. These are not your run of the mill mozzarella sticks. Breaded mozzarella triangles served on a bed of marinara, drizzled with Alfredo and then topped with a fried basil leaf. Yum! My husband had baked ziti for his main! Really flavourful marinara with tons of chunks of sausage and baked with cheese. He is a good eater and could not finish it all (&he really wanted to). I had the Chicken Milanese. Best meal I have had in some time! The lemon butter sauce was poured on the chicken table side, so the lightly breaded chicken wasn’t soggy by the time it reached the table. So flavourful! And I cannot forget to mention the Caesar salad…mixed table side! Authentic Caesar dressing, served in chilled plates no less. My only regret is that I did not have room for dessert, because I’m sure it would have been every bit as scrumptious as everything else! And the icing on the cake was Melanie packing our wine for us…with glasses…to take back to our room with us. Don Vito’s hit it out of the park!

Great Food & Service

Came here for dinner one night alone since I was staying at the hotel for a conference. It came recommended by one of the bartenders and I'm happy I went. The service was excellent and the food was even better.

Good Italian inside of the SouthPoint.

By Fred G |

We have eaten there a few times, and every meal has been very good and satisfying. It is conveniently located in the SouthPoint, with FREE parking (unlike the MGM properties).

Ruined Valentines Day

By Karen L |

Worst experience in a year which is saying a lot since my spouse and I go out to dinner weekly. Previous experiences were nothing like this and the fact that it was Valentines Day actually made it worse. Treated callously by both the hostess and the manager. Before tonight I would have wholeheartedly recommended Din Vito’s. Sadly I can no longer recommend say that.

A solid hit!

By Brian |

Italian food is hit or miss in Vegas, but this was a solid hit! We were there for my sons 16th birthday and he was greeted and presented with a card when we sat down! What a nice surprise! Chris was our waiter and he was informative and funny and kept the drinks filled. The food was prepared perfectly. Chicken parm was plated with just enough sauce and cheese, the veal Marsala was the best one my my dining companions has ever had, and the Caesar salad was tossed table side and everyone got to season it to their preference with cheese and pepper. Desserts were on point! We’ll be back!

Excellent Food and Broad Menu

By Richard B |

There is more to Italian food than spaghetti and lasagna and Don Vito has it. My wife likes to go out to dinner and then play slots and I wanted to eat Italian so it was Don Vito's. We were very pleasantly surprised with the elegant decor and the very friendly service. I had the shrimp scampi, 7 very large shrimp on a bed of linguine with a buttery cream and garlic sauce; the shrimp was very tender and the sauce caused me to eat more of the linguine than I wanted since I planned on desert. I opted to have a cocktail since I was full and ordered a 1910 Manhattan up, while my wife had a Banana's Foster Creme Brulee. Both of us were very happy with our choices and we agreed we had found our new favorite Italian Restaurant.

Unexpected surprise

By youngcj49 |

Don Vito's in the Southpoint casino was an un expected surprise. The restaurant has an excellent staff that was friendly and accommodating, the service was great. The restaurant has an upscale look and feel to it but, the prices are very reasonable and the food was delicious. I will definitely go back there when I,m in Las Vegas.
