We enjoyed the house salad, the rib eye and baked Alaska which was magical. I would definitely go back and try other cuts of meat.

Came with 11 people for a business dinner. Overall, it was ok, however - I was expecting for much more than "just ok". Food was good, especially starters and desserts, the steaks were way too much salty and made beyond requested temperature. It was not bad, but far from being perfect. The drinks were perfect, too bad one glass of wine was spilled over my partner and we were very much surprised to find a piece of a broken glass inside a glass that was served with a drink. I honestly had great expectations and was somehow disappointed since it was far from being perfect.

Booked here on Christmas Eve as I wanted to make sure I found somewhere nice to eat that was open and not booked solid, as I was staying in the Fontainebleau. As an added bonus the play from my stay last year meant that I had $100 dining credit at the resort, which you have to use all in one go or you lose the remainder. And Don’s Prime sounded like somewhere that I might be able to blow a hundred bucks even with my small appetite! The restaurant is lovely, dark green leather banquettes that make you feel you have been transported back to the 1950s and all the waiters were great. No problem at all that I was dining on my own! I knew I wouldn’t have room for a starter or a steak as the smallest steak was an 8 oz fillet. So I chose the scallops which came on a bed of butternut squash and a bulgur type grain. They were slightly over salted for my taste but very nice other than that. Four big fresh scallops, cleaned of any coral and grit, cooked perfectly. I followed this up with the signature pineapple upside down cake which was delicious all washed down with a glass of Moët. A very enjoyable Christmas Eve meal, and I did not feel at all weird eating there on my own. The staff could not have been nicer! It’s a great restaurant and my only regret is that they don’t offer a 4 oz steak!

Great steakhouse with wonderful ambiance. Service was great and all the food we tried was incredible. Highly recommend the table side chocolate mousse.

Over priced and bland. The wine was not good quality, the food was just OK. Ridiculously priced for the quality. Dont waste your money

My experience was first class from start to finish. The decor and ambience are impressive when you enter the venue, and the comfortable seating and cleanliness are notable as you are seated. My servers were Rachel and Angel, who were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful without being intrusive. The sommelier was incredibly skilled at helping me select a wine pairing for each course and explaining his recommendations. The food was excellent. I had the chopped salad, sea bass, and one of the daily sorbets. It may seem strange to order these lighter dishes in a steakhouse, but in a town with such large portions and heavy fare, this was perfect for me. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the flavors throughout the meal were delicate and well-balanced. I felt great at the end of the meal, and well-looked after by the team.

In an ultra-competitive steakhouse market, while good Don’s falls short. At a minimum, a top steakhouse needs to get the temperature right on a steak. I ordered the rib cap medium rare, it came out medium well (not even close). It should have been caught by the kitchen and not even sent out. Worse, when I spoke with a waiter, his first comment was cut it in the middle. While I did and the middle was also medium well, that never should have been the response, why would I even want a steak where parts are overcooked. I could tolerate this situation at a mid price or lower restaurant, but not a premium steakhouse. Outside of this experience, the meal overall was good but not great. The lobster bisque looked beautiful (lobster pastry on top) and had nice lobster, but the flavor was good but not particularly complex. I will say the rib cap, once a medium rare one was brought out, was cooked perfectly and had a nice taste. The corn and broccolini were okay but not great. The real star, surprisingly, was the chocolate mouse dessert, prepared tableside, tasted great, very interesting and good flavors, and one portion was enough for four. If the steak came out perfectly cooked the first time, I’d say four stars, but you can’t get that temp wrong and the rest was not good enough to overcome.

Five stars to everything - food, service, atmosphere. I have never had a steak as perfect as the one I had there. There are a lot of great steakhouses in Las Vegas, but Don's will stand out as the one I will remember the most. I can honestly say is was a perfect meal.

Bread arrived without butter. Server forgot to ask how I wanted my steak cooked - I realized this 5 minutes after placing the order and alerted another server - he took care of it promptly. My cosmopolitan on the rocks was good but a bit too sweet for my taste. The $89 “rib cap” steak was good but they used sooo much salt it was hard to eat. The whipped potatoes were also over salted making the entire meal a bit disappointing. I was pleased to see it was cooked properly at medium temp. I’ve never experienced a meal that was so over salted - I literally began to wonder what they are trying to hide with all that salt! I was hoping to find a new Vegas “go to” steakhouse but instead I found a salt mine on a plate. If you must go to Don’s Prime, ask for light or no salt - you can always add at your discretion.

We stayed at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas during a trade show and hosted a dinner for 14 people in the private dining room of Don’s Prime. The room is gorgeous. The food is exceptional. The service was off the charts. Jared was our sommelier, and he made sure no one’s glass was ever empty. John and Amanda took care of us throughout the night, and they are masters of customer service. They anticipated needs before we even saw them and quietly and efficiently presented solutions. The meal service ran smoothly and perfectly. There was never a weird gap where we were waiting for food. The food itself was delicious. We built a menu with the team that included salad and entree options, two family sides, and dessert choices. Everything was amazing. Go to Don’s Prime. Ask for Amanda and John. And have a wonderful evening!

We had the tier match comp and chose Don's Prime for our meal. The bread. Oh my the bread. Best ever. So buttery and juicy. Yes, juicy. Amazing. I got the 9 oz filet and it was large and perfectly cooked medium rare. Great flavor, tender and juicy. Hubby got the NY strip and it was also perfectly cooked and juicy and well seasoned. We got the potatoes au gratin and they were delish. The asparagus was ok, nothing special. This is by far the best steakhouse I've been to in Vegas, and possibly ever! Go here, you won't be dissaponted.

I can't gush enough at our experience, the food, service, and ambiance were en pointe. The atmosphere was posh but not stuffy, classy but not off-putting. The music was not too loud (one of our pet-peeves). The servers could not have been more pleasant and they we knowledgeable. The restaurant pays very close attention to your allergies, as gluten-free was important for us and they were very careful. Both the regular and gf breads were excellent. Both our steaks cooked to perfection (one rare and one well-done). The squash in maple bourbon sauce was exquisite. The chocolate mousse was extremely rich and satisfying. Yes, it IS expensive - but try eating an incredible meal like that for cheap - it isn't happening.

Don's Prime is awesome! Food was wonderful and the atmosphere is special. Was on a solo trip so didn't want to take up a table. They have a bar. I was met by Kiahra at the door and she offered me a small lounge area. I took her up on it. Food was wonderful. I got the NY Strip and the smoked old fashioned. I can't wait to go here again. Sorry no pictures. My phone was on 4% battery when I walked in the door and they charged it for me during my meal. You will enjoy this place and ask for Kiahra! She was on top of everything and took great care of me. Thanks again!

Don’s Prime is a solid choice if you’re looking for a nice steakhouse located at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The space feels modern and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional, and service moved at a good pace. The steak was perfectly cooked , with good flavor, and the sides were tasty. The seafood dishes were delicious, dessert was also worth ordering. It is on the expensive side, but that’s expected in Vegas. Overall, a good spot for a special dinner or if you want a classic steakhouse experience in a new setting.

This was hands down our best dinner experience of our entire trip and quite possibly in the top ten of all restaurants we have dined in of all time (and that is saying A LOT with this group of seasoned travelers and foodies) .. It literally could not have been better and the taste and presentation of every single item (even the signature table side old fashioneds) was extraordinary. From the moment you walk through the door of this elegantly appointed gem you are made to feel special and the entire dinner experience was flawless. Can't wait to come back to the amazing Fontainebleau and dine at Don's Prime again!

This place was recommended to me by an acquaintance. And they were spot on. The meal was amazing. First was the bread. I had to push it away. I did not want to get filled up on it. Then the NY strip steak. It was tasty. Oh, and the whipped mashed potatoes with chives? Incredible. I'll definitely return.

This is a top notch restaurant! Excellent food and service! I highly recommend the French Onion Soup, which was honestly the BEST I’ve ever had! Our steaks were perfectly cooked. The au gratin potatoes are delicious too! We loved the atmosphere. Don’s Prime exceeded our expectations!

Impressed from the moment we walked in and were greeted with a smile. The servers, runners, greeters are all solidly trained and know how to take care of guests without being officious. Service is what really makes this place stand out above the rest. The food was, of course, excellent, but I will return because this place just makes you feel special when out for the evening.

Firstly I note that the two most recent reviews were not that favourable. That does however differ from our experience with 6 of us dining at Dons Prime just over a week ago, on Sunday 2 November. It was really very busy on the Sunday evening at 730 pm, and the initial prime cap steak that was initially recommended had run short. So we changed to purchasing a massive ribeye and sharing it up between us. Wow, the steak was amazing, as was the various sauces and sides. Being rather busy, it was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was well worth it. The steak was super tender and all our dishes were cooked as we requested with no issues. The service was excellent, and the waiter extremely knowledgeable about the types of meat cut. The wine we chose was also very nice. Interestingly, some comments referred to the cost, but we also ate at the nearby steak restaurant (The Edge) at the Westgate Hotel, and the prices were very much the same. Personally I thought the prices were similar to other restaurants offering good quality food across the USA and would certainly return to Dons Prime if the opportunity arose. The setting in the restaurant was also very pleasant, as is the entire hotel that we stayed at for 5 nights.

We were celebrating a birthday in our group. Greeting was nice when we checked in, acknowledging the birthday. We were seated in a back room, it seemed much darker than the room we walked through at the front of the restaurant. There was a large table of men dressed casually with baseball caps on. They were loud and we were not happy to find this in a restaurant of this caliber. Our server Angel was nice, explaining the menu choices and bringing the bottle of wine we ordered. We ordered shrimp cocktail to share for my husband and myself. Our friends got the sweet onion soup. They thought it was going to be like French onion soup with the cheese melted on top, but it wasn't. They said it was just ok. The bread was amazing. We all enjoyed that. Entrees came and our friend's steak that they were sharing was way overcooked. They ordered medium rare and got medium plus. Now we have a problem !! our filet was fine, but now theirs had to go back. The wife said let's keep it, but her husband said he was not paying $90.00 for a steak that was not right. I couldn't agree more. So, we have our steak, the side are sitting there, and they have no entree. Just what you don't want to happen, especially out celebrating a birthday. Seems the order was put in incorrectly. Medium, instead of medium rare. The manager came over and I told him how displeased we were. They did bring the steak, correctly prepared quickly which we were thankful for. They brought two nice desserts for the birthday, both no charge. That may be the norm or they were trying to make up for the misstep. This is a nice restaurant, and we would probably return. A mistake like this should not happen at a high end steakhouse like Don's. There should be some safeguard for being sure the orders are entered correctly. We spent $500.00 plus tip! for 1 bottle of wine, 2 shared appetizers AND 2 shared entrees, 3 sides and a comped desserts. An expensive meal that should have been better. My average rating is for the missteps, cost and no dress code.

We were 2 couples who ate Filet Mignon and Seabass with some side orders on sharing. very good food and nice waiters. The price is a bit high, but it is worth it compared to what you get elsewhere in Vegas. Great selection of wine.

I had a wonderful time at Don's Prime. The staff was very polite and gave great service, which elevated the entire experience. The steak was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever tasted. The team worked seamlessly together, and the atmosphere was elegant and lively. An outstanding restaurant in every way! I traveled from Japan, and I will absolutely return the next time I visit Las Vegas.

Don’s is an old school steakhouse located in Fontainebleau. It has a pretty nice ambiance and the service was friendly and very professional. The food was good and the prices were what you’d expect of a Vegas strip resort. Overall I thought it was just ok. There are many other steakhouses in Vegas so it takes a lot to one to stand out to. It was still a good experience and I’d recommend trying it. Elegant steakhouse within Fontainebleau. We had a party of 9 and were seated in a beautiful private room; we did not request a private room when making the reservation. Service was amazing as was the food and drinks. Would highly recommend.

Wow . This is the best steak we’ve had in a long time . We’ve been coming to Vegas for 15 years and this restaurant inside the new Fountainblue is a must visit for steak. The staff was not pretentious . Prices are on the high side but portions warrant the pricing . We felt so welcomed and comfortable. I don’t eat much steak so when I asked if it would be possible to split an entree with my daughter , there was no plate up charge . We split the prime filet 9 ounce that was accompanied by three huge scallops . We ordered three sides for the table . The highly recommended Potatoes Au Gratin, spinach and a wedge salad . We left a lot of food on our plates . The starter of homemade bread at the onset didn’t help us at all. It was delicious. Next time we will try to skip the bread but it will be hard to do . We will be back .

Went for our anniversary during a 9 night vegas stay. This was not only the best meal of our trip, probably one of nicest meals ever had. The service was OUTSTANDING The bread - WOW - black pepper running through it, delicious The Fillet Steak - now that’s how a fillet should taste - insanely good Creamed spinach - nicest thing ever eaten Potatoe Gratin - just WOW Wine - sommelier recommended a red to us and it was superb Thank you for a wonderful night I’ll be back in March with my friend for my birthday Mr McCall

A little on the high side so be prepared. Place is huge and you cannot tell it from the outside. Really nice dining rooms with lots of booths. Service was perfect and the steak was perfect.

Let me start with the downside: the food was so good, I couldn't stop eating! The bread--OMG the pull-apart bread--to DIE for. Our fillets were cooked perfectly and were so delicious. Chimichurri was ok, steak sauce was great, but the steak really didn't need it. We also got potatoes gratin and again--OMG amazing. Service was really great, and our server had a great personality. We showed up early for our reservation, so we sat at the bar first. Drinks were great, ambiance at the bar and restaurant was really classy and nice. Overall, I was impressed and I will be back!

My wife and I dined at Don’s on a recent trip to LV. Overall, the experience was amazing. Service was top notch. Drinks were excellent. Restaurant is clean with a classy decor. Great upscale vibe and dining room was pretty full on a Thursday night. It was expensive but we knew that going in. The food quality was excellent. The bone in ribeye was cooked perfectly. So why 4* vs. 5*? 1. The food was way too salty. And we use salt. Regularly. In everything we cook. The steak was slightly over salted. Not a deal breaker. The creamed spinach was salty. I’ve had creamed spinach hundreds of times and I’ve never once complained about it being too salty before last night. The creamed corn tasted like someone poured sea salt over the top before it was served. We barely touched it. The good news is that this is easily corrected through better quality control coming out of the kitchen. 2. The steak - while cooked perfectly - should be served on a hot plate so that the meat stays as hot as it can for as long as it can. The plate was cold. Another easy fix. Do better!

We were expecting a excellent dinner @ Don's Prime and it certainly was. There are separate "rooms" that make the experience more intimate and it definitely helps the waiters/servers keep each area well attended to. The "pace" of the meal was just right and our food was terrific. The steaks were some of the best we've had anywhere at any price. The potatoes au gratin were just right and the cheesecake.......delicious. It's not inexpensive by any means, but if you are looking for a high end steak house experience where they get the small details right, try Don's Prime.

I had the Idaho farms Waygu steak that was recommended by the server. Best advice in the world. Up until now the best steak I had in Vegas was the Rib Cap at Prime Steakhouse. The steak at Dons is better and the flavor is indescribable. Amazing. Service top notch and great wines by the glass selection.

Words can't describe how over-the-top amazing this place was in every regard. It is a finely-appointed classic steakhouse with exemplary service. Bailey and Issac were so attentive, courteous and helpful during the meal. Everything was spectacular. Might be my favorite Vegas steakhouse

This was our last dinner after almost a week of nonstop eating in Vegas and the best ever! We are true foodies and everyone thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this meal from start to finish, even the Vegas tap water (which normally has a taste we don't care for) tasted fine here! As many others have mentioned, the bread is amazing and it was a struggle not to fill up on it. The mushroom risotto was delectable (the only thing that could have made it better would be the addition of a butter poached lobster tail on top like Hell's Kitchen LOL). We ordered filets and I had the Snake River Farms American Wagyu NY Strip. That strip was perfectly seasoned and cooked and absolutely delicious. It needed no accompaniment. As a family we always give each other a little taste of each of our entrees. Let me tell you it was tough to give up even one little piece of that dream of a steak. The filets were just superb as well. (One of the two came out a bit overcooked, but they made another one for us to correct that right away.) The mac n cheese was creamy and wonderful and even got the enthusiastic seal of approval from my foodie son who rarely likes or approves of anyone's mac n cheese. The whipped potatoes with chives just melted in your mouth. We are definitely coming back here each and every time we are in Vegas!! We hope this place never leaves!

The restaurant is very classy and excellent service. When we were seated and we had reservations but we were given a table extremely close to another couple. When we asked for another table as several were empty we were denied. The food was excellent but the wine pours were extremely small for the price . I think I would have been a lot happier if we would have had a nicer table for the price and considering we were having a couples dinner and did not want to be next to two men discussing business.

Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful attentive staff. I appreciated that they still offered complimentary bread service and the "Smoke Jumper" was my favorite drink of the trip. I just wish the steak was better. It was good but I've definitely had better in Vegas and I didn't have to pay this much for it.

We are staying at the Fontainebleau Resort and decided to try Don’s Prime. We were very lucky to have Stacey has our server. She and the support staff were fantastic. All the reviewers are right about this place. The place is stunning beautiful, food is outstanding and staff provide incredible service from top to bottom. If you are Las Vegas, definitely come here for dinner.

Your experience begins when you leave the ultra modernistic style of the Fontainbleu and step into the perfect classic ambience of Dons Prime. Here you are met with professional, knowledgeable and most importantly enthusiastic staff - such a rare commodity in Vegas these days. And now to the food, the bread was fantastic, the snake river wagyu probably the best I have ever tasted cooked to perfection. The sides were interesting & delicious. If you are looking for a restaurant that is at the top of its game, for a special occasion that will deliver a higher than expected quality to value result then we would highly recommend Dons Prime to anybody.

What a fabulous restaurant in the new Fontainebleau hotel! This is now my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas (and I've dined all over the strip and off strip). Everything I've had here is delicious and 10/10 - my favorites include the starter breads, crab cake, chopped salad, and their steaks. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. The staff members are AMAZING and they go out of their way to provide impeccable service and make you have the perfect experience. Shout out to Giovanni who is very attentive and does an excellent job. We will return again and again. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for the perfect evening with the most delicious food!

I went here for dinner on a weekday. Reservations were needed. The bourbon list was good, this isn’t a cheap place to eat. The shrimp cocktail was absolutely great. The bone in rib-eye was also pretty solid.
A Vegas fine dining must do
Amazing from start to finish. Great ambiance, great service and mos of all, fantastic food. The filet was some of the best I have had. This is a must do if you would like the classic steakhouse experience with a finer edge. I can't wait to come back.
