I visited Dots twice during my weekend in Dallas and both times had great service: one at the bar and once at the couch seating. The cubano sandwich and fries are great too!

Love this place, this is a great night spot with a hip vide. I ordered chips & queso, PB & J fried chicken with sweet potato tots. The Malibu is a great drink to top off a great meal, atmosphere and service.

The wide variety of draft beer is great. I wanted something light and had the chili ancho which was awesome except the toppings which are extra are a joke on quantity--minimal. The crab cakes were not good and would never eat again. The service is haphazard--I understand tag teaming but.... and watch the check--I was party of one and had an overcharge. They are truly VERY dog friendly in the patio.

Dots Hop House is a great new addition to Deep Ellum in Dallas. It sports a gigantic outdoor patio with space heaters for cool days and nights with a beautiful chandelier and plenty of seating. In addition to the outdoor patio it has inside seating as well, but the outside patio is really great! Dog friendly as well outside. This place has about 96 beers on tap along with a full bar and food. I would classify the food as "local Texas" fare. I recommend trying just about anything in the menu...we had hamburgers and the duck fat fries....excellent! The owners are often seen roaming around talking with customers, service was friendly, beers were great..we tried a few local brews, but they do have the "standard" big brewery beers as well. We did not try any of their speciality drinks, so cannot comment on those...we are "beer people", and this place definitely qualifies as a place "beer people" will like. Folks...try this place!

I met a colleague here for lunch. At 11.30a there were no patrons inside or outside which made for an easy, quick lunch. The service and food were both good. I cannot comment on the night life atmosphere but there was a huge outside sitting area. They serve bar food so if you are looking for any remotely healthy option this is not the locale.

Came here to have a cold beer & take in the surroundings of Deep Ellum. The service was not very friendly, but the beer was cold & refreshing. We had the duck fry chips & i think they were the best i had ever eaten & highly recommend. Nice decor, but can b quite noisy not a place to go for a quiet afternoon.

We were headed to another eatery in Deep Ellum but on tge way we stopped in to Dots. The Schmitz burger and Schmitz chicken sandwiches were really fresh and delicios. Our server "Taylor" was great. Sge was very patient and explained answers to all of our culinary questions. Everything is hand /home made. The courtyard was relaxing with fresh air. Can't go erong at Dots!

Dots is great! Rachel makes an incredible drink! The staff is all so wonderful! Great vibe! Had a great night with friends at Dots!

Dot's occupies the skeleton of a former Ford factory in the up-and-coming Deep Ellum district on the east side of downtown Dallas. Part of the property occupies an old industrial building; the remainder is outdoors. There are numerous bars, but all seem to offer an abundant number of brews, and an excellent Old Fashioned cocktail that was evidently the favorite of Dorothy (or Dot, reported to be the mother of the owner). It's delicious and a bargain, especially since one can choose among several bourbons and ryes. The food menu is typical for bare fare, with a few items highlighted as specialties. The double burger is delicious and ample -- isn't everything in Texas ample? Service is cheerful and friendly. Outdoor tables are picnic-style, so it's easy to share the good times with strangers, who we found to be very friendly. It's not high dining, but a great way to kick back in a relaxed atmosphere. For out-of-town visitors, the Deep Ellum area has a lot of similar options. This one is highly recommended.

Went here on busy Saturday afternoon and I think they had about 2 servers for the whole of the outdoor section. There was a about 45 minute wait between us asking for our checks and then leaving. Food and drinks are both very good priced similar to other places in Dallas. Would hire more servers!

Fun atmosphere. Love sitting outside. Great drink menu so many beers. Good food and an added plus is it is dog friendly. Great place to just relax with a drink.

Fun spot to meet friends for drinks and grab a bite to eat! Full bar pouring all the better brands. Great Burgers, fun music!!

The drinks were very strong not watered down like most. My group and I sat in the front on the couches. Staff was friendly and very fast at getting our drinks out.

Fun place! My husband and I met a group of people here last night for a birthday party. Such a cool, laid back atmosphere. We enjoyed everything about the place and will definitely come back!

Unique outdoor space for larger parties/groups to congregate; however, and maybe it's because of that space, service times are kinda slow. Pretty how they light it up at night with the torches and chandelier though.

One of the bartenders was a jerk. (If you’re going to be a bartender you need to at least have a personality). Management was not handled correctly. Never going back to this place.

The place with the huge outdoor chandelier! It's awesome, great deep ellum vibe, good for families, people with dogs, and a nice way to spend a beautiful outdoor indoor day. Delicious chips and queso app, also tried the shrimp added to salad. Very tasty, good service too!

So we ended up here after a long night of bar hopping. It was so refreshing to be able to hang outside and have some elbow room. They had plenty of heaters, and several bars to keep the libations going. Great concept, wish I had one in my neighborhood. From Cornhole, to giant Jenga, people with pets, and a great overall atmosphere. What a neat place to have as a neighborhood bar. I would recommend, getting a big group of friends and going there just to hang out and play games. Nice selection of beers, and good cocktails. Bartenders were busy on a Saturday night but kept the orders rolling so no serious delays.

Great place to hangout with friends and have a drink. Staff were cool and the drinks were good. We also played cornhole.

This bar was awesome. Great place to meet up with friends. We went twice while in town for a tradeshow. Service and food were very good. Would go back next time I am in town.

Party of five sat for 15 minutes and was not greeted or even offered menus for food and drink. Noticed waitress was socializing with friend and could care less about customers. Table next to us was also upset as they could not get check to leave. Spoke to Manager who could have cared less about our concerns. Too many other options in the area. Skip this place if you are in a hurry.

Great atmosphere for big groups who want a fun but more laid back night out drinking. The outdoor indoor type atmosphere is great!

Dots has a good atmosphere great beer and good food. The service is good. Semi busy on a Tuesday night. I will be back tomorrow lol.

We stopped in here for a drink and a bite last weekend and we were pleasantly surprised by the space. Beautiful and spacious courtyard, plenty of TVs and a great selection of beer. The Loaded Fries were an instant hit. Our server was beyond friendly, even when everyone ducked inside during a quick rain storm! That would annoy most staff, but she was great and accommodating when we ran back out once the rain stopped and picked up right where we left off. I would absolutely go back here again!

Three of us girls went for a Friday lunch. I had the special cool summer salad with watermelon, arugula, feta and a wonderful dressing. Really great salad. Not on the menu. Great waiter, great place. We had fun. Highly recommend.

Just wandered into this place in the Deep Ellum district and what a great find. Big open patio perfect for kids, dogs and relaxing. Inside a long bar is the centerpiece of a big open dining room. Great atmosphere and decent pub grub menu.

Dots is located in the Deep Ellum or as I found out South Elm in Dallas. It's a great spot in a very cool location surrounded by other bars and restaurants with live music; but not every night. Great selection of beer and simple but tasty food. I had the Love Me Tender chicken strips that were made with a peanut butter and jam BBQ sauce. The location was fun with a huge outdoor area with a giant hanging chandelier. I hope to go back on my next trip.

Big open air space, lit up at night. Can get really crowded so you may have to squeeze into a table. Cannot go wrong with the duck fat fries. Watch out for your cute shoes...floor is all dirt and your feet will be filthy. Cowboy boots however worked like a charm.

What a great find and recommended by the equally great local sweet shop guy ( which is well worth a visit ) This is in the old Ford factory so some history along with your huge variety of brews from light to heavy strength the variety is amazing and wait staff know their brews Food was well priced and good to go with the beers Wish we had found it earlier

Great selection of awesome beer! Also a decent selection of yummy bar food- Definitely recommend the Duck fries! Really nice bartenders that were not brain dead!

This is a cool place, large courtyard area with lots of seating areas. Great friendly staff. Very large selection of beers.

First time reviewing. But felt I had to. For some reason I was refused service at this bar. At least the manager was supportive of her staff, I guess. They could however give no other reason than my eyes being set low for reasoning to refuse me service. I've never been treated so poorly. If you have a slight buzz on you may want to skip this place. Because you may not be served.

A friend and I decided to stop in at Dots for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised from the atmosphere to the service to the delicious burger. What really stood out was the amazing cheese fries. The location is great with a spacious bar area and a wonderful outdoor patio with huge chandelier. Very interesting side note is that on the patio is the exact location marked with a plaque where the border between the City of Dallas and the City of East Dallas once was before they where combined together.

Went for lunch on a Friday and not busy like on weekends. Had to ask for menus twice after beverages on table. Claim to be known for burgers well paid upcharge for bacon and never got it. Food took way to long for not being busy and the check took so long did not even notice I was charged $2 for the bacon I never received. Ice tea was cloudy and bitter even with sweet and low. Will take guest to see the huge Crystal Chandelier hanging outside but forget eating.

We stumbled upon this bar while walking around the Deep Ellum area. There used to be an old Ford Factory (which the building is still there) across the street. Dots used to be a showroom for the cars so a few decoration paying homage to the Model T can be found in the bar. Tons of beers on tap and a variety of specialty cocktails. There is also a large open area patio you can also sit as well if you don't want to be inside.

The bartenders were rude. The beer was good. You get what you can while in town. Should be more polite to your guests instead of rude pricks.

Stopped in while in the neighborhood. This was one stop on the bar hopping agenda. The place was packed with people watching the hockey game. A tad loud with volume but a friendly atmosphere. Good servers and good drinks. We had desert and drinks. Prices were not too bad. A HUGE outside area with drinks and games too. Well worth the stop.

99 beers on tab! Fabulous friendly atmosphere with a large patio area that has corn hole, Jenyga and lots of tables. Seating from leather couches, pub high tops tables and picnic tables.

We loved this place so much we went twice! They have a great outdoor area and we loved the ordering system - order on your phone and they bring out drinks and food. They have cornhooe and some other yard games as well

Had Dinner and drinks while a concert was going on across the street at the Bomb Factory. Great seating with a view of all the comings and goings at the concert. GOOD burger and really good fries! Drinks were awesome and well mixed! Definitely will go back next time I'm in Dallas!

Visited this bar with a group of friends during a weekend in Dallas. The outdoor space is awesome here and there are plenty of bars and beer carts so the wait is never too long for a drink. Shots were a little expensive, but our group probably didn’t need them in the first place to be honest! Friendly service and quick entry in a fun part of town. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic atmosphere. 90+ beers, ciders. An absolute mountain of fries covered in cheese. Definitely make time for this one.

Stopped here for a quick appetizer before finding dinner. We were walking by and the courtyard looked super intriguing. Server was awesome and friendly and the place is set up for groups to hang out. We sat in the outside courtyard and it was nice to note that my white pants didn't get dirty even sitting outside. This place is super dog-friendly which didn't bug us at ALL (they're such good doggos...) but might freak some people out. The bottle rockets (suggested by the server) were DELISH. Would definitely return!

We were walking around Deep Ellum one night and saw Dots, and loved it from the minute we walked in. It has both inside and outside areas, with dog friendly areas outside that were just really great. Friendly table service and people were all happy eating and drinking talking to others and with their dogs being involved... loved it. Night time the trees outside are all lit up, and even a chandelier hanging bringing a fancy taste to the place......recomend.

I only drank here - didn't eat - and, truth be told, found the service kind of cold. But their Larry Chimeade frozen cocktail - a boozy version of the drink from Sonic Drive-In - gave me life on a day of record-breaking heat in Deep Ellum (it was, no kidding, 110 degrees). In more moderate weather, the patio/yard beside the bar looks like a fun place to hang out.

The beer selection is immense with ample variety. I was able to drink a few different pumpkin beers, with local beers offered as well. But u can assume the beer is going to be good when u see all the taps behind the bar. What u need to know is that the food there is unbelievable. Hog wings — awesome! The chili — just get a bowl and thank me later! Enjoy this place! Oh yea, nice tvs for game viewing as well. Some friendly trash talk during mlb playoffs

This place is AWESOME! Outdoor courtyard, over 100 beers on tap (yes, they also have non beer choices available) We were here on Friday night and it was packed and had a great vibe. We went back again on Tuesday and it was pretty dead (4 people in the place) Not sure if this is typical (it was raining) or if it's just busy on the weekends? Regardless, great service, great beer selection, and cool outdoor seating area!

This place is awesome, it's huge and has plenty of community type seating & the courtyard is huge--if you'd rather be inside, plenty of room in the bar too. Would return for sure wasn't too pricey compared to some other slots on the Main Street. I'll be back for sure

Everything is bigger in texas - this includes the selection of beeers on tap. At nearly 100 beers you can keep trying till you find one you like. The food is greasy but complements the beer well. The staff were friendly and attentive. The outdoor courtyard is spacious and made for a pleasant evening on a mild Feb night. Overall: a very enjoyable experience.

I came to Dots to watch the World Cup final. It seemed like a pretty cool bar but unfortunately they won’t serve you without ID, even if you’re closer to 40 than 21. It’s not the law in Texas, just company policy. As a tourist who isn’t renting a car, I don’t carry a copy of my licence on me and I’d never walk around with my passport - sheer common sense. I have a photo of my passport but that wasn’t good enough. It was a really disappointing situation and certainly not one I’ve come across elsewhere in Dallas, including at another bar last night, or anywhere else this trip. Sadly, the non alcoholic options numbered three. For such an inflexible, bs policy, they least they could do is properly cater for tourists caught out by it.

This is a fun place to go at night, and it is usually cracking like Nabisco. They have a lot of fun things to do, like outdoor pool, bags to name a few. Seating differs in all areas, but they have picnic styles tables outside, a lot with traditional seating inside. The drinks were mid-range and they do a good job of coming around with servers, getting drinks at the bar wasn’t too bad as well. We went here two nights because it was so much fun. I would highly suggest popping in here.

From the UK and looking for a great bar and this ticked all the boxes. Colin was super friendly, helped us choose for the 99 different beers available and was a pleasure to speak with.

This is a fun casual bar that i highly recommend. The inside is not so big, but the outside is huge with numerous park benches and chairs to lounge in. Plenty of games outside as well such as pool and corn hole. The attraction of course is the beer. When you walk in there is a giant chalk board with about 100 beers all color coded to denote the style. service was fast and friendly Highly recommend

What a unique bar! It is big, with a variety of seating options. You can sit "inside" or in the courtyard under the gigantic chandelier! They have a huge variety of beer on tap and their "beer board" is big too. This is a great place to go to try a lot of different beers and to people watch as well. There is food available, but we didn't have any on this visit since we had just come from dinner. I would definitely go here again! It's a great place to bring out-of-town guests too!

cannot have both. Food is to die for. please order ipa with the burger. thats how it should be. Service is okay.

I was very impressed this place. A nice calm crowd where you can sit or stand and have a drink that is priced pretty fair. This is a great place to go with a large group and hang out at during a nice night.

Bartenders and wait staff were super nice and knowledgeable. The beer selection is second to none and we were helped in making our decisions without judgement! We only had the firecracker rolls and the fries in duck fat, but we enjoyed both. Great atmosphere, would return in a heartbeat!

Beer selection is absolutely insane. If you like craft beer, this is the place for you. Great outdoor vibes when the weather is nice
