This is literally one block away from the Residence Inn Riverview where we stayed. The food is delicious, especially the Ube Milk Tea.

Holy Dumplings!

Amazing! My son brought us here for dinner our first night in Portland. My friend and I had no idea what a wonderful food experience we had in store. We over ordered, because we wanted to try a little of everything. The left overs were great later that night. Service was fast. Fun atmosphere. Looking forward to eating here on our next trip to Portland!

Very satisfactory experience

I was surprised at how authentic the Chinese food was at Dough Zone! The taste of everything was great, the choice was amazing, and the service was excellent! This place would be a good alternative to Ding Tai Feng…even in Taiwan or China…and Ding Tai Feng has been my favorite! Highly recommended!

Nice Surprise!

We stumbled onto this place when taking a daytime walk on the promenade along the Willamette. It looked modern, clean, busy and very inviting. We were new to dumplings, so gave it a try. The wait was long and it looked like they were not using half of their tables. We assumed a labor shortage. Once seated, we ordered sushi style, marking items on a slip of paper, which our server picked up. We thoroughly enjoyed our cucumber salad, chicken and veggie steamed dumplings and pork Q BAO. The prices were also very reasonable. Service was prompt and friendly. Paid right at the table.

It’s nice to see the space finally filled after years of vacancy. It’s down on the waterfront of Portland’s Willamette River. The restaurant is clean, spacious, with a professional, friendly atmosphere. The food lives up to its name of every dish having some sort of dough. we had traditional soup dumplings with pork and crab with a Korean style, pancake. Tasty and enjoyable for a light lunch.

Bao and noodles

Spacious restaurant facing the Riverwalk. Widely spaced tables so never felt crowded even at busy dinner hour. Friendly staff, Varied menu. Excellent noodles with beef

No vegetarian items on menu

Their vegan and vegetarian menu items contain meat or meat broth. Beware of what you order. Items labeled as vegetable on menu have chicken broth as an ingredient.

Great Dinner

Delicious dinner and the Dough Zone. Favourites were the Soup Dumplings and Dan Dan noodles. Service was quick and friendly. Atmosphere was inviting and beautiful, overlooking the river. Definitely a 5* experience!

Gorgeous location along the river with delicious dumplings!

The location along the river walk is outstanding. We were seated near the giant windows overlooking the water. The dining room is beautifully decorated in a minimalist style and the menu was more extensive than expected with noodle and pancake dishes along with dumplings. We enjoyed a variety of dumplings and pancakes, which were all very tasty and filling. Prices were reasonable and service was extremely friendly. We were not in a hurry and did not feel rushed during an enjoyable and relaxing lunch.

Slow poor service

Waited 15 minutes for a seating when there were numerous open tables. Three parties came in and were sat before us with no reservations. Once sat, another 10 minutes for service. Menus are QR code which can be difficult to navigate for such a menu. Food was good, but not great. Came in odd waves for a mid size party making sharing awkward. Won’t be back to this location in Portland.

Everything we ordered was delicious

Went with coworkers for lunch and we sampled a little of what everyone ordered. The Q Bao were delicious. Tender pork filled and melts in your mouth. Pork with crab soup dumplings were a hit with everyone. The chicken pot stickers were good. And I even enjoyed the banana naan bread and I don’t like bananas. The service is quick, friendly and the place has a nice view of the water. We’ll be lunching here again.

Could be/ should be better

Food was just average and some dishes were disappointing. Service was great and the ambiance is very nice. Finding parking was not an issue

Newness Likely Reason For Being Busy

Mediocre Asian dumplings and such. Not quite Dim Sum but sort of via menu style selection. Wait was initially said to be 35 minutes but actually was an hour. Somewhat slow service and a skimpy menu. Hot oil on table was tasteless and was lacking any flavor. Food was bland and uninteresting. Square toilets, no toilet paper and no hand towels.....WHAT THE HELL!? Bare bones decor. This place is in the location of the now gone Lucere and it wouldn't even classify as a storage room in the Lucere restaurant.

Got some Dan Dan!

Due to my schedule I did takeout. I was not disappointed. The cucumber dish was probably the best I have ever had! The pot stickers were equally amazing. The Dan Dan noodles were the right amount of spice! Glad I had the opportunity to try this place even if it was takeout.

Great dinner spot on the river

Loved the choices, we had a little of everything! The pork filled bao were so good we ordered more of them. Great casual dinner spot.

Maybe Try One More Time

For weekday mid-afternoon with a lot of staff wandering around, the food was slow and it was difficult to find our waitress after our food was served. The green onion pancake was quite good. The fried wontons with chili sauce only came out after we had been served and finished all of our other food. The chili sauce was weak and disappointing. The braised pig's ears were fine, better with a bit of vinegar. The Hot and Sour glass noodles were very, very good.
