You need to try corn meal crust pizza!

By Craig B |

I liked the pizza very much. I hadn't had corn meal crust, and it was very good. Great crunchy texture and taste. My wife and I shared a sausage pizza and the topping included peppers and was quite good, and they didn't stint on the meat. We also shared a beet salad that was delicious. The location next to a mini mart isn't great. The service was fine, but it seemed to take too long to get the pizza cooked. Would definitely come back, though.

Tiny place but good food

By skormama |

Ordered the Pesto, quattro formaggio, and corn pizzas. The cornmeal crust was very interesting and not doughy at all. The smoked mozzarella on the corn pizza was a huge winner. The restaurant is not well signed so we drove past it the first time. Our server seemed like she couldn't have cared less about us. Service was also slow.

Amazing pizza, unique ingredients!

By tiedrose |

Stopped in here on a recommendation, though its not very well labeled. It was packed!! It's nice that they allow you to get a slice, half or whole pizza- customized! We had a corn and smoked mozz pizza with sausage on the cornmeal crust and it was to die for! We didn't wait for a table but had a glass of sangria while we waited and it was amazing. Definitely try this place!!!

Pesto Pizza was awesome!

By Kelli M |

We ate here while on vacation, while it was hard to find at night in the dark, it was well worth driving around the block a couple of times! We had the pesto pizza and it was awesome! The crust is delicious! The service was good, very friendly and checked back a few times when it was busy. Only wish it was states away and we could go back more often! Highly recommend.

That pizza crust is to die for! WOW!

By veqan |

I can't recommend the vegan pizza at this restaurant enough - the pizza crust is made from corn and just makes your belly so happy - it is definitely something that I still crave many years after my first initial visit and something that I always go back to in Portland - plus the restaurant is a bit more "upscale" than the rest of the vegan restaurant options in Portland making this a lovely spot for dinner with a date - just be ready to eat everything! Haha

Cornmeal crust and a restaurant small enough to make it desirable to order on the phone and take it home. So being a transplanted Chicagoan I had been searching for the wonderful corn meal crust and here it is. You can pick it up entirely cooked, partially cooked or hope the crowded misses the restaurant and you can get food there. Get a red sauce, white sauce on a cornmeal crust is sacrilege.

Wow, different pizza than ever. Loved the creativity. I'm not used to,this type of pizza but loved. Atmosphere is really cool, but then its Portland

Cornmeal crust!

By Robbie B |

Cute decor, interesting drinks, and outstanding unusual pizzas make this an above average pizza experience. I have a thing for hibiscus tea, and SURPRISE it was available here! the corneal crust was crisp, almost a little too sturdy, but flavorful. Every pizza sounded amazing, so we settled on doing a half and half, corn and sausage and veggie in order to taste at least 2. Salad was pretty standard mixed greens and vinaigrette dressing, but portion was large enough to share. I would definitely recommend it!

Pizza to die for!

By MzPolly |

Our visit to Portland 2 weeks ago included a stop at Dove Vivi for pizza. You can get pizza with cashews, corn, balsamic vinegar caramelized onions, pesto—plus other ingredients one doesn't usually associate with pizza. Well, with the unusual and delicious cornmeal crust, any one of those ingredients makes this the best pizza I have ever eaten. I cannot even pick out a favorite because they are all so very yummy. I must say the goat cheese and pesto and corn/onion do rank at the top of my list. Then there is the cashew. . . . and well, you get the picture. Salads? The Kale salad was wonderful. No time or room for the beet salad, but I'm sure that one is top-notch as well. Plus there are always a few daily specials. With variety like this you can come back again and again and never tire of pizza. They sell by the slice too, so you needn't tie yourself down to one choice. Here you can have it all! The staff is top-notch as well. Smiling, friendly faces—what more can you ask for? Well, for me I'd ask that they were closer to my home. Unfortunately I live 1,176 miles away in West Allis, Wisconsin. DO visit DOVE Vivi when you are in Portland! You'll be back again and again.

a rare 5 star review

By Christopher A |

I think this is the best pizza in town. There have been 3 different pizzerias through the generations in this building, and they use the same old gorgeous cast iron wood flame oven. The pizza is is truly extraordinary. The vegan cashew is just so comforting and yummy and filling. Get an extra piece and bring it home and it's extraordinary at home. The staff is always truly friendly here. And the beer is great. Parking is not great, but they've gone the extra mile such as putting warming lamps by the outdoor tables and you can wait there and have a drink while waiting for a table. Go early and no line and it just smells like a wood fire and yummy spices. We really like this place, if you can't tell already.

Best beet salad and pizza yet...

By Golflady2010 |

After attending the golf show a friend and I Googled Portland's top eight pizza places and Dove ViVi was our selection. Got there right at four o'clock on Saturday. Ordered the beet salad and it was truly the best I have every had, full of walnuts, beets and blue cheese, very yummy. Then we ordered 1/2 sausage and the other half goat cheese with roasted tomatoes and green peppers. The quality of the sausage was great and had fennel added. The corn meal crust is what makes their pizza unique. It was fabulous and we will be back for sure. Excellent pizza and service. They also had great beer from a McMinnville brew pub that hit the spot!

Crust, yes. The rest? Not so much

By Eliza-in-pdx |

I love a good cornmeal crust, and this place delivers that, but I also like sauce, and they don't come through on that end. Only some pizzas even have sauce, which we discovered after inadvertently ordering one that didn't and therefore wasn't that great. The ingredients were good, though, so we gave it another shot. The pizza "with sauce" meant a few glops of paste-like sauce put on top of the cheese. Didn't cut it for me.

Hard to find but best pizza we've ever had ...

By Deb G |

Dove Vivi was recommended by my boyfriend's daughter and she did not steer us wrong. We loved the cornmeal crust! We had the corn pizza which was the best pizza we have ever had; we even had our leftovers for breakfast and it was equally amazing. Find Dove Vivi and eat here!!! If only we didn't live on the east coast ...

Corn meal pizza

By beatricea146 |

Corn meal pizza dough was a different type of pizza I will say yes to again and again. Coming from the Philadelphia area I've never had it and it was amazing. The place is small but on an August afternoon it was amazing to sit outside order a pie or two and enjoy. The price was a bit high but it was worth it!!! Service was great and so were the sangrias

Unique spins on a classic

By JLucky34 |

Small, quaint pizza joint on the corner of NE 28th & Glisan. Love their flavor combinations, the pesto one and the sausage/corn ones are best IMO. The cornmeal crust is delicious...but I guess you get to a point where you crave a more NY or classic crust. Can be dry on the palate (even though it is cooked well).

Yummy pizza!

By bula110 |

had a half wild mushroom and my husband had a half pepperoni. Both pizzas were delicious. I'm not sure if they claim to be Chicago-style or if people just say it's Chicago-style because of the "deep dish" but this is NOT Chicago-style (we're from the CHI); however, this is as deep-dish are you're going to get in Portland and I'm pretty satisfied. When I have deep dish actual Gino's East, LouMalnati's or Giordano's, I end up feeling fat/bloated/greasy/nasty because all the loaded cheese; however at Dove ViVi's I left feeling full and still pretty healthy. We waited maybe 10 minutes at the "bar," had a drink, seated outside. It rained briefly before being seated so we were able to enjoy the fresh rain aroma (um.. only Portlanders can enjoy this, huh?). Unfortunately, a couple of random guys started pestering us while we were waiting for food- but I won't get into that. Food was great!

I always bring guests or family to Dove Vivi when they visit. Actually, I mainly call in the pizza and kale or beet salad. Awesome food, but the service is a little slow. Not necessarily bad - it is just laid back. I live close enough where I just call in the delicious pizza and pick it up. Love this restaurant and corn crust pizza. Check them out!

Best veggie pizza

By Linda D |

One of the best veggie pizzas I've had anywhere. Add corn for an additional treat. Love the corn meal crust. Salads are fresh and good. My husband gets the goat cheese pizza and he swears by it.

Heaven

By easyb0621 |

While visiting Portland with my wife, we discovered this gem. My wife still talks about it every time we have pizza anywhere else and wishes we could have Dove Vivi deliver to us in Miami! A must on your visit to Portland.

Such a treat!

By Mary Ann S |

We went here after some friends told us about it. I was concerned that the cornmeal crust would be heavy as I prefer thin crust. It was not heavy but was very flavorful. My husband had pulled pork on his half of the pie and I had corn with balsamic glazed onions. Delightful. The salad was also very good. I wanted to try the date pizza that my friends told me about but apparently it was a special so not available all the time. We will return.

Favourite pizza

By signupscott |

Tried this pizza for vegan option and was not disappointed. Was really good and wished we went back again. In a small plaza but do not judge by location as it is really good quality and cozy inside. I believe it also asks that people do not use cell phones in some areas which is nice touch.

Love at first bite

By vampiregran |

I can't make up my mind what I liked best at Dove Vivi - the pizza or the salad? Both were delicious. There were 3 of us in attendance. Two of us are vegetarian so majority rules on the pizza toppings. We stuck to the menu and ordered three half pizzas. Those were the Corn, the Goat Cheese and the Pesto. This was perfect for three people, as each pizza half was cut into three slices. We started our meal with the Beet Salad, which was amazing. Lots of perfectly roasted beets, smothered in blue cheese, toasted walnuts on a bed of fresh greens. The shallot balsamic dressing was so light and perfect. Then our pizzas arrived, hot and beautiful. The corn meal crust is a welcome new-to-us riff on a pizza base. My taste buds were expecting a tamale pie experience, but it wasn't the case. I also thought I would have to eat it with a knife and fork, like my companions and other dining patrons. Nope. I took the first two bites with the utensils and then thankfully abandoned them to dive in with my hands. I'm sure if you have read other reviews about Dove Vivi, you know by now that the crust is what sets this pizza place apart. Oh, if you order a flavored San Pelegrino, make sure you ask for a glass. Mine was plunked down at the table in a can. No glass, no straw. Strange. We had a short wait at 5:30 on a Saturday night, about 15 minutes. When we departed there were quite a few people in the small waiting area and outside. So go early if you don't like waiting, especially outside in the mini mart parking lot. But do go and try this delicious pizza experience.

Yeah, It's Different ... But Over-Rated

By JasperMarks |

My wife and I tried pizza from Dove Vivi this evening to enjoy while watching Downton Abbey. We ordered a vegan pizza and two salads. I must say, the first shock came when the bill came to more than $40 with tip. Seriously. My thoughts as I was driving home with the pizza and salad were that this better be great. Our first disappointment came when I opened to the salad box to find a massive lump of oil-soaked lettuce. It did appear that at some point during the evening that lettuce must have looked and tasted quite fresh. But alas, there was our lump of wilted, disgusting greens. Did they ever think, even for a moment, that the dressing should go in a separate (recyclable) container? The best part of the pizza itself were the roasted tomatoes. Really quite good. As for the rest of the of the pizza, well, so what. It was kind of on the sweet side, not something I would normally hope for in a pizza. The crust was OK. Um, that's about as good as it got. For my money, when I want a corn crust pizza I'll order from Portobello. Much more artfully crafted, more complex flavors, and far less expensive. Oh well. Nothing ventured nothing gained. I can cross Dove Vivi of the list.

A nice take on Pizza

By Bruce B |

We go here quite often, the pizza is made with a cornmeal crust, and there are meat and non meat options. You can get a slice, or a pan of 6 slices. They will split a pie, half one topping, half the other. This is not fancy dining, but the food is quite good, great salads, good wine and beer selections and a good place to fo. Lots of locals

Overrated and overpriced

By NVP04 |

Thought we had to check this one since it was voted on the Web at the best of Oregon. Small menu, only 2 items come with meat. Wonder if it's geared to the vegetarian crowd. Crust was made of corn meal. It tasted good when it's hot, but turned somewhat crunchy when it got cold. Overpriced because it cost $25 for a 12' pizza. I could get much better pizza with that price.

Unique plus!

By MerlinTX |

First, I can see how this is called pizza but it really needs another name. It's just so different from any standard issue pizza style. Obviously you've read the crust is special, and it is. We had the corn pizza and the veggie pizza, both very, very good. My beet salad was very tasty too. The service was excellent, people friendly, and overall we had a super dining experience. I love places like this. Local gems hidden in the neighborhoods. Just added it to my list of places to eat when I return to Portland.

It's about the crust

By GOBEAVS96 |

Corn Mel crust pizza. We live near this restaurant. It's a true Portland neighborhood place. Can be a LNG wait. Or call ahead and order to go. Wonderful beet salad. We like the "corn" pizza. Yes it's "gourmet", but not over the top gourmet. Situated between a dry cleaner and a convenience store, this unpretentious spot is worth the trip to Portland's East Side. Walk to Migration Brew Pub nearby or check out the bar scene on NE 28th between Glisan and Ankeny Sts. while you wait.

Incomparable Pizza

By cleanandsimple |

Best pizza in Portland with a variety of fresh options at each visit: choose from meats or basil or peppers. Hearty, thick and handmade. I ate my first kale salad here years ago: truly delicious. Cozy and warm, yet maintains a private ambience; outdoor seating if you are lucky. Charming wait staff. One of our favorites.

Amazing vegan and nonvegan pizza

Had the marinated olives and wild fungi pizza made vegan. I'm in love. Super cozy setting with a couple drinks on tap while you wait

Yummy Dinner!

Love the quality of pizza. It's really a full meal. We love the corn and balsamic pizza. The cornmeal crust is hearty and the toppings fresh. Great services.

This is a 5 star experience

their suce is a REAL tomatoe simmered one, just as wonderful as everything about this exceptional restaurant. Loved it and will be come back here allot.

It's a must-go.

By Gayla J |

I always make a stop here when I'm in Portland- this place is the best! I don't even like corn that much and their corn pizza with onions is my go-to order! It's sssoooooo delicious. How do they find corn that sweet?!? Also, I live in NY and am writing this from Chicago so I feel like I've had a lot of great pizza in my life and this is just an entirely different experience. YUM.

Some of the best pizza I've ever eaten

Tasty Corm Meal Pizza - Great Gluten Free Option

By Mary P |

Pizza was delicious - we ordered 3 for 7 people. The pizzas are medium sized but it was too much or 6 adults and 1 six year old. Optional Toppings are unique - but very yummy!!! We had 3 different pizzas: Sausage Classico, Corn, and a Pesto pie!!!All were very filling and most of the adults ate only 2 pieces which was sufficient for us. We also ordered a Kale Salad and a Beet Salad - both were delicious!

Great Hippy Pizza! Best Pizza in town.

Very Unique Pizza

By DreamsOfMyComrades |

Let's begin by saying that my wife and I are from the NY/NJ area and VERY fussy about our pizza. This is not by any stretch of the imagination a traditional pizza. But what it is is delicious. The cornmeal crust and deep-dish style of preparation are what makes this pizza unique. Started with a tasty kale salad and some beautifully seasoned olives. We shared the sausage and peppers pizza, which was just delicious. Great toppings and excellent sauce. I tasted my nephew's pizza, which had corn, smoked mozzarella, and balsamic-marinated onions...what a great flavor combination! We visit Portland once a year and I will definitely put this in our regular rotation.

Try the salads and the corn pizza!

By Cami B |

The service is not super quick, but that is because everything is made to order. The service was so friendly and helpful. The pizza is some of the best I have ever had. Fills up fast, so go early or plan on waiting.

Fresh from the garden pizza

By PaulalovesPortland |

Took the family to try the cornmeal crust pizza at Dove Vivi and loved the deep dish crust and all of the fresh toppings. It's not your ordinary soft crust, but our family all agreed that is was very delicious. Garden salad was big enough to split between two of us and the service was super friendly and accommodating.

Unique and delicious.

By Linda D |

We had the corn and veggie pizzas. The beet salad was yummy. Options on a slice, half or whole pie was a nice surprise. Delicious. We will return.

Pizza with a twist

By Aconcagua2013 |

I tend to review more hotels than restaurants on TripAdvisor, but this is one is worth the effort. One of my favorite restaurants in town. Small simple menu. Pizza is not really pizza, but delicious. An interesting blend between a quiche and a pizza, with a corn flour crust. I usually order the quattro formaggi pizza but almost all of them are exquisite. The vegan nut cheese pizzas are good too. Salads are very good. I like the plain green salad, with a great dressing. I highly recommend the dandelion and rudock soda (by fentimans) and for dessert the lemon chocolate truffles by local chocolatier RX, simply delicious. On the not so negative side, the place is super small and very crowded, even on weekdays. The waits tend to be long and the tables are on top of each other. I recommend to go early, around 4-5pm when things are quiet or order to go. Not cheap compared to regular pizza, but it is very filling and you end up eating 2 slides top.

Excellent Pizza

By jackwidely |

Title says it all- excellent pizza! in a little strip mall with parking right in front, a trip to Dove Vivi is easy and well worth it. we started with the Cherry Salad which 3 of us split and fought over the goat cheese and cherries. Nice to be able to split pizzas so we did 1/2 Olive and 1/2 eggplant. the other was a full size special-- FIG PANCETTA mozzarella, blue cheese, fig jam, house-cured Italian bacon, dressed radicchio, as they described it. 2 pizzas are enough for 4 people without issue. the wait was only about 15 minutes during the dinner hour which was perfect once the salad was gone. All agree that the Olive was our favorite. Nice tangy taste with each bite. the Fig Pancetta was next favorite with the sweetness of the fig just right. the eggplant was fine, but not to exciting. maybe the pieces should be smaller or sliced? but that isn't saying it wasn't good. leftovers were taken home for breakfast. the pizzas are a bit thick (a good thing in my opinion) and have a wonderful corn crust which we found sweet and crunchy. Beer and wine and softer drinks only. NO PLASTIC STRAWS!!! nice metal ones used instead. good call folks! wait to get a table was just a few minutes. sat indoors, but outside seats were also available.

Unique food in a unique place

By DStin0731 |

Pizza we sampled in this neighborhood restaurant were tasty and distinct. When you go, you will no doubt have a different experience than we did, and that’s what is special about Dove Vivi.

If I could dig a hole and live inside this pizza I would

By VeritasAzure |

This restaurant has a very unassuming location in a sort of strip mall set up, but the taste was first class. The flavor combinations and the cornmeal crust were delicious, unique and well priced. I'd highly recommend it to anyone in the East Portland area.

Inventive Pizza with a Sampler

By Jeff F |

In a family of foodies, my son took me here. Crunchy cornmeal crust pizza, very different from anything I've had before. Another very unusual feature -- we had the chef's special, which consists of a pizza cut into 12 sections, 2 each of 6 different pizzas. So, even though it was my first visit, we each got to try 6 different pizzas -- all very good. With the cornmeal crust, the pizza is quite filling, so one chef's special was plenty for the two of us.

Cornmeal Crust Yum !

By VOgirl |

We live on the westside of Portland in the suburbs, but are willing to travel for the great food here. It's just a little neighborhood place, next to a dry cleaners and quickmart. We don't care about the "ambience" because we are more than satisfied with their pizzass. If you want to feel like a native, go to Dove Vive which means"where you live" in Italian.

Unique Pizza Experience

By Katie M |

This is pizza for a more gourmet palate, and a delicious one it is. The cornmeal crust pies are served in a skillet and have fresh-made, seasonal, locally-sourced toppings. For example, on a recent visit one of the specials was a delicious anchovy-escarole, which sounds a bit scary but was amazing. Beet salad, kale salad, multiple veggie options round out the menu. (But the pepperoni and sausage are also tasty and good quality.) Only downside is that the wine prices seem on the high end for this setting and menu.

Pizza with unique toppings

By terry424 |

I am a "pizza addict" and this pizza was one of the finest pizzas that I have had the pleasure to enjoy. The menu items include toppings of roasted eggplant, fresh sweet corn, Eden feta, dry cured olives, marinated roasted tomatoes, cashew cheese, smoked tomatoes, herbed tofu ricotta, roasted red peppers, house made fennel sausage, as well as some more traditional toppings. The crust was corn meal which perfectly complimented the sauces and toppings. We ordered the "chef's choice" which is a selection of six different slice combinations chosen by the chef. Our six selections were over the moon with taste combinations that I have never experienced before. The friendly and helpful staff assisted in our selections of wonderful salads. We enjoyed eating at the outside area, especially since we could avoid the queue for inside dining.

Oh, the roasted corn and caramelized pizza!

By BarefootBuddies |

Best pizza in town. Only open for dinner. Delicious side salads.. especially the beet salad. Yumm. The pesto pizza and the corn pizza (when in season) are the best. Service can be very slow. Go before 6 or after 7:30. It is a small place with terrible parking.

Great take out

By Sara R |

This was a recommendation from the innkeeper at our B&B. I had never had cornmeal crust pizza, but it was really good! My husband and i shared a whole pesto pizza with sauce on the side. The pizza didn't come with sauce on it and the side of sauce was more like crushed, fire roasted tomatoes. Not what we expected but very good!

Absolutely the Best!

By Lbjcartier |

I come from Detroit and Tucson and know good pizza. Now I know one of the Best is in Portland. We had the Pepperoni and also the Corn. Both were flavorful, we couldn't decide one above the other because they both have the knockout cornmeal crust. This place is a must to try

The tastiest pizza ever!!

By Paul P |

I was previously in Otto Pizza in London and was told about dove vivi so when I went to Portland with I simply had to see the birthplace of it all! The staff where super friendly and even though they were super busy they managed to fit us all in. It was worth s 5,000 mile trip from Scotland! Delicious pizzas, great variety of toppings and it's even possible to have a six slice pizza with different toppings on each slice!

Cornmeal crust, new pizza twist

By Glen W. R |

Ok, loved it. Got the Chef's Choice pizza which was several different varieties on one crust, thoughtfully cut so each of us got a slice of each kind. What an awesome small shop! Pretty busy too so we weren't the only ones who had discovered this place. I'd recommend it for the gritty cornmeal crust and flavorful varieties of toppings.

one of top 5 pizzas I've ever had.

By YogaCookie |

I am a gourmet pizza huntress. Dove Vivi meets all my requirements for great pizza. Organic crispy but not too crispy corn crust, locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, Tasty tomato sauce, & an appropriate amount of cheesy goodness. I went in solo tonight & thanks to the staff, felt right at home. I was a little leery of paying 25$ for a 12 incher, but its more pizza than you think, & the quality and taste makes it worth every penny. I was stuffed after 2 slices and I came in famished. This is my new favorite pizza place in Portland fo sho.

Very good pizza at Dove Vivi but a little different from Naples pizza

By Razorfish |

My wife and I ate at Dove Vivi with our daughter and her boyfriend when we visited her in Portland this past September. We had seen Dove Vivi featured on the Food Network, possibly on Triple D, so we wanted to try it out when we came to Portland. My daughter was familiar with it. We waited about fifteen minutes for a table to open up inside but we finally gave up and took one of the tables outside. My wife and I ordered the pizza with the fresh corn and added sausage. My daughter and her boyfriend ordered the vegan pizza. As mentioned in numerous other reviews, the crust has cornmeal in it. The pizza is deep dish and has a good amount of ingredients. It is not traditional pizza like Naples pizza, but it is a very good gourmet variety which I enjoyed. We took home the leftovers and enjoyed it again two days later in our hotel room as we watched the Razorbacks versus Rutgers football game. I don't know if we will go back to Dove Vivi later this year when we visit our daughter because there are so many places that she wants to take us but I would like to return again.

Not your generic pizza

By Rikki N |

I've been to Dove Vivi several times and each time I'm surprised at how good the pizza is. And the kale salad is awesome. Since I live in an outlying town, I have to drive miles to get there, but it's ALWAYS worth the trip. I swear next time, I'll order an extra pizza as I love the crust (it's kind of savory crunchy cornmeal ... yum!) and the fillings are always interesting. Love the corn and cashew but the meat and more standard fillings are also wonderful. It's great warm, but equally delicious cold the next day. The space is crowded and noisy but the service is generally good. Plan on parking close by ... there is almost never a place in front.

Pizza so Good you want to move in and marry the cook!

By Eduard_Pineiro |

What a find in Portland, Oregon. This little out of the way bistro is not really a pizzeria, or a restaurant, but more of a place where flavors meld and become one with your soul. It's not fancy, but the pizza they serve is unlike anything I've ever experienced. I had the vegan roasted red pepper with cashew cheese, fresh sweet corn, caramelized onions, chives and smoked tomatoes. To call this "pizza" is a sin for it's all that and more. Salads are VERY fresh and the vinaigrette on both my garden salad and her beet sald was a wonderful mix which only added to the meal. (Don't forget to order the marinated olives....they're also to die for.) IRA beer on tap was a great find and is from a local microbrewery. (By the way, wait until you take your first bite of a cornmeal crust!)

Slightly non traditional but delicious pizza

By TJSullivan |

I had never had cornmeal based pizza crust. Yum. This is definitely a thicker pizza -- not quite "Chicago" but thick -- 1 pie will satisfy two adults. Four of us had the pepperoni pizza which was terrific, not at all greasy and with tons of taste and a hearty amount of meat. We also had the corn pizza (doesn't sound like a traditional pizza, I know) and added sausage. This was DELICIOUS. The environment is super casual. Great selection of adult beverages. I wish they had a "please wait to be seated" sign at the door, because one employee lightly chastised us for seating ourselves (hey, then step up your hosting game, OK?). But, the waiter we got was terrific, so the experience got back on track. We will definitely go back.

Generous pizza toppings,Healthy choices

By Lynn W |

Whole succulent small tomatoes, piles of veggies, crispy cornmeal crust on their pizzas. Vegan choices. Tender, raw, flavorful, kale salad -perfection! Limited beer selection. What they do offer are thoughtful choices that cover several beer families, same with wine & cocktails. Service -perfection again. On expensive side for pizza but, when you consider the generous, high quality toppings, is priced right and worth the extra coin. This is NOT your 'typical' pizza.

A delightful romantic little French-feel artisan pizza haven. Your date will be impressed.

By BrienaS |

I am still in love with the fact my boyfriend brought me here on one of our first dates. The sweet warm quaint candle-lot ambience feels French-inspired to me, despite the Italian fare. Warm wood tables decorated with candle lit mason jars and tiny bunches of flowers are only a small token of detail that make this place one of my favorite spots in Portland. Not to mention, the food is amazing, bursting with amazing flavor combinations. The kale salad and corn pizza are amazing! Come. Bring a date. Prepare to impress. Prepare to be impressed.

Don't like the crust

The toppings used here are excellent. But, I don't really like the crust. It wasn't satisfying for my pizza craving. Additionally, the pizza is very expensive; it's very small for the price. I also would've preferred if I could choose my own toppings. They had great ingredients, but the pizza choices didn't really have all the toppings that we wanted. While the crust kills the experience for me, this place tries hard and is good quality. The dining room is tiny, but the par-baked take out option was nice.
