We were in SA from out of state and stumbled on this place because we had visited the Grotto nearby and were hungry. The service was outstanding, the patio lovely, the burgers amazing and the house salad dressing and chips were divine.

Dont miss this place while at the Pearl - just across the street and has great food, a large dining area and a fabulous patio to relax and listen to music while enjoying your favorite food and drink!

So, let me start with we had a large group with us. So, I was expecting it to take a while, don’t think I was quite expecting a 4 hour event. I will say, the service was excellent, they were packed, and seemed maybe a little short staffed. Their drinks are so fun and creative. We got several appetizers for the table, and surprisingly the garlic toast was the biggest hit. Now for the meal, please make sure to come ready to eat as their portions are huge (yes, I know, everything is bigger in Texas, but the size of my side chopped salad was the size of my head). The steak was very well cooked, and the lemon butter added a nice little surprise kick. I would definitely go back, with a much smaller group.

We went to lunch with some good friends. We ordered fish tacos and burger and the food was very good .

Down on Grayson is a very popular, crowded, noisy restaurant next to The Pearl. It has great ambience and a good reputation so we ventured in and had a late lunch. We both ordered chopped chicken salads that were very average as the chicken was a little tough and chewy. An appetizer of brussel sprouts would have been very good had they not been overcooked causing them to taste slightly burned. The food is fairly expensive and I don't know if we will go back given the innumerable great choices in the area.

My friend and I went here on a Saturday evening and they were moderately busy. Upon arriving, we asked to be seated outside, given a wait time, and then had a drink at the bar. After our number was called (about 30 minute), we were told that the “fire tables” outside were open seating - something that would have been great for the hostess to inform us of before we waited for a half hour. After being seated, it took about 15 minutes before a server came to help us. The aesthetic of the space is really nice and the food took this from a 2-star to a 3-star. The sliders were really good and I would recommend them. It is a shame the service experience was such a let down because it could have been a really amazing evening.

Food is great, service was great! Love the outdoor area and the vibe inside the restaurant! We love the Pearl District!

The best part was I was able to take my dog and enjoy visiting with friends! The waitress was very attentive and made sure my puppy had a water bowl. We shared sliders and fries and had a few drinks with old friends. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Close to the Pearl. Very happening place!

Stopped here for drinks and a snack around 3pm. They have a great outdoor courtyard. Our server Brandon was fine, but seemed very nervous to serve us (Covid I guess). We ordered a Stella and A Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary had bacon strips and was a great mix. We tried the Shishito peppers, which were very good, but a little too hot for my wife and just way too many for two people – good for 8 probably. We also tried the double dip (very small portions of dips), which was guacamole, chips, and jalapeno pimento cheese. The chips were warm and very good. The Guacamole was pretty good I thought, but my wife thought tasteless. Anyway, great atmosphere at least.

We went for a family birthday and we received the worse service possible. Checked in with the manager about our party size, within 15/20mins the same manager said we never checked in and that it would be another 30/45mins if we wanted to sit inside. So no problem we sat outside then we were seated with the worse server ever and I mean ever…she was not very friendly nor was she even attentive to our needs ie drinks. She took forever to serve us our food then took even longer to bring us our ticket. Then we asked for the managers name along with our serve so we could be sure to acknowledge them on the website and of course they declined as I am sure they knew the service they provided us was S**t. To say the least I have shared my experience with friends and family to not waste there time or money at this establishment as it was definitely not worth it!!

Down on Grayson - Fabulous food and service. Parking is a HUGE Issue for the unaware, non-urban visitors. It is no fun to get a Parking Ticket and Penalty in the mail. I doubt I will return.

This restaurant is great inside and outside. The food is scrumptious and the drinks are great. Super clean and modern. Love this place! For us the best time is Christmas; the lights are beautiful and inviting.

Even when it’s in the triple-digits, their outdoor patio is packed. They have huge fans and misting hoses, so it remains tolerable outside even when it’s hot. The patio is dog-friendly. No reservations, so go early if you don’t want to wait (it’s normal to wait 45-60 minutes during peak hours). I love their food, especially the fish tacos and the chicken & kale salad.

Had a business lunch with a colleague. Good food at decent prices, had the char burger, which was really good. Really nice wine list at decent prices.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in The Pearl District. The atmosphere is very causal chic. The menu has very good options for almost any taste bud. I enjoy eating there fish selections. They always taste fresh and are seasoned to perfection. There specialty cocktail menu is one of the best in the city. My personal favorite is the Greyhound, which is a blend of Tito’s vodka and fresh grapefruit. Very refreshing in the summer heat. The service is outstanding, the staff is very attentive. Great place to go if you are looking for a trendy place to hang out.

Food is above average taste wise. Great ambiance especially the patio. Revolting prices for drinks. It should be illegal to sell Mimosas over $5 per small wine glass. The price for their mimosa is $9! It’s good for a one time experience.

This restaurant in the Pearl District was on a friend’s bucket list. Tried to get in the night before but crowded with a long wait. Came back for lunch the next day. Very nice restaurant with large outdoor seating that fills up fast. Service was friendly but a little slow. Might have been short staffed. We tried their signature burger Char King, Sliders, Fries and Onion Rings. All were excellent. I thought the food was well prepared and very good. I recommend you give it a try when in San Antonio’s Pearl District.

Visited Saturday at 5p..busy...but not to bad of a wait. Had the fish tacos, excellent ..very flavorful. Portions are quite large and could almost be shared w an app..not 5 stars because of the service. Server never checked back, we 1st bought a $45 bottle of wine, and when we wanted another ...no one around...oops...missed a nice tip on that one...had to chase down server for everything...food 5 stars ...service needs work...will try again, maybe an off night or new server

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here. I had the grouper sandwich and he had the filet. Both were excellent! We love this location, they have a lot of seating outside which is nice on a sunny San Antonio day. We look forward to our next visit.

We went one night last week for a business dinner and sat outside. The food was great and our server was good as well. Check tout.

We bought beers at the bar and sat down outside to wait for our table. Very relaxing environment. We ordered chicken nachos for appetizer, chimchurri steak strip, reuben sandwich with cole slaw, roasted brussel sprouts and onion rings. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!!

Four of us had lunch here on a recent weekday--we arrived a tad before 11.30AM and were seated inside (outdoor seating as well) immediately, but by the time we finished it was pretty packed. Located in/near the Pearl District, there is plenty of parking under the bridge. The food was amazing--huge salads and tasty sandwiches. We started with an order of Parmesan Fries, and they were awesome. We ended up taking hold home, the servings were so abundant. Cool bar, creative drinks, and lovely decor are added bonuses. Recommended.

We had a nice fillet. You have to order potatoes (fries, not baked) or vegetables separately. We tried the strawberry cake and the coconut cake, but appearance aside, they were only average.

Wonderful place to eat. The environment was super, staff were awesome. Everything we ordered we loved. The steak was out of bounds!! Well done. Check them out if u haven’t already

This is a trendy restaurant in The Pearl district. Very nice menu, friendly staff, nice decor. Felt very safe eating there during COVID19 pandemic. Offers indoor/outdoor seating. It's a walkable distance from The Riverwalk (about 2 miles). Highly recommend.

Our San Antonio friends invited us to dinner at Down on Grayson simply for its menu variety and location near the Pearl Brewery district. Down on Grayson is a nice restaurant with comfortable dining either inside or outside. It was crowded the night we visited. Food is quite good, we had a JK Club and Crispy Chicken Sandwich for dinner. Best was the Chocolate Sheet Cake with Blue Bell ice cream for dessert. Yummy! Wine by the glass was good, as well as ice tea. Ample parking across the street. Service was a bit slow, I believe our waiter was new. Something for everyone at Down. Enjoy!

Good was very good! (Peminto Cheese, bacon, ham sandwich and Fried Chicken) service was slow. When attending to you they were great, but out of sight out of mind. Would have definitely like another glad of wine but after 15 minutes of being completely finished with my meal, I decided to pass. Will try again next time in San Antonio, maybe it was just one of those days.

Great atmosphere! Seating indoor or outdoor. Excellent food and alot of it. Great service. Great place to meet with friends to catch up!

Everything is wonderful from the service to the food. It is a wonderful location. All the food is fantastic with good portions. You will Love it!

The sandwiches are HUGE - more than enough to share btwn two people. Loved the guacamole appetizer served with whole grain bread. Even though the place was full - and there were people waiting to be seated - the staff didn't rush us through or make us feel in any way uncomfortable for lingering over our after lunch libation. Reasonable prices for the amount of food that's piled on the plates!

We had a dinner and a lunch here during our stay in San Antonio's Pearl District. Lunch was very crowded, but we found a seat at the bar. I had a Carnigie Deli Pastrami sandwich which was excellent and huge. My wife had a kale chicken salad which she enjoyed. When we came for dinner, I had excellent fish tacos and my wife had a Ruben sandwich. High quality food and excellent servers.

I found this restaurant’s ambiance to be excellent, just a cool place. The food was good but not anything spectacular. Three in our party had sandwiches and one had the nachos for main courses. We started with the Shishito Pepper that was actually the highlight of the meal. The veggie sandwich was very good, the Cuban average and the panini average. The nachos were like no nachos I have ever seen – and I don’t mean tht in a good way. They are basically one layer of chips smothered in a flavorless melting cheese. IF you get anything from this review – stay away from those. Drinks we good. Service was adequate. With all of the restaurants in San Antonio to select from, this would not be a top level choice for me.

I had high hopes for this place based on reviews and recommendations by locals. However, our experience was less than desirable. We stopped by on a Saturday night around 6PM. They indicated 45-60 minute wait. We were able to find a seat to wait outside with lots of other families. However, upon watching the operation, it became clear just how inefficient they were. There were no less than 5 empty tables at all times, and another 2-3 needing cleaned off. Maybe a staffing issue, maybe inefficient process to get people seated. Once we were seated, it still took forever to get drinks, appetizers, and food. It took about 30 min to get an appetizer and then probably another 15-20 to get our actual meals. The food overall was just mediocre at best. My husband got the chicken, which was a large portion, but just ok. I got the panini which was pretty good. The onion rings were delicious as an appetizer, and came in a large portion. Refills on drinks were slow like everything else. The patio space is nice and was full of furry friends, which we liked, but I’m just not sure I would go back.

Met some friends there for a Wednesday lunch. We had the pimento cheese and guacamole appetizer. It was some of the BEST guacamole I've ever had and though I've never liked pimento cheese, this stuff was GREAT. They give you plenty of tortilla chips with it. I ordered the charbroiled burger. They ask you how you want it cooked. Very large patty, small bun. They use a TREMENDOUS amount of cheese. Too much for me. Had to scrape some off. Diced Tomatoes applied thickly also. All in all a great burger. This fries cooked well done - my way!! Plenty of seating both inside and outside.

Just had a quick business lunch at,Down on Grayson. Great casual atmosphere and a fantastic crispy chicken sandwich. Get there early for lunch!

My husband and I decided to eat here while visiting the Pearl Brewery area. The atmosphere is very relaxed and calm with a nice outdoor patio eating area. The food we ordered was good, and the meat was cooked to our liking. My husband ate the French Dip while I enjoyed the Steak Kabobs. However, the reason I awarded only four stars is because it did not stand out as great! We had a lovely meal and a fantastic server, but unfortunately this is not a restaurant that will probably stick in my mind to frequent again. If you decide to dine here, you will have a good experience, and I hope yours is more memorable than mine.

Decent place with good prices near the Pearl. About a five minute walk from the Pearl and ten minutes from their parking.

We are regulars here. Always a great experience. Great food, great surroundings and great staff. Be prepared to pay top dollar.

Food was delicious, atmosphere was delightful, service was amiable and exact. There was outside and inside dining. Right near the PeRl and walking distance to the river walk Highly recommend

We happened upon this restaurant while looking for a place to eat lunch. We were given waitress Chelsea and she was wonderful. Very attentive to every need and friendly. You have to try the Crispy Brussel Sprouts-they are to die for! I had the Reuben and it was quite large. I took half of my plate home. Very big portions and it did come with your choice of the side (chips, fries, cole slaw). We were visiting SA from out of town but will definitely be back to Down on Grayson when we return.

Being it was Sunday and a busy day at The Pearl, I wasn’t sure we could even get in here. Fortunately they put us at a great table. Our server Marisa was super cute and very attentive. We enjoyed the gazpacho soup which had a nice kick to it. They had a fried chicken special that was incredible. All in all, a great experience and we will be back!

Great atmosphere and delicious food. Fresh and creative food that we loved. Great craft drinks also.

My family enjoys everything about this restaurant, the music, the relaxed atmosphere, the fact that they allow your dog to dine with you outside, the food, the cocktails, even the clean restrooms, everything. It’s both family friendly, romantic, and you can even go there solo for a quick bite. Enjoy your visit!

Down on Grayson is located just across from the Pearl and is a great place to eat. With a very inviting outdoor dining area, it's hard to decide whether to eat in or out because the inside is very inviting as well. High ceiling and lots of windows create a bright, warm relaxing atmosphere. I have dined here several times and every dish is outstanding. Cocktail are really great also. There are plenty of choices, starting with the appetizers. The grilled brussel sprouts are the best anywhere. Parmesan fries delicious with a hint of garlic, and the onion rings are incredible z breading is light but tasty. All the appetizers are large enough to share between 2 or even 3 people. Sandwiches are large and tasty. Burgers are juicy and plenty if flavor. This trip, I had the breaded chicken sandwich with spicy cold slaw and bacon added - OMG! My guest had a club - very flavorful and delicious ham, and a cheeseburger. In the past i have had the grouper sandwich, as well as the plate, the Reuben and the steak. Every item is worthy of a review itself! Desserts are plentiful. They are known for their strawberry cake, but I love their carrot cake equally as much. There is ample off street parking. Probably a good idea to make reservations for dinner as this place is hopping

Been there twice this month. Sat at the bar for lunch on weekend. Food is really good. Will go back. Service at the bar was really slow, both times. Try the Rueben Sandwich and Fish tacos. Both are very good. Weekends are busy, wait times about 15 to 45 minutes, especially outside on nice weather. Seating and food at the bar was available when we visited.

Looking for a fun spot for dinner, this is it! The appetizer with chips, guacamole and cheese dip... so yummy! We tried the taco, the chicken, the house salad and gazapacho... all we tasty! For dessert try the strawberry cake, so moist and 5 of us enjoyed 1 piece.

We chose Down on Grayson mostly because it was open late on a weeknight and we needed something to eat. We were very happy with the choice. We ate outside on the patio, which was quiet and there was a nice breeze despite the heat. The food was excellent, the service was good, and the portions were large. Some of us took food home. Overall it was a lovely experience that I would be happy to repeat.

Love this place I call it my happy place. Great fried chicken on Wed. after 5 (no idea why) and all day Sundays. Succulent and delicious. Other offerings ok. We love to come here an have a drink or two and people watch. Love it.

The popularity of this place is well deserved. I haven't had a bad meal. They are very accommodating even when we bring the baby. As a matter of fact, they are family friendly which generates a very happy, lively atmosphere. Sit outside where the sprinkler fans can keep you cool or get a table inside. Best news - if you go early and there's a wait, you can give them your number, stroll through the Pearl and they'll text when the table is ready. We love the Brussel Sprout appetizer which can easily feed four. Have split a Caesar Salad and it was yummy. The corn is amazing. I had a Reuben Sandwich on Mother's Day and it needed more sauerkraut to suit my tastes but everything else, including my son-in-law's burger was was perfect, why quibble? Service outstanding, too. Bravo for them.

Ryan was our server. He was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu. He was very friendly and extremely attentive to all of the tables he was attending to. This was my first time at this restaurant and because of you I will tell others to dine here. Thanks.

Awesome burger, very relaxed place with great service. Came with friends and family and had a great time. The place is very casual and offers most of outdoor seating.

Have been going here for years but like another reviewer stated, I received a letter in the mail saying I owe $45 for parking in their lot which I’ve always done and clearly states for guests of Down On Grayson. So I’m a little confused as to why or how I violated parking. I wonder if the restaurant and parking company are in on some kind of scheme. Anyways, as far as dinner goes the food and service are usually good be we had a waitress that never put our order in and we waited for a while until anyone noticed we were just sitting there. The food also was not as great as I’m used to. Maybe this was a one time incident but all in the same night we don’t like the service or food and get fined for parking in their free (3 hour max)customer parking. Granted you we didn’t take any longer than an hour to eat as quickly as we could and get out of there. And I’ve been disputing the parking violation with Metropolis parking even showing them my dinner receipt and screenshot of Down On Grayson parking policy but am being told it’s not sufficient evidence and I should have had my parking validated by the restaurant…except there are no parking tickets to validate!

So, you won’t believe this but trust me, it happened. I sit down with my son today for lunch and we order the double dip. It shows up and it’s waaaay to salty. Like inedible salty. Like if I took a second bite I’d blow up like a blow fish salty. So, the waitress comes back and I tell her in the nicest tone possible that the chips are too salty and she just looks at me....wait, what? You can fix the problem by bringing me less salty chips but she says that’s all they have. So I hand her my cc and say we’ll be leaving and she charges me $15.47 for an untouched appetizer and two full cokes. Wtf just happened?

We were in town for a couple of days and got a recommendation to try this place and I'm so glad we did! The service was great food was fantastic! Portions seemed large but most people wouldn't complain. Overall a great cute place for a quick bite to eat

We loved the location and adorable space of Down on Grayson. The menu is priced very reasonably, with a great wine list and handcrafted cocktails. The service we received was not great though. We waited fifteen minutes for our drink order to be taken, no refills, and sat for thirty minutes after finishing our entrees- waiting for our server to ask if we wanted dessert or our check.

My wife and I have eaten here before and it was great. This evening it was even better than anand I ordered the and I ordered the chopped con which was awesome. The Parmesan fries were great. Paul did a great job and our whole experience was awesome.

My wife and I stopped in here for lunch. Great outdoor space and the drinks we really good. Food was great, especially the skinny fries. Great spot if you are visiting the Pearl area. Risa offered some amazing recommendations and was very friendly and informative.

Had a very nice lunch staring with the tortilla soup and followed by a chopped salad. The food was very good and the service spot on. I would go back again.

Joe was my server. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He kept our table clean. I highly recommend the Parmesan fries and sliders.

Friendly service, good drinks and pretty good ambience... Plenty of places to sit outside or if you prefer, A/C cooled inside. I'll be back here again!

The atmosphere is casual with plenty of seating. The food is fantastic. The proportions are plenty (you might need a people’s bag to take leftovers home. We had the carrot cake as it was for the celebration of my birthday. Our waitress was MACIE. A true gem. We wish to thank the staff for their service and delicious food. We had the chicken sandwich and Tia salad. (warning the Tia salad is spicy hot😉

I ended up sitting at the bar because this restaurant was a little bit populated! Was greeted by a wonderful gentleman working behind the bar who stated he worked there for three years. He engaged in conversation with myself and coworkers. I definitely recommend the cucumber Martini or the jalapeño margarita he did a wonderful job making it and making sure that our drinks were made perfect!

Met a business friend for lunch. Great location by the Pearl and nice restaurant. Had the cob salad which was good and my friend had the kale salad. Hard to get a great indicator from salads, but they were good. Service was efficient and enjoyed our visit. Only downside was indoors was full and we sat outside which was hot even with the covering.

One of the best at the Pearl. Great food and drinks. Both outside and inside are fun. Well designed and excellent menu.

We enjoyed a few drinks and a bite under the trees on the beautifully landscaped patio. They’ve got you covered, regardless of the weather, with plenty of heat lamps and fans. Quality service and eats. Will be back!

Thursday evening during the 1st Thursday Farmer’s Market at Pearl Brewery District ... 5:30p no wait with quick, pleasant service inside. They have many seats choices inside & outside for both the bar and restaurant. Party of 5 with drinks and entrees was reasonably priced with a great menu selection. All drinks, appetizers and entrees were quality; no issues with special requests. Enjoy!!

This was one of our favorite restaurants while visiting San Antonio. Clearly a lot of people agree because it was rather crowded. The food was great and they had inventive cocktails.

Wow the best chocolate cake dessert we have had in TX, mom had soup and dad had crispy chicken sandwich. Fries are tiny like shoestring type. Service was on tap.

I was in town for work and met a friend here and overall it was a great time. The server was very friendly and took great care of us. The food was good and they serve large portions. The only bad thing was a fly that would not leave us alone. I guess it likes the food too. I would eat here again.

We ate here on a Sunday, early evening. Were told that the wait would be 20-25 min, it may have been 10 min before we were seated in the lovely outdoor area. There are both fans and heaters for varying weather. I had the fish tacos and the vodka/grapefruit cocktail, both were delicious. The outdoor area was pet friendly. The others in my party had the Caesar’s salad with chicken and both enjoyed. The service was fast and friendly. Restaurant is in the Pearl district close to river walk.

Very good food, with a variety of choice on the menu. Servings are too big, but this is Texas - we haven’t seen a place where portions were not outrageous. Fresh qualité products. Great setting and very big terrace, for when the weather allows for it.

It was busy and crowded, Sunday afternoon, day before Memorial Day, well the bar seemed to be more crowded than the sit down table area. We were seated right away. Half booth as I would call it. It is a younger crowd and of course young wait staff. We split a roast beef sandwich with fries as we had dinner reservations for somewhere later but needed something to keep going! The sandwich was actually plenty for the both of us, even though we are big eaters. And we were able to get it half rare and half well done. The bread was ok, the meat was moist, had a nice flavor. The French fries are thinner than a dainty baby finger, thin sticks, they were extremely salty, knocked the salt of a few of them, they did have a good flavor. So one sandwich, one ice tea, one ginger ale, $28.15. Nice decor. I told the Laci, the sweet waitress: I just have to ask, what’s with all the dog pics in the ladies bathroom, I don’t see where they “fit in”, she smiled said she didn’t either! Then she did tell us that this restaurant is a “sister” to a couple of restaurants in Gruene! But now, I might “get it” down on Grayson - D O G!?

I ate their Saturday with some friends. We started out with nachos,on so good, they put lots of cheese on the. I ate the turkey sandwich, so filling and big, I was able to take half of it home. If you order deserts, they are big enough for two. Over all the quality of food is superb.

Wife and I ate here with her parents this past weekend. Short wait while we had a marvelous bloody mary with bacon, etc Good food. The anticuchos, marinated beef shish kabobs, were outstanding as was my wife's chicken - kale salad.

Our small group of four arrived and were met by the hostess immediately. We were put on a what list and waited about 20-25 minutes. Our waitress was great. Food was outstanding and atmosphere was comfortable. TV's were on, but not loud. They allow dogs in the bar area and outside.

I heard a lot about this place and we decided to check it out. We sat outside because weather was perfect and what a nice place to have a dinner outside. All plates was great I had a club sandwich plate which was a one the best ever I had. chicken parmigiano plate was looks great too . Drinks was a little bit over priced and okay for quality but in general I'm recommend it for sure.

We went to Down on Grayson twice during our visit last weekend. Dinner the first night, which was busy but worth the wait. They have a decent amount of room to have a drink and wait for your table, plus you can get apps to take outside or eat at the bar. Then Saturday we returned to watch some college football, which is not necessarily an easy thing to do in The Pearl. Ask if they have the Frozen Mohito available, it's so delicious!

We went on a Saturday night and there was a 45 minute wait which is to be expected on a weekend. It was very pleasant sitting outside and it’s really a cute area.

Recommended during our San Antonio visit. Excelkent food. We (9 ppl) were seated outside with great surrounding atmosphere The food was very fresh. Waiter was a little slow getting drinks to us but they were busy. Do not take reservations. Would return!

This restaurant is located in a great location, right near the old Pearl Brewery. The owners have done a great job of creating an inviting and exciting atmosphere. The restaurant is located right next to the highway, but I couldn't hear a single sound from the highway. The front of the restaurant has a patio with comfortable seating and portable heaters that allow you to hang out and have a drink while you wait for your table. Because the restaurant is so popular, the wait for a table was long (about an hour), so the ability to hang outside in front of the restaurant was a great option. Once we got out table I was extremely impressed with the modern decor. There is an open kitchen where you can see the chefs working on your food. The menu is simple to read, but the food is anything but. I ordered the Char King burger and I have to say it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. I was with a large party (11+ people) and I didn't hear a single complaint from any of them. In fact, all anyone talked about was how good the food was.

We loved it here! Our waiter Tristan was great! Gave us great recommendations (since we were from Michigan). The drinks were fun and our meal was more than what we expected! Portions were great (we had burger and chop con) and the meat was delish! We would highly recommend and the atmosphere was great too! A fun spot to try! Plus they give you validation for parking a win-win! Thank you Down on Grayson for giving us a memorable evening!

We put our names in the queue and then wandered the Pearl area last Saturday night. By the time they called us for a table we were thirsty and hungry--and happily enjoyed everything we ordered at Down on Grayson. The fish tacos were amazing, and the appetizers of guacamole and pimento, and then french fries, filled us up. I ordered the Thai steak salad and it was great!

Excellent management which went out of their way to accommodate myself and my Service dog. Excellent food, great frozen sangria. Outstanding and personable waitress. Everything rates A ++

Great restaurant! The prices are VERY reasonable and the food is tasty. We liked the French Dip ($18, but huge... split with wife), the beef patty with cheese and no bread ($12), the nachos had lots of cheese and jalapeños (mild...striped of seeds and insides), and thin onion rings (to die for). Went twice in one week. Wait staff and maitre‘d (s) were all very professional and friendly. Food came quickly: hot and good. Great American food. You are not going to find the ‘Gucci’ foie gras topped with a robin egg and caviar here. Just really well prepared great food, great service, and pleasant ambiance. Rarely do I go back to the same restaurant in under a week. This one did not disappoint!! I’m going to post this on a couple of sites because it’s really worth it.

Enjoyed eating here on a Friday night. We got in immediately, and service was prompt for the entire meal. My companion and I both had a fish entree which I enjoyed (though a bit on the garlicy side). Menu ranges from sandwiches to more upscale entrees.

Best hamburger I've ever had! Portions are large so you might want to share with a friend. Service is very good.

Nice little spot for brunch next to the Pearl area downtown San Antonio. We had a large party of 11, the server was great, prompt. Courteous and friendly. The food exceeded my expectations as well as all other guests. Nice inviting atmosphere, I will visit here again, next time in San Antonio.

WOW! This place hit all my requirements and exceeded my expectations! The patio is nicely shaded and service is great and quick. Sam (Samantha) did an amazing job of taking care of us. Thank YOU! The Grayson Gimlet is my new fave drink and if you like spicy food as I do you must try the Thai Beef Salad. There's something for everyone and the food is well priced. I cannot wait to go back and am wondering what took me so long to get over to it!!!!! By the way, all the food at surrounding tables and when we were leaving looked delicious. Trust me, I'm going to try it all! Lastly, there is plenty of free parking under the bridge with a short hop and skip to the restaurant.

Have been 5 times during the past year and a half. Crowds and not accepting reservation always a problem but the food and the friendly service always made up for it BUT this time in early June it was a big, big miss. Unfriendly at reception, 1 1/2 hour wait for our large party. Inattentive service and food that ranged from excellent to terrible. Even when the place emptied out we had to beg them to come and offer us dessert. Wrote to the manager and explained our experience and he couldn't be bothered to answer. Was one of our go to, San Antonio favorites and now is merely a maybe.

I ordered the fried red snapper, my husband the steak. Both were really good, cooked just right. The house salad was good, nice that they use butter lettuce. The house dressing was very tart, but I love vinegars. We finished off with cheesecake for dessert, it was so-so.

This is one of San Antonio’s hidden gems. Hidden under the HWY 281 overpass adjacent to the Pearl District, they feature great food with ample portions at a reasonable price. Full staff working - no delays in service. Try it!

The food was okay and way too much per serving. I would have rather liked going here to sit outside and have drinks. Wasn't overly impressed with decor and food.

Nice spot. Ate at the bar because the tables were full. Good sign. Reasonable prices, large good portions and friendly competent service. Great outdoor area but too hot to eat outside today. Recommend you call for reservations if you want a table. Salads and sandwiches are in the $10-12 range. Worth it.

Quick lunch . . First to sit outside but nice day. Love Grouper and found a great grouper sandwich. Coleslaw spot on good balance of acid and a little sweet. Fish tacos must have been more of a culinary challenge. Tasty, but all over the plate.

We split the El Moderno nachos. This is guacamole, pimento cheese and chips. Excellent. The wedge salad enough for three. Very good. I had the turkey on sourdough bread with coleslaw. A winner. The whole meal was!

Great bar to sit at. Good drink and food menu with a variety of options. Bartenders are very friendly and make a terrific old fashioned. Reasonably priced and a fun atmosphere. Great outdoor seating. Would come back.

Intended to go for dinner and drinks on Cinco de Mayo. We knew there would be a wait for tables even at 9pm, so we opted to go to the bar instead. Bad move....we should have waited the 1 hour for the table. We first went to the outer bar, which has about 8 seats. There was one vacant seat, which my wife took, as I was happy to wait for another to open up. The bar was somewhat busy, but not slammed. There were 4-5 bartenders working the entire 30 person bar and the one girl that seemed to be working the outer portion ignored us for about 15-20 minutes. No "hello, I'll be right with you"...or "give me a few minutes" just blank glances three or four times. We decided to move to the inside bar. Once again, there was one seat that my wife took, and I continued to stand. Another 10 minutes went by before another bartender came and saw us. Took our drink order and our app order. We drank, ate the apps and left right after paying with the feeling that the staff was not interested in having us as customers. Honestly, the only poor dining experience we had in San Antonio....We walked over to Cured, and had a nice dinner at the bar with a very attentive young man and woman.

This restaurant was great! Highly recommend if you are in the Pearl area. Definitely try the pimento cheese dip- best I’ve ever had!

Had lunch here on Monday - the service provided by Patricia was excellent. Very prompt and efficient. The food, however, is another story. I had the Crispy Chicken sandwich has a slice of chicken about 1/4 of an inch thick - a spicy sauce is added and then about 3 inches of bread. This sandwich is 90% bread. I removed all the bread and just ate the chicken by itself. Others had the Veggie sandwich - again 90% bread - 10% veggies. I also had the Balsamic Slaw - the Slaw was sans the Balsamic so I ended up with a bowl of sliced cabbage. Only one of us had something was pleasing - the Cobb Salad. Highly unlikely we will ever return.

Literally got food poisoning from this place which sucks cause it’s pretty decent. Recommend staying away from them for awhile.

Our first night in SA. Great recommendation from our friends. Our server, Hannah, was on top of everything. Portions were outrageously big. $5 for a wedge salad which was a whole head of lettuce and delicious. Wife had the Reuben which was very good. I had strip steak with chimichuri. Steak was good but the sauce had too much of a raw garlic taste that was a little too strong. Highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back next time we are in town.

We popped in at 5:30 and there was a 40 minute wait (that would have been worth it) that turned out to be about 20 minutes. The outside seating area with drinks available make for an easy wait. We started off with their Brussels Sprouts, and they were great. The feel of this place is just great. A few TVs here and there but not a distraction. The restaurant is lively but, still a great place to talk to friends without shouting over the crowd. My wife had the fish tacos and I had the Kabobs, both really hit the spot. The kids had the toasted special sandwich of the day and fries and they loved it. This is not our first visit. It is sort of our go to for our of town visitors and meeting friends. Simply put, ya gotta go.

Newer type restaurant than baby boomers like me are accustomed to but different in a nice way. Modern design but comfortable setting. Some unique items on the menu. I had the Groper Sandwich and it was GREAT. Wife had Onion soup and it was fantastic. Place was very busy for a Thursday night. Waited about 15 minutes to get a table inside. Plenty of seating outside but just a little to warm for me and my wife. Had a house specialty drink called the Spicy Margarita. Taste was different but good. Only draw back was the jalapeno seeds in the drink. Kept having the pick seeds out of my mouth. Wait staff was efficient and friendly. Give this a try when in San Antonio. A little off the beaten path but worth the try.

There was four of us and we all enjoyed the food and drinks and the service was good. We also enjoyed dining in their beautiful outdoor dining area.

Been to this place several times. The food is good, beer is cold and varied and it is a friendly, relaxed place. It offers inside and outside dining, parking is adjacent under 281, avoiding the Pearl crunch and though they don’t take reservations, wait times are very reasonable. Very family friendly as well. The favorite of my San Antonio children and grandchildren.

My son and I went to Down On Grayson for lunch. The place was pretty full, we had to wait for a table for about 20 minutes. The service was very good and the food did not disappoint. My son got a salad, we had the duo chip dip or something like that, it was yummy. I ordered a sandwich that I could not finish. Good food, worth the wait.

Our first trip to Down on Grayson and were hoping to sit outside but they were anticipating rain and closed the out side area. Service was good, food was ok but nothing special.

Great location next to the Pearl. Ate outside on picnic tables on a lovely evening. Burger was well seasoned and cooked perfectly medium rare.

We were really excited about trying out Down On Grayson during a recent ladies trip to San Antonio. The vibe was cute and there was lots of outdoor seating (it was a very nice day!). So, even though we were hungry, we agreed to wait 45 minutes for a table. Once seated, we thought (since we had looked over menus) that the rest of our lunch would go quickly. We were so wrong. We were there THREE hours total. This is great if you have time to kill, but we had a lot of other things planned, and we even mentioned this to the server. It seemed as though the kitchen was severely backed up. On top of this, the food was sub-par at best. I paid $6 for the side of broccolini and was shocked to see I got three measly pieces. Overall, we were very disappointed...AND two of us got pooped on (more than once!) by the annoying birds that were all over the outdoor area. Yikes. Consider yourself warned...

Our family of 15 challenged the restaurant for seating options on a busy evening. Finally, we managed to split our party on two adjacent tables and moved on with dinner. Service was friendly and helpful, but slow. Furthermore, dishes came at different times for different guests, so the kitchen was unable to serve all of us at the same time. Cocktails were well prepared and the wine list was quite nice. the kids menu was quite satisfactory: Mac & cheese, fries, fresh fruit, sliders turkey sandwich and Parmesan fries. The adults shared an order of delicious onion rings, and order of great shishito peppers and some Parmesan fries. All delicious and satisfying. For mains, we enjoyed the Avocado toast, the Crispy Snapper, Steak chimichurri, Fish Tacos, Salmon salad and a New York strip. All dishes came prepared to our specifications, although not all of them made it to table at the same time. Considering the size of our party and 3 bottles of wine, the check was reasonable. All in all, we recommend this place as fun, cozy, with good food and reasonable service.

The food was good. But the parking is so confusing and there's no clear indication of what the fees will be if your validation doesn't work or if your server doesn't explain to do it. I was charged 13 dollars for an hour of parking. Restaurant is rude if you complain about parking charges. They don't care. The parking facility says validation mistakes aren't there problem. And think 13 for an hour is OK. I'll never go back.

Atmosphere: Dining is available indoors and outdoors. If you want to bring your dog and eat outside it is pet friendly. And they do have fans and misters because it’s hot in that Texas heat. Food: I have celiac disease so I can only speak to the quality of gluten free food. But the chips and guacamole was really good. And so was my filet and shoestring fries. Price: I added photos of the menu so you can see items and pricing. I think it’s reasonably priced. Service: The hostesses were great. Except they quoted us an hour wait and then sat us 25 minutes later so I was confused by the huge change in wait. Made me wonder if maybe they quoted longer to see who would stay and who would wait. Our waiter was terrible. He was as fast as a sloth. We had to ask for things multiple times, it took probably 20 minutes to get chips and guacamole, and another 15 minutes just to get our check.

Our server recommended the antichuchos and that’s what I ordered. They were pretty good but tasted a little limey(lime). The chips that came with it were nice and warm and the sauce was good. Overall not bad would come back.

We were given a recommendation of this restaurants and it was spot on. The food is delicious. The wait staff so kind, attentive and helpful. Weeds the pimento cheese spread and it was so tasty. This is a cold southern delight that you must try. We also had the most delightful hamburger. Cooked just like we wanted - grilled with some spices rubbed unto it. The o ion rings were wonderful, thin sliced in a great batter! It was fantastic. We ended with the strawberry cake, wonderful if you like strawberry cake. Parking is easy to find. Facility is handicap access. Both indoor and outdoor seating plus a nice bar with local brews.

Nice atmosphere and very classy . I’ve been twice but can honestly say I won’t go back . Odd they are located in SA yet Hispanics are treated weird its tactful and passive aggressive but im no fool . The nachos had no beans . Who does that ? And in SA. Service was slow and I thought it was very rude that waiter put a huge peice of cake right in front of my cousin and her face lit up thinking it was complimentary for her birthday then he pulled away because he had made a mistake yes we had a cake for her but for such a classy restaurant this was very rude .They took forever with my sons fries . He is two All adults had food except for him . Usually kids are a priority at other restaurants. Sad he was watching everyone eat and we were giving him food from our plates . Finally they bring them out after once we almost done with our meals . No apology or anything .Just sad . No happy birthday to my cousin from anyone clearly because we are Hispanic but jokes on you we are all part Irish . This was my second experience my first experience was months a year before food took forever and our debit card was t returned to us we were put off about it when we called several times and were fianlly told we may want to close the card no apology again no remorse what so ever . Thought I’d give it. Second chance my cousin chose to go here for her bday . Never again even if I’m invited their for a bday I will pass on the invite and just give them a gift or take them to a nice lunch somewhere else . Ps says kid friendly yet there is no kids menu and booster seats and high chairs aren’t even offered .

Stopped in for an dinner. Alyssa was our server and was great. Had the grouper sandwich which was fantastic.

This experience was not so great, we were seated by the bathrooms when there was plenty of tables available by the front end of the restaurant. Our server was ok, she didn’t seem to excited to have us. I ordered the Brussels which came out burnt and the accompanying sauce was Ridiculously hot (and I eat spicy) I also ordered a turkey sandwich which came out with wet and soggy bread. Other es in my party ordered the Anticuchos which weren’t that great, they la led flavor and the meat was tough. We also ordered a sirloin steak mes well which had to be remade due to coming out over cooked and dry, the second stack was not that different but we kept it as others on our party were near finished by the time the take arrived. Not sure what was going on this day, previous visits had been way different but on this occasion DownonGreyson left a lot to be desired.

This place is a great environment with the best food we have found in San Antonio so far and we have been here for 3 days! The service was amazing. You are missing out on an amazing dining experience if you don’t come here.

I ordered the fried grouper sandwich. It was everything good grouper shyness and the coleslaw & aioli made it as good as a real New Orleans Po Boy. Heaven. The fries were perfect-not too thick or mealy but thin and crisp. I doubt I’ll order anything else. Oh, fairly handicapped accessible and clean restrooms too.

Went there for a friend’s birthday and ordered appetizers and drinks followed by dinner. We had the avocado toast and the meatballs with frozen sangrias. They were very good and tasty. We then ordered the house salad, anticuchos and a bottle of cabernet sauvignon. The salad was very fresh but the vinegar and the pepper were on the high side. The anticuchos were tender but had too much vinegar overpowering the other flavors. The tortilla chips were a little oily and the cilantro ranch dip could have used some garlic and maybe avocado to make it more interesting. The service was very good as well as the ambiance.

Cannot say enough good things! Dinner was amazing and huge portions for the price . Cocktails were great! Service was great too. We almost ate here twice! Soooo good.

Took the family while in San Antonio Small wait to get a table but bartender fixed perfect drinks at reasonable prices Once at table service and food were top notch Atmosphere A+ Highly recommend

Outside they have picnic tables with service and fire pits with seating, but no service. We were told we could order food at the bar and take it to the fire pit area ourselves. Seemed like they could easily have service at the fire pit area, but it worked. Bar staff was friendly and helpful and waved to us when food was ready to be picked up. We had the fish tacos, which were very good; the crispy chicken sandwich, which was delicious and came with a huge portion of fries and the roasted chicken, which was enormous and came with a house salad and a side of corn. Chicken was juicy, but on the spicy side. A relaxing place to end a busy day of sight seeing.

This place looks like a little rustic restaurant that serves burgers. However, you do order at the register and they will bring the food over to you after handing you an order card that you place on the table. I came with my boyfriend and his mom. They have surprisingly good burgers. I was not in the mood to have a burger, even though I was starving. The fact that I got a regular cheeseburger, the meat was quite juicy, and the serving protions of the prize was quite large. I am not sure if I would come here on a regular basis, but based on the price and the quality of the food, I give this place four stars.

Came here for an early lunch on a Tuesday. The outdoor patio was lovely - until the food came and we were swarmed by flies. But still lovely. The server was very nice. Food? Meh. Nothing special. Had the fried grouper sandwich with onion rings and coleslaw. Also tried the tortilla soup which, again, was just ok. Go for the ambiance, not the food.

I love taking people to The Historic Pearl. There are great historic buildings, a beautiful hotel, Emma, a fun place for kids to play, great local merchants, an awesome Farmer's Market (on weekends), the river walk and yes, great restaurants. One of my favorites is Down On Grayson. It is a pretty busy place every time I go there and it is first come first served. No reservations. So try to go at an off hour when the line usually isn't too long. I try to go around 1-3pm, but if there is something going on downtown, you still may have to wait. That being said, if you do wait it out, it is worth the wait! Just get a cocktail or wine while you wait. Also beware that the portions are very big! We learned the hard way by ordering some apps before dinner. One we couldn't even eat. The other we ate too much before the meal. Not a bad problem to have but order accordingly. The double Dip is homemade guacamole & jalapeno pimento cheese with chips. This one we took home! The thin, crispy Onion Rings were hand battered and stacked so high, it took 4 of us to almost get to the bottom of the plate. They were awesome.

We love the ambiance here. Friendly and very cool. The food is great; we were a large party and a variety of food was ordered and all of it was great! This is our go-to place when we're looking for something at The Pearl. Everyone that we've taken here loves it.

Went with a group of friends on a Saturday early evening. Started with their Brussels sprouts, wedge salad & onion rings. I didn’t want to stop eating the brussel sprouts, they were so delicious and crispy on the outside (trying to figure out how they were cooked!). Onion rings were lightly fried, not heavy & the wedge salad was a large wedge, enough appetizers for the 5 of us. When our meals came, we hardly ate it, we weren’t that hungry! But we shared their panini (sandwich of the day), avocado toast and fish tacos. The fish tacos were great, the cole slaw on it was crispy and very fresh. Finished off our dinner by sharing the cheesecake, great graham cracker crust and overall delicious! A couple of us had their spicy margarita , it was so delicious and not too spicy at all. We ate inside as it was over 90 degrees. The only complaint was that the acoustics are terrible, so it’s very loud inside and as it got more crowded, it got too noisy. Plenty of dining outside and I saw fans with “misters” so probably not too uncomfortable in the heat. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area.

We chose Down on Grayson for our anniversary dinner, due to the gluten-free menu option, plus we wanted to try a new restaurant. We called ahead to learn about their COVID-19 protocols and to gauge how busy the restaurant might be. We arrived at 4:45 PM for an early dinner and we were greeted by a pleasant hostess and seated right away at a quiet table for two close to the bar. We were waited on pretty quickly with a round of drinks and scanned the QR code on our phones to view the menu. My wife selected the Fire-Roasted chicken, with Corn Off the Cob as her side dish and I, the Crispy Fish (lightly crusted snapper pan fried, topped with an herb butter sauce, served only I swapped out the Cole Slaw for the Corn Off the Cob). Being from Louisiana, I was hoping for a little more "kick" to the sauce but it was still quite tasty. The snapper was incredibly fresh with the tasty garlic & butter sauce. My side dish, Corn Off the cob (fresh cut in house, sautéed with peppers & red onion) was absolutely delicious. I should have ordered another side of it! We didn't get desert because we were full but we'll definitely be back to try the other menu items. The service was great, prices were reasonable and the food and ambience were spot-on for a celebration or any other occasion. I'm glad we picked Down on Grayson. We'll be back soon!

I've been to Grayson more times than I can count and every time I go I get the filet and every time my steak is always cooked to perfection and soooo tender, it melts in your mouth! And the price isn't bad either! Do yourself a favor if you want a great steak forget the other restaurants and go here! I live in another state and wish we had a place like this!

There are a lot of good places to eat at and around the Pearl. The food is s good portion size and has great flavor. Decor is very plain. I would say try it but it might not be your favorite go to restaurant in the area.

In town for a visit, and my Brother tells me to avoid the touristy river walk and instead to check out the "pearl district" for better restaurants. so he drives us out and we find a parking space near Down on Grayson. We wait for a table outside and got seated in about 20 minutes. The menu is not overwhelming with way too many selections. Prices were about right. I had the fish tacos, and wow they where awesome. Three on a plate, A rich, lightly smoked flavor with an avocado slice and cheese to balance the spice. Melt in you mouth. Chantel's service was on point and friendly. Next visit when in San Antonio will include dessert for sure.

Parking validation was a $106.50 disaster! Posted QR code was not working, the table code was attempted and license plate info given to waiter apparently did not validate or register. I quickly received a ticket notice and bill from the rental company. Very expensive outing; will not revisit.

We found this place randomly in the pearl district on google. Wow this place was really great. I ordered the Reuben and it was definitely in the top 3 I have had in my life. The thousand island was amazing and meat was just stacked and 1/2 the sandwich was more then enough. I got Parmesan garlic fries with ranch and they were great. The server was really nice and the atmosphere was great as well. They had outside seating but it was way too hot for that. I would recommend and would return!

We visited this location on an cooler October evening and took advantage of the outdoor seating. The menu is unique and the drinks are all wonderful. Try something new and ask the wait staff what is the favorite. You will not be disappointed. I had the Antiqucho's and they did not disappoint.

We just happened to select this restaurant, and we were so happy we did. The patio is beautiful and peaceful. We ordered pineapple mimosas and fish tacos. The drinks and food were delicious. The server was very attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our time there. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped by mid-afternoon, so it was very quiet and slow. Sometimes service is slowest when it's not busy, and that was a little bit of the case. Best thing ordered was the tortilla soup. Have had it many times at other restaurants, and this is the best presentation and best taste I've ever found. We also had kebab and thai steak salad. Both were great. Ate outside on a sunny day- not sure the heaters were necessary! Love the patio setting, even with all the busy begging birds.

We like dogs....but don't need to be surrounded by OTHER people's dogs while we are eating! How does the Texas Health Dept. put their seal of approval on this practice? Anyway, the server was magnificent for our family party of 10 on a Friday night at 8:30 pm. Understood the kitchen was quite busy on a Friday night but the 1 hour wait between ordering & dinner delivery was really long.....as was the 60 minute wait list. Guess they earn a lot of $$$ on the bar quick service they sell while you wait for a table? Food was great but honestly would never go thru that sort of wait, wait, wait to eat there again.

We have been going to this restaurant for years, since it’s opening and have always looked forward to our visit. We had a nice outdoor lunch on May 30. On June 22 we received a bill in the mail for a parking violation of $49.25! I called the restaurant to talked to a manager because the violation contains no telephone number. I left word for a return call which was not returned. I called again the next day and spoke to the manager, Karen. I explained what occurred and her response was less than caring. I told her we have always parked there free and we thought the signs were for non-diners of the restaurant as in the past. She had no empathy whatsoever. She said we have been a paid for parking restaurant since March. There are signs clearly marking the paid parking. I said you don’t sound sympathetic and I will be reluctant to go there again. She said I’m sorry you feel that way and I hope you change your mind. Her tone was with no sincerity whatsoever. She gave me a 1-856 number for the parking - Metropolis Parking which directs you to a menu and it is impossible to speak to a representative. I paid the parking violation of $49.25, however, I want to warn other long-time diners of this change since servers and management are indifferent to this surprise you will receive a month after lunch! The parking cost us almost as much as our lunch!

Decided to try this new restaurant as we happened to be in that area of San Antonio today. Read their reviews and went for it. It was a busy place being that it was Good Friday and the basketball finals were also being played in town. The patio area was full of people but we chose to sit inside as it was a little warm. We were seated very quickly. Our drink order was taken quickly and our waitress was there by the time we had read the menu and made our decisions. I ordered the double appetizer of guacamole and a pimento cheese with picante mix that came with our tostadas. The guacamole was good, but we were not at all impressed with the pimento cheese mixture. Just didn’t jive together. My husband ordered the fried grouper sandwich and I got their signature burger. My husband said the grouper was very dry and only ate half of it. My signature burger was piled so high with whatever was in it, it was impossible to pick it up to eat Burger style and I ended up eating half with my fork and knife. We never saw our waitress again whom I believe was namedKatrina A (the pregnant one). We sat longer for our check than we did the entire time of ordering and eating! We watched a young couple come in and be seated in our area and after a good 15 minutes or so, after never being acknowledged in any form by anyone got up to leave, where a young man that I believe was a manager was on them in a heartbeat. I watched as the soon to be ex-patron explained the situation to him and left with his family. I believe the waitress for that table was the same one we had. I watched as it was evident that they had employees that kept things clean and running well, but that manager did walk right past our table where I had made it very apparent that we had completed our meal by stacking dishes....but he didn’t stop to inquire as to if we needed anything. Overall, not a real good experience today, maybe we will try it once again and hopefully have a good waitress.

Beautiful place but the WAIT! Waited an hour as we sat outside & waited for our table. Then ANOTHER hour after we got seated to get food! Waiter was great and prices were reasonable. Delicious drinks. But we’ve never waited so long at a restaurant to actually eat.

Took an extra long time to get food. And it was cold, no flavor to soup, buns hard cold, forgot sandwich condiments, and waiter was at the waiters stand in the back with about 5 others visiting while we waited and waited and could not get their attention to check us out.

Located near the Historic Pearl Brewery. Decided to do lunch here during the week. Wait time to sit inside was 45 min, so we sat outside under an umbrella. Boy, was it hot (esp in work clothes). Ordered water with lemon. We started with 'El Moderno' nachos appetizer. Chips were very crisp with fresh guacamole. The batter on the onion rings had good crunch with right amount of salt & pepper. Main meal took about 25- 30 min to come out. Ordered the fire- roasted chicken with corn off the cob on the side. This half size chicken was very moist. Cut easily. Corn had a little too much onion. Meal came with large, fresh house salad with vinegar dressing, tasted pretty good. Food was a bit pricey. However, the portions were huge for lunch. Come early during lunch time, to sit inside. Parking available across street underneath Highway.

Nice spot. I went for the Thai salad and it was yummy. Good spicy beef on top a great assortment of salad items. Great dressing. I also had the chicken tortilla soup. Soup could have used more chicken but it was flavorful.

So glad we stumbled upon this jewel! We were in town for a couple days exploring. Not familiar with Pearl area. We happened to park by this restaurant. The appearance was inviting so we decided to give it a try. Loved it! Wait staff was great! Food was wonderful! Atmosphere is very nice. I personally loved all the flowers in the landscaping! Crispy Brussels sprouts was so good!! Reuben sandwiches were delicious. Cobb salad was also good. Can’t wait to return next time we’re in San Antonio.

the sliders to share or for you to enjoy the Top sirloin, the char broiled burger, the fish tacos are always a nice way to share with friends, then walk to the furniture stores near by, the ice cream places, the bakery or simply rejoice with the Pearl environment and riverwalk

Have been more than a few times. Now every time we go, at least one order is the fire-roasted chicken. It is juicy and yummy and must have. Crispy chicken sandwich, French dip, kale salad and the fries are awesome! Great spicy margarita!

Our server Ho was amazing. What a great guy. Lots of honest drink and dinner suggestions. We can’t wait to go back. We had the Cuban sandwich and a couple of house specialty cocktails. The outside dinning is amazing. I highly recommend it.

Pearl Brewery restaurants were packed on Sat Farmer's Market, so ventures out and struck gold at this restaurant. Everyone in our party loves our food. Happily have made several repeat visits and never am disappointed

I was recommended this place by a local since I had a dog with me. Regular seating wait was 25-30 minutes but I was able to sit right away at their outdoor bar. I ordered the fish tacos which I recommend and apparently a local favorite on their menu. But everything I saw others order looked delicious as well. I would definitely return!

We love this place; the ambiance is superb. The food and service is great. In Fall and Spring we prefer to dine outside; summer is too hot. Christmas is the best. This time I had the Grouper sandwich with Parmesan fries and my wife had the Kale and chicken salad. Outstanding! If you’re visiting San Antonio be sure to eat here and then walk over to the Pearl.

I love burgers !!! I read the reviews and knew I had to visit. I was not disappointed. Maybe the best burger ever. Fries and onion rings were excellent too. Outside seating was relaxing. If there was one in Atlanta, I would be their first customer. You need to try it any time you are in San Antonio.

In town visiting friends and they suggested we meet at Down on Grayson. So glad we did!! I had the panini special with fries and my husband tried the tortilla soup with a side garlic bread. Everything was AMAZING!!! I had read about the 7-layer strawberry cake and couldn’t resist. We shared it with our friends. It was so very good!!

We met some New Braunfels friends here, as they wanted to give it a try and it was close to where we were staying. The variety and unusual food options were amazing. There was no wait, as it was during the week. The staff was nice and our server was great! It is also within walking distance of The Pearl Brewery district, a revitalized neighborhood of a green, apartments and lofts, and other eateries. We liked it so much, we returned for another evening of drinks and appetizers.

Texas size portions- a bit much, but definitely yummy. Spicy margarita with pineapple juice-not grapefruit was delicious along with fried chicken sandwich. We went for lunch. A bit noisy inside and was too hot for outside on the day we went.

Down on Grayson is very convenient to The Pearl area. If the weather is nice, it is fun to sit outside. The food was good - great Brussels sprouts, great grouper sandwich, and good fish tacos. Our service left alot to be desired. Our waiter was pleasant enough but not attentive. It took an extraordinary amount of time for the 3 beers to be served - we wanted to enjoy them prior to our food arriving, not after it arrived. Our waiter was not present enough for us to even ask him about the status of our drinks. We flagged down another server to inquire about our beverages. Once ready to leave, it took a long time for us to find our server in order to get our check. We had a good time because we were there with family and had a good visit but overall I was not that impressed.

Great food and very large portion sizes. We ate outside and it was beautifully landscaped. They had lots of shade and fans outside. The turkey sandwich was big enough to split!

We had a great and reasonably priced, Keto friendly meal here. this place is lively yet private, menu is interesting, a bit different, and very good quality food, at a very reasonable price. they also have a full bar which made my wife a great cucumber martini.

There was a 30 minute wait when we walked in for an indoor table but there didn't seem to be a lot of people waiting. The hostess took our name and cell number on a tablet. We were texted 18 minutes later to be seated. Meanwhile we stood by the bar and grabbed a glass of water since it was 100 degrees outside. The bar maid gave us straight tap water and it tasted pretty nasty. By the time we were seated there were quite a few people in the bar area. We were seated and quickly served. I saw that the avocado toast and the fish tacos had some of the most mentions on TripAdvisor so I ordered them. I was debating between these tacos and the fish that the waitress recommended. She asked how hungry I was and then recommended the tacos since I wasn’t that hungry and this was the lighter dish of the two. The waitress, Sabrina, asked me what side I would like and listed my options. I chose the broccolini. Four (half) slices avocado toast, which the menu described as fresh avocado atop toasted seeded bread & sprinkled with salt, oil & chili flakes, came out. The avocado was a spread and it was thick with a generous amount. It had just a hint of heat and smoke which really enhanced the avocado flavor. Our food came out quickly and I enjoyed my fish tacos. The menu described this dish as marinated fresh white fish, cole slaw, fresh avocado, diced tomato, red onion, roasted salsa, lime juoce and cilantro. There was a note that this dish was gluten free. The slaw was just on the sweet side to complement the fish and flour tortilla. I was only able to eat one fish taco! The broccolini appeared to be steamed with a flavorful seasoned oil drizzled over it. It was still on the crispy side, enough that it was tough to cut even with a steak knife. I enjoyed the atmosphere which was bright with lots of windows, the interior was modern with clean lines. I was very disappointed when the bill came and we were charged for the broccolini. I thought that this charge was a little on the sneaky side. I did tell her she should notify customers when there is an additional charge for sides. No apology or offer to remove the charge was made.

Traveling on business, we decided to go here when we happened to drive by. We are so glad we did! Parking is under a nearby bridge and there is indoor and outdoor dining. The outdoor dining has picnic tables pulled quite far apart (I presume for social distancing), so that was a nice plus. We definitely didn't feel crammed together. I had the fried grouper, which was very tasty. The cocktail offering needs some work with a bigger variety of drinks. I had the spicy margarita and wasn't a fan. Still a five star review for me!

Nice setting and friendly staff. Beware if sitting outside pigeons own the entire area. Quite the pest. Didn’t find this problem at other outdoor seating in same area.

My first time to this restaurant the food was awesome the place is beautiful the wait staff was attentive not an overpriced establishment located across the street from The PeArl There is indoor and outdoor seating there is parking next-door under the bridge or on the street someone meters and some free I will be going back

We were waiting for an hour and they had two groups of the same number before us and they only waited for 30 minutes. The staff was very rude. My little sister was starving. Not planning to come back.

This place is the best but, make sure to get here early because it can get quite the line up. Love the avacado toast and, the meatballs are a must!
Great Place for Lunch!
This is a regular lunch spot for my co-workers and I. The service is quick and the food is excellent. I definitely suggest the ceasar salad with blackened chicken, it's my go to lunch here. I've never heard anyone complain about anything they've ordered. We typically get 2-3 orders to go for those who couldn't come. They're always ready to go when we are. Put it on your list of lunch stops.
