Good food and drink

By SteveParryHK |

Enjoy a pleasant few hours with friends here. Good food and drink at a reasonable price. Service was good but beware the queues for the toilet can be lengthy!

Good food, good prices

By Mark43065 |

We were able to get seated right away on a Saturday night. Food was good and portions were large. The bread they bring to the table was also very good.

Great Place For A Drink & Food

By Othaaa |

I met friends at Dublin's for drinks as it is one of their favorite places. I was not disappointed. The pub environment is perfect and the drinks were cold. We did not eat dinner here, but we ordered the Baked Goat Cheese in tomato basil sauce. This was absolutely the best I have ever had. My next visit I plan on returning for a full meal, and of course starting off with goat cheese.

Friday Night

By Richard L |

Had a really enjoyable Friday night in Dublin's. There was a heavy snow the night I went and a really good atmosphere in the bar. The bar food was really good also.

Best Irish Stew

By Iamgoogy |

We lived in Chicago many years ago . Dublin's was one of our favorite spots. They have a terrific Gold Coast location. We went back for a visit 2 years ago. This was a special place we wanted to revisit. We were not disappointed. This place has the best Irish Stew in the states. Can't wait to go back.

Just a reliable spot

By hogiebear33 |

It's just average, but it's somewhere you can get in for a quiet beer in a pretty packed area. Now and again they have some offers so it gets busier, but generally a decent respite from the cold.

Credit Card issue

By Suz_Ray N |

We had a nice time at the Dublin recently. However when it came time to pay we provided a Visa credit card that requires a pin number. The waitress took the card away & came back telling us it was declined, which caused us great consternation. We then provided an American Express Gold card that also requires a pin, which she told us was also declined, raising our anxiety level even further. As I accompanied her to the machine, I asked if it was prompting for a pin . She said it was but their manager said they were not allowed to enter pins. I then asked for the manager. He told me that their bank had told them not to use pins. (I believe the bank actually told them not to ask the customer for their pin. The general practice is for the customer to enter the pin themselves.) It took a while for me to convince the manager to allow me to enter the pin myself. When I did, the transaction was processed and approved and everything was fine. I hope they have corrected their procedure as we are looking forward to going back on our next visit to Chicago.

Hidden Gem for Breakfast

By flower_girl841 |

On a tip from a client we set off on Easter Sunday for brunch at Dublin's. We were hoping it wouldn't be as long of a wait, since we had no reservations. We were right! Got right in. A small unassuming establishment in the heart of Rush Street, it doesn't look like much compared to the Steakhouses nearby, but the food was delicious. They brought out wonderful fresh bread and oil to start our brunch, along with generous Mimosas (a small bottle of champagne with extra OJ for refills), and a solid Bloody Mary with no frills (if you like it spicy ask for extra horseradish). The egg sandwich was great, and the potatoes were amazing. Service was great. Wonderful breakfast spot without the hype of other places, which means you won't have to wait for two hours. Must visit.

A good, simple place, nice finding.

By MoItaly |

We stopped at this place as it was very close to our hotel on our first night. We got to Chicago late and needed to eat something, saw the sign of this place and went in. It's a pretty simple, down-to-earth place, we mostly had burgers, fries and other pub fare. Everything was good, I mean, it's burger and fries... We had a few beers, reasonably price, especially in this area of town (near North) and service was good. I will definitely stop again if I am in the area. Again, it's a simple place, nothing fancy, but if you want fancy you normally don't go to an Irish pub, right? The place got the job done and we were happy.

Great Pub Experience

By Midlifetrippin |

Needed a place to watch the MNF game. Dublin's was close to hotel and recommended. Greeted upon entry and offered a choice of a couple different tables, we opted for a window side location and noted that TV's were easily viewable regardless of seat. Service was super friendly and very prompt. Drinks were ordered and served quickly, despite a significant crowd. Menu is varied with simple pub fare as well as a few higher end items. We opted for typical. The special of the night was a Pub Bison Burger with a fried egg. I opted for this and was not disappointed. Large burger, fresh baked bun, and cooked perfectly. Served with fresh cut fries. When accompanied with a football game and a couple of beers, Dublin's proved to be an excellent choice.

Nice location, pretty good food

By dschick |

My wife and I just stopped in for beer and appetizers. The nachos and potato skins were very good. We added chicken to the nachos. Not a lot of beers on tap, but adequate. We sat outside on a beautiful day. The location is perfect for people watching. Not a lot of room inside, in my opinion. Some TV's but not a lot.

Fast welcoming and good

By Hikestick |

The place was busy but we were given immediate attention and were seated and orders taken quickly. Well managed front of house with quick, polite and helpful service. Food is pub style but there are some good and healthy choices. We enjoyed the turkey burgers and a nice amber ale. Bar patrons did have to squeeze past our little table but we shared some laughs with the freindly locals about it.

Mediterranean Chicken was SO good!!!

By Tracy G |

Was looking for a moderately priced restaurant for good food, not overly crowded with the ability to sit outside. Dublin's delivered! I can not describe how good the Mediterranean chicken was - just SO, SO, SO good!!!!

Great neighborhoody spot in the Gold Coast

By Genericguy85 |

Dublin's is a great place to grab a beer in Rush Triangle. The nachos are really good too. It's just a bit pricey for hanging out a neighborhood bar.

A relaxing choice for a quick afternoon snack and drinks!

By Michael K |

I often stop here for a few beers and perhaps a snack mid-shopping. It's laid back, no frills, and has decent Irish food. The guy next to me had brisket and cabbage that looked fabulous.

great drinks, food, and service!

By MakeupArtist40 |

Super friendly staff.. Great drinks.. Central location.. Menu is much more varied than your typical pub menu.. Do try the Mediterranean salad.. Very generous Portions.. Great as a meal on its own or to share. Fun and lively!

Great relaxing evening!

By sillygirlFL |

Stopped in for a drink and quick dinner to be pleasantly surprised with the service, quality of the food and wonderful atmosphere. This will definitely be a stop on future trips!

Beers OK

By paulsA8804CH |

Stopped for a few quick ones at Dublins it was ok the beer was fine and the food average. The bar itself is a little dingy and needs brightening up a little.

Still a great little Dive off Rush

By Drew W |

I really don't know why but I keep coming back for more, well maybe 'cause the food is the reason....But honestly dude (owner) needs to update here put a little cash into the place or let it go brother! lol Anyway if you decide to go get a table outdoor when in season and the only disappointment might be the service which almost always SUCKS but food makes up 4 it in the end.

Great value, solid food, nice ambiance

By dven8 |

Friendly staff, good service, good food, all at very reasonable prices. All in all a great place to eat at a reasonable price: I will be back!

Cheap in the Gold Coast!

By Schatze |

The food is nothing to brag about but it's nice having an Irish pub in the triangle. Their pasta is good, as are their burgers.

Good place for a drink - food ok

By citybluemoon |

We called in here a couple of nights for drinks and ate there one evening. It's a good place for a drink - nicely busy and some good beers on draught. The food was ok - large portions and typical pub type quality.

Quick drink

By Tony M |

A great locals pub. We popped in for a quick drink & ended up staying for a few, chatting to a couple of locals. The barman was friendly & funny.

Good bar food

By mmpul |

We usually end up visiting Dublin's when in Chicago. I like their house salad, and the veggie sandwich is good, too. Family likes the burgers. Nice place to watch a game - several TVs throughout the bar. It's really more like a sports bar than an Irish Pub. Nothing fancy at all, but a nice hangout with good food for a good price. However, the waitress on our last visit was not great - could try to be more pleasant to the patrons choosing to spend their $$ at your establishment.

Awesome Daily menu specials and Beers on tap

By KTB |

Awesome Daily menu specials and Beers on tap! Great service with a team with personality, Great Chicago home town Irish Pub!

Perfectly average

By Janettravels44 |

Friends had recommended this place which apparently has a late kitchen and so is a favorite of people looking for late night meals when many kitchens are closed. I like Irish pub food but this was decidedly average stuff. It is a noisy dark place. From where we sat the clientele looked like sweet young things being pursued by older men as well as many 40 somethings coming in after work with friends. My fish and chips were just okay. I love fish and chips and if they had been great we would have become repeat customers. Overcooked fries and ordinary fish. My husband's Irish stew was also just okay. And the music was loud. I am sure this is a fun place for many people. Those at the bar seemed to be enjoying themselves. But it is not a place we will be visiting again.

Great Craic - as you’d Expect.

By collavfc |

Close to our apartment in the near north, I knew we’d like this place. The kitchen was busy the first night we went in, but on our second visit, it was flat out. Having said that, the quality and quantity were exceptional. There’s clearly a lot of locals / regulars who come here. They are treated with warmth and friendliness from the staff. As holiday makers we were given curtesy and left both nights glad we chose their bar.

Not and Irish establishment

By James M |

Reco'ed by friends. Virtually no Irish food on the menu but the most disappointing was flat Guiness (too long in the keg?). Clam chowder special was good, the Reuben's average, and the fries frozen from a bag. The service however was good and friendly. There are better options if you want the full Irish package.

Found this place too late

By 565BenJd |

Found this pub on our next to last afternoon in town. Stayed for a couple of drinks and returned the next day for a meal. The best Irish Stew ever. Great atmosphere and fabulous food. Will be returning next time we're in town.

Lively atmosphere

By Travel_Guru_99 |

Not a touristy destination but a genuine local bar/restaurant with a lively and local atmosphere. Food is good/excellent with large portions, service was excellent. Recommended for some beers or casual food. Try the Calamari or Jerk Chicken.

Poor Very Poor

By Alanh1964 |

Just arrived in Chicago for a City break took a small walk around the City to help the jet lag beautiful place the Sun was out and all was good .Call into an Irish pub called the Dublins bar and grill . To say it was poor is an understatement it was terrible . The lady at the door was not very friendly and are waiter actually apologies for her not a great start the lady that took over from her was not much better . I am from Belfast and drink in Irish pubs every week this is no Irish Pub it's a JOKE if that pub was at home it would be closed in a week Never settled for anything less just the best .

Family Meal at the Dublin Pub

By Neil P |

went there as a Family on the 4th Aug , very disappointed , the atmosphere in the place is good but the food left a lot to be desired , bread on the Bruschetta was rock solid , wife ordered fish and chips , what was served were Fish Gujons and Waffle Potatoes(chips) no mention of that on the menu - food seemed to be either microwaved or just fried - not the best

The Food Just Was Not Good

By Jo-Anne N |

My husband and I were starving when we got here and ordered all day breakfast. He had an omelette and did not enjoy it and I had the eggs with corned beef. The corned beef was so dry it was hard to swallow and even the eggs were the pits. The served the toast dry--with no butter even on the side--that was a first!!! We had two waitresses, the first was almost surly--the second was helpful and pleasant. Pleasant atmosphere and great location.

Like the low key atmosphere

By Go-GBP |

Went after a concert Sat nite as it appeared much more low key than the other Rush St alternatives. Good sandwiches and burgers. The beer was expensive, but food was what you'd expect to pay in that area.

Visit Ireland in Chicago

By Grant F |

Love this place, always bustling and a great vibe. If you want to escape to Ireland in Chago, this a fantastic place! Their food rocks too, many traditional tasty traditional Irish fair... ENJOY!

Delicious!

By Jac22964 |

My husband and I eat there every time we go to Chicago. Their Irish stew is the best! Located among the best restaurants in Chicago this little pub is always packed. Bar apps are typical menu and are excellent. Very clean, a local favorite.

Regular

By Guillermo B |

It's an average place, good music, average food, nothing special. The tables were a little dirty and the service is mediocre.

Wonderful!

By Lady-On-The-Go43 |

I was in Chicago Easter weekend and had the opportunity to visit Dublin's. My fiance and I got hungry and it was late at night. The restaurant at Hotel Indigo was closed so we asked someone at the front desk what they suggested and they told us to go to Dublin's. The food and service were incredible! I had the Chicken Vesuvio and it is amazing! OMG! I will definitely be going back there when I visit Chicago again.

Great in town regular bar with great food.

By Mitchell A |

Great location on State, good food and great drinks, Inexpensive and close to a bunch of other restaurants within walking distance to State and Rush Streets

Never again, actually embarrassed by how they reacted and actually escalated the situation more so. 2 staff were awful.

By traveller |

Issue with poor service, tip was not worth what they wanted, manager called over, he reduced it to 15percent, waitress whom we had nothing to do with called us an awful word as she walked away, we confronted her, she was rude, her colleague heard her and actually apologised, actually could not believe her tone of language and how she spoke to paying customers. Whole issue was waiting quite some time for food and drink, and split cheques as colleague were just passing by, they wanted to charge us 18 percent because it was 5 people, there was actually 3 of us, our colleagues paid their own bills as just popped in to say hi and drink too.

Great stop on St Patty's

By MandyVB |

I cannot give it a general review due to the fact that it was their busiest day of the year, but that being considered, the staff was great, drinks and food was good and surprisingly quick. I can see that it is a fun place to get together with friends after work or for a night out. Will definitely go back.

Tiny place, but big in atmosphere & food!

By LCJones629 |

We've been to Dublin's every time that we've visited Chicago. Convenient to our hotel and lots of fun. Not a very big place and becomes very crowded at night, but the food is really good. You can also just hang out, as it has more of a bar atmosphere. Perfect place for St. Patrick's Day.

A dump. Expensive and rude staff.

By Simon S |

Staff with attitude as we were a party of 7. 2 wanted to pay in cash, the rest using card. Staff kicked a fuss about paying by a card so many times !? Quite rude too. Avoid is place like the plague. Drinks aren’t even cheap !?

I’d call it a dive bar

By jimmyk4444 |

Pretty good location as it’s near Gibson’s, Hugo’s Frog Bar, and Tavern on Rush. If you’re looking for a beer on tap, this is a good choice. Of course they serve Guinness on tap. Had some locals beers on tap that were decent as well. We typically belly-up to the bar. I’ve never eaten here before; just drink here.

Traditional Irish Pub

By H K |

If you are looking for a pub which that true Irish Pub charm in the middle of Chicago, I would say this is you traditional community pub. Great pub feel, dated with a little history, and standard reasonably priced pub fare on the menu. We sat inside but I believe they have a small outdoor patio as well.

Reuben Galore

By Malee M |

Fantastic. Friendly staff. Quick service. The reuben was tender and fresh. Place was packed for good reason.

Worth the visit.

By Cathie d |

After a morning of sightseeing Dublin’s Pub and Grill was a warm oasis. Staff were wonderful and the food was great. The Irish stew was full of meat and root vegetables. My husband had the polish sausage with onions rings and was very satisfied. Food came promptly as did our beers.

Don't call it "a taste of Ireland"

By AOMMt_Kisco_NY |

Their outdoor sign reads "a taste of Ireland in Chicago" so our group of five trusted it would be like an Irish pub. The loud rock music gave us a collective headache - definitely not Irish. Two of us ordered the "Irish Beef Stew" - we asked the waiter what was the spice that permeated the flavor and he said "cloves" -- yes, cloves in Irish stew! It was awful, with no potatoes and a few noodles and 3 little pieces of carrot. Two others ordered fish and chips - breading on the fish tasted slightly used; the chips were soft and cold. One got a cheeseburger which was OK but with the same limp chips. We wasted our time and money on our too-short visit to Chicago.

Great food

By Beach_divalicious |

Whose from the outside Dublins may not look like much, the food is actually quite good. I have had several dishes in the menu and never was disappointed.

Good

By Benny S |

This is a very nice and cheap restaurang close to magnificent miles in Chicago. Food and drink come in very fast and it was very good . The atmosphere was nice lot of regular people how have eat and drink there . I'm going back there next time

Found this by chance during the storm.

By Worldtosee2018 |

My friend and I stumbled across Dublin’s during the recent thunderstorm, when we were soaked through and starving. It was packed to the hilt but the staff cleared a table really quickly for us and treated us really well. The staff were very welcoming and soon sorted us out with well deserved cocktails. The menu was small but varied, with several irish dishes, and the food turned out to be tasty and plenty of it! This is a typical irish bar that serves food, so it is noisy with happy people having a great time all around you, but I don’t have a problem with this at all. Just enjoy!

Local dive - Irish in name only

By DoCo Tommy |

We stopped in here for a couple of late afternoon drinks yesterday. We sat at a table by the window which was really nice with the Christmas lights on all the trees outside. The place was busy and the beers were reasonably priced for the area. It was cozy and I would definitely stop in again for a drink or some pub grub.

Best fun

By Dave J |

The owner was involved in this restaurant and it showed in quality of service, quality of food, and great interaction with the staff. Bison burger, artichoke and spinach dip, bruschetta, jalapeño poppers, calamari. Everything we had was delicious, so much so we came back two more times after our initial meal.

Good atmosphere and great beer

By PhiljLichfield |

We recently visited Chicago and ate at Dublins. We enjoyed it so much we went again the next night. Although a little dark it has a good atmosphere and was full of locals, which is a good sign. It is not the 'posh grub' you might get from other restaurants in the area, but if your needs are good wholesome food in large portions, a wide selection of local beers served up in a friendly atmosphere this is the place for you.

Friendly and delicious food

By igrb34 |

The service is fast and the food is delicious. Internal and exterior. It can go with friendly, daily clothing. I highly recommend the homemade white wine Recommendation.

Great late night dining alternative

By FrontierMan18 |

While the food here is only average, it's a great option for late night dining on a date or a night out with the guys. Don't be deterred by the fact that Dublin's offers late night dining, the bar is a great social scene and the food is quite good, especially at 1 am. I recommend the skirt steak. A comfortable place for the non 20s crowd, yet also a place where people can act younger than they actually are.

Went out for dinner, a very good reliable dinner spot.

By rblumen1 |

We went out for dinner to Dublins and our meals were very good. I had the seafood salad and my wife had a hamburger sandwich perfectly cooked with the trimmings.

Average pub fare

By Richard S |

I found this placev to be average in almost all facets of its operations. The beer list is mediocre, the food on the average side, and the service acceptable.

Best Bison Burger

By krazykprice |

Stopped for a beer and ended up ordering a bison burger. The pretzel bun was great, the bacon was greater, but the bison burger was the greatest burger I gave ever had. Place stays open til at least 4am so it's great place to end the night at. We got in on a late flight so it was nice to find a place for a beer and a burger.

Great casual pub lunch

By TheSnoozemobile |

We ordered the Turkey and the Reuben cornbeef sandwiches and both were great (cornebeef was lovely and came on rye bread, turkey was served on delicious French loaf). Wonderful service and fast! Highly recommend.

Only worth it for late night food

By Meredith A |

Ended up here after another bar closed at 1 am, and we weren't done celebrating my friend's birthday yet! This bar is in the middle of the Viagra Triangle, but it's pleasantly casual, unpretentious, and relatively inexpensive. And they serve food late! At 2 am we were told there was an hour wait for a table. (what??) but somehow we got lucky - I think by announcing we were there for a birthday - and got seated quickly. Allegedly this is an Irish bar but I definitely didn't get that vibe. It was certainly crowded! We got potato skins and spinach/artichoke dip, both of which were surprisingly decent given the setting and the hour. The potato skins were super crisp and loaded with bacon, cheese, scallions, and sour cream. We polished off the dip too, which was hot and cheesy and bubbly. Not reinventing the wheel, but very very satisfying at 2 am. I don't think I'd ever come here unless it was late at night and I wasn't done drinking, and wanted something to much on. So hard to find a bar that serves food this late! That's probably its best asset. But the atmosphere wouldn't exactly draw me in at an earlier hour.

worth trying

By geoff d |

Good food /bar/atmosphere close to our hotel seating outside on a nice day. Food hearty and very reasonable.

Nice little pub

By bethanne l |

After eating at two fancy restaurants the prior two nights it was awesome to stumble across this great little pub on the last day of our stay. The reuben was fantastic as well as the cold draft beer.

Poor!

By Tastewish |

Very rarely give a bad review. BUT I'm going to make an exception. Dublins was close to where we were staying so decided to pop in for a drink. The man that served us was brusque and not friendly at all. We were asked if we wanted Grey Goose Vodka. As Vodka drinkers, we like grey goose and said 'yes please'. Didn't see it being poured but can guarantee it was definitely NOT grey goose and seriously overpriced!! Because of the drink and the rudeness of the waiter, we decided not to eat there. Saw a comment saying this was traditional Irish place? Saw no evidence of that other than Irish stew on the menu. Poor, would definitely not recommend.

Finally, Guinness served at the right temperature!

By Paulguay |

After traveling in Ireland I learned to enjoy a nice pint of Guinness. After touring the Guinness factory in Dublin I found out why. It’s all about the serving temperature. Long story but it’s not the same when served too cold. This pub knows how to do it right. The food was very good except for the club sandwich. Served on two slices of bread not toasted. I’m sure it’s ok if you ordered a turkey sandwich with bacon but disappointing when you’re expecting a toasted triple decker. Good fish and chips. The first time I had tilapia this way but the batter was very tasty and they pulled it off. The sausage sandwich was really good as well. The chicken tortilla soup was delicious. Who’d of thought. Definitely go for a pint and lunch if you have the opportunity.

I don't go to Chicago without stopping here!

By CaptMc |

If you like to go where the locals are, and have great food, this is the spot. Now granted it can be crowed, but it is full of human energy and great conversations!

Tasty food, friendly waiter, nice location

By Dandaithapani Thyagarajan |

Friendly staff, tasty food. Price is reasonable. The waiter was helpful. She explained the menu well. We were there for lunch and will definitely come back again.

regulars feel

By 807mulley |

My wife and I felt like a regular after one visit.Todd our bartender introduced us to all the regulars saying these are our friends from canada.Food is great value and pleantiful

Very social place

By Valux01 |

High energy, packed place. Great music in background. I loved the ambiance, the decor and especially the pictures on the walls. One can sit outside and inside, I liked inside more. Very recommended.

Great food and late-night bar scene

By Doug M |

Ate here twice on a weekend trip to Chicago. Great food, and great late-night scene. Perfect neighborhood bar/restaurant in Gold Coast, without Gold Coast prices.

Rip off on Rush

By Jimgo |

Stopped by this Inn just off Rush Street after Labor Day weekend VollyBall Tournament at Oak St. Beach. Not really an Irish Menu. Sat outside and ordered drinks. Unless you specify (without knowing its an option) you get drinks as double. But is a double, double booze in a mixed drink or just double seltzer or mix for double the price? Definitely double the mix and not double the booze for double the price. In other words the single shot in a tall glass for 2x$$$! Also ordered Nachos. About 12 chips each with some cheese on top. Sure hard to find on the plate. Much dragging and battling with the waiter. Rip off on Rush!

Not many places left like this....

By LuxeFamilyFun |

In the heart of the Gold Coast of Chicago is an Irish Bar - one story - the value of the land far outweighs the value of the business. In any event, it's an old dive bar with a mix of locals/regulars and tourists wandering in to see if it's real. Funny mix - decent drinks and fun place to people watch.

Bad service

By Hightower777 |

Beer card with no prices on it. Asked how much they are answer was : all different. That does not help much. So we just ordered one. Then we always had to wave to get a new beer. Wanted to pay. First card did not go through. Second card neither and the third one from my friend neither. Wow! We just used them before and they worked fine. So the answer was from staff to get money from ATM??!! We had of course cash with us. So we payed without leaving a tip and left. Then staff was running after us and said we owe 14 cents! Of course we did not which he found out after checking again. What a ridiculous service. If you go in there, be sure to have cash with you, it seems they do not know plastic!! A shame

Pretty good

By lmrockstar |

Just walking around Chicago and stumbled into this. Very dark, which I prefer and very noisy, which I did enjoy as well. Ok service and my calamari was fantastic. My friend ordered the mushroom appetizer and that was delish as well. My other friend ordered the crab cakes, and what a sorry excuse for crab cakes. Paper thin and little flavor. Yes, I would go back.

Horrible service

By ajk0034 |

We were seated & then just left to sit. After 15 minutes we walked out. Never waited on. Don’t bother showing up - they obviously don’t want your business.

Not a good first impression

By aender |

Been living in the area for over a year and wanted to check out Dublin's for awhile but sadly it wasn't worth the wait. I had the chili which was just okay and a burger which also was okay. Can't even remember what my wife had it was that forgetful. To drink we ordered iced tea and was served this horrible drink that tasted like it was served out of the same dispenser pop comes out of. It was really bad, yet a previous review called this out ast being great, so either I don't know good iced tea or that reviewer lost their taste buds. There are much better places to go in the area.

A good place to eat in a good area

By Patrick J |

This pub is located very near to some very expensive restaurants. They are a real deal at lunch times. I had a cup of very good lentil soup and a fine blackened scallop salad with a very tasty dressing. Even the bread was good. The crew was good and helpful. Sometime I will return for the Irish stew. A customer told me that they have big fun on game weekends. You be the judge.

Great food, outstanding service

By RUBBERWALLS |

We've been to Dublins before, usually for the Reuben sandwich which is outstanding. We went on a Sunday night, and were greeted by Nicole. She sprang into action, providing much needed water, took our order and then made the most amazing raspberry Ice tea....this stuff was addictive and a a great value! She continued to be cheerful, helpful and checked on us throughout our meal without hovering. I had the crab stuffed jumbo shrimp (5), with perfectly done asparagus and fantastic garlic mashed potatoes. Hubby had the Reuban which was great. We tried to make it to the chocolate cake, but just couldn't...I guess the 2 glasses of water and 3 glasses of ice tea probably didn't help. GREAT VISIT!

Great place for a drink.

By Telecom387 |

Didn't get a chance to eat here, but the food I saw on other tables looked really good. Nice little Irish bar in a great area of Chicago. Lots of beer options. Service was quick and the beer was cold. What more can you ask for.

A Serious Bar with Serious Food

By Patti L |

Having visited Dublin's on most every visit to Chicago over the last 20 or so years - it never fails to deliver an entertaining experience and delicious food. When we first "discovered" this place many years ago, we were amazed by how REALLY good the food was for a local bar. Since then it has never disappointed us - on food or experience. We've met locals, we've seen serious pick-ups, near bar fights, celebrated birthdays and New Year's Eve - just to name a few. On this visit, the Bison Burger with Fried Egg was exactly what we were looking for. Service is very quick and efficient - staff easily buzzing through the packed tables and bodies. Don't let the crowd at the entrance deter you - they'll find you a place and you'll be glad you stayed.

Nice place, just a little too crowded

By Ginger_Diamond |

Came in to Dublin's around 11 on a Saturday night and the place was packed, which is to be expected in this area on a Saturday night. Didn't have to wait too long at the bar to be served and the bartenders were nice. Didn't wind up staying too long as more people kept flooding in. Nice place. Would go back.

A Bit of Everything an Irish at Dublins

By Tama27 |

Went for Breakfast, Easter Morning. Recommended from a friend who has relatives in town. Great, fun place. Breakfast with Bennys and sandwiches was great. Bloody Marys an Mimosas great. Iam sure anyother meal at Dublins would be great. Give it the old Irish try!

Fresh food, great service

By James B |

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. Food was great very fresh and tasty. It had a very nice atmosphere and the staff were great.

Lunch stop

By Calmac3 |

Went here for lunch before seeing a show at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts. It’s around the corner on Maple. Although small and dark, it’s a comfortable, popular neighborhood joint. There’s a long bar, high and low top tables, lots of photos and some Irish memorabilia, friendly staff and good comfort food. We both had sandwiches (Turkey club and chicken parmigiana) with great waffle fries...the menu is pretty full from appetizers to limited entrees and great specials...we’ll go back!

Open Late.

By Shanel S |

Lovely place. Open very late. Food is always pleasing. Not fancy, but awesome environment. Just fun to be had.

Pleasantly surprised

OK, so TripAdvisor is making me pick a 'when did you visit', but this is really a review from a visit in December 2012. However, we still talk about our meal & experience at Dublin's, and when we're in Chicago again we will definitely go back. My husband and I were in Chicago for our first anniversary. Our last night in town, we decided to splurge on a couple of drinks with our meal, so we finally hit on Dublin's. It was a lovely December night, and it was walking distance from our hotel (Sofitel Water Tower), so we figured it would be fine. It was more than fine. The atmosphere was perfect. Laid-back classy (white paper on the tables and tea lights) without losing that pub feeling. I had a Goose Island Sofie (more like 3, really...) and he had a Bass (more like 4...) and our food was fantastic. We both had chicken... his with a madeira sauce and mine alongside perfectly cooked asparagus. Who knew a pub would have a chef in the back?? I sincerely hope, in the almost two years since we've been there, that this pub has received the patronage it deserves. We're so glad we found it then, and we'll be back.

Appetizing

Fun place with an eclectic menu. Great atmosphere and plenty of TV's for sports. Right in the heart of the Chicago party district! Food was good and the service was great!

1st, and it rates a 5!

By David W |

Here we are, it is 2am. Service with a smile. Food that excels. And not overly loud. I just arrived from out of town looking for a quick bite. Quick it was. Very good quality. And warm service. Very nice.

Weekday Lunch

By Dave B |

Stopped in Dublin's Pub on my way out of town. I sat at the bar and had a corned beef sandwich and a pint before heading to Union Station for a 5 hour train ride. Since it was a weekday there were a variety of people having lunch, everybody from shoppers to mechanics (although they were BMW mechanics). The sandwich was great, with thick slabs of corned beef and served with waffle fries. Since there was a mountain of food I focused on the sandwich and left most of the fries. Nice selection of beers on tap (not so many to be overwhelmed). I'll be back in a month!

What a hidden treasure

By Vesta |

We were just walking around looking for a place to get dinner just happened to walk in. The Lamb Shank was amazing! My husband had the Irish Beef Stew and he loved it. The staff was top notch from getting us a table right away keeping our drinks full. Bobby took exceptional care of us. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Chicago.

Relaxed atmosphere at the Dublin's

By Ulf R |

Fresh food, rich servings. Don't miss their tuna salad with avocado, superbly cooked seared tuna. Very good selection of draughts. Don't expect a genuine Irish pub however, the room is not very fancy

Great place

By Bitamarcus |

Omg what a place the food was amazing. The staff are friendly. And the dark hair girl who had the place under control is beautiful and so nice.i highly recommend the Mediterranean chicken and the goat cheese! They also have a patio when weather permits which provides great people watching in the heart of Gold Coast! The Saturday day bartenders were so cute and fun

Good Late Night Eats

By NKD1273 |

It was later in the night on a Sunday and we had a hard time finding a place still serving food until we stumbled upon this little place. Full menu was offered and it was after midnight. The place was packed so I assume it's a neighborhood fave. There's nothing really flashy about it but if you're looking for a late night snack and drink, Dublins is the place! We had the nachos with steak and the steak was seasoned well and surprisingly tender.

After walking around Chicago for hours, we were thirsty

By Gardengrl3 |

Beers were cold. It was around 4 pm so not too crowded. We sat at the bar. Staff seemed more interested in the locals. They were efficient, but not real friendly. We had been here a couple years ago and had a different experience. Ordered onion rings. Very so-so.

Best Clam Chowder

By Jen D |

We stumbled upon this pub as we were desperately looking for a bar to watch the ISU vs UConn basketball game, on a Friday night in downtown Chicago. The place was packed, but they set up a quick table for us near a TV. The clam chowder was the best I've ever tasted and the chicken nachos were very tasty.

Fun on St. Patrick's

By Francisco A |

stopped by for drinks on St. Patrick's day. Place was crowded but it was a fun atmosphere. Bar tender was ok. May have been a bit overwhelmed. Could not make a brandy old fashioned for my wife, but then again, that may have been the wrong drink selection given the day. Overall It was a fun place.

Great food at a reasonable price near Rush Street

By Elizabeth S |

We were in the city with friends who wanted to experience Chicago but weren't ready to pay Rush Street prices. We stumbled on Dublin's Pub and so happy we did! What a neat little gem tucked into the middle of all the higher priced cheffy-chef restaurants on Rush. Food was very good, quick service and large portions. Drinks were also reasonably priced and very cold, all you could ask for. We would definitely hit this spot again if in the area. Great beef stew!

Fun Little Place to Put Back a Pint

By Katie K. |

Stopped in to grab a few pints and catch up on the Olympics action before dinner. It was pretty much what I had expected - and hoped it would be, casual, busy and charming. Every table was occupied, cold beer was flowing, laughter and conversations were happening rapid fire - and everyone was smiling. It can definitely get cramped in there, but that's part of the charm. I would stop by again for a few cold ones.

Convenient pub menu

By Ger111 |

Had evening meal here .Menu and service very good but music too loud for having a conversation.Staff were friendly and attentive.

Diverse Menu

By dede48 |

This restaurant is a great place to stop for lunch, dinner, or a late night snack. The staff is courteous and helpful. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable and seems to be a favorite with locals. Prices are reasonable and meals are lplentiful.

Late night dinner

By kathleens |

After a long day of travel from the other side of the world we were pointed here for dinner after midnight. The staff were enthusiastic and the food was generous and tasty. The locals in the bar were also entertaining and its obviously a fun place to be.

Average and Loud

By Jon Matson |

We ate here as we could not get into any other restaurant in the area due to the fact it was Friday night. The atmosphere is what you'd expect, a loud bar. We had the corned beef Reuben. Nothing special. Corned beef was dry an not flavorful. Iced tea tasted like it was from a powder mix. Fries were average. Would not go again. Service was attentive however.

Great food

By Susan H |

Loved the food--had the lamb kebob with feta--outstanding! Really friendly service and reasonably priced in s fun neighborhood. Would go again.

Filet mignon served at 3 a.m.?

By Taylor B |

My wife and I have lived on Chicago's Gold Coast for 40 years. I can't recall the number of times we have walked past Dublin's Pub at 1050 North State Street in Newberry Plaza, between Oak and Maple, in the heart of the Golden or Viagra Triangle's restaurant/bar area at the confluence of Bellevue, Rush and State Streets, across from Mariano Park. Well, we finally made it a point to have lunch at the Irish-themed venue with the white stucco exterior and green awnings and green-painted wooden plate-glass door. The exterior sets the scene for a pub that offers Irish staples such as corned beef and cabbage and beef stew and a pint of Guinness. Also burgers, shrimp, fish and steaks and a patio for al fresco dining in the summer. While Dublin's signature dishes are Irish stew and corned beef and cabbage, thickly cut with 1/8 of a head of cabbage, it also serves a wonderful plate of beer-battered fish and chips and, curiously, a selection of pastas and seafood from an Italian chef who tempts diners with crusted butterfly jumbo shrimp, pappardelle pasta with grilled chicken breast, grilled salmon filet, linguini, rigatoni and grilled tilapia tacos. The Italian beef sandwich comes straight out of LIttle Italy. But, for a quick lunch, it's hard to beat a corned beef sandwich with a bowl of hot soup. Minestrone or chicken noodle? And what did we have for an appetizer? Bruschetta, what else in an Irish pub?

A Blast From the Past!

By Patti L |

After discovering Dublin's Pub on a business trip 25+ years ago, we never pass up a chance to revisit the spot. It has changed little over the years - and that's a good thing. It has the familiar "neighborhood bar" feel where you can people watch and enjoy a good meal. Also fun to recall earlier visits and some of our very interesting and entertaining evenings. It's sad to see some of the iconic Chicago places close - but Dublin's persists. Good food, good service, reasonable prices and a very local feel. Congratulations!

Drinks, yes - Food, no.

By SummerLager |

This isn’t really an Irish pub, it’s more of a bar with glorified bar-food. Nice staff, and a wide variety of food to choose from, but the quality is only fair. A neat environment, but we won’t be going back for the food.

Late night gem

By BeachfunMissouri |

We wanted to eat after the Cubs game so we gave this a try, a waitress had recommended it for late night dining. I had their bison burger special and it was amazing!!! Cheese, bacon and egg on a pretzel bun need I say more. Hubby got the Italian beef and our friend had the pastrami.

Big menu

By Diane K |

We stopped in for an early dinner. This is a well worn out pub - that could use some updating (especially the booth seats). Service was good and there was a wide selection on the menu. My husband got the fish and chips - which he said tasted much better then they looked. I had the lamb kabobs which had a great sauce - but the meat was tough and hard to chew.

Great Choice!

By DaveTNYY |

Wide variety on menu and all looked great. Had a salad and wife had pasta, both were great and unexpectedly so from an Irish pub. Highly recommended and great service in a casual atmosphere!

Quick drink

By IAN D |

An Irish style bar in gold coast. This bar seems out of place with all the other stylish bars in the area. Having said that the prices reflect the nature of the bar.

A great time

By 503traciec |

The food is phenomenal, the bartenders are hilarious, and the drinks are great. I have been there 5 times, I go every time I go to Chicago.

Excellent Salad

By bunky36669 |

Met some friends here for lunch and while the outside doesn't look like much, we were very impressed with the food. I had an outstanding salad that was full of avocado, fresh mozzarella, artichoke hearts and hearts of palm. A lot of salads skimp on these type of specialty ingredients, but this salad was loaded with them. Very fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back and try the reuben.

Fraudulent tip by waitress

By Kim K |

Waitress added a 50% tip on our bill and charged us for drinks we didn’t buy. I asked her about it when she brought the check and she said no that’s 20% so I figured maybe I was looking at the wrong amounts and would just figure it out the next day. Well I was right, she charged an $80 tip on a $160 bill. Called the manager to try to sort it out, he said I had to come in and they didn’t have a copy of the receipt, but I live in a different state so that wasn’t an option. Super sketchy, avoid!!

Rude bartender

By Ashley B |

I strolled in alone and ordered a few beers. My bartender kept forgetting about me and hardly asked if I needed another drink. A man came in that seemed to know the bartender and I noticed the bartender gave very immediate service to the man. The bartender got very annoyed my shopping bag was in the way of giving his important customers service and slammed a beer in front of my bag:/ I tipped and left right after. Bad experience.:(

Great place for late night food and drinks

By Craig P |

I have been to Dublin's a few times during my 2 months in Chicago. Always busy, always a good spot to grab a late night drink or bite to eat. Usually a collection bar after two o clock as most of the bars in that area close around then. I will be back!

rockefeller oysters...

By Desert G |

I like this place portions are giant and I really love the fact the price is awesome as well...my fav are salads and pasta as well the Rockefeller oysters is a must

Great service

By MikeKerrey |

Enjoyed a quick dinner at the bar. Bartender was friendly and quick. The shepards pie was hot and tasty. Loved the crusty potatoes. Beer was cold. Watched a little hockey. Nice mix of relaxed and upscale.

Late night eats

By Mary Jo W |

We stopped here for a late night meal on a very hot Chicago night. The maitre d' noticed it was difficult for one of us to sit at a high top and moved us to a booth near the window, great service on his part. Unfortunately our waiter at the first table was was much more attentive than our second, but the food was was better than most Irish Pub food. From the classic corned beef sandwich to the natella poppers we enjoyed the thoroughly enjoyed our decadent late-night meal.

Hidden treasure

By Debbie B |

We were staying at the Viceroy and wondered into this great pub. Fun vibe, great drinks, good food. We went here two nights in a row for drinks after dinner and late night snacks after seeing Hamilton.

Nice hideaway - great selection

By Craig S |

Stopped for drinks before dinner. Nice selection - food looked good. Very friendly environment, many TV’s, and great to people watch.

Very friendly!!!

By Scott H |

I walked in there solo and before the night was over I had made several new friends. I watched the chef cook for a while and he was a pro! Everything he served looked absolutely delicious. However I did not eat. Great beer and whiskey selection. You should definitely go.

Dinner

By Douglas N |

Service was very slow. Food ended up fairly average. Not a bad review, but nothing great. Too many other good places around to visit to end up here.

Good bar food

By SLYCAST |

We were just trying to get a quick bite and this place turned out to be a good choice. Food is better than what you would expect in a bar. Nice place to gather to watch a game.

Great food.

By MaryH938 |

We have eaten here twice now as the food is excellent and it is very reasonably priced. The service is very good and even when it is really busy there are no long waits for anything. It seems really popular with locals and tourists alike.

A happy find in the rain!

By Wendy H |

We stumbled across this by accident and decided to give it a try as it looked quite quirky . We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Some good homely items on the menu- as it says "a bit of Dublin in Chicago". We enjoyed our mains and were too full to consider anything else. A good traditional bar. Very reasonable prices.

Stealing Bartender

By Mike D |

Avoid this place. Matt the bartender overcharged me for a sandwich. I ordered the corn beef ($13) Ruben style ($1 extra) Matt charged me $21.95 then tried to say the city tax of 11% made the $14 sandwich come to a $21.95 total. Then he had the nerve to ask if I did math and called me a word for a female dog when I said $14 plus 11% only came to $15.54. If there weren't 3 bouncers and the manager there Matt's scamming self would have gotten kicked all over the bar. It's too bad Matt had to be a lying sack of you know what because I would have tipped enough to make what he decided he wanted to steal anyway.

What fun!

By Janice R |

Love Irish pubs -- this place was so much fun. Very crowded during our Christmas week visit. We only had an appetizer, but it was great! Would like to come back again for a beer and to try an entree because the choices sounded delicious. Can easily recommend a visit for a "pint."

Rude staff!

By Ianbb8 |

We visited here as we were staying opposite. We called in for drinks before dinner. The waitress behind the bar acknowledged us when we sat down at the bar and continued to talk to her friends. For around 5 minutes! I’ve never waited as long for a drink anywhere when there was no one else in the queue. We finally ordered drinks after another waitress shouted at her to get her attention to serve us. We ordered drinks and she just dumped them down in front of us. When we went to leave we asked for the bill which seemed to be a huge request for her. She brought the wrong bill and when queried she rectified it but not without pulling her face. It’s the only time we have ever not left left a tip in America she was that rude.

Seems like local fun bar!

By bigdaddyFlorida |

Went to see if they had ga/ga tech game on Saturday and stayed and watched the game. Sat at bar and talked with bartender when he could. Very busy place. The food looked very good but was not hungry but everyone around me ate. Seemed like regulars and tourist was half and half. Seems like just a fun place to go and I enjoyed it and very friendly people.

My favorite hole in the wall that isn't

By Jesshunt254 |

I love this place! From the outside it doesn't look like much...but inside is a lovely pub with plenty of booth seating, yummy dishes, and friendly staff. Tokay, no joking, the food is EXCELLENT and the prices are fantastic. The portobello mushroom & shrimp appetizer is to die for and the pasta dishes are plenty to feed two and oh so satisfying. The crusty bread! So good! Order a bottle of the Mirassou Pinot Noir (great bargain wine) and don't forget dessert!

Great location

By jamesammons69 |

Food is good... Location is great for great for people watching. Open 24/7/365! This is the place the locals come to hangout so you can't go wrong.

Nice little Pub

By globalmozy |

We stumbled upon this pub when we couldn't get a table at Tavern on Rush. We just wanted a drink and some quick appetizers before we went to dinner. This place has a great location, an average staff, and surprisingly good bruschetta(for an Irish Pub). It was crowded, but we were seated right away. This is a cool little place for a quick drink before moving on to your next, planned destinations.

"Bartender Nig"

By H Wesley M |

Speaks for itself, "Bartender Nig" unless it's the actual bartender name, but doubt it! Will never go there again!!!!!

Great place. If you like a kinda "divey" sorta place. And I do

By David G |

Fantastic location if you like people watching. And cars... Walk in, kinda dark and dingy with a large bar. Always busy when I went (we were visiting) but service was great! Very reasonably priced. Wife and I ordered a bottle of house wine. Chardonnay. Very good and inexpensive. If wine can be inexpensive in a restaurant....Ate there twice and once for a couple of beers at the bar. Enjoyed everything about it. As some have said, maybe not a totally "Irish" vibe but a totally local Chicago vibe. Crowded, lively and loud. If that's not you then don't go.

Great for late night food!

By Foodcrazy48 |

We came here after a late night out at 2 am. This place was still filled with people, loved the atmosphere that was in this place. I would recommend two dished here more than anything, the chicken tenders are a must!! Also the shrimp scampi pasta was good too. Bruschetta was the only bad thing we tried, the bread solid, couldn't bit into it. The drinks are a little over priced but this is Chicago so I don't expect anything else.

Good atmosphere and service

By Jennifer C |

We stopped in for some appetizers on our one night at State & Rush - we wanted to visit a couple different restaurants / bars through out the evening. The oysters rock was very good; and the house salad was terrific. We were well served and although we couldn't find a seat at the bar we sat at the tall bar tables and enjoyed watching soccer. It was a great day so all the windows were open to the patio and street traffic/pedestrian traffic - good atmoshpere.

Gold. Hole in the Wall.

By Becky N |

Asked a retail sales person for a recommendation and she hit it on the head. Great Bloody Mary, sandwiches, etc. A perfect place to watch passerbys, and relax. Super little Irish Pub.

Excellent dinner

By Wallylarry |

I had a Reuben. Wife had a bison burger. Both very good. Excellent waiter. Nice selection of craft, draft beer. Really good waffle fries. Corned beef in the sandwich was excellent.

Great locals dive bar

By Steve R |

Met some great people in here, beers and prices were good. I'll be heading back here for a last beer before I leave town.

Excellent Find

By Daniel D |

walking through the streets of Chicago, hungry & thirsty. Walk in to the pub and greeted with a friendly staff. Our server gave some recommendations of his favorite beers, we had the oyster Rockefeller for a aptz and hot roast beef for lunch. Very delightful dining. Next time in Chicago , this will be the first stop.

Very good food, reasonable prices!

By Paula B |

Great clam chowder, Hawaiian chicken, and Irish stew! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but a fun pub with great food and lots of beer choices.

Always open

By Bruce B |

Very good pub food and seems to be open very late at night. Beer is cold and reasonably priced. Usually can find a seat outside which is great for people watching on the corner. Prices are modest.

Lamb Shanks

By LeonP417 |

Great food, had the lamb shanks and it was awesome! The portions are huge and they had my favorite beer, Harp on tap. Service was excellent and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Night out

By Alex S |

Great place recommended by Megan at pippins. Busy place with great staff. We had a couple drinks. Food looked really good so we will have to come back and try it. Had a great time. Good job.

Great stop

By FastGirl39 |

Nice neighborhood bar to stop for a beverage prior to dinner or to hear the game. Bartenders friendly and drinks a nice pour.

Food, service, prices all rubbish

By Darren Holdsworth |

Worst place we went in Chicago, luckily the service was quick so we didn't have to dwell in there too long.

Reasonable place among the high priced ones

By TravelDog |

We were looking for something casual while staying in the area and happened upon this place. Reasonably priced, good service and the food was tasty. We were there fairly early for a Friday night and by the time we finished, the place was packed. This place is not fancy or high-brow. It's just a great pub.

Took long time to get served...ugh.

By flosue |

Been here many times, but this time I ate there instead of just drinking at bar. Took FOREVER to get any service. Food good, but pretty expensive for pub food. I wouldn't rush back any time soon.

Great Corned Beef and Cabbage

By mnsheldon |

I enjoy corned beef and cabbage even if it is not an Irish meal. This was great, great flavor, melt in your mouth tender. Very satisfying meal.

Dinner

By Bruce B |

Dublins is consistently great and reasonably priced. Friday my wife had the crabmeat stuffed shrimp with asparagus and mashed potatoes for dinner. She believes it was the best sauce she has ever eaten and the shrimp were large and generous. My burger was great.

Open Late in the Viagra Triangle

By Robert G |

Love the staff at this bar/restaurant/pub! The staff & service is where all the stars come from, while the food is delicious, it's not Alinea (Michelin Starred Restaurant). This location is more of a tavern/ bar than a restaurant, but the food is still very delicious. It's right in the middle of all the action in the Triangle. Great patio with awesome views, and fun people watching! Also, this joint has a late hour liquor license, it's worth a stop in at 3:45am.

Fav place for lunch

By JanieB23 |

We love Dublins! Nothing fancy. You have to order the appetizer with portobello, shrimp and cheese. Oh it is something magical. Good burgers and decent burgers. Tables outside are on the north side so can be sunny and can be chilly.

There's a reason this place has been around for so long!

By JanieB23 |

The minute you walk in the door, you feel welcome. Great food. Great variety. Burgers yes awesome apps yes. Irish specialties. Of course You have to order the portobello mushroom appetizer. We go just for that. Insanely delicious!

Super friendly/great atmosphere

By danjwalker1980 |

Friendly staff and super friendly patrons. I didn't have to buy any beers on my first night in Chicago. Food was OK but good enough for bar fair.

Steak Sandwich

By Adrianne M |

This place is a great pub in the middle of the most not-pubby neighborhood ever. My husband loves going here so whenever he's feeling hungry, thirsty, and in a sports mood, we call a few friends and drop in. I'm not the hugest fan of the food but the crab cakes and the fries are tasty. He always gets the steak sandwich with gorgonzola and several pints of whatever's on tap. If you want a pub with good sports and nice outdoor seating for an awesome price in a ridiculously overpriced area, go here.

Not much to look at yet fab Oysters Rockefeller!!

By Sherry L |

My Chicago pal told me that we HAD to come here as a last stop at night for what she says is the best Oysters Rockefeller ever - and I can say I agree! It's an oldie but a goodie, non-fancy pub with a full bar, friendly bartender and really good food - everyone was eating.

This place is a staple

By jimmyk4444 |

I’ve been going here for years. It’s an Irish dive bar in my opinion. I typically drink beer when I’m there (solid tap list) but lots of people order food and it looks pretty good. Lively atmosphere. With all the higher end bars and restaurants in the area, this is a laid-back oasis.

Wonderful

By Mexner1 |

We stopped here to get a quick bit of food as a late lunch. Other places near here are pretty pricey and a little too over the top. Dublins was a nice quiet place with excellent service and quite good food which frankly we didn't expect. Service was impeccable. Agree with others that this is not an Irish pub but really it doesn't matter. Go to Ireland if you want the real thing as that is the only place I've ever found a "real " one

Good eats and fun bar

By TravellerStLouis |

This is a very busy restaurant/ bar, but has lot's of fun and energy. The food is really good bar food with great salads.

Authentic Irish Pub

By Bradley S |

I had the hearty Irish beef stew and a couple pints of Guinness. The pints were the perfect compliment for the stew on a dreary, rainy day.

Average, middle of the road, service and food. Food was oily.

By OrgasmicCry |

Came with 7 business colleagues, was a bit dark and no real atmosphere. Good selection of beers but my meal of Chicken Vesuvio was really, really oily and greasy. Not good.

Always a great late night Stop

By dalewurfel |

If you are looking for a great pub to have a late night drink and eat this is a great stop. Rather than eat take out eat great homemade food right up to 4 am at this awesome little bar. We always make at least one pit stop here while we are in Chicago!

What a local pub should be

By Phim G |

My wife had a cheeseburger, I had the Italian beef and both came with waffle fries that were outstanding. Atmosphere was terrific and the wait staff and bartenders were awesome.

You'll feel right at home!

By R T |

Great little neighborhood Pub with delicious simple food. Good service and very low prices for the value. Can't go wrong here. Excellent.

Friday night on the patio

By Chris J |

Lucked out and got a table for 6 on the patio around 8:00 on a Friday evening. A couple was gracious enough to move over a table (and the Dublin's staff was nice enough to ask) so two tables could be pushed together. Had a nice meal and beers while watching the pedestrian traffic. Three of out party had a buffalo burger, one of the nightly specials. The meal was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.
