Enjoyable but expensive.

By Milliejune |

We arrived (my partner and I) and we ordered the breakfast sandwich, which was really nice, my brother and his partner arrived and ordered the same and it was gross... the muffin was burnt and I could see it wasn't enjoyable. I think this place is one of those places where you could go and it be great, return and you'd be disappointed. So you take a gamble by going here, and it isn't cheap, so I would say don't go... The staff looked Ston*d, and its like they didn't want our business... forgetting to ask if we would like drinks, when we did ask I had an espresso milkshake, that was really nice!

Finally! Good food steps from the beach.

By Karen D |

Good food close the beach in Venice is finally here! This new place has terrific food with local ingredients and a variety of juices. I loved it here. The server was a bit clueless. We were having a good time so we forgave it but I think they need to still work out some kinks before this place is a well run machine. They do not use open table, they use the reserve app. It's better for them but less convenient for customers.

Warm, wonderful, with delicious food

By Elizabeth M |

In a 5 day visit to LA I came here 2x and hope to make it back 1 more. The menu has great choices. The bread is so soft and the favors bright and tasty. The avocado toast, the tuna...my friend liked her omelet. Get here before the wait starts

Breakfast

By annamaria3242016 |

I came in wanting a breakfast ... and got the strangest meal I have ever had. The only good thing on my plate were the potatoes and the peas. The carrots, whole and rather undercooked, were so salty, I could not eat more than 2. The eggs were beautifully prepared but I hate runny eggs ... I would have liked a choice of how I wanted my eggs. The worst were the green onions, which were sauteed with the long green stems ... they wouldn't cut, and I just felt like I was eating grass! I asked for toast, and when I was told that they only had brioche, I said O.K., but it never came. On the plus side, the decor is charming and very interesing.

Vibin’ Venice Hotspot for fresh Seafood, good music and Wine

By Per N |

I’ll start right away saying I am sober so will not be reviewing the wine section but I hear it’s great. Food is mostly seafood that’s sourced locally (by staff!) and is served fresh daily. I had the Rockfish and really liked it but it was boarder line over cooked. Also had the radicchio / apple salad which was nicely balanced with acidity, sweetness (honey) and crunchy (nuts). The ambience is great and the clientele skews younger (30 something’s)

Nice breakfast spot in Venice Beach

By Barbara M |

Enjoyed breakfast and lunch there a couple of times during stay in Venice Beach. Good service, loved the gatzpacho soup.

Nice Lunch at the Beach

By PickyTraveler26 |

Had a lovely lunch at Dudley Market with a friend. The food was very nice--the Venice for my gluten-free friend, the omelet with soft-shell crab for my husband, and the crab sandwich for me. The wine we ordered was not available so our server brought us tastes of several others so we could select one we wanted. The restaurant is very attractive and the location, just steps from the beach, is terrific. We are locals so Ubered to the restaurant to avoid parking hassles.

A Treat for Foodies

Open kitchen, great atmosphere, good service and interesting menu selections with attractive presentations to delight any foodie.

Fresh and inventive food

By melody8va |

Five of us shared many different things and enjoyed them all. Fish was fresh and delicious. Many unusual preparations. Fish and Chips had nice, light batter but the fish was a bit dry. All our other seafood preparations were very good. Cooked carrot plate was delicious. The night we went, wine was 50% off. We tried the cheesecake and a 'smore pie for dessert and both were good, but the cheesecake was better. Service was super friendly and informative without being intrusive. We went midweek and we could linger a long time over dinner and never felt rushed or pressured to leave.

great little place in the heart of Venice

By Jack V |

this is a great little place in the heart of Venice. the space is small with a dozen tables and another 6 to 8 seats at the bar. food was delicious and the service was good. the place is a little loud. the people waiting for you to leave so they can sit down hover in the back watching you which is annoying. the parking is also a little challenging since they do not have a lot or valet. this place is definitely worth visiting.

A Hidden Jewel in Venice Beach

By Crystal T |

What a fabulous place! A wonderful oasis away from the touristy crowds of Venice Beach. We did a web-search for highly-rated breakfast dining in Venice Beach and decided to come here based on all the positive reviews. Highlights from our breakfast include: -Delicious brioche, fresh butter and homemade preserves -Fresh organic eggs -Great smoked bacon -Fresh (and I mean fresh) corn polenta (with large bits of sweet corn kernels) -Homemade granola and greek yogurt Beautiful decor, reasonable prices and outstanding service. Our only regret is that we didn't discover the Dudley Market earlier in our trip (we would have come here more frequently). Highly recommended!

Awesome staff, great and changing wine selection, and perfect dinner for foodies

By ScottVenice |

Love this go to place. Clients and friends alike rave after we take them here. The staff is incredibly knowledgable of the food prep, and the wine list. Wines are changed out frequently which makes it a great spot to explore new things. All of the pasta is made in house and clearly with a great deal of care by the chef. If you are in Venice for dinner this place is a must!

Great Breakfast

By milktray |

Great looking cafe/ restaurant steps from the Venice Boardwalk. Went for breakfast, service and food were excellent and the flat whites (yeah I had to have another they were so....goood!) were divine. Not cheap but worth it.

Gourmet Oasis

By Mary Jane D |

I was at this place every day I was vacationing in Venice. I had coffee several times, full breakfast, and house made pastry. I'm sorry I didn't get to have more of their menu. Everything they make there is especially delicious, and the friendly treatment reinforces the desire come back.

Great place for breakfast!

By Roaming_AMo |

Staying a hotel next door, we decided to try this place and we loved it! Great coffee and designer breakfast, very nicely presented. Gets busy on weekends, so get in before 9:30am and you will need no reservation. We will be back!

Top three Burger

By andreasbinz73 |

We saw this place on the way to the hotel, jet lagged like crazy. The Dudley Market is a cool venue and it felt like a perfect introduction to Venice. The service was very friendly and relaxed. The guests interesting to look at and the food was spectacular. Their burger is definitely on my global top three!

Terrific Food

By Joe |

Service was wonderfully attentive. We shared a chili eggplant sandwich and fries. Side salad (came with) was fresh and tasty. Definitely not tourist food. Gem of a place.

Unexpectedly incredible

By Ila489 |

Staying at the hotel opposite the restaurant and decided to go down to grab a bite after reviewing the menu on the website. We ordered asparagus, cacio e pepe pasta, crab, short rib and the desserts.....to die for. Really great restaurant and amazing food. Well done to the chef who's doing incredibly well. Will highly recommend it Thank you

Great coffee and brunch

By Simon M |

We had breakfast here twice during our stay and were impressed enough to advise others to go here. Great coffee and the skillet pancake is a treat

Saturday brunch

By katievancouver123 |

Great little spot for brunch. Beautiful interior and delicious food to match. We had the crab benedict and the breakfast sandwich. The crab Benedict was unbelievable and very filling! Service was excellent, very attentive and personable.

Worst lunch in our lives

By lastupendaboy |

On a cold day in Venice Beach, we stumbled upon this uppity, lousy place when we walked up from the beach to avoid the chilly air...It looked cute and clean enough, so gave it a try....they offered basically French wines( why, when in California???) that were pricey...but the food was horrible. My 3 little tortured oysters that were cornmeal crusted to within an inch of their lives, sat on chunky sliced bread with roasted red pepper and arugula...dry, underdressed, tasteless...that is their Oyster po Boy...NOT A Po Boy in any way( I'm from New Orleans, I know)The pork hash was all fat, my friend couldn't even eat it( though I enjoyed the flavor, fat and all)$58 for their house wine, that and the potato chips that came with my " po boy" were the only decent things. We were with a beloved friend so had fun anyway, but with no help from the cold waiter( another pretty young woman was sweeter, but described the the hash as " divine"....Wrong!)Worst meal any of the three of us could remember.AVOID!We left and no one even spoke to us....Can't imagine this place surviving!

Coffee was good!

By Pippallie |

One of the best tasting coffees, I’ve had. Service was friendly and relaxed. The store had a really cool vibe. Just up an alley, off the Venice Beach boardwalk.

Sit back. Sip, sample, and savor.

By S0Lsearcher |

Superbly prepared sashimi and crudo that simply wowed us with freshness, texture, and subtle flavor profiles. The halibut sashimi was our favorite until we tried the tuna crudo. Outstanding! Our server was the best. His wine, oyster, and fresh fish recommendations were spot on. We'll be back. Often.

Need some training on the service skills

By AndyLin |

This place has all the potential, great design of the interior and stepping in here makes you feel as moved very far from Venice Beach. The menu is compact which I like (we did the mid-day menu) but each item was unique in its composition and quality of everything was very good. So, the only thing keeping me from full score is that the service staff seemed unskilled. They were clearly not that stressed, but they forgot about drinks ordered (came back at the end of the meal saying that what I ordered at arrival was out of stock...), did not refill water without being prompted etc.

Underwhelming!

By Spoek2 |

snooty waiters and mediocre food...wife and i went and were dissapointed with almost everything, limited menu choices , difficult to find parking, wont be back

Return visit disappoints

By Karen D |

I am not sure what happened but my first visits here when it was new were great...but they are "transitioning" the menu and their brunch was so disappointing. Their choices were limited and the staff just couldn't seem more unhappy to be there. The hostess is an exception, she was helpful and pleasant but man, the wait staff need to know are in the service industry, you to understand what it means to serve! Or at minimum, smile.

Organic and Sustainable

By Dennis M |

Our family of five came here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The menu offers twists on traditional food, such as the omelet with a whole deep fried soft shell crab on top. The oysters on the half shell were fantastic. The atmosphere was open and fresh and you share long tables with other patrons. Overall a fun and great experience.

Lovely couple's dinner near Venice Beach

By JodiBaxter |

Great little local spot away from all of the tourists (like us!). Food was delicious and the staff were great. Highly recommend if you like wine and seafood away from the crowds.

Great Spot but Food Needs Improvement

By fiso |

Loved the space, great service, very friendly and relaxing atmosphere - menu sounded promising with a nice wine selection (1/2 price on Mondays). Sashimi platter (tuna sampler) was tasty and very fresh, but slices were too thick and large - hand roll was uneatable as we could not bite and cut thru the seaweed (old seaweed?), which they comped - delicious and fresh octopus in a disappointing thick chunky uninteresting tomato sauce - finally a delicious clam and mussel stew in a tasty spicy broth, but the bred was old and sour, it ruined it. So, great potential but kitchen needs to refine their attention to details.

Great food and service

By tinaNtravel |

The server was very friendly. The food was unique and very good. We were all happy with all the dishes we ordered. (We ordered several different dishes and shared them all.) The location is nice, with easy access to the beach. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

Best Restaurant in Venice

By HilaryLondonUK |

So we have eaten at the rose cafe. And we've tried Leonas, the tasting kitchen, Gjelinas, and countless others and they were all great - but what we received tonite was perfection. First the food was amazing. I love restaurants that focus first on ingredients and freshness. This was one. And yes the restaurant space was nice but then ALL the staff from maitre d to water pourer were exceptional. Our waiter was superb. For my husband and I this was our best meal since moving to LA six months ago. Congrats.

Fine dining in great

By Knut N |

Dropped in without reservation late on a busy night, but no problem clearing a table for two. Modern and busy atmosphere. Great pasta and fantastic desserts. Somewhat pricey and limited beer selection.

Excellent Food

By Toni F |

Slightly off the main Venice Boardwalk, Dudley Market is a real treat. Excellent food and awesome coffee - a rare find. Had brunch at Dudley and would highly recommend it.

Could be so much better...

By Henri C |

Great location. Fine decor in a friendly beach house kind of way. And then... Coffee tastes like chicory, service is lackadaisical, and two of the four different items were unavailable (really, no blueberries!!??, would you like me to get some for you around the corner?). This has the potential to become a local favorite but the owner needs to give it a wake up call.

nnewly opened, this restaurant is very popular and serves great meals

By Martino1948 |

just over the road from the Cadillac Hotel, this restaurant is classy, but not over the top. The food is good, healthy fare with a wide selection. I had dinner and breakfast there and was not disappointed. Service staff were excellent.

Is it trying too hard. Or should I just learn to chill out.

By major_rawls |

This is what might happen to the Cadilac Hotel just across the road. (See review). Dudley Market a groovy restaurant/bar with exposed brickwork and shiny gonks placed strategically perfect on floor to ceiling height shelving. I feel like I'm writing this with an air of cynicism. I should be celebrating the gentrification of Venice, a place I have grown to love. The food looks amazing but I chose badly. And I also learned that American craft beers have extremely high alcohol-by-volume content, the typically around 8%! Note: Neither my bad selection of food nor the state of America beers is the fault of Dudley Mkt. I ordered the octopus, with a bowl of fries and the black rice Thai salad. What sort of combo is that?! The salad blew my brains out. Almost literally. It was psychopathic hot. It had no need to be that hot. It could have easily been challengingly hot. The flavour wasn't given a chance. The octopus was nice. But it didn't quite work with the fries and salad. On an upbeat note, the staff here are a delight. On the first night, I had just arrived after a long flight, they'd stopped serving but let me have a drink nonetheless. Back to the second night, I sat eating the mad hot salad staring at the funky shelving and slurping the high alcohol craft beer. Everything seemed to be on one level. I wondered if they are trying just a bit too hard. Maybe they should put some beers on the menu that aren't headache combustible, maybe dial down the searing heat in the salad and put some disheveled tat on the walls in amongst the cool stuff. Or maybe not? Its clearly doing well. Locals were dressed up and dining out and all looked like they were having a great time. I was just sat on my own with too much time to think!

Great spot, great wine, top notch fish tacos

By Liam C |

Pictures on here don’t do it justice. Great wine, nice view of the beach, in the sun, and the best fish tacos I’ve had. Definitely recommend for a little afternoon stop off (bottle of wine) and something small / medium to eat.

Gorgeous and Understatedly Classy

By Adele W |

Absolutely delightful restaurant one block back from the boardwalk but a million miles away in atmosphere. We booked for dinner and they only had late spots but we popped in earlier to see if there was an earlier table and we were in luck. Impeccable warm and friendly service with really lovely interesting food.It was all good but I particularly recommend the roast chicken with black truffles. Our teenage son loved his steak and chocolate puddings. Not wildly cheap but a lovely haven if you are staying near the boardwalk and don't want to go up to Abbott Kinney.
