We stumbled across Dukes in green lake a couple years ago while looking for some good seafood reasonably close to Shoreline. Since then it is a regular in our date night restaurant rotation, and one of our favorites. The clam chowder is hands down the best I have ever had! They also have great seafood, steak, and a happy hour with fish tacos and burgers among other things.

All the food at Dukes is wonderful but the crab stuffed prawns are a must. No fillers in the crab filling. Love the pea pods and baby potatoes that came with the meal. Love the outdoor dining at the Greenwood location.

Do not really know why people like this place. Have been there twice, first time: with my family and did not like much all they have served. Second time with my friends and same thing happened.

Wonderful atmosphere with excellent service. Food was excellent. Clamps chower, can't wait to eat again. Blessed by the Pope Seafood Cioppino Fresh Pungeness Crab was excellent. Highly recommended.

Expected an average meal. But it was better than expected. Great outdoor dining on a nice day. Decent fresh seafood choices as well as burgers and salads. Choices for everyone.

Very nice local neighborhood Seattle seafood restaurant in Green Lake. A quintessential part of "old Seattle' has an excellent selection of delicious chowders, seafood, salads and other yummies. I had the "Lobster Mobster Pernod Chowder" which was wickedly rich and delicious. Parking is a challenge, however.

The quality of the food is excellent. The atmosphere is lively and the restaurant has character. Service is excellent. The only downside is price. It is expensive but you can watching dolphins playing outside.

The chowder is outrageously delicious! I had the crab bisque in a bread bowl which was very good. My husband had the " Award winning chowder" along with the Blackened Cod Taco. They bring out sour dough bread for the table with butter. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. We ate outside and the setting was perfect . This is the second time there and we plan to go back.

I really wanted some dungeness crab and the un-crab cake did not disappoint! The rockfish tacos were also very good. Our waitress was excellent. Next time we're in Seattle, we'll go back.

Spent a warm sunny day people watching at dukes of green lake Seattle,Green lake is a Seattle gem with 100's of people jog, walk, bike, skate or just walk the dog around it.Dukes is located on the north side of the lake with a nice patio to sit and enjoy the food and a glass of wine. The service is good and there chowder was very good and the bread was one of the best i have been served any ware .I all so had fish and chips along with good friend's it made for a nice day buy the lake but if you are going by car parking is at a premium and you might have to park several blocks away.

The food was good, but it is completely overpriced. A small cup of chowder can be $10 and fish and chips is between $20-30 for one piece of fried fish. Overall the food was tasty but very heavy. I think there is better seafood around at a lower price.

Always favorite spot for lunch with the view on the weekend. My favorites - crab cakes, lobster mobster chowder, cosmo, bloody marry, and grilled seafood platter.

We enjoyed the food at the Duke's near Green Lake, but man was it expensive. A small bowl of clam chowder is $7, and a crab cake appetizer turned out to be a single, not too big, crab cake for $13. That was my $20 meal - crazy! And I was still hungry. Also, street parking is nearly impossible in this very congested area. There may be a structure or something else nearby, but being visitors to the area, we didn't see it and had to park many blocks away. We won't bother with this place next time we're in town.

On a chilly November Monday night we decided on Green Lake Duke's. Happily, we found a parking place and were seated at a booth on this surprisingly busy night. Both of us decided on the Caesar salad with salmon. We loved this dinner along with the complimentary delicious sourdough bread. Andrea served us well, too, so we say, "Duke's is just ducky!"

I asked a local worker at the sky needle where locals go for seafood and he recommended Duke's. It was a great time! The food and atmosphere where amazing. It was a little hard to find in chandler's cove and had to pay for parking but it was worth it.

Great atmosphere, good service, good food. Excellent chowder and seafood. Lovely location on Green Lake. One of our favorite stops in Seattle.

Was in Seattle over Thanksgiving week and always love to have seafood while there since I live in Las Vegas. Checked out Duke’s reviews and they were all correct. The clam chowder is superb - the best I have had in ages. The salmon and uncaked crab cake were also yummy!! Service was great, prices were reasonable and I will definitely visit again when in Seattle

My boyfriend and I had a late Valentine's day dinner at Duke's in Greenlake and it was great! We sampled the chowders and liked the crab bisque and the seafood chowder. The rockfish tacos and crab cake were also really good. The only negatives were that the crab bisque barely had any crab meat and the staff let small children run around the restaurant without asking the parents to control their children.

We actually liked the one at Alki Beach so much, we went to the one by Green Lake. They both were equally good. Had some of the best seafood ever! Plan to go again when we are out there at Christmas. Service was good and helpful at both. It's hard to beat the beach location, but Green Lake is a great area and when the food is good, it doesn't matter.

We were staying at Green Lake and had looked on line for a nearby restaurant and booked Dukes using the Open table app. Very warm and friendly welcome and good advice from server on what was on the menu. Chowders were wonderful and main courses excellent. At end of evening presented with complementary sweets as it was our wedding anniversary which was an unexpected lovely touch which capped of a wonderful evening. Highly recommended

Staff was friendly, Service was good and the chowder was really good. I will defiantly be returning any time I visit Seattle.

Have been going to Duke's Green Lake for many years. Food is consistently good and always good service. Great good weather outdoor seating. Suggest pan seared salmon or Blacken Salmon Caesar Salad.

My son and I stopped here for lunch on Monday. While there, the chef and two other gentlemen (one of which I assume is the owner) sat at a nearby table sampling cheese. We were both pleased with the beverage selection, the sour dough and the view. However, the "main attraction" was a disappointment. My son had the Dungeness Crab chowder and I a trio sampling: Dungeness - Clam - Seafood in tiny plastic clamshells. I was find with the serving size; however the seafood chowder contained large chunks and these bowls are not user friendly with their wide soup spoons. The were rich but other than the large chunks in the North by Northwest Seafood chowder lacked chunks of clam and crab that define a good chowder. The appetizer we shared was a great idea . . . but again not "user friendly." I would suggest cutting the scallops into two spheres each and serve on six rather than three squares of toast for bite size servings - great flavor though. I would recommend the owner and his staff sit down and fix their chowders before worrying about cheese selections. Prices are reasonable but the food is not memorable.

Perfect place to start a trip to Seattle off with, great food, options and great service to explain and make recommendations. Our server even pointed out the Sandwich soup combo which was more economical than ordering seperately, very considerate on his part and helped us navigate with ease what we wanted as weary travelers. I would seek this place out again next time I am in Seattle! We were in town for a family wedding and recommended it to others who had a great experience as well, so thankful our Holiday Inn Express- North Seattle recommended it!

You will need to make a reservation. We couldn’t get in on Thursday evening but decided to go for Friday lunch. Very neat - we set outside.... watched the boats on Harbor & sea planes taxi in - very cool. Chowder was great very worthy of previous reviews. Sourdough bread was hot. We spilt a salmon sandwich to go with the chowder- perfect. We will be back!!!

Had the caesar salad and lobster chowder, both were very good but a bit overpriced for the size. Excellent sour dough bread. Very competent server who seemed to know the menu and sourcing quite well.

Dinner with friends in early January. The service was terrific and each of our meals was very tasty. Everyone chose a different selection from the menu and there were gluten free options as well. Our table was on the West wall, closer to the South end of the restaurant and on a very cold evening the air was rushing in around the window, something that can be easily fixed. The evening that we were present the place filled up to capacity and was quite lively.

We had dinner here last week. I had the crab cakes, which were quite good, and the "award winning" chowder, which I found to be fine, but not amazing. Based on the reviews here in trip advisor I was expecting something exceptional. It is not a bad choice, by any means, but we preferred Nell's, which is further south along the lake. Or visit was not helped by the the arrival of a very loud group of individuals, who made it hard to carry on a conversation. I'm not sure what the management could have done, but it made the whole experience less pleasant.

What a warm welcoming place this Duke' s Chowder House. The friendly staff, the unpretentious decor, and the delicious food make this a great place to enjoy a meal. The meals were a good value.

Dukes handled our party of ten nicely. Everyone enjoyed their food. I personally enjoyed the fish taco special. Everything was very fresh! Tacos were so large, I could only eat one. Bloody Mary was very good, but a bit spicy. Service was top notch and servers were friendly. We sat inside by the wall of fishing poles (very cute, but a little dusty.) there is outside seating that looked very comfortable wth great views.

Great IPA on tap. Wonderful clam chowder. Chipotle, salmon, avocado sandwich . All fresh, organic, line caught and cooked perfectly. Duke's is my "go to" when I'm in Seattle. Creative, diverse menu, informed, attentive servers and all of the Duke's properties are the same, OUTSTANDING!!! Don't miss out on this place. For special occasions or just a week night out when you don't feel like cooking. For lunch or dinner. Duke's will be your "go to" too.

I have been to the location at Kent Station as well... I was not impressed with the food at this location. Yes the chowder was wonderful. However, their "Fresh" halibut and chips left something to be desired. The halibut was frozen and then flash fried. I have had fresh halibut and chips and this was not it. The drinks were fine, service was fine, but the main meal overshadowed the event.

I have been to Dukes before but not at the green lake location. Nice people work there, Rachel the bartender is super sweet. It was a long day and I met my husband there for a quick bite. He suggested I try the chowder. I ordered that and some steamers, the steamers were awesome. My husband wanted a bite of my chowder and he decided to finish it off without even getting a bite! Rachel was right there to grab a bowl for me! The chowder is out of this world. Lots of clams and the potatoes are just the perfect size.

The Hampton we were staying with recommended & offered shuttle- so we tried it! Tried their sampler chowder, liked most of them but a good way to see what the fuss was! Tried several appetizers all We're good! Would definitely do it again!

We enjoyed their amazing award winning chowder with the family, accompanied with perfectly cooked seafood dishes. Also the service was outstanding, our waiter Kirk was just perfect! Definelty recommended

Excellent fish dishes. Super tasty chowder - with lots of fish and mussels - absolutely delicious! Dungeness crab stuffed halibut - super tasty and so was the macadamia halibut! Great dinner, Great place by green lake!

The chowders we had were all very very very good and justifies award winning lable. But a 6 ounce serving (small cup) for $8 is very expensive for a cafe setting. The bread was 'worth driving across town' but we've had better. Overall this is a fine dining price in a casual setting with an even smaller portion sizing than a happy meal order. Still, the chowder is very very good (clam, lobster, crab). Service during late Sunday lunch was prompt and very friendly.

The food was delicious we had the cioppino, grilled halibut with avocado sauce, crab cakes and fish and chips. we had excellent customer service and delicious mojitos. Did not disappoint. Also the happy hour menu is great and well priced. It was a beautiful day and we sat in the patio.

A nice place to eat. Great chowders and fish. Also they have good happy hours. It's a worthwhile place to eat.

I am from out of town and it took me a little longer than expected to arrive at the restaurant. They still let me have my table despite being 10 minutes late and the Happy Hour menu (still before 6 pm). I was very happy with this. The hostess communicated with my server that I was accommodating when I moved tables at their request. The communication is a good sign for team work. I think my server's name was Dan; he was friendly with good menu suggestions and on the ball with prompt service. He mentioned that the kitchen was always trying to make items more gluten free. I enjoyed the chowder but was surprised by the 'spicy' after taste on my tongue. The crab cake was a nice size. With the two dishes and a side salad, I was pleasantly full. My meal came to about $40. There will be a return trip the next time that I am in the area. I noticed that there was a fire lamp on the patio should you wish to sit outside. Hope this was helpful.

My brother recommended this restaurant and this was our first and only visit. My husband ordered the halibut fish and chips and clam chowder and was disappointed by the lackluster taste as the dish was expensive and reputed to be excellent. I had a chicken Caesar Salad and the chicken was very dry and overdone. My daughter's chicken strips were good. Service was very poor. The interior was pleasantly decorated and there is outside eating but this was not enough to make up for the poor tasting food.

Excellent service. Great kids menu in addition to great options for adults. We enjoyed the blood orange margaritas and mai tais. Dingy size clam chowder and crab topped deviled eggs were perfect starters. Even the child’s portion of salmon and regular salmon and halibut entrees perfectly cooked to medium. Again, service was faultless. Priced reasonably for portions, quality’s drinks service.

I can see why it won so many awards - excellent chowder! Do NOT order the deviled egg - $5 for half an egg with a piece of fish on top. Not impressed.

The waitress was kind and friendly, the atmosphere and decor was comfortable (dim lights, music not too loud), the food was really nice (higher quality ingredients), and the prices not too high. We really enjoyed our meal here, thanks Duke's! The location - by the lake - is pretty, too.

Great clam chowder. A must try if you are in Seattle. Other dishes that you must not miss are the salmon slider, cioppino and crab cakes. Beautiful outdoor dinning options. Be prepared to pay a little for hourly parking rates.

I cannot begin to say how good the food was at Duke's! Our server was a young man who is just fantastic; EVERYTHING about the food here was first rate. We were served sourdough bread that was excellent. We asked the server to sample a chowder, and he actually brought free samples of a couple different ones. We ordered coconut prawns that were as good as the best we have ever had, and a crab stuffed sole that was the most delicious seafood dish we have ever eaten. The prices are not low but we left feeling like we got every penny's worth and more of whatever we paid. We will CERTAINLY be back on our next visit to Seattle!

Some locals took us out to lunch on our weekend trip to Seattle. Duke's is a place they have enjoyed for years. It's right across the street from Green Lake, which is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy a nice day in Seattle. Duke's has a nice, friendly atmosphere. You actually feel like you are inside a boat. Lots of woodwork, and well stocked bar. The menu was packed with a selection of seafood. The prices seemed high, but since I wasn't paying.....I didn't complain. I ordered a couple fish tacos and a cup of clam chowder. The chowder came out first, and I loved every bite of it. Fresh, yummy warm bread came with it, and I sopped up every drop of that chowder with torn up butter drenched pieces of sourdough bread. Some of the best chowder I've ever eaten. I should have stopped there. Now, being from San Diego, I know two things very well - tacos and tacos with fish. These were not tacos. First of all , they were served in a blue flour tortilla. Two broken rules here......blue and flour! Tacos belong in a corn tortilla, and leave the color out of it. Next, the tacos were covered in some kind of cream sauce that drowned the flavor of the fish. They were either trying to hide the flavor or kill the fish. I was told the tacos would be a big serving, and looking at the tortilla, I was expecting to see it stocked with fish and other ingredients. It wasn't. There was more sauce than fish. I was pretty disappointed, and decided just to use the corn chips that came with the meal to scoop out the contents of the tacos. Even those chips were mediocre, so I pulled out the bag of Chipotle chips I bought earlier in the day in order to use the downtown bathroom. They actually improved the meal. The service was great. Our server was friendly, and I never had to wait too long for something. I would go back, but i would just make sure I order differently. I think I might do that, since this place has such a good reputation.

The outdoor deck at Dukes is one of my favorite places on a nice day. They have ample indoor seating too. They have the best clam chowder! I also really enjoy the Scallop, Shrimp & Crab Cake Mixed Grill.

Good food, great waiters, lovely to sit outside on a summer evening. Interestingly, didn’t see many people having chowder. First night had fish and chips and salmon. Second night settled for their UNcut salad. Extensive wine list, several cocktails and draft beers

Waterways Cruises had our company party at Duke's tonight! Wonderful time, excellent service and the greatest food ever. I think our group had everything on the menu and it was amazing!

Terrible service. Bartender and manager need to either not be in the service business or take hospitality classes. Do not recommend! It’s really too bad as Washington bars and restaurants are normally so great!

I got the "full fleet" chowder sampler. Really nice selection of different seafood chowders, each different flavor and seasonings. Super good.

Visited by myself tonight, service was great. I sat at the bar, ordered a beverage immediately and browsed the menu. Pretty much knew what I wanted but asked the bartender to pick between the Stuffed Salmon or the Crab Cakes. He said both were crowd favorites so I went with the crab cakes; I don't usually order them out so why not!? I started with the New England Clam Chowder. As a native New Englander I would give the chowder a B+. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I felt like it could use less spices and maybe chunkier ingredients. Then I had the crab cakes. On the menu it says that there isn't a lot of cake, mostly crab, and YES! They told the truth!! My meal was delicious. Again, a little too heavy on the spices but still yummy. Note to visitors, save room for the ice cream pie at the end!!!! Oh my heavens it was delightful!! I'll definitely be back!

Right by Green Lake this is a lovely place to dine at after a hectic day of sightseeing in Seattle. Only a short Uber away it is on the shores of Green Lake...a beautiful spot. Service is excellent as is the menu. I went for Calamari strips followed by Stuffed Halibut....delicious! Good selection of wines and a nice bar area. Open tables or booths.....well worth a visit!

Food was good, but nothing to rave about. Very good service. For the price I expected more. My wife felt the chowder was average. ( and she loves chowder) . Nice place , but nothing to make me want to return.

This is one of our favorite stops in Seattle. The food is always good. Spend a couple hours and then walk around the lake if it isn't raining. Highly recommend the chowder (all of them) and the sandwiches (all of them too)!

We enjoyed this restaurant from start to finish. Street parking, great customer service, and the most delicious seafood. You might not expect this from a casual looking place. I hear they have a good happy hour, but we were hungry for dinner. Our server was friendly and helpful. We agreed the food was some of the best seafood we have ever eaten.

Lobster Mobster chowder was delicious! Patio was awesome. Service was great! Great family outing venue.

We had dinner on the outside terrace of Dukes near Greenlake. Very good fish restaurant. Delicious and very fresh fish dishes. Reservation needed. Nice staff

We met a couple for a double date at Duke’s. We had reserved a table for four. We were hoping to be seated outside, but they said the wait would be twenty minutes, so we sat inside. We ordered: 1 Small Bowl of Award-Winning Clam Chowder 1 Off the Hook Stuffed Salmon 1 Large The Pope’s Seafood Cioppino 1/2 Mouthwatering Marionberry Pie (with ice cream) The award-winning Clam Chowder was just okay—I think I asked for too much pepper, which might have overwhelmed the flavor. The seafood in the Cioppino was plentiful and fresh, but the broth was on the bland side—more like a vegetable soup than the rich, tomato-based Cioppino I’ve enjoyed in San Francisco. My wife really liked her Stuffed Salmon, and our two friends were happy with their dishes as well. For dessert, we shared the Marionberry Pie with ice cream. I’m not usually a dessert person, but this pie was mouthwateringly good—sweet, tart, and warm with just the right contrast from the cold ice cream. Definitely a highlight. Our server, Mark, was very friendly, and it was nice how many regulars seemed to know him by name. The service was attentive, and the setting was comfortable and appealing. Prices were on the higher side, but that’s expected for fresh seafood in a waterfront location. All in all, a pleasant evening with good company and solid service—even if not every dish was a knockout.

We went to this restaurant for dinner with my family with great expectations. Though we were happy with some of the items but rather disappointed with some of the other items that were served. Just to illustrate: The Clam Chowder was excellent. The salad was somewhat mediocre. The fish and chips somewhat acceptable, but should have been much better. The lightly blackened pan fried salmon tasted sweet and was a big disappointment. The sourdough bread was excellent! The service was a bit slow but the servers were very friendly. The ambience of the restaurant and seating arrangements was excellent.

Great chowder and amazing food. This is a great place to grab some food and a drink and enjoy the view of the lake.

My wife, friends and I enjoyed a lovely mid-week lunch on a sunny April afternoon at this Duke's location, on Greenlake north of Seattle. This is a smallish restaurant, not like the Duke's on Lake Union, so be warned — I probably would be worried about long waits if we came on a busy summer evening. As it was, we were seated immediately and enjoyed ourselves enormously. The #1 attraction of this restaurant was the terrific staff. Our waitress was very cordial, sincerely friendly and very helpful. They claim their clam chowder is the best in the Northwest and while it is indeed tasty it's not my favorite. In contrast, we ordered Bloody Mary's and calamari and both were terrific. Two big surprises — the cocktails are served in glasses that tilt, like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Initially it's quite alarming but once accustomed to the odd look it's quite charming. Also, the Bloody Mary's came with giant prawns on a skewer instead of celery sticks. Believe me, now THAT'S a nice upgrade. Our entrees were also extremely flavorful; intense and surprising. You won't be disappointed there. Now, while we were there for lunch we were really looking for conversation — catching up on a couple of years apart. The staff at Duke's was very obliging and we sat there for hours, chatting away and without any pressure to move along or finish up. It made me feel very welcome. Lunch for four people with appetizers and cocktails approached $150, which isn't cheap. But, to my mind, the service and the quality of the food made it a very reasonable value. You'll enjoy Duke's!

My husband and I live near Greenlake and we go to Duke's at least once a month. Their chowder is the best! They recently added crab bisque. I had some last weekend and it was delicious! What I like about Duke's is that all their seafood is wild, not farmed. They even have grass fed beef! I've had almost everything on their menu and my favorites are the scallop and shrimp chop chop salad, stuffed halibut with crab, the tacos, wild salmon with goat cheese, and the crab 'un-cake'. Service is always pleasant.

This was our first time at Dukes, and it was recommended by the owners of a B&B we were staying at, locally. In the interest of full disclosure, our visit didn't start off well...after being seated, it was a solid ten minutes before anybody contacted us...even for water. It wasn't busy, so there really wasn't a good excuse for the delay. Once our server made contact with us however, the rest of the evening went fine. We had the Chowder and Fish and Chips, and both were perfect. The fish was fresh, hot, and not at all greasy; the chowder was probably some of the best I have ever had! So often, there seems to more potatoes and celery in clam chowder, and it seems you have to really hunt to find any clam meat...not at Dukes! The Chowder was FULL of large pieces of very tasty clam meat...VERY good!! The cost is on the higher end of mid-priced, but worth a little higher price for the great food!!

Wonderful atmosphere, great seafood, creative menu, fast service. We dined on the patio, and came here twice in our four day stay in Seattle. Food was superb.

Awesome clam chowder, crispy tasty fish and chips. Fun menu, nautical atmosphere, good service, a great stop for a meal. Gotta try seafood in Seattle, go for it.

A good restaurant - had both indoor and outdoor seating. They didn’t offer many scallop choices but halibut was good. Very relaxed & enjoyable.

The weather was beautiful so my husband and I sat outside and enjoyed the view. The staff was super nice and attentive. Great service. The sour dough bread was to die for, especially with the clam chowder. I would recommend this restaurant. However, I think the prices were a little high. It was happy hour so we each drank a beer and ordered 2 entrees; the dinner was $85.

We had a nice little lunch with my sister, who was visiting from out of town, This is a very pleasant location at the north end of Green Lake in Seattle. Duke's is always dependable for quality and the restaurant bills itself as "upscale" so, although the place looks casual, the prices are on the high side. For 3 of us, the bill came to $85 before tax and tip...and we didn't have wine. I was a little disappointed with my entree, which was scallops sauteed with herbs served with polenta over asparagus. Frankly, it was on the bland side. I cook scallops fairly regularly and saute them with finely chopped shallots and garlic. Perhaps,Duke should adjust its recipe. The clam chowder which preceded the entree was very good and an ample portion for a cup of chowder. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. Service was acceptable; it was busy there. The atmosphere is perfect for a chowder house at the north end of the lake. Reservations for lunch are recommended.

Being from Seattle I am a great fan of chowder, order it every place we go. My rating for their clam chowder has gone down. why - seems to taste mostly like lots of spices and herbs, very little chowder taste. But all the regular meals are awesome. Just dont recommend the chowder any more.

We ordered takeout. Chowder was really good. Salad was dry with no dressing and was very disappointing. The Prawn and Crab was a complete rip off. $5 for ONE shrimp and one microscopic piece of crab meat. Opening the take out countainer and seeing that was extremely disappointing.

I had the salad, chowder (lobster) and crabcake meal, all of which were very tasty. I would definitely recommend. Nice outdoor seating too

I had a halibut dish and it was wonderful. The cocktails are great as well. It's difficult to find parking.....but so worth it.

My whole family agreed, one of their favorite restaurants in Seattle!!! Each person got something different, from the Ravioli's/Scallops to Blueberry Salmon to All Hail Ceaser Salad with Salmon to a Cheeseburger, everything turned out perfect. What amazes me is the variety and nuances of each plate, every detail paid attention too. The wine list is fantastic, the chowder is wickedly good and the sourdough bread is amazing (the boys, with some help from me went thru 3 loaves). Great job Duke - great environment - great food!

Near the water in the Union Lake area of Seattle, this restaurant is a neighborhood gem. We heard the chowder was award winning, and it certainly deserves the awards. I also tried the grilled shrimp, which was delicious. The service was terrific, in spite of a huge weekend crowd. We were waiting for a friend to join us and his arrival was delayed by traffic. The waiter couldn't have been kinder, just kept checking in to be sure we didn't need anything. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was really good. We particularly loved the clam chowder. It was probably the best we ever had. However, we thought for a bowl of soup, it was way overpriced. Try it at the happy hour price (which was still high).

I had been to this restaurant a few times but not for close to a decade. It’s a little pricy but the food and ambiance was great. Staff is super friendly and I saw them talking and joking to what were clearly some regular customers which always inspires confidence and lets you know you’re going to get a good customer service experience. My food was cooked just how I had asked and was delicious. The veggies seemed nice and fresh which you always gotta look out for and there is complementary bread which is another sign of a cool restaurant. Will be coming back soon next time I want some seafood!

Three of had a halibut appetizer, various chowders, a salad and a lobster sandwich. Everything was excellent and the staff was attentive.

Nice atmosphere, outside seating. Service was excellent, knowledgeable, friendly. Clean tables. Food was great. Drinks good. Overall good experience, but was pricey.

We were travelling to Seattle to board cruise ship and used trip advisor to find restaurant. Simple bar and grill atmosphere..bread, beer, halibut and service was awesome ! Heads up this restaurant has more than one location.

Our dinner here was excellent. The seafood was fresh and the portions generous. We sat outside on the patio and could see dolphins playing in the area. Will definitely be back!

We came here on high recommendations from a friend who lives in Seattle. We had to try the chowder sampler first to decide which option to get in a larger size. Definitely worth it to discover new ways to enjoy chowder. The burgers were amazing also, fresh local ingredients you don't find in most restaurants. You can tell they place a high value in the quality of ingredients, you get what you pay for. Excellent gluten free bun for the hamburger. Great place for couples, right on the dock, darker ambiance with fireplace. We will be back especially for the chowder!

We were here on a Friday night around 6:30. We had reservations so were seated right away. In addition to some wine, we tasted the seafood chowder ( 2 oz which is small) a salad and the delicious Copper River salmon special which we split. It was plenty of food. Our server was attentive but not overly so. A nice evening.

Two things super impressed us that we did not realize about Duke's Seafood. 1) The addition of the super filtration system that made us feel safe eating inside for the first time in a year. We were completely prepared to eat on the patio, in the wind, but being able to eat safely inside was just a wonderful bonus. 2) Their commitment to providing safe gluten free food. As the mother of a celiac child, it is nerve wracking to find a safe place and trust what is happening in the kitchen. We were so happy to hear about the restaurant's desire to create GF foods, like the chowder and to prepare food safely and separately in the kitchen. Our server explained that the owner has a family member with celiac and so they have started making important changes-so appreciated! Food was great, wine was wonderful, delicious deserts, 5 out of 5!

This was my favorite meal in Seattle!!! I had the Blackberry Salmon with red potatoes and snap peas. The salmon was amazing!!! I didn't think I liked salmon, but this was super sweet and moist. Also we got the pie. The Marion berry pie was mouth watering!!! It was delicious!!!

The only reason that I am not giving the chowder house a terrible is because of our excellent service. The fish and chips were right out of a box of frozen fish stix. The crab cakes were soggy. The signiture chowder was a salt lick. and to ad insult to injury it was pricey.

We were visiting Green Lake park during trip to Seattle, and had intended to get pizza for supper. But we saw Duke's across the street and it looked very inviting, with the beautiful spring evening and the outdoor seating. We wound up eating indoors, but had a very enjoyable experience and would certainly come back again if the opportunity presents itself. A table was available and the service was prompt and cheerful. My wife had the 3-course cioppino, salad, and fish tacos and I had the grilled seafood plate with shrimp, scallops, and dungeness crab cake. We found it all excellent, just the right amount, and we topped it off with a scoop of cappuccino ice cream.

Couldn’t be better. Great setting, great service, great menu choices, great food. I’d known of the chain for years, but this was the first experience I had and it was terrific.

This is not a fancy schmancy place - but if you want great food and fantastic service, this is the place to be. I started with the clam chowder - it was fantastic, and tasted my colleague's lobster chowder - also great. For my main course I had a simple piece of grilled salmon which was perfect. The sourdough bread was also wonderful. I was jet lagged and exhausted, but this food made up for it.

Had their blackened cod taco and it was perfect! Had a Bloody Mary that was super yummy. Staff and accommodations were wonderful. Definitely visiting this place again.

Being from Maryland, my wife & I are connoisseurs of great seafood. The award-winning clam chowder @ Duke's is outstanding, as were our fish & chips. We were met with a genuine warm & friendly staff in a charming atmosphere with generous portions & very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Started with a bowl of the chowder, which was just as good as I had been told. Very creamy, rich, and full of flavor. Followed that up with the stuffed Halibut which was served with new potatoes. Great flavor all around, and not any of that dreaded 'fishy' taste you can get with seafood. We will be back!

For a lunch on the patio, we had wonderful food. The clam chowder, spinach salad, and macadamia halibut were as good as anywhere. However, the prices were quite high. Bowl of chowder, $18, two piece fish/chips, $26, and halibut, $40, and this is for lunch. The food was great, but this restaurant is not a fine dining environment. For better prices and maybe also great food, try Ivar's Salmon House? The bloody mary was unremarkable--underspiced and minimal vodka taste.

We enjoyed the chowder and the freshness of the seafood. The server was pleasant and checked back on us. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. You can sit inside or outside. I recommend it.

We ate here on our last night in Seattle, in fact our last night in USA. Staff were really friendly....in fact we got sweets for nothing and a half price bottle of wine!! We ordered a fish medley and crab cakes and they were delicious. Could have done with more (very unlike America!). On the whole couldn't fault the night. Great location, right next to Green Lake and a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to others ... That is if you like fish!!

Stopped in here for some famous chowder with some friends when visiting Seattle. We arrived for 'Happy Hour', but we're to,d no tables available in the bar! So we had a table with a view only to note that the 'bar area' was the next table over separated by a rope set up! Seems a bit cheeky to limit the 'happy hour' to half the place. Anyway the chowder was good, friends has a sampler of 3 others and enjoyed most. The main came out with my order messed up, but we were tired, hungry and decided to let it slip. So can't tell you what the fish tacos were like, but the fish and chips was ok $ the salmon was good too. Desert was huge and lucky we shared, none are made in house, but brought in from a local bakery. The pie we had was delicious. Overall a nice setting, slowish service and the happy hour set up is a bit cheeky. I would visit again, but probably just a quick lunch.

Tonight I tried the sweet potato fries for the first time along with a grilled chipotle sandwich. Those fries are awesome! Wonderful neighborhood place on a hot summer night or visit for award winning chowder on cold winter nights. My favorite is the Pernod Lobster Chowder. We always have great service too from the enthusiastic staff. The Alki Beach location is literally across the street from the beach. Great deck too.

I have eaten at Duke's about half a dozen times while in Seattle on business, because it was near the B&B's I like to stay at; the food is consistently good, and the service quick and attentive. I've observed that it appears to be a place that attracts locals/regulars, despite being fairly expensive. It gets quite busy but has a warm atmosphere. I

A sangria and junior BBQ bacon cheeseburger make for a perfect lunch in the summer sun. Wait staff is very attentive and food is excellent.

Food was original and cooked well. Difficult to find parking. Salmon was cooked as ordered. I don't have a hundred words to say so excuse the following. D F h u h t b f tttt g Ty h for a t r f f ee

Just had a delightful lunch at Duke's. Great setting on Green Lake; casual atmosphere; quality food and service. My wife had a blackened salmon salad with the salmon seasoned just right and the dressing perfect. My seafood salad had a tasty combination of grilled shrimp, Dungeness crab, nice greens and dressing. The sour dough bread was a treat as was the seasonal beer. The waiter was attentive, but not overly so. Not cheap, but well worth the extra dollar or two. We plan to go back for a dinner during our visit to Seattle.

We stopped in to try oysters. We're vacationing and had been running around all day and found this area for seafood. The patio is large with nice views. We each ordered a different dish to try. We also ordered an app, soup, and decided to each try a couple of raw oysters since they didn't have the rockefeller. We asked the server what types were available and he kindly entertained our inexperience with this. The soup is very good and so are the field greens. The cod fish was surprisingly mediocre. Greasy and obviously frozen. The stuffed halibut was ok. The salmon Pasta was nice. The server forgot our oysters or... I'm not sure what happened. We just let it go since we had already received our entrees. I think for the prices charged there should be better outcomes food wise. Ambiance is great, but there's more to upscale dining than water views. This would not be my first choice in this area again. The soup, salad and salmon are worth a try. Oh, there's a charge to park! Even on Sunday evenings after 7. Another thing I didn't get about this place. Maybe there's a problem with parking here? We might have not used the lot since everything was wide open but we were already parked and walking in when we saw the parking pay station.

When I first "discovered" Dukes I loved it. I travel to Seattle at least 4 times a year and wouldn't miss a trip to Dukes. The atmosphere is that of a casual seafood bar/restaurant with some nice boating related decor. Bathrooms are always very clean. The sour dough bread hasn't changed but a lot on the menu has been reworked to be less generous and interesting. The chowders were great but on last trip Fred didn't see any clams in the chowder and I returned mine because all I could taste was the bourbon (probably cheaper than crab to taste). My heart aches for the good food Dukes used to serve. I don't know why it is so bad when it once was so good. I lam looking for a replacement for my sea-food fix!

and well worth the trip. The chowder is enough to stop you and make you slow down and savor each spoonful. We worked through the appetizers and salads and main course and had a great time. I would put this place on a list of must-visit restaurants if you are looking for the best example of Seattle seafood preparation. All is not lost, there are burgers for those who want cow.

I ate here by myself once while visiting Greenlake for my first time. I had a ceasar salad with salmon on it and the small clam chowder. It was the first sunny day I had seen all through March so I sat on the patio and the view was great. The service was great this time. Just be warned if you don't eat meat: There is bacon in the clam chowder. I did not know until I tasted it. I did not see that on the menu. The waitress said "well it is nitrate free" which I do appreciate, not eating nitrates as well but geez... I don't eat pork. Anyway my bad, I did not ask I guess. I did still like the place enough and my husband LOVES seafood so I brought him back a month later and he loved the food. The menu is huge and the wait staff was very slow this day. Luckily we were not in a rush but my husband has a hard time slowing down - even on vacation sometimes. It was rainy so we sat inside but it was still nice and cozy. All in all the food is very good (I was more careful ordering this time) and I recommend this place. There is a separate bar area and it seems like they have a good happy hour although we did not partake either time. The neighborhood is great and the parking was easy on a weekday afternoon, early evening we parked right out front. I know on weekends parking is an issue though especially sunny weekends.

My sister and I were going to Amsterdam and our flight was delayed for a day. My sister lives in the Greenwood area so we went out on the town as we were already on vacation. We went to Duke's and had a great dinner. The light the outside heater for us as the temp dropped while were there waiting on the patio for our dessert. Great dinner and fast, friendly service. I highly recommend the Moscow Mule.

Possibly the best chowder I have ever had!!! Nice decor and atmosphere. Really good Long Island ice teas!! Alittle spendy! First time we went service was a little slow. Definitely go again!

Ate there twice -- yummy, great service and reasonable cost. Had the three dinghy chowder variety and some amazing crab cakes just as we arrived in Seattle after a long day. Terrific!

I had the clam chowder for lunch, it was excellent . The best I've had . I was only there once for lunch, but would recommend it. Nice location, on the dock.

Went to Duke's during the week for dinner. Nice and quiet in the restaurant and we were very pleased with the extensive menu options to meet everyone's tastes. Great that they have a gluten free pasta option, too. Service was spot on and cocktails were perfect. Highly recommend for any time of day and any group size.

We had a family party of 12 celebrating a UW graduation. The food (crab cakes, clam chowder, sourdough bread, dessert), service and wine list were excellent. The good sized patio was very comfortable and provided more space than would be inside most restaurants.

I have eaten here twice now and the service and food is always outstanding. On Easter Sunday Duke's serves a brunch. We didn't have reservations but they managed to squeeze us in and the food was delicious. I had the French toast and my husband had the eggs Benedict. My daughter had their famous clam chowder. Everything was perfection!

Ate lunch and ordered chowder and a main seafood dish. Food was good but is very expensive for what you get. Would recommend happy hour instead of lunch if you are looking for a taste without the spendy meal prices.

Never having been before we were unsure of what to expect but what we had was Great Seafood with what for us was unusual taste combinations that really worked. We would not hesitate to return.

Great place for a pint of Manny's and a nice PacNW dinner. The fish and chips are very large so unless you're very hungry, 1 piece is sufficient. Our favorite was a 2oz sampling of all their chowders which we shared. They're all great but the clam and chicken & corn chowders were our favorite. Great waitstaff and bartender.

now this place has got chowder i like ivars but this place needs to open up more places, seattle is well known for chowder and this place backs that up

My party of seven people is still talking about the amazing chowder and food as well as service we received at Duke's.The patio seating is perfect for families with children. We were very pleased with everything.

Came here for the Chowder and wasn't disappointed. Pleasant, attentive staff. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. The Chowder was outstanding. Thick, creamy and full of taste.

Very attentive staff and delicious meal. We had the ribs and crab cakes which were perfectly cooked. They strive on local good quality ingredients which is refreshing It was so good we went there twice on our Seattle trip!

I came here with my family on a trip up to Seattle. Located in an awesome shopping center, this place is very cool. The ambiance is great. It feels like your getting your seafood right of the port. Really cool atmosphere and the waiters were fantastic. Get The Chowder, right off the bat. Best chowder I've had in my entire life. The seafood was very good, and they have great vegetarian options as well. Local beer selection and great drink menu. Can not recommend this place enough.

Choweder was great but the chicken ceaser salad could have been better.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I was visiting Seattle for business and was invited there by a friend. The best thing I like in the restaurant is the service. I really enjoyed it. The food of course was excellent. I ordered the 8oz Parmesan Halibut.. Amazing, I would really recommend it. My party ordered the Alaska Wild Salmon, and liked it as well.

This is based on 2 visits about 2 weeks apart (2 different birthday outings!). The first visit was superb (would have given 5 stars), and the 2nd quite good but not as outstanding (so settled on 4 stars). I had the raviolis stuffed with crab, with scallops on top - both visits! It seemed better the first time but maybe I was just expecting another miracle! At any rate, fine food - good hot breads and salads/sides. We were all pleasantly porked but made room for dessert. Their huckleberry pie with ice cream - heavenly! Others had chocolate eclairs - very good. Not too pricy considering the volume of food we had. Main courses pretty much in the 20's, and sides / appetizers can be expensive if you go gung-ho, but we settled for a simple (and excellent) salad for (I think) 6 or 8 bucks. Ambiance is family friendly, but nice enough for a more intimate dinner. Not a huge restaurant, which is a plus. On our first visit, the service was simply outstanding - a super-attentive (but not intrusive) waiter who really knew his stuff. Second visit was a bit spotty, though not a problem since we were not in a rush. Would definitely go again.

the staffs are very friendly & very accommodating... as we're heading out 3 staffs thanked us for coming... I love the chowder & I love the view outside. A good place to eat, relax, enjoy the view. In addition to that they're open after midnight 😊

Good and reasonablly priced. Make a reservation on the weekends or you will have to wait. The clam chowder and the fis and chips was good.

One evening I looked quite awhile online and in person to find a good Seattle seafood spot. After finding Duke's on day 2, I am convinced this is the place to go. Better priced than Ivar's or other Seattle seafood spots, with some unique menu items. The salmon sliders were fantastic, as was the Northwest Chowder.

I first ate lunch at Duke's on Green Lake 24 years ago and have eaten there 4 times since then. If I lived Seattle I would eat there regularly since this restaurant captures the essence of the city, at least for me. It is always a memorable meal. Food and service never disappoint. This time we all ate outside on the nice patio. We ordered various seafood salads and some wonderful bowls of Dungeness Crabby Baby Bisque and their signature North by Northwest Seafood Chowder, a humorous homage to the Hitchcock film I presume. Sitting inside is quite comfortable, too, but sit outside if the weather is nice since you can catch a glimpse of the lake. This a very relaxing establishment, and I can't wait for my next trip to Seattle to eat here.

Of the 5 different chowder options, I opted for the traditional (award winning) clam chowder, and it was fantastic! My husband had the flight of 5 chowders and he loved the lobster and crab bisque. Great ambience, fantastic drinks!

There is nothing more pleasant than lunch on a patio, in the sun, in the fall, in a nice neighbourhood, with wife and relatives, eating Dukes seafood chowder. Could have sat here all afternoon but then others would not have been able to enjoy their chance to eat. The chowder at Duke's was likely the best we have tasted for ages. The service was just great and friendly. Had a very tasty craft beer to go with my chowder and the sourdough bread was perfect as well. The only downside was the wasps who are gathering whatever they need for the cold months. They could have chosen another table to bother. However, we will be back.

We spent one night in Seattle (Green Lake area) and wanted a nice seafood dinner. Unfortunately, we felt the food was just average and overpriced. The chowder was tasty but our other dishes were just OK for the price. Not excited to return.

Stopped in twice at this local seafood house. Enjoyed both visits. Good chowder (befitting the name), varied selection of entrees, attentive service, relaxed atmosphere. For anyone looking for casual dining and seafood to boot, Duke's is your spot.

This was voted the best chowder in Seattle in 2016 &, from my rather limited experience, I'd agree! I got a flight of chowders to sample them all &, while all were yummy, the kickin' crab & the New England Clam were amazing! (So much so that we bought more on the spot to take home.) Also all of the chowders are gluten free. They also have a very extensive menu. We found our salmon dish to be a bit over prepared (why gild the lily here?) but still good. We went to the location by Green Lake & the atmosphere & service were very pleasant.

Duke’s is one of those restaurants where I’m always asking my husband: “Why don’t we come here more often?” We were out & about wondering if we should make lunch at home or go out to eat. My husband said a burger sounded good, then I remembered I had my Birthday gift from Duke’s in my email. (Don’t you just love getting access to your email from your phone?) 😊 We had chowder and crab 🦀 cakes to start with and what an ‘Oh-sweet-melted-on-your-tongue-amazing’ crunchy delight! Light, delicate, and a crunchy exterior. The chowder was gently seasoned and not overly fishy! I got the Alaskan Salmon with sweet pesto sauce and my hubby had the burger. I had a Bloody Mary which was served in a cute glass that was angled, which gave me an opportunity to have some fun taking pictures of my drink & texted them to my daughter with some clever quips! Ha ha ha ... We have sat outside on the patio in summer and near the fireplace inside during winter! The rockfish tacos are incredible as are their playful drinks they come up with! There are some wonderful regulars on the menu and then some fun seasonal items! Once you go, join the email list (not too many emails, so that’s nice!) and you can celebrate your special day with Duke’s staff too!! We went midday and the crowd was minimal (no waiting & parking on the street out front)!! I don’t visit as often as I should! I’ve always had a good experience!

It was a lovely day and we had been on a nice walk around Green lake. Stopped in for early dinner. The service was friendly and fast and the drinks good . The food was blah . I had a salad and instead of having the seafood skewers on top I agreed with waiter and had the meat chopped in. Big mistake. Their was nothing there. It was a lovely date so I did not want to make a fuss at the time but feel annoyed thinking about the bill. My BF had crab cakes and they were good but again small. I think this location has become just about the location. Do not expect great food .

We used TA again to find a good seafood restaurant in Seattle area. Duke's has a great location right on the water and although parking was a little of a challenge we persevered and are glad we did! We arrived just before the evening crowd and that was a good thing. It got quite busy. Our server was very friendly and accommodating...until the end. It was frustrating to get the check, she was so busy by then with all of her other tables we were kind of forgotten about. I told my husband if she came around that side of the room one more time with something for someone else I was going to grab her! But up until we received our food she was good. The food. Delicious. Loved the clam chowder, the bread and our fish. It was pleasing to the eye and to the tastebuds. Atmosphere is very nice and cozy. Great choice!

Beautiful views and the fish tacos so fresh and delicious. Had the seafood chowder and excellent soup. Friendly waiters and enjoyed immensely!

One of the best salmon meals ever, cooked with sweet Washington cherries. Also great fish tacos, fish & chips, etc. But salmon covered with cherries is hard to beat.

My husband and I started with coconut shrimp...very fresh tasting! The sourdough bread was to die for! We had our favorite beer we can only get in Seattle.....Alaskan Amber! Also, I had the most delicious salmon....best I've ever had, on a bed of fettuccine. Even the cabbage salad was tasty with an asian flare, that came with the shrimp. We were there in time for happy hour, which made the prices better. We're going back again tonight!!!

It was an average rainy day in Seattle and my tummy just needed something warming. I headed down the road to Duke's Cowder house. I have lived around the corner for over a year but have never visited Dukes. Well I have to say that I'm glad I did. I ordered the lobster chowder and salad lunch combo and it definitely was exactly what I needed. I was offered bread on arrival that was freshly baked and it was warm and delicious. The lobster chowder was thick and chunky with a beautiful rich lobster flavour and the salad was dressed to perfection. The acidity from the salad dressing was a perfect combination to cut through the richness of the chowder. The service was warm, casual and welcoming, perfect for the restaurant. The location, right across from Lake would be beautiful on a sunny day especially sitting in their outdoor seating area. Did not come here for over a year but have now been back two days in a row and I am sure I will be back again very soon!

Love Dukes... Sunday brunch might be one of the best in OC. They have EVERYTHING from seafood, to omelette bar, fruit salads and all deserts imaginable. Great atmosphere with live music etc. This is great for a large group to enjoy bottomless mimosas and an ocean breeze.

We were able to get in without reservations which was a bit lucky. Our waitress was knowledgable and attentive and did a good job of explaining the menu options. The atmosphere was charming and a table by the window gave us a nice view of Green Lake.

Good seafood place. I had the fish tacos, but I found the tacos to be "wet" so I just basically ate the insides. Just ok. Other people's seafood look good though. We had a reservation for 12, but the staff had trouble getting us at one table because other diners were lingering, but we made do. Would go here again, but order something different the next time.

We had some amazing, and more importantly to our family, gluten free clam and lobster chowders at Duke’s today. The sourdough bread was great and the service was fantastic. We also had a cherry-glazed filet mignon that was perfectly prepared. Highly recommended.

I came here after reading positive reviews online. The place was still pretty busy even at after 8 pm. The service was very good with good advice on the menu and beers. The waiter (Phil) also cleared things away and topped up water without feeling he had to constantly intervene, which is always welcome. I went for a combo of halibut and chips and clam chowder. The chowder really was excellent - flavourful, chunky and full of meat. The panko-breaded halibut was meaty and nearly perfectly (tiny bit over) cooked and the chips (wedges) were crispy and fluffy inside. There was a pleasant slightly curried coleslaw on the side. My only minor annoyance was that I was part way through the chowder when the halibut arrived. The total was around $43; a bit pricey but good value for a nice meal (and a great pint of IPA).

Five different chowders, available in bread bowls. The marionberry pie was fantastic as was the chowders. Service was attentive and friendly

been a long time since we last visited: still cozy with good seafood offerings. Loved their small cup of chowder, followed by the seafood salad, but with the tip/increased minimum wage figured into the bill, it was way too pricey for a regular lunch.

This place has been around for years! A trip to sit on the Patio on a beautiful summers' afternoon after a walk at the local Zoo (Woodland Park Zoo), an gentle end of the day with a robust feeding of the stomach and Soul. Chowder; Clam and the NW Cioppino Styles, our first choice of satisfaction. With the wonderful Sour Dough bread shared...just a perfect start. We added the "Prawns Del Cabo Wabo" as a refreshing addition to our relaxing experience! The 'bang' of spice, just perfect with the addition of Mineral Water and a good Beer! Definetly a place for fresh food that has been a consistent 'go-to' in our visits to Seattle for years! Their 'formula' works! The only caveat, at times, is parking challenges. Yet worth the walk in this relaxing and lively neighborhood favorite.

We were looking for a good dinner after being disappointed with Cruise Ship food for a week and were really pleased with Duke’s. The fried clam appetizer was outstanding, lightly breaded and just the right amount of cook on them, perfect. The Halibut was very good but the Clam Chowder was epic! They hand out the Seafood Chowder recipe but We want the Clam Chowder recipe. The wait staff was excellent, Happy hour drink prices were very reasonable and they made a darn good Sazerac. Not to mention the location which is right down on the water and there’s the opportunity for a stroll along the docks . If/when we are in Seattle again we will be back!

We sat at the bar mid afternoon and Jordan was a very pleasant bartender we had two very cold local draft beers we returned later on that evening with four adults 2 children Will served us and was extremely pleasant the menu is excellent as well as the food One note people say that the urges are some of the best they we had one was ordered at our table and it looked more that fabulous!! Will return Hunterlaroche.com

The food here was fine. Nothing special or outstanding but nothing to complain about. Decent seafood nicely cooked.

It has been a while since we have been there. We are glad to report that it is still delicious. We had the clam chowder, lobster chowder and duchess combo. The service is quick and friendly and the chowder was great. This is a never fail place. Enjoy!

Met a friend here for lunch. Had fish and chips (me) and fish tacos (the other two. All were very good, done well, and promptly served. Nice portion size and the service was excellent.

I was disappointed with a brunch at Duke's. Two piece fish (very ordinary) and chips with fries and a some kind of salad that wasn't good. And for $17. Bloody Mary for $10 was good. I expected more for those prices.

Love those sunny days in Seattle when you can sit outside. Duke's at Greenlake (or Lake Union) is perfect for those! enjoyed the Ocean Fresh Salad and a Chicken Caesar. Great with the warm bread on the side. Great choice of wines at Duke's and love the fact that they support local and organic farmers and winemakers!

First impression was comfortable neighborhood gathering spot known by all the local school. It is not a stuffy white tablecloth restaurant but oh so comfortable and a great selection of menu items! The server, Chelsea was very friendly and welcoming and quietly attentive. Our party of four were visiting for the weekend and discovered this place through a local recommendation. We enjoyed wonderful clam chowder that was hearty enough for a light dinner. Another choice was a chopped salad with shrimp and scallops and she said it was the best salad she had ever had. Fish and chips prepared with halibut was very tasty as well as another dish called Salmion Bites, similar to blackened seasonings. A Bloody Mary was served with skewered shrimp instead of a stalk of celery, classy presentation! Selections of great beers rounded out our choices of beverages. We were very pleased with our experience and on our next visit to Seattle we will head straight to this great restaurant!p

Met friends here. They are from Seattle. Loved the food. I had salmon. So good. My husband had the clam chowder and it was the best he had. Loved the view of the Space Needle behind the yachts.

When my mom was visiting, we came here to get some great seafood and great seafood we did get! We grabbed one of the last seats outside and enjoyed the people watching and views of the surrounding areas. I had been to the Duke's in West Seattle but this was my first time at this location and it was right on par with the Duke's quality of food.

Went there for dinner. Great service from the hostess, server to buss boy. Ordered the classic chowder.... Excellent!!! A perfect combination for me with the spinach salad. My boyfriend had the fish tacos... the blackened one was amazing! Overall, I would go back again.

Had their Vegan Combo Impossible Burger. SOO GOOD! The side salad was also delicious with the almonds and avocados. Great place for Vegans!

Stopped in for quick lunch and sat in the bar. Service was good. I was disappointed that my favorite grilled crab sandwich was no longer on the menu, replaced with a cold crab sandwich. I ordered a two bowl chowder sampler with the Lobster Mobster Pernod and the Ragin' Cajun Chicken Corn. The Lobster Mobster was delicious, rich and creamy, while the Ragin' Chicken was a little too thick and heavy. The bowls really are sampler size so I also ordered the Dungeness Un crab cake appetizer. It came on a plate with lime aioli and a small arugula salad. My bill came to $21 for a small amount of food. I was surprised to see the cost of a 2 piece fish and chips was $17.50. The food was very good but don't expect to get out of the restaurant without a substantial bill.

Hubby & I had been in SEA a few yrs ago & remembered how great the crab cakes were & they did NOT disappoint! Best we've ever had! We were not at all impressed with the service, had 2 ask several times 4 bread & refill of water. The halibut was a bit bland & overcooked. Overpriced place but excellent 4 crab cakes & beer. To be fair, we didn't try dessert. Very crowded spot.

We enjoyed an evening with friends at Duke's on Ruston Way in Tacoma last Saturday evening. One of our guests arrived early and secured our table for seven which was impressive as this place gets really busy during happy hour and beyond. After our group finally arrived we were greeted by our server who was truly awesome during the entire evening. Having said that, the food ordered ranged from steak salad, to fish and chips, to kid's meals of cheeseburgers and chicken strips. All were predictably good but the initiative for this time during the spring was the Mexican prawns. Okay...I'm a South Texan from the Gulf Coast and couldn't help myself so, I had to experience the prawns. Duke's goes to great length to put out a "special" menu to describe the season of this delectable shrimp. The item I ordered was a plate of Mexican prawns with baby potatoes and asparagus. The shrimp were no bigger than what you can buy in a bag which is frozen at the local grocery store and what's more, there were not seasoned; merely sprinkled with condiments to make the dish look pretty. While no one else complained during this visit, I would have to say that the food is awfully overpriced to be so average...

I didn't get the Chowder. Seriously, I don't know what I was thinking. I was with friends, we were laughing and having a great time... And then... I just did not order the Chowder. Sorry. So this review is for some OTHER dishes. First we had the Crab un-cakes. Not lot of breading, hence the "un-cake" moniker .just a nice lump of crab, a little tasty filler and good enough to quickly cut through haze of too many mediocre meals. I knew then we were in for some great food. I had the Parmesan/ Asiago Halibut. Like the menu says, it was dreamy, My friends had various berry/fish combos, which were nice but the whole table agreed, the Parmesan Halibut was what we would come for the next time we are in Seattle I know, Asiago sounds too strong for Halibut, so I don't know what to tell you. It was the best fish I have had in Seattle. For full disclosure... I only drove from the airport. But STILL well worth the drive.
Great food!
Went to the newest location in Tukwilla, WA. A very attentive server made suggestions and she was right on. I started with a three dinghy soup, Crabby Baby Bisque, Lobster Mobster & North by Northwest-all were quite tasty. The Macadamia Nut Halibut was fabulous! I will definitely come here again next time I am in Seattle.
