A great taste of NZ

By Cheepdisney |

Was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday night. Easy to walk to location on 30th Str with great vibe and indoor and outdoor dining. Good choice of menu items - really enjoyed my lamb burger and my sis loved her calamari and especially the beet salad. Would love to see an NZ traditional non- alcoholic drink there, though: Lemon and Peroa. Would recommend for a meal anytime of the day. Really lovely staff.

New Zealand Eats Serving Daily Brunch, Happy Hour & Regular Menus.

By Michael M |

You can’t miss this tropical garden enclosed restaurant when you drive down 30th St and yes it is just as fun to sit in the booths that transport you out of the city and into a jungle treehouse of sorts. There is a daily happy hour from 3-6pm, which is rare now a days, but very welcomed. If brunch is your thing, they server brunch daily until 2pm! Aside from the lush beauty of the place, this New Zealand eatery is super dog friendly, so bring Fido along! The service has always been great all the times I’ve eaten here, from host to servers to bartenders. For small plates, I’ve always enjoyed the Lamb Skewers, Sweet Pepper Seasoned Skinny fries, and Hummus & Veggies, varieties of Sliders, and of course the Pretzel Bites. For entrees, I’ve always enjoyed the Nicoise Salsad with its generous portion of seared Ahi. The Beet Salad is also very good and the Steak & Caesar always hits the spot. I’ve also had the Bare Lamb Burger and Nelson Chicken Sandwich, both are good choices too. There’s a wide variety of dishes available on their menus, be it brunch or not, so everyone will have a great time here.

Great atmosphere, great food

By ramja |

Fantastic little restaurant in North Park. Great for outdoor dining - unusual, but deliciously prepared dishes. The shrimp and pineapple salad is exquisite. We shared that along with the Lil Bitties sliders and it was perfect for two for lunch. I highly recommend this if your looking for a casual place that's mildly romantic, and inspires conversation.

Unique tree house environment

By Carlsbadhappy |

We had dinner here with our daughter and her boyfriend on a Saturday night. We loved the physical environment of this restaurant! ! Reminded us of a treehouse. Very unique. The design of the restaurant is heavy on natural wood, varied levels, lots of greenery, and creative lighting, especially in the redtroom. The menu was creative with unique offerings. Among us we had salmon, lamb skewer, chicken club sandwich, and the Pork Bahn Mi, and calamari appetizer. Everyone loved their meal except the lamb skewer was judged as somewhat skimpy on portion. Most prices were under $20, so quite reasonable. We are going to bring friends here in a couple of weeks because we felt it was do unique. We would recommend this restaurant!

Who said you couln't eat well in America ?

Delicious ! Great friendly service and steak cooked to perfection. I love the fresh skinny fries with mushrooms. Petite Cesar's crispy salad and a glass of good rosé. This for less than $30

Great food

By Laura T |

Delicious food. Rachel seemed a bit irritated we asked for the curtains to block out the Sun, but then she warmed up.service was a bit slow but nice. The lamb skewers were great but a little spicy. The burgers were great! The Portabella mushroom fries were very good. The kids were really happy with the kids chicken tender. the salad with salmon and kale was great. Everything was very good and we will definitely go back.

KIWI fun and food in San Diego!

By jjjSD |

I recently discovered Dunedin restaurant in North Park, which has a New Zealand flair to the food. Similar to British comfort food you will find meat pie and chips, fish and chips and my favorite Shepherds Pie! We were seated on the outdoor patio on a lovely sunny Saturday morning, and though we actually went for breakfast and had a really hard time deciding between the traditional fare and the breakfasty dishes. We ended up with the wild boar burger with pesto aioli, and the croque madam sandwich. Both were super delish! It should be noted that there were tables on the patio with a built-in fire pit so now we want to come back at night and sit around the fire! Service was great and the pricing was super reasonable!!!

better then it looks in pictures

By Tyson C |

I had wanted to come to this place forever, but never really tried. It's way better then the pictures online make it look. They should really push to update the pics online. I wish I had a better one. We went for happy hour which was amazing. We split the slides, just perfect and the pretzel bites. Overall this place is so cute.

Delicious food with a great selection of beer

By Tinky164 |

This place is delicious with a fantastic beer menu too. They are very welcoming so were not worried when we turned up at 5pm for 3 kids for dinner. A really cool bar with great decor. It's worth a visit

Cute neighborhood eatery!

By travelingCAgal |

Yummers! Had my first Impossible Burger here! My husband and daughter liked their entrees, also. We dined on the very cozy outdoor side patio under the heaters right next to the indoor bar/dining area. They also have another outdoor dining area in front of the restaurant.

Not So Great, Mate

By groupwww |

This is an okay place in a neighborhood full of restaurants. The menu doesn’t look like anyone agonized over it. The food was okay (I’m being generous here) and while our waiter was charming he was clearly out of his league and our food came piecemeal and staggered so we couldn’t all start at the same time. We shared plates but none of them were really good (avoid the tamales). This is the place to go to when the wait is too long at the other places.

Tried a spot

By Kristin B |

We tried a new spot tonight, this seems to be popular with the younger crowd. But we fit in just fine sitting outside under the heater lamps. My husband ordered a sword fish sandwich on grilled sourdough bread and he loved it. I ordered the kale, jicama & carrot salad with a side of grilled salmon and it was outstanding. We had wine at happy hour prices on a Saturday!

Dinner at Dunedin - A little bit of New Zealand in North Park

By 1010Reggie |

We stopped by with our family during vacation for a relaxing, casual dinner. Restaurant was busy, but service wasn't hampered by the demand. A wide range of menu selections made the choices plentiful, yet adventurous! Craft beers were a must. Fried Green Tomatoes entree was the favorite at the table, just hedging out Little Bitties for first place. Go and check it out. Pretty fun place with good food in beautiful North Park. :)

Exotic jungle atmosphere

By mitchellmarie |

Such a cute little jungle oasis, we just stopped here for cocktails, great mix of music, great patio seating. Good looked great and reasonably priced would love to go back and try the food sometime

Treehouse Restaurant!

By Tiffany B |

This place is so fun! My boyfriend and I came here for date night and had a wonderful time. The waiters provided great service and the food was delicious. My favorite thing has got to be the ambiance. The decorations were so beautiful and green, they made you feel like you were eating inside of a treehouse. We loved both of our drinks, all of their cocktails are really creative and unique. I'd highly recommend getting the s'mores dessert. 10/10!

New Zealand Wonder!

By Seth A |

We stopped in late Friday night and what a treat! The hostess was very friendly and got us sat quickly. Immediately after sitting down, you feel transported to a lush New Zealand landscape; they have all sorts of plants, wooden architecture and ambient lighting to complete the look. Our waiter, Xavier or "X", was great! He knew the menu inside and out and had great recommendations! I've never been to New Zealand and have no idea if the cuisine was authentic, but their burgers were awesome! Super juicy, well seasoned and cooked to order. My only negative thought was that the draft beer prices seemed too high, but the pros definitely outweigh that. It was truly a unique experience and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something different!

Definitely not to be missed

By Stuart R |

Oh my, the absolutely best Ahi burger ever!!! (Fresh, seasoned well, tasty. , good portion). Regular burgers and chicken also excellent. Great appetizers, fries and wow the portobello fries. Waitstaff was excellent , cannot wait to go back !!!!!!

The best lamb burger

By traveltime111 |

This was the best lamb burger I've had in san diego. I asked for medium rare and it was cooked perfectly with bleu cheese topping. The manager, Larry, recommended the Mission beer which was again superb. I liked that the Manager, Larry was also taking care of guest orders as that shows great team work and professionalism. He also has excellent demeanor. The atmosphere is really nice, chilled out, not noisy, so guests can also chat with each other and relax.

excellent addition to NP!

By SKnBK |

We've been going here since it opened and have enjoyed delicious menu items every time... this last time, it happened to be burger week! What a deal! Try it.. great patio, great service & great food.

Cute, unique restaurant. Good food and serive

By Claymie531 |

Stumbled upon this little place in search of breakfast. Really unique decor, great outdoor deck and other seating Service was fast and food was great. Unique items for kids. They make their own strawberry preserve that goes on the pb&j French toast and came on the side of my DP breakfast for my toast... amazing!

Awesome experience

By Pam B |

We had a lovely dinner on the covered porch and the food was delicious. We tried the chicken and lamb kabobs as appetizers and then had swordfish and beef burgers with awesome portobello fries. All the food was excellent, the service friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere very enjoyable. Can definitely recommend!!

Food great, service VERY laid back...

By Patricia H |

We loved the food and the layout of this restaurant, but the service was so laid back that we hated even leaving a tip! The other thing to note is that this area of San Diego loves their dogs, so if you don't you might give this place a wide berth as the spaces between tables are small and there were three dogs around us when we visited! It wasn't a problem for us as we love dogs but even so... I feel bad for people who aren't dog lovers.

Best New Neighborhood Restaurant

By Darrell92104 |

Have been twice in the past two weeks, with different friends. Not bad, since it just opened recently! The wait staff is friendly and competent, and the food is delicious. They took a small neighborhood deli and remodeled it into a marvelous New Zealand style restaurant. Great fun!

Nice atmosphere

By extravelagent |

Came for happy hour on a Wed night- $8 happy hour food. Pretty decent. It was a nice night so we were sat outside. Had the lamp and beef sliders and pretzel buns. Beer and a glass of white. The sliders and slides were good, the pretzel bites not so much (kinda hard and chewy). Beer was good and I was told the wine was good. Waitstaff were EXCELLENT. Definitely attentive. For both of us it was $20+ per person. Pretty decent and nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back

Unique and Delicious

By Carrie H |

Dunedin North Park, park of the Bareback Grill chain including Raglan Public House and Queenstown Public house, does not disappoint. The food is delicious and on point, with high quality burgers, tasty salads and New Zealand faves. Even their breakfast is delicious! Be sure to get an order of the matchstick fries to share and try all their tasty dipping sauces. The atmosphere is laidback, fun and unique, with exposed ceiling beams showing insulation made of recycled denim and a general Tiki type feel. There are various unique seating areas as well as some more traditional tables and bar seating. They only have beer and wine for now, but the selection is great and their champagne cocktails round out the drink menu nicely. This is definitely one of those places you bring out-of-town visitors, if only to impress them with our interesting dining variety in San Diego. And for the fantastic food, of course!

Refreshing

By Sharon C |

This place was recommended by the lady at milestone running store and on a whim I tried it. It was a lovely way to catch a meal. Nice trendy atmosphere, comfortable not pretentious. Food was tasty, I'm recommending the salmon and kale salad because that was what I had and it was refreshingly tasty. Extremely well priced. Satisfied!

Not really New Zealand Eats, But Still Good

By Shane H |

I’m a kiwi so I feel kinda qualified to comment. The place has a great vibe and the staff are very friendly and attentive. The menu says the food is New Zealand styled, I can’t say I totally agree with that BUT the food is very good. Parking is a pig because the place is in a residential area so you may have hunt to find street parking close by.

Excellent Saturday Happy Hour!

By 897antoinettep |

Went for happy hour from 4-6 pm on a Saturday. They have an extensive list of $5.00 draft beer, wine and several food items for $5.00. We tried the chicken skewers, the pretzel balls with jalapeño cheese and the lamb slider. The lamb slider is the best! It’s lamb with mint jelly, blue cheese and beets. The combination is so good that I wanted to order the full-sized lamb burger! We definitely plan to return! The atmoshere is open with indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is dog friendly and located near a residential area with plenty of street parking. The staff is friendly and efficient...they work together to keep you satisfied, and don’t pressure you to move on. It’s a great place to chill with friends. If you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to stop in for a bite and beverage....you won’t be disappointed!

Good North Park option

By 48Buddy |

Small seating areas inside and out with cozy fireside tables on the patio. The inside has a bar and high top tables. The night we went food was good, service was slow. It was a Thursday night after work. They offer interesting menu options that are essentially meat and potatoes- burgers, lamb, and a whole French fry section. We enjoyed it and I'd visit again!

Love this NewZ Spot!

By Native61 |

A great ambiance with lush greenery and eclectic decor. Tables on the lower front patio makes for some great people watching while enjoying their fabulous food. I had the tamale steak benedict and it was a super flavorful twist on the traditional dish. Steak was prepared to a perfect medium and it was tender. My husband had the NZ meat pie and fries. Tip: if you're hungry, for a few bucks add another meat pie. The puff pastry is filled with a mixture of ground lamb and beef, with cheese. Very tasty. Not a big fan of the seasoned salt they use on the fries because it takes away from the great tasting pies. On the way out I saw they have $2 mimosas on Sunday so I guess we're going to have to go back. Service was a tad slow, very friendly staff and having to park on the street can be tough depending on the time of day you're there. Wasn't bad at the noon hour.

A surprisingly charming restaurant and a great meal

By Martha M |

We stopped by to grab some lunch on a break from a high school football game. From the outside the restaurant looks incredibly charming - outdoor seating, lots of wood, dog-friendly. We wound up eating indoors - the indoors is small, but still charming. There is some seating around the indoor/outdoor bar and 2 tables. The staff was so incredibly nice, the food was incredibly delicious. I had the Miso Tasty sandwich (chicken with a great sauce that had the tiniest, tastiest kick to it). we split the small fries. The strawberry lemonade is fresh and a real thirst quencher on a hot day. I regret we don't live in San Diego so we can go back to eat at this restaurant - THAT'S how much we enjoyed ourselves. Check it out - you will not be disappointed.

Been here 2x and returning soon!

By SDSpartan |

Love this North Park restaurant- have tried dinner/happy hour and Sunday brunch. Great 30th street location and great atmosphere and decor. Love it! Very open/outdoors dining feel. We have had welcoming and excellent service on both visits. I don't know why we waited so long to try this place! For HH - had some great NZ wine and I had a wonderful salmon salad. DH had a HH special of sliders which he said where excellent. Decent portion sizing. For brunch - love the $1 mimosas which were available until noon - tasty!!! Had a fried green tomato, burrata and poached egg combo - wouldn't have normally ordered, but it sounded intriguing and it was awesome!!! Perfectly cooked and very tasty. DH had a steak, shrimp and grits dish that he really enjoyed. Menu not the largest, but seems like options for all. Very good. We can't wait to return and will be there this weekend!

Great atmosphere delicious food

By MeLoo2 |

We went here on our family trip to San Diego. All seating was outside with eclectic decorations. I had the tomato and burrata salad which was delicious! Fried green tomatoes and a poached egg? You can't go wrong. Others had burgers and sandwiches which they all enjoyed. Highly recommend this spot. Fun and different drink options too!

Dunedin Did It Well This First Visit

By Kevin H |

Your location Dunedin New Zealand Eats 3501 30th St, San Diego, CA 92104 New Zealand Kevin Hensley 6442 points   6 minutes ago H And I at his suggestion made our way to Dunedin on August 4 at approximately 7pm we arrived. First impressions from the outside was positive as the pictures I'm posting suggest. The aesthetics could be considered a Polynesian influence. Alot of wood and surface areas which provide varying depths contrasting Dak/light colors, the plants/vegitation and aspects of the decor. There are 3 separate areas which diners can sit, each providing unique experiences in their configuration, aesthetics, and exposures. An outside area parallel to the side walk at ground level, an elevated area on the side street intersecting 30th. And inside near the bar area. Ordered two of the beers, both the Maui Pineapple lager. I've had it before and if you are a fan of pilsner/lagers this beer provides a smooth crisp, refreshing and hint of pineapple experience. For the main course I will just comment on my order the salmon, quinoa, and grill vegetables. The quinoa and arugula mix was fresh and light, presented well and with the light taste on the palate. The salmon was appropriately warm/hot, cooked well not overdone but a more medium and topped with a nice portion of sauce which complimented the salmon with tartness. The grilled vegtables were firm and appropriately warm and nice in their texture and light taste. I ordered the peach cobbler and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size and with both the taste and texture on the palate, not overly sweet even with the ice cream topping. The service was pleasant and efficient but in fairness the restaurant was only moderately busy at most. Overall the aesthetics, service, and food quality and portion size to price considerations for me were all very positive. What I didn't like was the fact that the bathroom even though clean enough, lacked paper towels or equivalent to dry hands. An air hand dryer is the offer or toilet tissue/nothing. As I've read, in effect your hands are dried with a blower but the bacteria/germs are cast off to the surrounding area nearby leading to contamination. Overall in my opinion the Dunedin is worth a repeat visit and would fall in the range of 4.3 - 4.5 stars.

Looking for something new to try

By Cac |

We were very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant! I went looking on the internet this afternoon for somewhere new to try, & was reading the reviews on this establishment. We were not disappointed. I had the meat pie with fries, & my husband had the fish & chips. Both were the perfect serving size, & tasted delicious! I had the fresh lemonade, & my husband had a beer. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the atmosphere & the service. Will definitely be back. We both highly recommend!

Great food

By Beth P |

So enjoyed the food in this little place. Excellent lamb burger and best ever chicken pot pie. Do not pass up a chance to eat here.

Dinner

By Jo91910 |

This is a low key, delightful place to meet friends, have a drink or a meal. The food is delicious and I was able to order my burger as a lettuce wrap. The staff is amazing, they are so accommodating. The staff was very attuned to our needs without being overbearing. Our waiter answered questions and made great recommendations. We sat on the patio and had a TV available to watch so we could stay in touch with college football games.

Cool place!!

By kukana m |

This place is awesome. The ambiance is great and the decor is cool. We got seated on the patio with heaters outside but it got too hot so we had them turn the heat off. We had some happy hour drinks and appetizers then dinner. The staff was amazing and cheerful, no complaints there. The restroom was cool with the ceiling lights and decor of being in an underwater coral reef. It’s street parking so you may get lucky with a spot nearby or be like us driving around for a spot but we’d go back again there again.

This Place Rocks North Park!!!

By SDSpartan |

A must if visiting North Park or really anywhere. Brunch, Lunch or Dinner or Happy Hour - all excellent. Great indoor outdoor atmosphere and I like the decorations. Funky music is played. Several TVs in the bar area for sports, etc. Cordell is awesome!! Service from all has always been great. Food - all good. Some of my favs: Nicoise Salad, Burger of the Month, Fish burgers/sandwiches, Turkey Chili, Poached Egg and Fried Green Tomatoes, to name a few.

Meh

By aventurabarb |

Went with two friends visiting me from LA. All of us got different dishes -- and all of us were disappointed. It's not that the food is *bad*...it's just kinda meh. With so many other great choices in San Diego (and in the North Park area where this restaurant is located), there's absolutely no reason to ever go back

Really good food and Great service!

By jzisinsd |

Went for the first time last night and the food was very good but most of all we were incredibly impressed by the service. Super friendly and casual people that wanted to make sure everything was just right. It’s the service your hope for but rarely get these days. We will be back soon just for that.

Great Vibe

By Jo91910 |

This a great place for drinks with friends. A good menu and for those who want to watch some sports on TV. The staff is tremendous, very eager to accommodate your time with them. Seats are available outside (blankets available if it gets chilly). All seats are covered, so there is protection from the sun. I can not say enough about the staff/servers. They are great. Please try out this hidden treasure in North Park. You will not be disappointed. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beer selection is varied. I especially liked the fried Portobello slices and in the evening the salmon and quinoa is great!

Hogs and Heffers

By vagabondginger |

Before the lockdown there was generally a wait to get a table here so I took advantage of their recent re-opening to snag a table right at 3:30pm for happy hour. The outside seating is surrounded by plants yet I could still watch the street action without being too close to it. I love blond beer and I love sliders so this made for a good happy hour for me after almost 3 months of the infamous 2020 Covid-19 quarantine. The mini burger was thick and topped not only with bacon but also avocado and it came with a generous portion of seasoned skinny fries and a couple of good dipping sauces. The music was good and at a nice relaxing comfortable volume to fit this oasis setting. For my first time out it was perfect and Jessica did a great job serving me. The tables are separated by roll down panels, one side was a clear vinyl and the other side a bamboo so did not feel closed in at all. Further away was a table with a dog. This is my main concern now is finding outside places to go where dogs are not among the tables as I abhor dogs anywhere around food. Seems now that owners just can't go out to eat without bringing their dogs with them. But at least this one was the only one and far away so it did not ruin this experience for me. Thank you Dunedin and I wish you the best as you regain your business following this pandemic lockdown.

Great food and atmosphere

By Herewegoonvacation |

Dined here with the family. Everything we ate was great. Service was fast. Food was hot and tasty. Great beer selection too. I’m definitely coming back.

Unique New Zealand Experience in San Diego

By Jeff M |

Interesting restuarant with some unusual New Zealand dishes. Sun was an issue sitting outside in the late afternoon.

We Liked It!!

By Kathleen H |

What a super place! We five ladies, all old friends, are always on the lookout for a great new place to have our quarterly lunch, and this hit the spot! Dunedin Restaurant in North Park is a charmer. Our waitress, Jessica, was outstanding. This young lady was not only super sharp and on the ball, but she also had the quick repartee to match. How fun! I had the yummy "lil bitties" sliders, and my friends all loved their various dishes. It's got a quaintly cool vibe and indoor/outdoor dining options. P.S. - We loved the Ladies' restroom - so cool!

Disappointed

By Donald S |

While visiting our grandson, we stopped here for an early supper. We were able to get seated right away. Their menu is impressive (with typical expensive California prices). My wife, son and grandson all seemed to be happy with their selections. Myself, not so much! I ordered a grilled chicken cob salad. It was delivered with the chicken missing. The waiter took it back and brought it back with the chicken. As I was eating my salad, I ran into four pieces of chicken grizzle through out the salad. Now I’ve had a lot of different chicken salads at home in Michigan, and all over the United States. Never have I ever been served grizzle. This seems like a I’ve been served a meal prepared by a cook, not a chef. My advice: be careful of their chicken entrees.

Sunday surprise!

Got here by coincidence and discovered one of the beat burgers and salads in the neighborhood! Had a great time, great service and the music was superb! Will come back many times!!! :P

Coolest decor I have Experienced in San Diego!

By galcurious |

I found Dunedin (pronounced Doo-Nee-Din) (New Zealand or Kiwi) while looking for a dog friendly restaurant in North Park, a seriously fantastic neighborhood for any travelers looking for diversity, San Diego history (recent and evolving to all my friends from older parts of the USA and elsewhere!) and great food and especially craft beer. It's on a corner lot and is completely green with bushes, plants, flowers and interesting coverings made out of either steel or aluminum. They have a covered picnic bench type seating, and then the second floor has outside hi-boy bar seating with bar stools with backs (yay) and a covered dining area. They are SUPER dog friendly - we brought our gal Nina in and instead of sitting down below the manager welcomed us immediately to a seat outside but with shade covering. Our wait person was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have an eclectic craft beer menu and they had an alcoholic kombucha so I decided to get a buzz and probiotics and ordered it: watermelon, chile and lime. It was kind of like a sour beer. The menu was expansive and a New Zealand take on pub food. I ordered the meat pie and the hub ordered the sliders. We really liked the skinny fry option although I will say hub said his skinnies were too salty. My meat pie was small but perfect for me and very tasty with the ground beef. The best part of this restaurant to me was the place itself. It has real wood siding, bar stools that look like champagne corks, TONS of green stuff like succulents, tropical shrubs and bushes, an amazing carved wood wall and even the restroom was just so enticingly done. I also liked that of their two single restrooms, one was M/W and the other just W. Just saying. BTW, we were there for a late lunch on a Saturday. That meant we arrive around 2:15. We learned at 2:59 PM that their Happy Hour started and they had a great menu of appetizers (the homemade pretzels and jalapeno cheese sauce looked inviting) and all their beers (except the alcoholic kombucha) were $5 each. A pretty great deal. All and all, I will go there again. They gave us a 2 for 1 brunch coupon and the manager informed us they have 3 other New Zealand themed restaurants locally: Raglan, Queenstown and one other I think in Pacific Beach. Lots of lamb, meat but also many veggie options for my best friend who's a vegan. But again, the reason to go this restaurant is to check out the awesome greenery and attention to detail in terms of the decor. The bar appears to be a huge chunk of quartz or granite. Really pretty.

Love everything about this place

By SimeyTravels |

I like everything about this place. The location, the indoor eating area, the patio area, the service, and the food. This was stop #4 on Gut Buster: North Park edition. We snagged a table on the patio, grabbed a couple menus and started the "what do we want to order" discussion. Now to be fair, this was stop # 4. Meaning, we'd had something to eat at three other places. My husband and friend were totally down to order a boatload of food, while I was secretly wondering if I'd make it to the end of the night. Regardless, the men ordered the Lamb Skewers and the Prosciutto & Burrata. We supplemented with a couple of adult beverages, and then took advantage of the gorgeous weather, great company and inviting atmosphere as we waited for the food. The burrata is served with grilled bread, arugula and is drizzled with a balsamic. I had some of the cheese and a lot of the bread and arugula. The men ate the prosciutto, and declared it to be delicious. The lamb skewer platter was served with hummus, cucumbers and pita. This is where I went to town. Between the bread on the cheese platter and the pita on the skewer platter, I was in heaven. The hummus had a wonderful nutty flavor (it was a pine nut hummus, so that makes sense), and the cucumbers paired nicely with that. The lamb had good flavor, but I only took one cube off of one of the skewers. Again - men had meat, men loved meat. I definitely want to go back. I know they're affiliated with Queenstown, and I've been to both of their locations, so their menus are "known" to me. I like that Dunedin has a bit of a spin on the menu, and I love the location. This was a great find, for sure.

Not What I was Hoping For

By KleenKloset |

I heard that Dunedin NP was on par with Queenstown Public House. Sadly, it is not. We visited on a chilly evening and were seated on the patio, near the heaters. However, the heaters were not working well, so those of us dependent on it's warmth were out of luck. The waiter seemed unconcerned, or unable to address that issue. Both my dining partner and I have (now) common food allergies - tree nuts, soy, gluten. The menu is not helpful in navigating offerings if you have allergies. There are no nifty "GF" indications after a menu item. We had to rely on the waiter who seemed uneducated about what the items contained, and a bit bothered that we required information not readily available. To be fair it seemed that they only had two waitstaff and a full restaurant, so perhaps he was feeling the pressure of that. On the waiter's recommendation that he would love the pot pie, my dining partner ordered it. If you have been fortunate enough to have the chicken pot pie at Queenstown PH, do not order the pot pie at DNP. You will be disappointed at the lack of flavor and gluey gravy. My appetizer of lamb kebab was fine. All in all, from wine list to service to quality of the food, sadly we were underwhelmed.

Totally outstanding!

By Matt C |

While in town we stopped in for a Sunday night dinner and everything was outstanding. Happy hour is 7 days a week which was a nice surprise. We started with some sliders and pretzels, both very good. The kids loved their kids dino nuggets; I mean a real classic, right? My wife had a salad she loved while I had the tuna burger which was probably over a lb hunk of tuna cooked to perfection. One of the better meals we had in SD over the course of the week. The waitress was so nice and the laid back atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for your kids to run amok, haha.
