Hubby got the spinach and mushroom enchiladas he liked them. I got brisket tacos and it was so below average. I expected with a rating like they have to be delicious! NOPE, I got 2 flour tortillas with a bit of brisket (no season) and NOTHING ELSE! Yuck, beans served with tacos was ok. Otherwise below average. Won’t eat there again 😕

Being from out of town, we trusted the trip advisor rankings and went to E-Bar. Despite not having much around the area, & being unkown to all of the local peole we know, the E-bar was a great choice. Their Tex-Mex food was outstanding and I will definitely be back again when in Dallas. We visited on a Friday evening and got in just before the rush. Service was great & the shrimp tacos were as good as any I've ever had!

Went for business travel and they are open late which was a huge plus. We 3nded up choosing them because it was rated so well on TripAdvisor. All of the food was great, so don't think you could pick a wrong dish. The service was top notch, friendly and fast. Would recommend for sure

If you like a place where everyone is friendly and the food is great come here and ask for Eddie he will take care of you A

I do come here regularly because I really love the food (that's reason #1). I literally crave this food when I am out of town especially. Reason #2 the service is amazing. Ernie, Eddie, Jorge, Kat, Cliff, Tess and Chad. Love them all. If you come in from out of town you may tell them that I sent you. This place has a late kitchen too. 1am. And they serve breakfast all day! I have tried about every thing on the menu and it's always delicious. The migas are my favorite! I love them. They have mimosa and Bloody Mary specials on the weekend for brunch. It's a great location. Lots of free parking and they also have a touch tunes juke box for those of you that know how to use it. ;) Reason #3 is I love their TVs here!!! They have 11 inside and 2 outside on the patio. The patio a/c out on patio in summer so no smoking on patio but u can outside. They also have it heated in the winter. But I love coming here to watch NFL on Sunday's because they have every game on. And the same for MM. ;)

What's the big deal? Was not impressed. Just another joint out of many. Nice atmosphere but food nothing special.

Went to E Bar for lunch and had a terrific experience! Cliff met us at the door, served us and brought us the check with efficiency and great hospitality! Chips and salsa-yum! We were given a sample of the queso and it was light and delicious. My husband got one of the lunch specials while I had Jorge’s tacos. Everything was fresh and so tasty! Loved the relaxed atmosphere and the friendly vibe. Good margaritas too. Do yourself a favor when you want Tex/Mex! Go to E Bar!

We came after the lunch rush ended and were immediately seated. It took awhile to figure out what to order (lots of unique taco options including oxtail) but we were quite happy with our choices: Blackened Fish tacos - three came on the plate with a cup of black bean soup and cilantro lime rice. The rice was a bit bland but the black beans were firm and flavorful. The tacos were the star of the plate with well seasoned tilapia, blackened instead of just grilled, shredded cabbage, crumbled cheese and a tasty white sauce. Chicken enchiladas - two came on a plate with Mexican rice and received beans. Chicken was tender and ample inside the corn tortilla and covered with a good enchilada red sauce. Both dishes were filling for us and reasonable priced. We liked the casual atmosphere inside with two sections of seating and a big central bar. additional seating was located outdoors under a semi enclosed patio. Parking could be a challenge during the peak dining times as it was full when we came. My only nit pick was for our waiter to pay a bit more attention especially when we ran out of water more than once and he was no where to be found.

Eddie still serves a great plate of Tex-Mex! Great service and a no-hastle location. Also has a great patio.

Best margarita in Dallas and a great Tex-Mex menu makes E Bar a “several times a month” dining destination. Biggest surprise may be the house salsa that will have you asking for another basket of chips

My friend invited me for lunch and the food was AWESOME! Service was great as well! The chicken tortilla soup is sooo good! The chips and salsa were the BEST! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Very friendly staff and great food. The place has good amount of parking in a popular area. Best semi casual Mexican restaurant in a while in Dallas....

I chose this place off of its reviews however this Mexican place was truly a Tex-Mex restaurant, that didn't seem very authentic and special. It didn't have much decoration, which made it stand out either. The food was average Mexican food but honestly wasn't the best Mexican food I've had. Would not return.

Went here for lunch. Great food, great service, great atmosphere and cheap. What else can one expect from a dinning experience?

Recently stopped in on a Sunday based on reviews. The main indoor part of the restaurant is 90% bar and tvs outlined by tables, and there is a nice enclosed patio attached. Even at 5:00pm the bar was full and a birthday celebration was in full effect. Since my young teen was with us we opted for the patio. It was very comfortable and quieter. I will say there were no other children in the restaurant and this seems like a pretty great place to drink margaritas and try out some good TexMex. Our food was very good... I had the spinach mushroom enchiladas all of which was made with fresh ingredients. My daughter had the brisket tacos, and the hubby the cheese enchiladas. Our server was very attentive. Overall I think this is a great place for adults with a great atmosphere if you wish to stay and hang out but not a place young teens or small children.

This place won and award naming it best TexMex so we went to try it out. It was ok but not great. There is much better out there.

Subtler randomly upon here because we wanted Tex Mex and it did not fail. The tables were full with people which was a great sign. They give you chips and your own side of salsa and regularly refill it. We had the enchiladas and it was very tasteful. Decently priced too.

The food is always great the patio is small but nice. They have a nice little bar too. It's tucked away in a place that isn't readily seen and known for restaurants so it's not too packed.

My husband and I are regulars at e-bar. Definitely my favorite Tex-mex place in DFW. Try the e-bar queso and grilled shrimp.

We were checking out Benny Jack's antiques and Dolly Python vintage store across the street. We almost went looking for a fast-food place, but noticed E Bar, and decided to give them a try. It was a decision that we would not regret. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted, and given our choice of sitting inside the restaurant, or outside on the air-conditioned patio. It was late afternoon, and over 100 degrees, so I had my doubts about how cool a patio with clear plastic tarp around it would be. We wound up opting for patio seating, and it was delightfully cool. There were a couple of other tables seated there, but it was not overly noisy. My wife wanted a mixed drink, but doesn't do tequila. After she explained this to the waiter, he spoke with the bartender, returned to the table, and recommended a mixed drink called a Ruby Slipper made with rum and some other great ingredients. It was served in a copper chalice and was delicious. I had a frozen margarita topped off with Grand Marnier, and it too was delicious with an appropriate amount of alcohol in it. For our late lunch, we both ordered the flauta platters. They were incredibly tasty. The portion size was perfect, it was very visually appealing with fresh ingredients, and tasted great. The service was outstanding as well. We can't wait to eat hear again on our return trip to Dallas next weekend. Highly recommended!!!

One of our favorite Tex Mex spots. Best Carne Guisada! Great place to watch sports at lunch also. Fish Tacos are also some of the best

Came here because of the great reviews. Above expectations. Food was really really good and portions were... Unreal.. Order waaaaaaaaaaaaay to much. Good food, good wine and margaritas, really good prices and great service... Definitely be back if in town again.!! 👍 👍 👍 👍

The food at E Bar is the Best, The fajitas are so good! The shrimp tacos are mouth watering delicious! Everything on the menu is so delicious, You will need to revisit here several times to try everything! The margaritas are the best as well as all their drinks! The staff is so friendly and you can tell they work hard to serve you! We go at least once at week! I can’t forget the chips and salsa! YUM!!!!

We are from Boston and wanted authentic local food. This was it. Outside dining. Inexpensive and copious tasty food. We loved it. Give it a try. You won’t be sorry.

We met our niece's for an afternoon meal before we continued our trip to the airport. My niece suggested this place and it was perfect. By far the best combo fajitas that I think I have ever eaten. Fantastic margaritas and queso. Perfect wait staff. We may have to eat here on the trip home. I would order the exact same thing.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local proprietor, and we tried it for supper at around 4pm. It also happened to be half-price margarita night (Tuesday). It was already fairly busy at 4pm, but we didn't wait long for food. The service was great, the food was excellent Tex-Mex, and margs were super. Value for food was very good, and parking is free in the parking lot behind the restaurant. We will be back sometime!

Everybody was raving about this place and I love good Mexican food so we decided to check it out. Maybe it was just our server and a unique experience but when I asked about gluten free options, I felt like I was wearing a Bernie Sanders t-shirt at a monster truck pull. Either there is really gluten in almost everything on their menu, or he just didn't want to be bothered. I don't want to smoke them because the other three people in our party had great food and seemed to enjoy their meal. The margaritas were very good and the tacos were not bad. It's just that that was about all I could eat on the menu. It looks like a great neighborhood hangout and people were having fun. I hope they will grow their gluten free options (or educate their servers).

Been going here at least two times a month for past three years. Treated like regulars from first visit. Eaten everything on the menu!! Margaritas great, half price Tuesday's. Favorites: chicken enchiladas, carne guisada, and shrimp tacos. Ask to be seated in Chad or Tessa's areas! Enjoy!!

We have gone to E Bar ever since it opened and their food has been consistently delicious. This is true TexMex, not interior Mexican as you find in some other places we enjoy, but done very well (and I am picky about my Mexican food born and raised in S.A.). Business travelers should take note this is only about 2 miles from downtown Dallas, or a $6 uber ride if you like margaritas.

Located near downtown between Bryan Place and Uptown. These guys do Mexican Food right. It can be crowded but usually the wait isn’t long. They have great margaritas!

So, I had to travel to Dallas for a few days for work. Seriously this food was the highlight of my trip!! Not even joking about it. Excellent food and loved the spicy salsa. Queso Blanco was perfectly thick and creamy and perfect! The chicken fajitas (order for one) was enough for dinner and tomorrow’s lunch. I travel to Dallas multiple times each year. This was my first time eating food at E Bat. It will not be my last! BTW, used GrubHub for delivery and delivery was 100% on time and everything was fresh and hot once it was delivered. Excellent service.

Best damn queso I ever ate we got the traditional and the custom 3 people got three different types of fajitas every one of them was amazing I got the street tacos each bite was better than the last when we go back to Dallas we are definitely going back here if there were six stars I would give it the staff is awesome never seen the bottom of my cup my wife says that make an amazing margarita

I’ve always noticed this place while driving but never knew how great of a restaurant it is. The service was good and the shrimp tacos w/ bacon was absolutely divine. It was a perfect night to sit out on the patio. My friends who just moved to Dallas from NYC loved it. This place is open until midnight on a Monday night which is beneficial for people like me who may get off later in the evening.

I like to ask the locals where to go when I'm in town anywhere. I was referred to get E Bar by two different strangers. As one put it, "it doesn't seem fancy, but it is GOOD and there's always a line of people waiting to get in." It was definitely very tasty, very reasonably priced, and worth the 30 min wait. Our shrimp and chicken fajitas were so good. We also had the pleasure of Jorge waiting on us, so we got the "Jorge's tacos" with a variety of meats. I don't often get my margaritas frozen, but did today from the heat and it had me missing Southwest Detroit. I joked the next day, "I know we have to keep trying new things... but I kind of want to go back to E Bar. haha"

Delicious Tex mex, excellent service. Great atmosphere, very casual. It's a sports bar with gourmet fare at a decent price... I would go back when I'm In Dallas again! Try the shrimp tacos! Hubs had brisket tacos ... both excellent.

Nestled along a very bumpy patch of Hsrwood on the south side of the road, east of the Central is a great neighborhood bar that just happens to serve very, very good Tex/Mex. Seems like every time we go there we run into old friends. Cheers, but with jalapeños. Parking around the back and you’ll not need a reservation.

We went for dinner at the recommendation of our B&B Host. This is a cute restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The inside was loud with bar noise and blaring music. They seated us right away and brought chips and salsa, but then service was slow. We waited a long time for a beer and had to remind our waiter we wanted water. E Bar is “Tex Mex”; in Arizona we call it “Gringo Mexican food.” We ordered the shrimp tacos and the tacos de carnitas. Both were very good but the carnitas were especially good. Our waiter was just going through the motions, so I can’t give the service five stars. Still, but food was good enough I would return unless I really needed a real Mexican food fix.

We enjoyed the food and generous portions, reasonably priced. It is a popular, casual and busy place even during the week, quite noisy at times.

If Tex-Mex is your thing, then don’t miss E Bar! Great food and very friendly staff makes this your favorite go-to place. Reasonably priced food and drinks makes E Bar even more appealing! I have tried many of the menu items and never been disappointed!

Love the spinach quesadillas. Half order is more than enough. Love the vibe and the food. Always busy but service never fails. Ive loved each thing I have ever had here.

Loved everything about E Bar....fantastic food and atmosphere! Would highly recommend them. Families or date night!

We went on a Saturday night so it was a little packed. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table. Our only beef with that was they didn't have a text/call option to tell us when our table was ready. It was too packed to stay inside so we had to go out and it was cold. We ended up waiting in our car across the street and just periodically checked in until our table was ready. The food was great tho. We got the queso to start off and then I had the street tacos. Even the rice had a great flavor. I also loved that they had a jukebox to play your favorite tunes on.

Family ate here for first time! Most had chicken enchiladas, and were excellent! Large and covered with white sauce! Couldn't eat them all! Not easy to find! Directions from the Renaissance Hotel said 2.7 miles. But routed us back thru downtown and took awhile, but well worth it!

After several visits E bar has never managed to disappoint. It's about flavor! Every single offering we've ever tried manages to surprise us with it's perfect balance of boldness and subtlety. It begins with the salsa which is dark and red and perfection. Always ask for more because you'll want it on your entrees as well. The guac is simple and sublime. We generally avoid queso dips but if you're ever tempted this is the place to have it. Any item that includes their grilled chicken/steak (our fave the soft chicken tacos) will blow you away with it's smoky and juicy deliciousness. Someone must also have the street tacos as they are authentic and I believe the best in Dallas. Decor and atmosphere are basically what is to be expected. Indoors there are several TV's always with sports. While they are never too loud to preclude conversation this can be avoided if one prefers by sitting in the large outdoor area which is climate controlled when necessary. Service is unpretentious and professional. One has the sense all of these servers have been in the biz for a long time and really know the ropes. Can't say enough good. Get in there!

Service was so quick, we were never without food or drinks on the table. The food is amazing, would highly recommend

Place has been getting a lot of buzz for a while, and others in my family said it was great, so decided we had to give it a try. Well, I'd say it's just okay. Nothing was bad and the brisket tacos were yummy. Nevertheless, nothing blew us away and they were out of avocados/guacamole, which is just weird. Not quite the 5 star experience everyone else seems to be having. I still prefer Rafa's and Avila's.

Our family ate here driving home from vacation. The food and service are excellent!!! It’s located near an interstate exchange and is easy to get to. We will go back.

I went there with a group of friends who had been told this was an excellent spot. The recomendation was absolutely spot on. They seated our party of 6 within 15 minutes at lunch tine on a busy Sunday. The chips and salsa were better than super! We also irdered two different queso dips both of which were great. I har George's Tacos in beef. These were the best tacos i had ever tasted! The drinks were good too. Highly recomended!

On Tuesdays they have Margaritas for $4.00 each. Good size drinks to drink at the bar or outside seating. Very few tables mainly for diners. They have excellent frozen Margaritas that actually have enough tequila in them. Quality drinks. They also have special vodka drinks with unusual flavors the vodkas sport now. Melon, watermelon, whip cream, etc. Made with name brands not watered down. Vodka drinks are $5.00. Our favorite thing to eat are the Mushroom spinach cheese quesadillas. We have had just about had everything on the menu. I found enchiladas, tacos, etc were average. Prices for entrees are a little expensive for the portions and quality. We go with friends after work to drink and have a snack vs dinner. I do not recommend the tortilla soup. It was recommended to me by a waitperson as homemade from long stewed broth and vegetables. It was watery and bland. Bar and menu appetizer menu is the best choice when first going. Location is great for Old East Dallas residents.Very loud and screaming required to speak to each other. Go outside. Maybe it quieter.

The food was good. The salsa was amazing, though I didn’t care at all for the overpriced queso. The service was horrible, though I must say it didn’t look like that was the case in other sections. The guy serving us was slow and rude.... walked around with a tissue blowing his nose while serving. He didn’t ask if we wanted dessert, he just threw our check in the table.

My husband and I were looking for a good Mexican food place. Randomly we saw this one online and decided to go for it. When we pulled up we were real sure but we are so glad we went ahead and went in. Great margaritas, chips and salsa were wonderful... heck everything was great! We will definitely be back next time we are in Dallas!

Had dinner here on a Thursday night and they were packed which is always a good sign. We ordered the E Bar queso which had taco meat, guacamole and sour cream in it. Super good! For dinner we each ordered tacos. I had the blackened shrimp tacos with fresh avocado, pico and cotija cheese and they did not disappoint. My husband ordered the carnitas tacos and we are still dreaming about them. Whatever marinade they put on that pork should be sold to the public in gallon jars!! They have a nice drink menu but read the ingredients carefully as I ordered a drink with smoky anejo tequila and I couldn't drink it. All in all a locals place with excellent tex mex. A must if in or near downtown Dallas.

I love this place. Chili Rellano is my favorite with verde and sour cream sauce. It's also a sports bar and can be quite loud inside. The patio is nice year round for a more intimate experience.

Food is solid, Rita's are right. Laid back. Waitstaff is professional. Staple go-to for TexMex. There is usually a wait, but it's worth it. We joke about drinking the salsa...

Although e bar was packed on a Sunday night...the food was great and the drinks were delightful..., Look forward to my next experience!

The E Bar chips and queso are delicious! Everything we ate was so good especially the Jorge carnitas tacos. The atmosphere is lively and music selection was great. The service was also amazing and we never had to ask for refills on our chips or drinks. My husband and daughters left raving about the food and said we should've eaten here all 3 days instead of the other places we tried. Looking forward to coming back our next weekend trip to Dallas.

In town for a conference and had to have a taste of Tex-Mex. E Bar was recommended by local so had to try. While the wait was a bit long, slip up to the bar and grab a beverage. Serve was great and timely. The stuff jalapeños were amazing. I had the fajitas which were tasty especially with a little of the queso dip drizzled over the top....yum....

Ate there over Cotton Bowl weekend. Really enjoyed our lunch there. Service was good. We sat outside (but under cover). I had brisket tacos. Quite good, maybe not great. The thing I had that I simply couldn't get enough of though was the Mexican corn. That stuff was fantastic, better than the richest chocolate. I would have happily made an entire meal out of that. Probably should have. The rest of the family was pleased with what they got as well.

Went on a Thurs nt. Waited only about 10 min for a table. Food was very good. Wait staff could have been more attentive. Ran out of water and waited a good 8-10 min to refill. Due to table arrangements, the waiters would bump into us at times when walking thru to kitchen...so it's a tight fit...we were not sticking out in aisle more than needed and neither was the table behind us.

Great atmosphere, food and drinks! Service was attentive but not over bearing. Was with a friend who frequents the establishment much more often than I. We had a great conversation and a meal which accommodated our time together. Planning to go back the next chance I get!

We went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was full - very popular. A quick wait and we were seated on the enclosed patio. Our server came by very quickly and was nice and efficient throughout the meal. My wife had her usual chile rellano and I had the carne picosa with filet. She did not care for the rellano but my picosa was decent - diced filet cooked with fresh jalapenos, onions and tomatoes. The rice and refried beans were good, but I had substituted spicy bean soup for refries and it was very good. The problem is there are so many good Tex Mex restaurants in the Metroplex and nothing at E Bar stood out as exceptional. I gave it 4 stars when it maybe should have been three for average. Definitely not a destination place to eat but OK if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

I can not sparkly highly enough of how flexible our lovely waitress was! We split 1 meal between two, had extra sauce on the side from a different dish, had different types of meat and different taco types! They could not have been more accommodating! The Guacamole was good too! 🥑

Stopped here for lunch and I do not regret it! Sure the wait was a tad bit longer than expected, but the food quality and the price was very much so worth the wait! I came for lunch with some pals of mine. I will most certainly be returning!

Recommended by neighbor whose daughter works there. End of lunch rush on both visits. High energy place with very good service, even when busy (sat at bar on both visits). Lunch specials (enchiladas) and taco salad were very good. Very nice Margaritas and very attentive with Chips and salsa. Busy at lunch but the seem to manage it well.

E Bar Tex-Mex food is so good people are always waiting in cars for them to open then everyone pile in to eat this delicious food. I called in take out fajitas when I arrived my food was ready and hot I was not surprised when I walked in that they were packed. I'll have to say that the salsa is The best in town. Make sure you also order the Ebar queso the taste is out of bounds! The only improvement I feel that this place needs is with the front house staff from top down no one greets you with a smile, the male manager at the front door when you enter seems to always act a little grouchy, which makes people not feel very welcome in a restaurant. I've felt that many times so now I only do delivery or take out the food is just that good if they could just get the staff to work on good customer service this place would get a five star.

The food quality is consistent at this place and is always delicious. The tacos taste fresh and are not heavy. The queso is tasty and smooth (and I don't usually like queso!). Almost every meal comes with a good helping of diced avocados or guac on your salad. The seating is limited as this restaurant is smaller, so it can get busy. Don't get your margarita on the rocks...just get it frozen.

Four of us stopped in to this Mexican spot of the moment place on a Thursday in a less than great section of dallas, but not really a concern with all the diners there. The adjacent parking lot was chock full but there’s an overflow lot across the street. The inside was jammed with patrons and the noise factor was LOUD. We opted for the non- AC patio, and it was fine with the ceiling fans. Our frozen margs were almost not when they made it to our table, and tasted pretty bland to me. Strike one. The chips were tasteless although the salsa was ok. Strike two. The waitress gave us a familiar sounding “We’re running low on avocados, so no guacamole is available.” A huge price increase was the reason given. There were sliced avocados on our plates however. Strike two and a half. The evening was saved, however by the terrific Jorge grilled tacos—excellent. So was the charro bean “soup”. So E earned a passing grade. But I put high stock in good margs and good chips, so I’m likely to pass next time.

I noticed this place one day while driving from work. It seemed like it was always busy, I decided to call in an order. Took it home to my husband, he fell in love with the blackened fish tacos! Now we order out or dine in once a week! I have tried several of their dishes and they are all wonderful!

This is my favorite locals only late night spot for great Tex-mex. Funky bar and restaurant with outdoor patio, great tacos and eclectic clientele. My wife and I always take our out of town friends there for a late night meal.

Wow wow from the moment I walked in they did everything right. I was sat in minutes with a friendly host, I sat in Caitlyn's section and she was GREAT. I was greeted with in one minute and I already had chips and salsa (that arrived in 10 seconds) she was knowledgeable and helpful. I ordered the tacos carnitas with a side hard shell need taco. Fresh delicious and brought to me in minutes!! This is one of my best Texas meals yet very impressed.

My family and I went to E Bar for the first time this past Sunday, and the food was delicious !! (great salsa too) As a matter of fact it was the best Tex Mex that I have EVER had. Thumbs up to our waiter Cliff who was so kind and efficient . Can’t wait to go back.

Great Tex-Mex menu and usually great execution. Very popular spot in Dallas so keep that in mind. Great margaritas and reasonably priced menu while many places in Dallas are going off the deep end with $30.00 fajita plates and $15.00 margs.

Was only in Dallas one day so we wanted to make sure we ate somewhere nice. You’ll find this place just on the outside of the city, you wouldn’t find it if it wasn’t for the reviews. Service was good, everything was super fresh, didn’t have one bad meal between us. Would highly recommend

Great food, great service, great Margaritas.. & easy parking! Good location. Off beaten path but not far from Fair grounds, lower Greenville , or downtown or uptown. Very authentic Tex mex!

We found out about this place by reading the reviews of another resteraunt and the review on the other site for this place made me take notice. We ordered the beef fajitas and the loaded queso. OMG, it was so good!!. The fajitas were so flavorful & very tender. A single order of fajitas fed a very large man and 2 women. There were 2 whole pieces of meat cut into about 15 slices each. The queso had an entire Jalepenos cut into rounds in it along with a ton of Hamburger meat. We even had left overs. The fajitas were a little over $18, but considering they fed 3 people, we thought it was a bargain. I would definitely recommend this deer. They even delivered it to our hotel. Great job guys!!

Great location in a hip area. Food and drinks were very disappointing. Bland. Overpriced. Not worthy of their hope.

This soup is horrible I wouldn’t call it tortilla soup I would call it squash soup... it’s 90% squash. Yuck!!!!

My sister and I ventured out to Dallas on a Saturday morning. We stopped at Dolly Python vintage/antique store. We stepped out of our car and immediately the wonderful smell of fajitas wafted passed us. We stopped and looked all around. The only thing we saw was this small, unassuming store front “bar” called E Bar. We also noticed the signage in the parking lot of Dolly Python saying E Bar patrons can park there. We looked on Trip Advisor and saw the great reviews! It’s small but has a nice patio area. It was a full restaurant at noon on Saturday. I noticed lots of fajitas being ordered but we had the cheese enchiladas. They were some of the best I’ve had. The chips and salsa were also very good. It’s very casual and our server was efficient, not over the top friendly but she got the job done and got us in and out. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who wants a casual Tex Mex meal. There was an actual bar in there, too. With several customers chatting and eating. It’s a very cool place!

This place has great tasting affordable Tex mex food. Service is great as well. Crowd is diverse and staff is usually friendly and provides good service!

Anybody can see from all the reviews that the food is great. I love Jorge's tacos, the fish tacos and any of the enchiladas - has a great burger too! Nachos are great for sharing and love that you can get the jalapeno poppers fried or grilled. I used to live close by in East Dallas, but this is within 1-2 miles of the heart of Uptown and close to Downtown as well - maybe a $5 Uber from the Sheraton.

We went here on a Tuesday evening and had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. It was well worth it! The salsa was excellent, as was the stuffed jalapeno appetizer. We also had the fish tacos, salad and crispy tacos. Everything was delicious, the service was fast and friendly and the prices were really reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

We came to E Bar because we noted pups were allowed on the patio. We traveled from out of town so not familiar with the restaurant. My husband entered while I waited outside the door to confirm our 2.5 lb pup inside a carry bag was ok. He came out and said yes come on in. Upon entry it appeared as a very small and overly crowded bar. We were seated on the patio which was enclosed with plastic and chips/salsa were brought to table. The waiter came out and took our drink order. As we waited a woman who was probably the manager approached us and said we could not stay and had to leave because of the dog. I explained we looked up dog friendly restaurants and E Bar came up as such not to mention we were told it was ok if we were on patio. She said no that wasn’t the case and said we could sit on the outer patio which was not enclosed to have a drink but no food????? I asked “we can have a drink but no food?” Her response was yes but we won’t be able to serve you any food you’ll have to leave. Not only was this quite embarrassing but as an insulin dependent diabetic I needed to eat and by allowing us to not only enter but to take our order etc we wasted 15-20 min then had to figure out where to go thereafter. Bottom line, why would you seat us and take our order in the first place, and if we could drink out on the outer patio we should be able to eat as well. There was nobody seated on the outer patio either. Poor management and handling of the situation all around. I guess I should have avoided all together anyway after seeing review of roaches on tables inside. I would give zero score but not an option.

Nice, local atmosphere. The food is great, particularly the shrimp tacos! Right across from Dolly Python shop. Generous pour on the Mimosa.

I had brisket tacos. OMG! So well seasoned, tender, and excellent! Those may be The Best brisket tacos I've ever eaten! Yes, indeed...That Good! My friend enjoyed the carnitas taco. Nice place for lunch. I found the place based on Trip Advisor reviews. When I mentioned the place to friends, they already knew. All expressed Yes, great place!

This was one of my favorite places until a bartender added a zero to my tip. I thought $2.00 was plenty for handing over a to-go bag. Apparently they wanted a 20.

Generous chips and salsa and were good! Meal was good but pricey for Mexican food. Can see why it’s popular but decor could use a little something. Would return for certain

Friday night. We have Tex-Mex at least 1-2x per week at places all across Dallas. At E Bar, three major hassles outweighed the food. Hassle one: parking. There's really no parking on the street and the lots in back and across the street are really small and tight. Either walk to E Bar or Uber. Hassle two: noise level. If you're eating at a table across from the bar, you're cramped, in the flow of traffic, and barely able to hear your companion. Hassle three: dripping water from the overhead AC ducts. Who doesn't enjoy a broom draped with a rag swept over you? The opening chips were greasy, but the salsa was good. My fish tacos were really good and my companion's brisket tacos were as well. We were confused why one of us got black beans and the other got pintos. No big deal though. The food isn't cheap, but prices are average. The server was very nice, but service was very relaxed. They didn't seem to be in a rush to turn the table. Within 10 minutes of E Bar, there's Gloria's, Velvet Taco, Taco Diner, Mi Cocina, Chuy's, and Jalisco. All are as good or better than E Bar with none of the aforementioned hassles. For us, we're one and done with E Bar.

Has become one of our favorites for Mexican . E Bar queso is a must. Great swirl margaritas. Haven't ever been disappointed.

We stumbled on E Bar by chance and were very happy with the food. It was packed on a Wednesday night but we only waited about 5 minutes for a table. Service was good. We had a southwest salad and tacos de carnitas - both were excellent.

My favorite Tex-Mex in Dallas! Cheese enchiladas are better than my full blooded Spanish grandmother. (Don't tell her I said that) Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Food is always consistently delicious. Salsa is some of the best in town. Margaritas are cheap and boozy. Service is usually spot on and all the regulars are cool. Not to mention all the TVs with sports on them.

We really enjoyed our visit to this authentic, unpretentious restaurant just outside downtown. It is a bit pricey, and a bit noisy inside. However, we sat out on the patio and it was fine. The food quality is top notch. I had a plate of carne asada smothered in chile, with rice and beans. A very generous portion, I might add. My wife and son enjoyed their dishes as well; everyone cleared their plates. So I definitely recommend a visit. I will certainly go back if I return to Dallas.

I have lived in Dallas for over 50 years and eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants. E-Bar is the best of them all. On a recent three month stay in Dallas I was introduced to this restaurant my first week and went a dozen times after that. Every person I went with loved their food, and the list is too extensive to mention in a review. But, the one thing I really appreciated is the white cheese queso, so much tastier and real than the yellow stuff served by other restaurants. The owner is terrific which must be why the service here is impeccable as well. The atmosphere is also conducive to hanging out at the bar and meeting people and chatting. Highly recommend.

Local family member, and all his friends said we needed to try this place... one of the two best in the area.

Beware, they add 20% auto grat on tables of FIVE or more. Ive never heard of that. Its very easy to miss on the menu and on the bill, which I'm betting they are counting on. So, I double tipped. When I noticed my mistake (I accidentally got home with the bill instead of my credit card receipt) I called and asked to speak to the manager. She said (Im paraphrasing) tough tacos!!! We for sure won't be back.

We got here early and didn’t have an issue getting a table but heard from the manger the wait time was an hour and a half last night from 6-11pm. You know the food is excellent when people will drive off the beaten path and wait that long for dinner. I got the carnitas tacos and they were perfection! As other reviewers have said, the service is the perfect blend of attentive but not pushy. We will definitely come back during our next trip to Dallas.

So we went there for the first time... It was great. Prices were great and bartenders are very friendly.

Finally made it from Plano to this little gem of a restaurant/bar. Started with some very good margaritas and the special quest. Mmmmmmm good. Loved the hot sauce and we had the most efficient waiter ever! Never ran out of anything. He was good! Will be making the drive again.

We stopped in here for an easy Sunday afternoon lunch. Food was terrific. I'd highly recommend the "Street Tacos." All of the food was good and I will definitely go back.

Consistently great food and service make this place a favorite. Eddie and Ernie are nearly always on site and they are masters when it comes to running a restaurant. Many of the staff have been there for years -- they love their jobs and their customers. Don't miss the frozen margaritas -- fresh squeezed lemons and limes with house made simple syrup and generous tequila!

It’s pretty hard to stand out in the Tex MEX market when you are in Texas. But this place does. It is a hole in the bar pub and grill great Tex MEX abs maybe the best brisket tocos I have ever had!

Eddie and Ernie Cervantes are pros. The lunch specials are generous and well priced. Jorge's Tacos, Fish Tacos, Pollo Verde are my favorite for specialty items. Also, they make one of the best Cheeseburgers in Dallas -- to miss the custom, soft, buttered buns and proprietary blend of beef! Their frozen Margaritas are well worth a try with fresh squeezed lemons, limes, and house made simple syrup.

This place is the bomb! And it isn't just a Tex-Mex restaurant. It has been a regular stop for my wife and friends before attending concerts at the AAC. I made the trip with them this time because the band playing at the AAC was Jeff Lynne's ELO. That's Electric Light Orchestra for those too young to remember. Google "Roll Over Beethoven" Anyhoo, back to the restaurant. Not much to look at inside or out, but that's okay because the best places to dine out are always the ones where the food is the focus. Our party of four was greeted and seated quickly. The complimentary chips and salsa arrived just as fast. Chips were thin, warm and very crispy. Red salsa was delicious with just the right amount of heat on the back side. Each person gets their own serving of salsa, and they make sure your portion is never empty. Yeehaw! Our appetizers were the veggie quesadillas and a mega portion of guacamole. I don't like guacamole but the ladies do, they ate every bit of it, and the quesadillas were excellent. Entrees were beef enchiladas, carne asada, pollo ala parilla and carne picosa with chicken. We shared bites of each and all agreed that everything was "muy sabroso." The ladies finished the meal with a slice of tres leches cake. I didn't like it but I'm not much of a dessert guy unless it is decadently sweet and chocolate. Bottom line, I now have a new favorite place to eat in Dallas. YEEHAW!

The food was excellent. We were with a friend from Monterray, Mexico and she even approved. The service was, how do I say this tackfully?, HORRIBLE. It was football Sunday but the place, more like a sports bar, was not crowded. It was mostly local regulars. And you could tell that our server thought they were more important than waiting on us. When you have to ask the bus boy for everything from more water, a knife and more salsa, that speaks volumes. We even had to get up to ask the bar tender for the check! Could have been an off day for her but the food is VERY good.

The food is really good. The staff is very friendly. This is definitely a place to visit. The margaritas are great! Woohoo!

I thought Dallas didn't have room for another great Tex-Mex food place...and for that I am sorry. E Bar is not only a solid spot to get your eat on, but has some wickedly awesome brisket tacos. Highly recommended. Oh, and we also got the blackened fish tacos for a lighter option. Delicious!

After reading all these amazing reviews, I expected more from Ebar. The skinny margaritas were the best that I’ve had, but the food was just OK. The fish tacos didn’t have a lot of flavor and the fajitas were good but certainly not great.

My husband and I went early evening on a Sunday and we had the best margaritas. Try the melt down frozen margaritas They had TVs on with NFL games we sat at a table near the bar and had a nice time. Could see the TVs and enjoy our food. Great Tex mex food will come back for sure

I've been to E Bar once before and I loved it, so I went today for a second visit. We got there as they were opening, so not busy yet. They seem to have plenty of parking, there is parking adjacent to the restaurant and I believe there is also parking in a lot directly across the street. I've only ever sat inside, but they do have patio seating which I believe is air conditioned. They have a lot of Banquette seating, which I don't care for, particularly when the tables are spaced where you have to squeeze between tables to get in or out, and theirs are pretty close together. That's just a personal peeve, which doesn't sway my opinion on their food, because the food is great! Our server was relatively new (I heard him tell the table next to us how long he'd been there) and he was upbeat, attentive and did a great job, checking on us and keeping our glasses full. We split an order of Jorge's Tacos, you get four to an order which you can pick your combo (we had Brisket (2), Carnitas, Beef Fajita). I have to say we had them on our previous visit and they are AWESOME! They are pan fried and have cheese, cilantro, jalapeno and onion...Yum!! There was one disappointment on this visit, which was that we ordered Chicken Enchiladas with Tomatillo Sauce and what we got were Cheese Enchiladas with Tomatillo Sauce. We really wanted to try the Chicken Enchiladas because we'd tried the Cheese Enchiladas when we were there previously. Having said that, we didn't bother our server to get that error in our order corrected, in part because he was busy and in part because they have pretty amazing Cheese Enchiladas and they were even more AMAZING with their Tomatillo Sauce. I have to add that they ranks way up there on my list as it was pretty perfect, it had the perfect amount of tangy that makes the sauce. Our ticket showed that error wasn't on the servers part, because it did show Chicken Enchiladas, so just a error in the kitchen and we enjoyed every bite of everything they put in front of us...so all good! I'd recommend them and I'll definitely be going back as they may be moving their way up to the top of my most favorite Tex-Mex restaurants.

It is a bar and is a bit loud. But, the service was friendly and good -- and the food was tasty. Get the queso!

This quaint place offers incredible food ....especially the chicken stuffed jalapeños (grilled or fried )!!! Great place for friends to enjoy food and a fun environment. The best margaritas!! #jalepenomargarita

There is a lot of Tex Mex in this town, and Ebar is solid. What sets it apart is very fresh tender corn tortillas for their enchiladas. Brisket filling for tacos that are so flavorful, seemingly due to slow and low cooking like your mom or grandmother might make. Chips were very fresh and the spicy beans excellent. The salsa could have had a bit more zip, but a minor complaint. This is basic Tex Mex at a high level for a very reasonable price. Ambiance is laid back for bar and restaurant, and like all restaurants these days lots of TV's to catch your favorite sporting event. I hear the carne quisada is to die for, but alas none available late afternoon.

Be forewarned...at peak dining times expect a wait. Good TexMex food, good sized portions, limited parking in parking lot beside the building, but they have additional parking across the street

This is probably my favorite Tex Mex at the time being. Good food, chips, salsa and very good margaritas. It gets very busy at peak times.

I hate to tell others about Ebar. Want to keep this place to myself. It is so busy now and they are expanding. And there is often a wait, even on a cold rainy midweek night. My husband says the Carne Asada is the best ever! Everything we have tried is super.

Good place for tasty TexMex. Looking forward to coming back with my relatives. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I loved.

My husband and I stopped at E Bar Tex Mex while passing through Dallas. We had and excellent lunch of enchiladas and tacos. The service was excellent and the good even better! Our bill came to a grand total of $18.40, you sure can’t beat that! Make sure and check this place out if you are in the area!

This place is sooooo good. For real, so delicious. The strawberry margarita was wonderful. Definitely recommend the queso and flautas! Awesome service and atmosphere too. 10/10 recommend!

Amazing Tex-Mex masters. An absolute favorite of mine in Dallas. I always drop by when I"m in town to enjoy a lovely authentic and delicious meal

I used to work near this place and I was here at least once a week, if not more. There is nothing fancy about this place: affordable, fast, and delicious. Parking is a bit of a hassle when they are busy, but it is worth finding the time to visit. I can't recommend this place enough. Hands down this is my favorite and go-to Tex-Mex joint in Dallas.

...and did not disappoint. Excellent food and good margaritas. Nice bar area and good outdoor seating. I sat at the bar under a couple tvs and had some killer tacos, got the meal to mix and match, shredded chicken, brisket and carnitas were excellent.

Start to stop - very tasty and, as a bonus, very reasonably priced and speedy service! Would return in a heartbeat. App: My first try of creamed elotes - really delish. (Especially with the lime cilantro rice!) Main: Jorge's tacos are perfectly crispy with just the right amount of melted cheese and your choice of fillings. Visiting Dallas, I chose the brisket (a local thing) and my standby, carnitas - very good! Not listed on the menu, but they also include avocados and pico + a great smoky salsa. Dessert: tres leches cake - also good.

E Bar is truly the best Mexican Food in Dallas! Located in old East Dallas, it is a fairly new comer to the Mexican restaurants in Dallas, and it has risen rapidly to the top of the list. Their Elotes are out of this world, not to mention the beef enchiladas, brisket flautist and tacos, and Jorge’s tacos. And the queso - Wow! The clientele is of all ages! Go early so as to,avoid a wait, sot it is mucho popular. Check it out!

I came in to try this place since it had good reviews . Immediately upon arrival things started off bad . They had 2 of the 3 visible televisions at my view on the mavericks game and the one I can see on another channel. I asked if I could have it changed to the mavericks playoff game also and they said no because a regular at the bar was watching it . The gentlemen was watching the Mavs game and not caring for the baseball game at all !!! I said are you watching the game or can you move so I can see the Mavericks game and he said I’m a regular. I the. Had a group seated next to me and they asked why the tv couldn’t be changed . I then told them what I was told. Immediately after that his girlfriend screams and there’s two roaches on the table . A guy who was handing out the chips grabs them and kills them and walks off like if it was normal . None of the staff seems phased by any of this . I just hope these pictures and videos I took explain why you shouldn’t visit this place .

GREAT FOOD & SERVICE Always good food and drinks! seriously the consistency with service. The industry place for industry people.

Everything here was very fresh! Shrimp tacos were amazing! Chips and salsa also very fresh. Came on a Friday night and had a brief 30 minute wait while enjoying a margarita.

Everything was excellent, again!. It's the reason this place is #1 in Dallas for Tex-Mex. Our party of four were here once again, this time prior to a killer Phil Collins concert at AAC. We started by sharing the veggie quesadilla and beef and bean nachos. For entrees, me and the wife got beef fajitas for two. Di and Beck had their usual, carne asada and sour cream chicken enchiladas. Everything was awesome, again! So much food that a to go bag is needed. Service was excellent, again!. Told staff that management needs to give serious thoughts to opening a place in Fort Worth close to the new Dickey's Arena.

Very small restaurant off the beating path. E Bar is a fantastic restaurant with even better food, we were promptly greeted by staff and immediately sat, this was around 5pm on a Wednesday. My family ordered their food and we were severed with chips and salsa. The wait staff was fantastic and very knowledgeable of the menu. My ONLY gripe is that it took a good amount of time to get our food, but when we did get it, it was mouth watering food. I will definitely be back our next visit to Dallas.

The enchilada's are on point! The stuffed jalapeños with chicken appetizer is fantastic. I would recommend grilled over fried. Good margaritas. Friendly service. Very excited to go back to this place.

I love Tex-Mex and was wanting to try something different in Dallas. What I found was fantastic place with exposed bricks and cool overall vibe. Sweet bat with amazing $2 margaritas (rocks or frozen) on Tuesdays. Probably the best brisket taco plate I've ever had and my friend got what we were told is their most popular dish...Jorge Tacos. No wonder they are the top dish as they were awesome. Lastly save room for the flan as it is second to none. Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes.

Have lived in East Dallas for 5 years and this is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. Good food at fair prices and they always do a good job of accommodating a large rush of people. There may be 7-8 people ahead of you but you will get a table in 15-20 minutes usually. Great restaurant!

Darn it, would have given a better than average review if only the service had been better. Food was good, the service was lousy.

We chose a random place to have a drink and were not disappointed. Our waitress was great, Pantera, she took great care of us the entire time. The chips and salsa were pretty good! The mango margaritas were 10/10! And the street tacos were a 10/10 too! We went on a Sunday and there is a good amount of parking available! They have enough TVs to watch sports and the service is great!

One of my best meals ever. I had the spinach mushroom enchiladas and my husband had the fajita tacos. We were traveling from Michigan and in town for one day! Definitely made the right choice on lunch!

Had the best sour cream enchiladas. My husband even like the retried beans -and he never eats those. Great service also!

I had dinner delivered to my hotel and I wish I had gone to restaurant. The carne asada was amazing and the flan was the best I have had in 20 years. Delivery came with a full serving of chips and salsa; the chips were fresh and crisp. The salsa was spicy. I definitely would eat here again.

We went recently for a business lunch. The waiter was attentive and the food came out at a nice pace. It is moderately priced. Good margaritas as well.

I went here for the first time yesterday and I WILL BE BACK!! Such a great local “hole in the wall”. Casual laid back atmosphere. My friend, who frequents the place, says it is almost always busy. The food was delicious. Service was great. We didn’t sit on the patio, but it looked like a fun place to dine on a nice day. It is a great place for families, or a casual place to dine with friends.

Tex Mex in Dallas is very popular, but this place is worth a visit. Some wait time on weekends, but it is worth it. This bar has a patio and indoor seating. I mention that first because we Dallasites love to eat outside. Cheese enchiladas are great! The salsa and chips are good, and the bartenders are excellent. I do like the food, and there are vegetarian options. (Ask them about subbing out on some dishes.) I have been there after a theater show and was still able to eat. Late night dining choices in Dallas are varied, and this is a great one.

The beef fajitas here are amazing. Highly recommend them. The margaritas were great as well. Wish there was a happy hour margarita deal, but regardless, it was some good tex-mex.

We are from Boston and wanted authentic local food. This was it. Outside dining. Inexpensive and copious tasty food. We loved it. Give it a try. You won’t be sorry.

We were originally going to a Mexican restaurant in Uptown only to learn they had suffered a massive fire Christmas Eve. Therefore with no backup plan, I suggested E Bar Tex-Mex. When we pulled up we realized we had been there before. It had been rated best queso and we remembered we had been to this restaurant before. We were happy our plans for fudged and we landed here. We chose the queso loaded with beef, avocado, jalapeños and sour cream. It was DELICIOUS. We thought she brought us a bowl when we ordered a cup but nope, our ticket said a bowl. My wife and I both ordered a lunch special with 1 enchilada and 1 taco. Both were scrumptious. I'm not usually an enchilada person but I wanted to go for it. I'm happy I did. My wife ordered a house margarita without salt. Although the first one did come with salt, she said it was still great! I would recommend this restaurant as everything is delicious from the salsa to queso to enchiladas and tacos.

What a pleasent surprise! Got in late and was hungry, finding open options at 1030 at night that isnt fast food is hard to find, but we saw this place on Yelp and so glad we tried it! Their tortillas were delicious, their tacos were authentic and prepared perfectly! Do not hesitate. Super casual, but that makes it even better! Side note, we had a amazing server that gave us some great tips about other places to try!

I have been fortunate to eat variations of authentic Mexican in Mexico via local dives and fine restaurants. Also, all over the Southwest in Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. E-Bar excelled in food and service. We started with great Queso, warm corn tortillia chips, and zesty red salsa. My wife ordered Soft Tacos with fajita beef and I had Jorge's Tacos. My wife's soft flour taco plate had wonderful fresh lettuce/tomato/onion/cilantro with rice and beans. My Jorge's tacos had 2 fajita beef and 2 shredded chicken tacos with wonderfully grilled crisp corn tortillias, great green salsa, and plenty of the lettuce/tomato/onion/cilantro chopped vegetables. Also on the plate were wonderful refried beans. Our server, Mahlet was absolutely fantastic. We did not have to wait for refills on water and lemon. If I am ever in Dallas for another visit, this will be my first restaurant meal. I am not sure how our meal could have been better.

Shrimp tacos, brisket tacos, guacamole, and margarita. All amazing! The margarita was not too sweet which i was so thankful for. Guac was simple salt, avocado, and onion. Shrimp taco was my fave!

The wait on a weekend night wasn't too bad. Definitely worth it. The "outside area" is air conditioned, so it is fine ion a hot night.

This was the best Tex Mex I have ever eaten, so I highly recommend this restaurant and order the queso, guacamole, and the brisket tacos with the au jus, a delicious lunch and a great experience!!

I ordered the queso with guacamole and it was delish! Good chips and hot sauce. The taco platter was good as well. I'd return.

Dallas has a lot of good Tex Mex but E Bar takes the cake. Salsa, queso and guac are all great... but the thing that keeps me coming back time and time again: JORGE'S TACOS. Ah-may-zing. I dream about those tacos and need them at least once a week. Just do yourself a favor and get Jorge's tacos with chicken fajita. It is a pretty popular spot now so expect to wait during rush times. Service has always been great and the staff is friendly. A+

Ordered Jorge's Tacos. Four crispy corn tortillas with a small salad on the plate. Simply delicious. Excellent find leaving Love Field en route to my meeting. Will return.

We had the brisket tacos and enchiladas, which both were wonderful, I ate too much! The chips and salsa were plentiful and the salsa tasted fresh. I had a virgin margarita which also tasted fresh, it was missing the alcohol but I guess I requested that since I am pregnant, but I think it would have been excellent with tequila. The service was quick and on point. Had a wonderful meal!

E Bar is one of those places that you drive by a bunch but never think about stopping to try it out. You should not pass this place by again. E Bar is a funky bar/restaurant featuring some of Dallas' best Tex-Mex. The atmosphere is basic but very inviting. A lot of "regulars" at the bar and at the tables. Service is really, really good. Attentive but not overbearing and they don't tell they will be, "taking care of your every need." So far we have tried the plain and it is creamy and full of flavor. We have wandered through all the various enchilada flavors and found each one to be as flavorful as the previous one. The spinach and mushroom ones got especially high marks. We've also tried the carnitas and those were tender and moist. They also server that with a chipotle aioli...which should be illegal it tastes so good and is definitely addictive. We also tried the chicken flautas which again were tender, but kinda boring. Tasty, but I prefer something more in a flauta besides the meat. Maybe I am too Tex for that dish. We've already been there twice in as many weeks and see many more returns.

First timer! My husband and I Love great Mexican food, and we qualify Mexican restaurants based on their chips, queso, salsa, fajita meats and their refried beans. So, today we tried E Bar at the recommendation of one of the local shop keepers close to the restaurant. We were seated in the very back corner, but it was actually cozy and quite comfortable. Our warm chips and salsa were delivered quickly, and our drink order taken and delivered efficiently fast. So, the chips were perfect, not too thin that they break when you dip, but not too thick that you can't taste anything but the chip; they are the perfect vehicle for their salsa. Now, I know some like their salsa on the very spicy side, but I am not one of those. The salsa is very flavorful with a hint of spice. It adds to the eating experience as opposed to overpowering every bite. Now,the queso... a melty smooth beautiful combination of cheeses with the most seductive creaminess on your palate. (We got the plain queso, not the E Bar style.) Our chicken fajitas arrived on a steamy hot platter, and there was so much chicken we thought it was almost too much to eat, but we powered through! The chicken was so tender and the flavor was amazing. It didn't need to be paired with any toppings, although we each made a traditional fajita taco with all the trimmings, most of the chicken we just ate straight from the platter! Our service was great, the place is cute and it looks like they are expanding into the next building. It was crowded, but we were seated right away. We have already discussed our "Next time" visit! Definitely the queso, probably something with beef, (recommended by our waiter) and absolutely for sure I am going to get a Margarita!

Nothing fancy but great food, great service and at least 7 tv screens, each tuned to a different sporting event. I was the lone female and vegetarian in our group and I loved it! I had the spinach and mushroom enchiladas with tomatillo sauce and would happily return tonight for the same thing. I appreciated that each of us had our own bowl of delicious salsa (double-dipping no problem) which was promptly topped off when it got low. Do yourself a favor when visiting Dallas, eat here!

This was recommended to us by our B&B and we are so pleased we ate there! From the outside it just looks like any other bar/restaurant but you then walk into a great atmosphere. We sat at the bar but there is also an indoor and outdoor seating area. When ordering drinks alone you are given free nachos and salsa which is really good! We both ordered Brisket Tacos .....all I can say is wow!! some of the nicest beef we have ever tasted 👍👍 Highly recommend and you won't be dissapointed!!

Was in town on business. Grabbed a late dinner and it was fantastic. The fish tacos were excellent, the beers were ice cold, and the service was good. Would definitely go back.

With friends and a toddler, our party was made to feel comfortable in a good sized table near the windows. The ambiance of the restaurant feels like a mix between old-time-bar-scene and genuine Mexican. Visiting for brunch, several ordered mimosas that were poured in fluted glasses. The margaritas were a perfect balanced between salty and sweet and were served in frosty glasses. We had the obligatory but kindly surprising chips and salsa on the table within minutes of our arrival. The chips were delicately salted and the salsa tasted incredibly fresh (with plenty of ripe tomatoes and peppers). Rather than ordering a brunch item, I chose the spinach/veggie enchiladas which were stuffed with green spinach and covered with white and melty cheese. Our party sat at the table for some time, enjoying the food and the conversation. Even though the restaurant was busy, we did not feel rushed to leave our table. I would return to E Bar on another occasion to watch a game, visit with friends for brunch or enjoy a meal alone (it was that good tasting). I might even come back just to enjoy a margarita, chips and salsa.

I have 3 tests for a Tex Mex place and E-Bar passes all with flying colors: (1) salsa (2) ground beef / ground beef tacos and (3) margaritas. I've never had a bad meal here. Everything is exceptional. My husband and I usually split Jorge's tacos - 4 tacos stuffed with your choice of filling. We get 2 brisket and 2 ground beef and then take one of each. There E Bar queso also has guacamole, sour cream, ground beef and tomatoes and is always a family favorite. The elotes are so fresh and the perfect mix of sweet, tangy and spicy. The margaritas - yum. My husband summed it up best: "Their food is so good that even their filler s$%t is good." He was referring, of course, to the lettuce, cheese and pico on the side.

I was here for a late lunch. We sat on the covered, heated patio and enjoyed some delicious Tex-Mex food. Might I suggest the brisket tacos? YUM!

I had the shrimp tacos. Delicious! Loved the fresh corn and bacon. Lots of avocado and shrimp, too. Drinks and food both very reasonably priced. The service was great, always had what I needed, but not intrusive. Would definitely go back.

And, really strong, tasty margaritas! We drive past many other Mexican restaurants to go here all the time! Great bar scene with many large screen TVs.

Arrived at 5pm thinking it would not be busy that early. I was wrong. Got a table before too long tho. Salsa was not good. Spicy catchup at best. Chips seemed like store bought. Meals took 40 minutes to serve after the order. W it wasn’t the servers fault. She was attentive. Quality of the food was good but not great. Drinks were ok. Can’t figure out what the great ratings are all about.

Food was great. Chips were warm and fresh, salsa and an order of queso were good. We had brisket tacos, shrimp tacos, and beef fajitas. All were very good. Small place with a fun atmosphere, got right in on a Sunday night.

Swung by on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, sat outside, love the vibe of this place. Our waiter was very efficient and helpful, and he let us customize our orders. The pulled pork tacos were right on, and my wife really liked the shrimp tacos..the brisket tacos were good but lacked flavor, still pretty good and lean. loved the queso with meat and avocado!! They put a little too much sweet n sour in the ritas. Overall we love this place!

We had brisket tacos and sour cream and chicken enchiladas, and they were delicious. Nice neighborhood spot. The staff was friendly and fast.
Dinner with Friends
I went to E Bar with a friend that recently moved to that area of town and it was great! E Bar is a quaint little spot with great food and good drinks. There was a really great queso that we got to share. We both really enjoyed the queso because it had meat and tomatoes in it but not throughout more so like a topping so you could have as much or as little of the ad-in as you wanted. I would recommend the queso for sure! Great place for a fun little dinner with a friend or a intimate date.
