Good food & location, very busy place.

By CairnsGirl25 |

We had a late breakfast here and the food was excellent. The usual very large servings that seem to be "the norm" in USA. The staff were friendly but very busy & rushed, and with our table on the edge it detracted a little from the ability to relax, however for brekky that was no problem. If you get a good table this would be a great place for lunch or dinner.

Very good restaurant.

By Hcorinne |

2 visits for breakfast. It’s very, very good, plentiful, with quality products. Good value for money . Very pleasant staff. Really nothing to complain about this restaurant in an ultra touristy area.

Overall brilliant

By niamhh1222 |

Excellent staff, excellent food. My overall experience of my visit to pier 39 was topped off by stopping in to this wonderful restaurant. Their staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was beautiful with some great cocktails also! Will definitely make a return

Yummy lunch with a view

By Beverley W |

We had a great table overlooking the bay. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was great. I thought there prices very reasonable for where the restaurant is situated. A win win all round.

Great breakfast options

By llcooljazz74 |

I came here with my family for breakfast before our Alcatraz tour. Breakfast was great. Service was great too

Delicious find on pier 39!

By MrsCockburn |

Super cute cafe situated on the upper part of pier 39. Staff were helpful & really friendly. Portions are large, lovely views & we thought the prices were really good value for money! Would definitely recommend 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Good Food in touristic location

By Mathias1971 |

Had breskfast today and food was good, staff very friendly Only 4 Stars as you need to order food on a counter (8 people in line = waiting about 10min) and also the refill was bit confusing (no table service, but you can get some from the bar if you ask for it). Overall I expect little bit more service but in general I would recommend the Place 👍

Not fancy, but great food!

By William P |

Most of the restaurants on Pier 39 are a bit fancier than this cafe, but the food couldn't be any better! I had a bread bowl of clam chowder which was one of the best I've ever eaten. It came with a salad which was fresh and crispy. My wife had a crab and avocado toast with fries, which she loved. Our server was assisted by two other servers, each one nicer than the other! The prices are very reasonable, especially for this area of San Francisco! We shall return on our next visit to SF.

Awful experience

By Chelsea1688 |

My friends and I went to pier 39 last weekend . We ended up at eagle cafe to have some breakfast. No one greeted us when we walked in and no one told us it’s counter service . Employees all look depressed and no one came to give any service . We basically helped ourselves with everything. They dare to ask for tip? Why tip if there is no service given? Manager was mean to my friend and told her that her food was nothing wrong when she brought it back . It was not what she asked for , she wanted bacon but got sausage , over easy eggs became over hard .we were all there to witness . Anyways never go back !

Holiday in San Francisco

By Brenden Hill |

We have eaten here several times, and everytime we have enjoyed an excellent meal. Eagle cafe serves Fabulous food and has excellent service

Lovely lunch

By Matthew G |

Excellent food and service. Little stop here for lunch before flight back, very nice burger, sandwich and drinks. Would recommend

Lack of full table service a disappointment

By Fairalways |

Seemed strange to order & pay in advance & then be prompted for a tip! I declined on the basis that at that point we had no service. The food was fine, but the decaf. Coffee was only warm. All in all, quite disappointing, I certainly wouldn't recommend and having had the service (or lack of), the decision not to tip was justified.

Coffee experience

By Philip351 |

Very attentive and pleasant service. Coffee topped up without asking. Great ambiance. Wish we had not already had breakfast and too early for lunch menu which looked promising

Great location. Good food. Chowder soup experience

By HonestSammy |

Having heard SF was famous for its Chowder Soup I was keen to try it. What a great location to do that! Upstairs and a quieter location. Friendly attentive staff. Did not disappoint.

Great breakfast at pier 39

By mfriasca72 |

We visited Eagle cafe to have breakfast at Pier 39. The menu had a lot of delicious meals for our family. My recommendation is for the avocado toast and the different kind of pancakes. Two waitresses were very friendly and both speak Spanish very well. Special gratefulness for Leslie.

Great catch

By spms1798 |

Stumbled upon this cafe by chance heading back to our hotel from Alcatraz. We were hungry after an early start and hadn’t planed to eat so early. Wow. What a pleasure. Great setting, friendly staff, good menu choice and excellent Fish & Chips.

Wonderful view and good food!

By carlei18 |

Very friendly service, lovely food and great view! What else do you want? And our kids liked it too.

Just Ok

By estopzota1 |

If your restaurant is empty don't sit a couple at a 2 seater near the kitchen. Ceasar salad had 5 croutons. Crab sandwich or upscaled choice should be on dinner menu. Coffee was awful it was old.

Breakfast!

By Linda S |

Looked after well - I had a gluten free request -all sorted- very accommodating would definitely use again

Excellent

By LauG |

Excellent place to go for lunch with a view of the marina from the quay. The pancakes were delicious. The prices are a little high, but super good and the staff is very friendly. I recommend!

Lovely food

By David0ff82 |

Whilst in San Francisco June 2024 celebrating our 20 years together me and my partner came here for some breakfast. We ordered an eggs Benedict with crab. It was busy but we were able to get a table and it’s a nice setting at Pier 39. Staff are nice and welcoming and the food was good and lots of it. The place contains a bar so also serves alcohol. Would recommend.

Good service but food only ok

By Lisa G |

Maybe it depends on what you order but mu husband's fish (in the fish & chips) was very greasy. My linguini and clams was fine but a little bland.

Great Harbor View!

By Dorcas |

Eagle Cafe has a great Harbor View! We ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl and fish and chips. The fish is fresh and delicious. Highly recommended !

Great view

By p0mpey60 |

Great cafe

By Trace79 |

I ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito and got beef instead o think but it was fine and it had scrambled egg in it and came with a side of potatoes my husband ordered special breakfast and he said his was lovely. Mine was too but it was a big burrito and left badly of it . Service is great and the distaff are lovely too. I also enjoyed the coffee and it’s with a visit and prices are reasonable

Beautiful Location

By Shannon C |

Eagle Cafe was recommended to us and didnt disappoint. Friendly staff, beautiful location, nice food, loved our visit

Worth a try

By sharking |

They open up at 8am. There was a line waiting outside about 10 minutes prior. Great view of the bay. We had the French toast and the avocado toast. One of our knives was dirty when we went to use it. The avocado toast is served with mashed guacamole vs slices of avocado and the egg we ordered over medium were not cooked properly. However, French toast was excellent.

Consistently Good

By Kathleen M |

Been coming to the Eagle Cafe for many, many years. The Eagle always delivers with delicious food, fast and friendly service and a lovely wharf view!

Ok Brunch

By JP3267 |

Our food was all ok, good table service but sticky tables - nothing out of the ordinary - wouldn't rush back.

Nice and good place

By fabrice791 |

Good food, enjoyable place, good service and prices are very reasonable for a touristic place. The BLTA is worth the try

Amazing breakfast food

By kerrimighty |

Loved the vibe of the restaurant, we went in for breakfast. It was very filling and lots of it.i had a caramel pecan pancakes and bacon and eggs

By saschahancke |

Breakfast on Pier 39!

By DannyD81 |

Enjoyed a nice breakfast at Eagle Cafe in San Francisco. Highly recommend the chocolate chip pancakes. My only gripe was that the waitress did not visit our table once after taking our order. A runner brought us our meal, and no one ever came back to refill drinks, etc. Like most spots on the pier, it offers nice views of the bay and even has outdoor counter seating.

great location

By TerFos3 |

Excellent location and ambiance. Service was good. Portions sizes were small and food did not come out at the same time. Party of 7. 2 people in our party were done their meal before my Mother received hers. We were still hungry when we left.

Great food & service, and excellent view from 2nd floor overlooking SF Bay.

By Eric L |

Great sea food & friendly service as well as providing an excellent second fool view overlooking San Francisco Bay and reasonable prices.

Service ok, food most mediocre and way overpriced

By RWJanssen70 |

Had a quick breakfast of crab eggs benedict and french toast and cups of drip coffee before heading to Alcatraz tour. 58 US$ and must admit although service was fine, the food quality was most mediocre and not acceptable at this price point. Trapped in the pier without better options.

Food was terrible! Ordered breakfast burrito and it was disgusting. What really pissed me off was the old stale Coffee!!

By Joerod01 |

Coffee tasted as if it was brewed the day before and just reheated. I can always tell the quality of a breakfast restaurant by the effort in management to invest a little in good quality coffee beans and brewing fresh coffee! Food was disgusting! Ordered a breakfast burrito and had a chemical taste to it. I wondered as I took my first bite if i would get sick if I took a second bite. Total disappointment!

Sunday morning breakfast

By Claire |

Sunday morning breakfast on the sunny terrace. There was a good breakfast selection and the food arrived promptly. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would recommend the banana pecan pancakes and the breakfast burrito!

Excellent

By stephgood2011 |

Visited eagle cafe for breakfast on my trip form England service was excellent as was the food !! Highly recommend

Good stuff

By DirkPit |

Is was good food, but we got forgotten about in the corner or short staff as everyone in the industry has been. Would I return, sure thing!

Nice cafe on the Wharf

By AbsolutelyDubrovnik |

Stopped in for a quick drink while wandering around fisherman’s wharf. Lovely old cafe/restaurant with nice vibes and great service. Early so it was Quiet but nice.

Great location for a rest and a bite.

By A E T Dell |

Really loved this place. Comfy great location and lots of interesting stuff to see on the walls. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fabulous breakfasts and lunches

By Lisa C |

We dined here twice - once for breakfast and once for lunch. A lovely menu choice, good quality food, competitive prices and great service. The avocado toast with egg was superb!

Good views and service, although average food

By Kay G |

The views are good, and they have a good variation on the menu. I had breakfast, it was ok. It didn't taste very freshly made, unfortunately, which was disappointing. The food was presented well also. The service was good, though.

Eagle Cafe is fantastic

By jengrossi28 |

We had breakfast on July 19, 2022. Here when it opened and seated right away. The food was excellent. Breakfast burrito, sourdough French toast and banana pecan pancakes. Would definitely recommend.

Of all the restaurants we

By Gareth T |

Of all the restaurants we tried in SAN Francisco this was without doubt the greatest. The food is no nonsense but outstanding. In a city with so many excellent places to eat this was the only place we went to more than once. We will certainly be going here in our next trip. Staff and service was first class without being over the top or in your face. The best coffee and pancakes in the whole of the Bay.

Save your money—Go next door!

By Kim C |

I read decent reviews online. Wrong! I completely regret going here. We ordered calamari, soup and salad and crab melt. The “melt” wasn’t even melted in the middle! Tasted like a crabby version of a tuna melt you can make at home. Kids had fries—they were good. Our bill was $100—-I would have rather spent it at Fog Harbor. Guess I learned my lesson!

Not as good as it used to be

By Lisa M |

We have been coming to the Eagle Cafe for the last 25 years on Christmas Eve for breakfast to celebrate the anniversary of our engagement. We missed last year because of Covid. Every year it has been fabulous except for this year. The menu (quality and plating if the food) and service changed and it was very disappointing. Sadly we will not return. Not sure if it is new ownership or what changed. Please change it back to the special place it used to be.

Sunny Side Up

By A R B |

Stopped off here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Looked to be the first place open in the immediate area around the Pier. Found a superb seat out the back in the sunshine and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The food was good - french fries with an Eggs Benedict was new to me. The coffee was good with refills included. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, a very positive breakfast experience.

Lunch in SF

By Susan T |

Took the grandkids to lunch yesterday after our tour of Alcatraz. Service was great, food was good except the toast on the avocado was too soft, should be toasted longer.

Breakfast in San Francisco? Qui!

By Alfonso A |

Are you in San Francisco? You can't miss an excellent breakfast on Pier 39 This is the place for quality food and incredible courtesy of the staff

Good family choice

By Star803 |

Had a great lunch here after our Alcatraz tour. You can walk over from Pier 33. Good view, clean, great service, tasty food and very reasonable. Highly recommend for a casual family lunch spot.

Horrendous service and average food

By Stephen H |

Horrendous service, average food. We arrived for lunch at about 1:30. Ordered and the food for the four of us arrived one at a time spread over 20 minutes. The server lazily kept leaning over people to get to other tables rather than walking around. No cutlery or napkins laid on the table. The server just dumped them all on the table for us to lay out. The food was so so. The server started clearing away the table and dropped the bill before we had even finished eating. Then he wasn’t impressed when he got no tip. Impertinent and Cheeky! On the way out I told another server about how terrible the service was and how average the food was. She told us they were closing soon at 3pm. I mentioned that we would have understood had they told us this at the beginning. She at least apologised while cleaning away everything from the table.

Lovely find!

By veracooke11 |

We were recommended this cafe by a local and we were not disappointed. Gorgeous food and service was fast and friendly. We hope to return on our return to San Francisco.

Great food, value and service

By Gracie2307 |

Excellent quality and great service. I went for the award winning clam chowder and it was special. We also had fish and chips and the tuna patties. All were excellent and we topped it off with some local wine. Good value also.

Won’t rush back

By maddie |

An average breakfast but quick service. Didn’t have an option for oat or almond milk which was disappointing. Staff were not very accommodating so won’t be rushing back.

By Mike S |

We had a wonderfull lunch! The staff was very nice and helpfull, and the food was amazing. We had the Eagle Burger, toast avocado crab and chicken tenders.

Breakfast/ Lunch visit - Eagle Cafe

By Alex Crusoe Andrew |

In Eagle Cafe, the staff are super friendly and very energetic. Meet Liz, a super energetic heroine in Eagle cafe who is driving a service straight from her heart. Approachable, patient and always recommend the best option available. The meal options are extremely good. A must place to visit in SanFrancisco, especially on Sundays.

Amazing

By Tim M |

Amazing. This is what San Francisco is made for. To produce this restaurant. In this place. With this food. On a beautiful day.

Great location to enjoy lunch and drinks

By Jul K |

We visited the Eagle Cafe three times whilst in San Francisco it was the perfect place to sit outdoors and enjoy a cocktail. We also had lunch which was reasonably priced and very enjoyable. The service was great on every occasion with friendly and efficient staff.

Good Food, Reasonably Priced

By cohoman |

After arriving at Pier 41 by ferry from Angel Island, my family decided to get dinner at Pier 39. The Eagle Cafe was at the entrance of the pier (upstairs), so we selected that restaurant after seeing the high prices of the 2 other seafood restaurants right next door. This cafe was small and quaint with very friendly staff. They have both inside and outside seating (we opted to sit inside as it was getting chilly outside). I ordered the salmon while my wife got the crab patty melt both of which were very good. I can definitely recommend this place for a good lunch or dinner.

Great bay location

By Stephen F |

Lunch time drinks then a return for dinner House Pino great food good Pasta with pesto lovely . Staff nice and friendly.

Great view

By neil872022 |

Staff sat us right next to the window, actually out over the Grand Canyon. Free WiFi, food was OK. Maybe offer more choices, increasing numbers of visitors are vegan and appreciate vegan options.

Lovely cafe

By melp592022 |

We made 2 visits here for drinks, lovely location and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this place, we didn’t eat there, but the food we seen looked gorgeous!

Had dinner the first night

By Angelface67 |

Had dinner the first night in SAN Francisco was delicious seafood is so fresh would recommend the calamari, and the seafood pasta was very affordable. Staff are friendly I asked for scotch and coke, seems Pepsi is the drink of choice in most restaurants and they obviously had problems with my accent as I ended up with a large glass of Pepsi and no scotch, lol.

Unavoidable !

By Yvan H |

For an unforgettable breakfast, a must-see at Pier 39, varied, copious and tasty dishes. A place not to be missed in SF!

Good

By K B |

It was fine - I went for breakfast and ordered the eggs Benedict. I did think the Benedict would be better based off of the reviews but it was a very average meal. It’s right on the water with nice views. The staff were nice.

Excellent breakfast

By John T |

Great breakfast, excellent service . Very good value right on Pier 39. Our hotel had ludicrous queues for breakfast so we decided to give that a miss and come here . Great decision and lovely way to start the day.

Great food & Drinks

By 1oct |

This place is a must!!! Great service right on the bay with the perfect views, highly recommended.. 👍🏻

Get your own drink/food

By MaryStIves |

No happy hour anymore, hence expensive drinks looking at 15USD for 1 cocktail in May 2022. No table service, as still following old virus rules. Lot's of places closed down in area now and I think they know they don't need to offer any discounts anymore.

Best Food

By biskit2012uk |

Amazing food and super friendly staff not to be missed best on pier39 Very welcoming and great views of Alcatraz

Interesting ordering

By aberdeenangler |

I was very satisfied with the quality of food here. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, what was rather odd was how my order was handled. Each breakfast choice included eggs in one form or another. I don't like eggs and asked to get a breakfast without them. I was told, though, that I would have to order what I wanted as a combination of 'side orders' and be charged individually for my choices. I don't think it made a great deal of difference, price-wise, in the end of the day but it seemed slightly bizarre. Nice views out over the San Francisco Bay and there is some outdoor eating. Place was very popular and busy - bear in mind at peak times.

Very Solid Food With Amazing Views

By Rexzar |

This is an end cap restaurant at Pier 39 in Fisherman's Wharf on the second level. The views of the San Francisco Bay are amazing. The quality of the food is good and was quite good. Due to the location, pricing was as expected. Very solid choice.

Cold fare

By manonspot |

Came into the Eagle cafe out of the pouring rain as it was one of the only ones open early morning,I only wanted a coffee but my wife wanted something to eat so ordered avocado on toast with poached egg and French fries. We presented a coupon that our receptionist at our hotel gave us to get 15% off food and waiter acknowledged it and took it with him.My coffee came first and was lukewarm, when my wife’s breakfast came I asked the server if he could add some hot water to my coffee as it was very lukewarm,to be fair he brought me another one which was perfect. When I asked my wife how her breakfast was she said it was nice but Most of it wasn’t warm,I tried some French fries and they were barely warm suggesting a reheat. The toast and avocado were nice enough just not warm enough. When the bill came there was no sign of the discount coupon taken off, just a suggestion for a large tip that was not forthcoming.

10/10 service from Jefferson

By Jael Lorenz A |

Great ambiance with a nice view of the marina at pier 39! Jefferson gave us great service. Attentive and quick to serve. 10/10. The chocolate pancake is a must try!

Best fish & chips ever!

By P M |

Polite, courteous staff. Relaxing atmosphere and great service. The food was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Value for money at Pier 39

By The_Glovers_UK |

The Eagle cafe San Francisco was recommended in our guide book (Lonely Planet encounters) and was good value for money considering some of the other options at Pier 39 so we stopped for lunch. The garlic fries were well described and we had nothing to fear from vampires for the remainder of our stay. The fish tacos were lovely too!

Lunchtime Break

By harnett2020 |

Lovely place with great friendly staff and good food and beer. Staff took time out to make us welcome and we would love to visit again.

Lovely place for breakfast

By Deb M |

I was traveling solo and wanted to sit outside for breakfast. the service was lovely and the food was good.

Really Enjoyable Lunch

By paulnolan63 |

Stopped off at this restaurant 2nd Feb for lunch, quality food and service. Excellent sea food chowder served in sourdough bread bowl.

Be sure to visit at least once

By M J |

After the first breakfast, we were so impressed with the food, staff and ambience that we came here every morning during our entire stay in San Francisco.

Great view and nice staff, and bill came in very reasonable

By Michael D |

I was looking for a place with a nice view to get some work done, and chose this place. After entering someone who I think was the manager said he could help me, but then got swept up with other customers and I was left waiting for a bit longer than I think I should've been - I understand they were busy though. Other staff helped me out and were very friendly and gracious the whole time! View was great and if you sit back in the right spot out on the patio you can get some great sunshine. I'd come back :)

Wonderful breakfast

By suetoyne |

we had a wonderful breakfast 2 mornings running in San Francisco at the Eagle Cafe. lovely food, and friendly staff.

Would recommend!

By Holly G |

By Richard B |

Very good service, Nice restaurant layout. Standard breakfast choices. Nice view of Fishermen's wharf. xxxxxxxxxxx

Only went for a drink

By Michelle G |

Drinks good had what we wanted, bar needs a good clean sticky bar surface. Young lad served, he was very good, change of bar staff to a really unfriendly guy.

Amazing food, fast service

By Nancy F |

The food was amazing. Fish tacos were the best I've ever had, with a fresh side salad. We sat outside in the warm sun, sheltered from the wind, and enjoyed table delivery. Can't recommend enough!

Great breakfast at the Eagle

By Matthew C |

What a superb location. We picked the Eagle after reading reviews on TA. I'm really glad we did. With amazing views and great food, there really isn't anything not to like. Plus, the history and how the Eagle came to be. We had pancakes for the kids and the scrambled eggs with ham & sausage. Superb is all i can say....

Beautiful American diner with views of Alcatraz

By milo_3012 |

Nice diner in the harbour. Prices are very expensive as everywhere in SFO. It was average in taste. The service was good. You pay 5% on top as a donation.

Lunch

By nangie832025 |

Staff was nice but service felt rushed and forgot several items seemed like they were busy but wasn’t

Eat here for a great feed at Pier 39

By Susanif |

Food and service excellent. Price very reasonable. Dont understandvwhy everyone was queued next door!

A reasonable option in the heart of Pier 39

By KABReading |

We are normally well-prepared travelers, researching for hidden gems and restaurants that the locals recommend, trying to steer clear of very touristy eateries as you often overpay for mediocre food. However, we had an early ferry booked to Alcatraz and Eagle Café was conveniently located and the menu looked reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised, the food was standard breakfast fare and we had eggs, bacon and potatoes, which were all well cooked and delivered quickly. As it was off season (January) the restaurant was reasonably quiet and the service was attentive and quick. Overall, not bad for a restaurant located in the heart of the most touristy place in San Francisco.

Amazing View

By Butterworth Family |

We had drinks and a snack at the Eagle Cafe. We sat outside on the terrace which has the most amazing views of the bay. We would definitely recommend.

Delicious food with good choice

By jackie k |

So good we went back, clean, friendly and the food was delicious. Good value for money. Inside and outside dinning with some views across the bay x

Fantastic Food and Great service

By Rita A |

Recent visit from Uk. The food was fantastic and great value for money. Our waiter Alfonso was great and very attentive.

Decent food and good service

By cadanasava |

The food was ok and the server was attentive. Slightly overpriced, hence the four (not five!) stars. Had a 15% off voucher which I think would have been a fair price for the experience we had.

Breakfast

By Paul B |

Excellent breakfast had by myself & my friends. Good value. The 3 of us had the traditional & Californian eggs Benedict & pancakes

Average food, high price

By Kari Eilsabeth ... H |

The food was more like junk food than other breakfast cafes I have eaten at in the US. The food was not very tasty, it was ok, but it did not feel like it was made with much love and thought. We went there for the view, but it was no views, at least not where we we seated. Felt like you average mean on an amusement park.

Excellent

By Cliff N |

Great location with a wonderful view of the harbour from the balcony . Nice friendly staff. Recommended

Waited 25 mins for two drinks !

By Matt E |

Visited last week for a quick drink and a small plate of food. food came out after 10 minutes however only got the drinks after having to ask twice where they were. No one should have to wait 25 mins for a pint of beer and a fruit juice.

Excellent service and great food…

By Alan |

Excellent service and great food. Great location and staff even remembered us on our second visit… one of the best on the Pier

Amazing food and views

By audrina o |

What an absolute gem of a spot on Pier 39. Had some breakfast here on day one in San Francisco. Sat on the waterside to eat so we could still see the sea lions. Had amazing pancakes. A cheeky seagull did swoop down and steal my bacon but I was quickly brought some more as a replacement. Had pancakes in other places throughout my two weeks road trip but these were the best. Made a second visit for lunch on our last day and again the food was amazing. Staff are very friendly.

Eagle Cafe

By maryjanelk |

A no frills place to eat with a generous amount of good, fresh food. We all had seafood, and it was well cooked, delivered quickly, and we were not "rushed". My youngest takes a long time eating, and I requested her food ASAP, and it was delivered while we were just starting our appetizer. Waitress efficient, and we would eat here again if we were in the area. My older daughter and I both had the salmon, my younger the fish and chips and my husband the cod.

Food

By Voyage642072 |

Excellent food and service, setting is amazing, views across the bay. Would recommend a visit when on Pier 39.

Affordable & Delicious Lunch w/a View

By craindedo |

Our chowder and fish tacos were wonderful, came very quick, and were affordable! We sat outside at the ledge on the deck with a beautiful view of the bay and Pier 39. Service wasn’t awesome, but we’ve yet to find awesome service during our San Fran visit. The rest made it worth it though!

Great staff & location

By reb_ellious144 |

We hung around at the Eagle for a few hours one morning before a flight, and ended up having both breakfast and lunch there. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and it has a great place to sit outside where you can see the Golden Gate and San Francisco I’m the distance. Food was ok too.

Fast service and delicious lunches

By Bartonista |

Really fast service when we ordered, food came out within five minutes! Great place to eat while waiting for a Blue and Gold Fleet tour - the food was excellent and was a reasonable price.

By Nigel P |

Excellent food and friendly service Great location. Central to amenities and visitor attractions and ferries.

One of the beast breakfasts in town!

By FarAway61272536693 |

The food (Veggie Omelette and Chocolate Chip Pancakes) was really amazing! It was one of the best breakfast menus I've ever had!! The service was super nice and we waited about 5 minutes for the food to come. The price really shocked me (positively) because I expected it to be way higher. The restaurant is at Pier 39 so perfectly central to the main hotspots. Totally recommending it!!

Breakfast before Alcatraz

By tami13077 |

Breakfast was great! Choices were varied and not so long you couldn’t decide. Food was delicious and we tried a couple of mock-tails that were also great. Quick, friendly service. You can’t go wrong really.

Top nr. 11

By Peter F |

The top nr. 11 from the best place in town. Good service and very friendly. And the outside area is very sunny and you have a good view. Fox & brandy

Great For Breakfast

By ladybug5 |

The Eagle Cafe opens early for breakfast offers inside and outside seating and the food has large portions and offers great views of the Wharf

Clam Chowder Soup in Pier 39

By DidiD26 |

Looking for a clam chowder soup in a bread bowl at Pier 39, we stopped at the Eagle Cafe. No line up compared to the fish restaurant next door. It was quiet at 3 pm. We had to order our food at the counter. Not too long was the wait. The soup and the fish and chips were very good. The view on the water is nice for those on the outside verandah.

Must-Visit for Food Lovers!

By Jasmine G |

Eagle Cafe boasts a charming waterfront view that enhances your dining experience. The casual, laid-back atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing meal while soaking in the scenery.

Great food, great service!!!! ❤️

By Kim N |

We were in a bit of a hurry as we were booked to get the ferry to Alcatraz! We told the girl waiting on us and she took our orders (4 of us!) and got it to us so quickly!! And we had poached eggs, bacon etc!!! Service with a smile too!! And it’s a gorgeous location!! We ate outside!!! Would love to back to San Fran, and if I do, I’ll be visiting Eagle Café again!!! 👍🇮🇪☘️

Lovely location, food and service

By Anne K |

We visited twice while visiting San Francisco. Lovely location on Pier 39, very friendly staff and tasty food. We had breakfast both days but the menu looked great for other meals too

Good spot for breakfast with a view

Gave this a four because of the staff and location. The wait wasn’t nearly as long as the time quoted so that was nice. My sister and niece wanted to eat somewhere by the ocean so we chose this place after reading the menu. They had the avocado toast with egg and pancakes. I’m vegan so I went with plain coffee (they do not offer plant-based milks just half-and-half & 2 percent) and an order of home fries. I was told they were cooked in vegetable oil. It would have been nice to have at least one plant-based milk. It’s 2023, after all. Would I eat here again? Not by myself but my sister and niece enjoyed their food, which did look delicious.

Worth the trek from Chinatown to the Bay.

Great place to sit,eat and drink and watch the world go bye from the outside verandah. Good menu choices for breakfast and lunch, with an outside view over the marina, seals, and Alcatraz. Well worth a visit.

Recommended with your eyes closed!

We went there for family dinner. The dinner was excellent: the clam pasta was perfect, worthy of an Italian restaurant, the shrimp perfect as well as the crab ravioli (killer) and the salmon salad. Frankly, it's a change from what you find in many American restaurants. And to top it all off, the prices are very attractive and the service impeccable. The waiter enjoyed practicing French with us at the end of the meal. Recommended with your eyes closed!

Great breakfast in a great location

By Wes H |

A great breakfast spot for our large family with a good selection and a fantastic location. We were able to spend a few minutes checking out the sea lions before we grabbed a table by the door with a view of the Bay Bridge. We ordered a selection of items - pancakes, eggs Benedict, french toast, etc - and then popped in to Pier 39 for some souvenirs. All in all, a good breakfast spot in a great location.

Amazing food!

By gusser216 |

I had a vegetarian burger and it was some of the best food Ive ever had, they have great views of the pier and sea from the outside and inside areas, I would go again 100%

As usual amazing food and amazing service crew. Unfortunately the outdoor terrace was closed due to wind and cold. Otherwise excellent service and food as always. Thanks / Samer

Beautiful view

By kaj20 |

This place was recommended as a wonderful spot to have morning Bloody Marys. We sat on the patio with a view of the harbor. It's at the beginning of Pier 39. The drinks were delicious, and good service too.

Little gem

Avoid the que very quiet, harbour view. This cafe is in prime position at Pier39 The meat was cooked to requirements ,prawns, chowder and seafood tacos divine. Nice choice of wines Excellent service

Sunday morning breakfast.

By Marco B |

My wife and I went in Sunday morning ordered breakfast. I ordered eggs over easy. I got my eggs scrambled. I wasn't able to ask for the right eggs. Our waitress took our order. And we never seen her again. I had to ask other staff members to refill my coffee and to remind them of my wife's lemonade. That She ordered when the staff had brought our food out, they never came back to check on us. I had to wave members down but I will say their food was good.

Great Food, bad coffee

By Trip09029770366 |

The food was delicious. I ordered the avocafo/egg toast and a pancake with banana and pecan nuts. That was amazing. The team is also very kind. The view is gorgeous! But the coffee is disgusting! The worst coffee I have ever tasted. Please improve this. Can't be too hard.

Great place and nice people

Very nice staff, our waitress, dolly, was chatty and informative about the area. Food was fast and the drinks were strong!

Good Food For Lunch

By Scott Ingram |

I had a club sandwich for lunch there on Tuesday 10th March with my friend while we were on holiday in San Francisco, California at Pier 39 and the lunch there was delicious thank you so can't complain too much.

Great breakfast

By Heather W |

Visited twice for breakfast on our recent holiday. Excellent, fresh food. Service was great. Huge portions meant no need for lunch Really set us up for the day. Our 8 YO asked to go back so was a big hit with her too.

Scrumptious meal and lovely view

By Rachael J |

Came with my family after going to Alcatraz. Was a lovely find with tasty food and great atmosphere. I had the breakfast burger and a strawberry lemonade. The burger was maybe my favourite burger ever; well cooked and juicy with crispy bacon and a gooey egg. The drink was also delicious!! Very much recommend if you are in the area.

Free WiFi!

By chrisbarrow1990 |

I didn’t even go in but I had full strength signal from the bench outside! If you’re in need of internet but don’t have any data on your phone, and you’re in the pier 39 area be sure to hit this place up (from outside)

Re: Eagle Cafe flies high!!

By MajkMan |

Great spot at Pier 39. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The Mrs. had the avocado toast with egg and home fries which she rated 'Egg-cellent' (she thinks she is funny. I had the ham and cheese omelet with the home fries and a coffee which also was delicious. You are at the Pier, so you will pay. With tip it was about 60 bucks, but worth it.

Excellent breakfasts

By tinylass |

We ate breakfast here three times during our week and it was excellent every time. I had French toast, an omelette and eggs Benedict. The service was always great and the prices reasonable. Lovely views across the Bay from the window seats.

Overpriced and overrated

By Gulliver047 |

Breakfast was disappointing as was the service. Ordered crab benedict which was simply eggs Benedict with a very small sprinkle of crab meat which was hardly noticeable. Overpriced and overrated. Worst breakfast on the trip!

Great varied menu and lovely staff

By jillclark29 |

Great food and superb atmosphere - a lucky find on my way to Alcatraz. Beautiful views from the cafe and opportunity to sit outside if wished. Traditional bar type restaurant with comfortable seats and good sized tables. Very clean including the toilets - love everything

Pier 39 for breakfast

By Milt001 |

Found on pier 39 really good food, this restaurant together with 3 others on the pier are owned by the same family. Gets very busy, go early for breakfast.

Very Good Breakfast Pier 39

By OregonOpus |

Very good breakfast experience, food served quickly at a reasonable price. Good variety of standard breakfast options. I will return next time I’m in town.

Highly recommend for a memorable group meal!

Eagle Cafe provided an outstanding dining experience for our office dinner. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable. The menu offered a great variety, and every dish was delicious. Highly recommend for a memorable group meal!

Tasty Breakfast

By SAB5859 |

We had our breakfast here with my daughter and granddaughter the first day we were in San Francisco. We all had something different and we all liked what we had. I had the breakfast special with a side of biscuit and gravy. The portion size was good. Great choice on the breakfast menu. Our server Dolly was very nice and efficient too. Lovely setting on Pier 39.

Great fish and chips

By BackPacker800547 |

Very welcoming (especially for such a busy place), let me try one of the ales on offer. Wide ranging menu and a decent fish and chips on offer. We luckily got seats outside on a nice sunny day.

Perfect start in the day

Fabulous Food

Fabulous food and great service. Fish and Chips in particular was delicious and as good as English fish and chips. Would highly recommend!

Varied menu and well cooked food - definitely worth a visit.

By Amy B |

We ended up eating here twice during our 3 day stay in San Fransisco. I loved the history of the place and the menu was varied and plenty to choose from. Over the 2 days I had a ham and cheese omelet and eggs benedict, both of which were really tasty and well made. The omelet was well seasoned and the poached eggs were perfectly cooked. I had originally planned to ask for my omelet without the seasoned wedges but forgot, and I'm glad I did - they were delicious. I also tried my kids avo on toast and french toast, both of which were tasty. The service was great, the views were stunning and we couldn't fault the food.

A place with a beautiful view

By Cüneyt Durhan |

The meal was enjoyable with the beautiful view of Alcatraz and the Golden Bridge. Cheeseburger meat was delicious, extremely successful. I recommend the place

Good food in a fun location

Really good food and service. Only dropped a star as everyone had their meal and I had to wait for mine. Having said that I would recommend here and I would go back.

Fisherman's Wharf Gem

By Steven T |

A fabulous place for breakfast or lunch. Eggs Benedict and french toast (both using sourdough bread) were generous portions and excellent tasting. Great coffee. Decent value for Fisherman's Wharf. Service was friendly and atttentive. Steps from Blue and Gold Ferry. Nothing not to like.

Loved the pancakes!

By Caroline R |

Excellent breaksfast. Loved my fluffy pancakes and bottomless coffee. Hubby had eggs and bacon - all well cooked. Fast service.

everything is pretty good. the food is delicious, a little expensive, but worth it. the interior is interesting and beautiful. a little cramped. it can be seen that it is not always convenient for waiters to run between tables and not collide with each other. If we are in San Francisco again, we will definitely stop by. The staff is very nice, patient and friendly. some seem to be very interesting people. I follow all your news on social networks, it's a pity that there is no staff there and he is not marked there.

The Eagle Cafe pier 39

By Fiona Johnston |

When we are in SanFrancisco we always make a trip to the Eagle Cafe. This started in 2012 and for the last 10 years we have visited . Food , Service is all good. The staff are great. Highly recommended.

Great Outside Vista, Mediocre Food

By Suezbaker |

We choose this place because it had been around for a long time. We ordered calamari for $12.95 and the clam chowder in a bread bowl for $10.95 When the calamari arrived it was so small It almost appeared to be baby calamari, this caused them to be over cooked. The soup …. The soup had a very odd taste of a spice I never tasted before. The soup lacked flavor and clams. Almost like it came out of a can. The bread bowl tasted day old. When we exited there were not many patrons in there. I know why. I would not recommend eating there. A drink on the patio would be nice but no food! It is at the beginning of Pier 39 so go explore the many other options. Anything has to be better.

Too. Inch work to eat here!!,

By lharrington5 |

Stopped in for lunch after a GREAT time on the Red and White cruise line. Seated and then ignored! Finally flagged a server and was told that we order on our phones, yup drinks from bar and food! Was not told to use one device so all items would come out together! So we each tried to navigate their QR code system which is a NIGHTMARE!!!! Have to enter entire order all at once or to add a drink or any other item have to begin whole new order and enter all info including credit card numbers!!!! So I ordered a drink and when I wanted to order my food had to enter all info again! Drinks came very slow and one at a time. One member was served food before their drink and the rest of us watched them eat! Spoke with manager after numerous issues with QR code kicking us out of app, she didn’t offer to help or comp anything! Had to get up and get own silverware, napkins and refill own coffee cups from a station that was poorly stocked!! Will NOT be return8 g to this hot mess of an restaurant!!!!!! Also food was meh…..

Fish Tacos and Burgers!

By jmsmas |

I had some killer fish tacos! They came with a salad, although plain it was tasty. My boys had burgers and crispy fries and really enjoyed them. They were very helpful with our allergy requests and we appreciated the many questions we had being answered so kindly. We all agreed it was great and definitely worth a 2nd trip next time we are in the city. The view was great! There is a 15% off coupon if you go to the visitors center and get the Pier 39 coupon book.

Great experience

By Natalie G |

Being the first ones in at the beginning of the day, we could choose where we wanted to sit. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food came quickly and was delicious. Would highly recommend the Eagle Cafe.

You can eat a great clam soup, fish, tasty salads and delicious sandwiches. Too bad we couldn't come back again!

Average Food. Poor Service

By theadamsfamilysix |

Had to wait for a text which never came. Returned at time which was estimated only to have to wait a further 10 minutes. No flexibility with the menu even though we had an egg allergy in our group. Overall very disappointed

Great Fish and Chips!

By Leland S |

Fabulous fish and chips! Wonderful friendly staff! The fish is crispy and delicious and the fries are outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant at Pier 39!

First breakfast

By Yves D |

Arrived in San Francisco at night and the hotel had no breakfast. At the reception we were advertising Eagle Café, the oldest adolescent see immediately: we will have breakfast there tomorrow. So said done, in the morning took the cable car along freemont street and then walked to eagle. Eagle is located on Pier 39 and has stunning views of Alcatraz. The service is super friendly and the food lickable on thumbs and fingers
