Good pizza. One slice I...

By Dreamer82924 |

Good pizza. One slice I had was really good. The other was just okay. So if you don't get something you like, try something different and you might like it better. Very small place but I'd recommend it if you are in the area.

yum!

Excellent pizza. We liked the meatball/jalapeno pizza but there are many to choose from... It's one of the best pizza places in Austin.

Thin crust for the win !!

Thin crust pizza was delicious. Delivered within the hour. Contactless with no issues. Kids loved this no nonsense pizza.

Sighs for Pies

By Michael S |

Tiny restaurant with covered outdoor seating. 10" gluton free or 14 and 18" regular pies. We had the red sauce with hatch peppers and bacon 18" pie. The crust was thin and crispy while my daughter loved the gluton free hatch sauce, extra mozzarella with red onions on the side. Loved the pie's balance of heat and pizza flavors. Will go back as often as I am in the neighborhood. I assume the other locations are just as good. Extensive menu for topping choices.

Totally Austin, Totally Great!

By CelestePeacock |

Here's the deal- you have to decide whose crust reigns supreme (said in Iron Chef voice). Do you like a more traditional crust or do you like a thin and crispy crust? If you love the latter, then East Side Pies is for you. They have a great variety of pies to chose from. Feeling more cheesy-saurus like me? I gave their Moon Tower Pie a try and really loved it. It is uber-rich so you won't need a big pie. The delicious char on the crust combined with saltiness of the sauce...ummm, fantastic! I think my husband is half grizzly bear...seriously, the man loves salmon. I mean loves it, so when he saw he could get a pizza with salmon on it, his eyes widened in delight. Pick yourself up a Wild Blue too if you're feeling grizzly-like or are rocking a major hipster beard. You'd be super legit bringing this pie home. Why the four stars you ask? My heart belongs to another pizzeria in ATX. East Side Pies has it going on though and I'm happy I tried it.

A little to Austin(ish) for me

By mikehurd |

Late night decision and starving. Great choices, maybe to many. Pizza was good, you can tell its "hand made". Huge cookies for desert. I guess I was looking for something more in the lanes. worth trying, delivery was quick and efficient.

Wow, that’s a great pizza (and more)!

By TexasRangerMan |

In Austin for son’s dive camp at UT, and this place is near our AirBnB. First, let me say that this is the best hand-made, hand-cooked pie I’ve had in a long time, and I love pizza. But even better, there’s a coffee shop and craft beer wing next door which also has a very nice selection of wines. Outdoor seating (pet friendly) and awesome people make this the real whole deal. Way to go!

The Best Pizza

By NTSU1975 |

Some may argue, but this is the best pizza in Austin. We have ordered full pizzas many times, but my latest stop was just for a couple of slices. There are some great choices here for something unusual as well as the usual. Small location. Don't plan to eat inside. Tables available outside.

Thin crust goodness!

By TracieV |

To be fair here, my review is intended for the W Anderson location that is not listed on this site. However, it is a satellite location of the Rosewood restaurant. Great for thin crust lovers. Compared to the other popular place in town, (SoCo area), I thought this place was better tasting and I felt like you got just a little more for your money. I've only had the pepperoni at either location though, so take that for what it's worth. The slices here are huge and not dripping in grease, we didn't experience a wait, and the staff was friendly.

Good lil hole n the wall

By TravelinHorn |

Place is tiny with a few parking spots and street parking. No real inside except to order to be aware if its summer, will be toasty outside on the patio. Pizza is good, maybe not great. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'd go back and check it out more in the Spring or Fall when the weather is nicer.

ESP - Hit it out of the Park ! Best SAUSAGE ever on a pizza.

By budbeerman |

was renting thru AIRBnB on the East side of Austin and saw a crowd late night as we were cruising home. My wife grabbed the number and we called immediately to place an order. 45 minute wait and the hot 18 inch thin crust pizza was at our door served by a clean and friendly driver. they call it the Chicago; Italian Sausage, roasted red onion and green pepper - I call it a Little slice of Heaven right in my mouth (to quote my pizza loving wife). Seriously it was a perfect blend of sauce, cheese and the best damn sausage ever placed on a pizza. thin crust that you can fold over as the slices are as wide as they are long - ask for the chicago square cut if you like it tiny. I am glad to see the east side of austin creating a real community and gaining some traction. NO Barton Hills or Terry Town for this traveller.

Thin crust!

By Mishka01 |

We ordered in their pies. Delicious! Thin crust which I love! Simple, not too many ingredients. Fast delivery!

Super tasty!

By John T |

One of the best thin-crust pizza joints around! Fun atmosphere, right next to the best home builders in Austin (Hatchworks). Worth the diet-bludgeoning!

Amazing Pizza

By ObruceD |

This pizza is fresh ingredients mostly grown on premise. The crust is just amazing. Can't go wrong getting pizza here!

Creative, quality, thin crust pizza

By AustinEEE |

Excellent thin-crust pizza with a large variety of toppings and sauces. Ingredients are fresh and local. Being a New Haven pizza snob this place was just excellent. Note this is more a pick up your pizza kinda place than a sit down restaurant. Best pizza I've found in Austin!

One of my favorites

By Beverly G |

Pizza was great, loved the crust. The boss man brought us a couple to our apartment for our first night in Austin and we enjoyed it. I love pizza and have a few favorite places across the US and this is my newest favorite!! My children enjoyed theirs as well. I would definitely order from here again if I ever make it back to Austin!

Thin crust pizza

Cheap, plenty of seating, and friendly staff. The pizza slices are huge, hot and delicious. A nice place to grab lunch.

Delicious Pies for Off-Site Dining

By MDMensch |

We ordered several varieties of pies for a social outing and LOVED them. Order with confidence -- thin style pizza "con sabor"

Just like I like it

By n0rmalyndaz |

I ordered a thin pepperoni pizza and that's what I got. It was thin and crispy. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We sat outside on picnic tables and enjoyed the view.

Fresh Pies locally sourced ingredients conscientious Chefs

Great neighborhood pizza place. They make an artisan pizza, even gluten-free. As well you can get a slice heated for a quick snack. My first experience with the "Beard Net" modeled by Josh the Master Pizza Chef at East Side Pies #inEAustin #ATX #Pizza #curlyhairfree #BeardNet

Try the thin crust!

By Cindy D |

One of the best thin crust pizzas I've ever tasted. I don't know how they do it without burning the crust, but they do. Excellent!

Wonderful pizza

By Jay F |

Went for lunch for a very first visit and ordered slices. The choices were not from their menu but were varied and interesting. Super thin crust. Very good, flavorful ingredients relatively sparsely distributed so every bite is different. This is very good, bordering on exceptional. Will definitely be going back.

Internet Friends Get Together

By MichealW2041 |

Several people who connected via the internet, and were attending the same event, all gathered at East Side Pies, to meet in person,a entry the pizza. The facility is interesting. You walk in the door, and if there are more than three customers, you end up in the cooking area. The interior looks like it's been in it conditions for quite sometime, and needs some sprucing up. There is no indoor seating, so this is all takeout. Some small tables and chairs on one side of the building, and a couple of long benches and a long table, under an overhang on the other side. The pizza itself was fair, pretty good topping, but very thin crust, and overall quite salty. The attendees and conversation made up for the venue.

Great Little Dive

By Al M |

This place is the definition of a dive. The customer part of the pizzeria is literally the size of a bathroom stall. We ordered four pieces of pizza. The slices are huge, but the crust it ultra thin, so it doesn't make you feel bloated. I have no idea what we ate, the pizza had locally grown veggies on it, that I have never heard the name of before. Anyway, the pizza was very very good so, I would come here again.

Best Austin pizza

By caroline s |

Fresh ingredients, terrific sauces, on a thin crispy crust. All are individually made without a factory, volume approach. Worth the time to find the place.

Best Pizza in Austin

By Wendy F |

I'm admittedly a pizza snob, hailing from NYC. This is THE BEST pizza I've found since we've moved down here. Sauce and cheese are authentic, and spices are right on (for a pie with mozzarella and red sauce). Most other places get SOMETHING wrong, but not these guys. My only request is that they make a thicker crust pizza too.. if they did that, I would probably cry tears of joy. Makes me feel like I'm back home :)

absolutely one of the top places in austin for pizza. certainly in the top 3.

Just get the cheese!

By Karen B |

So I love pizza. And I’m a pizza snob. This pizza is amazing. AMAZING. I thought a cheese pizza with white sauce would be boring. WRONG. It is excellent. Had the sausage pizza as well. No complaints there either. But that cheese pizza....

Creative, local, and one of the best pizzas in Austin!

By Marcus L |

This place is an Austin gold mine - so many choices, you can be really creative! We ordered from the Mother Ship on Rosewood in East Austin. They also have locations on Anderson Lane and Airport Blvd. The crust is super-thin and crispy! There are several different sauces to choose from - red, pesto, olive oil, ricotta, black bean, spinach curry, and hummus. When we visited, they were even experimenting with a slightly sweet beet sauce! They have 11 meats and 24 veggies to choose from. They source ingredients from local farms and make everything themselves, including the knock-your-socks-off homemade Italian sausage and homemade meatballs! The pies are packed with ingredients. They offer 10, 14 and 18-inch pies, with a gluten-free option on the 10-inch crust. They also offer slices at each location. Some of the pie names: Buscemi, Damon, Homer, Marge, and Tremor! The Greek salad was tasty. They also offer other salads and "pocket" sandwiches. The hours are 11 AM to 10 PM (11 PM on the weekends). HINT #1: At the East Austin location, there is room for 3 people to stand inside - seriously! - and there are a few tables/chairs outside. So, if the weather is not fun, call ahead for pickup. HINT #2: They deliver, but only "north of the river" (Ladybird Lake). HINT #3: If eating a pie at home, preheat your oven to 425 and bake for a few minutes on a pizza stone or directly on the oven rack, as the middle part of the crust tends to get soggy when not consumed right away. The oven trick will crisp it right up!

Great pies!

Had to do to go because of covid, the parking was a little confusing but the food was so good. We ordered a pizza and salad it was fast, fresh, and yummy! Good work guys!

Excellent Pizza

By El_Pirata |

I am a NY pizza snob, I admit it. ESP has excellent slices. The plain was just right. The veggie mix was off for a pizza, sorry. It was the veggie combjnation, lemon beets, kale and more. I will continue to visit based upon the plain thin crust.

Fast service, good food

By White_Kong |

We stopped by for lunch after walking through the nearby cemetery. The first slice I had was so good I went back for seconds. I'd definitely visit again.

My favorite pizza!

By Janice F |

If I am ordering pizza I always call East Side Pies. They have really interesting and yummy flavors.

Best pizza I've ever eaten!

By Blaze-21 |

This is the kind of pizza you fold to eat--thin, crispy, but very tasty crust, with quality cheese and other ingredients. So much better than any pizza we ate in Italy! Everyone has their favorite kind of pizza, but to me, this is the best I've ever eaten. I highly recommend one called the S*M*O*R*S.

Great pizza!

By Amber R |

Thin crispy crust and fresh toppings! Yum!!! We ordered it to pick up and had to wait a few minutes longer than was told but when we ate the pizza it was worth the wait! We would definitely go back when we are in Austin again!

A piece of pie that pleases

By Lacey C |

During my trip, we asked our server at Amy's Ice Cream where a good pizza place was and he recommended East Side Pies. It's a little off the beaten path and the view there is not ideal, but it is worth going for the piece of pie. You can purchase the pizza by the slice if you'd like. It's a tiny little place with only outside seating. You can get it to go if you'd like too. I will be eating here again when I visit Austin in the future.

Solid Thin Crust Slice - Outdoor seating only

By GlobalProducer |

If your looking for a solid slice of thin crust pizza on the east side, then I recommend East Side Pies. The crust was crispy and the sauce had decent flavor. My only comment is that I wish the slices were a little bigger. Thinking back on all the slices I bought while living in NYC, these are slightly smaller in comparison. Seating - This location does not have any indoor seating. If your looking to take cover from the elements while you eat, then I would suggest saving this place for another day.

SO GOOD!

By Michael P |

If you love absolutely fresh, thin crisp crust pizza, THIS is the place! Watched the rocket for my pizza (locally sourced) being washed before dressing my amazing pizza. This is a teeny place...only seating about 8-10 people, so go at an "off" time or take out. Also a really good Greek salad!

Fine thin crust pizza and great East Austin vibe

By RogerReady3 |

Our quest for great pizza brought us to the Rosewood Ave. location which I believe is the headquarters. They are open on a Tuesday when many other pizza places are closed. The have a large menu of interesting and non-traditional toppings as well as standards. They make use of local farm ingredients which is a real plus in my book. The crust is very thin and crisp which I love because I hate feeling as if I am downing large wads of dough. We shared four different large slices and got two canned sodas for about $15. This is a tiny little place with take-out and outdoor seating only. It has that chaotic old East Austin feel that may turn off some stuffy old farts from West Lake, but the staff are very friendly, eager to help and explain ingredients and toppings, and have a great sense of humor. We, being two older, very non-hip, non-East-siders were treated very warmly and made to feel right at home.

Farm to table Pie

By Young Tran |

Every time we visited Austin, it's a must for us to dine at this place at least once. The pies are thin crusts and we can easily eat any pies on their chalkboard menu of the day. It's that awesome.

Excellent thin crust pizza with tons of options

By AustinEEE |

Very tasty thin crust pizzas. Their menu has the biggest offering of toppings I've seen. Much more unique than the name brands. Service was great too, even offering to help my wife get the pizzas to the cars (we did a pick up order). Online order system worked as advertised. Perhaps a little expensive but worth it.

Good but pricey

By Johnny B |

They do make great pizza here. There crust is wonderful, nice amount of sauce and cheese and its never overly greasy like some pizza places. I would give them a 5 but they are a little on the proud side. $40.00 for 2 pizzas (one pepperoni, one ham) is on the expensive side for pizza.

I love their pizza!

By Nunya246Bus |

I've eaten here probably 4 times in the past two weeks and each time, the pizza was amazing. You can order a slice of pizza there or a pie to go (they deliver as well). They have a lot of unique options and it's all locally grown ingredients. Definitely my favorite pizza place!

Somewhat Odd Crust, but very good pizza

By JMNumen |

The crust here is a bit odd...Not puffy, quite flat but the pizza is still very good--good sauce, well prepared toppings and very tasty. Friendly staff.

Wow, Very Thin Crust and Great Flavor1

By Porfiriopicante |

I love think crust pizza. This East Side Pie has very thin crust I like to get done extra crispy. Mmmm good nice a large slice. The ingredients are fresh and tasty and the price is right. I can get a slice and a Mexican coke for $5.50 now thats a deal!

Expensive and not great

By Ruth H |

Spent $43 dollars for one pepporoni pizza, garlic knots (which were not hot or tasty), And 4 drinks. They don't offer water for sale. You can ask for a cup of water. The pizza was quite salty. The marinara sauce you get for the garlic knots was cold not warm. Won't be visiting this place again. Over priced for what they offer.

Wonderful pizza by any standard

By sweetiesPennsylvania |

Austin's passion for food prepared with flare from fresh, good quality and if possible local and seasonal ingredients Translates into fantastic pizza at East Side Pies. The whole operation takes place in a cramped tiny building with a few tables outside and a take out/order in service. The selection of toppings is huge and one can order a "named" pizza, build your own or mix and match within a pie.Wonderful thin and crisp crust, top quality Italian sausage and mozzarella, fresh tomato sauce, nicely seasoned hot and sweet peppers add up to multiple mouthfuls of deliciousness. If you want good pizza within 2 miles of downtown this is your place.

Great pizza

We got a large pizza and it was great new York style oizza. Great cheese and good pepperoni. The sauce had a good flavor as well. I highly recommend

Great pizza great options

By melyndak68 |

Eastside pies has a great selection of quality pizzas with a myriad of topping varieties. This includes choices of sauces as well as cheeses along with other toppings. Their pizzas are always reliably good and they give back to the community as well. They use local veggies and homemade sauces. Thin crust pizzas, highly recommended.

Great pies guys!!!

By Jamie K |

Great pies & they even delivered them right before closing, thanks we really needed it after a long day. We got 2 & thought we would have dome for tomorrow but wrong it all got ate. Next time we're in Austin we will definitely will have to have some more

Will definitely come back!

By Melissa P |

Co-worker recommended East Side Pies and we were not disappointed. In his words to recommend it, "It's freakin' awesome!" Excellent thin crust pies, some with really unique ingredients and flavors (squash sauce), but the traditional stuff too. Don't forget to ask for a salad... even though you don't see them. I had a Greek that was yummy. You're going to be eating outside, so that might be a consideration depending on Austin's weather. Some sit-down and stand-up areas around to the side.
