A beatiful slice of Italy located in Century City!!!

By Gene A |

Eataly is a first class eatery that offers qa wide variety of Italian cuisine. You can chose a sandwich at the Panninoteca, a slice of pizza at the pizza a taglio, a wood fired pizza in the pizzerria, a delicable salad at the Insalata bar and my absolute favorite is the fresh fish at Pesce. The fish is always of the absolute highest quality and there are always amazing options for the fish of the day. My personal favorite is the black sea bass al forno(oven) and it is equally as good alla Griglia(Grilled). Then when you have completed your amazing meal you can stroll to the pasticceria for a pastry and an amazing espresso...They even have Jamaican Blue Mountain espresso(for a nominal up charge...) No matter what you are looking for Eataly will be a delight to your palate and leave you yearning to return!!! Buon Appetito!!!

Great pizza

Stopped by here for lunch as love the one in Las Vegas . We had a pizza slice. A bit expensive but really nice. Good selection of Italian foods and lots of interesting things to purchase.

Fun to Visit

By mpin |

Eataly is a great visit - vast number of top-notch, high quality foods, produce and other items in a fun environment. I enjoyed the best espresso here by a long shot compared to elsewhere during my 3-week visit in the States. Look out for the range of beautiful cookbooks.

Italian "Disneyland" for Italian food lovers

By Joanna B |

Eataly is a sort of paradise for any Italian-aficionados like myself. I have spent years in Italy and this place feels like I'm transported straight to Florence every time I visit. It is like a Disneyland for all things Italian and I am so happy exists. I can't stop telling friends and family about it. I also want to visit the other restaurants, and the bar on the rooftop. I ate at the causal pizza/pasta spot and everything was delicious. We got the margharita pizza, the taglioni, and cacio e pepe. I have to say thats the best cacio e pepe I have had in LA. It wasn't creamy with heavy cream, but perfectly cheesy and the black pepper were in rough chunks, not from the pepper mill, but hand crushed and very fragrant. I would go back just for that cacio e pepe and a glass of red wine. Then, end it with a mini baba au rhum from the bakery. What a gem in LA.

This place is s disaster

By Patty V |

Never again. We roamed aimlessly. The layout makes no sense and only creates frustration. When we asked where to go for a sit down we ended up wandering aimlessly again. Once we asked yet ANOTHER employee we were finally directed to the pasta sit down place. The server was rude and snide. The pea ravioli and tasted good. The pizza was beautifully presented and had almost no toppings on it. Barely any sauce. Gross. I can’t see why the place had any people in it.

Not your usual lunch at the mall.

By lenetskyshev |

Located within Century City Mall is a European style Italian market. Fresh fish, pasta, and just about anything else you want can be found there. There are several "walk away" food stands as well as three upscale restaurants. We had lunch at one of the sit down restaurants. The food and the service was excellent. We sat out side and had a leisurely lunch with a glass of wine from an extensive wine list. LA at it's best.

Fabulous Italian restaurant called Terra with Panoramic View

By sandratilkin |

Eataly located in Century City Mall is a three floor food emporium which houses s gourmet restaurant on the top floor with panoramic view of Hollywood Hills, an extensive market and additional restaurants which include a vast wine selection, pastry bar and fresh meats ,and a lower floor with gelato and coffee choices.

Best Lasagna EVER!

By peechtearwapist |

We visit a couple times a year and never miss the lasagna. We are food enthusiasts and this is hands down the best we’ve ever had. Please take the time to sit down and enjoy this dish at La Pasta. The entire experience is quite fun, if you love food as much as we do. Set aside a few hours to take it all in.

Italian pleasure

By Terry S |

Tried the seafood restaurant as there are 3 to pick from. Small menu of choices, good service, excellent food and ambience. Expensive, fun to try out. Fish is fresh and changes daily, so what you enjoyed today will be different tomorrow. Had pasta too which was great.

Another awesome and TASTY night!

By Frank M |

Another outstanding meal! Pizza is next level good - the crust, everything - the best! We had the Massese pizza which is with spicy salami- it was “just right”!!! Simple pasta - so good and light. Arugula, bright and tasty! Meatballs - just like Mama’s!!!! Service was impeccable! And the Prosecco - perfect with dinner. Summary - some of the best pizza and Italian in the city - all in a fun like your in Italy world!!!

A Taste of Italy in Los Angeles

By Michael M |

It’s fantastic to have an indoor market with eateries, restaurants & cafe serving some of the best of Italy. Since we couldn’t go back to Italy this year due to the pandemic, this was as close as we were going to get. The shops had all the sauces and ingredients to make just about every Italian pasta dish you desire. The fresh pasta shop is essential and the selection is good. The bread shop has all sorts of breads to accompany your Italian meal. We started off at the meat & cheese shop and stocked up with a nice selection for our charcuterie board. They had a lamb prosciutto! Not my favorite but it’s the first time I’ve seen lamb prosciutto at any shop in California. We moved over to La Focaccia and ordered some slices of pizza to complete what we wanted to have for lunch. We also loaded up on a cart full of pasta sauces, fresh pastas, breads, spreads and even glassware. We hurried home and created our charcuterie board, toasted our pizza slices, opened our bottle of Italian wine (also from the Eatly shops) and had a wonderful lunch. It was our little Italian lunch retreat and everything was very good. Can’t wait to go back there again next time I’m in LA.

A guarantee

Eataly is always a guarantee! When you can’t get enough of eating crap around it’s always a great solution! Ingredients of the highest quality, simple and light cuisine!

First and last visit

By John H |

Last Monday was my first (and last) visit to Terra, the restaurant on the top of the Eataly Restaurant . The outside deck and view are spectacular. With the heat lamps going, it was the perfect setting for a chilly afternoon lunch. But the accolades sadly end there. The service was virtually non-existent. After a lengthy wait for a waiter and menus, he then disappeared after taking our order. Some 20 minutes later, the food arrived. Mediocre and way over-priced. And the ironic thing is that one of our party is a regular patron. Don't ask me why!

Pesce restaurant leaves you hungry

By Diane E |

Perhaps pasta should be incorporated as a side dish and not only offered as an entree- as 3 scallops for $28 is steep by any standard. Service was prompt, atmosphere very nice, lively but not too loud. Be aware you’ll need to order multiple dishes to fill up at this restaurant.

TERRA Nova

By Dessertarian44 |

Terra part of the EATALY marketplace cafe conglomerate in Century City is a lovely place for "al fresco"/ rooftop dining. Reservations are a must, as even on a weekday, the place was very crowded. Even though we were dining outside, it was surprisingly noisy, for those of us who like to converse during a meal. For those unfamiliar w/ the geography of Eataly, it is a bit hard to find. Terra is located on the third floor rooftop. There is a spiral staircase which may be challenging for some however, an elevator is available. The papparadelle w/ ragu sauce is excellent and would qualify as "comfort food" if the portion were bigger - about three times bigger. The pasta was silky smooth and the sauce richly meaty. That said, it is a dish for which I would return. I don't often feel that way about restaurant food. Pastas are not big enough to share but the rucola salad was packed w/ greens, enough for two to three portions for diners w/ small appetites or those sharing a number of dishes or having a pasta entree. The limited dessert menu was not as tempting as the patisserie options and chocolatier temptations offered in the Eataly market area. It also allowed for a change of venue and a sort of progressive luncheon format. On a positive note, the small pasta options did leave room for dessert. The service was friendly, prompt and not hurried. Although very crowded, we dined leisurely. Terra is a nice place to take out-of-town guests who might not often have outdoor dining options. The ambiance and demographic seem very "Southern California." It is expensive for what you're getting but not unexpectedly so for the area.

It's not NY

By Su25bag |

The food was good, especially the calamari, but if you going here expecting the NY experience, forget it. It's smaller and has fewer options. We had a decent meal and service was very good. Skip the bruschetta and go for a pizza instead. It's a far better value. The Shopping Center that it is in is vastly improved and a fine way to walk off all of that bread.

it's an experience not a restaurant

By Safari05797899505 |

don't come here just to sit and eat. enjoy the experience. have an espresso at the coffee corner, a glass of wine at the roof bar, by some good cheese, meat and wine and you will have great fun.

Only Go Here if You're On Ozempic or an Expense Account

By Janis H |

This is one of those "maybe it's just me" restaurants because the patio was packed with diners. It is charming and the service is attentive but the food? Dear God, it's rare I pay $48 (including tip) and have to go directly to the grocery store to slake my hunger. The $48 of food was the equal to maybe 2, possibly 3 slices of tuna sashimi chopped and piled beautifully in an ocean of olive oil. I wanted - NEEDED - a piece of bread, which was a mere $10. Great bread, mind you. But miniscule. One friend's Waygu was 2 thumb-size pieces, most of which she had to spit out because it was too chewy. Yes, they were appetizers and had we been informed that they were that skimpy we may have ordered differently. Although at those prices, I doubt it. If you have to eat lunch at the mall in Century City, go to the Food Court.

Nice gelato

By lbernad |

I only asked for the gelato cup med. Too few tastes for me!! (Argentinian ice-cream fan ) so I only asked for two different kind of ice cream tastes. The price was a little expensive (nearly 9 USD for an ice-cream!!)

Fun Experience

By Kathy C |

I love all things Italian and Eataly has it all. Great shopping and eating experience. We had lunch in the restaurant and tried the lunch special of fresh pea ravioli and it was delicious!

Amazing and overwhelming!

By deborah e |

I hadn't been to an Eataly before! Wow! Glad I allowed a good amount of time to browse! The layout and restaurants are a little confusing, but the staff was very helpful (except in the wine dept., where we were ignored). In addition to shopping for cheese and salame (nice selection) we had an amazing pizza for lunch and gelato for desert. Can't wait to go back now that I know what to expect!

Perfect mother’s day lunch

By Grace R |

Our millennial son and daughter brought us here in celebration of Mother’s’ Day. It was a excellent choice. Nice place, attentive staff and delicious food. Serving is a little bit small. Restaurant is located inside a mall and has to pay for parking. I forgot to ask if restaurant validate parking, so we pay at exit.

Love This Place!!

By Dena B |

Took my Italian foodie friend here when we were in town for a concert. I have been to the one in Chicago and took a class. It was awesome. I would definitely plan for a class experience here in L.A. as well. We loved our experience here. Great staff helped me fins wines I was looking for. There was a distributor offering tastes and lots of info which we really loved! Had a slice and a caffe while shopping, all really tasty. I live about 3.5 hours away, I will be back!

Shopping

By H7794NMdonnah |

Love this place! Freshest fish brought in daily. Meat section is also very good. Always buy fresh pasta to cook at home as well. Best of all is the outstanding selections of cheese! They sell pizza by the slice or have great restaurants as well.

Don't bother--terrible

By Seetheworld253 |

My ravioli was down right terrible although it was a toss up between an underlying chemical taste and flavorless. I hate one bite and pushed it away. My husband's pasta was also tasteless. The waitress could have cared less. On the upside, the salad was perfect.

2 business dinners gone very well.

By Hedin |

PROs: intriguing menu, fine ambiance, great views/open air, indoor parking. Good service, great presentation and fine tasting CONs: nothing, really. CONCLUSIONS: very nice place for a large variety of occasions. Large restaurant, with open spaces - not exactly a tiny intimate place, just so you know.

I WON'T BE BACK

By The Luxe Critic |

Good service. Sat on balcony overlooking the traffic and sucking up the car fumes. Prawn cocktail tasteless (truly tasteless)....bread was average. Wine excellent and I did purchase a bottle on the way out and the lady in the cellar was very helpful. SO in summary it's like a cafe scenario more than anything else and certainly the ugly sister to its New York counterpart which is outstanding. Nothing to rave about and very expensive ($243.41 for two glasses of wine, a prawn cocktail and burrata salad) - madness.

Dinner at EATALY

By Scooter-vista |

I live EATALY IN New York City, the pastas, cheese, and wine were phenomenal. We decide to visit EATALY in Los Angeles was also wonderful. This location is conveniently located in Century City Westfield mall. A must visit if you are in LA area. Enjoy

Mediocre

By Franckske |

Bland bland bland service decor and most importantly the food. It began with the waitres not able to help me unload my coat… they didn’t have room for it Apetisser and main course came out at the same time and worst of all the pastas were so bland

Market; Restaurant; Kitchen Store all in one.

By B D |

To describe Eataly best it is a "Market" with full service counters such as meat, pasta, Gelato, Cheese, etc...; a "Restaurant"; and a "Kitchen Store" all in one. Allow at least 30 minutes if this is your first time visiting an Eataly. This is not my first visit to an Eataly located in the states nor will it be my last. This particular visit was purposely made to shop for some Italian staples to take home and pickup some ready to eat items to enjoy on the road heading from LA to La Jolla. The cost of the items are mostly overpriced but all items were enjoyed. I will have to say that all Eataly's have been getting more "commercialized" and less and less authentic over time but I still enjoy the offerings and will return.

Rude and Offensive staff who yelled at my kid

By sugarplumshoes |

We come to Eataly to buy groceries twice a week for years, but today this caucasian woman in her late 20s or early 30s working near the cashiers scolded my son for using too much hand sanitizer. I thought he had broken their most expensive wine or something judging by the angry look on this woman’s face. Her exact words were “stop wasting the hand sanitizer, we have to pay for it”. And walked off. We are definitely not coming back unless we can somehow know that this rude woman doesn’t work there anymore. Nonetheless they need more employee training on not taking your anger out on kids.

Place to avoid, in terms of money for value

By Gio R |

Notwithstanding the place is a high end place where to buy and consume food, and despite the overall good quality of other premises in different countries, this one was one of the worst. Items for breakfast there were tasteless, the waitress/cashier could not even understand what we wanted and the wait was overall unacceptable. Not to mention one of very likely Managers who at the breakfast counter, together with another person was tasting an item and his expression (to be at least avoided in public) after tasting was at least disgusted.

G R E A T P A S T A

By Sandro1205 |

The great pasta of this place has to spelled in bold for good reasons. I can assure you (from the proud heights of my Italian origin ;-) ) that the pasta of this place tastes exactly like in Italy, and also as I like it... Al dente, fresh and tasty tomato sauce, a sprinkle of parmesan, that's all! I ordered a matching glass of red wine (what a wine list!) from a nicely smiling waitress, and a simple and excellent lunch was done. Searching for a fast but delicious lunch: look no further!

A fancy market and restaurant

By Giggi |

We went to Eataly for early dinner before the show. It’s located in Westfield mall of century city. A great concept of market and restaurants’ mix. We got seated fairly quick. The waiter was friendly. The dishes we ordered came up quite fast. The beef brisket tagliatelle could never be a mistake as well as Margherita pizza; the best is the simplest. The prosciutto was average. The peach Bellini was obviously from mix, not what I expected. Other than that, the vibe was young and cool. We had a short time to explore the market. Everything looks clean and well decorated.

Just Wonderful

By Tiffany G |

Eataly is an outing. If you go hungry you will enjoy it even more because every few feet will be better then the next! It’s a market and eatery with homemade pasta, bread, cheese, pizza, pasta and more!! Give yourself time to walk around to look around the entire place. You can’t go wrong going to Eataly or taking family and/or friends from out of town. They have a huge selection of wine, a fish restaurant, two large gold pizza ovens serving delicious pizza, dessert area, coffee bar, gelato, cannoli - it’s just wonderful!

Sunday brunch

By Alexander S |

We went to Il Pesce for their fresh seafood and we were not disappointed. We ordered the mussels and fresh fish of the day black sea bass. They were fresh and delicious. We’ll be back.

Yes, a little hyped but its still a cool place

By Ashley S |

Grocery shop for Italian goodies or have a slice of pizza. Maybe you want to fine dine? Perhaps a nice gelato or pastry? Maybe a cup of thick hot cocoa? This is the spot to get it all done easily. Park three floors down near Macy's and the escalators will take you straight to EATLY. All the food is good, you can pick up fresh bread and now that the hype of the grand opening has subsided the wait times are easy.

Serviceable

By FadedFoodie |

The texture and flavor of the pasta was better than most. Subtle sauce. Delightful white wine. Service was spot on.

will probably go somewhere else the next time we are in town

By Bawgreen |

I don't have anything terribly negative to say -- but, overall, our meal was just average. The pappardelle in bolognese was good -- nothing exceptional. Same with the spinach pasta in mushroom sauce. The meat skewers were actually quite good. The host staff was welcoming -- our waiter, however, was not very personable.

Capri@Eataly: Isle Be Back (Yet) Again!

By singingbackup |

Once again my friend and I dined at Capri @Eataly, and it continues to deliver a wonderful culinary experience. Designed as a Summer pop-up, Capri is going into September still offering a bright and breezy menu, good drink menu (love the Italian IPA) and light, but decadent desserts. I strayed from my usual and enjoyed the MEZZI PACCHERI AL RAGÙ NAPOLETANO. The beef/pork ragout was savory and satisfying, the sauce near to my nanas and the pasta fresh (they make it right there in Eataly!) My dining mate stuck with his favored Ravioli and we both split the Limoncello Tiramisu. Sooooo good!! Parker was again steering the ship, making everyone in line and those of us seated feel like family. Bella took exceptional care of us throughout and was a delight to meet (sorry Alexandra!). I can’t help but wonder, with anticipation, either a different Autumn pop-up or perhaps some new offerings on the current menu. Grazie Capri!

Amazing Super Store of Italian food and wine!

By beneluigi |

We had heard about Eataly from friends in New York and Chicago. Having been to Italy many times we were looking forward to seeing it for ourselves. We were thrilled to find every food or wine you could want from Italy and all under one roof. The space is massive, arranged on three levels. We walked in and right away there was a wine bar and a coffee bar. We ordered macchiatos, which tasted just like the ones you get at those tiny coffee bars all over Italy. Heaven! Then we just wandered around looking at everything. you name it, they have it. There's a pastry counter, panini counter, butcher, fish market, fresh pasta, dried pasta, olive oil, ready made pasta sauce, salami, pizza restaurant, and on and on. Upstairs there's a fine restaurant with a wood fired grill. We thought we had died and gone to Italian Heaven. It was packed with people, but everyone was polite and friendly, and many were Italian. We ate paninis and pizza and bought some fresh pasta to take home for dinner. On the way out we stopped at the Lavazza Espresso bar downstairs and had an affogato, a scoop of gelato in an espresso. It doesn't get much better!

Huge- be sure to see the lower floor too!

By SFTRVLR |

Had always wanted to visit an Eataly in NY but haven't gotten to, so was happy to see there was one at Westfield Century City. It's a bit hard to find, but worth the search. First tip: there's a lower floor- much smaller (I thought- is this the whole thing?) but has good gelato and a few other stands. Up the spiral staircase is the main floor with a bakery, quick takeaway pizza spot, a full pizza restaurant and tons and tons and tons of aisles of Italian goods. (Plus many other things I left out). This is definitely a place you could spend hours and hours. Upstairs from there is Terra, a full service restaurant with a great rooftop outdoor patio and great view of the surrounding area. If you are in Century City area this is definitely a must stop in LA, especially for foodies.

Expensive Food, Poor Service

By 772patrick |

This place was highly recommended. However, after a wait, we received our food which was extrmely pricy. The wait staff was too busy and pretty much ignored us. No refills, no "how are you doing," nothing. Just take the order, someone else delivers the food and the bill arrives. Pretty amazing. Having said that, the food was good, but just not worth it.

Exceptional Eataly!!

By B. Darst |

This is an amazing place. You can shop for all things Italian, pasta, sauce, wine, etc. Then you can enjoy the delicious food at the many different little eateries. I loved the pasta and pizza place and enjoyed the pasta with the creamy pepper sauce. Service was great. We went on the weekend and there was a priced fixed menu for lunch and dinner or you can order off the menu. The wood fire pizza was also amazing. When we finished lunch we walked around the store and then had some delicious pastries at the bakery. There is also a gelato and coffee shop on another floor. Parking is so easy since this location is in the Westfield shopping mall. If you are in this area I would highly recommend stopping and enjoy some great food and shopping.

Great Location in Los Angeles

By Pamela L |

If you love all things Italian don't miss Eataly in Los Angeles! We stopped by to shop for picnic items and gelato while on vacation. Tons of safe, covered parking as it's in the Century City Mall. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and helpful. A great selection of Italian food items. Roof top cafe has a lovely view.

Reminds me of Gusto in Rome...

By daroldmark |

A lot of fun...Recommended. Homemade pasta, sauces, wood-fired pizza, beautiful salads. Very good quality. Gusto is a similar-concept restaurant in Rome. Both are exceptional. We waited 40 minutes on a Sat afternoon. We were rewarded with a perfect window table and attentive service.

An adventure awaits you...

By Tim W |

Okay, I have to admit that at first blush it is very confusing. You enter Eataly at a Gelato Bar on the 2nd floor of the newly remodled Westfield Century City mall. A sipral staircase takes you up to the 3rd floor, and an amazing italian food marketing, featuring sauces, vinegars, oils, fresh produce, pasta and seafood all available to take home and cook. But where is the restaurant? Wandering to the rear of the marketplace, we found a bar (finally!) and what is actually a collection of three restaurants. We ate in the pasta/pizza restaurant in full view of the seafood restaurant, but not allowed to order seafood and bring in to our table. Very confusing set-up...you have to know what you both want to eat before you commit to a table, because once seated, you are locked into that venue's food. We were not disappointed, and she loved her beet salad with fresh barrata cheese and fruit, and I have to admit, my lasagna satisfied a craving I have had for 3 weeks for some great italian food. The wine by the glass selections are vast, and a generous pour for your $14-20 per glass choices. If you are looking for meat...sorry, wrong place. If you are looking for chicken...nope. If you are looking for seafood, you sat down 50 feet west of the restaurant you should have chosen! So, admittedly we were not disappointed by our food, but disappointed by the lack of clarity as to our options. Once we finished dinner we wandered over to the seafood restaurant admiring their presentation of fresh fish and oysters on ice...a definite reason to return for a second visit! Beyond the seafood counter was a wonderful wine and spirits store that was fun to poke around in...then we found what we were truly looking for! A spiral stair case takes you up to the 5th floor to Terra, a woodfired grill restaurant with abundant outdoor seating and magnificent views. Smelling the lamb and beef being cooked over the open wood fire made us wish we were hungry again! Instead, we opted for cocktails on the patio, enjoying the full moon and city lights. We both agreed that a return visit to Terra would be our destination next time! Eataly was originally the brainchild of Mario Batalli, who has vanished completely from the food scene following sexual harassment claims over a year ago. I was never a Batalli fan (he always looked sweaty, with greasy hair and wore those ugly clogs on his feet), so his obvious absence was of no concern to me. If you are up for a little exploration in a unique market/dining venue, then I highly recommend searching out Eataly. Don't feel committed to the first restaurant you see until you have checked out all of the dinning options. I honestly believe that you can't go wrong with any of the choices, but you should explore each of your options before making a decision...you won't be disappointed!

Good food, arrogant servide

By ClanClark |

Food is nice, reasonably authentic, as were from the uk, we holiday in Italy every other year. However I had to wait for my entree until the rest of my family had pretty much finished. Brushed off several times by the server, with curt answers when asked where thing were - note to staff, it’s better just to say the kitchen made a mistake - than an arrogant brush off, ignoring the obvious.

mixed situation

By jeffrey k |

this is supposedly upscale Italian food, a place for "foodies". extensive wine list with a lot of interesting selections. one can get a decent bottle for not a terrible amount of money, but there is nothing for less than $50. two of us had arugula salads, and these were very generous and tasty. one of us had bolognese pasta, which was not rich, not a lot of meat. I had risotto, which was tasty but not overwhelming. one person had short rib that was tasty but not generous in portion size. one person ordered beef that was sent back on the basis of toughness, not a good cut of meat. there were several desserts chosen, including a very generous portion of tiramisu. coffee was not refilled. don't expect bread to be offered with the meal. for all the hype about Italy and the cost, we expected more. more flare, more flavor, just something more than seemed to come forth. this is a reasonably comfortable restaurant, but can be loud. also, to note that this review is for the upstairs fancy restaurant, not the downstairs venues. also irritating, for a pricey restaurant of this type, they don't validate the parking.

A Good Addition to the Century City Mall

By luv2travl003 |

Eataly has multiple dining areas (and food options), as well as retail food shopping. It's a fun place. Calamari and Bruschetta Flight were both good, and priced reasonably. Service was good, as well. Overall, no complaints. A nice place to dine in the mall.

Amazing place

By Joanne196550 |

Five on us went to Eataly for Sunday brunch and I was totally impressed with this place. There are many eating areas, inside and outside. The variety of Italian food for purchase and on the menu at the restaurants is very extensive. We had Italian coffee to start, then we moved on the pizzas, pasta and salads and we were more that pleased with our selections. We topped the meal off with a bottle of wine.

Saved by the linguine lobster but also not the best dish

By Lettoconleruote123 |

I decided to have the pizza because Pizzaioli were both Italian, bad choice !! Pizza arrived right after the order and was cold, so for sure the pizza was already made and served quickly to avoid waist ! I had to bring the pizza myself because waiter do not serve the water and bus boy not entitled of responsibility, what a pity because they were very nice compare to the manager that were out of concept and not good listener. So maybe she should be bus boy or at leat learn from their manner. The agnolotti : DOG FOOD actually the dog have better food, sorry pet’s 🙏🏻 No passion at all in the food … ops nearly forgot the burrata on the pizza not good at all, no creamy ! Even if remove the items from the bill, it does not make you feel better, mood already gone after the fist dishes, thanks to linguine that at least had the lobster cooked well and the pasta super al dente, that’s all. For sure do not recommend the pizzeria restaurant apart from the view.

Dreadful

By David K |

The staff is quite nice which is why two stars but that is it. We stopped in for lunch and I must say the prices are higher than Italy. How good a kids pasta and a pizza and salad cost 100 bucks! The buratta pizza was soggy and overpriced and although the place was empty we waited way to long. The pasta was just ok. Certainly nothing special and the arrugula salad with lemon dressing and Mary's chicken was downright awful. I think the chicken had to be frozen and totally tasteless and the arrugula was far from fresh and tasty. I guess when PE buys a joint and with some formula opens up everywhere you have to expect something like this.

Underwhelming experience!

By 840wendyh |

Underwhelming! Service was subpar as was food! We sat at the bar and it took 10 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge us. It was very clear he was not happy. We ordered a pizza and pasta dish to share and was just OK.

La Dolce Vita!

By Creeping_Death_LA |

My daughter just got back from Milan Italy after spending four months studying abroad and wanted to relive her foodie experience. The television news kept showing this mega-store when it opened and now I know why all the hype. If you want to cook Italian tonight look no further because you will find what you are looking for here. We tried two different types of pizza and they were both DE-li-Cious.

Eaty Los Angeles

By rojasbrosfood |

The place is very well assembled, the Automarket to buy any Italian craving or take-home food is spectacular, has two restaurants with table service and terrace and I think 5 to buy self-service food, including two bakeries and one gelato (ice cream). We bought a focaccia that were very good mortadella and mozzarella, very expensive. Very good looking but expensive candy, we don't buy it. Don't stop going to meet him. For me the best is still New York and the second best Chicago.

Il Pesce Cucina

By k e riley |

Just back from Italy, I decided to revisit Il Pesce to extend the vacation experience. The "catch of the day" fish selection is good and cooked well. There are other options but the overuse of chille is not authentic Italian cuisine. The service let the restaurant down. Amiable but amateur, the servers had to be reminded of basic items: silverware, water, etc. We ordered white snapper which "was for two and would be boned and served table-side." The fish was placed before the wrong person (we were three). I had to call another server and ask for plates and de-boning. There was some surprise that was couldn't eat from the small side plates that had the remains of bread, oil, and balsamic on them. Also that we wanted the fish boned! Will I return to Il Pesce? Yes, because the fish is good, but not before a period of time has elapsed.

Autentico!

By Tjokrosaputro |

One of the greatest food in the world for its loyalty to the local ingredients and heritage. That is what Eataly brings about. We understand with arguably the most complete quality varieties of real Italian ingredients in the shop, we should expect the authentic Italian taste in the restaurant. We did find it there. Nothing to fancy, just great everyday's Italian food at its best, served in a marketplace setting ... Mozzarella appetiser, Arancini, Salads, Pastas, Pizzas .. love it, classic!

I’ll preface this by saying the NYC location in Flatiron is better, but the Eataly here was solid. We got gelato and it’s pretty pricey, but the flavor is good. The server messed up my order but he rectified it once I brought it to his attention by making me a new cone, which I really appreciated. It’s an additional 1.80 for the waffle cone and not worth it. Just get it in a cup, although for the small size you can get the sugar cone for the same price. The pistachio is really strong and really good. The stracciatella has a softer texture more similar to true milk, and the cremino was chocolatey as expected but it’s like eating a less sweet Nutella in gelato form. There’s some seating but it’s limited. Walking around you’ll find pretty cool Italian food stuff although it is definitely on the pricier side. Didn’t go to Terra on the third floor although friends recommend it for dates. Overall it’s cute, but if you’ve been to other locations, you might find this location to be “meh”.

What a place for all things Italian, produce, groceries, food, wine. A relaxed enviroment to enjoy lunch or a coffee and cake. In our two weeks in LA we visited twice, will go back whne we return in October.

This is 10th or 12th visit. Consistently bad service. Good food.

By ErikLaykin |

It is with regularity and predictability that i have found the service (staff of all stripes) at Eataly Century City to be poor. Much of the staff is rude, curt, snide, often unhelpful and appear both unhappy to be working and absent on thier sense of hospitality. Very few smiles in the place. A truely unwelcoming place. That said, the place is beautiful, the food is terrific and the prices are high. Seems to me that this is a management and HR problem. They are clearly to blame. (Note to whomever is holding the debt on the private equity funding this joint: hire new mgmt ASAP) Examples from this most recent lunch that i observed: 1. When you say thank you to the server....no response, no smile, no eye contact...just a nod, zero interest in the customer. 2. Smiling female customer sits down at bar. Greeted by bartender who does not smile. Says nothing. No engagement. Customer orders glass of wine. Bartender leaves...returns, fills glass, customer smiles...says thank you....bartender says nothing, walks away with bottle. 3. I sit in restaurant and order pasta dish for lunch (25.00 for a small tagliatelli with meat sauce). I also order a cup of coffee. I am told. "We dont have coffee" really? I ask. "Nope." Kind of odd that you cant order coffee in an italian restaurant, i say. Finally server says..."you can go to the coffee shop...or you can go down stairs and have coffee". Really? I ask. Then i ask, so can i go to the coffee shop and order pasta then? "Nope". Finally i am told i can go to the coffee shop, order a coffee and bring it back to have with my lunch. I do so....and when i return i am greeted by the server who has the pasta bowl in his hand when he says in an unpleasant manner..."i have been waiting for you"!! Unbelievable. Two positives. Server asked if i wanted water with my meal, server said thank you when he delivered by credit card and bill back to me. I guess there is hope. ....still at the end of the day i think 30.00 for a small bowl of pasta in a fast food / markethall style environment with unfriendly service is incongruent with my expectations.

The best!

I love this place! Young, cozy and sprint! With imported product from Italy at a reasonable price (a little expensive, but on average for the area). Very high quality and very good value for money!

BUG IN MY SALAD!

By Amy H |

BUG IN MY SALAD! I found a ladybug in my salad this evening and they would not take it off my bill because it was a "natural bug". I am still in shock....I was under the impression that all bugs are natural, and that any restaurant that served one to a customer would happily take that meal off the tab and comp a round of drinks. Never, never again.

Unimpressive Restaurant In A Fabulous Store

By TJFLG42 |

On a recent trip to the Los Angels area, my wife and I visited Eataly. We had previously been to the one in Chicago, and enjoyed it very much. Eataly LA, like that in Chicago, is chock full of all kinds of food stuffs from Italy. The wine selection is huge and varied. It is worth visiting. However, unlike Eataly in Chicago, which has several small focused dining areas and restaurants, Eataly in LA has only two restaurants. My wife and our friends ate at La Pizza & La Pasta. It was really disappointing. The wait staff was hurried and overworked. We ordered the fried calamari for the table. It cost $14.00 and was not more than seven or eight pieces. One of our party ordered the Tagliolini al Ragu Bia which was tasteless. Another ordered the Peas Ravioli which was a very small serving. I ordered the Quatro Formaggi pizza which was quite good. Unfortunately, except for the pizza, the food was not very tasteful and the servings were minute. It all the dining was very expensive and disappointing. We have had much better Italian food in many other places and would not return for the food. However, the Gelato, sold at a separate counter area, was fantastic.

Soooooo Good!!!!

By CiaoBella0215 |

Amazing view, wonderful service , delicious cocktails and the food was spectacular!! I would eat here every day if I lived in LA!!! Highly recommend!!

Overrated

By Hector M |

The place is so crowded. Tables are too close to each other. The food was not good at all. Minimal portions on huge plates that barely fit on small tables. Just another LA tourist trap. And, I brought people from London there. Never again!

top notch

By LLZups |

Wow, the food, the service, and the view are amazing. We had the grilled artichoke, salad, pasta and steak. All we absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very beautiful and sits on the roof of the building. Views from every angle.

Great boxed choices. Great gelato. Pizza now disappointing

By AuntTink |

Have not been back for months. Was looking forward to their wonderful pizza. Wound up disappointed. Too much bread and not enough topping!

Freshly cooked pizza & great gelato!

By Lauren |

Great food with a range of choice on the menu. We had a pizza each which were freshly cooked and delicious! Our server was friendly and polite and made sure that we had everything which we needed during our visit. After our meal we bought some gelato from the gelato shop downstairs which was very good! Would highly recommend visiting!

Horrible hostess — not family place

By SebBarBer |

Horrible hostess — not family friendly. Went in at 2:30pm, lots of tables open, asked the hostess to situate me in an area with few people and she seemed offended, I was with a baby and she only offered me a high table, arguing the rest of the restaurant was closed. Walked around and found a perfect spot, asked the waiter if the space was open and he said yes. Clearly the hostess was too lazy to accomodate the needs of a client. Eataly, you just lost me as a client on account of terrible first contact service. What a shame, I was used to overpay for your food.

Upper Floor Dining Better than Expected

By carol c |

I had grown a bit tired of Eataly, but when friends suggested we try the restaurant upstairs, I didn't want to say no. AND I am sure GLAD I did not. Every part of the time spent was a pleasure. Although the tables are near one another, we were able to hear ourselves talk. The menu though not vast had sufficient choices for everyone. We shared a grilled artichoke and it was perfection. Better than any, anywhere. We tasted each other's steak, again perfection, pasta and salads, one better than the other. And then throwing caution to the wind, my friends ordered the peach panna cotta. Oh panna cotta, I thought, save the calories. Wrong it was a enticing and unusual as the rest of the meal. Not only was the pleasure of this meal ( the wine list offered more than enough well thought out possibilities at every price range) a surprise and delight, but a reason to return soon.

Rooftop dining

By Tandemlosangeles |

We regularly meet friends for dinner and tried Eataly last night for the first time. They take reservations unlike downstairs which is more like a food court. Lamb chops, pasta and fish were very good. They only serve Italian wines. Server was attentive and knowledgeable about wines and food. Parking is affordable for Los Angeles: $5 for 3 hours. Valet available too. The place had birthday celebrations going on and some brought young kids too.

great selection of fine Italian foods

By MooshLA |

Love the shopping experience here as I explore new tastes and packaged and fresh food items from Italy. They have a nice wine selection and love the make-your-own cannoli kiosk. Great coffee and gelato for a quick stop by or dine in for a more casual or formal experience. The easy access to parking is essential for the grocery loading.

If you can't get to Italy, try Eataly!

By 367Advisor |

I'm not sure if I should be writing this in the restaurant category, grocery or what exactly to call this place, but it's pretty incredible. Let's just call it an emporium of everything Italian! There are three floors, four restaurants, nine other places to eat, two sort of cafes, two bars, five fresh production counters, five retail areas, seating for 600 scattered throughout the building. The even have a cooking school, although I didn't see it. There is also a rooftop deck, but we didn't see that either, out loss! Eataly, is located at 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard at the corner of Avenue of the Stars. There is a parking ramp attached to the building. There is another entrance on the second level near Macy's, the other on the third level near valet. We parked in the ramp on the Avenue of the Stars entrance and followed the signs. Most of the products from the food to an assortment of small appliances (yes I said appliances and Italian of course) yes are indeed imported from Italy, there are a lot of local stars in the mix, including produce and eggs from local farms, grains from all over California. We at in the fish section and everyone thought their lunch was excellent! Check it out, it was unlike anything I had ever seen.

Went to Celebrate Daughter’s Birthday

By morrismasters |

Went to Eataly in the huge mall and ate at La Piazza for a birthday dinner. I was blown away about how nice and festive it was. Just an amazing place to be at. I wanted to buy a lot of Italian groceries and ingredients but I didn’t want to carry it around for a week while we were traveling. Went to La Piazza to eat and that was excellent too. We ate a Frito Misto fried Calamri with daises. Very good! Then ate a Margarita Pizza that was thin and crusty and delicious! This was so fun! I wish they had Eataly in Houston!

Nice Experience

By irawine |

We stopped in at Eataly for a pizza lunch and were not disappointed. Having previously been to Eataly in New York, this one is somewhat smaller with fewer dining options. There is, however, quite a bit of “eye candy” here ranging from exotic pastas to hard to find Italian liqueurs like Centerbe. All in all, it was a fun experience.

Delizioso

By Gabbyaddy |

This place is amazing, the fresh pasta was perfection on a plate. We got the gorganzola ravioli and it was absolutely delicious. The pizza was pretty awesome too. Service was second to none. Would definitely recommend dining here.

Roof Top Dineing At it Best

By Ed E |

I am a fan of Eataly in NYC, but haven't been blown away at the one in Century City, Los Angeles. It is a very strange and confusing layout that just makes me crazy. The last area opened (several months ago) was Terra on the roof top. It has some great views of the Santa Monica mountains, some LA sky line and a sliver of the Pacific Ocean if you lean out far enough. I have been going to the roof top bar for happy house for a couple of months and decided to give the restaurant a try last week. Let me tell you that the design of the inside restaurant is not going to win any design awards--it is noisy and kind of unfinished. But at the end of the hike up the circular stairs are 4-giant wood grills broadcasting some of the best grill note aromas you can find any where. Dinner and service were great. We order a couple of salads--Chopped and Little Gem (w/crab meat) $14 and $16 respectively. We splerged and order the 40-ounce ribeye (modified tomahawk) $110. The salads were both cold and crisp. The steak was cook to a perfect medium-rare-rare. The bits of char on the edges make me hungry just thinking about them. We ordered the wild musrooms and one other side which slips mind mind. All was great. The desserts did not live up to the rest of the meal. The Gelato cart was very weak (and very noisy clunking over the on even floors). Icey Gelato and weak topping were $14 and the Strawberry Rurbarb Shortbread was under-whelming. Overall a good food and service experience, next time I'll get my dessert at the dessert area downstairs or one of the other 5 frozen dessert places at the mall.

Roma in a Box

By BoboTravlr |

What a nice collection of food stores and eateries. We enjoyed the gelato and the limoncello bar. Bought some wine to enjoy at home and really was impressed with all the foodstuffs from Italy.

Not great service .but a beautiful layout / restaurant and fancy grocery store

By SunshineMontreal |

We arrived hungry for lunch and they sat us outside at their restaurant called “ La pizza and La Pasta . We had so many waitresses coming and going . We didn’t even know who was the main one , finally they took our order : cheese balls and bruschetta with ricotta cheese, as an appetizer. Then I ordered the gnocchi , my granddaughter ordered fettuccine with only butter , my husband ordered the eggplant 🍆 pasta which he enjoyed thoroughly. My gnocchi felt like it had sand in it ( like when u eat scallops that isn’t washed properly and u feel the sand in your mouth ) ! We were trying to flag down a waitress to fill Our water glasses ( very small sized glasses — easy to finish drinking a short glass of water ) ! We complained finally and the manager came over to hear our complaints. He was nice to remove the appetizers from The bill . And offered dessert but our granddaughter wanted frozen yogurt from Another place do we paid and left .

Vibrant dining, delicious Italian meal.

By Guy GD |

A first visit and it far exceeded expectations. On three floors, Eataly is a Mecca for delicious Italian food, wine and dolce vita. The store itself is worth the visit. It’ll tempt you to take away more than you bargained for. I bought 5 lbs of 00 flour to make pasta at home, inspired by such a memorable experience at the La Piazza restaurant (there are three others in the Eataly complex). The Polpette (meatballs) was delicious with its hearty rustic tomato sauce while the arugula salad was terrific, the DOP Parmesan Reggiano really making the dish. Downstairs there is a gelato store and on the same level a bakery. It takes willpower to leave without succumbing to the temptations of either.

Enjoyable brunch atmosphere!

By YaYa910 |

Had a ladies brunch, before going wedding dress shopping with my daughter. We got a table on the patio, weather was just right. I loved that it eatery was above street level. We each had a different dish - the consensus was: Fritatta - eggs were too dry Cannolli - two tiny pieces with hardly any sauce & no bread or salad with it - very overpriced. Eggs benedict on croissant - good, too much arugula salad Two of us also tried the gelato bar - it was really good! Tried the "italian style" toppings (balsamic dressing, olive oil, sea salt) on one scoop - it was okay for about 2 bites.....stick to the regular gelato sundae fixings (chocolate, whipped cream, cherries)!!

Not as I expected

By Cheryl Lyn |

The food was good, however, small portion on the Ravioli so my husband was still hungry. The restaurant was loud. The waitress barely looked us in the eye. When she talked to us she was looking around the restaurant. We came to try the restaurant specials for restaurant fest. We were a little disturbed to realize their $25 bottle of wine special on the menu only cost $13.90 in the retail area. The food was good so we may go again on a less busy tune so we can hear each other talk during our meal.

Italy in Eataly

By Hosh |

Our first Eatly experience was in the motherland, Milano, Italy where we got to witness the grandness of shopping everything Italian! Experiencing the same hospitality, products and flavors in Los Angeles was such a treat! The restaurants inside the store served the most authentic focaccia style pizza's🍕 and flavours you'd expect to experience in Italy. It's kinda like stepping into a portal and having a snack, lunch or dinner made from the kitchens of Napoli or Milano. If you have never been to Italy and want to see whats all the fuss is about real Italian Pizza, or if you are in LA and are feeling some Italian grub, or if you are just hungry, PLEASE come on down! You will be pleasantly surprised! 😇🙏😍🍕🇮🇹🍝

Average pizza

By Sofia |

We tried pizza at Eataly to look for a pizza that was reminiscent of Italian taste and with high expectations. The pizza was pretty decent, certainly good compared to many of the pizzas you can try in America, but still not comparable to our Italian pizza. Still a good experience, nice place and very friendly and kind staff. I'll be back.

Italian Overload

By Mcfire1 |

Now if you want to experience Italian culinary overload, this is your stop. There are so many choices on multiple floors. Seafood bars, seafood meals, meat butcher shop, more pastas than you you can ever imagine. Then all of the ancillary foods and spices to go along with your Italian experiance. When you think that you have covered it all, there is an abundance of wines to explore. Then if you thought you were done, there is the desert bar that is just loaded with all the baked goodies you can imagine plus all kinds of other sweets. Explore the vaiuos canned selections to get the real from Iraly goods that you want - mushrooms of all kinds. Cooking supplies, tools, jut about everything to buy. If you happen to get hungry, you can choose from seafood, pasta and pizza, plus a few others. Sit down and enjoy the freshly made goods, drink some great libations and Watch the staff prepare your food in the open kitchens . This is an experience! Parking is convenient under ground, $5.00 for our extended stay.

Great foodie experience

By Chinapjs |

Had been a few years ago to the original n Italy. This one was very good, almost like being in Italy. You can buy all kinds of food products to use at home and they have a lot of interesting cooked food, as well, for late breakfast, lunch or dinner. Pizza by the slice particularly good.

The biggest rip off in town

By Yosef L |

We went for lunch in the pasta section of the restaurants offered at this establishment. To my surprise after a very good experience in New York I was extremely disappointed from the quality of the dishes the slow service and the prices. The burata is a name it’s tasteless.the tomatoes served next to it in small plate used to be tomatoes they are mushy .and again no taste.the pesto tagliolini.they should Learn to prepare the pesto.the good thing is the bread and olive oil The pizza mortadella oily small and over priced If you come shopping there like in the fish counter the UNI Sea Urchin.is triple than the price in New York. Why. Well to conclude if you care about money this is not the place to get value for it

Great food!

By Reed |

While all Eataly locations are awesome, this was probably my least favorite La Pizza & La Pasta locations that I’ve been to. The vibe felt a little off, service wasn’t great but the food was still awesome. Amazing flavors from start to finish.

Very authentic Italian food

By lynndds |

We have been twice now to the L.A. Eataly and had great lunches both times. We have also been to the Eataly's in Bologna & Florence. Our latest visit was to the La Pizza & La Pasta and it was very enjoyable. The pastas were done perfectly, the suppli great and a surprisingly good Etna white wine. Previously we enjoyed the seafood restaurant. We also purchased wine, cheese and prosciutto at the store.

Delicious Italian dinner

By Seat8a |

The line looked longer than the actually wait time. It moves quickly. We had pizza, steak, wine and the squash blossoms. All excellent. The tables around us had all ordered the fried calamari and it looked and smelled wonderful, but we had to draw the line somewhere with the calories and opted out. Perhaps I will get the calamari next time and skip something during the day.

Always a great choice

By Tops333 |

I go to Eataly every chance we can get, so many choices, wonderfull food to buy as well. We are very happy that we are getting an Eataly in Toronto soon

Last minute lunch

By elizabeth d |

This is truly an adventure being there, it is more than just a shopping or dining experience! It is Fun, new, exciting, and a fantastic place to walk around....It literally transports you to the fresh open air markets in Italy, even though it is indoors. The breads ,pastas, meats, cheeses, and fish were all so fresh. It was everything Italian! They offer cappuccino, and gelato downstairs. The food and dessert are upstairs. They have a couple restaurant areas as well. The staff was all very helpful. They have famous chefs, and offer cooking classes that you can register for. You can not rush your time there as there is so much to enjoy!

Great Market...Meh Restaurant

By andzocchi |

The market is great but the restaurant was just ok. We order 3 different pasta dishes and none really impressed us. There was nothing wrong with them but not up to a true Italian standard as far as the sauces go. I ordered an arugula and fennel salad, it was abundant but had ver little fennel. The wine by the glass selection is very good. I was expecting a lot more.

Great pizza and pasta

By Basman |

Eataly is a great concept with individual retailers specialising in all things Italy. I would certainly shop here for my ingredients if I were a local. We had dinner at the restaurant- the food was of a high quality, however giving it five stars would have been a stretch as other Italian restaurants we went to earlier nailed it. I would give the coffee shop at the entrance five stars - the best coffee this Aussie enjoyed in California. It is true that coffee in the US is not what most Aussies would expect, however this was the only shop that made a latte in the style we are used to (just ask for the macchiato to get a latte - a latte in the US is what we would call a long white). I went to this coffee shop everyday while in LA!

My favorite place if you're an avid cook!

By Karen C |

I LOVE this place and wish we had one in the city I live in. They have a WIDE variety of Italian cheeses that you can't find anywhere else except in Italy! Their fish and meats are top notch! Fresh produce is like walking thru a mini farmer's market!

Love it!

By Caitlin A |

I love everything about Eataly. I've been to the one in LA, Vegas and even Florence, Italy! It's so nice to have one in LA when I need my Italian fix!

Awesome Cannoli’s

By Neal Berliner |

This place makes the best cannoli’s! If your in the Westfield Century City mall it’s worth it to stop by for one!

Not what I expected

By cindyn |

Very nice setting, but the food is average. Took the pizza back 2x to have it reheated. Still was cold. Staff is not overly attentive. Cannoli was not at all tasty. Prices are overly inflated for what you get. A big disappointment.

Italian oasis in LA

By giangy00 |

If you are nostalgic for Italy, this is the right place! Feeling at home, rediscovering the typical flavors of our country... Just what we nostalgics need when we spend too much time out!

Very Good lunch!

By PixieSam59 |

Went to Eataly for lunch with my wife while in LA and we were both impressed by the place itself (anything you can think of Italian food wise and more is there) and the quality of the food they serve. We both shared an appetizer of fritto mushroom and then we tried the raviolis and lasagna with 2 glasses of nice white wine. We went after downstairs for coffee and gelato...Service and staff is great. A great place for lunch, dinner and groceries!

Shockingly Bad – Worst Dining Experience in LA!

By Ramin B |

This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. My group of four adults went to Terra excited to enjoy a good meal, but it quickly turned into a nightmare. We initially ordered individual Bisteccas, but our waiter—a young, arrogant man from Milan—*forced* us into ordering the Bistecca alla Fiorentina instead. He ignored our requests and insisted that we try his recommendation. What a colossal mistake! The steak arrived barely cooked—it was supposed to be Medium but was so raw it looked like it had just been cut off the cow. I have attached a photo to show just how bad it was. It was rarer than rare, borderline inedible. To make matters worse, despite spending a considerable amount of money, we all left the restaurant hungry, angry, and completely unsatisfied. The waiter's attitude was rude and dismissive, and his lack of professionalism ruined our entire evening. It’s unbelievable that a place like this, with such terrible service and food quality, even exists in a city like Los Angeles. If you’re thinking about dining at Terra, don’t bother. This place is a complete disaster from start to finish. The service is horrendous, the food is appalling, and you'll leave feeling worse than when you came in. Stay away from this overpriced, overrated restaurant!

Italia!

By jdsbiz98 |

What a cool concept. A huge marketplace for all your Italian cuisine needs. From fresh fish, meats, breads to wines, olive oils, pastries, this is the place to come. They even have eateries and samples to enjoy. If you’ve never been you need to check it out.

Nice Outdoor Dinner

By Mark P |

We ate at the La Pizza and La Pasta restaurant within Eataly. It offers very good food in a casual setting. My nocina pizza, with mushrooms and truffle oil, was especially good. There is a small outdoor deck which offers a quiet place to eat in an otherwise crowded mall setting.

Fabulous!!!!

By justbeachy777 |

Eataly is absolutely amazing!!!! How I wish there was an Eataly where we live in Sarasota FL. I don't think I would ever get tired of this place. So many choices, so much to see, so much to try, so many samples. Their pasta wasa fabulous. Their pizza was the absolute best ever! Wow!!

Over hyped

By SteveTignor |

We have been to the Eataly in Milan and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately the Los Angeles did not match our expectations. Soggy pizza, ravioli with minimal filling. All over priced. It is fun to walk through, however.

Il pesce cucina

By Tom C |

Came here for the first time with friends for lunch. It is a smaller version of the Eataly in Vegas. Our server was very friendly and sweet throughout our lunch. We came during the dine LA weekend and each ordered from the prefix menu. In addition we also got the grill calamari and octopus for the table. Calamari- calamari very fresh and tender but there were pieces that were a bit over grill making the taste a bit overpowering compare to the mild flavors of the other ingredients in the dish. Octopus - taste was lovely. A bit tangy, light, and octopus tender and cooked perfectly. Burrata Salad - My favorite of the meal. Between the creamy burrata, crunchy hazelnut and sweet pumpkin the combo made the dish almost dessert like. Definitely a dish I recommend. Clam Linguine - both the clams and pasta was cooked perfectly. Only complaint is that the menu said the dish stated it has chopped razor clams, which is one of my favorite. But unfortunately, it's chopped so finely (most likely it's from a can and not fresh) you can't really taste it. But in honesty the dish doesn't really need it. The clams and linguine are the stars.

The only thing notable was the high price

By Fearless54360022613 |

All of the dishes were pasta based with toppings like mushrooms or eggplant. I got the Rigatoni Al Norma. For $25 I got a bowl of rigatoni with a small handful of chopped “fried” (sautéed) eggplant. Not only was the amount of eggplant insulting at the price, but it was tasteless. All the other dishes looked as paltry as mine. The specialty is spaghetti with pepper. Much ado was made over a bowl of plain looking pasta..I peered closely to locate some pepper and you had to ask for Parmesan..Anyway, I will never go anywhere near an Eately again after the food and prices

Italian Dining Expierience

By Anthony G |

Extremely different and enjoyable experience of dining. Numerous sections to order different types of foods of one's choosing. Pizza, Pasta, Salads, etc. Sit down and menu order from several restaurants within the main area of this type of marketplace and restaurant. Numerous areas to buy to take home and many imported food and drink items as well. Excellent service as well. Costs are on the higher side but well worth the quality and selection and choices and selections.

Worst Service

By Orazio Di Pietro |

My wife, baby and I have stopped by for a quick bite, we decided to get the Pizza alla Pala, the server (woman latino american) wasn’t the most good in terms of courtesy, i was looking for napkins and has to ask three times, she was hiding it from customers. Certainly not a service that you would expect, I suggest the management to revise the hiring process and put on the front end people that are happy to do their job in a professional manner in order to deliver and exceptional customer service hence an high rate of satisfaction.

Fun place to shop and eat

By Vicki K |

This dinner was a girlfriend getaway dinner for old friends - we started with the calamari fritti and each chose a different dish (calzone, lasagna, pasta with zucchini sauce) that we tasted all around; wine, conversation and laughter completed a fun evening.

Explore before you eat

By Gary |

There are so many options at Eataly. And, I imagine the reviews here are based on whether you are shopping in the various markets or dining at one of the 3 restaurants located within the Eataly complex. My review is based on dining at Il Pesce Cucina. My friend and I enjoyed the cocktails (the Campari and soda was classic, the Negroni seemed to be weak on the gin) and the wine (although $14 per glass is a bit steep). When it came to ordering fish dishes, we couldn't seem to find anything that really met our fancy. So we opted to split a half dozen oysters. They were delicious. We then split an octopus salad. I would not recommend splitting this salad unless you are going to order an entree to follow it. Having enjoyed octopus in Greece and Croatia, I found the octopus at Eataly to be a bit on the chewy side. My friend and I couldn't agree on the available fish entrees, so we opted to ask for the check and migrate to another restaurant in the mall. Wandering through the various markets (cheeses, wines, meat department, sweets, fish, etc.) is a great experience. I'd go to Eataly just for that and you're bound to find something you like. It's like shopping in Chelsea, NYC

Disappointing

By Alohaoe808 |

Not impressive, except for the ambiance, view! The menu is small, and since I expected excellent food, it was disappointing. We had the bolognese, so average! The noodles should be al dente and slightly chewy, not over cooked, the burrata was ok, but was lacking bread to eat with it and for an Italian restaurant, this was the lamest, tasteless, cold bread ever. Lastly, we got the skewers and they were so average. I won’t be back to the restaurant, however the concept of Eataly itself, the market, wine section, meats, cheeses, snacks is exceptional! NYC Eataly had much better food!!!!!!!

Il Pesce Cucina

By Richard S |

One of the best seafood meals I've ever had. Everything was sooo tasty!! Sat at the counter in front of the chefs and next to one of the stations where the food is set to be brought to everyone and thought this might not be so great, boy was I wrong. Anna who works at that station helping to deliver the orders was so helpful and informative about the restaurant itself, the fresh food offered, the staff and the history of Eataly itself. Didn't realize just how large this food corporation was. Sitting where we did offered us the opportunity to see almost all the items on the menu as it was being brought to the patrons and everything looked soooo good. We ordered the Black Bass Sashimi, the Calamari Fritti and the Mussels. Now I've had all of these foods many many times before and I got to tell you this was the best I've ever tasted. Can't wait to go back here. By the way, not only is Anna very attractive outgoing and positive, but a great asset to Il Pesce Cucina, she's a great representative of the company. If I owned a business I'd hire her in an instant to represent my company.

Skip the food tour

By Thelma C |

The online description for the $35 food tour is as follows, “Taste sweet and savory bites throughout the market, such as fresh mozzarella, house-made bread, Roman pizza, cured meats and cheeses, wine, pastries, caffè crema, and more.” Our 2/16 tour did not include wine, pizza, or pastries. Everything we tasted was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful, but the $70 I spent for the tour for my daughter and I could have bought a feast of delights, skip the tour and buy your own food. This tour must be a money maker for the store given the small tastes and few samples, I expected more from this tour and this store.

A Taste of Italy in the Heart of Los Angeles

Eataly Los Angeles is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and Italophiles alike. With its delectable offerings, welcoming atmosphere, and dedication to all things Italian, it's no wonder why it's become a beloved culinary hotspot in the city.

Terrible Food and lack of Customer Concerns

By Susan S |

Overrated. Expensive for what you get. For Italian the sauce was bland. Avoid the lobster pasta. They serve it in the half shell where the lobster meat is equal to a size of 1 shrimp. Serving in the shell to make it appear you are getting a lot. Addressed to the server whom did nothing. Most establishments will try to make good for their reputation and potential bad reviews. Sent a note to this establishment regarding this = no response. Not this one. That right there will give you a clue that they are all in for the money and not the customer. What a joke. Will be escalating this to the top management in corporate, perhaps they will be educated on customer service. Try the Eataly areas outside of the dining area, where you can order individual food items and avoid the overpriced dishes and lack of consideration.

Terra on the roof brunch is beyond excellent

By Robin S |

The Bloody Mary Bar was a highlight. The heaters were going on the roof and the skyline was perfect. Great service. I had the avocado toast which was superb and plentiful. My companion had the pork belly and the other had the Eggs benedict which were amazing. I would go back in a second. Oh, the calamari was some of the best I ever had.

Enjoy browsing and snacking a cornucopia of Italian delights

By HBSnowFlower |

This huge, bi-level Italian marketplace stocks every Italian food specialty item you can think of – pesto, peppers, pasta, jams, chocolate, vinegar, wine, cheese as well as fresh produce, homemade mozzarella, fresh fish and meats, a bakery and pastry shop. On the edge of Westfield Century City shopping center, Eataly is a great place to browse and grab a bite while shopping or going to the movies. We each had a pannini – fresh made mozzarella with pesto and tomatoes, and an eggplant carbonata. I loved the crusty fresh-baked organic rustica bread, so I picked up a loaf, homemade chips, and a couple of Chantilly pastries stuffed with strawberry and chocolate cream to bring home. There are several seating areas within the market area, as well as separate bar and dining area for pizzas and pastas. Downstairs is a coffee, pastry, gelato and cannoli counter as well. You could easily get lost browsing and snacking in here for hours.

Second visit - third one will not happen

By JoseLuisContreras |

First visit last year with family for dinner was fine and prompted a return this year. Menu was unchanged and all of us has different orders and in the end it was good but not quite the excellent place as I had remembered. Wine list is limited and prices are steep for what is being served. Service was nice and chatty but hardly personal or efficient. Good pasta. Period.

Excellent lunch in Terra

By Xeuropn |

The three of us had lunch outdoors on a beautiful afternoon. We shared an appetizer and moved on to our light lunch. Food was very well prepared and service was excellent. Afterwards we shopped a little in the market place. Overall it was a very nice experience.

Excellent Italian market and restaurant.

By StevenBerlin |

This is a wonderful Italian market with 3 restaurants and several specialty items located within the Westfield Century City mall. They have 3 floors with an entire Italian market including a cheese shop, bakery, butcher shop, and so many other places to buy products to go or eat there. They have 2 restaurants on the second floor which have lots of pasta and pizza dishes. We gave eaten twice at LA Pizza & La Pasta. They have really good pizza with mostly Italian types of meats and veggies. It's not your typical pizza place but the pizzas were excellent. On the top floor the have Terra, which is kind of a high end, expensive, restaurant that has specialty items. They have a large bar and a great view from the outside seating area. I have to say, coming to Eataly is an experience and totally worth browsing the market and eating lunch.

Delicious and interesting

By kajsa234 |

An Italian market that must been seen. Many Italian sorts of food, kitchen utilities etc. There is also a small lunch restaurant, with exceptionally good pizza. Very nice staff.

Great place to get anything Italian

By Gary P |

Great place to get any Italian item you need they have everything Great place to eat as well they have 3 restaurants as well as gelato, coffee, and pizza We ate at the pasta and pizza place. My wife had the butternut ravioli excellent I had a Tonno salad super flavorful

Mid-Level Dining

By Anthony G |

A different type of dining experience and many different and varied items to order from different kiosks within the restaurant as well as ordering from a menu at the table. An extensive amount of offerings of wines, and groceries and specialty items from Italy as well. Food is good and well prepared and flavorful. A bit higher priced than comparable restaurants. All in all an enjoyable dining experience.

Great fast food

By Paula S |

Stopped in Eataly while visiting the Westfield Century City Mall. I love this mall and Eataly is a nice addition. I’ve eaten at the one in Las Vegas before so I knew it was going to be good. We had lunch st Pizza Alla Pala. It’s ready made pizza that you pick out at the counter. They heat it before serving. I had the TriColor. It was a beautiful fresh bread crust with prosciutto, arugula, Motz, and cherry tomatoes. Served room temp. It was delicious! My husband ordered the Margerita pizza. It was average. Needed more basil and cheese. The slices are decent size. Service fast and pleasant. My husband also got a soda and it was not ice cold and they had no ice machine :( Definitely eat here again.

Far from Chicago and New York and not just in distance

By Ademius H |

For someone new to the Eataly establishments, LA's would probably be an exciting grocery store with an interesting concept in dining. However, after having explored the other locations, LA falls short I would consider it the little sibling. But even without knowing what Eataly is like in its other locations, a closer look at the variety and quality of foods disappoints given the size of the store and the name behind it. And if you think you will find wine jewels there, do not waste your time and head over to your local Total Wine (I am not associated in any way with either establishment) - where you will find a much better variety, quality and better prices. If you happen to buy a bottle at Eataly to consume at one of its restaurants, you will still have to pay corkage fee of $30.00. If you buy a bottle at Cucina Enoteca (not associated with them either) your corkage will be minimal and the wine there is of much better quality. Our dinner at Il Pesce Cucina was average. Good quality ingredients, but only a couple of dishes were worth having again, like the grilled octopus and the swordfish livornese style. Customer service was not good. Just to cite a couple of instances, the host was not organized at all and he was seating people out of order; when our server poured our bottle of wine (Rosso di Montalcino, a dissapointment at $90), she spilled it on the outside of the glass and she cleaned it with the back of her hand. I had never seen that, it really surprised me. I am not one that needs the server to be checking on the table every 5 minutes, and I take my time to eat and enjoy, but our server really got lost. Forget about coming around to serve more wine or water. I really expected better from this restaurant. I will not return to eat and doubt I will make the trip to buy any products there either. I think there are better stores and restaurants with better values. It is a nice looking place, but just to browse, get an appetite, and go somewhere else for a truly good place to eat.

Lovely food shop

By Travellover6128 |

If you like high end groceries and in particular cheese, meat bread and pasta. This is the shop for you! All of the above and much more ! Buy snack or food to cook !

fantastic place

By Douglas William M |

not quite as busy as when it first opened, but food just as good. Had the capricioasa (very good price too) and an espresso. have yet to have a sit down dinner as i get distracted on my way to the back

Popular spot

By Sid V |

My colleague booked this restaurant on our business trip to LA as it had seating on a terrace. It's a few floors of different sets of stairs so you may wish to take the elevator. We got there a tad early (5:30pm)as we had an early start the next day and there were just a few people seated at that point. However, within 45 mins the place was packed with a healthy bar scene. Perhaps the prices are typical of LA, but we did find it was quite pricey....glass of wine was $18-25. We shared a crudo for appetizer. I had a steak and my colleague had a pasta dish. The food was good. We decided to skip dessert and had a cappuccino instead. Good service on the whole. The bill with taxes and tip came to about $180 ..pretty expensive but it was a nice experience and I would likely go back.

Pasta and so much more

By Tina R |

Marketplace for really good food and drink. Beautiful selection of gifts. Well worth a visit whilst at this Mall.

Fun NY spot now in LA

By Keffco |

Very happily surprised to see Eataly in Century City section of LA. This is always a fun spot to visit in NY and when we had a business meeting in LA, there it was. Filled with sensory overload of sights and smells with four restaurants serving the fresh made product. We opted for the seafood spot and had Vongole and a Lobster pasta for our mains with a salad to share to start. Make reservation, it is very busy. Before or after enjoy a walk through the market with fresh produce, meats, fish, cheese, desserts..in short a deli on steroids.

It's a Zoo!

By J9hathaway |

I agree with the review by DoctorRetired, the layout and supposed system to be seated is stupid. This restaurant is so disorganized with guests wandering around and no one in sight to assist. The bussing staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. They appear to intimidate both the servers and the guests and create a most unpleasant atmosphere. Food was ok but the overall experience, less than enjoyable. Dine elsewhere, I will.

Overpriced, no authentic Italian cuisine! Just a show!

By Bille987 |

Completely overpriced restaurant that advertises its rooftop bar. Never had such overpriced and bad Italian food!!!

Just doesn’t have the NYC

By Ettore L |

Just doesn’t have the NYC vibe. We did sit and eat pasta and pizza which was very good as expected. I’m thinking the hell I went through to park kinda dampened my enjoyment. We also had gelato downstairs but still feel Grom smacks it down..... hit Grom instead. I will give Eataly 5 stars for how amazed I am on how they pull it off, definitely not an easy thing to do.

wonderful Italian shopping experience, restaurant food OK

By AppMyHome |

We spent a couple of hours exploring Eataly and all of the delicious offerings. We started with a fresh stuffed cannoli that they wrapped for us to eat while we shopped. The cannoli were generous and the service at the bar was outstanding, but we've had better shells. There is so much amazing stuff to see in the store, from spices to glassware to fresh fish, truffles, meats, and of course, wine. It is like visiting a whole mall of Italian delights in a couple of hours. We felt lucky to be able to get a seat at the casual restaurant which had a great selection of pastas and entrees with high prices. Our fresh pasta was good, but the only disappointment was the cacio de pepe - just had too much cream compared to the Roman version. The truffle pasta was amazing, with fresh truffles weighed and shaved at the table. In general Eataly was a fun day out, but in the future we would just shop and eat somewhere else.

This place was amazing

By tomasviska |

Wow!! grocery store, cheese shop, kitchen gadgets, wines, pasta bar, pizza, everything Italian!! A must see for any Italian lover!

Overwhelming, expensive Italian food options

By princeofpinot |

The first time you visit Eataly in Westfield Century City Shopping Center the sheer size and number of food options are overwhelming but amazing. Parking can be a real problem at peak hours. Eataly was packed with diners and shoppers on a recent frenetic Sunday evening. The visitors include locals picking up food for dinner, casual diners eating at the pizza bar or pastry bar, Italians from out of town, shoppers from the nearby mall stores grabbing coffee or gelato, and destination seekers like myself who drove an hour to check it out. One can find anything they desire that is imported to the US from Italy. Rows of shelves with pasta, sauces, olive oils, cookies and biscotti, and an extensive Italian wine cellar. Fresh breads, cheeses, salumi, and panettones everywhere. There is even produce, meat and fish section that is on the high priced side. It helps to be a foodie with a knowledge of Italian foods to hone in on what you want. Prices are at a premium since everything is imported from Italy. Dining options include 3 sit-down restaurants (pizza and pasta, seafood and Italian). Terra is a large, typical Italian restaurant on the third floor that is popular for its view but for me only average in food quality. It is pricey for small portions and lacks the wood-burning flavors that the restaurant advertises. Our group had the Ferro salad with butternut squash ($16, very good), the arugula salad that was 95% arugula with very little grilled pears and toasted nuts that were described on the menu ($17, pedestrian), pappardelle con ragu alla bolognese (a total rip off at $25 for a small portion that has no flavor and will leave you hungry), Vesuvio con maiale ($24 excellent and al dente but again overpriced), Bistecca Coulotte ($30, about 8-ounce strip sirloin that laced wood-burning flavor but rather more like seared in a pan, and served with one green onion), and Pesce Spada ($30, a decent swordfish steak that had nice grill marks but no wood-burning oven flavor). The restaurant does have an excellent wine list and wine service but you have to know Italian wines. I would definitely not drive an hour again to eat at Terra (or would not go again if I lived a block away) but would go again to bring a foodie just to shock them by the size and sheer excess of the place.

Full of Possibilities

By Noelle C |

I came back from Rome full of recipes and new food cravings and Eataly didn't disappoint me or my appetite. I was able to find decent aged prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella. While these were nowhere near as good as what I had in Rome, they hit the spot and I will be back to sample many other goods. I would not recommend the gelato place on the first floor. My experience with gelato in Rome was a smooth, silky, un-emulsified creation of perfection. The stuff here was icy and hard. Also, the sugar cones were tasteless. I would warn against it. Otherwise, a visit to Italy is time well spent.

Fresh pasta and Pizza: Italian Food comes to the USA

By Rosas 06 |

Went shopping at the Century City Mall and had to get a bite. Lets try this new place called Eataly. It was like walking into a supermarket with everything you ever wanted from Italy. Cheese, Olive Oil, Fresh Pasta, Wine the list goes on and on, but we were here to eat. Went to the pasta pizza restaurant. Waited in line for 20 minutes. Well worth the wait. Had the special pizza - Truffle, Prosciutto, Almonds - Amazing tasting pizza. The lasagna - fresh pasta and not overwhelming cheese. Great dish to share and light just as it should be. I will definitely come back.

Fresh Italian food, great drinks

By Aly |

Delicious lunch and drinks! Had a few spritzes, pizza fur and appetizer and of course pasta. They have fun winter ski menu right now, too. Beautiful day on the patio at Capri.

Huge Disapointment

By Mark V |

Dined at the Terrace restaurant on a Saturday evening. View is exceptional from this restaurant -- but that's where the enjoyment ends. Hostess led us to our table and I noted that the seat cushions on my side of the table were stained badly. Our waitress was new and had difficulty in taking our drink orders and appetizer request. We probably made a mistake and ordered pasta versus a grilled meat entre. Two of us ordered the pasta with rustic brisket ragu. The ragu itself was tasty, but the pasta was not salted when cook making the dish very bland to the palette. Another person in our party ordered a cheese ravioli.

Terra restaurant Food is not really any longer Italian

By Mariacristina Heller |

The groceries market is really a nice experience , but the restaurant "Terra" doesn't have an Italian chef, after the opening with the real italian chef, as it always happens in Los Angeles, everybody in the kitchen is Mexican, and of course the food is no longer italian Since I was born and raised in Italy I know exactly what I'm talking about my daughter ordered pasta with clams , and she got delivered pasta with 3 I literally mean n: 3 clams in the dish, this is unacceptable my husband ordered vodka on the rocks and the waiter for mistake walked by and filled up his glass adding water to it they've replaced the glass, and a second waiter filled it up for mistake with water over again this gives you an idea of how unprofessional the waiters are

Amazing restraunt

This was an amazing restraunt the food was amazing, the staff were so respectful and kind. Definitely recommend to foodies and normal people alike.

Something Italian for everyone

By qwuirk |

I’ve been to Eataly in LA, Vegas, and Chicago but the LA location will always have a special place in my heart. This Eataly is an expansive Italian specialty market, separated into sections by dessert, coffee, cheese, dining area, wine selection, and fresh market. Highly recommend checking out La Pizza and La Pasta. My favorite pasta dish is the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. My hubby likes the Margherita "a Ruota di Carro”, which is a solid choice if you’re in the mood to share a pizza. Don’t skip the cannolis at Eataly. They are exceptional, and you can’t go wrong with the original. The shell is crispy and the filling is nice and creamy. The LA location is solid but I personally vote for the Chicago one as the best.

Solid

By Dayter |

Eataly was delicious as always. We ate at Capri and the food was fantastic across the board. The only disappointment was the tartare — it really should have come with a cracker or cucumber for balance, and overall it lacked some flavor. That said, everything else was excellent, and it remains a reliably good spot for a great meal.

Intertesting place. Fun, lots of choices, and authentic Italian goods.

By traveloften028 |

This place is an immense Italian grocery store that happens to have a bar, bakery, coffee bistro as well as full service restaurants. They have an onsite fishmonger, onsite butcher, and make their own pasta as well. In addition to a load of genuine Italian groceries, the place is fascinating. Walk around and shop with a glass of wine in your hand and experience Italy in LA.

Pricey But Worth It

By DrForgot |

Backstory: A relative sent me a book about Lidia, a chef on PBS, but she assured me it was not a cookbook, The book was instead a memoir, her life story, and I immediately fell in love. When I discovered she had opened a 67,000 square eatery in LA, I HAD to visit. We took a morning flight and Uber to the Century City location. It was beyond fabulous. From casual to formal dining topped (literally) with a rooftop restaurant, the half dozen or so eateries, huge wind selection, fresh beef, fish, baked goods, cooking classes,.. it was food sensory overload. It would take weeks to explore it all. This is a must see (end eat) operation. I can't wait until she opens one in my hometown of Las Vegas next year. Flew home that evening, full, happy, and exhausted. Lunch for two with wine and tip exceeded $100.

like home

By 11SaRaVa11 |

it's exactly the same as the one in Rome or Genova, same products more or less except missing the regional selection...so no diamond burgers and a much smaller selection of cheeses and cured meats. A part from that the taste of the food, even the one prepared in loco, is practically perfect. Lucky it's 3mins from home so our must go to spot when inviting friends over for typical italian meal.

Gone down the tubes-needs new management

By Diana R |

Our family lives close by and so we have taken our family to lunch there each time we visit and also pick up Italian snacks to take home with us. We also end our lunch with some gelato. This past month we did our family lunch there and it will be the last. The food quality has gotten so bad. We ordered the ravioli with marjoram. The ravioli was hard pasta and I don’t mean Al dente! Almost no filling and full of oregano and not marjoram. We know good Italian food and this was awful. The gelato has become a joke served in ice cream tubs and NOT gelato. All that we ordered was shameful and just some bad corporate food. The Italian owners need to eat there and see what it has become. Fa schifo

Very good but poor bread selection

By MelWacks |

Food and service were excellent. But all they served was brown bread. This was strange, since below the restaurant was a market and casual restaurants run by the same company--where they had wonderful breads. I know because I ate there previously. Also, they did not validate for parking in the mall. I spent over $300 and no validation. On the other hand, there is a Gelson's Market in the same mall (Century City) that validates for a $5 purchase.

Best options and layout to really enjoy the store

By Eva |

I’ve been to a hand full of Eataly locations and by far, was the most impressed by this one. It’s over 2 floors, and the top floor, is very well laid out and has a huge amount of products and multi faceted offerings. Truly wonderful. I’m bummed I couldn’t get more things as my luggage wouldn’t have supported it. Sigh. You could literally spend more than an hour browsing and shopping.

Decent Pizza

By Mark L |

We stopped for a pizza in Eataly which is part of the Westfield shopping mall. The pizza was good and better than you would get in most mall food courts. It was busy but service was good and efficient.

A dream..the right cheese, oils n breads

Had lunch of the most delicious pizza...brought home all the fixings for valentines dinner For 4...prepared pasta and all..have had dinner here before and if we prepare This right should be a real treat...you’ll love exploring this place...a 10

Great place for a quick bite

By StationToStation |

This is a multi level group of food vendors and specialty food sellers (everything from fruits and vegetables and wine to specialty foods and desserts). The quality is great and the prices are reasonable. It reminds me of an upscale version of what you can do that The Farmers Market in LA.

Great food. Poor customer

By Lori S |

Great food. Poor customer service. We stopped by for pasta and clams after an afternoon movie, about 4:45. Eataly was empty, but all public tables and counters dirty and all employees ignored us. While waiting for the cucina to open we decided to have a drink at the pop up wine bar. Again, counter littered with dirty dishes, and the bar staff seemed put out that we sat down and had to clean up and wait on us. We decided to take our business to Frito Misto in Santa Monica, an excellent Italian trattoria that knows how to keep their customers coming back.

A true taste of Italy

By Sandy C |

We visited Eataly in New York and finally made the trek from Orange County to Santa Monica to visit this unique venue with a market, shops and restaurants all with Italian products and food. We had a wonderful dinner of delicious pasta and pizza. The service was excellent making it an enjoyable experience despite how busy it was all around us. We browsed through the shops and ended the evening with gelato and coffees on the lower level. Hoping they will open Eataly at South Coast Plaza or Fashion Island in Newport Beach!

Ciao Capri @Eataly!

By singingbackup |

Took a chance that we could get a table without reservations at Eataly and lucked out with a high-top table for two out on the patio for my birthday. Start to finish the staff was so friendly and attentive, so much so that they comped our Americanos and a fantastic Limoncello Tiramisu. We were looking for an uncomplicated light meal and were delighted with our entrees of Ravioli and Gnocchi. Very rustic, simple and flavorful. The ambience was delightful and overall, it was a great night out. Special thanks to our server Cassandra who was always right there when we needed something and Parker the host/manager (?) who checked on us frequently and was very insightful and knowledgeable regarding all things Eataly! Will be back!

Great energy and fabulous food

By Robin S |

This place have everything Italian and so much fresh food available in the market. We chose to sit down and enjoy a late lunch. The bread was perfect with oil and requested fresh Parmesan cheese. The recommended red bottle of wine a great accompaniment to our pasta and pizza. My arugula salad was crisp with just the right amount of dressing and loads of cheese. My vegan friend had an eggplant pasta dish, we had two pasta dishes which were amazing. The pasta done to perfection. Our pizza with ham was excellent. I love the high energy of this place and the superb service.

Horrible Ragu

By Mario S |

Amazing view! I had lunch there yesterday. The appetizer, mozarella ( they claim was burrata but it absolutely wasn’t) and grilled peach was god and interesting. Then I had ragu for main course. Lord have mercy! What ragu? It was pasta with chunks of pork sausage. Disgusting! You serve this in Italy nobody would come to your restaurant. It was an insult to pasta ragu. And by the way in Italy you will never ever find ragu made with pork. What a shame. If it wasn’t for the amazing view, the good appetizer and good service I wouldn’t give this restaurant 1 single star. If you read this review please do something about that joke and insult of the ragu that you have! That’s not ragu. That’s sausage with pasta.

Eataly: A Fun Place with Lots of Great Italian Food!

By Parviz M |

We went there a few weeks after they opened the place and it was such a fun place to visit. It is a fun place to visit and walk through all the shops and food markets and taste great food and drinks of Italy. You can spend hours in Eataly and have a quick bite of a delicious pizza or pasta and also have a yummy Italian gelato. If you have more time you can sit down in a nice restaurant and enjoy great Italian pizza, pasta and wine. We had a few slices of delicious Roman Style Pizza at Pizza Alla Pala and it was super delicious. They have pizzas with a variety of toppings and they are all good. You can also watch as they make it for you. After that we had Italian Gelato at Il Gelato, a real pleasure. Highly recommend the place and will go there again when in LA. Please note that, Eataly is located in the Century City Mall and parking is not cheap, so be aware of parking time and fees.

Impressive

By mikesesq |

Had dinner with friends at Terra on the top floor of this sprawling edifice of everything Italian. Expected it to be somewhat touristy, but was amazed at the quality of the food. This was unquestionably one of my best Italian food experiences ever. Flavorful, perfectly prepared pasta dishes and an incredible prime wet aged steak. My highest recommendation!

A little Italy in a mall

By Kristos T |

Finally had a chance visiting this place after a long renovation that beautified the Westfield mall significantly. Also get ready to get lost as the mall has become kind of a maze Now Eataly is like it’s siblings all over the world pretty much the same concept. I compare to the one in São Paulo. All you need to play Italian chef you can find here in its integrated shop. And I mean really everything . As for the restaurant we only got a chance to experience the pizza section as the “real” restaurant wasn’t open yet. So we had some pasta with shrimp and one vegetarian, both very good , basic solid taste. Pasta came out al dente ( as it should) and the other small dishes were equally good. Now don’t expect any high cuisine here, but if your stomach craves something substantial between shopping or visiting AMC movies this is definitely a good choice. The prices I found a little too high for what it was but then again this is LA and the quality is justified. Westfield boast meanwhile a whole array of restaurants so there’s more to explore For now Eataly is a welcome and well executed edition to this part of town

Three restaurants in a food museum

By CaTraveler7777 |

We parked near the entry to the parking garage, but it was way in the other side of the Westfield mall. Call them before you go to get directions to the area of the parking garage close to them. There weren’t many people in the stores as we walked the length of the mall. It was a Thursday evening around 7pm and we thought we would drop by for a meal at Eataly. The grill restaurant on the roof looked like the most interesting because it is one of the few places with a view in LA. However, it was booked for a private party. The fish restaurant was packed and we didn’t want to wait an hour to be served. Even people who were seated weren’t be served, so it looked like they were understaffed, at least for that evening. The third restaurant is a food court with pastas and pizzas, and we weren’t interested in that. It’s all situated in the world’s most expensive Italian grocery store. They were selling a single serving of yogurt for $8 a pop. You could also buy filled chocolates at $48.50/lb. We bought some striped bass at $30/lb and cooked it at home (it was excellent). But very few people were buying anything in the grocery store. The grocery seems like a great idea for the experience. You’re not eating in just a restaurant, you’re being transported to a fantasy of Italy. In any case, we bought a couple of gelatos for the road on the first floor and walked back to the car.

Captures chaos of a Italian village market

By Cavydad |

Eataly captures the chaos of a Italian village market. It has the fish monger and the butcher. Baker, pizza maker and pastry shop are close by. Cheese shop is awesome. All is surrounding a restaurant with good pizza and pasta. Not the best Italian food, but it’s well prepared and service is attentive. Others quibble about the prices. Yes, they are higher than the Olive Garden. But the quality is greater. We refer to Eataly as having Disneyland prices, you are partly paying for the marketplace setting. Yes it is in a shopping mall. So what. Wine selection was an adventure if you enjoy wine. I do and Had a good time exploring the selection of wines. Shopping after dinner was fun. We purchased focaccia for the next day. Very tasty. Cheese was fun to select at the cheese counter. Gnocchis were available, filled with cheese and mushrooms, yum. Prices are higher than Trader Joe’s. But Eataly was a food and dining destination.
