New place, very interesting menu (not comparable to other "egg" places), offers great variety. For coffee lovers like me, the good news is, they have a nice coffee selection. Food is healthy and there are tonnes of options in every category. I think they may be understaffed, though. They may need to scale up to the demand. The wait time is about 15-20 minutes. You may need to wait for food longer.

Love the ambiance of this restaurant! Food was really good and our server was very kind. I think that the kitchen is too small for the size of the restaurant because they couldn't keep up. Food took so long. I was warned about that though before I went.

Wish I could show a picture but we devoured it! Fruit was ripe and sweet! Will come back before 11 AM next time. They are super busy on the weekends

over cooked eggs and rotten fruit when back and got a refund then drove down the street to Jim's dinner

Gave it a second chance after a less than stellar performance a few months ago. Met a few people here for a breakfast meeting. The food was good not to die for but good. I enjoyed the eggs benedict and fruit. Others had veggie omelet and said it was good. However to my liking the omelet was overcooked. I don’t like any brown spots on my egg. I like the coffee not too strong. I’ll go here again due to neat and clean place.

Each time I went the waiters recommendations were spot on and food came out fast. Go early as it does get packed around 1000

10:30 on a Thursday. We were seated quickly at a booth in the back of the building. It was dirty, so we moved to another booth, which was also dirty. We were then moved to a table in the front of the restaurant. Really two small tables pushed together, with the surface uneven between the two. I noticed that all of the seating around us was of a similar manner. It was noisy. No menu's, just a bar code to scan with a phone camera affixed to the corner of the table. The menu presented had no prices. Our server was the only good thing about our visit. I ordered the steak and eggs, my wife an omelet and lionized potatoes. My steak was similar to a Waffle House steak, and my eggs were sorely undercooked. My wife's potatoes had no grilled onions, and when she questioned this, she was brought a small bowl of limp grilled onions. The bill total was outrageous for the level of food we were served. We will not be back

Went at the lunch hour. Per usual, the hostess tried to place us at the worst table in the house = right at the door, along the aisle. Wait staff was very casual. The staff that brought the entrée to our table could not tell us anything about the food we ordered, or what it was. Pleasant folks but clearly not experienced staff yet, at this relatively new eatery.

No need for a lot of hype for this review. This is my second visit here for brunch and the food here is just plain good! I had the eggsuberant coupled with the Irish Coffee. Both items were very good. The eggsuberant satisfied my craving for some breakfast food and the Irish coffee was made perfectly. Eggspectation has quickly become one of my family's "go-to" restaurants for brunch and dinner.

Nice Place ! Change of food presentation and menu I had lobster Benedict ...Very good ! could have been a little bigger portion

Stopped in for drinks as they were advertising happy hour. Nice bar with a good selection of draft beer and drinks. We visited Saturday late afternoon and happy hour is only during the week. Read their food menu and great selection of different food offerings revolving around eggs. They have a cool deck in the back if you are wanting to be in the summer heat.

Ok my son came up with the title. Our family decided to stop in for a late breakfast/early lunch. We quickly learned that parking here can be an issue because this is a real popular place. We entered and our party of four was quickly seated. Father ordered a bloody mary and said it was better than the one he makes. We placed our order and only had a small wait for it to arrive. During the time the waiter came back several times to ensure our drinks were replenished. Meals arrived and they were delicious. We will definitely be coming back.

My date has been wanting to come here so we tried it out. What a great spot for a first or in our case second date!! The vibe is awesome and laid back. I had an omelette that was big and had fried potatoes and cantaloupe on the side. Then added a bacon bloody mary!! My date had a mimosa with tacos!! They were filled to the brim with fillings. I could spend a day there just talking and having a good time.

The food here is incredible, however, the service definitely can be much much better. The atmosphere is wonderful and family friendly. It menu offers enough that my kids actually ate here (super picky eaters). The pricing is definitely on the high side, kids milk per cup is no more than 6 oz and charges $3.25 without free refills. Service took 15 mins to order drinks, 15 mins to place order, 25 mins to receive our food. So if you go there make sure you have the patience & have the time to wait. Food definitely was outstanding though. Wish service and pricing was as good as the food..

Walking into this place feels good. The trendy decor leads to a fabulous atmosphere. And that's the best part of the Eggperience. The pancakes came out cool and tasted like they could have been gone from the freezer to the microwave to my plate. The cream for my coffee was the fast food type of little plastic containers that don't need to be refrigerated. In fact the food was fast food tasting but the bill was fine dining sized.

Have been several times and love everything! Staff, service and food is superb! Loved the scene so much I decided to have a small birthday gathering there and the staff was so accommodating for everything! All my guests lived the food and ambiance as well! Highly recommend. I have never been on a weekend but that's when I here they get super busy.

Our first time here was beyond our eggspectations. From the friendly staff greeting us to our awesome waiter the entire experience was relaxed, friendly and fun. The food can’t be beat. And even though they were busy it came out quickly and exactly as ordered. Definitely going back!

Went for breakfast but will go back to try both lunch and dinner. The breakfast selection was wide-ranging and the dishes hearty (as in, you could/should probably share). Loved the little evidences of its Canadian heritage - delicious crepes, poutine, fluffy pancakes, Canadian-style corned beef. Our dishes were beautifully presented and perfectly spiced - no need to add salt, pepper or hot sauce. Our waitress was pleasantly sensitive to our requests and our kitchen server even put the plates down in the correct manner (eggs to the front, not to the back). Loved the slightly edgy atmosphere. We came for breakfast/brunch but would definitely come back for lunch, dinner and happy hour because the menu had so many interesting dishes offered. Besides breakfast, they offer salads, sandwiches, burgers and fish/steak/chicken/pork dinner entrees. And if that isn't enough, they have a great bar which opens on to a lovely back porch where there are shaded tables. There are a couple of places where there is room for improvement - the coffee was weak/tasteless, the kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed when the place is packed (it took a while for us, and others, to get our orders) and the parking lot can be close to full when the restaurant is busy. Overall, I would recommend this place to others seeking a fun restaurant with very good food when they are on the north side of San Antonio.

Location is easy in and out, plenty of parking. Waited around 45 min. The menu has some great options. Plates are huge. Really good food. Waitress was really sweet.

Great for brunch and dinner if you are not in a rush. Pasta, omlets, steaks are great. Service is a little slow but food worth the wait.

We arrived here Saturday around 830am and were seated immediately. Upon our departure close to 10am, there were probably two dozen people waiting. Tables are very close to each other and the building's industrial finishes and décor makes this a very loud environment, so if you aren't totally awake when you arrive, the loudness will certainly awaken you! Lots of unique breakfast choices. I selected the Eggspectation Bagel Breakfast Sandwich which was served with a side of fried potatoes (real sliced potatoes with sautéed onions) which were very good, shaming the tiny bagel sandwich. The menu stated the bagel was a Montreal style wood-fired oven bagel which had a much lighter consistency than any other bagel I've eaten. Fried egg topped with smoked ham, lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, and red onion. A 4 bite sandwich for $11.95. Hubby ordered the Strawberry ‘n Salted Caramel Waffles (minus the Strawberries) which was a Belgium waffle with salted maple caramel sauce drizzled on the plate (guess they couldn't hit the waffle) ($10.95). Hubby claimed he would return and order it again! This restaurant has a full bar and a lovely patio (in the rear under the oak trees). Despite its name, its not just for breakfast. Eggspectation is open until 9pm, with a full dinner menu.

I could eat breakfast food all day, and now I can! This is an upscale spot with prices to match (most items are $14 and up), but our food was excellent. I got smoked salmon Benedict with fruit and a pot of English breakfast tea; my husband got eggs, sausage, potatoes and French toast. The eggs were perfectly poached and the fruit - blackberries, mango and strawberries - was fresh and delicious. The French toast was made with brioche and served with real maple syrup. It was the lightest, fluffier French toast I've ever tasted. Our bill for 2 was $51, but worth it for a holiday breakfast out. They don't have their liquor license yet, but when they do they'll have mimosas, boozy coffee, etc.My only negative comment has to do with the noise level. It has a decor with lots of hard surfaces, and the blaring Top 40 soundtrack was a bit much at 8 am.

Came here with family for "brunch" My brother had used the yelp app to book a reservation for us. When we arrived it said 6 people ahead of us. 1 hour later and many, many groups coming in and being seated, it moved to 5 people. Watching the seater, I noticed him playing with his pad then proceeding to seat. Didn't take long to see the pattern. Like other bad training, he was moving larger groups to the "front of the line" to be seated before other people. Finally, we got up and complained to him about the wait and how we didn't seem to be moving up on the list. 'Miraculous' we got seated 2 minutes later............Next was the waiting for our food. 45 minutes for pancakes, sausages. There is no reason for such a long wait for such easy food. Seriously more than 2 hours total. I told my brother, next time, let me pick the restaurant. We will get better food, faster service at some other places close by. Last time I will eat here and you shouldn't either!

We went here for a post graduation brunch this week. The place was fairly busy at 10:30 on a Thursday. Service was very slow. I ordered the Montreal Benny (Benedict). It was prepared very well. The potatoes were okay. The heavenly crepe - ordered by someone else at the table was very dry and not appetizing. One other dish was sent back as not satisfactory. We won’t return.

Reasonable prices and great food, we went in the middle of the afternoon, pretty busy, fast service, I had a pasta dish with chicken and shrimp, my wife had a great salad

Stopped in for dinner, the food was awesome, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was awesome! I had the blue steak sandwich, best steak sandwich I have had in a while.

Enjoyable environment, a bit pricy but great service. I started off with the macchiato espresso, which was a bit disappointing upon arrival with a half filled cup, (the cups are already small!!!). My entree, shrimp & grits, definitely made up for the lack of coffee. Excellent portion, seasoned to perfection.

We enjoyed a great after-church brunch at Eggspectation. Expect a 30-45 minute wait, but the experience is worth it. The menu is extensive and the food is delicious. Service is good, especially considering how busy they are. They have a large gluten free offering ... everything except their crepes can be prepared gluten free. I had a BBQ burger with sweet potato fries ... very tasty. My wife went for an omelette which she raved about. They also have a full bar and the Bloody Mary’s are very good.

Poor Service, extremely loud, couldn’t carry on a conversation with family at same table. Unappetizing poorly prepared food. Tables and chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Printing on the menu was so small it couldn’t be read. DidI mention over priced. It was! I can’t find one good reason to return!!!

This is a wonderful place, the food is wonderful too! We have a good time yesterday! The music was good! The dinner was excellent!

My husband and I recently visited Eggspectation. We were seated promply and our server was pleasant and proficient. We ordered milk, orange juice, coffee, The All American and The Eggspectation Omelet. The juice was delicious. The highlight of both meals was the potatoes, which are perfectly seasoned. The only item which we did not enjoy was the ham on The All American. The atmosphere is bright and the restaurant including the restrooms were clean. I would recommend stopping here for breakfast.

My husband and I had been excited to try this place for a while and we were so disappointed when we tried it. The service was bad, our server, David paid no attention to us and seemed so be kind of annoyed with everything. The dish he recommended (Breakfast Poulin) was very bland and so bad I sent it back. My husband ordered the Ruben sandwich which was ok and our friend ordered the chicken and waffles which was way overpriced. 2 skimpy pieces of chicken on a dry waffle is not impressive. The best part of our visit was the manager who came out to talk about our dislikes. He seemed nice and took a genuine interest in why our visit was bad. Despite the nice manager, we will not be returning and I do not recommend to anyone looking for a good brunch.

This was a nice little surprise. I expected it to be like another Perkins, IHOP, or Denny's. Instead it was a trendy restaurant with great breakfast options. And plenty of gluten free. They paid special attention to making sure our order was GF and it was obvious that they were knowledgeable. The staff were also super friendly and very quick to serve.

What to say? Average food at best, mediocre service, ample parking, good location. The restaurant is brand new and quite lovely. The acoustics and extreme seating density is a killer. Impossible to have a conversation without yelling. Miserable dining experience by any measure. We were there at 10:45 on a Friday morning. Very overpriced food, even if it had been exceptionally good. There are ample better breakfast options in the immediate area.

We went for Breakfast super good food. We enjoyed the atmosphere...We will be coming again and again. I usually eat there 1 a week...Services is so great!!!

The food is great and has a uniqueness too. They have a good selection of alcoholic beverages they mix up at their bar, even spiked morning drinks. It's a nice, casual place with a great atmosphere and a trendy, modern vibe.

Negativity first -- toooooo cold & music toooo loud. Great server & food Lobster mac&cheese & strawberry waffles to start 2 burgers, crepe, waffle sandwich, & gluten free pasta

Went here for breakfast one Sunday morning. Service was excellent, food was excellent, ambiance and atmosphere was excellent. Breakfast menu mostly throughout the day but other options are also available. They also have a bar area. I was impressed. Overall a great casual eat out.

I decided not to rate this resturant after my 1st visit but had to have a second visit to see if what I observed the first time was correct. It was! Although many may use it at other times I find it a great after Church brunch location. I will take me more time to work my way through the menu but I can say that the salmon eggs benedict is fabulous and the hollandaise sauce is made perfectly in contrast to that served in many other resturants. While it is usually verg crowded and wait is not long at all. Service is quick and attentive.

I have been to Eggspectation once before and enjoyed the food and service. So, I decided to treat my mom and daughter to what I thought would be a nice brunch, but it ended up to be a very disappointing visit. I was truly embarrassed with my family and rushed out of there before I became more upset with staff. We arrived at 11:40 am and waited 24 mins. on a table for 3. I purchased 2 coffees from the bar to make our wait more tolerable. Once we were sat at our table, Marco took our drink order. He came back with my daughter’s drink and told us he’d be right back to take our food order. After 10 mins., I had to flag him over to tell him we were ready to order. We didn’t see him for another 13 mins. after that. I had to call for him to re-fill our drinks and he didn’t bring us straws for soda and waters, creamer/sugar for our coffee so I got up and get it from the bar staff. People arriving after us were getting served with their food. We called for him to ask for the status of our order, he went to check and came back telling us it would be a few minutes. We waited 7 mins more as still no food, I told him we were leaving. I did talk to manager and shared this information with her. She told me she would check on our food order but I told her I didn’t want to wait any longer and the food was probably sitting there all this time, cold or not ordered at all. I had to leave before I became more upset. I know they are busy and perhaps the restaurant was under staffed that day but I still don’t understand how everyone else was eating while we had to wait over 30 mins. We left the restaurant around 12:50 p.m., hungry and upset because we drove from the Southside of town and traveled 20 mins to get there. I am very disappointed with your establishment, and did not feel resolution with your manager. I think one of the first things a manager should say is, I apologize for your experience. Please give me an opportunity it make it better… and help make it better!!!!! I was not given that. Instead I left, upset and leaving with a bad taste in my mouth.

My family and I can in for brunch on our way to an event and we were not disappointed at all. We were sat quite quickly and met within moments of sitting down. Orange juice was okay, but the grapefruit juice was amazing. My daughter said the chocolate milk was perfect. My kids both ordered pancakes and they were good, though nothing mind-blowing. My wife and I ordered the S'mores French toast and the the Classic Bennies to split. The Classic Bennies were in my opinion the best example of just simple classic eggs benedict. Flavors were wonderful and blended together perfectly. I still think about those bennies. The s'mores French toast was polar opposite in that they were a sweet counterpoint to the savory bennies, and they were a very unusual iteration of French toast. However, just like the bennies, the dish was well thought out and well executed. The smoky marshmallow flavor blended perfectly with the rich deep flavor of the nutella and just melted in our mouths. We are planning another trip to San Antonio just so we can order these dishes again!

First impression, was that the restaurant had a very nice eclectic, Industrial look to it. We had a café Americano, cappuccino, Montreal Benny, Eggspectations omelette, and French toast. Both of the main plates had a side of Lynnaise potatoes, which were excellent. The Montreal Benny had a very similar taste to eating a Reuben with a perfectly cooked poached egg on top. The eggspectations omelette was absolutely delicious and the French toast was made with brioche bread and on point. Our overall experience was good, it was very busy, loud, and the service was a little slow.

I've been here twice and the food has been excellent each time. It is now my favorite breakfast destination. They are open for lunch and dinner too. The ingredients are fresh and many are organic. Wait time was 30 minutes, but worth the wait.

I've eaten here for breakfast which was excellent. Good variety, large waffles and pancakes with fruit and lots of egg dishes. Don't miss the thick applewood smoked bacon! Lunch was good the first time. Smoked salmon crostini is delicious. Salad fresh and filling. Wanting to try some other things, we visited again for a late lunch. I really don't know what has happened to customer service. The young male host proceeded to seat us at the first table on the isle and I asked politely to be seated elsewhere. He heavy sighed, rolling his eyes, and seated us by the window. Not a good first impression. Then, the server didn't know the menu items. I had to return the dish I'd asked questions about once it arrived and order something else. I could tell the server wasn't having a good day and tried to be very nice. My friend ordered the Nicoise salad served with Ahi tuna and it arrived without 2 ingredients that were stated in the menu. (I had ordered the same salad to replace the soup I'd returned and was waiting for it.) When my friend asked the server about the missing ingredients on the seared tuna salad she'd received, the server became defensive and argued with her and me about the item I'd ordered and returned! I immediately asked for her manager who was very apologetic, and comped our meals and we left very disappointed. I hadn't received my salad yet. I would like this place to succeed and will definitely go back for breakfast. I love the decor. They have a full bar and patio - which we haven't tried. It's very open so it's a bit loud. My friend and I both have young adult children who have been servers and know that it can be a difficult job so we are always kind and tip well. Hopefully, the management can encourage the staff to better service.

Went because they boasted their pancakes, french toast, waffles... pure maple syrup (yay), and I was dying for some pancakes and wont eat the corn syrup most places serve. Huge disappointment. First of all, the very basics. They served my pancakes crowded on the same plate with potatoes, eggs, and bacon. Any place that doesn't do the basic service of serving the syrup items on a separate plate is a complete miss. I know there's some people who want their syrup all over their eggs and other things, but not most. My goodness. So, I ate all my other food items, everything except what I wanted most, my pancakes, so that there wouldn't be syrup on everything else. By the time I got to my pancakes, they were cold. Not only that, but there was no butter provided, and the pancakes were the worst I've had of any place in the San Antonio - New Braunfels region. So dry it was trash. So my breakfast was a total failure. And that's not all, let's talk venue. The A/C vents were spread over the tables blowing strongly down on the tables, frigid air. We were rubbing our arms, and our food had no chance of staying hot (or warm) after being served. Design failure. The place had the worst accoustics of any place I can recall in a long time. My party was shouting at each other to be heard. I suppose that may seem trendy, but for a breakfast place? It sure was packed, but I'll never be back. Complete disaster.

The first time I was here, was the last time I was here because the food was incredibly salty! However, decided to give it a 2nd chance and glad I did because I didn't find that at all this time. I've been to Eggspectation twice in the last month, for a ladies' lunch and was very pleased. Had a Brie/Prosciutto flatbread the first time and the BlueCheese/steak sandwich the 2nd time. My friend also was very pleased. So, if you were there before and didn't like the saltiness, try it again!

Had brunch with friends. Policy is no seating until all in party arrive, so we waited 20 minutes for a table. We then waited another 20 minutes to have our orders taken. All orders were correct, but food was bland. Omelet was cold & unappetizing. Mixed berries were still frozen out of a bag, not fresh. Server was polite and efficient, though. If the food had been good, I’d go back. Expensive, too.

Our family visited for a early breakfast, what a good dining experience. The breakfast poutine looked small but the dish is actually quite filling and very much enough! Chicken waffles were good but the chickenv was a bit over cooked and dry. The best part was the breakfast cocktails, very tasteful!

Get read to spend $20 per person for breakfast. That said this place has got great atmosphere. I had the Corned Beef Hash with 2 Eggs Over Medium with a Fruit cup and Coffee. Presentation was awesome, but the corned beef was a little salty for my liking. The yolk from the eggs toned it down a little. Overall, the meal was good, not great, but good. Service was good, but if it were any busier they would really need to step up the pace. This was my 2nd visit, so good enough for a return trip and another sampling on their big menu! Thankfully, I could find Gluten Free options at an additional cost of $2.00. That’s a lot for a substitution.

Loved the ambience - eclectic enough but not overtly trendy to feel conscious. The food was again not very trendy and yet not too IHop’ish (which is a place I like too by the way). We had a tuna burger, eggspectation omelette and chocolate chip cookie pancake for my daughter. All of them were very tasty and not too heavy. The only negative which has nothing to do with Eggspectation was that 1604 was closed at Blanco on the day we went and was stuck in traffic for a while. Would definitely recommend Eggspectation to others.

This place is awesome, you will find great selections for each meal. I use it a lot to meet with clients in my Real estate business, the staff is really nice, very open space plus it has a room for private events

Went there with friends for Father's Day. The noise level is very high in this place. It was so loud it was hard to hear the person next to me talking. Food was good but overpriced. Should have been about 2$ a plate lower. $14 for an omelet and potatoes? On the tables is a card that gives a website to go to for feedback. After filling out a lengthy form and pressing the send button, it said, "we are sorry but can't process your information". I tried again with same results. Tried to contact their home office. The e-mail feedback button didn't work there either. Tried calling them on the phone. They said to leave a message but their answering machine didn't work. Wow, talk about frustration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice ambience and good breakfast. The portions are quite filling and well prepared with a n ice twist to the traditional.

Amazing food, excellent service. Kenna was our server; very knowledgeable about restaurant , menu an exceptional server. Prices are on the high side, but well wort it once and awhile to treat yourself. Will definitely be going back to enjoy more of the extensive menu.

Waffles, pancakes, bacon, potatoes Lyonnaise, and eggs cooked to order are all excellent. The prices seem high however each breakfast entree is definitely large enough to share (even if you are really hungry).

Some family members took us to Eggspectation for Saturday brunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the restaurant (large) and the crowd--clearly popular. Although we had reservations, we had to wait 10 minutes to have our party seated--it was that busy. The food here is creative and reasonably priced for generous quantities. The High Rise is popular--three fluffy pancakes layered with sausage, bacon, and potatoes, all topped with a sunny side up egg. Eggs are all cooked perfectly to order. The flatbread was like a breakfast pizza. There is a full bar with a nice selection of draft beers. Fruit purees served with mimosas are delicious. A side order of fruit incorporates beautiful berries. All in all, this is an excellent casual restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Our only complaint was that our waiter was clearly new to the job--a tad slow, not 100 percent familiar with the menu, and he forgot one drink order.

Had a smoothie to start - good. Had the smoked salmon egg Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. I am definitely going to return. Lots of great choices on the menu.

the building itself was very cool, with the edison lights and the sabby chic decor. The service is very slow, and the food was just ok, plan on waiting along while to get seated on a sunday morning! I know that they have only been open a month and are still working out the kinks but they better speed it up abit or they will not make it! and the the prices are way above what other places are charging for breakfast, Iam not sure we'll go back again! very disappointed!

The setting is exceptional - too bad the staff isn't. While our waiter had extensive stories about all the wait staff's "involvement" in the set up of the restaurant, and stories about the fresh food and expensive equipment they use, we would have been much more impressed if he had listened to us when we ordered. We asked for no ice in our drinks yet they were served with ice - along with the excuse that someone else had poured them for him. I guess he didn't look at what he was bringing us. Then we find out our flatbread was made with an ingredient we had requested to be omitted. We got yet another excuse of how it wasn't the waiters fault and told it would be remade. That would have been great had the other half of our order not sat under a heat lamp until the remade item caught up. The heat lamp dried entree also was not made as we had ordered. Instead of trying to make the place sound interesting, it would be nice if the staff were interested in the customers.

One of the newest and hottest culinary destinations in San Antonio Texas. Eclectic menu, great service and darn good food. The only "problem" is lack of sufficient parking. Other than that, prepare your taste buds for a trip to flavor-town!

Food was good, slightly overpriced, crepes were nasty, French toast was good. Service was extremely slow the waitress forgot about us completely.

I drive past here several times a week and see lots of pics of menu items on social media (which always look amazing) so today with friends in town we decided to give it a try.... the food is not only presented in a picture perfect manor but tastes delicious! I am now excited to go back and try some more menu items. It is busy so be prepared to wait but not long and i promise it’s worth it!

I had brunch with my wife on a Saturday and we enjoyed it very much. Service was excellent, food was hot and tasty.. Not just breakfast and brunch, but a dinner menu as well. We also spied a nice little indoor/outdoor bar area that we will take advantage of on another visit. The only drawback is that it's a 'tad' pricey for breakfast entrees. But the portions are large and my wife and I split an omelette with a side of bacon which was plenty for two. We liked it very much overall.

We arrived on a Sunday morning about 11:00 am. We were told we would have a 30 minute wait but were seated in about 10 minutes. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Our drink order was taken and delivered in a timely fashion as was our meal. I chose the Southwest Sunrise Omelette with the hot sauce on the side. It was flavorful and the potatoes that accompanied it were good. Other meals chosen were the Shrimp and Grits and the Chicken and Waffles. Both were deemed good but the chicken was a little on the dry side. I would eat here again if given the chance.

Waited way too long for eggs & pancakes. Everyone else around us getting served. The excuse is that we were a “large” party of 8. I’d prefer if you just told me the truth & said you lost the order than just lie about it. I doubt if I come back.

This. Place. Ermagherd. The poutine. The lobster benedict. The mimosas! Jesus take the wheel. I wish I lived in San Antonio for this place and this place alone. It was amazing and delicious. Yes, a little bit pricy. Did I mention lobster benedict? Came only for the poutine but left with so much more. I can't wait to visit again.

We decided to try it out for the poutine. The place is new on 1604. It took awhile to get our food. And by the time we got it the poutine was cold and pizza was hot. The poutine may have been better if it was hot. My son said his burger was good. They did have a good little happy hour going on. I guess I would have to Give it another try since they did have a large selection on the menu.

Saw this place off the interstate a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try one Sunday morning with our 2 and 12 yr old. We checked into the wait list on the way there, seated as we soon as we came in, and food came out much quicker than expected at a full /busy restaurant! We had the classic French toast and Belgian waffle (must add the berries on top- wow!) coffee was tasty and service was amazing. Highly recommend!!!

The frittatas were delicious as well as the potatoes. Our waiter Luke was very pleasant and did a great job taking care of us.

Great food, big menu, cool atmosphere. Prices are moderate but you get a lot for what you pay. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I will be going back soon.

I really like this restaurant, the food is delicious! Everything I have tries is really good, my only complaint is that when they are busy (which happens weekends at brunch) the service is not the best.

The restaurant has been open 4 weeks, but they are not operating efficiently yet. Many empty tables on Sunday am with 30-45 min. wait and customers stacked at entrance. We were told because the kitchen is slow delivering food. To my dismay, I saw tables not sanitized and paper placemats plunked down in hurry. The high tables & chairs are extemely uncomfortable. Our waiter was attentive & friendly. My eggs were not medium and bacon was not crisp plus a cook threw cold melon on top of the eggs. Yuk! Also had an issue with no batter on the french toast. What? The manager kindly exchanged for waffles. Waffles were crispy, fluffy and tasted divine! Best I have had! We remembered excellent food at flagship in Montreal and will return hoping for improvement soon.

We couldn't wait for this restaurant to get their liquor license, we had to try it out! And who can resist dinner for breakfast! My hubby is of Canadian descent and he loves Poutine, so he gave it a try. It was very good and pretty darn authentic, he thought (with an added fried egg on top)! I was given a complimentary Mimosa with my Eggstavaganza ... two scrambled Free-Range Omega-3 enriched eggs, two slices of brioche French Toast (sooooo yummy) with pure (warm) maple syrup, bacon and Lyonnaise-style potatos (perfectly cooked and seasoned). Delicious!!! We topped it off with a dessert Chocolate Banana Crepe... can't wait to come back and try more options!!

Atmosphere was great, service is good and food way above average. It is well worth the time to explore the menu.

Excellent place for brunch, excellent food, nice and clean place, very good service, the very attentive and helpful guys, excellent atmosphere

I eat breakfast out 6 days a week for work so I know San Antonio very well. On the higher end I use the Gunther house and Magnolia pancakes as a measuring tool. Today I am at eggspectations First, when a hostess seats you they need to make sure it is an area you approve. Don’t put menus down and leave. Ok so my wife and I split two meals to try. Chicken and waffles are excellent. Waffles are Almost as good but not, as Gunther house. Pancakes are better than IHOP’s but not in Magnolia pancakes league. Not even close. Fried potatoes are worth the visit. Damn good. Bacon is good but I like Magnolias and Gunther’s better. Still good. Just different. Eggs were eggs. Coffee is way better than Magnolias old blend (they have a new one) and just as good as Gunther’s. Leaves us with service- Daniel was excellent. Big complaint is they don’t leave coffee on table and place is loud. I’ll be back.

This is my second visit to great eggspectations. Tonight, Saturday, it is equally exquisite. We sampled lots of food: brie crostini with apples, walnuts, and honey; smoked salmon crostini with cream cheese and cucumber, onions and capers; steak frite (a thick, juicy, well prepared ribeye.) For not being a "steak place, the steak was very high quality. We also sampled the pasta with marinara sauce. The sauce was thick and rich. I had the BLT. Excellent with thick and crispy Applewood smoked bacon. This is definitely a place to return for more meals. At my first visit I had the exuberant (?) Egg platter. Two eggs over easy, bacon, potatoes and pancakes. The coffee is very good. I had the iced café American. I took chocolate cake for later. Saturday night is wide open, not busy, and the music selections were from the seventies and eighties mainstream rock. I had a really good time. It is pricey but worth it.

The 14 oz. ribeye steak was juicy & cooked to perfection. My wife had the filet mignon & lobster - she loved it. The s'mores French toast completed the meal. We probably should have walked home - too much good food! There's a very large selection & everything on the menu appears to be top quality from the range free eggs to the Angus beef. The only probably was deciding what to order - guess we'll have to go back again - soon!!! My wife wants to try the Eggs Benedict & I want to try everything.

We arrived there 47 minutes after they were open although place was empty. We may have stood there a couple of minutes when we had to call staff to come out of the kitchen. Once seated it seemed everyone had just woken from a hell of a party and had a hangover. The service was slow and the atmosphere just felt weird. We ordered the chocolate chip pancake that was listed as two. We got a huge flat misshaped pancake. I decided not to ask. The food was good but a little pricey.

Best french toast I've ever had and the service is five star. If, like me, breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, you are going to love this Montreal based chain.

The coffee was good and the food was not bad but hard to pay about double what I do at Jim's. The pancakes were dry so that was disappointing. The person who delivered my plate (not the server) left my plate in the middle of the table. I had to move my plate in front of me as she's telling me to be careful because it's hot. So then why leave it too far away?

Wanted to try something different in the area for brunch/lunch with a friend. We looked at the menu before hand and decided to give this place a try. I had the french toast flambe, which was really good. I ordered a side of bacon to go with it. The bacon was delicious and cooked perfectly. I also had a really good mango alcoholic drink (I can't remember the name of it). I would have given them 5 stars, but the prices were a bit on the high side. The bacon was 2 slices of bacon and was $5! My whole meal, including a moderate tip was $40! It was good, but not somewhere that I'd go on a regular basis.

We visited for Sunday brunch with friends. At 10am there was a large crowd waiting for table but they got us in in about ten minutes. Parking is a challenge with the crowds. We ended up parking at a strip mall down the access road and walking. The food was great but pricey for what you get. My bagel breakfast sandwich was $15. A small smoothie was $5. The service was slow but we didn't mind.

Service was excellent, I had a Coffee Mocha, it was very good, wife had juice drink, she really liked it. Coffee was 4, drink was 6, I ordered the bagel egg sandwich, I liked it, it was filling and delivered some good flavor. The wife had the S.W. Veggie omelette. She loved it, very generous with the avocado:) Anyway, The Whole meal with tip came in at $44 bucks(a little much just for breakfast in my book) Apparently, they have a good happy hour and we intend to try it out:)

Food was ok, but very overpriced. No bread, biscuit etc. served with omelette. Lighting swful, very noisy. Tables need refurbishing badly. Wait staff excellent. Pepper mill unusable. Description on menu in very small font and difficult to read in bad lighting. .

Great Food, Great Service & Decor! Our first time. Why the 4.5 Rating - the Only Coffee Creamer wasn’t Plain Jane :( However Overall, it’s was more than a Satisfying, Interesting, Wonderful Food, & Service Experience!

The food took too long to arrive after we ordered it and the place was not packed. I ordered the eggs Benedict and was not happy with them. The English muffin had not been toasted, the eggs were overcooked, the hollandiase sauce was not up to par either. The potatoes were good. My husband ordered a fresh oj and crab cakes. The oj was small and expensive, the crab cakes were good, but too small. Overall, I think it was overpriced for what we got, although the menu looked good.

Excellent service from JP he came by always asking how was everything! Always attentive and kind! Food was excellent as well!

Just such a great idea, great name, setting...who woulda thought? Great vision! Had no idea what to expect other than eggs many different ways! Very modern, white furniture, patio out back, and of course no sound barriers...The menu offers many different styles of Eggs Benedict beginning at $13.95. They are the best cage free eggs! I chose the chicken spinach mushroom crepe $12.95. Very good! Came with small salad and crostini. My husband ordered the tomato bisque, only choice of soup but they suddenly changed to chicken tortilla. He declined. Their menu also offered hamburgers many different ways, salads, a great bar with many fab drinks to chose from. My parting thought was that Eggspectations forgot to convert their charges from Canadian dollars to American dollars. Great idea, great Eggspectations!

Went here for business and had never been before. Absolutely delighted by the unique take on dishes and excellent service. Went back 3 times in two weeks. Great custom juices and nice little twists on breakfasts staples.

We love this place, and until today, I would give it a solid 5. The atmosphere is perfect...they play a great variety of music, the decor is very modern and it is definitely a trendy spot. They have a pretty stocked bar and squeeze their own juices. Every time I’ve been, most everyone in our party has really enjoyed their food. The portions are ridiculously huge. They use really fresh ingredients and have something for everyone - including special diets. They also have items that you don’t really find at most breakfast or brunch spots. My reasoning for giving it a “4” today is because we waited a ridiculously long time on our food today for everything to just be warm. My dad said his Poutine dish had gotten soggy from sitting too long in the kitchen. My husband thought it was to die for last visit, so I felt bad suggesting it. Our service wasn’t as great as my last 2 visits either...not bad, just not as attentive as usual. I definitely wouldn’t write this place off based on today’s visit though. I’ve had different dishes each time...I’ve had 2 of the savory crepe dishes now, The Heavenly Crepe and the Eggspectation Crepe. Both are good. I had the Spicy Polenta Benedict today, and it’s probably been my favorite thing thus far; however, it was definitely NOT spicy...just really flavorful. I also ordered the “Go Bananas” Smoothie...I wouldn’t order that again. It wasn’t very tasty and was $5.25; just nothing special. Definitely get the Eggspectation Coffee with the different booze additions. It is delicious and I regretted not getting it today! I’ve had a few Bloody Marys there and they were pretty average, even with the addition of their fresh squeezed juices. Everyone at our table regretted not getting French Toast or the bacon - it looked amazing! Overall, the food is usually way above average. I’ve been there 3 times now (around noon on weekdays) and the crowd can be hit or miss, but we’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes. The service has always been decent. I would definitely just go when you’re not in a hurry! It’s definitely a spot to get a boozy beverage and relax:)

Friendly staff, great service eggceptional food! The menu had classic breakfast items from benedicts to breakfast tacos!

As a San Antonio local, this is one of my favorite spots in this neighborhood. Consistently clean, with great food and service. I like the variety on the menu. They also have really good coffee and fresh juices.

Food was good. Service was extremely slow. After checking in with the nowait app, we got here and was told it would be a 20 minute wait which was fine. It took closer to 45 minutes to get seated. After getting seating, it took close to 45 minutes to get out food, and when we did get our food, they forgot to put my sons order in so he had to wait even longer. Despite the food being decent, I don't think we'll be back anytime soon, and definitely not on a Sunday.

I think the food may have been okay but the noise was almost unbearable. The design of the restaurant is awful.

Two of us ate at Eggspectation mid-afternoon for $46.00 (including tip). It's pricey with both coffee & tea at $2.75, omelettes and crepes at $11.95 and $12.95 and a fruit cup at $4.95. The menu has a lot of variety, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner items. At least one description on the menu for the crepes is somewhat misleading as it clearlly promotes a sauce for the crepes, but yet only one crepe actually comes with a sauce on the top. My "Heavenly Crepe" had a tasty filling of chicken, mushrooms and cheese but no sauce on the top. When I questioned the server she brought the menu over and explained the sauce was only put on top of one of the crepes (obviously not one that I ordered). I found the crepe itself to be rather dry. The fruit cup is attractive with fresh fruit but rather small for the price. My companion had a vegetable omelet with potatoes which he reported to be very good. The most disliked thing about this attractive new restaurant is the noise level. The concrete floor, and high ceiling coupled with the overly loud background music with a heavy downbeat, makes it difficult to hold a conversation. Most seating is at tables with straight back metal chairs in an open area. There are very few booths The service was fine and all employees were very friendly and courteous, seemingly with an abundance of employees manning the door to open it for both incoming and outgoing customers. It's debatable as to whether we will return given the variety of other restaurants in the area.

Very good place - we will definitely go back. Good location, neat large dining area and a very cool bar that opens onto a patio. Unlike most breakfast places it wasn't decorated like my grandmothers house. The waitstaff was eggceptional. The servings are very generous and they have an great breakfast menu way beyond eggs. In fact, the servings were so huge that we'll probably have to do some additional eggsercise to work it off, no yoke! :) The coffee is robust and flavorful...also unlike most breakfast places where the coffee tastes more like hot brown water.. I love breakfast and I can eat it for any meal so this is a great restaurant. All in all great place.

And real good! Service was excellent, espresso and cappuccino was excellent, the blueberry and fresh squeezed orange juice was excellent. Both breakfast were good. Place was clean, people were friendly. Good spot to stop and fill up on good drinks and food

My son will be driving in from Dallas next week and wants to try a new breakfast place. Soooo my wife and granddaughter visited Eggspectation this morning. Now the reviews were better than average, but if food is good no problem. i had the southwest omelette. it was good. my wife had the buttermilk pancakes...we were going to share. however, the 3 pancakes (for $10.95) were too thick, dry and tasted from a box mix. My wife who loves pancakes left 3/4 on her plate (unheard of). My granddaughter had the banana split waffle. it was too sweet even for her, but she did eat the whole thing. Service was adequate, food arrived a shade cold. Overall, it was ok. however, 3 entrees, 2 coffees, one lemonade. bill with tip...a whopping $58!. If i were to bring my son and family, estimated cost would be approximately $140. no thank you...either we go to Jim's OR i make breakfast at home...i'll choose the latter!!

Absolutely loved the Avocado eggs benedict! The eggs were cooked to perfection. Every table was filled so we sat at the bar. The bartender was utterly amazing as well! Very attentive to both my husband and I while we sipped some Irish coffee and mimosas. We will definitely return!

The menu was quite extensive with breakfast and lunch choices. I had the waffles with strawberries they were warm, perfectly cooked with a hint of vanilla. Coffee was good but the orange juice was fresh-squeezed! Bacon is extra, it was crispy and thick!

We had breakfast. The place was packed but the food was nothing special and way too costly for what you get. We won't go back.

I have been here 3 times enjoyed all meals. The Bloody Mary's are all wonderful especially the one with the bacon!

We were thrilled when we found out an Eggspectation was opening in San Antonio! We fell in love with the restaurant when we were in Montreal a coupl years ago. The food was spectacular, just as we remembered!

Everything we ordered was awesome! The blueberry lemon pancakes were amazing! Coffee, omelets, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and pancakes were so good!

They have a great menu. Great atmosphere. Very cool place. I had the lobster omelette which was unfortunately not up to par. I mentioned that to the waiter and he brought the manager over. She explained the lobster may have been too briney because it may have been at the bottom of their packaging. She was very attentive and respectful and comped us on that portion of the meal and asked if she could send us home with another meal. I declined because I was full from the omelette portion of my meal (which was just fine). My wife had the grits for the second time and they are fabulous!! We will go again because there are several other items I want to try. I will think twice about the seafood but that will not keep us from coming back.

My boys love the crepes and everything tastes delicious. It has good health options too. There is a small room for about 20 that we have used for breakfast meetings that is really comvinient.

Breakfast lovers, you are in for a treat!!! Husband had the Waffle bacon benedict and last time had the high rise pancakes. Both were amazing! Tried the Eggspectation omelette and loved it. Potatoes are awesome! Coffee is very good! Creative menu, with many fun mix drinks and beers. Nice patio and great ambiance inside. Definitely recommend for large parties! Good for kids, too! Will be back to try their lunch!

When you walk in to this place you are keyed up to a beautiful, modern restaurant. Then you sit down and get this amazing menu. That is when you wake up. The food really lacked flavor and by no means lived up to the great surroundings. I was there with my wife. I had there version of egg in a hole. Terrible. No flavor what so ever and every bite was dominated by a huge, bland bagel. My wife's omelet looked pretty but did not deliver. The freshness of the ingredients advertised in the menu did not shine thru nor did the execution in the kitchen. We were initially served another table's food. We did not touch the food because we had a sneaking suspicion it wasn't ours. A few minutes later the waitress returned and apologized. She asked if we had touched the plate- we hadn't- and took it and served it to the table right next to us. For the price point this place does NOT deliver. My egg in a hole was about 14 dollars and same for the mediocre omelet. We won't be back for a while- hopefully they are just working out all the kinks.......

We tried to stop here last Sunday around noon but they were packed, cars parked on the access road and many people waiting outside. So, we stopped there today (thursday) for lunch and glad we did. No waiting for a table. the menu is varied and offers many items. my wife choose the rosemary chicken sandwich and I ordered a flat bread pizza, simple and good. the food is excellent but not inexpensive but worth the price. we are glad we came and are planning on returning very soon to try other menu items.

I have been to the Eggspectation restaurant in San Antonio twice and based on my experience on both occassions, they might be the last times I will go there. Visit 1. My wife and I went for lunch one afternoon. We ordered a Montreal Bagel toasted with butter to share. My wife ordered an Eggs Benedict and I ordered the Crab Cakes. My crab cakes were good and I enjoyed them. The bagel was plain. When we asked the manager about the sesame and poppy seeds, as was in the picture and as we are used to, he told us that unfortunately that is what they received from the HQ so that is all they could do. My wife's eggs benedict had an overcooked poached egg with a hard yolk and dry hollandaise sauce caked on top of the egg. She was very disappinted. Despite our disappointment, I convinced her to invite our friends who were visiting from out of town with their two kids to go their for brunch on a Sunday. We (a party of 7) got to the restaurant and noon and were told that the wait was one hour. We made a decision to stay. At 1245, I was told it would be another 15 minutes. At 1 pm, it was another fifteen minutes. At 1:30, "Sorry sir, we have no idea. There are two large parties ahead of you." "Well, can you tell me whether it will take 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 90 minute more?" "Sorry, we have no idea." The manager had no idea either. At about 1 PM, we see two tables of four next to each other were seated with two parties of three each. Anyway, we left. Given this quality of food and service, we are unlikely to return.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while lost in San Antonio. What a great find. The food was delicious, the ambience welcoming.

Ate breakfast here. Plates average around $15. Not cheap but great food. So many fresh food options - waffles, crepes, eggs Benedict. Not traditional breakfast plates, so be prepared to select a variety of uncommon options. Good to have different options. I can go to IHOP for common entrees anytime. Atmosphere is casual. Good for friends or family. Large open room with cement floors and exposed ceilings, like a loft. Easy to get to off 1604 and Blanco Rd exit. It was busy but we didn't wait long. You can eat at bar too. There's a coffee bar. They offer burgers and steaks too. Trying dinner here later this week. They have lobster Mac n cheese option. Yum!

We went to try out Eggspectation since it's new to the area. It wasn't very busy, servers everywhere. We sat for 15 minutes and nobody ever came to wait on us. Super disappointing because it looks like a cool place.
New North Side San Antonio Hot Spot
Great service. Fully priced. A little noisy. Will visit again. Good selection. Something for everyone. Great bar.
