Went out for breakfast on a Friday morning before going to the Field Museum. Eggie's is located one block east of the downtown Fairmount Great service with a breakfast to match. The maple flavored sausage links, French toast, etc....I am ready to go back.

We went to eat here on 10/9/2019 for breakfast, and it was actually not an easy find. But pretty good food once we got there.

Great breakfast and great coffee! Once we found this gem we never left. We went to Wildberry but like this place more! One of our favs in Chicago.

Good sized portions, loads of food options, friendly service - even when 16 people had come in for breakfast without booking and they were really rushed. Portions were so big I ended up taking my fruit away and eating it later. We came here for both of our breakfasts in Chicago, much nicer than a hotel breakfast.

I just had a wonderful time visiting here. Food was nice and tasty. Staff were punctual, knowledgeable, and friendly. Ambience was very good.

Was looking for something within walking distance from my hotel. Eggys kept popping up, so I went. Burger was good. Appeared to have been a frozen patty (I don't know for sure, patty was just too perfectly shaped). Place wasn't crowded at all, despite the fact I was there during happy hour. A little hole in the wall place. Decent food, clean, friendly staff & reasonable prices.

Visited for lunch. Turkey Club was excellent as was the Soup of the Day. Service was very good as well but we thought the prices were a bit steep.

Talk about a great place with delicious food and plenty of it! Ended up taking some food back to WI with me and enjoyed it today! GREAT PLACE! I will be back!

We walked here on a Sunday morning from our nearby hotel, but found there was a 45 minute wait to sit down to eat so we ordered our meals to go since we had plans. We waited about 15 minutes for our meal, were offered plastic silverwear and some condiments to-go, then walked back to eat in our hotel's lobby. Our breakfast was delicious, a little bit too much food actually, and unfortunately a bit cold after walking it back. Overall, great food and very ample portions.

Eggy's was about a 10 minute walk from the Fairmont Chicago Hotel, we arrived around 10 a.m. on Memorial Day and there was an hour wait. We decided to get takeout from the menu. The omelet, pancakes, eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes were GREAT. Especially the breakfast potatoes. Overall great value for the food. And the staff were super friendly and accommodating. In nice weather there are spots to find a seat outside, which we did. I was disappointed that we couldn't eat in, because the place looked really cute. But it's small (maybe seating for 20-25).

The food and service was excellent. It’s tough to find but worth the effort. Greta choices for breakfast and they skillet type breakfast which was great. Breakfast was about $55 for 2, so pricey……

We came here for brunch with a group of 6 people and although it is very busy we were able to get seated relatively quickly. There was a great choice of food on the menu and the portions were huge which is just what we like! A great american experieince!

Lots of variety and good choices and very generous portions. I had the crab cake eggs Benedict which were delicious. The pancakes were also good. One star off because the side order of ham was dry.

We wanted to round out our weekend in Chicago with a good breakfast, so we chose Eggy’s. My wife ordered the Eggy’s Benedict, I chose the Tijuana Skillet off the specials menu, and my 8 year old daughter chose chicken tenders. All three of our entrees were REALLY bland. I’m talking completely devoid of flavor. The chicken tenders tasted like they didn’t season them at all. Coming from the south, I’m used to people seasoning the food when they cook it. The Eggy’s Benedict looked great, but it had absolutely ZERO flavor. My Tijuana Skillet looked like it had promise, but it also had no flavor. One of the issues was that the tomatoes were cooked with it, and it caused a pool of juice to collect at the bottom of the dish. It could’ve taken all the flavor with it. None of us ate more than half of our meal, and that never happens. It earned two stars, because the OJ was fantastic, the coffee was good, and my side pancake was really good.

Was in town with my wife and went to Eggy’s for breakfast on rec of her biz colleague, and it was well worth it! A short walk from the Hyatt, it’s in a fairly small, but open, space. A very full and eclectic breakfast menu, she had the stuffed French toast, and I had a Denver omelette, both of which were LARGE portions, and very tasty. Service was good, and my wife appreciated her own small pot of coffee on the table, with REAL cream. So, if you are in the area and looking for something besides hotel food in the morning, then Eggy’s will not disappoint.

We went to Eggy's before my conference for a quick bite. I was a little disappointed that my Eggy's Benedict was cold; however, my potatoes were extremely hot, like the Benedict portion was plated way too soon. My husband could not eat the last quarter of his skillet because it was nearly all jalapenos. Overall tho, the meal was very tasty, we enjoyed the environment, and the location is nicely situated outside a pretty park.

Had breakfast here. Food was decent, good portion sizes and fair prices. Server was not very affable , she appeared bored.

We had a great breakfast here this morning- service was very efficient, Jason was our server who was awesome. Breakfast was delicious- large portions so go hungry! Would definitely go back

Eggy’s is my go to breakfast spot whenever I’m in the Windy City. Food is great and the staff are young, enthusiastic and friendly. Normally a solo diner here and always made feel really valued!

I was staying at the Swissotel and I could see this diner from my room’s window so looked it up. Based on the great reviews I decided to give it a try. It was a super easy walk across a beautiful park. I arrived at a little after 7:30am which is when they open and had no problems getting a table. The service was first rate and the food was excellent. I had the Chilaquiles with avocado ($1 extra). It was huge and very tasty. I did my best but I could not finish my plate. I was tempted to add chicken to it (+$2) but am glad I didn’t as it was very hearty on it’s own. I also had a latte. It wasn’t as hot as I like so the server offered to remake it for me. The second one was perfect. They have free WiFi and the password is posted on the chalkboard straight ahead at the back of the restaurant. They also offer hand sanitizer at the front desk (the large machine when you first walk in was empty). I really liked the trendy vibe / neighborhood feel of the place and wish I lived in Chicago as I would be a regular. If I ever return, I would love to try out the crepes. Oh, and apparently they are now serving dinner too. I did not check the menu for that, but I bet it’s great.

Always a great choice. I have yet to have a bad meal and or negative experience here. This is a favorite of mine always!

Excellent breakfast. Large portions, great place to order different items and share. We had a skillet, benny, waffle, and french toast. All were perfect!

Lots of food, colour, atmosphere, noise and fun. Huge portions of home fries and a million options to go with them. Would def return, but you’ll need a good appetite!

We ate here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Even if it looks like there is a lot of people waiting, the turn around is quick. The food was good and the service was prompt. Enjoyed eating here.

Eggy's is a great little diner on E Benton, north of the Maggie Day Park. They have a urban(ish) indoor seating area with a fair number of tables and serve up classic American breakfasts and lunch orders. Opening hours are 7.30am to 3pm daily. We recently stayed in Chicago and visited several diners for breakfast. Eggy's was our far and away favourite. Service was very friendly, timely and everything tasted great. Buttermilk pancakes were fluffy, side of bacon and biscuits w/ gravy were all just great, tasted exactly as they should. We also liked the Avocado Toast w/ fruit cup from the Healthy Food section of the menu. All served with good coffee, this was an all around great breakfast Would gladly return to Eggy's for another breakfast the next time we find ourselves in Chicago.

What a disappointing experience. Was really looking forward to Avo on english muffin but boy was I disappointed. Turned up and I had to wade through half a bag of vinaigrette covered salad leaves to find a not toasted english muffin with three chunks of Avocado. Better of going to Wild berry a couple of hundred feet away which has a queue outside which says it all. Dont know where they get their high review score from?

Good Service. Great menu and the outcome was a MASSIVE breakfast. So make sure you go there hungry. l'd go back without a doubt

This is one of the best breakfasts you'll ever have, and you won't over pay for it. Quick, good service. The home-made Bloody Mary's are so good; hard to decide each time we go. the items marked Eggy's specials are a sure thing.

We had the most delicious breakfast here! We had eggs, omelets and gluten free pancakes. Everything was cooked perfectly and portion sizes were generous! We would go back again in a heartbeat!

Four of us enjoyed the breakfast very much, especially the potatoes. We might have walked an extra mile but finally found it. Service was fast and friendly.

We luckily found Eggy’s close to our hotel and the food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and very reasonably priced. A great find. Thank you

The food was so good that we went back the following day. I must have eggs for breakfast but glad I was able to do a half order of Apple French toast. Delicious!

We tried to eat here 20/08. The server asked for our number, we advised it was a UK one, she said we can’t register for the queue with a UK number & told us to come back in 20 mins. We asked what would happen then if there was no tables then, as they couldn’t contact us if any came free - she just said to wait elsewhere & come back in 20 mins; we were told we couldn’t wait inside even though other people were!! She couldn’t have been more unhelpful or aloof & didn’t answer our question as to whether it was worth coming back in 20 mins because if a table came free, it would surely go to people behind us because they couldn’t call us? So if you’re a non-US tourist, I wouldn’t bother as they weren’t interested & she was quite snooty & unwelcoming so my advice is to just go to Yolk up the road who were super helpful & friendly.

A solid little cafe with the usual omelettes, etc. and some specialty creations. Seating is not super comfy - but I guess you are not lingering there. At least there is a banquette. Coffee comes in your own pot and is good, not great. Service is slow when busy. I was underwhelmed but need to try it again to make a precise review.

Very tasty and hearty dishes! Big variety in breakfast & brunch menu. Recommend this place for breakfast.

Absolutely the best diner food I have ever had. Great service too. Brilliant. The Mexican skillet was superb and the pancakes were fabulous. It sets the bar high…

We were here in November 2023. Good quality and attention. We had a salad with egg and fruit, some chocolate pancakes, a coffee and a juice for $41

Nice spot off the beaten track with a very nice vibe. Great breakfast. Everything super fresh. Not a hole in the wall at all, nice modern diner serving great food.

On a Sunday afternoon I walking around town and happened upon it. The server (Jesus) was kind. The Coffee came with its own small pot. They allowed me to substitute salad for bread, and also to take the salad with me. I had the Colorado omelet. As it's a diner it's a little messy and the food isn't particularly refined. But a descent enough place overall.

Delicious food, friendly personnel, huge portions, beware ;)) absolutely loved the place. Pancakes, omelettes and crepes - make these you first choice. We took our 3 kids here, they loved it just as much.

A great Diner tucked away but worth finding. Typical American fare, fresh and served with a smile. Great coffee and food to sooth the soul. I would recommend this Diner even though it is of the track slightly, go down the stairs off E Randolph Street, for lunch!

We walked here in the way to 'the bean', after putting our name on the wait list through Yelp. This is a must do! We only waited a couple of mins instead of a hr, like those who didn't. I had 2 eggs, 2 sausage, potatoes, and the cinnamon roll pancake. Wow! Service was great, food was great, what do you want??!!

We saw Eggys from the window of our hotel and figured it sounded like fun for breakfast. We were right! A menu packed with all sorts of innovative breakfast choices (and other mealtimes too!) and we had a great experience. We had the crab cake Benedict and pastrami hash, both of which were just fantastic. The crab cakes were absolutely perfect and the English muffin was exactly that. The sauces were super tasty, the service was excellent too, and we had the best coffee we had in Chicago. Highly recommended!

The menu had lots of things that sounded tasty. We ordered the Avocado plat (avocado topped with tuna salad, plus cottage cheese and fruit) and Chicken Waffles. I was very happy to find a healthy plate for lunch and my teen loved her meal. Good service; We were seated immediately and the food was delivered quickly. Only negative is it’s location that is a short hike from Michigan Ave. we will be back!

Delicious meal. We are visiting from Florida and braved the freezing, windy walk to get to this restaurant and it was totally worth it. Just FYI for families with kids or elderly - if you are out if towners there are elevators to bypass the stairs to get to this area where the restuarant is located. Its surrounded by other little stores and what I assume to be apartments and a park. Limited street parking. We were greeted and seated immediately. Very clean, modern decor. A chalkboard over the bar indicates bar menu, wifi password, soups of the day and more. Nice Latino music playing had me jamming while waiting more our meals. I got Eggy’s Breakfast Sandwich which consisted of - "Fried egg, bacon, red onion jam, mixed greens, herb aioli on a bun and served with Eggy’s potatoes". For the kiddos got the chocolate pancakes. I also got a hot chcolate to ward off the chill of the walk over. The food was brought out in a reasonable time. That sandwich qss amazing, the first bite with the running yolk had me hooked. The red onion jam really set it off as well. Well cooked and all the food was hot and fresh. Their pancake syrup was tasty as well. The hot chocolate was served with what tasted like freshly made whipped cream and it was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would definitely return. I want to try the french toast and I'm not even a french toast type of girl.

This is a terrific place to have breakfast. It has a large and varied breakfast menu. Our family, ranging from age 9 to age 73, each found many things we wanted to order. Portions are very large - you may want to consider ordering 1 entree for two people. Examples below. There also is a lovely view of the park outside. Very close to many hotels and Margaret Daley Park. You can walk down or take an escalator down to the level of the restaurant. Strongly recommended.

Amazing food, fast service and good Bloody Mary’s! The green eggs and ham was fabulous. We shared a lox and bagel too. So good!

Went here with a friend while in Chicago on business, I have no real complaints about the food other than my toast was a little burnt but overall I enjoyed the meal. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and their potatoes. The scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes were all good. Service was good and we received our food rather quickly. If you're staying at the Swissotel or any of the nearby hotels downtown, this place is in walking distance.

After another restaurant was going to be an hour and a half wait, we decided on Eggy’s. Checked in online and got a table quickly. The cinnamon roll pancakes were great!

After having read positive reviews, we were looking forward to having brunch at Eggy’s. Whenever we are in a new city, we like to try out the local restaurants. As Sunday brunch was very busy, we returned on Tuesday. Despite a good selection of brunch dishes, we found the dishes quite salty and greasy. Also the service was less than friendly. We much preferred in terms of quality, friendliness and price the chain, the Corner Bakery Cafe that we had tried several days earlier.

We read about this place in Trip Advisor & it was also recommended by our hotel. We called & were told it would an hour wait. Got there & got lucky to grab two seats at the bar as soon as we arrived. Food was good, not outstanding but good. The server noticed our food was taking a long time & she automatically took 25 percent off our bill! Liked it enough that we would go back.

Been to Eggy's several times, and personally prefer it to Wildberry, the other main spot for brunch. It does get busy, but never quite as bad as Wildberry and the food is of equal quality without being super heavy. Would definitely recommend the omelettes, especially the Spanish Omelet.

This large, open diner offered the perfect ambience and food for a cold winter’s afternoon - comforting and calorific classics, such as the fried chicken and waffle ‘signature’ dish my partner and I enjoyed. Cappuccino and hot chocolate were also good, with good service and prices much as you’d expect for such a restaurant.

I wouldn't recommend this place to friends but they have decent food. However, if you are picky about how your eggs are done, then I would most definitely stay away. I had the crab cake Benedict and one of the eggs was done right and the second...not so much. My friend's dish was the same. I would recommend Wildberry, 3 Arts, Toast, or Anne Sather's over this place in a heartbeat. I would say they are better than Yolk though since I find Yolk's food to be far too bland for my liking.

Prior to visiting Chicago, I checked online reviews and decided this would be our breakfast spot and is only about a 10 minute walk from the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverfront hotel. It took us over 30 minutes to walk there our first time as Google Maps gave us the wrong directions due to the 3 levels in Chicago in this area. It did not disappoint. I recommend getting there early as it gets busy, with wait times, but it was also the marathon weekend. We arrived slightly ahead of the marathon weekend and during the weekday, it was still 3/4 full by 8:10am. It is obviously a well loved restaurant off the beaten path in the downtown area lower level. Service is very kind and the food is amazing. If we ever return to Chicago, this will definitely be our daily breakfast spot.

I have eaten at Eggy’s several times, but it dawned on me today that a good review was in order! When I’m in the near north area, this is a go to place for breakfast! Heard the pancakes and waffles are great, but I’m stuck on the Denver omelet or the Lox and Bagel! If you need a comfort place and want to get out of the hotels in the area, Eggy’s is it!!

Fabulous breakfast. We had breakfast tacos. We both loved them. Wish we had found this place yesterday. Service was great. Thanks so much!

We had breakfast there this morning and it was excellent, waffle was airy, pancakes huge!! Saw a line over the weekend, but we got in and out quickly on a weekday.

These guys do the best breakfasts in the U.S. A great menu choice, quality ingredients, and decent portion sizes. Good value too. Try the hot sauce with the corned beef hash!

Great food and pleasant atmosphere. Hidden Gem in middle of Buildings on a cute park. Perfect spot for a brunch.

Busy as usual on Sunday morning. It took forever to get acknowledged and get coffee after we we seated. One of our group asked the hostess if we had a server. If it was just me, I would have left. When the food arrived, two meals had cold eggs. My eggs were cold, sausage links Luke warm and potatoes piping hot. So it seems to me food was sitting waiting for potatoes. When I flagged down the server and advised him, he brought me fresh hot eggs. I have to give them kudos for giving us 50 percent off the bill for the bad experience.

Found this place not far from our hotel & so glad we did! All this for $9.75/£10 come on it’s a no brainier! Set up for the day ahead now. Friendly staff great menu selection good value for money & free Wi-fi too. I’m in Chicago for four days so no doubt I’ll return before we leave.

I was able to preorder breakfast through grubhub the night before. I woke up to a hot, tasty breakfast that was much cheaper than the hotel option. The serving sizes were enormous and the food was fantastic. Veggie omelet, toast, and pancakes were all really good.

Great place for brunch and breakfast, Jason was our guy, he was nice, food was excellent and served fast. Highly recommended.

1st class generous omelet. Attentive fun wait staff great play list and possibly the best decaf coffee I have ever had Looking forward to trying so many items from the menu. Yum yum

Four of us had breakfast at Eggy’s Restaurant at the recommendation of our hotel staff. Service was good, but a bit lacking at times. This may have been due to the ramp up in seated tables shortly after our arrival. The food was mostly good except the grits that a couple of us ordered. Well, it’s Chicago, not Charleston. My wife had to return her breakfast as it was cold. However, mine was so hot it burnt my mouth. Strange how that happens sometimes. It took a few minutes, but hers came out fine the second time.

Google searched breakfast places near my hotel, would not have found this place without it as its hidden in an office park. Glad I did! It was delicious, fast, had a friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. Eggy Benedict was tasty but didnt care for the waffle in place of an english muffin. My wife had bananas foster french toast and loved it.

Went here for breakfast on a trip to Chicago recently. Definitely the best breakfast I had while there, totally worth a visit. Try the breakfast burrito

Would highly recommend for any group looking for a great place to eat breakfast/brunch. So much tasty food for a solid price. The chilaquiles or any of the skillets are must tries. Their pancakes are also a delicious fulfillment for a morning sweet tooth

Great place for breakfast and we all really enjoyed the food. Serve ex could have been better with waiters knocking into our chairs when trying to feed the baby and no apology...

As you might tell by the pictures, this little place is an oasis of a sort built in a confined park. The food was very good. Service was good. Price was reasonable. If I lived nearby, I’d go more than I should. The off the beaten path location makes it special although it is easily accessible from the river trail.

Stopped in without reservations on an early Saturday afternoon. The place was very busy, but the staff was very friendly in spite of the number of customers. Great food and good sized portions. Will stop again when we're in town. Highly recommended!

Although quite a long walk, my daughter and I were happy we walked here on a beautiful March Saturday for brunch. There was a long wait so we walked around and took a look in the grocery store called Mariana's (sp?) nearby where there is a bar open at 10 for wine. That was a first for me in a grocery store at 10 a.m. drinking prosecco! Back to Eggy's, they have cocktails and serve both breakfast and lunch in the morning. My daughter ordered a breakfast entree and I opted for lunch. Both were very goodtasty and fresh as well as generous portions. Service was good even though they were quite busy. I would go back here again.

Most awesome diner well worth the 20 minutes wait for the table would pay to call ahead and reserve! Menu is superb and meals delightfull thoroughly recommend!

Two of us had different breakfasts here. Irish Skillet, Breakfast Burritos. Both offered generous portions, but overly greasy and heavy. Regretted later in the day. Toast was good--stick to that and something light, you'll be happier.

This is not fancy but I liked it for its eclectic busy atmosphere and really good egg skillet dishes. If you are looking for oatmeal or fruit or a generally non calorific breakfast then this is not your place. It is tucked away but reasonably easy to find and we were seated quickly. It was very busy and we were at a large table with people left and right of us. My Americian Skillet with scrambled eggs was good but my companions oatmeal a disaster. We sort of expected that though but were willing to give it a try. Good fun, pretty efficient and not expensive.

Great diner! Full and needed to wait 15 mins but the service staff are all over that. Food is delicious! Totally recommend everything about this lovely place

Wouldn’t ever come here again. I got the eggy benedit and pancakes. Everything came cold - even an extra side of hollandaise! The pulled pork was so dry I couldn’t even eat it

We went there to grab something to eat - from a chicago diner. Finally we have ordered ‚eggys burger’ and ‚grilled chicken’ sandwich with fries and sweet potatos. It was enormously big and very tasty! The atmosphere was very cosy and nice. Staff was really good and nice. There were not many people - probably because of the time;)

I was trying at the Swissotel and used Grubhub to order online. Food was ready in 10 min. The place was packed but i walked in and out. (Prepaid with grubhub) and enjoyed a quick breakfast in my room for a fraction of the price.

I couldn't finish the omelet because the portion was so large! Everything was fresh and tasty. Warning---it is popular so you may have to wait for a table. They were quick and efficient. I appreciate that because I hate cold food.

Great diner with numerous breakfast and lunch options. Most plates can be shared as Eggy’s does not shy away from their portions. Quality and taste is exceptional. I had breakfast one day and lunch on the following day. Both times my meals were phenomenal. It is spacious with the servers being very attentive.

This place is a gem. Love that we could get a table. All sorts of fun twists that you would bother with at home. Staff works together to extend great hospitality to locals and visitors alike.

We went here because a very popular brunch spot in Chicago was overcrowded. However the breakfast here is delicious and a fun atmosphere. Great for a quick bite to eat to enjoy with friends - should be a high up restaurant for brunch in the city!

How many people in Chicago are aware of Lakeshore East Park and Eggy's Diner? My wife and I have lived in downtown Chicago since 1983, long before either of these attractions were conceived. But now we know and so should you. Located at 333 Benton Place, in the Lakeshore East neighborhood, which includes some of the finest luxury apartment buildings in the city, east of Columbus Drive, north of Randolph Street, near Maggie Daley Park, Eggy's is modeled after homey 1960s diners. Open from 7:30 to 3 daily, its menu for breakfast and lunch is designed to give a home-cooked feel. While most reviews rave about breakfast, don't pass up lunch if you have an opportunity. Eggy's is a keeper in a bustling neighborhood that is widely acknowledged as "one of the best kept secrets in Chicago." Well, Eggy's no longer is a secret. For breakfast, my wife and I enjoy corned beef hash with two scrambled eggs, Eggy's crepes stuffed with strawberries, bananas and pecans and topped with whipped cream, apple cinnamon French toast with house-made apple cinnamon compote and two unique and tasty versions of Eggs Benedict, one with mini Belgian waffles topped with maple glazed pulled pork, two poached eggs and house-made hollandaise sauce and the other with a toasted English muffin topped with sauteed spinach, two poached eggs and house-made hollandaise sauce. Not to mention two scrambled eggs with pork maple sausage links, Eggy's potatoes and toast. For lunch, we started with vegetable chili with five beans, cheddar cheese and sour cream and chicken tortilla soup with chicken breast, corn, radish and cilantro in chili broth with tortilla chips. Then a Patty Melt, a beef patty with cheddar cheese, grilled onions and Eggy's sauce on grilled pumpernickel rye; Eggy's burger, two beef patties with cheddar cheese, pastrami, lettuce, tomato, onion, Eggy's sauce and one scrambled egg on a toasted bun; and a Club Sandwich with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cheese and herb aioli on toasted white bread. Wash it all down with fresh squeezed orange juice, a chocolate shake and a strawberry smoothie.

Eggy's Diner was our final meal in Chicago on Sunday morning. My family and I stayed in Chicago for nearly a week and we were getting a last breakfast in before doing a little shopping and then heading out to O'Hare. I have to say that we had been to 5 other breakfast places and I ordered an omelette at each one of the dining establishments. My spinach and feta omelette at Eggy's was the best. It was served fast and HOT. Also, the roasted potatoes are so incredibly yummy. Even my iced latte is worth mentioning. Overall, the experience was perfect and I will definitely revisit this restaurant in the near future.

Amazing service & food. We were looking for a brunch place and luckily found Eggys as our original plan was somewhere else that had a crazy line up outside. The service was amazing, efficient. The food was delicious. It is well worth a visit

It was fairly empty for breakfast which is what they serve. There are good options on the menu and the portions are big, but the staff/service and food was average at best. The egg dishes were extremely oily and you can taste the excess oil. The Nutella “crunchy” french toast was soggy, and i asked for my sliced bananas to be replaced by strawberries but they didn’t do that for me. I had many better breakfast during my stay in Chicago.

We live close by and love their breakfast. Their orange and grapefruit juices are fresh squeezed. We had the veggie omelet and their breakfast tacos. Their pancakes and waffles are innovative and delicious. It is a little gem of a spot hidden on the New East Side facing the lower level park. It is worth looking for and visiting as their food is delicious and their service outstanding.

I had the Crab Cakes Benny. It was a fabulous breakfast. The server was very helpful too. I am just a tourist and asked some advice on getting around and his info was very good.

Eggys should be your breakfast go to place if you are-near north millennium park. Amazing takes on the basic breakfast and lunch foods. Not to miss is the Eggys Benedict which is pulled pork ,poached eggs on a two maple waffles. Too delicious for a doggie bag.And they do take reservations!!

Overall the food was good… My daughters omelette was the best of the three things we ordered. My son and I both found the vegetables to be under cooked and crunchy. His crêpes Florentine were more like a rolled pancake than a crêpe and had a taste similar to unsweetened French toast. And perhaps that’s what kitchen was going for, but it didn’t seem like a crepe dish to us. Add crunchy onions and barely wilted spinach and I think the kitchen was just trying to move too fast and didn’t pay attention to the cook time on those vegetables. My veggie skillet was also just this side of al dente with many of the vegetables basically raw. It might be a good place to go if you’re in the neighborhood but I wouldn’t make a special trip.

I had breakfast here while staying at a nearby hotel. They were excellent, well cooked, and arrived fast--and I enjoyed them. Reasonable prices. The only quibble I have is that they were BIG!

Saw the reviews and thought we’d try Eggy’s. we were not disappointed. Great price, lovely food, lively place. The Eggy potato is something else. Only criticism was that on our visit the dishwasher had not worked properly so we received some dirty cutlery first up and coffee could have been hotter. Good service and recommended.

On a cold day you get a warm welcome. Food is cooked to order. Eggs anyway you want but other items are available, the corned beef hash is superb. Coffee is excellent staff are speedy and correct. For a rapid or a relaxed breakfast this is the place to go.

We were here for brunch and had to wait. The responsible person scheduled us after larger groups, we guess because they bring more turnover. Food was average and prices slightly too high like in most american restaurants, if you compare it to service and awareness of European ones. Room is high and loud with music playing so that no conversation is possible. This diner does not leave any remarkable impression; I cannot really recommend it.

Eggy's describes their food as urban comfort food. I describe the food as delectable. The experience was also great with good service for a quick in and out or relaxed dining. Eggy's is a quaint diner with a vast breakfast menu - mostly traditional but a few dishes with a twist. Plates are reasonably priced. Had the two eggs, sausage, and optional pancake. All were great, and the pancake was a favorite for me.

This place has the best breakfast. I absolutely loved the French toast. The coffee is delicious as well.

Eggy’s was pretty good. We had breakfast there on a cold day and it seemed like it was mostly locals. It had a small town diner vibe within 2 blocks of millennium park and the food was good. Trendy but totally on point. I’ll be back.

Stopped in for breakfast on Labor Day. It is in a very out of the way location so you may have to look a little. We ate here two years ago and liked it so four of us found our way here and had to wait about 30 minutes as this place was busy. Seating is a little cramped so if you do not like to rub shoulders with strangers, go when they are not busy. Freddy was our server and he was very polite and glad we stopped in. Told us they like to be open on Labor Day because so many other places are closed. ALL of our meals were served very quickly and correctly. Too many choices to discuss here but we had everything from eggs to waffles to biscuits and gravy to pastrami hash and you get it. Great coffee too. The whole experience was well worth the decision to go. And yes, this is a go to place in my book.

..and they have food, not just for breakfast, too. A big breakfast, made well, in nice big room, with good music and on my favorite little park in Chicago.

We visited this place which isn’t far from cloud gate about a 10 minute walk. We had 2 eggs with bacon and pancakes and an omelette. Both were brilliant and not expensive. They have a good choice of items catering for all tastes.

By the time we arrived around 10am on a very cold and windy Saturday morning, the place was standing room only, and I waited to enter in my name for nearly 30 minutes. Was waaay busier than what you see on Google. At least one person jumped in front of us, it was a madhouse and very chaotic. When we got our name in, their system gave us a text message to check our wait. We were 10th in line. Being able to see our progress helped a bit. We were seated about a hour after arrival. Excellent menu. Wife ordered poutine, I got breakfast burrito. Both were very good. The maple sausage links were a pleasantly surprising choice. The breakfast potatoes were not so pleasant a choice. The tables are close together, so be prepared for conversations to bleed over from table to table. But we were there to eat, not talk. You get the idea. All in all, a good breakfast, but probably wouldn't return.

Excellent food quality and service ⭐️ Very very efficient love the coffeee and cups !! Great place to start a day!! The staff were present and attentive !

A great find and popular with the locals. Not to far off the main roads and next to a fresh food market. Service was efficient and you’re not rushed. I went twice during my visit to Chicago and was not disappointed either time. I took some American friends the 2nd time and they were impressed. The portions are generous. The coffee was pretty good too. Despite its popularity the noise levels were moderate so you could have a conversation, which in some of the other places I visited was a challenge.

Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day... and every time I visit Chicago, Eggy’s is a must! Comfort food at its best, this restaurant delivers large portions and great taste. Try anything... It’s all great. We really like the gyro skillet, it’s amazing! It’s located near a beautiful, quiet park. The restaurant is clean, the service is great, and the atmosphere is inviting. It’s a friendly place with great food that I highly recommend!

Discovered this gem right around the corner from our hotel (Hyatt) and started our day off right !!! I had the Mexican Skillet, which was tasty and the Eggy’s Breakfast Sandwich was hit with the family

A lovely place to have a traditional American style breakfast with fab choices and selections. Their signature Bloody Mary is amazing. This place gets very busy and popular so make a reservation using Yelp app if looking for 11.30-1pm. Food portions are a good size and great selections.

had a great breakfast here - 20 min wait, but no big deal - was an easy walk from our hotel at the raddison blu - coffee was aweseome - small diner, lot of personality - simple, good food - loved it all - would definitely dine here again and actually tried to go to a late lunch here but they close early Delicious!

This place is in the shadow of our hotel (Radisson Blu). After a walk down a large number steps, there is a really nice park in the midst of the high rises. That is where we've been taking our dog while staying here. Eggy's is on the edge and has picnic tables across from the park. We ordered to go and got our food quickly. The portions were large and the dishes (The Verb and Green Eggs and Ham) were delicious. The Verb came with potatoes that were wonderfully crunch on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The pancake that my girlfriend got with her meal was also large and fluffy.

This is one of those hidden gem restaurants in Chicago. It is tucked away - so you need to really seek it out to enjoy this one. We had a great breakfast in this small little restaurant. I enjoyed my florentine crepe. The server was also very pleasant.

Excellent food, delish coffee (with a mini thermos placed on your table for quick refills), outstanding service, and a wide-ranging menu. I couldn't ask for more. I ate the Spanish Omelette (just the right amount of fire/heat!) with a side salad and both were excellent! The portions were generous and filling. A friend ordered the Nutella Crepes and they were beautifully presented. My other friend ordered the Potene (sp?), eggs with a portion of gravy served on a mountain of French fries. The coffee was served hot and you can request a little pitcher of milk/cream as well. Our server (name?) was super nice and efficient. We just beat the lunch crowd and every table was taken with a line out the door (no surprise). Thank you Chef & Team, we appreciated all you did for us! Patrick Shaughnessy Chicago, IL

Food is average. I took the American skillet, huge portion but far too greasy. I felt sick most of the day. My partner tried the egg Bénédicte and said they were ok. The reason for the 2 is: the restaurant was quite empty and we were sitted on a tiny table for 2, with not enough room for the dishes and by the waiters working station. And when another couple came in, they brought them to the table next to us, 1 foot apart. On that table I had put a plate with a pancake as there was no room on our table. Despite this, she continued to put the menus for the 2 new patrons on that table. I do not recommend and it was also not that easy to find.

First time here. The food was tasty and the portions were large enough for us to share. Food rates as very good but service was average to poor. Our server promptly dropped of waters for us. You order via a QR code. The food was brought and we never saw our server again. No refills, how are we doing, would you like anything else? - zip, zilch, nadda. The place wasn’t busy yet so I don’t think our server was overwhelmed. Oh well, on to the next restaurant.

Loved the three times we went to Eggy's. Our family recommended going as we were staying in their condo near by. Food big portions and arrived quickly. We took home food on the three occasions. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyable place with nice atmosphere. Wish we had one nearby.

We found this diner whilst searching various sites for breakfast ideas near to the loop. As you’ll read from other reviews this diner is tucked away but truly worth the search. If approaching from E Randolph street follow the signs through the food complex, into the building all the way down the escalators to the lowest level then out the door you’re there. You see nice and easy :) We visited twice during our week stay in the city, the first as a couple and the next visit as a group of 5. On both occasions we were seated quickly by the friendly team that work here. The breakfast choices are endless and I think there is something for everyone, during our two visits I enjoyed both the crab cake Benedict and the pancakes with eggs and bacon with a fruit side order. We were also provided with plenty of coffee to kickstart our day. The whole group enjoyed the food we ordered and I will definitely visit again on our next trip to Chicago. We also found it good in terms of pricing and in line with other places we visited.

Recently landed in Chicago and found this place as it was close to our hotel. Looking at reviews for other breakfast places and it’s not even in the top ten.. something wrong there.. The food is plentiful both in quantity and choice. Staff are friendly and accommodating to changes in menu requests. It’s a very typical American diner and it’s fantastic.. reasonably priced and th food is excellent. Never had a better breakfasts start to my day. If you are in Chicago and you don’t try this diner you have missed out. Excellent

We visited Eggys for breakfast and were very happy with the food choices, quality of food and service! Would highly recommend.

The perfect breakfast brunch Diner. Generous portions of classic American food. We recommend the skillet’s and French toast! Washed down with a big mug of Eggy’s own coffee👌

We ended up here after being quoted an hour and a half wait for another nearby brunch spot (and no one is worth that sort of wait, sorry). Excellent portions for the price and those breakfast potatoes are outstanding. Good coffee, plenty of choice on the menu, though my omelet was a tad too runny for my taste. I regretted the pancake it came with, though, as it was far too sweet for me to take more than a few bites (I blame it on the fake syrup). Would definitely try them again.

We loved the diner feel of this place! The food was delicious and quick. The staff was very friendly.

Stopped here for a nice Sunday breakfast. It was encouraging that the place was packed. I enjoyed a good classic American breakfast.

Ordered crepes with fruit. Three crepes with lots of banana and strawberries. Whipped cream too. Waiter was good.

We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel for 2 nights before we started our journey down Route 66. Had our breakfast on both mornings. You can get everything you would want in a breakfast diner. Excellent service & food.

While the area might initially look more like a business district at first the main park is only a few steps away, so this is a handy restaurant especially for breakfast. The menu is huge and if you use the online option there’s useful photos to assist the difficult choice of only picking one dish! The service is fast and friendly and there’s plenty to admire in the clean decor with the tables not being too cramped. It’s a shame there weren’t any proactive offers of coffee refills but the portion sizes with the food was great for the price without being overbearing. I’d certainly return and it was one of the best breakfasts I had in the centre of the city during my stay, so I’d recommend as a start to the day before exploring round the park.

We stumbled across Eggy's Diner after discovering it would be almost a two hour wait at another establishment nearby. It was a nice day and worth the extra few minutes of walking and only a 30 minute wait. We were surprised to see a bar menu for breakfast but certainly didn't complain. The portions were large and the prices were very reasonable. There were four in our party and we all enjoyed our food. We enjoyed a short walk over to Millenium Park after we ate which was perfect. We will definitely return.

We went here on our recent trip to Chicago. Everything was fantastic, we had mimosas to start with then enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The potatoes are fantastic! A bit out of the way but totally worth it. Highly recommend.

Comfortable setting, sit at the bar with access to everything. Excellent/quick service. Hot coffee & cold fresh juice. Awesome breakfast with big portions. Friendly staff, excellent comfort food!

We ate at Eggy’s this weekend before the big rugby match held at solider field. Eggys is located in a great neighborhood, has excellent food, and friendly staff. The only thing that I didn’t love is that they automatically add a 20% tip to the bill. Our server was super busy and did a great job, so she would have received a 20% tip from us, but it would have been left in cash.

This is a great breakfast place with a friendly atmosphere and staff , great prices , loved the look of the restaurant, clean and tidy, great service . Well worth a try

Nice, cozy neighborhood breakfast place. Can get busy so go early. The menu is fairly extensive, and the prices are very reasonable. Great service!

Best breakfast we had in Chicago. Wildberry food was good but very loud indoors. George’s was good basic diner food in Oak Park. Eggy’s near millennium park was worth the walk.

Small, crowded restaurant. Staff was pleasant but our waitress was average. Food was very good and unique.

Exactly what we needed after a late night and a long morning. Food was fantastic but the homemade bloody Mary’s were right on point. We had pancakes and breakfast sandwich.

Great fun diner. Big American portions of good American diner food. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

The potion of food is very big and the price is reasonable. The waiting line is vey line for the labor day weekend brunch. We have wait about 90 minutes. It is in the park, and you can enjoy your walk while waiting for your seats.

Not the easiest place to find, buried in the bottom of the AON tower complex, this joint makes a superb breakfast. There are gluten free options.

Hidden away restaurant/diner. Popular with positive atmosphere. Lovely selection of items. Huge portions. Definitely recommend pancakes & the crab cakes with hollandaise sauce.

Now have a tough breakfast decision when in town. My old friend and usual spot is closed Monday /Tuesday so had to take chance elsewhere. What a find. Staff was awesome, food was fast delicious with good portions especially for the price. But the true test of a breakfast place’s metal is of course the coffee. I’d give Eggy’s 10 star if it were possible. Strong bold cup of coffee and best of all you are provide a self serve mini Thermos pot. No empty cup and always hot! Love this! Great job Egg’s team. Just a heads up the place is a little tricky to find if you are not familiar with the area. Just use a map app to get to their front door right outside very cool mini pocket park - Lakeshore Park East.

This is a sweet little dinner tucker away between building. Often overlooked because of it's location however for those who know about it's quite the treat. The service is good, fast and you get a good solid breakfast. They even offer my favorite Mimosa and they re pretty hardy. While most are waiting 2 hours for a popular breakfast spot around the corner this is a saving grace to fine with no sacrifice on quality or service. I work in the area and when tourist see my work ID they ask for the secret breakfast location. This is definitely a winner!

My family and I loved Eggy's so much on our recent trip to Chicago, we went back a second time. Unlike other breakfast places in Chicago, we never had to wait to get a table. The employees are friendly and warm. They put an extra carafe of coffee on the table so you never have to wait for a refill. The food is delicious! The eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked and they have the most amazing potatoes I have ever eaten. I wish I could have taken Eggy's home with me.

Great food, and the Super Freindly staff was amazing! Our food was out quickly, and was perfect. Definitely a hidden gem.

We were quoted an hour wait but only took about 20 minutes. We tried the Eggy’s Benedict and it was delicious! More than enough for 2 people, did not disappoint. I also got a strawberry mimosa. Server was great and food was quick for as packed as it was :)

Great selection and atmosphere, friendly and timely service, huge portions. We were quickly seated and served, and the food was delicious!

Terrible service. Waited 1/2 an hour for our check and then was handed the wrong check and had to sort it out at the front. I know it’s a hard time in the device industry, but this was unacceptable for. $20 meal of French toast and coffee.

Chose this place randomly from a list of good bkfst places. Do yourself a favor and get on the waitlist. It's small, very popular and there is always a line outside the door. Inside it is lively and fun. Huge menu of bkfst/lunch options. I had Crabs Benny and my hubby had Gyros Skillet. Both served piping hot and enormous portions that neither of us could finish. The coffee was good. I lusted after other diners omelettes, French Toast, Chicken and Waffles and Banana Pecan Pancakes. I don't think you can go wrong at Eggys.

The staff was incredibly friendly and the environment was lovely and laid back. The dinner was wonderful and the service was cheerful and efficient. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, and portions were ample. It's the ideal location for a laid-back evening out or a casual supper. I will most certainly return the next time I'm in the area; I heartily suggest it to anyone searching for delicious meals in a welcoming setting!

Enjoyed the pastrami hash, a creative item, my wife enjoyed the Nutella crepes with bananas and strawberries. They also have sandwiches for lunch and a bar with brunch beverages. It is a little difficult to find for visitors to Chicago but worth the effort.

This is our second visit and breakfast did not disappoint. We were there as a family and everyone enjoyed what they ordered, including breakfast and lunch dishes. There’s always a wait but we spent the time walking the neighborhood which is lovely. Definitely recommend checking this out for a great breakfast in Chicago. Oh, and if you’re a coffee drinker the coffee was wonderful!

We stopped by because our AirBnB host recommended Eggy´s Diner. That was definately a great idea. The food was fresh and very delicious. We would come back

Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time! Also had a Mocha martini with breakfast that was delicious! Had the tacos breakfast and it was so delicious! The staff was fabulous also! Good gluten free options noted for those who need that!

On a recent stay in Chicago, we had breakfast at Eggy's Diner. It is a great family diner offering many breakfast choices, and the coffee is delicious. Food and service were both very good. It is not easy to find, as it is below a Mariano's, but it is in a great location in the city. If you are on the go and looking for an inexpensive choice for breakfast, you will love Eggy's Diner.

My fiancee and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Eggy's today. Loved it. We highly recommend it. Excellent service

Great place for breakfast, portions are great and prices are good. Delicious coffee and friendly staff. Large menu with lots of options.

Kind of stumbled upon this place on Mother's Day. Peurco Picante Skillet was great! Not too spicy either.

I found Eggys diner after not being to excited about another local establishment (Miss Ricky's). Before I finished my first cup of coffee there I was already searching for another breakfast option. Too soon to decide, maybe, but I wasn't getting any warm and fuzzy's). I decided to take a walk to Eggy's. Not surprisingly, there was an hour wait to be seated. Surprisingly, there I was lucky enough to find a seat at the bar. I was promptly greeted and had a personal pot of decaf and a glass of water almost instantly. I ordered the Eggys crepes and crispy bacon. It was delivered surprisingly quickly. Although the crepes were a bit too 'pancake-like' they were plentiful and the crispy bacon was done to perfection. You'd be surprised what some places consider crispy bacon. Eggys diner may be a little difficult to get to (thank you Google maps) but it is worth going out of your way for. The staff operates like a well oiled......efficient and predictable. The menu has something everyone can enjoy. And the prices are not bad, by big city standards.

Eggy’s diner has traditional type diner food. I found the coffee and breakfast food to be good. I’ll definitely be back! I would note this is a particularly popular restaurant and a group larger than two people would probably have a significant wait.

We came in on a Saturday morning, the place was packed with every table full. From the time we ordered to when we got our food was less than 10 minutes. Even at that speed it was still great. Servers were friendly, will try again the next time I'm in town.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to have an early breakfast at Eggy's. It was early (7:30 AM) so the place wasn't very busy on a Sunday morning. We were seated and provided with waters and coffee. I wanted a traditional eggs benedict, but it wasn't on the menu. I asked the waiter if I could modify one of the menu versions to this and he said "of course, not a problem". My breakfast dish was great. Lightly toasted English muffins with a large amount of sliced ham, perfectly poached eggs and a creamy and slightly lemony hollandaise sauce. A dish very well done. It was accompanied with fried potatoes, which were OK, but nothing to get excited about. My breakfast partner had the biscuits and gravy with a couple of eggs in the middle. He thought the biscuits were very good (which is often not the case). The gravy was savory with a good amount of sausage and his eggs were perfectly cooked. He fancies himself as a semi-expert on B&G and rated Eggy's version very highly. The service was prompt and friendly, The prices were reasonable. The kitchen was accommodating to requests. All in all, a very nice breakfast experience. If I find myself in this area again, I would be happy to return to Eggy's for another breakfast.

Eggy’s not only has very nice service and very agreeable staff, the food is great, comes fast and the coffee was delicious. 10/10 experience, would go every week if I lived around there. Lovely people, food and place

I ordered a salada with cheese, bacon and chicken and was very tasty and good presentation. Usually diners present the food with no patterns. It costed 13 dollars with taxes. The service is also good.

Visited Eggy’s Diner for breakfast. As printed on their shirts, it’s an “urban food” establishment. Cool place, but the music was too loud for me for a diner at breakfast time. Nutella Crunchy French Toast was out of this world good! Highly recommend it. Cookies and Cream pancakes were good too, but the pancakes themselves weren’t amazing. Their potatoes are fantastic. If you’re looking strictly pancakes, Wildberry is around the corner and a better option. Also, we are a family of three and our bill was almost $100 with tip. That’s a LOT for a diner!

Efficient and fast service, tasty dishes, good atmosphere. The pastrami reuben was great. The club sandwich was fresh and delicious. Fair prices for Chicago.

Hands down - those are the best breakfast potatoes I will ever eat. Not sure of the science or the magic involved in making them but they are required for ordering if you visit this restaurant. Be prepared for a wait but it’s definitely worth it.
Cozy and quaint
Cozy little diner off the main thoroughfare. Staff was friendly and food was good. Nothing mind blowing but hearty. My boyfriend and I split an egg combo and we both left feeling full and satisfied.
