Terrible ambience, slow service & good cuisine

By 863glenng |

Restaurants are judged on ambience, service & cuisine. Ambience terrible, service slow, cuisine good

Good food, small portions, untrained staff

By 205Moose21 |

The food was good but e pensive for the size of the portion. The waitress had no idea what the cocktails were like, she couldn’t describe one of them and there are only a few on the special cocktail menu. The cocktails were great, so was the. Bartender. Service was very slow. Maybe give them a chance to train people and get the food out sooner than an hour after being seated.

Good cusine but expensive, very poor service & terrible ambience

A birthday celebration for my mother in-law and myself hosted by my husband, the restaurant was made aware of the special occasion in advance but did nothing, very disappointing. The ambience was extremely loud (worse when they added music) to the point of not be able to hear the wait staff, service was slow and irregular. The cuisine was very good but expensive, the only reason to consider a possible return.

Great Food at a New Green Lake Venue

By Henry F |

My wife and I stopped by this new restaurant near Green Lake and were happy we did. We shared the Local Lettuces salad. I tried the Black Cod and my wife the Pork Chop. Both dinners were very good. The service was a little slow, but they are new and were very busy. Would go back!

Great food and great service

Our entire family enjoyed our dinner at Eight Row. Definitely order the fried eggplant, it’s uniquely delicious!!! All of us loved our meals and the service was great! So happy our daughter picked this spot, we will be back!

Incredible flavors, drinks and vibes.

Everything was beautiful and delicious. Each dish that came out was full of complex, layered flavors. Even the more “simple” dishes like the in-house Nichols pickles made each ingredient shine. I loved the halibut ceviche, and I usually don’t like ceviche at all. The star dishes for me were the Wagyu albóndigas (not pictured because I ate them so fast!!), charred broccoli, and tres leche cake. I also appreciated the number of mocktails and non-alcoholic wines available. Highly recommend this place for a night out!

Delicious food for lunch and dinner and great atmosphere.

While visiting Seattle with friends we had a fabulous lunch at 8 Row. We all agreed that this is a restaurant we would love to take home with us. Truly creative food with well balanced flavors artfully presented. The staff were professional but relaxed and the atmosphere bright and inviting. The whole experience was such a joy that we came back for dinner for a repeat experience. They didn’t disappoint. We loved everything about the place and are already planning a return visit next trip to Seattle. Go. You will be so glad you did!!!!

We’ve had the pleasure of visiting Eight Row twice now! Each time we have been delighted by the food, staff, and the space of this restaurant! See our pictures!

A First Class Dining Experience

By Frugal-in-Frisco |

We can’t say enough about our wonderful experience at Eight Row. We came in for a family celebration on a Friday evening, and were delighted by everything from the warm atmosphere of the restaurant and friendly staff to dish after dish of amazing food — various salads, fried eggplant, pumpkin gnocchi, blackened trout, pork shoulder, and more. The Nichols pickles were a particular treat. We enjoyed the family-style service, and loved the food so much that we returned two days later for Sunday brunch! Who needs fried chicken and waffles when you can have fried rabbit and waffles?! The eggs Benedict were near perfection, and the steak and eggs were served over roasted tomatillos and duck fat refried beans. Others in our party enjoyed the duck confit pozole and the horchata pain perdu. We all shared orders of hash browns (with pickled onions, herbs, and cotija cheese) and the house-cured bacon. Suffice it to say that brunch was as good as dinner, and no one was the least bit disappointed with either meal. Eight Row is a treasure to be discovered in Seattle. We look forward to our next visit!

Amazing meals!

I had such an awesome dinner at this restaurant when I was there visiting from New York, that I had to go back for brunch the next day. The menu is amazing!!! Gorgeous space and friendly staff. The wines are very well priced. Highly recommend.

Hidden gem for all the foodies

Great farm to table food with unique flavours and a fantastic wine selection. Eight Row’s food compares to Michelin Star restaurants I have been to in London and Paris and I'm curious to see what they'll do next! On top of that, the vibe is casual and friendly, the staff is really knowledgeable and attentive. We’ll be back. Try the eggplant, the roasted cauliflower or the duck! The rhubarb crème brûlée is to die for, too.

Wonderful new discovery

This very new restaurant adjacent to Greenlake was worth the ride from Our downtown apartment. The food is inventive, fresh and beautifully crafted. From the pickles (a must petit dish) to the eggplant it is all a lovely surprise Exquisite fish preparations The dining room is spacious and easy on noise levels. Service is perky and knowledgeable I’d add some lower level lamp lighting to improve the warmth Otherwise five stars

Simply outstanding!

We had a party of eight (coincidence) and to be completely honest - every single dish was delicious! We shared everything from the amazing pumpkin gnocchi to the crazy food delicata squash to the rockfish ceviche to the whole trout. Great food and equally great service! Kudos to Eight Row! We’ll be back!

Impressed our Midwest guests!

Our go to restaurant for celebrations! We had family visiting from out of town and I wanted them to experience locally sourced PNW cuisine, I knew Eight Row would meet the criteria. As usual, the meal was excellent and the service was superb. Staff is friendly yet professional and they know their menu to help guide choices. The presentation is beautiful, I love the family style presentation, it all adds to the festiveness. We highly recommend Eight Row!

Delicious brunch

By Matteo B |

Eight Row's brunch was delicious, tasty, and filling. I went there with my family (2 kids) and enjoyed their family style fixed menu. They didn't even charge my 3 yo! The charred broccoli were out of this world, waffles were good, steak and eggs were perfect. Initially we thought it would not be enough food, but we were totally full at the end, so much so that I didn't even order dessert, which is rare for me :) On top of that service was super nice and welcoming. I'll be back for dinner but I 100% recommend it for brunch!

Chefs Tasting Menu Was a Hit!

By Heylovetotravel |

We had a memorable experience at Eight Row on our first visit! We seek out tasting menus around the area that will accommodate my vegetarian preferences. Eight Row provided exceptional hospitality throughout our meal, the menu is full of unique flavors and each course is thoughtfully presented. Besides the amazing food, we were impressed with their wine list. Many varietals that we love, and rarely see on a menu. Kudos to the Sommelier. Dessert didn't quite meet our expectations, but it didn't overshadow the overall positive experience. They were also rather small portions, but it's fantastic that we left feeling satisfied without that heavy, overindulgent feeling. Eight Row is a place worth revisiting for another delightful culinary adventure! Already making a date to go again.

What a great find!

While visiting Seattle with family we had an excellent dinner here. The food is very creative and delicious. Service is wonderful. The atmosphere is very well done AND no music so it was beyond relaxing. Everything we had was great - they do change their menu though.

Glad we got in last call

Excellent service paired with creative and delicious food made for a wonderful evening. The bibb lettuce salad and duck tostada were exceptional!

New Restaurant in Green Lake

By Kate S |

Eight Row is chef David Nichol's first solo venture and it is already solid. Nichols has put together a team that is eager to please and share good food. "Eight Row" is a shout out to the system used to grade fresh cherries, and an homage to Nichol's family orchard in Wenatchee. The farm to restaurant theme is seen in the menu as well as the jars of canned, pickled, and fermented foods used in the decor. The cuisine is officially Pan American, but I'd call it "Northwest Fresh." There are Mexican and Central American influences in many dishes. We have visited several times and enjoyed well prepared and beautifully presented dishes. On our first visit, we asked our server for advice, and he said, "Try the eggplant." It was a novel preparation and delicious. Many restaurants spare little effort on the dessert menu, but Eight Row offers updated versions of panna cotta, excellent pie, and a chocolate/toffee number that is delicious. The servings are generous. The beer and spirits feature interesting regional choices and the servers are happy to tell you about them. Green Lake is a neighborhood that has good pub food, but has been short on fine dining. Eight Row is a great new option and definitely worth a visit.

Outstanding Dinner...

By Fasteddie350 |

So we had dined at Eight Row probably 10-12 times, pre-Civid. Then lately, with the pandemic and the shutdown, we have been taking out 2-3 times a month to help support one of our local fav restaurants. We were walking by the restaurant last weekend and the chef had a huge BBQ going, filled with all kinds of beautiful meats and chicken. The aroma just knocked you off your feet and stimulated the juices. flowing. Well, I had to order the half rack of cider glazed ribs. It was a huge order, and they were beef ribs loaded with meat. It came with brussel sprouts and kimchi. I also ordered the warm fingerling potato salad and the pull-apart rolls. YUM !!! Not only did I enjoy it that night for dinner, but had some leftover for lunch the next day. Now Eight Row is not cheap, but it does give you a big bang for your buck. It is a great value. And I will be going back very soon !!! Cheers !
