Fantastic, not really a huge sushi eater but I loved everything they brought. Kevin was great and very knowledgeable. Will definitely be back.

I’m not a sushi fan and people always say “ They’ll have other things you can eat”. Usually the ”other stuff” is mediocre at best. In this case the vegetable spring roles, edamame and teriyaki chicken were all really good. My colleagues did eat the sushi and raved about it. They said it was the best sushi in the area. They only thing they didn’t care for was the eel. Great service to top it off!

Came here for sushi, place is neat and spacious .But sushi not that great .I ordered California roll ,sushi was too small for 12 dollar ,it was not at all tasty ,Barely could taste any fish .Second was explosion roll .It tasted good and was okay .Third the waiter recommended another roll ,she kept on asking us to order that one when we wanted another explosion roll ,it looked fancy with lot of decoration but hardly had any fish in it .It had some kind of chip on top which made it look big but the roll down it was way too small .I had been to sushi places before ,but I did not like this place for sushi ,coz they make some fancy food other than sushi which is way toooo over priced

Excellent food and excellent service, you need to ask for Tina, great Sushi in a beautiful place in Atlanta

The four of us went to this restaurant last night for the first time. The atmosphere is authentic, the sushi is some of the best if not the best in Atlanta, and the service from Tina was very good. BUT whoever is in charge of the Beverages needs to reevaluate there program as it is not an asset to the restaurant. First never order a glass of wine at this restaurant. It’s the smallest pour in the city. The minimum pour in town is 6 ounces; here it’s a maximum of 4 ounces and could be less. A glass of wine here is $12 and a bottle was $40. At 4 ounces you get 6 glasses of wine per bottle and pay $72 for a bottle of wine they sell for $40. Instead of being an asset to the restaurant the Beverages become a detriment. Look your here to sell sushi and you don’t want to rip off your customers who dine here that order a glass of wine to enhance there experience dining with you. In the long run and the short run it’s just not worth the few extra dollars of profit.

Found this gem down the street my my friends apartment so we decided to try. The costumer service was excellent from the trendy personable ladies at the hostess table to the kind waiter. The waiter was very attentive and explained options in great detail. The food was excellent. We tried their happy hour drink specials and 3 for 10 appetizers. The spring rolls were great! Dragon roll was top notch. I will be back here on my next visit to ATL!!

Excellent seafood restaurant. Fine, imaginative cooking, knowledgable servers. They know what they are doing. Sushi, sashimi are fresh and good quality, but portions are too small, and the charges are high. Pricey, you can easily spend $100 per person for a full dinner.

Some of the best and reasonably priced sushi. We liked the variety of different rolls and bowls. Decent drinks also.

Went here as a solo business traveler and had the $80 gold sashimi platter. Incredibly presented and also was amazing - salmon, tuna, albacore tuna, yellow tail, whitefish and more. Having an unusually large appetite I also devoured 2 rolls which were well constructed and had right mouth feel, taste and spice The drinks are quite nice and if you are into white wine I recommend the Chablis, a beautiful French white

Outstanding service outstanding food. Vin, our waiter was very good with suggestions from the Sake to the sushi rolls to desert. Good experience, dont let the outside and location scare you off!

Food is very good. Service needs improvement , never even asked if we wanted another drink or more good at did they inquire whether we liked the food.

Every dish was impeccable. The appetizers, sushi rolls, and nagiri were amazing. My new favorite sushi place.

I came here after picking my friend up from the airport based on reviews. This place lived up to the reviews. Wow, what amazing sushi, seriously the best I've had. We ordered the explosion, dynasty and super crunch roll. We loved it all especially the dynasty roll pictured here. The staff was very friendly and I love the inside decor. I cannot wait to go back with my husband.

Found on a local search while visiting-wanted sushi. This place had creative dishes that we have not seen elsewhere. Pricing was fair- not expensive and well worth the money. We sat outside on the front patio. Then Casanova roll was delicious. Wow! The other rolls were also delicious. Would go back. Staff were nice and professional. Our waiter gave us great service and was friendly as were the entire staff. Food came out fast - we loved it. Thank you guys!

We had an excellent experience on a recent visit to eight sushi. The food was amazing every single dish we got was delicious. The Maguro bruschetta was so delicious. We had a reservation and they sat us immediately. The outdoor eating area was very comfortable they had heaters on. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food came pretty quickly. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Atlanta.

Everything about this place was absolutely AMAZING! We made a reservation for this night, we used the valet parking which was completely wonderful and convenient, and the host was extremely sweet! We ordered multiple dishes that arrived at perfectly staggered times , and all of the food was out of this world! Not to mention, our server, Sam, was as kind and professional as could be! We definitely will be telling all of our friends and family about this lovely place and can’t wait to come back next time we come to Atlanta!

Love that they have a decent sake selection and the sushi is fresh and delicious. Atmosphere is good and service is attentive. Make a reservation. As a side note, I would not try to take a group here. I tried to make a reservation for 6 and it was a little unpleasant and required a deposit. I understand the need to protect your business, but it complicated things for the situation and I will not attempt to take more than three people with me in the future.

Excellent sushi and dessert. Dinner with family, 2 daughters and spouse. Nearby parking and valet available. Quick service.

As good as advertised. Sushi was fresh and tasty and the ramen soup was the best I ever had. Nice trendy vibe with lots of young attractive people.

Unique and interesting combination of flavors . Good service this time and excellent sushi. Will return again

Best sushi in Atlanta! Every single dish is simply delicious. So many layers of flavor to each bite. Dinner is an experience

This is one of my all time favorite sushi restaurants. The variety and preparations are amazing , the service is untouchable. The staff is wonderful. The price keeps me from coming more often, sushi is never inexpensive unfortunately Eight is at the high end of the price ranges. Parking is easy access. The location for me really works well.

4.9, it is just amazing how creativty they are, how tasty is the food, and how warm are the people, it has been a amazing experince to do omakaze with the chef owner. He explained all the process and wah when i get in your month it is an explosion of flavor. Hands down the best omakaze it did for the last 10 years

Daniel was our server and he was sooo informative about the menu and very attentive. The Ramen was the best we've ever had by far and the Manhattan roll is to die for!

Very nice place. Easy parking. Great food. A total one off menu. We have been 3 times already and has gotten better everytime

Best Sushi I have ever experienced. I order the Diamond Sashimi platter and I was amazing and beautifully presented. We ordered three appetizers and they were also excellent. The Casanova sushi roll was heavenly. I do not like to repeat restaurants when visiting new cities but this will definitely be a repeat. Oh no, don’t do

Business dinner and was looking for a relaxed environment with good quality cuisine. Eight Sushi Lounge delivered. Nigiri was on the smaller side, but 2 to an order and executed exceptionally well. They do have a heavy hand on the sauces, which is less authentic, but delivered an exceptional flavor. Service was outstanding. Thanks for a great experience.

I took my best friend here for her birthday. We had 4 rolls and calamari. Amazing sushi! And fabulous drinks!

Not only was the menu and sushi amazing but our server was extremely well trained on the complete menu. Not only had he tried it all but he was able answer all questions without skipping a beat. What a wonderful restaurant.

Very exciting and unusual Sushi Cuisine. Take regular sushi and add different delicate and delectable sauces/additions to each and they are exquisite. be prepared for an unusual sushi dinner, with exquisite service on top. That goes for the rolls as well as the Nigiri. Go with the right expectation that this is traditional sushi stepped up a few notches and you will enjoy.

Great food. Crispy tuna and pork dumplings were amazing. Rolls were great too. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. Drinks took a long time to be delivered... waiter seemed overwhelmed with all the tables he had to rage care if, but in grout was a good service.

My mother husband and I came here because the photos of the food were gorgeous. It's worth the money. The drinks were wonderful, the food delicious and beautiful. The only sour note was the giant table of cackling twenty something's that ruined the setting of the restaurant. They should rethink where to out large parties like that. Definitely try this place.

I’ve always thought that sushi was just okay.... but once we discovered Eight Sushi Lounge, my husband and I only come here for sushi (an hour and a half away) because nothing else compares!! We haven’t had anything that wasn’t perfectly prepared. You can’t go wrong!

Found this amazing restaurant here on TripAdvisor. Needed to sit and enjoy good food after a lovely day at the zoo! Our waiter Kevin was perfect. He guided us with what to order. We ordered appetizers and a mixture of cooked and raw rolls and of course we had to finish the sweet treats!

Eight has a really good selection of small plates. The sushi and sashimi selection is always great, along with the presentation. BUT, the Lobster Ramen is the reason to visit (and return).

I had a late lunch here on a weekday after running several errands and decided to pop in for a bite realizing I hadn’t eaten anything all day. Staff was super friendly. The restaurant itself had a good vibe. Dimly lit, soft music, relaxing. Not a fan of the decor, looks like it was designed from an ikea catalog. Just not my taste. Anywho, ordered wine, ordered beer, several entrees. Nigiri, rolls, and a hot plate. I like to try many things at once when it’s my first time dining somewhere. Food was good, not great, just good. My rolls and nigiri were delivered to my table room temp. My biggest pet peeve at sushi restaurants. I still ate most of it. Taste was good just wish it was colder. Not bad for sushi in Atlanta, although that’s not saying much.

We loved the warmness of the wood combined with the overall sleek vibe of Eight. The rolls are works of art and every detail appears carefully thought out in the presentation of the dishes including slate plates, the server pouring soy sauce from a tea pot and flowers garnishing one of our rolls. The appearance of the food was surpassed only by the flavors. The tuna tartare had the perfect amount of “heat.” The Dynasty roll was awesome, we liked it so much we ordered a second roll. Our only disappointment was the Explosion roll. It came out last, and well, there was nothing “wrong” with it, it just didn’t compare in our opinions with the other two dishes. We would highly recommend Eight. We hit the restaurant shortly after it opened for lunch as we predicted it typically is SRO. Valet parking is $3.00.

Absolutely delicious food and drinks. The staff are so awesome and make the beat recommendations. Splurge and go for the nigiri!

My loveliness and I were visiting the city and decided to take a leap and try this place out. It was a better experience than I expected it would be. It was cool inside with an elegant atmosphere but still laid back. The service was decent, our server was maybe not having the best day, you'd have to be there to know, but otherwise everyone was friendly, the service was quick and everything was delicious. Well, almost everything. The calamari ringlets were nice, to start, then we ordered up the Explosion and Manhattan rolls, as well as, the bagel roll which I had them do tempura style. The Explosion Roll wasn't horrible but it just reminded me more of gyoza dumplings, of which I am not the greatest fan. But in the end, it was all good time sushi and I appreciated the way they accommodate certain requests.

My DNL and son treated me to the very best bday gift ever by taking me to this resturant. First, there was a parking deck very close by with an option to self park or vallet. Next, although from the outside the resturant looked quite dark, once we entered it was light, spacious and inviting. The service was on point, and the sushi was absolutely the best. I enjoyed the presentation more than anything. The two rolls I remember out of the 4 were the velvet and dynasty. We had two apps that were really good! You have to try the shrimp app. I could have ordered as part of my entree. Can not wait to return!!!!

Service was outstanding, food to die for and sake was awesome. Our waiter with the funny mohawk was amazing he knew every dish by heart. We definitely felt well taking care of.

Really cool sushi restaurant in mid town Atlanta. Not your typical sushi fare, really creative and different dishes. Well worth a visit - great food and great ambiance.

Took my daughter. We admit that we are sushi snobs. First, the great. The service was amazing. We never felt rushed and we never felt ignored. Literally, perfect. Our waiter was knowledgeable and his recommendations were spot on. The presentation of the food is second to none. I don’t take pics of my food, but I made an exception here. Wow. Very artful and well thought out. Second, the good. The food was very good. Not great, but very good. The only reason this isn’t a 5 star rating is that the food was good not OMG. Third, the bad. Absolutely nothing! Even the valet was amazingly convenient. A wonderful night with my daughter, that we will definitely do again!

Great food and service. The owner is always onsite and welcoming her guests. I would recommend Eight Sushi Lounge for a fun date night or even family outing.

Ate here when accompanying my wife on a business trip. Had a mix of starters, rolls and ngiri, which other than the tasteless tuna tartare--all the more surprising since the toro, maguro and tuna crunch, which the restaurant graciously replaced the tartare with were all great)--were all good to excellent. I'd generally choose the ngiri over the rolls, which were good but a bit on the busy side. Service was pleasant and competent, although I'm always a bit suspicious of sushi restaurants which don't want to supply soy sauce because the chefs think that they are perfect as delivered. Nice space with an attractive, diverse crowd. Not the greatest value--we spent $270 with just a $27 bottle of sake (n.b. no house sake)--but if you have a yen for sushi and aren't cost-sensitive, even though there's no ocean in sight, this is really solid.

For the record I’ve been to Umi, Nobu, and many many Michelin Star Restaurants globally. However, for the price point, atmosphere, quality of food, and ease....Eight is hands down my favorite sushi place!

If you love sushi, and not afraid to experiment, Eight Sushi is for you. The food is absolutely delicious. I have had two birthday dinners there....back to back. There is something for everyone.

We ate there last night and based on the reviews, we must have gone to another place. 4th best restaurant in the ATL is impossible. Probably 50th. I would have just told the manager but not available. Food was average at best and we sat at the sushi bar. Had drinks at the small bar, average and not attentive. Cheap wine with small pour. Told the bartender, told the host, told the waiter, my wife's birthday...all dressed like they all rolled out of bed, couldnt care less. For about 15 minutes a fire alarm was going on and off so we couldnt talk. I get it, it happens. We both worked at restaurants years ago. But did the waiter, manager or whoever just swing around and say sorry, nope. Ended up spending $200 plus tips and both my wife and I had stomach issues in the middle of the night.

I can’t say enough great things about eight sushi lounge. We ordered tuna crisp, edamame, three sushi rolls and cocktails. Everything was fantastic. The Casanova roll is spectacular. It’s topped with a seared scallop and melts in your mouth. We would definitely return.

A great place for lunch. We had a variety of Tuna sushi. Great service and easy parking in the deck (valet).

I loveeeee this place! This was the best sushi and sake I’ve had in my life!!! The sushi had sooo much flavor! It was amazing! The sake was incredible! Our waiter was very nice and extremely helpful! I can’t wait to go back!

Expertly crafted sushi and fantastic service. We are long-time fans of their sister restaurant, Rice near Lake Lanier. Tremendous experience and great value.

We parked via valet $3.00 Wendy was our server and from the start she was attentive , quick, helpful, knowledgeable of menu and ever so accommodating (with help from chef) for our odd requests! Wendy probably hasn’t been so ready to see patrons exiting LOL !! We had calamari, spring rolls and tuna crisps to start!! All excellent especially the tuna crisps ! There were only three of us but no one wanted to share! Miso soup was good. The rolls ordered were, hashtag, red samurai, smooth talker, island breeze, explosion, windmill and another I can’t remember at the moment! All were sooooo good! We had two explosions! I had seared scallops with white rice and it was a great dish being I don’t eat much sushi . Dessert was a matcha cheesecake and banana tarte both thoroughly enjoyable! We will definitely be back!! Well worth the drive and our tab after all we ordered!! We tipped Wendy and valet well !! For all you non tippers that’d be 30% ... still maybe not enough for what we make servers endure 😂

Highly recommend this restaurant. The only thing better than the food was the service. It was not totally extravagant even though I splurged on the Foie Gras, Waygu Beef and Yellowtail. Next time I am in Atlanta, I will plan to make a special trip hear again. The chefs were perfectionists. Sit at the bar for if you are alone. Good vibe. And I like bed the miso soup!

I've dined here a number of times since Eight Sushi Lounge opened. I feel like they have really stepped up their game, the rolls and nigiri were craft-fully prepared with great flavor. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. They seem to have an army of sushi chef's behind the counter so the orders came out very quickly. I would recommend calling the restaurant for a reservation if open table doesn't show one. Can't wait to go back.

I recently visited Eight Sushi Lounge for the first time as part of a small group celebrating a friend's birthday. We ordered MANY appetizers and dishes, but when my main course came out (Wagyu beef), it was raw and inedible. I alerted the waiter to the problem; he, in turn, alerted the manager and owner and everyone went out of their way to make me a pleased customer. What could have been a "one and done" experience became a very positive one because of the staff's concern. For that reason -- and the fact that everything else was quite tasty -- I will visit this restaurant again. (We were not charged for my meal, which I did not eat.)

We went as a family of 4: me, my wife, and 2 small children. It was my wife’s birthday and we thought sushi would be the perfect end to a wonderful day spent in ATL. Eight Sushi Lounge did not disappoint! The food was wonderful! Even my kids enjoyed their “Pork Ramen” made non-spicy, finishing the entire bowl! Our host, Jason, played a tremendous part in making our evening a success. He made several recommendations based on our tastes, and most of all he was patient. You could tell he knew the restaurant and the food very well. We would definitely go back there for dinner if the opportunity presented itself. What a great experience! Thanks Jason!!

Huge fan!!! The staff is friendly and food is excellent. Their truffled tuna crisp is amazing. Henri is awesome at the sushi bar. -Richard Tang

What a great new sushi restaurant! It's extremely authentic and I love that they brought our tools out at separate times. I say that because I took a customer there who loves sushi and for 2 people we had multiple rolls. The table was never crowded and the sushi came out like a different course. The one thing to know is the address is Howell Mill Rd, but that's not the case at all.

One of the best Sushi Restaurant we’ve ever visited. Sushi was fresh and prepared to perfection! The staff was AWESOME and very helpful. Will definitely be planning a return visit very soon!

We have a fantastic meal every time we go. Very creative and tasty rolls. Reasonably priced for what you get.

A great restaurant in Atl. The service is very good. I’ve ate here twice so far and both times everything was very good. Sushi looks and tastes very fresh. I would recommend making reservations. We will be back.

I travel weekly and I’ve spent time in many different cities and truly believe eight sushi is the best sushi I have ever had. The wait staff of have great knowledge of all the offerings and the creative combinations along with absolute freshness of fish are truly impressive.

Very fresh fish, amazing wagu beef, and best miso Seabass ever! Service was good. Music a little too loud

This is the best sushi I have had in a LONG time. It was absolutely delicious! And the drinks are fabulous!!

I recently had a friend and colleague in town and we decided on sushi for dinner. Since he was staying in Midtown we decided on a sushi restaurant nearby and located Eight in west Midtown. Upon entering the first impression is that it is upscale and loud. Wonderful interior decor and an all Asian staff. We were promptly seated and treated to an extraordinary sushi meal. Our server was busy but remained polite, explained the menu and assisted us with the comprehensive sake selections. On the not so positive side this place is noisy and the tables are too close together for personal conversation. We could hardly hear each other over the noise. Other than that it was a marvelous meal in a hot and trendy area in downtown (Midtown) Atlanta. There is parking nearby in a deck but it was not free nor is there valet. \ Overall, as a long time sushi eater this was one of the best sushi meals I have had in Atlanta. Highly recommend this place but not if you need to converse with your dinner partner.

Absolutely amazing sushi. And the service was phenomenal. If I'm ever in the area again I will come back. Definitely a great experience.

great design great service best yet, great food with an originality that I have never seen before in a Sushi restaurant the choices are far more varied that usual you can make your own subtle changes and they respond their beverage list is extensive for varied sake to hard liqueur to very good wine selection all in all a great addition and surprise to the Atlanta food scene

I visited with Eight Sushi for the first time and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I went on a Tuesday Night and there was a "Happy Hour" like menu with delicious sushi rolls for the low.

The food and cocktails were absolutely fantastic! From the appetizers to rolls everything was great. The tuna crisp is outstanding! It's a tuna carpaccio on a light crispy crust with truffle oil. Another favorite was the kampachi serrano with cilantro oil and frozen ponzu ice! As far as rolls go the explosion roll was spicy and tasty. There's not a single item that I felt wasn't a 9 or 10 out of 10. This is now my go-to place for sushi!

I love going to this restaurant. The excellence with which every dish is thought out and presented, not to mention the creative combination of ingredients and delectable result, is sheer joy to one who loves good food beautifully presented and served. The atmosphere alone is worth going for. I love the interior decor - stunning natural materials used in such pleasing interesting ways. I'm lousy at being able to describe it but I absolutely revel in the swept up high end decor at this restaurant. Add to that the delicious food and attentive service and this is one of my all time favorite places to go. Besides, I can get a gin and tonic. There is a full bar and amazing mixologist for those who like artisan cocktails, but I am an old fashioned girl and stick to my tried and true. Give this sushi restaurant a try and see if you don't agree - this is the swanky version of sushi in Atlanta's fun young energy vibe Westside.

Very quaint restaurant with great sushi and fresh, tasty entrees . Nice ambience and attentive waiters and waitresses!!!

We all wanted sushi so when we looked on yelp it had good reviews so we went. The restaurant is nice. Sushi was delicious but a little pricey but worth it for sure!!

Handy is the man! It’s our FAVORITE sushi bar in Atlanta, beats MF and Umi, we always sit at the sushi bar. Handy and his chefs always customize our sushi, we like it very spicy!

best sushi ever, all sushi lovers should visit this place is amazing, the best service and the best sushi in town

I came to try this place for the first time and it was AMAZING. Excellent food, service a little bit slow but the place was packed. I’ll come back 100%

This is a great place to dine for a cute date, or if you’re just in the mood for AMAZING FOOD. Its a whole vibe, & Im definitely going back!

there's a reason one best makes reservations. This is the 3rd time we drove 100 miles to come eat here this year. Each visit, service and food is excellent. The sushi is so fresh and prepared with such attention to detail. If one is lucky, the ramen is not sold out and i don't think we have ever eaten better ramen!

I loved this place. Very nice and attentive staff. They explained everything to me and gave recommendations. I ordered almost all Nigiri. It was awesome. I probably would have preferred to not have some of the toppings because I like the taste of just the sushi without the toppings but that's okay it was a different experience and now I know next time to order without that. The Chutoro and the Otoro with Caviar and gold foil was out of this world and it's cheaper than the other high end sushi place I have been to in ATL, Umi, and the service was also much better. The people were just nicer here and that meant the most to me. I will be going back next time I go to ATL. Can't wait eat at this place again and again.

This was our 2nd time here and once again, this place did not disappoint. The Casanova roll was delicious! The nigiri was so fresh and the otoro was fabulous.

I will be the first to admit that I am a food snob!!! I don’t snack or eat sweets because I prefer to expend my caloric intake on food that is divine. EIGHT had the very best sushi. Whenever I entertain out of town guests, EIGHT is a go to. Friends and family from all over the US share my sentiment that EIGHT serves up some of the best sushi creations a palate could wish for!!!

Go to Izumi, Thai Basil Sushi Zen, or Sushiology. All worth the drive. Trust me. All of these places offer a variety of different rolls, some baked, some deep fried, all delicious. Never had a roll, nigiri, sashimi, appetizer or anything else on any of these menus that weren’t delicious. My son and I LOVE sushi. We wanted to try this place because the reviews and rating was so high. $100. 6 sushi rolls. All of it was mediocre at best. The service was lacking as well. The parking situation is not good. We drove around the block 2-3 times before we found a place to park and had to pay for parking and walk to the restaurant. Just trust me. I was incredibly disappointed in Eight Sushi. Everything about it.

I was calling on Piedmont Heart Institute and had finished my business there. It was approximately 1 o'clock in the afternoon. I decided to try this place and the only thing I looked at was pictures from TripAdvisor. I walked in there and was pleasantly surprised to see a very clean restaurant as well as a very attentive waitstaff. The sushi was the freshest I have ever had. The tuna could be sliced with a fork ! I know the next time I'm back at that hospital I know where I'm going for lunch or dinner! Try it I think you will love it

The first thing you'll notice about this high end sushi restaurant is the look of it's contemporary interior, very impressive. Although the lighting for me was too dark. The next thing you'll probably notice is the extremely high food prices, even at lunch time. Yes the menu has several innovative items, I'll give Eight Sushi that. Unfortunately, after spending $29 for three items (not including tip), I still left hungry and in sticker shock. The service was very friendly and attentive, but then again, it wasn't that crowed at lunch time. While I enjoyed the food, Eight Sushi Lounge it's just too expensive for a work lunch meal.

We love this place. If you are expecting a traditional sushi experience then you will be surprised. Eight sushi serves their own take on sushi serving every piece of nigiri with perfectly matched toppings to bring out amazing flavors that really highlight the fish. I have never had a bad piece of nigiri here. I highly recommend sitting at the bar if you come here. The sushi chefs, as well as the rest of the staff, are very fun and love to chat with the customers. Overall I consider this to be the best sushi restaurant in Atlanta

One of our diners was raised in Japan and two of the diners had recently returned from traveling in Japan… Best way I can be of service to future diners is to share comments form our table that came up during the meal: Hashtag roll: could only taste the butane from the searing. Chef held the torch too close. Amateur move. Kampachi Serrano - SUPERB. Especially the gluten free version: delicate, balanced, best thing we ordered! Many of the dishes were trying too hard (unnecessary overload of flavors). Too much going on with too little coming together. Menu designer tried too hard and chefs didn’t try hard enough. Middling experience. Especially for the cost profile. Won’t return. Won’t recommend. Too many places for much better sushi. Highlight: delightfully authentic wasabi. I have never walked away from a meal at a sushi restaurant feeling over-full without having eaten enough to actually be full. As the host, I was appalled to find that when making a reservation for 5 or more people, they require a minimum of $50 per person and a 50% credit card deposit. Given how hard it would be to spend less than $50/person as it is, it’s unnecessary and, based on the dining experience, undeservedly arrogant. After 21 years being gluten free and dining all across the Atlanta metro area, Eight Sushi Lounge is a disappointment, at best. Egregiously weak options for gluten free diners. And compete unwillingness from the kitchen to accommodate. Dishes that are gluten free can be counted twice on one hand! Any dishes that “can be made gluten free” have all sauces & creativity stripped. Far too many excellent Japanese restaurants in Atlanta offering a myriad of options for gluten free diners to dine here.

A good lunch for a small work meeting. California roll apps good & Hibachi-style shrimp with fried rice as main course was very good.

Visiting Atlanta for business & so glad we had dinner at Eight Sushi. Magnificent experience of solid high quality sushi. Flavors were incredibly delicious. Plate presentation was superb. Variety was truly enjoyable. Waiter (Andy) was well versed, explained various dishes expertly & provided friendly service. We were going to skip dessert, but really glad we didn’t. We shared & enjoyed two desserts. First a bread pudding which was light & mouthwatering. Second, apple pie, but not your ordinary pie, this was at a different level. What a fantastic line of desserts, with balanced exquisite flavors. Congratulations to management for a well run establishment & congratulations to the Executive Chef and the kitchen team. Something this good is not by accident, but by attention to detail.

6% of the population is gluten-intolerant, or has celiac disease. Which means they can't have traditional soy sauce. However, I have been to a lot of Japanese/sushi restaurants over the years, and this place totally failed at appeasing the 6% of people like myself who can't eat traditional soy sauce. This place tries too hard by making virtually all of their rolls and nigiri sushi with traditional soy sauce (uncommon), or with deep fried items (which are not gluten-free). Now, don't get me wrong. I'm sure there are many people that LOVE this type of sushi. Recommendation to management. It would be very easy to make virtually everything on your menu gluten free by using gluten-free soy sauce. Your non-gluten-free guest wouldn't know the difference. And you can use a flour other than wheat, barley, or rye flour to deep fry food. Trust me when I say that people like me will hunt places down like this if we know they are gluten free. And again, your other guests won't know the difference when you use gluten-free products in your food prep.

This sushi restaurant was among the best I've been to. The customer service was really great and the food was better than expected, coming from Albuquerque,NM I would recommend anyone coming to Atlanta to try it out.

Probably the most creative Japanese food I have ever had, makes Novy taste like fast food. Excellent service. A little noisy, but s great find in Atlanta!

A great find!!!! We didn't have a reservation so we set at the bar.... Fast friendly service! I chose the low carb roll & it was yummy! Friend had a couple of other rolls... all great quality & flavorful! Clean!

The food is sublime, fresh and flavor rich! Have been here twice and the service was great, always attentive, wonderful recommendations/suggestions. Relax and quite ambiance. Love this place, is worth the drive.

The atmosphere here is great! Cozy but open.. The food is unbelievable. My go to is the Miso Steak but I haven't had anything there I didn't like

If you love sushi then this is the spot for you!! Only been twice and each time the food was always great. The last dish I got was the Velvet which looked like it had red velvet cake sprinkled on top. Don't know exactly what it was but it was crunchy and delicious. This place is so good. The staff are always nice. I've never felt like I was forgotten even though every time I went it's always a full house. They are sweet and answer any question you may have. Went with my boyfriend the first time and he got the steak which was mouth watering and so tender he didn't need a knife. Second time was with a friend and I got the velvet. He was also able to create his own little roll with what he was use to. The price is pretty decent on some of the rolls and entrees but it can get higher in price but nothing too dramatic.

Been to a couple other sushi places in atlanta, don't have to go to any others. This place is the best. Came here 2 times in the last 2 weeks. Great sushi!!

My wife was celebrating her 40-something birthday and I looked at trip advisor to see where we should go. EIght Sushi Lounge had good reviews so I decided to make a booking to go there. We were seated promptly and our waiter Ryan was AWESOME! He explained everything to us since it was our first time and we recommend the dishes which he liked. We went three dishes. The vegetable tempura which was flash fried and not too greasy and it came with two delicious sauces. We then had the red snapper sushi which was quite delicious and had a slight kick to it. Finally, we had the Casanova Roll which was a seared scallop with crab meat and shrimp. Wow, that was DELICIOUS. It was melt in your mouth tasty and had a potpourri of flavors each hitting at different times. For dessert, we had the Banana tort with ice cream. What a way to end a fantastic meal. The tort was tasty and not sickly sweet. The resturant had a trendy vibe too it and it wasn't crazy expensive but it wasn't cheap. All in all it was a great meal. The total bill including tax and tip was just over a C note. I am excited to go back and request Ryan as my server. For a special night, this is the place to go, you won't be dissappointed.

Reservation system easy to use. Seated promptly. Service was wonderful and the food better!! Sea bass was on point. Perfect size plates. Great wine list. Staff knowledgeable and attentive. Chef went table to table greeting guests. We will be back.

Excelente , from the beginning to the end Great crew, polite, friendly. Food was amazing , and a affordable price for s Japanese’s restaurant. Strongly recommend !

I have been going to Eight Sushi Lounge since they first opened. The sushi is the best I have had ANYWHERE and I am a sushi fanatic. The presentation is outstanding and I recommend Eight Sushi Lounge above any other sushi restaurant.

The only place in ATL for Ramen! I have never been disappointed. They have much more than just sush.

We went to Eight for a graduation celebration. We had 12 people total. For a party that size, you need to call and put down a small deposit. The restaurant was prepared when we got there. Not too noisy or crammed. They had two servers working the table both were extremely nice and efficient. The food was amazing. We got a large selection of appetizers along with entrees. Most of the group had the ramen for their entrees...the lobster special and the house. The lobster was less spicy. Definitely would recommend!

Great food. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Sushi rolls are fresh and creative. The chef makes unique sauces for every type of fish served nigiri style.

A co-worker and I were looking for a really good sushi restaurant and this was the place. The price was a little high but absolutely worth it. The wait staff was super attentive and at times it felt like it was a little too much. The chefs are on point! If I come to Atlanta for work again I'm definitely going back.

This was a great place for my wife and I. The sushi selection was both diverse and different which made it difficult to choose. We had a few appetizers and a great meal, and when the menu says spicy tuna it means spicy tuna. We also had the calamari ringlets which were delicious along with three rolls which did not disappoint. Highly recommend for a date night when you are ready to splurge.

We eat here fairly regularly. The food is really good. The flavors and combinations of the various dishes are really nice. Very fresh. They have a nice cocktail list as well. They also have a happy hour in the afternoon and early evening with sushi specials.

We had a very nice waiter who give us very nice recommendations from the menu. Eight Sushi has a good blend of sophisticated - inovative dishes and classic sushis. The atmosphere of the restaurant is minimalistic. I really like it.

A bit off the beaten path but in an up and coming area of Atlanta not far from Georgia Tech. Beautifully decorated and welcoming atmosphere. Good value, excellent fresh fish. Great happy hour menu and pricing til dark. The nigiri offerings were thoughtfully created (still traditional yet with enough unique combinations of flavour through sauces etc that makes this a one of a kind delicious experience) Bread pudding (although not traditionally Japanese) is a favourite of our clan and they all gave it 5 stars! Sake sampler allowed a healthy tasting of several different styles and the restaurant did have a few very nice proprietary Sakes as well. Valet parking for 3$ right next door was cheap and convenient We highly recommend

Just stopping through the city and so glad we happened upon this gem. Hands down best sushi dinner I’ve ever had. Very nice spot great for date night but we brought our 8 year old and they were very accommodating.

Love this place. The food is delicious, ambiance amazing, prices great. Will be back for more very soon! I haven't found too many great asian food places ITP (looking for recos) so this is a plus.

Service was excellent Food was delicious Would highly recommend for a nice business lunch or dinner.

I had dinner there on 1/23/2019 with family. There is valet parking ($3) or self parking at the side, in same building. It was raining when we arrived and the valets offered us umbrellas (what a nice detail to customer attention!) since we had to walk to entrance of restaurant which is on the street. You are pleasantly surprised when you enter, modern decoration & clean. Layout is adequate, we were seated on the perimeter table. The space between tables are a bit narrow. The space lights are very dim, which makes viewing the menu a little difficult. Hostess and server were very polite & attentive. Server took order and delivered what we ordered and always with a smile. We ordered 4 rolls and they arrived within 10 minutes. The taste of rolls were good, fresh and with flavor. You didn't have to use soy sauce, since each roll had their own flavoring. I would say Japanese rolls with a modern twist (spicy, presentation,, other ingredients besides fish). Rolls are standard but on the small side, 8 pieces per roll. However the roll preparation needs improvement, needs to be firmer: the rolls with rice crumbled when picking up with chopsticks. The price vs. value received is below expectation. For the price paid, I would have expected bigger rolls in which the main ingredients would come through. We tried the following rolls: Langoustine (my favorite), Velvet, Explosion, Shinobi (had a piece of thin stake on it!). Overall we enjoyed it.

I am a non sushi eater, went he with family members and I had steak that was fork tender and a sushi roll of stuff that was cooked. Family members had several different sushi rolls and bread pudding with ice cream for dessert and they loved everything--I loved my cooked food also.

My family and I visited Eight Sushi Lounge to celebrate my wife’s birthday. My wife and children love sushi. This was the best sushi any of us have ever eaten. The atmosphere was great. The service was remarkable. The food was unbelievably amazing! I had the #hastag roll! Do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant! Simply amazing!

For the price and atmosphere - the food was by far the biggest let down. I am a true lover of seafood so whenever I see reviews on a potential new seafood restaurant or sushi bar I am immediately intrigued. The service was great but nothing I had ordered other than the sake from the amazing sommelier was enjoyable to eat. I was hoping for fresh, flavorful combinations and I wounded up with an overwhelming amount of truffle(either oil or mayonnaise) and watered down seafood. Odds are I will not returning in the future.

I’ve been to Eight Sushi Lounge five times since moving to Atlanta in October and can’t say enough about the quality of the sushi and the amazing selections on the menu. From my over-indulgent experience with sushi restaurants, Eight is as good as any I’ve eaten at and is better than Umi and Nobu. Forget about soy sauce and wasabi as everything is perfectly prepared and seasoned to highlight the unique attributes of the ingredients. Our favorites are basically everything we’ve tried: walu, blue fin, salmon, scallop, foie gras, and wagyu beef nigiri. (Yes, I know some of this is not sushi, but it is all amazing.). And the explosion roll is perhaps the best specialty roll my family has ever had. Seating and bar service is sometimes not optimal, but the servers and managers are engaging, friendly and helpful (especially Seol) and the food is in a different league to other sushi restaurants. Highly recommended!

Fabulous food, solidly competent staff. Cool modern vibe with exceptional food and great sake list and good bar staff

Eight is one of my very favorite sushi spots in town! The menu is quite broad and creative...not to mention great contacts. The warm ambience is just right for a date, or a casual dinner on a random Tuesday. I've hosted a birthday dinner there with 25 guests, and the staff was amazingly attentive. I've probably been ten times in the past two years, and they always impress. DEFINITELY GO!

I am always nervous to try new restaurants but this was by far the best restaurant experience I've ever had! Kevin, our server, was magnificent!!! The food? Every single bite was amazing!! The drinks, superb!!! It definitely made our last night in Atlanta one to remember! We just got engaged the night before and then we were celebrating my fiancé's birthday, definitely the best place to celebrate!!! 100/10 recommend or your missing out!!

Really enjoyed a late Sunday evening meal here. Menu choices were very unusual but we’re explained in detail. Sushi was very fresh and presented in photo worthy configurations. Nice selection of unusual Asian beers. Service was very good.

Despite a timely reservation, we needed to wait for 45-60 minutes before our table was ready....however: the food was terrific! Fresh, tasty, beautiful presented. Nigiri was flavored with specific herbs/seasoning which perfectly fitted the raw fish. The tuna crisp was a tasty surprise and is a true bucket list item for your diner.

Ate here for the first time. Very casual and laid back, but sophisticated vibe. Ramen bowl was fantastic! Sushi was top notch.

We came when they first opened, and haven't looked back. Nothing compares to Eight. They've taken a modern style and fused it with classic Japanese cuisine, and it's absolutely perfect. A sashimi purist such as myself will find the "Soy Cute" option absolutely delightful, while others might prefer the taste of their unique and creative rolls. Among other things, some of their best options include the Tuna Tartare, Moshi Moshi Oysters, and the Explosion Roll. Their Miso Soup is on point, as well. Also, drink-wise, try "My Neighbor's Garden." It's phenomenal, and I always end up getting two or three of them every time.

I visited Eight Sushi Lounge because of several strong recommendations. This restaurant raised the bar with Sushi/Sashimi by taking culinary risks and boy did they knock it out of the park. To start, the chefs are well trained and take great care in handling and preparing the raw fish. The assortment of mainstream and obscure fish, along with fish bellies, was extremely impressive — an assortment I have only seen in NYC, San Francisco, and Asia. The creativity of perfectly seared Wagyu or Foie Gras with Raw Uni served Nigiri style (on rice)! was spectacular to say the least. The creative cocktails and appetizers make this a very special and unique restaurant. The service was fantastic and attentive and the staff takes great price in creating a fine dining experience for the patrons. I wish I lived closer to Atlanta to frequent more often. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the world.

Very creative place. The fish was excellent. The service was fantastic. I will be back many more times. I'm looking forward to trying a lot more on the menu. Tuna tartare appetizer might be one of the best i've ever had.

Sushi elevated and an atmosphere that keeps you HYPE!! From the Velvet Sushi roll to the Miso Sea Bass what can i say ( don't wait another day visit asap). First time i wasn't disappointed by one of the dishes. The Hostesses (waiters) are educated on every aspect of the menu and really enjoy engaging with the customers. Was like being over a friends house for great food and drinks.

Very good sushi restaurant. Especially enjoyed the appetizers. The waiter was very helpful with our party of six. We had reservations and were happy that we did as the restaurant fills up fast. The location could be better but the food is great.

5/5 because this app does not allow to give 10/5!!! The service was outstanding, but the food was out of this world. We had the Gyosa, tuna tartare, and the Maitre D recommended the Langoustine!! I have to say, we like our Japanese food, but this was a great start! We followed with 4 rolls which were just fantastic. Each one distinct in flavor and very special...Kings Roll, Manhattan Roll, Hashtag Roll, and Autumn Roll. What a great experience...the restaurant is very well designed and pleasant to the eyes too.

Super service, nice ambience, food is phenomenal. Great impression in a low key environment. Couldn't take pictures - I was with clients, I promise the food is beautiful - and delicious!!

First let me say the people are most kind and the service was excellent. Also, I’m not a beginner. I like traditional sushi with fish that is amazing not dripping with sauce or fried. This was explained to our server at the beginning of the meal. We came for sushi and the rolls are either fried or a salad or both. Sushi rolls are not a “salad” (chopped fish) and in my opinion a place that must chop it, mix it, fry it, and season it... doesn’t serve fish worth eating raw. This isn’t a place I would return. I rated them poor vs terrible due to the staff. If I rated the food itself it would be a TERRIBLE rating. Like Publix sushi.

The langostine roll is out of this world. Ambiance is super sexy. Staff is great. Cant say anything wrong about this place. Highly recommended.

Good food, friendly service, a bit on the pricey side. Outside seating on a busy corner, can get a little loud.

We love Eight Sushi Lounge! The sushi is the best in town, always fresh and delicious. The dishes are so inventive, flavorful, and beautiful. The staff is friendly, professional, and so helpful. The lobster ramen is amazing!

So the six of us went here for an impromtu dinner plan and we all fell in love with the place. The ambience is nice, the service is excellent and the Sushi is definitely the best I've had in Atlanta. Our server was helpful, attentive and patient with providing recommendations. Favorites: Shinobi Roll, Explosion Roll, Westside Roll, Red Samurai Roll, Brady Roll. Must have: Blue Fin Chutoro and Sashimi Lover - It's a mixed platter of sashimi served on ice. Pretty elaborate! I would also recommend trying the naki - a Japanese whiskey. If you are a whiskey person, you will not be disasppointed

Eight Sushi Lounge turned out to be a very good place for dinner: The menu went far beyond standard, and the choices were many. The dishes were well prepared and served, and were very tasty. The ambiente is modern and relaxed.

We love any place that has ramen and sushi, but this one is our favorite in ATL. We usually stay away from the bar, but hosts and servers are all SUPER friendly. Besides the food being delicious, it's also fun to eat!

Great recommendations for appetizers, nigiri and rolls. Quality, taste, presentation - all outstanding. The saki flight was a good mini course in saki tasting. This restaurant is not a "traditional" sushi restaurant but an outstanding experience. Ask for Tina!

Went there with friends, I am a great lover of sushi a d Japanese cuisine the experience was great amazing presentation very fresh fish

Wonderful staff with good recommendations, if you're not sure what to order. Definitely a good find. We ate outside so we could people watch.

Please go to this restaurant. It’s been a long time since I haven’t had such a good meal. Amazing sushi with extremely fresh products.

One of the most amazing sushi restaurants I’ve ever been to. Good is 5 star plus. Location is ok...on a busy street corner in so so neighborhood. But the food is to die for. Had the Eclipse cocktail to start, wonderful flavor, nice burn. Serano yellowtail which was HOT to start then became manageable. Ponzu ice was a beautiful complete moment tho it melted faster than I could eat it! Had fatty tuna, onoratu and orange marlin nigiri, all were delicate, unique and paired incredibly well with the spices. I’ve never eaten sushi where the chef has spiced quite like this...truly amazing works of art. Topped off the evening with the velvet roll which was truly amazing. One of the best, most unique sushi places I’ve been to in the past 30 years. Put this place on top of a signature hotel overlooking the city and it’s in the cover of a magazine. Truly spectacular dinner.

I love good sushi and I'm picky!! Very fresh!! We loved the unique rolls and specialty cocktails. The place is pretty small, but has great style... It's not cheap... We went with another couple and dropped at least $400 or more including tip. Enjoy!

I'm not going to write a million words about this place. We'd been wanting to try this place for a while now. Finally went last night. It didn't disappoint. It was awesome. Go, you won't be sorry!

My husband and I brought our toddler here yesterday for dinner after the Aquarium. We were very impressed. Atmosphere is great and our waitress was excellent. The food was so delicious. I had an appetizer that was nothing like I’ve ever had before, I believe it was called Escolar. It was the most buttery tuna I’ve ever had, so so so good. We got our daughter lobster ramen and she loved it. Can’t say enough good things, excellent experience.

This was a great experience. Staff was nice, the sushi was awesome, & wonderful drinks. Would recommend.

When the food arrived I immediately know that this is a quality restaurant with fresh delicious food!

We had reservations so were seated right away. The staff were all friendly, except for our server, who was a bit of a snob toward those in our party who didn't know a lot about sushi. The food was beautiful and delicious. Warning - when they say an item is hot, they mean it. One item was too hot to enjoy for most of the table and one person was the only one who could finish the roll. The presentation was elegant and impressive. We will try it again when we are in ATL again.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing! the food, the ambiance and the staff are all top notch! We had a full dinner while sitting at the bar and it was fantastic. Saul & T are 2 of the best bartenders in town and made our night incredibly enjoyable. The tuna crisp is the best appetizer in town, and the specialty cocktails were all amazing.

Food was excellent. Hastag and velvet rolls were delicious. Tuna crips were awesome. The espresso martini was just ok. however, as mentioned by others, the noise level is a bit annoying. It's hard to hear people. I notified the restaurant that we were celebrating our anniversary and a birthday when I made the reservation. Noone said anything the whole night. The table was very small and the table was not set up when they sat us. So service was relatively poor.

This place is the bomb!! The service was impeccable. The food was absolutely deliciousness. Refreshing to visit a restaurant where everything exceeds expectations!

The title pretty much sums it up. We were a party of 8 and were seated promptly. We had a wonderful waiter named Kevin. He was very attentive and explained the menu items. He made some great recommendations as well. The food was delicious. Since we were family, we shared all our meals. I really enjoyed the oyster appetizers. My entree was the salmon teriyaki which was delicious! I tried a few of the rolls and each one was very good. We ended the night with a scrumptious banana dessert and a wonderful bread pudding. Some of us like the bread pudding more but I liked the banana dessert better. We had a lovely family meal!

My son and I had a long day of moving him in for college. We wanted sushi and went there rather late, 9pm. It has a trendy, hip, cool vibe. It was packed. I will say the food was great. We had shrimp tempura, Mido, sushi and a roll w/mango sauce that was beautifully presented and prepared. Service was slow, but understandable. I guess the overall noise level just made the dining experience not pleasureable. They have high ceilings w no textiles to dampen the sounds. I really wanted to have a nice conversation but couldn't even talk over everyone else around us. If you're taking a first date, this would be fun. If you're trying to go on a romantic one, or a place where you can have deep conversations, then no, not your place.

Escaping the downtown conference bubble, I found this place via local reviewers. I sat alone at the sushi bar. My server Andy walked me through the menu, I told him which things appealed to me, and he curated my order. I worked at a GOOD Japanese restaurant for years. The light sauces and seasonings elevate the typical sushi experience. Listen to your waiter and DON'T use the soy! I ordered well (a second person would've given me more things to try (like some of the wagyu/foie choices). I will say it's extraordinarily expensive for a sushi place ($125 plus tip), but still AMAZING. If you're lucky a friend will pay. $$$$

The food and experience was great. Guest safety seems to be top of mind. Ate the edamame, ramen, hashtag sushi, and bread pudding (see pictures). Edamame was typical. Ramen was better than most I’ve had. Sushi was delicious. Bread pudding was standard with a bourbon tasting ice cream. Well done!

Where do we go for dinner? Whether it is friends, family, or for business - bring them all. Eight Sushi delivers exiting, unique and consistent food experiences. Undoubtedly, the best Sushi place in Atlanta. The Explosion Role and Shrimp Saku Saku are some of my personal favorite dishes. Also, if you like them for dinner, try them for lunch. Their lunch special is insanely good and only about 13 dollars.

The Burlesque roll was the best part of the meal for sure. We had the Manhattan, the King, and the Orange is The New Black. They were pretty ok. Very noisy. I didn't really think it was the "best sushi in Atlanta" but it was decent.

The sushi here is very fresh! They offer great cooked food as well. I have never tried anything here that I didn't like. They have creative sushi offerings. They also have a great selection of saki

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant on Father’s Day. We arrived 20 minutes before opening as a group of five, including my 95-year-old mother-in-law. Despite our early arrival, the staff refused to let her sit inside to escape the heat, even though several employees were lounging at the bar. Once seated, we encountered issues with the lemonade order. It was excessively tart and tasted like soda water with lemons. When we requested a replacement with a Coke, the server insisted we had to pay for an additional drink because the lemonade was "made properly." After speaking with the manager, she explained that their lemonade is intentionally made this way and eventually brought us a Coke without an extra charge, but only as a special favor since it was for my elderly mother-in-law. I found it surprising and frustrating to have such a lengthy discussion about a drink, especially considering we had ordered $150 worth of food. The sushi was good, and the teriyaki chicken was basic. Overall, the experience was unwelcoming. I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something about us that made the staff treat us differently. This was a very disappointing experience, particularly on a special occasion like Father’s Day.

Amazing fresh fish , definitely a top spot in ATL restaurant scene . Service was very friendly knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back very soon with more friends!

We had dinner here after the show Atlanta Magic Theatre (divine!!) and it was superb! Nice ambient, packed, super cool and attentive staff, food is to die for. It goes beyond the usual roll and nigiri flavors. Would definitely recommend, as our waitress suggested, Waguy and fatty tuna nigiri, and much more! Totally worth it.

Eight was an absolutely superb sushi restaurant that hosted my colleagues and me on a steamy Tuesday night in late September while in town attending a geeky tech convention. We opted for patio seating, and after being offered a somewhat isolated table against the wall, with lighting so dreary that someone might have mistaken salmon for yellowtail, and air circulation so restrictive that we feared imminent collapse from heat exposure and lack of oxygen, I found us an ideal table for three at the other end of the patio that couldn’t have been better. It benefited from cross-ventilation from being at the crossroads of two main avenues, a nearby ceiling fan, and a wonderful hanging lamp directly above the table. We were greeted promptly and given the “Have you ever eaten at Eight before?” pitch in which we learned how the chefs were experimental in their creations and took enormous pride in their work, discouraging soy sauce-dipping as is customary in most other sushi restaurants. At first I thought it was just marketing spin, but then I realized that the quality of food here was definitely a step above others in its class. My miso soup was quite delicate, devoid of the sodium overdose I usually tolerate when I start my meal. The edamame was perfectly seasoned as well, not encrusted with salt. We then partook in a smorgasbord of riches, with miso-glazed salmon tataki, served with serrano pepper and black caviar; an explosion roll, with spicy salmon, tuna, and slightly seared yellowtail. topped with tempura crunch, masago, tobiko, and scallions; a red samurai roll, consisting of spicy tuna and cucumber, topped with layers of avocado, fresh tuna, miniature grape tomato, and serrano pepper, then dipped in sweet ponzu; ocean trout ceviche, with heirloom tomatoes, sweet red onion, avocado, and a yuzu dressing; two magnificent langoustine rolls, with pressed sushi rice, baby lobster, shrimp, crunch, masago, scallion, and truffle aioli; and finally a local favorite, the Tom Brady Roll, made from spicy yellowtail dressed two ways with spicy tuna and eel, mango sauce sweet chili sauce, and a sweet soy reduction. Our recommended sake was hot, delicious, and soul soothing. Service was punctual and educational without becoming overbearing. There was always an understandable description of what we were eating and how it was prepared. All in all, this was one of the better sushi experiences for Cherry Wonderdog in quite a long time.

Thisis the best sushi I have had in Atlanta. Went with colleagues after work. The atmosphere is hip, the drinks are solid and the sushi is fresh and imaginative.

We came here for our anniversary and sat at the bar because we did not make reservations. The bartender was AMAZING! As busy as he was he took the time to make suggestions and pretty much ordered all of our food after finding out things we liked. Everything was spot on and the food was the best!! Hands down my new favorite place!

We were looking for sushi while on vacation and came across Eight on Trip Advisor and it had such great reviews that we decided to try it. So glad we did. They don't have the traditional rolls like California, Boston, etc. so if that is what you are looking for, this isn't the place. However, their sushi is fabulous. Our waiters were so great with suggestions for our 9 yr old who is a beginner and we couldn't have been more pleased. We got the Tuna Tartare to start with and it is so good. We also went with several other rolls; Velvet, Explosion and Dynasty...all great. This place recommends that you don't use soy sauce and wasabi and we trusted them. They were right! The flavors are so good that you don't need the extras. We would have loved to have tried the Sake but, it was a family vacation with the little one and we were driving...definitely next time! It is a little on the pricey side...but worth it!
The best sushi I’ve ever had.
The best sushi I’ve ever had. Wonderful experience wonderful presentation, excellent all around! Would definitely eat here again!
