The ad in the Miami New Times says Excellent Prices, Excellent Service. This is all correct. But they left out Excellent Food. We stopped for lunch. We each had the reasonable priced lunch specials - stewed beef with potatoes and chicken and rice. Lots of home cooked food. Really, really good.

I love this place. The food is amazing and they have the best mofongo in town. It's a small place so it is very likely you'll have to wait for a table when you arrive but it's definitely worth the wait. I've had the lechón and the bistec empanizado. The rice and beans are absolutely the best as well. I could gain 100 pounds eating here. It's one of those places that you go and it reminds you of home. Authentic puertorican food. No frills just great wholesome food. The service is okay. Usually there are a couple of waiters/waitresses around and you can see that they are working hard to do their best. You may have to be a little patient but it's well worth it!

Great family restaurant!!!! Honest, hearty and real puertorican food. Everything was perfect, can get more friendly staff then this. las alcapurrias, el mofongo y el lechón riquísimos!!!! A must go. The place opens until 5 pm and it is small.

If you really enjoy Puerto Rican-Caribbean food, this is the place to go. From the appetizers to the main courses, all the options are excellent. The food is fresh and with a great taste. The average cost per person is aprox. $8.00! We were a party of six and our bill was less than $50.00! Everybody enjoyed their options and we shared from each other the different plates. Absolutely great food! If you want to be a happy camper don't miss "El Bajareque Rest."

Large portions. Dirt cheap prices. Nice people. Clean and simple place. What more could you ask for?

This is one if those places that doesn't look like much on the outside, but is neat as a pin inside and delivers extraordinary food at a great price. Perfect plantains have a smooth texture, but a thin almost crispy sweet exterior. Even the white rice is great. Eggs were cooked to perfection, I prefer halfway between over medium and over hard, and they were done exactly that way. The toast is sublime, PR bread grilled cracker thin on the grillpress. Very nice people and service. Gotta try this one.

Everything was delicious... rice, plantains, beef, pork... like being back in San Juan! We came here once before, about a year ago and it was not as good but today was delicious!

This is a small diner in a gritty part of Greater Downtown Miami. The food is authentic, the prices are reasonable and the service is friendly. This is a working class venue that caters to the lunch and early dinner crowd. If you have a craving for Puerto Rican food and aren't near Orlando or San Juan, head straight to El Bajareque. You will leave satisfied.

For those looking for something authentic and going to much out the way . Bajareque : 278 Northwest 36 Street Wynwood 33127 . (305)576-5170 Great yummy food and nice ambient With a wonderful staff ❤️ Puerto Rican Soulfood . A must have if you are in midtown. Just 2 1/2 blocks west from the Ross store on North Miami avenue and Northwest 36th St.

Let me start by saying that I’m a bit of a lechón connoisseur—- I love the stuff and wherever I travel I try the roast pork. This place made very good lechón that was juicy and flavorful... Delish rice and pigeon peas and tostones... we also tried the fritura de bacalao , pasteles, alcapurrias — all delicious. This is a clean, family diner that is not pretentious and Very friendly service—- they even feed the homeless guys who loiter around. Highly recommended!

We went for dinner and it was Great Spanish food, good price and friendly service and clean. The next day we went for breakfast and must say it was great also.

Delicious food. Homey atmosphere. Ample menu. The only downside was our waitress who obviouly was new and unfamiliar with the menu

Nice small restaurant very close to the trendy Wynwood area. Food options primarily from PR. We tried the Chuleta Frita special with rice and beans plus a side of Mofongo and it was fresh and tasty. The Mofongo (mashed plantains) was also excellent. They have Cuban food options as well like black beans with rice, and yuca con mojo. Will go back for sure.

I will say I have not had a lot of Puerto Rican food, but everything we had was outstanding. Roast Pork special was off the charts, mofongo excellent, chicken, shrimp, etc. all amazing. We went for lunch it was busy but no wait. Service a little slow but well worth it. Try it!

This place is exactly the dive we were looking for. Small, away from tourists, and the best Puerto Rican food. Most of us tried Mofongo for the first time, it is fantastic. Some others had the pork and couldn't stop talking about it.

If you want eat something typical authentic so far from touristic area. Go here. Good food. Good and smiley staff. Clean area

Very good food at a very reasonable price! You cant find too many of these in Miami. I would recommend.

We stopped here looking for something unique to Miami before we headed to the Marlins park. The waitress was very helpful and the place was good and clean. Meal was good and authentic. My son had the king fish, my daughter had empanadas, I had the fried pork chops and my wife had the mofongo with chicken--authentic and good!

Great place to eat and decent price for what you get. Love it here. Try the porchop it's the best. But anything you pick out should be satisfied

Real Monfongo in Miami this is the place!!! Great flavours. Don’t forget to dip the mofongo in the broth. For the pork lovers choose Lenchon Asado!!!

The food was delicious, from the bacalaitos and alcapurria to the mofongo, caldo, chicharron and all. The flan of vanilla was creamy and rich, why they added whipcream and red syrup on top I don't know why, just remove it or ask that they not add it. The place is SMALL. There are 5 four seat tables, 2 two seat tables, and a long counter which seats about 6. So don't expect to be seated quickly if you are a large group because the place is constantly full and service is a bit slow. Parking is a bit of a challenge, there is a couple of spots in front on the street, else park around the corner.

This restaurant is awesome! The food is so good and authentic to PR. We went for dinner tonight and we're planning on going for breakfast tomorrow😊; it's that good.

Really excellent food for umbeatable prices. The place is tiny but it's what i like. Prices are really good, i mean, no comparable with Miami hottest locations. Food is well cooked and full of taste. If you want something real, simple, convenient this is the place

We went for lunch and it was fabulous. I had the fish “sandwich” that had fried plantains instead of bread. I have never had anything like it and will probably spend time wandering around the world looking for it again since we are leaving Miami tomorrow. My husband had mofongo which was very different than the one he had in San Juan but he said it was great. It was very good and it was an excellent value. Other places may look fancier, but this was the real deal.

We had authentic puertorican dishes at very reasonable prices. The "bacalaito" was great, not greasy nor salty, just perfect. We also had a shrimp empanadilla filled with shrimp meat and not with fillers like in some other places. For the main dish we had mofongo with shrimps, and arroz con gandules with chicharrones de pollo. The restaurant is always packed on Saturdays, but they make their best effort to have you seated as soon as possible. You should also try their bacalao con viandas only served on Saturdays, and in that case make sure you get there around noon because it's a favorite and it goes out quickly.

The mofongo with masitas is my favorite. Always fresh food and great service. Small place. Can call ahead and have your order ready to eat in or pick up

I visited the place maybe four time. Food is excellent. A lot of food. Great prices. Relaxed place. People from all over the city. Nice service. Best Puertorican food in Miami for the price.

El Bajareque is a nice small restaurant, prices very affordable,.friendly waitress who was very helpul and quick service, food very tasty, love the mofongo and masas de pureco!

This little hole in the wall restaurant is located in a nice spot in Miami. Excellent people and great food. Love the coziness and ambience.

Being a cook is kind of good, because you know how things should be done. But, being a cook and Puertorican, visiting a Puertorican restaurant is another $20. Overall, I really like this rest. Been here a few times. Their "ALCAPURRIAS" taste VERY good. They don't look like Alcapurrias, but they sure taste like them. Their Mofongo is also very good. Not too many can get this right. I usually get their "Chicharrones de Pollo" ( fried chicken chunks ). Not crazy about their beans ( this must be fixed ) and their Customer Service makes ALL the difference in the world. AWESOME service!!! I will be back...

My family and I visited this location based on previous reviews. My family visited from Canada and I wanted them to have a taste of our local cuisine. The customer service was excellent and the food was delicious! Even the picky eaters enjoyed their food. Overall, I would recommend that anyone visiting try the handmade limeade and the mufungo. We will be back!

I almost cried when tasted the bacalaitos and alcapurrias! Just like the ones back home in Los Kioskos de Luquillo... Great Food, small little chinchorrito in Wynwood! A must!

I was extremely surprised with the quality and taste of this restaurant. If you want to try great Puerto Rican food in Miami, which is hard to find, this place is a great option. Food was fresh, and well prepared, and good portion. This is a "Fonda" style place, so service is not their strong, but they are nice. Place is closed on Sundays, so keep that in mind. Buen provecho!

Down to earth great food, priced very reasonably! Had Anguila and Guinea (plátanos/plantains) and it was awesome! The rest had a sandwich made of tostones (in place of bread) with pork and other protein elements. Another plate was arroz con gandules, posrk with onions and sweet plantains. Finished it with great savoring expresso (puerto rican cuban coffee). Will visit again!

We came to the restaurant, we looked for a table for ourselves. They were busy but we had to wait to be treated. It took a while to give us Service, because observing the Mood first came the orders to the street, for us to mention sponsorships. It took them an hour to give us food. It was good but they have to serve the customer who is in the restaurant. It's also a priority.
AUTHENTIC PUERTO RICAN RESTAURANT
We have visited this restaurant twice and we have discovered a real Puerto Rican food. The food is excellent, the Mofongo, the meat fried pork, delicious alcapurrias; The menu is varied and very acceptable prices, the staff attentive to customer requirements. We recommend this restaurant very familiar and unpretentious in its presentation.
