Everything was delicious

By Beaverto |

My girlfriend and I went twice in 4 days. Couldn't get it off my mind after the 1st time so had to go again. Everything we tried was great and everything I saw other people eating looked good as well. Wish this place was in Colorado close to where I live. Hope to make it one more time before I leave.

My wife and I visited Manchego Restaurant today in a night. Excellent food and service. We ate Salmon a la Naranja, a 100% recommended, also Piquillo de Bacalao and Chuleton de Buey. Great space to share with family and friends

Wonderful food and service.

By Giselle V |

We were invited as part of a birthday celebration and never expected such a great experience. From the moment we were seated the service was on point. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs. We consider ourselves experienced conosieures of spanish food and have to day this was one of the best tortillas I have had. Each tapa was delicious we had the garbanzos, croquettes endaslada Russa. The entertainer started a one man band he played bolero and a variety of music which got all the patrons out of their seats to dance. Highly recommend this treasure on coral way. Forward to going g back on a Fridau or Saturday when they have a flamenco show.

You call this Spanish Cuisine? No Way!

By OPSilver |

For years I have seen a trend in Miami where you find new Spanish Cuisine restaurants open here and there, or even the same place reopening under a different name. Unfortunately, a great number of them fail miserably while others struggle to survive. Miami has a large Cuban community with Spanish ancestry that makes them great lovers of Spanish Cuisine. Maybe that is the reason some people think that adding "Spanish Cuisine" next to their business name, and playing Spanish music in a make believe "Tablao" will ensure them success. Wrong! This restaurant has all the ingredients to fail or at least to struggle hard. The location in a neighborhood strip shopping center is not an attractive one, the place is tiny and when the music is going it has to be incredibly loud - no live music the time I visited. None of the dishes we tried were satisfactory - NONE! And I grew up on Spanish- real Spanish- food. The one star goes for the service; which was OK, the staff cannot control what comes out of the kitchen or the lack of common sense of the owner. Unfortunately, in cases like this there is also a huge turn over as the business goes down and the staff moves on to more prosperous restaurants. One visit from us is enough - sometimes we give businesses a second chance; but not in this case.

Excellent food, excellent service.

I learned how to cook in Spain. We really missed it when we moved to Miami. We were always looking for a good Spanish restaurant. We have found very good ones, however, with time, prices have gone up and quality down. Someone mentioned a new restaurant: El Manchego. We visited it about a two months ago. The dishes were definitely, SPANISH!. Two weeks later, we went back. We had the same experience. A very good food, a friendly service and not overpriced. We will return.

Excellent food and Flamenco show

By Ciri D |

My husband and I visited El Manchego restaurant on a Friday night when they had just started the Flamenco show. The restaurant was packed with hungry and joyful visitors while they watched and listened to the Flamenco music. The quality of the food is excellent. We enjoyed a variety of tapas and each selection was delicious. The staff was friendly, professional and very attentive. I believe that this is a wonderful place for a date or a family celebration. We will surely be going back and taking my parents for a night out Flamenco style. Pro tip: There is a cover charge for the show.

"Oh What a Night..."

By celainej1 |

My wife and I lead busy lives so date nights are a little difficult to come by. We decided to give ourselves a date night at El Manchego and we're both happy we did. It's a nice little place in a fairly common looking shopping center; you might miss it if you didn't know it was there. Authentic Spanish foods with authentic Spanish staff make it just right. Our server was excellent, very quick and attentive without hovering. The meal itself was delicious. I had lamb chops with "patatas fritas" and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her grilled strip steak and roasted potatoes suffused with olive oil and onions. The kicker here is the Flamenco show that they have on weekends. Entertaining and lively, it takes you to Spain even if you've never been. But call ahead on weekends; the tables go quickly with reservations and walk-ins are pretty much out of luck. We'll surely be making this a regular night out. Well done!

A true piece of Spain in Miami

By Raul F |

My wife and I have traveled all over Spain, our favorite country to visit and have seen the best of the best when it comes to flamenco. Manchego restaurant has nothing to envy, the food is delicious and authentic, the live performers are very good and friendly. We will definitely go back and we'll bring company. If you like the Iberian experience, make sure to check this place out. Reservations are strongly recommended for it gets full quickly.

My recent visit to El Manchego

By Companion34566110550 |

A chapeau for the chef. Second time there. Excellent and authentic food, wines and beers. However, I agree with what another customer wrote: “ Esto no es Cuba”. The tip is included in the check, so the waiter doesn’t make any effort to get it. On the other side the restaurant doesn’t honor the Happy Hour promoted on the Web page from Tu- Fr 5-7. The waiter’s body language made me feel guilty when I asked him about it. Also there is a + difference between the food price they charge you and the food price in the menu. I don’t know why. All these irregularities based on my recent visit make me feel hesitant to recommend this place.

A hidden gem !! The Paella

A hidden gem !! The Paella is to die for. Been in Spain many times but the Paella is the best ever. Sangria wonderful!

Great food Better People

By gteran76 |

This is one of those super overdue reviews. We came to this place around 4 years ago, they were only open for just a few months. Since the first time I liked the quality of food and the friendly service. Since we enjoyed it so much we returned about once every 6 months until the last time we partook in one of those nights they had live music. That night was a magical experience, to top off the high quality of the dishes, the singer was entertaining and danced around! We ended the night chatting with the owner Tomas, he wasn’t in a rush, and he spent a lot of his time talking to us about his restaurant journey. We were able to appreciate the ambience and character when we personally learned about how this project came to realization. What can I say, its factual proof that “Lo que esta pa’ ti nadie te lo quita”. If you are in the mood for high quality Spanish food this is the ideal spot, if you want to top that off with good entertainment, come over from Fridays to Sundays, they always have either live music or Flamenco shows! Their wine list is well balanced with fair prices, nothing crazy but good enough for almost everyone in this town, plus a bunch of other drinks and sangrias.

Not a place to be if you are in a hurry

By Al M |

This place is about taking your time and enjoying the tapas, wine and environment. Perfect for a long business discussion, proposals, meaning of life, casual meeting with friends or simply slow down and enjoy in an easy going ambiance and service. Fantastic and exquisitely succulent dishes. There is a flamenco show certain days a week and weekends that is worth the nominal fee. Check with restaurant. We stopped by early evening, unexpectedly and without reservations and left well taken care, satisfied and delighted to have found this gem.

Excelent but....

By Solcito63 |

Exquisite truly spanish food. The live music too loud for such a small place. No need to deafen your clients.

Celebrating birthday

By Josephine Eloise |

The restaurant is very small, if you are planning to get together for a celebration I recommend you call for a reservation. They required $10.00 per person deposit if your party is larger than 5, of course they returned the deposit, they issue a credit on your account. The show is really nice, the food was fresh and very good. The restaurant is in a small corner in a shopping center, nothing out of this world. I thought the food was very expensive, the Paella was good but not excellent, I like better the Paella from La Bodeguita Tapas and Wine in Hialeah, FL. Over all, we had a great time, the server and staff are very nice and the show was good. Our table was ready for us at the time of our arrival.

A great surprise!

By Angel R |

My wife and I were in that area of Miami ( very close to the entrance of the Fair Grounds) and felt like Spanish food. Of course , in Miami you have to beware of “Spanish” restaurants labels because there are too many wannabes so we were a little leery when we went in. Immediately we knew we were in the right place because the place looked like Spanish restaurant and the staff had the look! Lo and behold, we ordered the food and it was indeed delicious, and authentic with superb service. We loved the Huevos Estrellados with shrimp (we don’t eat ham). Also notable were the Piquillo Peppers stuffed with cod . They have a show on weekends and it get very full so reservations are recommended. Enjoy!

Great Discovery

By Mtere59 |

First time visit. We live near this place but had never been there before. We had a hanker for Spanish food, found this place in google, and decided to try it. We got there around two on a Saturday and had great service and excellent food. There is a good wine list and nice selection of beers. My husband and I had the croquettes, stuffed champions, and the pork salomillo stuffed with Serrano ham, cheese ,and caramelizad onions to share. It was excellent! They have flamenco shows in the evenings. We were very satisfied and plan on going again.

Food was ok

By j r |

Went there for a wine tasting, and we ordered the Ensaladilla Rusa appetizer (not a good one) the Sepia dish was ok, the Jamon Serrano was ok. I don't think I'll be returning to this place. Not to mention the waiters were very persistent in getting their bill quick, so we felt rushed in having our dinner there.

Amazing show food needs work

By MChoney |

Go for the show not so much for the food. We’ve traveled extensively and have seen many authentic Flamenco shows. This show was amazing. The singers were terrific, engaging and very talented. The guitar player was awesome and the dancer, although very good didn’t dance much. Now the food: We were a party of 7 and arrived very early knowing that once it gets crowded the food would take a long time to get to the table. We ordered tapas, lots of them and they just were not great. If the restaurants name is based on a cheese, then they should have several options with that cheese, they don’t. We wanted a tortilla Española and they didn’t have any tortilla 🤦🏻‍♀️ but did have huevos rotos 🤷🏻‍♀️. Sangria was so weak and pitcher so small. They didn’t have Flan 🤦🏻‍♀️ the churros were 4 tiny circles but good. All in all the Favada was the star of the food and the show is what would bring me back. Service was ok.

The manchego Restaurante

By Adrian C |

Great food with different dishes to choose from , drinks and a live show from Tuesday to Sunday and the best service. If you want to have a great night with friends and family the Manchego Restaurant is your best choice.

Great tasty food!!

By guillepinar72 |

We visited last Wednesday to celebrate my mother in law"s birthday and had a reservation for 6pm. (It"s a cozy restaurant so call and reserve specially if you are planning to enjoy any of their shows) We were 7 and ordered croquetas, fried chickpeas, chorizo, ham sampler, omelette, we order the black paella (awesome) and had a few Estrella de Galicia and Alhambra beers, the service was great from both guys that took care of us. We left right before the show at 8pm. If in the neighborhood go and try it for yourself!!!

Excellent surprise

By Jose & Diana |

I normally do reviews when my experience is either very good or terrible, in this case I was pleasantly surprised. A few days ago I gave it a try but the restaurant was fully booked, I felt kind of disappointed and thought it was maybe overrated; I kept insisting based on prior reviews and got a reservation for tonight, to my surprise the food was amazing and the waiter (Isaac) stood beyond expectations. I had some hot tapas and every dish was awesome, I basically let Isaac to decide for me and he made no mistake, every dish he suggested was awesome and decently plated.

No costumer service esto no es cuba

I loved this place. Great service, delicious food. Everything it’s very tasty, a bit expensive but that is how it is nowadays, but I think it’s worth it.

Excellent food and service

By Manuel F |

My wife and I went there today 5/20/21 for lunch prior to going to the airport. We arrived at noon when they opened and were the only ones there for a while so we had time to talk to the waiter, learn the history of the restaurant, etc. The waiter was excellent, from Spain, very helpful in recommending dishes, etc. We didn't want anything too heavy and wanted to sample, so we went with three tapas. They didn't have navajas today, so we went with the vieiras rellenas con mejillones y gambas. That was excellent, creamy, and not a tapa one finds commonly most anywhere. For the second tapa we chose the callos a la madrilena and again it was excellent, reminiscent of a a fabada but not as heavy (I'd love to try their fabada but that would have been too filling). Third we went with the piquillos rellenos de bacalao and again, excellent, three pimentos stuffed with cod cooked in wine some (as were the vieiras a little bit), with possibly some manchego thrown in. We finished with an also excellent crema catalana and a coffee made how I wanted it, like a Cuban coffee (expresso but with that added sugar, and with espuma; it too was excellent). Definitely a place to go for Spanish food done right. Props to the chef from Asturias and the other Cuban/Valladolid chef, great job, and again, the waiter and the waitress that came in a little later. Highly recommended.

Very good find

By smartquest |

We went on Sunday, and we enjoyed a flamenco music show for a small price. food is very good, and good quality. Service was excellent. Restaurant is expensive. They add the tip in your bill for any party size. Small place that accepts reservation. They have a small gourmet area where they sell Manchego cheese, some cure meat, olive oil.

Best melting Spanish Latín restaurant with show

By ismelt2018 |

Down here in Miami we are ann interesting melting pot. The manchego restaurant is an example of this. For any Latín culture with Spanish taste and a spice of Cuban music this is a must to go place from Thursday to Sunday at evening. Don’t be fooled for the small space, it is cozy, the attention incredibly, the food acceptable, tapas very good, the price high but reasonable. But the best thing are the shows, you will remember this place for the rest of your life. Come late from Thursday to Sunday because around 9 the show starts, reservations is a must, enjoy your self with a amazing variety of Spain’s food and tapas, get a bottle of wine and prepare yourself for the show. Family, couples, alone it doesn’t matter. Tomas the owner is many times around and sometimes plays the maracas in the set, you will be involved in a flamenco guitar, a contemporary violin, un cajón, a beautiful dancer, a great and funny singer with the possibility of you getting involved in a conga dance. Sincerely one of the best dinner experiences in Miami.

Stellar Service

By Lola B |

My husband and I came because we heard about the live entertainment and we were hoping to see it. The food is pricey but it had good taste and a good amount was on each plate. At times the music was a bit loud to hear ourselves, but the service made up for it, STELLAR SERVERS!!

Authentic Spanish Cuisine

By maggiet0813 |

I opted to have tapas by myself. Ordered a portion of Spanish omelette and Papas Bravas. Also ordered bread and sangria. They charged $0.75 for bread ( I thought it was free). Portion of omelette and potatoes was a fair price and good size. A glass of Sangria was $14. I thought that was expensive. Just for me it was about $35 without tip. There is free parking. They have entertainment at different times and at different charges every day.

Always excellent

By Mtere59 |

This was our fifth time at El Manchego ,and it has never disappointed us. If you just want tapas and wine or a complete meal it is all great. Today we tried the rabbit. It was delicious and plentiful, real authentic Spanish cuisine The flamenco show is one more reason to visit the place. I appreciate having a very good Spanish restaurant on this side of Miami.

AWESOME ALL AROUND. WE ALWAYS GO BACK!

By LoveToTravelMiami_Fl |

Very friendly atmosphere, the service is excellent and the food, never lets you down. We always go back and have never been disappointed. We don't like to go when the Flamenco show is on, because the restaurant is small and can't have a conversation.

Paella

By ClauMia |

Visited for the second time and had their paella for the first time which was way too salty. When we told our waiter he seemed to question our opinion on it and did not offer another dish nor a discount.

A special place

By Lourdes B |

This Manchego Restaurant we loved 6 people, their food like home and very Spanish, the cleanliness, the nice place and what to say about Altagracia very familiar and helpful we were with 2 elderly people in wheelchair and their unbeatable treatment. We recommend it 100% and will share our experience to friends and family. We'll be back.

Highly recommend it for the ambience. Just one little thing to change on the lobster Bisque; less salt.

Great Variety and Entertainment

By acostajorge44 |

We were pleasantly surprised with thus little hole in the wall. They have a huge menu to choose from. We enjoyed all the tapas and main dishes. The paella and fush plates were excellent. They took a while but the Flamenco dancers and singer kept you entertained. They also have great desserts.

Relatively expensive and mediocre

By Rim F |

Casual Spanish restaurant. Ordered their specialty Manchego Sandwich ($20) bread very hard, and sandwich cold. Service poor, did not bother to check back, had to flag down waitress 2x for water etc… Finally they have the gaul of adding an 18% tip for poor service. Expensive and mediocre, “won’t be back”

Run this place is TERRIBLE

By Cesar V |

I was so discussed with the food we had paella and it was terrible the seafood was overcooked and dry, the wine or should I say the vinegar was terrible. I should have gone to 7 eleven and had 2 Hot Dog and a Coke that would have been better than having fish vomit from El Manchego Restaurant. Stay away

Good food and servive

By HectorFL |

We visited for dinner last night, around 7 and did not need reservations. The place is very pretty and cozy inside. The food is Spanish, and is very good. Try the tortilla and the bacalao croquettes. The ox tail was very tender and full of flavor, as well as the fish. The Spanish potatoes are very tasty. They have a happy hour during the week until 8, and you get a free glass of wine if you order a tapa, but make sure you ask for the wine for the happy hour, or they will charge you.

Delightful

By Grisel E |

Amazing delicious and my all time favourite new place to eat and is my favourite meals of all time! Our favourite appetizer is the grilled shrimp so fresh moist and soft it the best taste ever.We also had the paella and it was so full of seafood I was impressed. Great atmosphere and great service!
