Great atmosphere, great service, meat, meat, meat AND Sangria

By ickypicky |

We were in Miami on personal business and were turned on to this gem by a very helpful young lady at a bakery. The large room with open kitchen at the back (there is a separate room we did not visit but looked quieter, i.e. boring) smelled of meat on a charcoal grill. This is how they cook all the wonderful meats and several other skewered items (pineapple on a grill is to die for). We were a bit lost as to how and what to order and get but our excellent waitress, Yinet, took us by the hand and helped us out the whole meal. Now, you have to realize that in this area of town over 90% of restaurants are Latino, mostly Cuban. English is not their strength but friendliness and helpfulness is. My wife does not speak Spanish and Yinet said she doesn't speak much English. I do so translations slowed down the process. We ended up with the smallest order, a 1lb platter of four different meats as well as a side of maduros, the sweet fired plantains that you cannot pass up. As an appetizer we shared Cheesy Yuca Balls, a gooey cheese deep fried with a coating of yucca bread crumbs. The app was excellent. We shared a pitcher of red wine sangria with loads of fruits. Yinet said it was about 3 glasses worth but it was more like 5. They do carry a full bar, including Mojitos and wine. I actually purchased a Chilean Cabernet to take home after spotting it at another table. Our meats all had great flavor and the accompanying chimichurri sauce added to the taste. We finished with an order of flan, the custard/caramel dessert that is a staple of Miami. It was HUGE!. But we left very little. El Toro Loco has a couple of different locations as well as a food truck. The not too large room is furnished with functional tables and chairs, not fancy. There were quite a few birthday celebrations and families everywhere with kids of all ages. On a Wednesday night after 8pm. I photo bombed the table of eight next to us and, much later, realized it was a video not just photo. I really must apologize to this group for doing it as I may always be in somebody's birthday celebration. Try it out; if you don't handle Spanish, most every one there can do Spanglish or better. Ask for Yinet; we got to talking with her and found she had been in the U.S. only 3 years, had a university degree and is one of the most helpful persons we have come across. Oh, one more thing, make sure you are hungry when you go. You won't be when you leave.

Five stars on service

By Lalaguna |

Me and my friends went to have a few drinks and food. Everything was perfect, but mostly the service, if you ever come to this lovely place ask for the waitress Oriana, she is very polite and easygoing, Again, 5 stars on service!

Terrible food, the worst crazy bull I've been to but I'll never go

By Massiel E |

The food was super bad, the entrail steak I ordered was brought to me raw and full of skin, the rice came with balls as if stuck in it, my brother's beans were put on top of the rice and he didn't dye the rice and the flan they gave me Supposedly because I returned the food and I couldn't eat the very bad flan, I gave it away, I didn't eat it without chopped syrup, whatever I wanted, nothing to do with the crazy bull of Little Havana, advice to all who like this restaurant, go to the restaurant. from Little Havana and the homestead on 8th Street SW that they are not going to give away the money because those two belong to the owner Aldo and it is not a franchise

Theft

I’ll never go back, they charged me $16.41 for service charge on a &111.16 bill To me this is a rip off They are supposed to serve me They will never steal money from me again

Very cozy, good preparation, well attended by altinay

Great food, nice enviroment

By edwinner25 |

The food is really good, the staff is very polite. The idea of the bull is amazing and the staff advise you before the noise to avoid any type of impact. drinks are expensive and sides are not included, you need to pay for them. TV's are constantly showing videos clip (97% reguetton), but unfortunately 92% of the customers prefers that type of music.

Great food but not a family oriented place

By Danubia P |

The food is really good but unfortunately the music is too loud and the videos they display is very inappropriate, it is disturbing to see things with vulgar and indecent content in a regular restaurant. None to say that every time they blow a very unpleasant too loud noise from the bull's skull noses most of the young children in the restaurant stars to cry and freak out. Because of their delicious food we went to both of their restaurants in Miami and unfortunately both have the same problem. Very sad but not going back. Not a family guided place.

Exquisite taste and attention quality!!

By Tourist65732208047 |

I enjoyed an excellent experience at Toro Loco Restaurante. Leydi's attention was impeccable: friendly, professional and very attentive to every detail. The dishes arrived on point, with a careful presentation and well-balanced flavors. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service in general maintains a level of quality that is appreciated. A place I'll definitely return to.

Good food and friendly staff definitely a twist on meats.

We went on a Saturday night. The place was packed but we were able to get a table almost instantly. Ordered a few appetizers and the sides sampler plus dessert. The steak tataki was amazing. Very well prepared and flavorful as well as the pork belly. The brisket tamales were disappointing - hardly any brisket at all. The sides were mostly as expected. The dessert of tres leches cake came out on a fabulous platter presentation but wasn’t so much a tres leches cake as much as it was a tres leches cake run through a blender. It has a rice pudding consistency that was off-putting. Overall solid meal and would most likely return with friends when in Miami.

SERVICE CHARGE??? or TAXES FOR TIPS???

By alex c |

TORO LOCO: Excellent service, excellent food, excellent sangria, TIME TO CHARGE: 18% service charge, in addition they charge taxes on this percentage, is this correct???? I don't think so, it gives the impression that they are charging taxes on the tip that the waiter deserves, then a suggested tip of 3 to 7%. SOMETHING SEEMS WRONG. DOES A SUCCESSFUL FRANCHISE NEED TO MAKE THESE INVENTIONS THAT ANNOY CUSTOMERS???

Thank you

A lot of food and great staff

By Jose Ernesto P |

The restaurant has great food and wonderful service. Very helpful staff. The food presentation is better than the flavor.

Great food, bring earplugs.

By A. Breto |

The place is a mostly meat restraunt, great cuts and great value for what you get. Had no trouble the portions even as a large group and everything was good and reasonably priced. However, beware, this location incorporates a gag with a ram's skull that blasts compressed air loudly into the restraunt without warning. The staff gives no warning when this will go off and otherwise disrupted a great dinner.

Surprise

Great food and excellent service. Hidden away but worth the ride. Have the lamb. Take the five pieces since they are small and add the tostones.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

By Azalea P |

We had a horrible experience. Starting with the chairs. Yes! The chairs. Super uncomfortable and very small. The waiter recommended the waygu sampler ($178) and the other sampler. We were a party of 9. He took our order and we never saw him again until we were ready to pay. He had the audacity to go on break. No one ever came to ask how we were doing. They didn’t bring the side of feijoada (Brazilian black beans ) and rice. Never brought the Mac. N cheese either. My husband asked another server for a beer and They never brought it. MEAT QUALITY: waygu was hard and full Of fat. Not good quality meat. I get better at my local butcher. The bill turned out to be $500 and we were extremely disappointed. Not planning to go ever again.

Great local hidden spot!

By MOHAMMED |

This new restaurant in the suburb of Westchester is a wonderful hidden neighborhood gem. Large portions, fresh meat cooked as requested, and great value especially during lunchtime. The decor adds much to the ambiance (cow hide seats and booths), an upscale quality that you would not normally expect in a strip mall next to Starbucks and Coldstone. Nice service too. The server Marianela is particularly pleasant. I come here frequently as I am a local and do not like to cook, especially red meat. They also deliver for a small fee. Glad to have this in the neighborhood!

Service, food, value and fun!

By Tripophiliac |

Service excellent; Food great; Value excellent; atmosphere fun and busy. I can do w/o the urban Latino vids (but that’s me)

Ok,mostly meat restaurant

By jdiaz1791 |

Fast , friendly service. Mostly meat, Brazilian style, dishes don’t include sides, average price $20 , very tasty appetizers, pork belly is good, fried yuca is very tasty, chairs are small ,but luckily some couches. Counter seating also available, but even smaller stools, for very skinny people. Fresh Juices, beer were not cold , kept in same fridge as sodas; is kind of loud when full. Coffee and desserts are very tasty and different. Is ok for families. Drink plenty of water, mostly salty meats . Just west of the palmetto, is right next to Starbucks. Plenty of parking, but is a busy strip mall.

best service Luis

By ulises t |

just came in from a long weekend in st.augustine. and when i arrived in miami 09/06/21 went straight to toro loco, pound for pound the best restaurant. cocktails like the Moscow mule. are out of this world. also the filete mignon the best, not need to go and spend more, but one of the most important reason that i go there is the service of all employees.specifically LUIS he is the best waiter that i have seen in years. hats of for his professionalism. toro loco owners should know that they have a very professional waiter.and should try to keep him there as long as he wants.

Loca for Toro Loco

By MiamiMinime |

I came alone , and I hate that , but I felt welcomed immediately by Isabel. I was guided through their menu and patiently recommended from their fancy drinks , food , and the dessert. She certainly knows how to deal with customers , deal with people and guided me well to make great choices . The restaurant is busy , always , a sign of a place with great food or great value for your buck .... this place has both . I came for lunch , but their drinks look to die for as much as does their food .... I guess that’s going to be my next visit ... happy hour and dinner!

Amazing Restaurant

Stopped by Saturday. Place is nice. Food is good. 4 people, We ordered picada 2 lbs and the 8 side platter. Enough for everyone. Caipirinhas really good. I can't give 5, because they didn't have spring mix salad or avocado salad, however, they gave us the grilled veggies at no extra cost. Roberto was our server and it was really good and friendly. They add the tip w/o warning.
