Welcome addition to the neighborhood! Went with a group of six and we stuffed ourselves silly. Everything was fantastic including the amazingly fresh oysters (east and west coast), the fresh clams, the crab Croquetas, the frita with crab meat (outstanding), the scallops (some of the best we have ever I had) the fish of the day (snapper, perfectly cooked and fresh), and the calamari (so delicious). Cannot say enough good things about this place; can't wait to try their happy hour soon! Will definitely be going back soon.

After an abbreviated pub crawl along the finally getting cool part of calle ocho, we decided to try the new Ella's Oyster Bar. The place is beautifully done-up with a clean modern feel, and we sat at the bar. Pretty sure they only have a wine & beer license so ignored the "cocktail" or mock-tail list and went for nice cool Provence Rose. We tried the crab croquettas with Old Bay Hollandaise, ok but not remarkable, and then unfortunately went downhill with the Lobster Roll, miniscule amount of seemingly canned crustacean on a crumbly flavorless medianoche roll, and the Fried Oyster Po'Boy, unidentifiable mollusks on some kind of hamburger bun. Maybe we made the wrong choices, 'cause the Fries were excellent and the coconut cherry rice also delicious, so we may have to give them another shot, Service at the bar was friendly and efficient so we'll try again with some more carefully considered menu choices.

Friendly atmosphere. Came here for some late night appetizers and a few drinks. Everything was delicious especially the Plantain Two Ways. Good beer choices and lots of oyster options.

I went last Saturday night with my wife because I was searching "oyster bars" on Google and they came out very highly reviewed. We get there and the place was busy, but we were able to get a table right away. One of the owners of the restaurant, Christian, came by our table and spoke to us about the menu and the oyster selection; really cool guy. He made us feel at home. My wife and I decided to order a bunch of different things to try, since there was so many tasty looking things on the menu. We started with some fresh East Coast oysters, which were excellent. Then ate some Oysters Rockefeller; also very nice. But the Crab Croquetas and Tuna Taquitos were extra special. Then we shared an entree, which was the Diver Scallops (Best scallops I've ever eaten!!!) and a side order of coconut rice, which is actually served inside a coconut. That rice is fantastic; especially when you mix the sweetness of the rice with the salty of scallops. Nice combo! Finally, as we are finishing our meal, the other owner Jordan came to our table to ask us how we enjoyed our meal and spent some time talking to us; very nice guy! He treated us to a dessert, which was a Guava pastry ("pastelito" for my Cuban peeps) with a scoop of ice cream in it; very tasty and a nice way to end our first experience there. All in all, this place is freaking awesome! Great service! AMAZING food!!! My new favorite spot!

I was in the area, and had heard of this Ellas Oyster house. I sat at the bar and unfortunately I asked for several beers but they were out of a lot of the beers. Their wine selection was also very limited, but the important part was the oysters and they were delicious. The St. James oysters were not only fantastic but various preparations as well. The restaurant was quiet and not many people in the restaurant. This place has lots of potential, but need to get their Happy Hour of organized. Happy Dining

Oysters were fabulous, Dover scallop, coconut rice, chicken lollipops, seared tuna, fish Szechuan style.. also great drinks including blackberry mojito and spicy cucumber margarita... decor super cute and servers friendly ... lunch for four with drinks was $250, but we did eat $50 worth of oysters and same for cocktails

Had the best happy hour! $5 for delicious mojitos, $1.50 oysters and $8 calamari. Everything was so fresh and the calamari came with homemade blue cheese which was lovely. Would definitely recommend stopping here in Little Havana.

I don’t eat seafood but our friends do, I had the best burger in a long time, ordered chorizo as an appetizer and it was also very good!

My husband and enjoyed a lovely Friday night with music, high energy and great service. Oysters were fresh! A delicious lobster roll with potato wedges. The scallops were my favorite and the sushi rolls offered a nice spicy kick and were also fresh. Accompanied by 19 Crimes Red Wine the night did not disappoint! A must visit on Calle 8 if apppreciate oysters and good quality seafood.

Got there last night.....very very slow service....20 minutes to get a dozen raw oysters.... on 12 , 8 were super tiny and bitter... bad choice n.1 Ordered fried calamari.... I’ve got a big bowl of marinara souce and little super skinny tiny pieces of fried calamari..bad choice n.2 Number 3 got an order of crab croquettes....I tasted bread mix with something fishy I don’t know what... My advice... skip this place !

We came upon this restaurant driving by on the way to another restaurant. Since I had not tried it, we decided to stop give it a go. I am a local and picky eater. The restaurant is located right dead center of little Havana in Miami. The style of the restaurant is contemporary and not formal but with a hip edge to it. The menu was a cross between New England style seafood with a Latin flair. For appetizers we ordered crab croquettes, which are a Latin staple but usually made with meat. These where delicious with a very tasty sauce and not greasy at all. For my main, I order Tuna taquitos and fish tostadas. These are to be shared family style. At first it looked like small portion but actually very plentiful. They are served with guacamole and salsas. I did not try the oysters because I don' eat them, but husband loved his. I can not stress enough how fresh this seafood food is. If you want real quality food this is the place to go in Little Havana.

What a great place this is! The food is outstanding! Raw fish, pulpo, coconut /cherry rice, scallops, Aah the scallops!! The sauce is incredible! Mojitos very well balanced and staff just lovely. Will go back!!

Last night four of us went to Ella’s for dinner. It was a great experience. The service, the food were outstanding. My wife had the lobster roll and it was outstanding. I had the Cuban surf and turf sandwich. Wow. Plus the fries are absolutely wonderful as is their ketchup. Go there if you get the chance.

The two kinds of oysters advertised on the board was ordered. Five minutes later we were told they were not available. The ones we got were small and tasted very little. We ordered an extra dish (fries). The waitress did not say that was included in both our dishes (picture attached). The oysters were served three minutes after our drinks. The starter was served faster than lightning. A three course meal served in 42 minutes. Not up to standard.

Thumbs way up! Had the octopus Ceviche, which was fresh, delightfully seasoned and complemented with fresh cilantro, citrus and paired with homemade plantain chips. This place is a foodies delight, in a casual setting .. not too far from Brickell - for those who want something a little different for tapas style food, oysters, drinks. This is The Chef from the old “China Grill” in South Beach..so this is definitely quality. That said, there a 5 dollar beers, sangria, 1.25 oysters and a refreshing departure from overpriced and overhyped restaurants in Brickell and South Beach. This will be a new favorite ! So glad this place exists !! Seafood and lovers of good food.... GO NOW!

Start to finish, the most incredible meal, dining experience and hospitality I have ever had! We had seven different items off the menu and they were all flavorful, fresh and delicious. There were so many good things on the menu, we are going back tomorrow to try the things we ran out of room to try today. Do not miss this!

I went to Ellas with a group to celebrate my birthday. We ordered a selection of dishes and everyone was very happy with the quality. It was the best meal I had all week at a very reasonable price. Staff were super nice and the scallops are amazing. I will definitely go back again and hopefully I will get the Ellas T-shirt for my next birthday😉

Thought this place was superb - best meal we had in Miami - Oysters were superb and the seafood stew was to die for - all in a great atmosphere. Would definitively recommend it

If you think of Little Havana as dominoes and Cuban food, think again. SW 8 Street, it’s main drag, is undergoing a deep transformation. With a menu that features lobster rolls and artisanal beers, modern cool decor and strings of lights adorning the sidewalk, Ella Oyster Bar is a prime example of how fast the neighborhood is becoming gentrified. Other ítems in the menu include a very fresh ceviche, fish cooked in innovative ways and, in a nod to Calle 8, crab croquetas. Everything we tried was delicious and prices are in keeping with similar restaurants in Midtown, which means it’s not cheap, but definitely worth the experience.

On Calle Ocho in Little Havana, the decor is a white painted brick wall, terrazzo floor, industrial ceiling. The staff is friendly, I had ice tea, oysters Rockefeller and crackers.

What a great addition to the Little Havana area. Food was absolutely amazing. Service was super friendly and attentive. We were a party of 10 and shared many appetizers...scallop ceviche, crab croquetas, tuna tacos all were amazing. Pacific oysters are super fresh and tasty. So many delicious options were eaten at the table. Surf and turf Frita sandwich and the whole fried snapper were the favorites. And of course great mojitos to drink! Thanks for a great dining experience!

Came to try the ceviche and got it for me in a new way as toast and tortillas. Recommended for Lunch

My husband and I decided to have our date night in Calle Ocho and ended up in Ella oyster bar. So glad we did. Since we opened the door, the place smelled clean and fresh. Everybody was very friendly and service was very good. Now let me tell you about the food....super fresh and delicious. My husband and I wanted to keep eating and stay longer but the kids were waiting at home. 😁 Definitely we are going back.

We wanted to try something different, and had seen the new restaurant and decided To go in for late lunch. We tried the tostada with ceviche, small portion For $12.00. We also had oyster Rockafeller which was good. I had the burger, which was excellent, delicious, cooked medium plus to Perfection, other places they burn the outside and leave it rare on the inside. Our waiter Courtney was great!, I forgot the dessert, we had Brownie With Mantecado ice cream..... (remember we were in Little Havana) We will return......but please do not park in the back, the parking lot is Private and if u go over time, or parked in handicap with proper decal, We and 2 more couples had to pay $89.00 each to have the boot Removed from the wheel....

Ella's Oyster Bar and Restaurant located right in Miami's Little Havana is a gem of a restaurant. Run by family ladies the place is quaint, friendly and excellent food and ambience. Tasty and prices very reasonable. Enjoyed eating there. Will go back again.

We have visited twice in recent weeks, trying a variety of dishes. All were awesome - fresh and flavorful. The menu is varied, with emphasis on seafood. Nice selection of small plates, with generous portions. The whole fried fish has crispy skin, just the right amount of seasoning, and moist inside. I'm not a fan of croquettes in general but decided to share a plate with my dining partner. These were crispy on the outside, and filled with crab meat - delicious! The wait staff are very friendly and attentive. We sat near the open kitchen and the chef checked in with us several times to ensure all was well. Nice selection of beer and wines.

Lots to choose from. We arrived right at the end of happy hour and shared a dozen of the St James Happy oysters at $1.50 each. Great value for money. I then had the malpeque oysters which were fresh and delicious. My wife had the Miami cheese steak sandwich on cuban bread. It was delicious with a little kick to it. The french fries were great. Loved being able to sit outside on the side walk like Europe. Little Havana is awesome. The people were friendly and service quick and efficient. Will definitely return.

My wife and I enjoyed this place. It’s a contrarian play and the chef makes the fusion work! Being local Cuban Americans, we enjoyed the different cuisine especially amongst so many Cuban, Puerto Rican, Mexican, and Central American restuarante in the immediate vicinity. The locale, food, service, and vibe give it a A++.

This place is definitely a gem in Little Havana. I was truly impressed with the fresh oysters, savory dishes and of course the lump crab croquettes! Each dish was accompanied with a nice explanation and our waitress Courtney was very attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back and recommend with high regards!

Having read an article about this gem of a place, we visited on our recent vacation and ended up staying for the afternoon. Our group of 4 had at least 8 dozen oysters, trying the various offerings they had that day. We had sangria, chatting for a long time with the employees as we were there between meals and the place was uncrowded. We sat at the bar, watched them shuck oysters, had the best time. We felt like family and hope to visit again sometime.

This place is a MUST in Miami! Chef Ervin Bryant's new venture, and he did not disappoint. Our server Melvin was amazing, with kind and attentive service. The atmosphere is light and fresh. They have daily Happy Hour and food specials, on Sunday they have a brunch menu until 4pm. We had the Pork Belly Pastelito sandwich, Medianoche French Toast, and fresh Mahi-Mahi Ceviche. I also took a Medianoche Lobster roll To Go, which I know I will enjoy this evening. I am not a fan of spicy food and told the Chef, he made every dish fresh and full of flavor without using anything spicy. Public parking lot directly behind the restaurant right next to SW 16th Ave. There is back door access right in to the restaurant. Will definitely be making the trip from Miami Lakes as much as possible for this great food experience. Good Luck Chef Erv!!!!

We LOVE this little local spot in the heart of historic Calle Ocho. It's BRAND NEW (as of June 2017) and is flawlessly clean - I mean GLEAMING, which is important in a place that serves raw oysters and ceviche. Quite simply - EVERYTHING on the menu is amazing. That's not an overstatement, it just IS. Ceviche is perfectly spicy and served with these little tostone (fried plantain) cups that are perfectly bite size and come to the table crisp and warm. All seafood is expertly prepared - from the fish sandwich, to the scallops - a MUST try, the sauce is outrageously good, to the lobster roll, to the large head-on shrimp served with crisp green salad and tomatoes, to yes, of course, the oysters. A very nice beer and wine selection rounds out a lovely meal here, and a stroll down calle ocho afterwards puts you just a block from the historic domino park and tower theatre.

The only recommendation concerns the size of the portions, which have been to small for our expectations...

This place was amazing. Excellent food and the service was outstanding. The only online menu I saw was for the blackboard behind the till. But they have a much more extensive menu than that. You have to check it out!

Ella's is located in the heart of Little Havana, on the opposite side of Calle Ocho from the Visitor's Center. Its seafood is very well prepared in innovative--but not far out unconventional--ways, and it is consistently excellent, bordering on fine dining. Appetizers, main courses and wines all have affordable items on their respective lists, and, as a Miami resident, I expect to visit this place often in the future, as it is located near the Tower Cinema, a frequently visited venue.

Service and food were amazing!! Great little Gem!!! Small cute place with great quality food and amazing service. Been there twice I. The past week and Can’t wait to go back!!!

I came here with a buddy to check out there happy hour. The drink selection was limited, even though there sangria was pretty good. The Oysters were excellent and had some grilled sausage that was also very good. The waitress was very attentive and her service was excellent. Overall, I will return for dinner.

I love this place - and who wouldn't? Great happy hour mojitos and oysters, and a rocking roasted fish.

We went for happy hour and stayed for dinner!!! Started with their daily $1.25 per oyster special, then added couple more "taps" and washed it down with their white sangria!!! It was great so we stayed for diner and had the clam bake platter for 2! Delicious and only $28. Hidden gem in Little Havana! You must go!!

The freshest oysters you can find in Miami. Every time I’m around Little Havana, this is a MUST stop. Enjoy !!! ***Excellent happy hours 12-7 Pm.

FIVE STAR Oyster Bar and More. Excellent Oysters of course but the addt’ls really round out the restaurant. LUMP CRAB MEAT Croquettes FANTASTIC. FRENCH FRIES THE BEST (REALLY) and to me a HALLMARK indication of a restuarant turning out FANTASTIC FOOD. cant wait to return and try the chinese brocolli and the scallops. REALLY FINE FOODS. we made a last mintue decision to try the place as I lOVE a good restaurant/raw bar and this is my new favorite and I try them all. I was disappointed in myself not being familiar. Location great, pleanty of parking in the rear of the restuarant. Great pedestrian street with plenty of areas

best new local restaurant by far - would never expect such a quality and this type of restaurant in lil Havana. But don't miss it .... been there three times and ordered pretty much the whole menu and have yet to be disappointed with not one plate. have recommended it to countless friends with the same results . its a DONT MISS restaurant . casual and unpretentious with emphasize on food and service ..

Very cute and clean place in the unusual setting of the heart of Little Havana, where the trend is Cuban food, followed by Mexican and a new Puerto Rican place. Refreshingly different menu. Great happy hour 12-7pm every day: oysters for $1.25 a piece, a deal in Miami. Also $5 regular mojitos are great. Watch out the flavored mojitos are not happy hour price, but at $9 still under what you usually pay in Miami. Oyster Rockefeller where divine, tostones freshly made not frozen where very good, crispy salmon roll was excellent. Super friendly service. Only not crazy about the Cuban crackers they serve with the oysters, too thick. Will be back often since I’m local.

Only opened since May. But t has a long long way to go. They have a menu board out front that advertises Mojito and they have oyster shooters on the menu but they do not have a liquor license so there is no run for Mojitos and no vodka for the shooters. There fried calamari seemed to commercial and not fresh. The lobster is not Florida lobster. I hope they change and make it. But my hopes are not high.

First visit and a little tricky to find. Food was good and oysters fresh and a fair--not great--selection although we thought a bit pricey.Sat at the bar and had a nice chat with the bartender which is always a good way to get some informal insight.Always great to find a new location as wife and I dine out regularly.

Even though 5his is an oyster bar, the dishes we had were amazing. The lobster roll with fries were delicious as was the Mahi Mahi over a bed of broccoli. The cherry flavored coconut rice was amazing. Service could be a bit better. Asked for more water and it did not come. Our entrees came at different times. We will be back their.

Ella’s is defined by one phrase: a bar in Miami that specializes in oysters on Calle Ocho. Apart from the oysters, the menu is ample: ceviche, salads, croquetas, calamari, sandwiches and seafood among other things. Its theme is contemporary and relaxing, like the ocean breeze. The day we visited (second friday of every month) there was a DJ and a dollar-an-oyster special. Mondays: Mojito day, Tuesday: ladies night with free cocktails for them, Wednesday: 50% off on bottles of wine, and thursdays: 15% discount for those who work in the food industry. We will return to suck on savor more oysters.

We found this gem of a restaurant by chance and what a great find!! We had taken the hip on/off bus tour and were walking the town and decided to try lunch here. It was happy hour and we ordered raw oysters, salads and different side dishes. Our highlight was the coconut milk cherry rice, don't ask just order it! The server had a great attitude and meeting the owner and his adorable daughters was a bonus.

The restaurant is very nice and simple, but charming in many ways. They have an open kitchen where the chef is preparing this fantastic dishes. You can seat in bar high or normal high tables. We started with the Crab Croquettas ...very lightly breaded and pure crab meat inside,The magic is the sauce based with mustard the you will use to give a kick to the croquetta. The diver scallops where huge and the roasted corn was the perfect balance and texture to mix with them. The fried calamari where also very nicely done. The coconut Milk Cherry Rice was a surprise and the chef told us that they serve that dish like a hundred times a week. To end Cafe con Leche Flan over brownie with Chantilly and lemon zest. it was just perfect. They have Wine and beer bar and the crowd is also nice.

Had a great meal; attentive waiter and good food. A bit loud but not an issue. Were out of a couple of the draft beers I wanted to try, but still a good selection.

Came back for an early Valentine's Dinner Everything was delicious again. Great place to come eat and have some drinks Guava Monitor and white sangria were great

My friend and I had a great spontaneous dinner here. The mussels were the highlight for me. Very tasty and generous size. Ceviche and fish tostadas were also very good. And the presentation was on point, especially the coconut rice! It’s lovely that the owners and their daughters (whom the restaurant is named after) are there serving you and running around :) Everyone was very attentive and helpful - even finding a phone charger for me. Definitely would recommend.

Nice place to visit on 8th st. Bringing a little diversity of food in the area nice ambience sort of trendy feel from the graffiti wall and bright colored pictures black berry mojito is a mist have and their coconut rice is phenominal. Staff was nice they were a bit busy that night for the wait staff but overall quiet successful I hope this place keeps up the good work and is a long standing business

Really lovely seafood place, great chef and worth a visit if you are near Calle Ocho. Great Happy Hour. Fresh, tasty selections! Well done!
The service, oh the service...
Couldnt ask for anything more. Staff was... AWESOME, felt like i was at a friends house, not a restaurant. And the food was impeccable. Would definitely recommend and will most surely return. Come with confidence as you will not be disappointed.
