I met a couple friends here while in town for a conference. The Embers Nachos were excellent. My friend ordered a slice of pumpkin cheesecake, and it was huge, so she cut it in half, and we each had a great piece of cheesecake.

My group ate here 2 separate times. It was very convenient as we could walk from the Drury Inn and not have to fight traffic. Food was good!

This is one of my favorite spots for great pizza and a cold beer. GREAT HAPPY HOUR!! We have tried several items on their menu and none have disappointed so far. Save some room for the cheesecake you won't regret it. What can I say staff is good, food is good, it's all good. Will be back!!

This place is good! The signature margaritas are awesome! Just the right amount of jalapeños. The appetizer sampler was great. Overall the meats were smoky and yummy, definitely recommended.

Wow !!! After reading all the positive reviews on this place . I decided to give it a go . The chips & queso with chorizo . Was amazing !! The tortilla chips were freshly made . Hot & crispy . I had the all American burger with french fries . It tasted like a homemade burger made off the grill . The fries were hot , fresh & crisp as well . The bartender was our server & he was awesome . The bathroom was beautiful , clean & smelled good . Some of the servers did have a bad attitude . I can't wait to come back here .

We were in town for a mini vacation. We had the Chicken Pesto pizza and it was really good and just right to share.

The food was so good! The wood fire pizza had a great flavor. The service was outstanding! We will definitely eat here again.

Have been wanting to go to Embers for a year now since we pass it on the way to another of our favorite eateries. Yesterday we did it and were somewhat pleased. It was an early 3:30ish dinner for us. The place was empty except for 2 employees busily prepping the fire pit and cleaning. We were quickly greeted by a friendly Chris the Bartender. I ordered a Moscow Mule and hubs had a tall beer. The mule was cool, tangy and tasty. Absolute Vodka was smooth. Chris was prompt with drinks. We ordered the fried pickles app. It came with a salty ranch dressing. Wish restaurants would make their own salad dressings. It's not that difficult!!!!! But the pickles were crispy and paired well with the Mule and beer. Nice happy hour as well. For main course I ordered the Three Little Pigs, which are pork shanks. It came with two sides. I had mashed potatoes and broccoli. Potatoes had skins, which I enjoyed. They were creamy, plentiful and not too salty. Broccoli was steamed just under an inch of its life. It had a tiny hint of crunch left but it could have been more carefully prepared. Unfortunately, this healthiest part of my meal was NOT plentiful. It was a very small portion. Pork was tender and fell off the bone but I could tell they were left over from the lunch rush. Still tasty but one can tell they had been sitting in a warmer for a while. The sauce was sweet and a little tangy. It went well with the pork but I wish it wasn't as sweet as it was. Reminiscent of a Chinese sauce that accompanies egg/spring rolls. Hubs had the baby back ribs with chick tenders and wedgy fries. He said the ribs were tender but not flavorful, somewhat bland, even with the over-sweet sauce. He expected more of a smoky taste but surprisingly not there. Tenders were strait out of a frozen bag and was accompanied by a very strong honey mustard dressing. Again, over salty and uninspiring. Fries were meaty, quite interesting. We liked the quiet atmosphere. We sat at the bar area where we enjoyed three flat screens showing stupid mindless stuff. A few people came in for happy hour and sat at the small bar. It was a cozy gathering. I think to be fair to Embers, we pay a high price for the times we choose to eat, usually just after the lunch rush and before the dinner start. It's a no-brainer the food may suffer a bit in regards to freshness and originality but having a quiet, slow atmosphere is our preference. Our impression is that the quality of food increases with rush hour. At least we hope so. But will be back to find out. Unfortunately, Embers is still a formulaic restaurant, which soooo many chain restaurants are. But they can be tasty and convenient.

I have stayed at the Drury a few times and have eaten at the Mama Margies next door due to friends. I didn't care for it. I knew there was another restaurant, but it never caught my attention. This time around I asked the front desk worker what she recommended food wise and she said Embers next door is really good. I decide to give it a go and was wonderfully surprised with the tastiness of the food. The jalapeño mac is delicious! You gotta try this place out!

This restaurant is next door to the Drury Inn that we stayed at. All of the food that we ordered was excellent, the service was excellent as well and the desserts were all good. The food was so good that we came back the next night at ate there again.

This restaurant is situated next to the hotel I stayed at so I initially went there for lunch because it was within walking distance. However, I enjoyed the meal so much I recommended it to other members of the group attending a conference with me. Excellent sliders on my first visit and grilled tilapia on my second visit. Going there tonight for dinner. Service could not possibly have been better.

Good service but the food was only so so. Other place to go, unless you are staying in the Drury Inn next door.

First time customer. Enjoyed the salmon and two side veg. Very fresh. Salmon had wood fire taste...just excellent. Chicken dish very tasty sauce and chicken was moist and tender. Reasonable prices. Will return.

My husband is a vet and we get to San Antonio when he needs medical care at the VA hospital which is not to far away. Saw the sign for Embers which gives you the idea that they may wood grill their food and that is exactly what they do. When we first walked in I was impressed with the modern yet still comfortable atmosphere. It is nice enough to dress up for dinner and yet comfortable enough to just drop in for a quick lunch. There is outside dinning for the warm San Antonio nights. Our waiter was Christopher and told him it was our first visit. He was very helpful in explaining the menu and quality of the food. He made a few suggestions which was again very helpful. One of them was the grilled asparagus. It is a dollar more to replace it with an item on a plate but worth it. If you like smoke flavored food do not pass this up. My husband had a steak and I had the American hamburger on an pepper bun with the asparagus. The hamburger was the best I have had in a very long time. It stood on it's own. No additional condiments needed on this burger! My husband's steak was cooked to perfection and was a choice piece of meat with no fat or gristle. We went back for lunch a few days later and had the wood fire pizza and another steak. The quality was still there.

We called for reservations to the stone oak location on stone oak and were told they don’t take reservations and there would be no problem or wait for our large party. Arrive at 630pm to be told they can not accommodate us for an hour and a half and we should have had reservations. Even after speaking to the manager who was even ruder and not willing to accommodate us or even make it right. Will not ever be back

There was not too distinctive a transformation that we noticed from the old Ruby Tuesday's to the Ember's decor except for the wood fired oven that is constantly being poked and prodded to keep the fire at an optimal temperature. This place is comfortable enough and dark enough to reside on the fence somewhere between the bar and grill it is advertised to be. If you don't like burgers or pizzas, then you might want to go somewhere else. That should represent a relatively tiny subgroup of the SA population, however. It's just that you should make sure you are not in the mood for lasagna before you go there as the menu is fairly limited. Placed an order for two of their American Burgers done medium (here we go again). One of the burgers almost had some pink in it and the other was well done. Of course that charred burger had to be my wife's! I would have traded with her as I have a greater tolerance for doneness, but we each have specific condiment likes and dislikes; i.e. I like mustard, she does not; I like onions, she does not, etc. About as apologetic as the day is long, the server continued to ply my wife with the "I'm so sorry" phrase as he explained about grill hot spots and the burger normally being the star of the menu. As a token of sincere regret, the server brought my wife a Caesar Salad while her "new" burger was being grilled. Meanwhile the manager hobbled over to the table (she had an injured foot) to offer her apologies and to announce that she was comping a burger (which was mostly taken care of by a Groupon already (the thought was nice though) and also offered a desert. My wife's burger arrived as I was finishing mine. Thank goodness it was medium. The burgers are actually a very good half lb. of beef with a good smoked flavor from the grill. The fries are lightly battered and very good as well. Except for the doneness ordeal, the dining experience might have been a very good one and I certainly doff my hat to the manager and server who did most everything they could to make up for it. Sometimes you eat the bear and . . . We finished our burgers, bundled up leftovers for the animals, and commented to each other that we might just have to give the place another try as we made our way out the door.

I gave the restaurant 3 stars because I actually love their food, but on my most recent visit after 2 pm on a weekday, I left after waiting 6 or 7 minutes to be acknowledged by wait staff. I was greeted and seated, but then sat there, observing at least 6 people walking around and talking, never once looking at me or anyone else -- so I left.

I joined 20 friends to farewell a friend. Everyone was delighted with our food & service. Our waitress, Ashley, was excellent! Her "aim-to-please" attitude made our visit a delight! My thanks to restaurant manager, Courtney, who ensured my food adhered to my dietary restrictions.

didn't catch my server's name other than she's a mom to be. very very nice....fantastic drink follow up. food...eh. would not recommend the half chicken.

Stayed at nearby hotel and walked in randomly. Very pleasant surprise . Only open for several months. Bar staff nicely trained. They could make martinis and other drinks capably. Not just a warm body behind the counter. Knew difference between an IPA and ale Had dinner at the bar with a pizza. Fresh, well prepared , tasty. Place has large wood fired oven that dominates back corner. Returned next night and we had burgers and "3 little pigs" porkshanks. Good portions, tender, nicely prepared. Had a salad with grilled chicken. All tasty. We were stuck at nearby hotel and had limited mobility due to family illness. We were grateful to find a nice place with reasonable prices nearby. Hope to return for a more relaxed meal.

We came during a lunch break because the restaurant was near our conference. My friends each ordered the wood fire pizza and they each truly enjoyed their choices. I ordered the buffalo bites and was disappointed. My chicken had multiple pieces of gristle and after a few bites, I was done. Our waiter was friendly, but he failed to check back after the food was delivered and it took a very long time to get paid out.

Good food. Nice portions for a reasonable price. The only drawback was that we went with a large party of 20 and it took them a very long time, almost an hour, to sort out bill. I felt for the waitress, but I thought the manager could have helped by addressing the group, since frustration was ruining the experience of a good meal. We never received any apology or just an explanation. It is new, so I'm sure the glitch well be taken care of.

Best pizza I’ve had in a while, wood pizza is my favourite! Lovely host and waitress and great prices! Definitely recommend eating here!

Waitress was very helpful. GF options, but she was very clear anything fried was out as they don't all in a single fryer. That includes the tortilla chips. We shared the spinach artichoke dip with celery and wood fired ceasar. Both were excellent! I also enjoyed a Moscow mule. All excellent. Service was great!

New restaurant, hostess and server very friendly. Ordered appetizer and individual pizza because had local coupon and wanted to try it. While food was good (also got peanut butter pie to go that was very good also) timing can use a little work. Entree and appetizer hit table at exact same time.-I did ask for the entree to be delayed when I ordered, knowing that the pizza cooks fast, but I guess the pizza oven area was really efficient. I was a party of 1 and a large table was sat for my same server right after I was. I do notice that when you are a party of 1 anywhere you get slightly neglected and unfortunately the same happened here. When I had asked for a few more tortilla chips to go with the queso because the ratio was kinda off- after a bit was clear that my server forgot while tending to the large party, I started looking around for someone else to help me. When the manager who was making the rounds asked if I was ok-I told him I knew my server got sat a large party so could he get my chips. He did so and was very friendly. When server did make it back to me he pushed bar drink refill (that was good and reasonably priced) but when I declined and said I was going to just finish my meal with water-he lost interest in me, concentrated on the big party and I eventually had to look around for someone to re-fill my water. There were people that appeared to be bussers around. Those busser should have jumped in and helped my server who had got sat a large party. Noticed too many busser boys chatting with the cute hostess girl, when they should have been making the rounds with the water/drink refills to help the servers. I am thinking the Manager might have told the server he got me something because when my server did eventually bring me me a refill of water after I asked he just plopped the glass down and walked away, no "here you go, sorry for that".- Kinda like he was miffed. Hopefully they will fine tune these minor items as time goes on as they have a good thing going that could be great.

I was traveling to San Antonio on business and found this place near the hotel. Sat at the bar and the waitress was super sweet and friendly. I actually went there twice and got the turkey burger both times because it was really good. Their onion rings are really good too. Waitress made me a sangria, even though it wasn't really on the menu. Really got spot to check out.

Great service and great food! My ribeye was cooked to perfect temp! Nice atmosphere. Wait staff very attentive. Would definitely recommend.

We were staying at the Omni Colonnade hotel across the street and wandered over here to Embers for a quick dinner. The server was excellent and very helpful in reviewing their menu. We opted for a pizza. Since I am writing this review a month and a half late I don't recall the name but it was drizzled with a spicy hot sauce that had a nice kick. The food was good, the service was very good and the place was lively. We would return again.

What a great find! Extremely friendly and enthusiastic staff. Davis greeted us at the front door, spoke with us for a few minutes and seated us at our table. Our waitress Monica was helpful in helping us select the perfect lunch. My husband ordered "A Real Big Mac", a half pound hamburger with baked macaroni and cheese and bacon crumbles on a kaiser roll with crunchy, crispy french fries. I had the Margherita pizza that was baked in their wood oven. It was soooo excellent!!!!!! It was served with a salad. We will definitely return to Embers Wood Fire Grill!

I'd highly recommend Embers for an enjoyable meal experience. They have a wide selection of menu options. We've enjoyed their barbeque chicken pizza, as well as their burgers and Chicken dinners. The options for the chicken dinners include toppings that are sure to please (barbeque flavor; lemon with tomatoes)... And, their happy hour beverage prices are very reasonable. The staff has always been very welcoming and service has been great!

Wanted a quiet place serving good grilled food. Instead, same old rack of ribs, chicken tenders and plain grilled salmon. Nothing at all special about the food and the waitress (who was new) got my order wrong and then when she brought out the other half of the combination I had ordered, ended up charging me for an additional entree. I don't understand why every restaurant now must have TVs and music. I go to eat and talk, can watch TV at home and no music appeals to everyone, unless it is very low! Would not return, can do much better at home.

We have ordered from this restaurant twice now and both times we were disappointed. The cheese pizza crust was burnt both times making it inedible. And why perfectly grill meat only to slather it with sauce? We ordered the grilled pork chops and the sauce totally ruined it. Also, too much sauce in the pulled pork.

Tasty burger. Ordered medium rare. Not as thick as the pictures but still juicy. Good spicy jalapeño "signature margarita" on the rocks. No frozen machine, so don't tempt fate with the blender. Loved the tvs for the Basketball games. Will return for ball games on tv and will try pizza and/or ribs since they look good.

Went for lunch today and had the grilled Salmon. It was good and they had a nice selection of sides. There are other items on the menu for folks who want something a little different.

The food was good, the service was good, the atmosphere was okay, the prices were good - but there was just something about this place that I didn't like. The drinks were weak, but it wasn't that. I wouldn't go back.

This locally owned and operated spot is definitely worth a visit!! Try the 3 Little Pigs (pork shanks)...as advertised, they literally fall off the bone. Or indulge yourself with one of their many wood burning brick oven pizzas!!

Been here twice. The first time I had the shanks, and they were awesome. This fish tacos are the right portion size for lunch. I do not care for the music they play here, a little bit to hard metal rock.

Convenient, very good food, reasonable prices and great service. Everything from steaks, to baby back ribs and oven cooked pizzas!

Terrific place . nice atmosphere. Great food and service! Ribs with mashed pot and grean beans. And also chicken balsa were very good. Definatly would go back

We were stay next door to this restaurant and after a day of travel we had high hopes that dinner at this restaurant would be an exceptional food place. Our protein port of our meal was excellent but the sides were sub par. The zucchini was so smoky that it was inedible. The baked potatoes as well as the mashers were flavor less. The corn on the cob was vile. We were sad we didn't go to the Mexican restaurant 100 feet farther down the road. I can not recommend this restaurant as it is a 50/50 opportunity at best.

I tried this restaurant since it was next to my hotel. I am very picky about salmon and don’t like it too dry. My meal was perfect even as a take out order. Restaurant is very clean. Nice bar area.

I had just a plain cheese pizza but I lived every bite. It was not too thick and the flavor had a hint of garlic butter. My friend had the tilapia and really liked her plate as well. For both meals it was only 20$. Normally you will pay that for just one pizza. I will be back.

Nice relaxing place. Loved the fries and spaghetti pizza. Missed drinks made well. More tv's, only suggestion for it to be a good sports bar. Even our waiter, Gabriel, was good.

Embers is now on my list of "go to" restaurants. They have a full bar with gluten free vodka, offer gluten free pizza and overall good menu choices for everyone. The staff is friendly and most of them are on the ball.

Was told we had a one hour wait, decided to wait in car with family of 5. 55 minutes later I walked in and asked about our table. They had no idea who i was, it was a different hostess. I explained and they pieced something together for us, even tho there were empty tables everywhere and every single employee in the place was just hanging around and chilling, talking to each other. Sat down for 10 minutes, felt like I was being pranked, employees everywhere avoiding eye contact. It was very freaking strange! I have never had an experience half as bad! That was trip number 5 or 6 and was happy to go back as it was great. Never again didn't begin to describe it.

We've been wanting to try this place for a while and a Groupon pushed us to get here! I read some recommendations from trip advisor and I had the Santa Fe Grilled Salad with Grilled Chicken... It was great! The grilled romaine lettuce is such a great touch and the grilled chicken is so tender! The caesar dressing is the delicious and doesn't drown out the salad. My hubby had the Three Little Pigs and wow, tender and flavorful! Food is really good, can't wait to come back and try the pizza. The drinks weren't our favorite - I had their margarita which had too much sweet/sour and my hubby had the Moscow mule which had a bit too much ginger beer. We'll be back to try again!!

We had a evening meal with drinks the wood fired chicken bbq pizza was excellent, We enjoyed eating here

All the food was amazing but the tilapia and cheese sticks were my favorite. Tried the pineapple burger and it was savory. The pizzas were also tasty! Highly recommend for families and foodies!!

This place is awesome!!!!!! Wood fired pizza.... Cooked right in front of you...... We had the Butchers Block........AMAZING!!! Wings supper yummy!! Happy hour 4-7 and then 9- close...... Used to be a Ruby Tuesday adjacent to The Drury..... Gotta try it out!!!!

My sister and I were looking for a restuarant that was close to Staybridge Suites and decided to try it here. We asked to be seated away from the wood grill because the wood smoke was a little strong and we both have allergies. Once we were seated in a booth that was further away, the smoke didn't bother us as much. My sister ordered the margherita fresca pizza which was very tasty. It came with a small salad that was very good. It had mixed greens, onion, and cheese, with your choice of dressing. I had the Oven-Fired Quesadilla, which had black beans, chicken, cheese, and pico de gallo. It too, was scrumptious. The servings were large and we both took home enough for another meal. Since we were having a late lunch, there were around eight to ten diners. Our server did a great job of making sure our beverages were replenished. We will visit here again when in San Antonio. We were delighted to have found Embers!

Love this place! Never had anything bad! Wood-fired pizza is a must! Steaks always cooked to temp! Salmon is awesome...could use a sauce, but still great!

This was in walking distance to our hotel and looked nice so we went there for dinner. We were not very hungry so we shared a rib eye steak and each got a baked potato. The steak had so much fat on it, we didn't get very much meat off of it. The potatoes were dark and not hot. I think they had been sitting around a long time. We were both disappointed. We won't be going back.

The food at Embers is very good. The service is excellent. The location is very good for hotels and accessibility from freeway, both off and on. This location is a new location, and they provide a more intimate atmosphere, conducive for conversations and enjoying your meal. They offer a wide ranging menu.

The Embers was next to the Drury Hotel , which is where we were staying. We walked over and had a great experience. I cannot compliment our waitress, Ashley, enough. She was so friendly and professional and recommended excellent entrees and beers. The food was excellent, as was the atmosphere. I highly recommend and will return again.

We used to eat here almost all the time when it was a Ruby Tuesdays. This newly reopened restaurant took out the best feature of Ruby Tuesdays - the salad bar and replaced it with a less than satisfactory salad AND raised the prices. The steak didn't taste like it had been "fire" grilled. It was pretty tasteless and my husband got the ribeye which should be the tastiest! They also took the zucchini off the menu and no bread served with the meal. It was all okay, but not worth the increased price. They kept the dumb policy of no happy hour except in the bar area. Happy hour should be restaurant wide! It wasn't bad, just not as good as before. :-(

I think it’s called butchers block pizza , easy take out . It’s not on the web sites lunch menu but I asked if they can make it for take out lunch and they said yes .perfect crust , perfect balance of ingredient, very good taste ! Friendly girl on the phone who took my order . Plan to dine in there tomorrow!

I ordered the 6 oz steak, brocolli and green beans. My husband order the Cajun tilapia with shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection and was delicious. The price was extremely reasonable. I had a very good glass of wine for six dollars. The service was great and we were in and out within the hour. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I live and work in Bangkok Thailand and when I get back to the states I look forward to eating American food. This time I found myself visiting people in Texas. The last time I was in Texas was 1991, so looking forward to Texas style food was a real treat. Embers was my last stop just before I started my trip back home, and I needed a meal that would last about 20 hours. Needless to say I was delightfully surprised. I order half a rack of baby back ribs and I found it a push to finish it, and that is a compliment from a hearty eater. There was at least a half inch of meat on the ribs and perhaps closer to ¾ of an inch. That with fries and onion rings and I was guaranteed the need for a seatbelt extension on my outbound flight. Considering it was just noon I more or less expected the ribs would offer some resistance in getting the meat off. That was not the case and the bones slid out as easy as you could ever imagine. The meat was tender and was all I could ever ask for. In short a proper meal from start to end. So what I can say is I can’t think of any reason not to visit this place. The people are nice, the food is good and what more can you ask for. Although I did not have any, I am sure the beer is cold too.

We had a nice mid-afternoon meal here, with three teenagers, and pretty much everyone finished everything they ordered, which is unusual with this group. Excellent pork chops, balsamic chicken, salads, and well-sized individual pizzas. Reasonable price for wood-fired meat dishes as well. Group of 7 got out for <$100 before tip.

We were in San Antonio for vacation and saw this restaurant near our hotel. We got there when they opened for lunch and were greeted at the door. The restaurant had a light smoky smell due to the wood grill they cook on. Our waitress was Monica, and she was fantastic. I told her we were from out of town and had never been there before. She showed us the lunch menu and said we could order from the dinner menu as well. After looking at the menu we told her we couldn't decide between a couple of things and she gave us her recommendations. I got Bella Chicken, grilled chicken with mushrooms in a creamy cheese sauce. My husband got the lean cut sirloin. We both had mashed potatoes and substituted grilled zucchini for the broccoli it came with. My chicken was delicious! My husband's steak was tender, juicy and cooked perfectly. We both really liked the grilled zucchini also. Lovely meal at a very reasonable price with friendly, attentive service. I highly recommend it.

Embers is an American style restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly service. There's a range of good food from tasty burgers to grilled chicken and steak, ribs, and pizza made in their wood fired oven. A full bar is available that includes craft beer and a moderate wine selection. One of my favorites at Embers is the Frito Bandito burger that includes black beans, fritos and red onion along with cheddar cheese and pico de gallo...it's pretty tasty! The restaurant also has several TVs so sports buffs don't miss out, but for those not really into watching sports while eating you'll be happy to know they don't blast the volume.

Great place to stop for lunch while out shopping or just for a change. All the servings are grilled and served with choice of beverages. Facilities are very clean and the service is above the norm. Pizza is great and can be a really full meal for one person and very suitable for two. As you might expect, burgers and grilled meat items are available and make you want to return for a second and third time. Strongly recommended for nice quiet lunch for two!

After being asked at the hostess stand to hold on how our table was being “prepared” my group was seated at dirty tables that were pushed together. We had a 5:15 reservation for a group of 5. Waited over 10 minutes with no waiter ever greeting the table and start drink orders. I contacted an employee and was told “just a second”, after 7 more minutes with no server we walked out.

As the title says, you will find good food here. Our server was awesome and so helpful and friendly. We got wood fired pizzas and really enjoyed eating them out on the patio which overlooks a stream and a walking path. I do think they need to work very hard on tweeking their margarita recipe, though. It was too "mix heavy" which made it nearly too tart to drink. I'd definitely go back but maybe order wine next time :-)

Food was alright. Menu was large and our party order pizza and pasta. Both were ok, not the best I’ve had in town. I think this is better place for bar and bar food. Outside area looked nice. Dining room was not as nice. Might try again.

My wife and I had their wood fire grilled 12 oz Ribeyes. They were some of the most tender and juicy steaks we have had in quite some time. Their house-made guacamole was also outstanding. The food was so good, we went back the next night to try their babyback ribs and hot wings. The ribs were fall off the bone delicious. Our servers, Adam and Mary, were both outstanding! Kudos to both!

We were fortunate to visit on a delightful evening with low humidity and pleasant temperatures! We each had a steak and ate every bite. I would recommend this restaurant this restaurant for a casual evening with friends.

My baby back ribs were way over cooked. The meat fell off the bones. Have you ever eaten ribs with a knife and fork? Not that great. Still a good restaurant and would recommend. Just don’t order ribs.

Met here for a business lunch. Upon entering didn't recognize the restaurant after the renovation from what was once a Ruby Tuesday Restuarant. Food choices were casual upscale and the decor and food both a definite upgrade from previous!

Great server, LAUREN! Give that child a raise! Very good pizza - got the butchers block pizza for my meat loving husband - very good. He got the Three Little Pigs dinner and loved it. I love the Grand Margarita on the rocks...the OJ was a surprise but cut the tequila and you forgot you're drinking an alcoholic beverage. I would definitely get their pizza again when I'm in the area! Must try EMBERS if you're on this side of town. NOTE: This used to be Ruby Tuesday's

The Embers on IH 10 near Wurzbach is the location we went to in San antonio. Our waitress, was exceptionally good. The food was exactly as we ordered and delicious. We were very pleased with the birthday celebrations for my hubby and daughter.

I was visiting my family when we decided to stop in. The restaurant had apperently been very busy. Sadly we were the casualties of the afterward mayhem. I simply asked for a medium well steak and the steak was about 85% rare. What doesn't make sense if the kitchen was slow then the steak should of been cooked to perfection. Highly disappointed and definitely will never return. Last I checked you didn't need a college degree to cook a 9 oz steak to medium well a meat thermometer can easily assist in determining if the meat is medium well or rare. Oh well I ate what I could and left the rest of rare meat behind. Customers who come in behind the rush shouldn't have to have their order ruined.

The most immediate impression of this restaurant is the mouth-watering aroma of the wood fire grilling. It will whet your appetite before you even see the menu! I love a rack of tender pork baby back ribs, & if you are an addict of this same culinary sin, then you will be completely satisfied & probably gorged with this menu item. The meat is so tender that it falls off the bone. The taste is outstanding. Other equally tasty food choices include a delicious & innovative salad of grilled romain lettuce with the usual add-ons, with or without grilled meat. The hamburgers are fantastic with sides of onion rings & sweet potato fries. Add a well made margarita or another drink of preference including excellent ice tea, & you will be pleased to have sampled this roadside stop. Always have a designated driver! Parking is plentiful & proximate to the restaurant. Service is spot-on. Give it a try, & you will not be disappointed.

The service was fantastic, the hostess was sweet and took care of us. When we sat down, our waitress was busy with another table. We had 3 different people (hostess, other waitress, and manager) stop by in about 7 min asking if we needed a drink while we waited for our waitress. It was awesome. Our waitress, Lauren, was excellent. Perfect service plus, she gave us some great suggestions for some fun places to try out in San Antonio. And the food was to die for. Our waitress suggested a pizza and appetizer and it was more then enough. Can't wait to try it again

Love Embers! Steak is always perfect...and I'm very picky!!! All food is perfectly seasoned! My favorite place when I'm in town!

Embers was all new to us. I feel like it could be a chain and we just don’t have one where we live but we have a great meal with exceptional service. We would go back in a heartbeat. I had the beef and mushroom wood fired pizza (yum!) and my hubby had a burger. We had some sort of loaded fries appetizer that was amazing too.

Went during happy hour but the bar was packed so I passed sitting in the bar for the drink specials. My waitress was always attentive and was great on suggestions. I had to go with the pizza but I'll be back to try a burger and a couple of other things. This is a hidden gem for sure with reasonable prices. Don't miss out.

Great service, great waiters and great food. Fast and friendly. Their ribs were so tender the meat fell off the bone on its own.

I had never heard of this restaurant before I received a $50 giftcard at a work function. My husband and I decided to try it one night for dinner and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant atmosphere is modern and clean with plenty of booths. The waiter, Christopher was great and gave us a very good overview of the menu, highlighting some interesting options. My husband got a steak with mashed potatoes and jalepeno macaroni and cheese ($1 extra for the Mac and cheese, but definitely worth it). The steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly, the potatoes were creamy, and the flavor of the mac and cheese was spot-on! I had a steak and mushroom wood - fire grilled pizza; it had arugula, a white sauce, and a touch of basalmic vinaigrette to balance out the flavor. YUM! They also have a full bar and craft beers on draft. We also tried the Reese's peanut butter pie which was the perfect end to the meal. I would definitely go back again!

The food is very good. We usually go pick up lunch and take it back to the office, but i love walking into this place and smelling the wood fire burning. The flavors in the pizzas, the entrees and everything is absolutely great. Service has always been consistent and pleasant.

Food was good. Service was good but the desert was the the best part!! Id come back here for sure. Its a quaint little place. We liked it.

The food here is out of the world I highly recommend it I really really love this restaurant you won't regret.

Sampler platter appetizers is almost a meal in its self. Great chicken pesto pizza was so delish and fresh tasting. The Jalepeno Pepper Jack burger is to die for. All that for 2 people was just a tad too much, but would have been perfect for 3. We took leftover pizza home and it was just as delish the next day.

I dropped in because it was convenient, but had one of the best steaks I have had in a long time (even though it was a sirloin). Perfectly seasoned, cooked correctly. The sides were excellent as well broccoli was cooked to the perfect condition of tenderness not over or under cooked. Just right. It’s a casual dining restaurant, not Mortons of Chicago, but pretty prefect in its class. Great and fast service. Waitress very knowledgeable of the menu.

it appears they have some new people or something, I didn't get my drink until midway to my lunch. I like the food it was alright.

We were staying in the adjacent Drury Hotel and walked over. What a pleasant surprise as we wrapped up our summer vacation. The food was great....try the jalapeno Mac and Cheese and the pork shanks!

Dropped in for lunch. Food was fine, nothing special. Thoght the 6.00 for a sliver of pie was way overpriced, but hey it was gluten free. This restaurant seems out of place where it sits on I-10. Most everything around is much lower end. Suspect I'd go back but only on an expense account. Bang for the buck is low.

We had 5 different woodfired pizzas that were all absolutely fantastic and were only 12ish dollars each. The waiter was a jerk (like we were bothering him or something), but I’d go back just for the food!

We were tired so we wanted a simple dinner served quickly. We got it. I ordered the Cajun Talapia and my wife had the Sirloin Steak. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The prices for our food were a bargain.

I actually visited the one on 819 N Loop 1604 East Had been here before for a company dinner. Hubby loved it and picked this place to spend Father’s Day at with the family. I tried the wood fire grill pizza. It’s pizza - not bad. My hubby loves the Three Lityle Pigs plate. Cleaned his plate. Not much left. They were pretty busy that day. We got there 15 minutes after it opened. The service was great. Waitress/waiter were attentive abdbought food out as soon as they could. There were some other families there with large groups but I think the service was good none the less

We were a family of 6 hungry for dinner. It was myself, my husband, my mother-in-law and father-in-law, and my two boys. We were seated pretty much right away as it wasn't busy that late Sunday afternoon. Our waitress was very nice. She was also attentive. We didn't have to wait long for our food. I had a pizza, and it was so good! Definitely up there with being one of the best pizzas I've had! The restaurant was also very clean which was nice. If I'm in San Antonio around Embers, I would definitely go back!

The restaurant is reasonably priced and teh food is better than average. My wife and I both had fish dishes, she the salmon and me the cajun tilapia - both tasty and well priced. I would go back - its not fancy but good food

The burgers were good, though a bit overdone. Standard meals are best here, with good steaks and standard entries. The pizza is thin crust with good flavored ingredients. The wait staff works hard to please and is attentive and pleasant.

As soon as you get into the restaurant you smell heaven and you know for sure that your food is going to be delicious. We got the jalapeño burgers and it was the best meal we had during our visit at San Antonio. The waiter served us with the highest quality. Recommended 100%

We have been here a few times for dinner and it has always been great. Sidewinder nacho fries are amazing! Chicken fried steak is one of the best I’ve ever had. Great service and quite environment. Will continue to come back!

Stopped by while in Medical Center area. Good selection on the menu to choose from. We ordered fresh quacamole/chips as an appetizer. Very fresh and delicious. We ordered the wood fired pizza and it was very good. Took home a piece of in-house made cheesecake that was amazingly delicious! The restaurant is very clean and the waitstaff were amazing. Definately will stop in again!

First time here Greeted at the door with hello and smile from the hostess. Restaurant looked very clean and decor was very comforting. The smells of the wood fire oven added to the ambience. Our server was polite. Our meals were very good, reasonably priced. This is a locally owned restaurant. Very happy we tried it and we will be back

To be fair, this place had only opened a week earlier. They're trying. The owner and the manager came to table to ask for a critique. I thought that was honorable and a good sign a better things to come. They deserve another chance.

This was the first place I ate upon arriving in San Antonio. The Sidewinder fries were very good. However, the service was sort of slow. Otherwise, it's a great place to eat.

Just finished a twelve day stay at the adjacent hotel and ate several times here at Embers. The menu is on the smaller side but do have offerings covering the beef, chicken, fish, salad genres. A wood fired pizza oven is also in use. All my meals were consistently decent/good pizza, never disappointing. My one pasta meal, while tasty, was soft/ overcooked. Just one complaint in 6-8 meals is not too bad .... A very special shout out to “Adam” a hardworking server/bartender. Always pleasant, attentive and efficient. He does this business much good in the way he plays his craft.

Stopped into Embers for a couple drinks and some food. The staff was very friendly and made some great recommendations. We had a variety of appetizers in the bar and they were all excellent. If you like craft beers try the San Antonio Lager. Very light and refreshing.

Seated promptly. Staff was kind. Went early with our 15 month old so wasn't busy at all. Both husband and I ordered steaks. Mine was cooked perfectly (medium) and his medium-well was well done. We didn't complain because we didn't have time to have them cook a new one. The French fries were tasted albeit too much salt. The broccoli was good as were the green beans. Ok beer selection. The smoke flavor on the steaks was great! Not too overpowering. Didn't need to use any sauces if any kind, which is the sign of a good steak. Our server was pleasant.

Friendly server, great happy hour. Food was good. I would recommend this place for families and business

Our neighborhood eat-out group chose to try Embers since we had previously eaten at Ruby Tuesday. We all ordered different things, from salads to steak to burgers, and were pleased with our meals. I had a salmon salad, my husband had chicken salad. We observed that the meat/fish/chicken portions for all meals seemed generous. Our server was very efficient and pleasant. We were visited by the manager and told that this is now a locally owned restaurant. We all agreed that we will add this restaurant to our rotation.

This restaurant is a gem! Do yourself a favor and go try it! The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful.

Our first visit last, night. Definitely will be a regular spot for us. Food was amazing, had the "3 Little Pigs" Absolutely amazing, the raspberry chipotle sauce unbelievable! He had half a chicken with focaccia, very happy with his selection. Loved the cocktail list, some house choices were mixed perfect. They have a few variations on a mule - you should try them all. We highly recommend this restaurant. Delicious food, excellent service, nice atmosphere.

My wife came to see me while I was working out of town and we came here for dinner one night. It was exceptional and we really enjoyed it, the food was amazing and we both agreed we would eat there again if in the area. Definitely worth trying if you never have.

My husband and I stayed at the Drury Inn next to this restaurant when we took our teens to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The kiddos wanted to go to the Asian Buffet so we decided to try Embers. The Cajun Seafood was to die for! The cream sauce lifted this dish to the clouds!! It was the best meal we've had on this four day trip!! What a gem. Plus, with a coupon handed to us when we parked at Six Flags, we got 20% off our total bill. Kamron was our waiter and he went out of his way to make it a great experience.

Everything we have tried here is delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly and had the great wood fire taste. My kids loved their food. The burgers are good.... Go! You won't regret it!

THE GOOD: Very tasty pizza and excellent jalapeño margarita! Decent beer selection. Nice ambiance and decor. Relaxing setting. THE BAD: They serve their really good pizza on sealed ceramic plates. When you put a piping hot pizza onto sealed plates they reflect the heat and what you get is a mushy bottomed pizza. Their burgers are dry and perfectly round, like hockey pucks, indicating an industrial burger patty. The queso (that comes with the appetizer chips and queso) turns into drywall joint compound within 5 minutes. If you don't eat it immediately you can plaster a wall with it. Of course, this means that it is probably turning into a huge plug inside your stomach. SUMMARY: Too mediocre for for me come back.

I swear I passed this place up so many times until a coworker recommended for lunch. The food was surprisingly pretty good that I'm looking forward to going back. The menu has a variety to accommodate anyone's taste.

We went there for a birthday dinner! Wow! what a great place! food was great, service was friendly and very attentive to us with a small child! , everyone ordered something different and it was all very good, steak, salmon was tasteful! portions were perfect! cheese cake was to die for! Highly recommend it and will definitely go back again!

Although it is a fairly sizable place the feeling there is more intimate. The lighting was not too bright or dim, just comfortable. What really impressed me was the food. I am not a gourmet but I'm old enough to have had a lot of excellent meals over the years. This one surprised me! It was chicken with a balsamic sauce and a couple of vegetable side dishes. The conversation was interesting and I wasn't all that hungry but I stopped dead when I put the first bite in my mouth it was so delicious. Good enough for me to come home and jump on here to let anyone that is looking for a nice meal NOT on the Riverwalk that this would be a place to consider. I'm well fed but can hardly wait for my next visit.

I ordered the 6 oz sirloin, mash potatoes and broccoli. The steak was undercooked and not hot, the meat was also tough to cut. The portions are small so don't come very hungry. No bread or rolls served. Okay to try but not worth the price.
Great bar food and cold beer!!!
Here on business, and always looking for a 'local' place to eat. Embers was recommended - so I had dinner ... a great grilled chicken avocado sandwich with all of the toppings coupled with crispy fries. And, of course, a couple cold Stellas. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, as was all of the staff. Had a great conversation with other patrons while at the bar. Friendly atmosphere, good food, nice people, terrific staff. Go there if you get a chance. I'll go again.
