Recently opened Mexican Restaurant in Dallas TX

Nice place in a shopping center. Used to be a Dickey's BBQ before it became Emilio's. Excellent service, food is good. Lots of competition for Tex-Mex and Mexican in this area, this location stands up to the test. Food is not very spicy, nice flavors, though.

Definitely worth it.

Moved into the area almost a year ago, right as covid was beginning. On the recommendation of a friend, I tried Emilios for takeout. The food was amazing. I decided I would try it again but dine at the restaurant. Again, it was amazing. I have been a repeat customer and leave every time very satisfied. Emilio has been there every time along with his family. Service is great, food is amazing and you are supporting a family owned restaurant.

Revolting!

One of worst meals ever. Feces and dead roaches in the bathroom, completely aloof staff, and inedible food. I could go into much greater detail; however, I don't really want to relive this nightmare. Oh, I shouldn't forget to mention the price. Order of greasy stale flautas, cup of quest (had to be from a can), tex-mex combo, and 2 beers was $55. By the way Emilios, chile con carne actually is not red sauce with ground beef.

Great food and service

Delicious! I had the shrimp with wine sa7ce/cilantro and my husband had a chimichanga. We both enjoyed our lunch. Great chips and house made salsa. Friendly, attentive service.

Good food with very generous portions

Friends have been here many times and recommended it - and they were right to do so. Everyone in our group really enjoyed their meals. The black beans and salsas were especially good. All pork, chicken and beef entrees were great.

Amazing Lunch!

Initial visit today with friends for lunch. Very impressive menu and service. Prices, fair and one of the best salsas I've had in Dallas. Definitely will return!

Always delicious 😋

Consistent menu, flavors, and service. The tacos al carbon, one beef, one chicken...my go to menu item! Prices are acceptable. Service is consistent and polite. However, a smile or two would be a nice touch, and I don't want to feel like... as a customer, we're not welcome.

Great Meal

I was pleasantly surprised at how good our meal was here especially with a restaurant in a hard to find strip mall. I had the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas and they were loaded with meat. Very tasty! Large portions as well. The wait staff is a bit ambivalent and the restaurant was understaffed, but overall good experience.

Solid Tex-Mex option

Tuesday lunch. Emilio's took over a Dickey's BBQ in a strip center near a J.C.Penney and a Walmart. The decor is sophisticated if mixed--think wagon wheel lights overhead combined with Jackson Pollack-type art on the walls. The menu is classic Tex-Mex with multiple options. The opening chips are OK and are accompanied by a classic salsa and a creamy chipotle sauce that tasted a little bit like tartar sauce. My grilled fish taco plate (two tacos + rice and black beans) @ $9.50 was more than enough. They added fresh lettuce, cabbage, and guacamole to the plate. A lot of food for the price. They could add a little more zip to the food in order to compete with rival restaurants. (Did I mention I have Tex-Mex at least 1x/week and have for decades?) Service was very attentive. Worth a visit for dinner.

Near Lake Highlands and want Mexican or Tex-Mex this is the place!

I've been here several times and it really never disappoints. I love the variety of dishes as it's traditional Mexican but also is blended with a great touch of Tex-Mex flare. They have anything you could want from soups/salads to steak and seafood. Everything is open for personal "touches" as it's a locally owned/operated place and not some "chain" restaurant mentality. One of my favorite aspects... The owner or managers are always present, the service staff attentive and are well trained. The complimentary chips and salsas are really good and the house margaritas (frozen or rocks) are tasty and reasonably priced. Ask for the specials and times for Happy Hour discounts! Excellent

I swung by Emilio’s Mexican Kitchen in Dallas and was genuinely impressed. The salsa and queso felt made-from-scratch, the fajitas were juicy and flavorful, and their tajín margarita had the perfect tang with a kick—I’d happily order it again

One of the few truly original Mexican restaurants in Dallas. Delicious.

Emilio’s is delicious. This was our first visit, and I can’t wait to go back. I love enchiladas, and these were delicious. The chili con carne is wonderful. It is different than any I have ever had. The rice is by far the most original and probably the best in Dallas. All of the sauces are terrific. Inside, it is comfortable and attractive. We were seated in a very comfortable clean booth. Ask to speak to the chef, she is amazing. I only wish it were in my neighborhood so I could drop in daily.
